Pinball Community and Recent Releases

00:00:22
Speaker
Hey, Scott.
00:00:22
Speaker
And let's talk about the friends of the podcast.
00:00:24
Speaker
I'll shoot out a couple.
00:00:26
Speaker
If I miss a couple, you let me know.
00:00:27
Speaker
Sure.
00:00:28
Speaker
So, first and foremost, if you haven't been living under a rock, you have seen that Avengers premiums come out.
00:00:36
Speaker
Avengers Infinity Quest, Guns N' Roses.
00:00:40
Speaker
Um, we're still on the cusp of maybe, I don't know, uh, CGC coming out with something.
00:00:46
Speaker
And, uh, if you're looking for that new game, go to flipping out Zach many and Nicole, many will get you taken care of.
00:00:53
Speaker
They've got some wonderful machines there.
00:00:55
Speaker
And, uh,
00:00:56
Speaker
I've got a pro Jurassic Park coming on the way this next week.
00:01:01
Speaker
Zach's got me taken care of.
00:01:04
Speaker
I'm very happy with the service.
00:01:05
Speaker
He's gotten me taken care of on everything.
00:01:09
Speaker
I had some issues with my Turtles play field and he got it resolved.
00:01:15
Speaker
I'm excited.
00:01:16
Speaker
Great customer service.

Pinball Accessories and Endorsements

00:01:18
Speaker
We've got Brian Allen with Flyland Designs.
00:01:21
Speaker
If you haven't checked out his artwork, you should go check it out.
00:01:23
Speaker
He just came out with some new art blades for Attack for Mars and for Monster Bash, and they look amazing, coupled with his Translites.
00:01:33
Speaker
So go check those out.
00:01:34
Speaker
I messaged him and said, you need to do it for Medieval Madness, because I will put them in my game.
00:01:39
Speaker
Yeah.
00:01:40
Speaker
I agree.
00:01:41
Speaker
And then Brad Hunter with lit frames.
00:01:43
Speaker
That man's lit frames look fantastic.
00:01:45
Speaker
I got mine on the wall right here.
00:01:47
Speaker
Got turned on with the total nuclear annihilation.
00:01:50
Speaker
Sorry, total annihilation.
00:01:51
Speaker
Wait, fudge.
00:01:53
Speaker
Total nuclear.
00:01:54
Speaker
No, nuclear.
00:01:57
Speaker
It's nuclear.
00:01:59
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:00
Speaker
Nuclear annihilation in it.
00:02:03
Speaker
And it looks fantastic.

Pinball News and Blog Highlights

00:02:06
Speaker
This Week in Pinball, if you're looking for your updated news, you want all the scoops up front, go to This Week in Pinball.
00:02:13
Speaker
Very non-biased, wonderful stuff.
00:02:16
Speaker
So if you're looking for that newsworthy stuff, you don't really want to scan Pinside.
00:02:21
Speaker
Jeff Patterson does all the scanning for you and gives you the update on Mondays, Tuesdays.
00:02:27
Speaker
What is it?
00:02:27
Speaker
Thursdays now?
00:02:28
Speaker
It seems like he's always updating that stuff.
00:02:29
Speaker
He seems to always be doing stuff.
00:02:32
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:32
Speaker
All Things Pinball.
00:02:33
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:34
Speaker
I who else we got here, Scott?
00:02:37
Speaker
So a good friend, Timothy Purcell.
00:02:39
Speaker
He has his blog, the pinball loft.com and he got an Avengers.
00:02:45
Speaker
Actually, I talked him into an Avengers.
00:02:47
Speaker
I tipped him off that it was going to be an L one and a Yeti game.
00:02:50
Speaker
And so he got in on the LE action.
00:02:52
Speaker
So you can go and read his review on the Avengers LE and see what he thinks about it.
00:02:59
Speaker
After, obviously, we talk about it tonight.
00:03:02
Speaker
Heck yes.
00:03:03
Speaker
And that

Personal Pinball Activities and Sales

00:03:04
Speaker
brings us to a good point.
00:03:04
Speaker
Let's talk about what's been going on in our pinball lives because we've done a couple interviews these last couple weeks and we haven't really talked about what we've been doing with pinball personally.
00:03:13
Speaker
So what's been going on with you, Scott?
00:03:15
Speaker
Well, you know what?
00:03:16
Speaker
So I did have a small unboxing party.
00:03:20
Speaker
We are spiking Corona wise in Utah.
00:03:23
Speaker
And so it seems a common thread is if there's food involved, but I was having people come over to help me move something.
00:03:32
Speaker
So I, you know, I was trying to have food.
00:03:36
Speaker
So we cooked the food, but we did wear masks and opened up Avengers.
00:03:40
Speaker
I brought it downstairs to my basement down the stairs of death.
00:03:44
Speaker
And then we did food, but I had hand sanitizer at the beginning.
00:03:49
Speaker
And so they would do that because obviously you're gonna touch the same spoon and utensils and serving things all the way down.
00:03:56
Speaker
So that was fun.
00:03:58
Speaker
Had a few people come out and help me move that.
00:04:01
Speaker
Also X-Men is going away.
00:04:04
Speaker
I think emotionally I've just gone through X-Men and there's not really much else I'm going to do with that game.
00:04:10
Speaker
So there's only so much space.
00:04:13
Speaker
And I think that's part of the pinball journey is being able to figure out how to buy and sell.
00:04:18
Speaker
Selling is the hardest part for me, as I've said before.
00:04:23
Speaker
Um, and, uh, yeah, so I really have three new games.
00:04:27
Speaker
Well, three relatively new games that I still have yet to scratch the surface on code.
00:04:32
Speaker
I have Jurassic park.
00:04:33
Speaker
I have Teenage Beast Ninja Turtles and I have infinity quest and, uh, that's really my pinball update.
00:04:40
Speaker
What about you, Josh?
00:04:42
Speaker
So, um, I just got a random bug the other day and I decided it's time.
00:04:47
Speaker
It's time to get rid of an attack from Mars.
00:04:49
Speaker
Um,
00:04:51
Speaker
I'm kind of like you where what needs to stay, what needs to go, or you're emotionally done with it.
00:04:56
Speaker
Attack for Mars took on the role of Grailpin for a long time for me.
00:05:01
Speaker
along with Medieval Madness.
00:05:03
Speaker
And I had a Revenge for Mars for the longest time.
00:05:06
Speaker
And if you've never played a Revenge for Mars, besides the screen that comes down onto the playfield, there's not really much difference.
00:05:12
Speaker
Because, I mean, besides it being a little smaller, it's flipped.
00:05:16
Speaker
It's just a mirrored playfield.
00:05:17
Speaker
So like Tron is to X-Men.
00:05:20
Speaker
But you get kind of the same feel of it.
00:05:22
Speaker
And I've enjoyed it.
00:05:23
Speaker
I've had my Attack for Mars for almost three years now.
00:05:26
Speaker
And so I have a really small collection and I sold Monster Bash back in June to get Turtles.
00:05:33
Speaker
I got some money left over.
00:05:34
Speaker
I'm like, you know what?
00:05:35
Speaker
Let's get rid of Attack for Mars.
00:05:37
Speaker
I got the JP Pro coming and I've got Avengers Premium coming.
00:05:40
Speaker
And so I go from a three to four collection.
00:05:45
Speaker
And then I bought...
00:05:46
Speaker
I don't know if we talked about this, but I got a Lethal Weapon and a Flintstones within that time too, within the last couple months.
00:05:52
Speaker
Bought them with just the sole intention of selling them.
00:05:55
Speaker
I know that's terrible of me.
00:05:57
Speaker
But I figured I'd never played these games.
00:05:58
Speaker
I heard they're fantastic.
00:05:59
Speaker
I'll keep them for a couple weeks, then I'll put them up for sale.
00:06:03
Speaker
And they sold quick and without hesitation.
00:06:06
Speaker
People jumped on them.
00:06:08
Speaker
And so they're both gone now.
00:06:10
Speaker
Both families that got them are very happy with them.
00:06:12
Speaker
And I think it's because, man...
00:06:14
Speaker
Prices are going crazy right now for the used market on pinball machines.
00:06:17
Speaker
It's ridiculous.
00:06:18
Speaker
Which is why I really need to jump on it and list a few of my games.
00:06:23
Speaker
Like Attack for Mars, you helped me sell it.
00:06:26
Speaker
I posted it at, what, 9, 10 on

Community Connections and Sales Successes

00:06:29
Speaker
like a Thursday or Friday night.
00:06:31
Speaker
And it was sold by 10 o'clock that night.
00:06:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:06:35
Speaker
And I, and actually this is a friend who I've gotten to know.
00:06:39
Speaker
He's a, he's a new guy in the pinball, in the pinball field.
00:06:44
Speaker
He lives close to us, but kind of got acquainted through him through just through the podcast actually.
00:06:53
Speaker
So it was, it was kind of fun that we were able to do it.
00:06:56
Speaker
It's Tom and Tony and it just, it just works out really well that Tony, uh,
00:07:04
Speaker
Tony's been kind of a good friend that I've met through the podcast and we've been talking a lot and he's he's on the medical side.
00:07:12
Speaker
And so we have a little common thing.
00:07:13
Speaker
And he said his friend Tom was really interested in getting into pinball and he talked him into buying a Jurassic Park premium.
00:07:21
Speaker
So we had been messaging back and forth, but we really hadn't actually gotten together since COVID happened and I really wasn't doing anything all summer.
00:07:32
Speaker
So it was a first time for him to come out, but yeah, it was Tom who really, he's going through the growing, um, the growing rocket ship of collecting.
00:07:42
Speaker
And so I think he's bought about, uh, four or five games this year.
00:07:47
Speaker
Uh, he picked up, he picked up wizard of Oz too, by the way.
00:07:50
Speaker
Dang.
00:07:51
Speaker
Nice.
00:07:52
Speaker
So I was like, he's just, he's just buying the expensive pens apparently.
00:07:57
Speaker
Well, and a couple other things too.
00:08:00
Speaker
Um,
00:08:03
Speaker
I found, I don't know if I subscribed to him or followed them a while ago, but have you ever heard of don't panic flip?
00:08:09
Speaker
No.
00:08:10
Speaker
So they are, they are a streaming channel and they've teamed up with TPN.
00:08:16
Speaker
And so they stream via TPN now.
00:08:18
Speaker
Um, I honestly don't know the gentleman's name, but they're fun to watch.
00:08:21
Speaker
And it was funny cause I was sitting there, we're chit chatting and, uh,
00:08:26
Speaker
someone in the chat was like, is this the loser kids from like loser kid pinball podcast?
00:08:32
Speaker
And I was like, yeah.
00:08:34
Speaker
And the gentleman's like, I love your show.
00:08:37
Speaker
I had to go pick up a pinball machine.
00:08:38
Speaker
It was a five hour round trip.
00:08:40
Speaker
So for five hours straight, that's all I listened to was loser kid.
00:08:42
Speaker
And I felt very appreciative.
00:08:45
Speaker
That was really cool.
00:08:46
Speaker
You know, I want to apologize for, I hope you didn't drive off the road as we lulled him to sleep.
00:08:51
Speaker
We don't, we don't have quite the energy level of most of the pinball podcasts out there.
00:08:55
Speaker
So yeah,
00:08:56
Speaker
But one of the reasons I checked them out is I got my new JP Pro coming.

Custom Codes and Gameplay Enhancements

00:09:02
Speaker
And this last week, someone had dropped new code that took all the animations and put in the movie clips.
00:09:10
Speaker
And they added some of the orchestra music into there as well.
00:09:14
Speaker
And...
00:09:15
Speaker
I was like, this code, I've got to see this code.
00:09:17
Speaker
And so don't panic.
00:09:18
Speaker
Flip's been streaming it and Alnonymous.
00:09:20
Speaker
If you haven't checked either one of them out, you can go to their past Twitch streams and they've streamed them both.
00:09:27
Speaker
And then if you want to get the code, it's on Pinside.
00:09:29
Speaker
I can't remember exactly the thread.
00:09:31
Speaker
but look up.
00:09:32
Speaker
It's just like movie clip Jurassic park thread.
00:09:35
Speaker
And he's done it for the premium Ellie and one for the pro.
00:09:38
Speaker
And so very nice, very nice gentleman.
00:09:41
Speaker
Uh, he's he, we talked and he got me taken care of.
00:09:44
Speaker
Oh, nice.
00:09:45
Speaker
Okay.
00:09:45
Speaker
So let's give him a shout out.
00:09:47
Speaker
My problem is I really don't, uh, I'm, I'm more likely to listen to a podcast than I am to listen to watch a Twitch stream or something like that, because my kids are usually all over me when I get home.
00:09:59
Speaker
So,
00:09:59
Speaker
Let's give them a shout out again, please.
00:10:03
Speaker
I'm trying to figure out who the... His name is Tim.
00:10:06
Speaker
He goes by TimLah79 on Pinside.
00:10:10
Speaker
So T-I-M-L-A-H 79.
00:10:14
Speaker
Just tell him you're interested in the JP code.
00:10:16
Speaker
He'll get you taken care of.
00:10:18
Speaker
I would actually be interested.
00:10:20
Speaker
I wonder if it works for the LE.
00:10:22
Speaker
I actually... It does, yes.
00:10:24
Speaker
Here's the funny thing.
00:10:26
Speaker
I am not as...
00:10:29
Speaker
bothered by, uh, by not having the assets in the screen.
00:10:33
Speaker
And I I've, I've realized that theme is a big part for me, but I didn't feel that Jurassic park was missing anything because I felt that it was the perfect approach of being involved in the movie without being just following the same path.
00:10:50
Speaker
You know, that's the, the ghostbusters problem, right?
00:10:53
Speaker
Where, okay.
00:10:54
Speaker
Who brought the dog?
00:10:55
Speaker
And then you, you're just, all you're doing is marching through the movie.
00:11:00
Speaker
I felt that the way they did Jurassic Park was brilliant and just it was kind of a free flow of, yes, you're trying to work to the visitor center and then you're trying to run from the visitor center.
00:11:10
Speaker
But it's not the you know, it's not the same generic thing.
00:11:13
Speaker
So I didn't feel like I missed anything.
00:11:15
Speaker
And I would even say the same thing about the new custom code for turtles where they've taken the clips from the old show and put them in

Themes, Mods, and Financial Aspects

00:11:25
Speaker
there.
00:11:25
Speaker
I don't feel like I've missed anything, but maybe that's just
00:11:29
Speaker
You know, some people it's a big deal and some people it's not.
00:11:32
Speaker
I guess it's not a big deal for me, but I'd be interested in trying it out.
00:11:35
Speaker
What do you think, Josh?
00:11:38
Speaker
I'd definitely say go watch it first, see what your thoughts are.
00:11:41
Speaker
I'm kind of the same way.
00:11:44
Speaker
I've been playing my turtles a lot, and I've never converted over to the TV show clips, even though they're integrated really, really well.
00:11:52
Speaker
And it's because really the only time I'm looking at the screen is when the ball stops and it starts an episode or when it finishes an episode.
00:11:59
Speaker
And those are so quick or I skip them that it doesn't really matter.
00:12:03
Speaker
I very rarely look at the screen besides the fact of...
00:12:07
Speaker
you know, when pizza parlor multiball starts and it tells you, hey, this is the toppings you've got, or...
00:12:14
Speaker
But like with Jurassic Park in that case, it shows you movie clips, but it's also integrated with the original animations because you still need the map.
00:12:20
Speaker
You still need to see like catching the dinosaurs and stuff like that.
00:12:24
Speaker
And so it can't do that all from the movie.
00:12:26
Speaker
And so it's integrated really well from what I could tell.
00:12:29
Speaker
People are loving it.
00:12:30
Speaker
I know Tommy with this flipping podcast, I think he's considering getting it for location just because when you change something up a little bit, it reignites people wanting to play it.
00:12:42
Speaker
Sure, that's fun.
00:12:43
Speaker
I get it.
00:12:44
Speaker
And a lot of people, everyone I've talked to has just ranted and raved about it.
00:12:48
Speaker
They love it.
00:12:48
Speaker
And so, like I said, if you want to check it out, I know he has some disclaimers or something.
00:12:53
Speaker
I don't know.
00:12:54
Speaker
Go talk to him.
00:12:55
Speaker
Well, yeah.
00:12:56
Speaker
The bottom line is it has to be basically a custom fan project.
00:13:00
Speaker
He can't take money from it because otherwise it's copyright infringement.
00:13:04
Speaker
And yeah, it's usually a passion project just to do some fun stuff.
00:13:07
Speaker
So.
00:13:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:08
Speaker
And that's what it is.
00:13:09
Speaker
We're always happy to, Hey, uh, find your own thing.
00:13:12
Speaker
Like I put a, an alternate back glass in my medieval madness because I, I just wanted to have it for fun.
00:13:18
Speaker
So, yeah.
00:13:19
Speaker
Yep.
00:13:20
Speaker
So, and I mean, that, that's pretty much, uh, my pinball for the last couple of weeks.
00:13:24
Speaker
It's, I don't know.
00:13:25
Speaker
It's been fun.

Unexpected Discoveries and Competitor Stories

00:13:26
Speaker
Like, Oh, and I just remembered I was doing a job.
00:13:29
Speaker
So we have, I live in the biggest city in our
00:13:34
Speaker
We call it the Tri-County area, but it covers a little bit more because we're right on the Colorado border.
00:13:39
Speaker
I went across the border to a town called Rangeley and I ran into, we don't really call them competitors around here because there's enough work for everyone.
00:13:49
Speaker
And so if you're respecting of that person, they're just another person you see at the warehouse when you go to pick up supplies.
00:13:57
Speaker
Well, I ran into another HVAC guy and we got talking pinball and he's like, you work on those?
00:14:03
Speaker
I said, yeah.
00:14:04
Speaker
And he's like, really?
00:14:05
Speaker
He's like, I got two in my shop.
00:14:07
Speaker
You want to come take a look at them?
00:14:08
Speaker
And I said, sure, let's go take a look.
00:14:10
Speaker
And so we went and looked at him and he collects cars.
00:14:12
Speaker
That's his thing.
00:14:13
Speaker
What happened was he did a job and the guy couldn't pay.
00:14:16
Speaker
The guy was moving and he said, hey, I've got a couple of pinball machines in my garage or in my storage.
00:14:22
Speaker
You can have them if they will, you know, take care of the rest of the price.
00:14:27
Speaker
And so we got in there and I'm always saying it's going to be some like EM that's not no one wants, you know, and he had a future spa and a black knight sitting there.
00:14:39
Speaker
And so I looked at him and I'm like, dude, these are two decent games.
00:14:43
Speaker
I mean, this is late 70s, early 80s, and they're good games.
00:14:47
Speaker
And he said, well, if you help me fix them up, you can keep one and I'll have the other.
00:14:52
Speaker
Wow.
00:14:53
Speaker
Okay.
00:14:54
Speaker
I'm like sold.
00:14:55
Speaker
So he's actually moved to Vernal, the bigger city.
00:14:58
Speaker
And so I'm going to help him move them, move them over this week.
00:15:01
Speaker
And I'm going to convince him to let me have the black night because not because it's worth more, but I have a family friendly home.
00:15:08
Speaker
Have you seen future spa?
00:15:10
Speaker
Okay.
00:15:10
Speaker
Actually, I've never played a future spa.
00:15:12
Speaker
So tell me about how awesome it is.
00:15:16
Speaker
Fantastic gameplay, terrible artwork, in my opinion.
00:15:19
Speaker
You've got a bunch of people working out in bikinis and Speedos.
00:15:23
Speaker
And then for some odd reason, the artist painted himself on the back glass, butt naked, but he's got water covering him, watching a woman shower.
00:15:33
Speaker
That's kind of creepy.
00:15:34
Speaker
It is kind of creepy.
00:15:35
Speaker
And I didn't know this till Kate Martin, our friend Kate, had posted.
00:15:39
Speaker
I can't remember where she posted this.
00:15:40
Speaker
But she showed the picture.
00:15:42
Speaker
And so that was the artist that's staring at the girl showering.
00:15:45
Speaker
I'm like, why would you do that?
00:15:47
Speaker
Hey, 70s were a different time, right?
00:15:49
Speaker
You know, it's one of those where I think you can recognize the history of pinball.
00:15:54
Speaker
And
00:15:54
Speaker
I guess kind of accept it for what it was, but also I would, you know, this will get to, this will get to be a later conversation is that I would think that we've kind of moved on into, I would say a modern interpretation of what's appropriate and what's not.
00:16:11
Speaker
So.
00:16:12
Speaker
Yep.
00:16:13
Speaker
I agree.
00:16:14
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:14
Speaker
So, well, let's, let's move

Bizarre Personal Connection to Crime

00:16:17
Speaker
on really quick.
00:16:17
Speaker
I want to talk about people have been asking us.
00:16:20
Speaker
Okay.
00:16:20
Speaker
One thing is totally interesting is like,
00:16:23
Speaker
The Pinball Expo is going on right now.
00:16:26
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:16:27
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:28
Speaker
OK.
00:16:29
Speaker
I have been so busy at work this week that I have not been able to tune in at all for anything.
00:16:36
Speaker
So, Josh, is there anything that you know that's like I I was just kind of glancing through everything.
00:16:42
Speaker
I'm like, I really wish that I knew more about this, but I just have been so busy.
00:16:46
Speaker
I don't know.
00:16:47
Speaker
Honestly, every time I tune in, it's just two dudes sitting there talking about pinball.
00:16:52
Speaker
It's almost like a live stream of a podcast.
00:16:56
Speaker
So you're saying it's super boring to listen to two dudes talking about pinball.
00:17:00
Speaker
Maybe.
00:17:01
Speaker
I don't know.
00:17:04
Speaker
No, they've been good.
00:17:04
Speaker
They've been good.
00:17:05
Speaker
I mean, they've had a show right now.
00:17:10
Speaker
No, what I'm saying is they've been good.
00:17:12
Speaker
They had American Pinball on, Josh Coogler, and I think Joe Balser, and I can't remember who else was there.
00:17:20
Speaker
But they all sat there and chit-chatted.
00:17:21
Speaker
The problem is I've been watching via Dead Flip and other people that are watching with it.
00:17:27
Speaker
And so it doesn't help when you have a running commentary along with what's going on.
00:17:32
Speaker
So I guess it's like if me and you were talking while our audience that's listening is like talking to each other saying, hey, these guys are idiots.
00:17:40
Speaker
And, you know, I don't know.
00:17:44
Speaker
It's just kind of hard.
00:17:45
Speaker
It's kind of hard to get engaged.
00:17:46
Speaker
I guess I'll put it that way.
00:17:47
Speaker
At least if you're listening to us talk, then we're kind of giving you a recap and maybe our take on it.
00:17:52
Speaker
But it's...
00:17:54
Speaker
it's not the same.
00:17:55
Speaker
And I, and I feel bad for them because I'm glad that they're trying to do this because this is something that's interesting.
00:18:03
Speaker
Uh, but maybe it's, it's hard to get the same sort of vibe because when you're attending in person, it's, it's fun because you're seeing friends, it's a social thing.
00:18:13
Speaker
And if you're streaming it, it's, it's different.
00:18:17
Speaker
Yeah.
00:18:18
Speaker
I, I totally agree.
00:18:18
Speaker
I think that, I think you've hit the head, the nail right on the head is it's, it's hard to interact with people when,
00:18:23
Speaker
your event is solely for people to interact with each other.
00:18:28
Speaker
And so, and the numbers haven't been like, they're still good.
00:18:30
Speaker
I mean, they're getting a hundred, you know, a hundred, 150 viewers is when I've been watching and that's not including the people, the people watching via dead flip and all those that are, that are restreaming at verse via their stream as well.
00:18:42
Speaker
So, well, it would be nice to, I will go in and check out some of the extra stuff.
00:18:48
Speaker
So cool.
00:18:52
Speaker
And I haven't noticed any big announcements from Expo yet.
00:18:55
Speaker
I could be entirely wrong and people are like, dude, but we are recording Friday night and they've just been, Expo's just kind of starting today.
00:19:05
Speaker
So.
00:19:06
Speaker
They've done it the last two nights, but from my understanding, there's nothing been revealed.
00:19:11
Speaker
Because we still might have a CGC reveal.
00:19:13
Speaker
We might have... I can't remember who else is on the list.
00:19:17
Speaker
Definitely not spooky.
00:19:20
Speaker
Yeah, I was looking at everything.
00:19:22
Speaker
Tomorrow, I'm looking at Tilt, Haggis, Pinball Arcade, Borg, and now The Borg.
00:19:31
Speaker
Yeah, so...
00:19:32
Speaker
Steve Ritchie's talking.
00:19:33
Speaker
So I think they're doing as good as they possibly can.
00:19:37
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:38
Speaker
That reminds me, whatever happened to the pinball circus people?
00:19:41
Speaker
They had Mafia ready to go like a year ago.
00:19:45
Speaker
Not Mafia.
00:19:45
Speaker
What is it?
00:19:46
Speaker
The one that Mark Ritchie made.
00:19:49
Speaker
It's the Capcom game.
00:19:51
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:51
Speaker
Kingpin.
00:19:52
Speaker
Kingpin.
00:19:52
Speaker
Kingpin.
00:19:53
Speaker
Yes.
00:19:54
Speaker
Like whatever happened to Kingpin and they were also going to do pinball circus.
00:19:56
Speaker
And then like we haven't heard anything for two, three years now.
00:20:00
Speaker
You know, I think it's just shows that pinball is hard.
00:20:03
Speaker
And when you're trying to build something, even like an established one, there's capital involved.
00:20:09
Speaker
And when you're trying to do something, especially like a two man operation, which seems like it is, it's kind of hard when it's your hobby.
00:20:19
Speaker
Uh, I mean, even, uh, you know,

Keith Elwin's Avengers Design

00:20:21
Speaker
Keith and Randy, they were doing, uh, they were in Archer in their spare time and it was like four years.
00:20:28
Speaker
And that was just a kind of a whitewood with their own way of doing it.
00:20:34
Speaker
But it's, yeah.
00:20:36
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:37
Speaker
What are you talking about?
00:20:38
Speaker
Keith has made pinball easy, man.
00:20:39
Speaker
He's cranking those out once a year.
00:20:41
Speaker
Yeah, I know.
00:20:43
Speaker
Crazy, right?
00:20:45
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:46
Speaker
So from our last episode with Zombie Yeti, people have messaged us about the BYU professor story.
00:20:53
Speaker
And I decided we might as well just tell this on air because it's kind of a crazy story from my perspective.
00:20:59
Speaker
I didn't know that you actually...
00:21:01
Speaker
He was one of your professors.
00:21:03
Speaker
And so kind of interesting.
00:21:05
Speaker
So I want you to start the story and then I'll take it from where we discussed.
00:21:09
Speaker
And I have not actually told Scott this story.
00:21:11
Speaker
So everything he hears is first time.
00:21:15
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:17
Speaker
So I did mechanical engineering at BYU.
00:21:18
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:19
Speaker
And one of my professors, he taught solid state.
00:21:24
Speaker
Basically, he was a steel guy.
00:21:26
Speaker
So if you are ever really bored, you can look at a phase diagram of steel and you will actually understand why steel is so complex.
00:21:39
Speaker
And it depends on it depends on how it's cooled and the temperature and how long it's there.
00:21:48
Speaker
And it really does, you know, in the kind of the temperature and the carbon weight.
00:21:54
Speaker
And so there's like a crazy amount of physical chemistry that goes into how steel is, the quality steel.
00:22:06
Speaker
So that's a long answer to say that it's that that was the entire class is talking about how to use steel for different things.
00:22:16
Speaker
And he was the professor.
00:22:18
Speaker
He was kind of an interesting guy though.
00:22:22
Speaker
He was one of these guys who was one of these older professors who had been there for a long time and had a lot of interesting views on life and a little bit more of a, I guess, kind of out there.
00:22:41
Speaker
I don't want to say like a, he was a country boy, I guess.
00:22:46
Speaker
But, you know, it was always one of those things where you're kind of on the fringe of what a standard, I don't want to say normal, but I'll just say like a standard interpretation of laws and life and the stability of the government would be.
00:23:05
Speaker
Like, I don't want to call him a conspiracy theorist, but he seemed a little bit kind of one of those, you know, make sure you're...
00:23:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:14
Speaker
Okay.
00:23:14
Speaker
I'll put it out.
00:23:15
Speaker
Eccentric.
00:23:16
Speaker
And so just randomly, um, I found out like 10 years later that I saw in the news that he was killed.
00:23:25
Speaker
He had his throat slit and his son was a, a drug.
00:23:32
Speaker
He had a lot of history with drugs.
00:23:34
Speaker
And so the cops thought that his son was involved, uh, for money or something.
00:23:43
Speaker
And so
00:23:44
Speaker
They they interviewed him and he said, no, there were two other guys that were there.
00:23:48
Speaker
And they said, everyone says it's always two other guys.
00:23:52
Speaker
And so they put him in jail and he was in jail for about a year.
00:23:57
Speaker
And then later I found out that Vernal teased into it.
00:24:05
Speaker
And apparently this guy had a really exotic gun collection.
00:24:13
Speaker
And yes, that and at least the story that I heard that I'm sure you'll be able to fill the end of the story is that they arrested these guys from Bernal who ended up actually tying him up and killing him and stealing his guns.
00:24:28
Speaker
And so so they let the guys, the son and his wife or girlfriend out of jail.
00:24:34
Speaker
But it was just one of those things that just seemed a little bit out of Tiger King.
00:24:39
Speaker
So I don't I don't know.
00:24:41
Speaker
That's pretty much all I heard about the story, but I just thought was just so bizarre.
00:24:46
Speaker
So.
00:24:48
Speaker
Our high school here doesn't have a lot of money.
00:24:51
Speaker
We still get good money, and our high school is big.
00:24:55
Speaker
But I took CAD key.
00:24:56
Speaker
For those that have never done CAD key, you get to design stuff.
00:25:00
Speaker
Actually, they do it in pinball.
00:25:01
Speaker
You design stuff, and then you can actually print it out 3D.
00:25:05
Speaker
And we didn't have enough computers, and so we had to double up on partners.
00:25:08
Speaker
And I doubled up with a gentleman named Marty Bond.
00:25:12
Speaker
And Marty was never really at school.
00:25:17
Speaker
And I really enjoyed doing CAD key.
00:25:19
Speaker
It came really easy to me.
00:25:20
Speaker
I don't know what it was, but I was able to whip stuff out really quick.
00:25:24
Speaker
And we only had half the work for the semester because we had to split the computer and the teacher couldn't do a full work semester on us.
00:25:31
Speaker
And so he never showed up, never showed up.
00:25:33
Speaker
So I did all of his work on top of my work.
00:25:37
Speaker
And he showed up one day freaking out.
00:25:39
Speaker
He's already failing his other classes.
00:25:41
Speaker
He's probably just going to fail this class.
00:25:43
Speaker
And I told him, dude, just calm down.
00:25:45
Speaker
Calm down.
00:25:45
Speaker
Like, I've already done all your work.
00:25:47
Speaker
Don't worry about it.
00:25:48
Speaker
And he's like, you're joking me.
00:25:49
Speaker
And I said, no.
00:25:50
Speaker
Like, I had nothing else to do.
00:25:51
Speaker
This was back before smartphones.
00:25:54
Speaker
So a lot of you can relate.
00:25:56
Speaker
I had literally nothing else to do besides read books and maybe do homework from other classes.
00:26:00
Speaker
And so I just did his work because it was easy.
00:26:04
Speaker
And so he said, Josh, if you ever need it, I'm planning on becoming an assassin when I grow up.
00:26:11
Speaker
And if you ever need me to, I will kill someone for you.
00:26:14
Speaker
But the caveat is if I get caught, you go down with me.
00:26:18
Speaker
And we kind of laughed about it, right?
00:26:19
Speaker
Like I'm like, whatever.
00:26:20
Speaker
Like no one ever seriously grows up to be an assassin, right?
00:26:23
Speaker
Like it's not what you do with your life.
00:26:26
Speaker
And so fast forward a few years later and I run into Marty in Walmart.
00:26:33
Speaker
And we get reminiscent about the old days in high school and whatnot.
00:26:36
Speaker
And I bring up this part of the story.
00:26:38
Speaker
I say, hey, you remember when you said you'd kill anyone for me?
00:26:40
Speaker
You know, it's on the house because I did all that homework for you.
00:26:44
Speaker
And, you know, if I ever need it, I chuckled.
00:26:47
Speaker
And he gave me this really nervous laugh.
00:26:50
Speaker
And he's like, well, I got to get going.
00:26:52
Speaker
And he left.
00:26:53
Speaker
It was even two months later, they arrested him and another guy for the murder of the professor.
00:26:59
Speaker
And here

Community Interactions and Market Trends

00:27:00
Speaker
I am.
00:27:00
Speaker
And like you said, they took the son and the girlfriend into jail because they thought it was them.
00:27:06
Speaker
So he had been running around for at least six months.
00:27:11
Speaker
He'd already murdered this dude and hadn't been caught yet.
00:27:15
Speaker
And here I'm joking with a murderer about killing people.
00:27:20
Speaker
Yeah, that's kind of messed up.
00:27:22
Speaker
Yeah, that's the end of my story.
00:27:26
Speaker
Wow.
00:27:28
Speaker
Needless to say, I haven't talked to him since then, and that's probably for the best.
00:27:33
Speaker
But it always made me laugh because, like, do you ever listen to Dane Cook?
00:27:35
Speaker
Do you remember that comedian from 2000s?
00:27:38
Speaker
Yeah, apparently the guy that got accused of stealing a lot of jokes from other comedians.
00:27:44
Speaker
That guy.
00:27:44
Speaker
So he had a joke where he said that there's always that one guy at work that you never know if he's going to come to work with a shotgun the next day.
00:27:52
Speaker
So always come to work with a Snickers and give him a Snickers.
00:27:55
Speaker
So that one actually does show up with the shotgun.
00:27:57
Speaker
He gets to your cubicle and go, oh, thanks for the Snickers.
00:28:01
Speaker
And he keeps on going.
00:28:03
Speaker
And so I feel like this was my, I gave the dude the Snickers so I could live kind of thing.
00:28:08
Speaker
Either that or he's like, dude, this guy doesn't going to kill people.
00:28:11
Speaker
So.
00:28:13
Speaker
The fact that he said, when I grow up, I want to be a, it, that seems straight out of gross point blank.
00:28:18
Speaker
You know, when he goes back for his reunion, people are like, yeah, what are you doing?
00:28:23
Speaker
He's like, I'm a professional killer.
00:28:25
Speaker
Like, do you get dental?
00:28:26
Speaker
Do you get dental with that?
00:28:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:30
Speaker
Cause no one actually thinks it's serious.
00:28:32
Speaker
Cause that's crazy.
00:28:34
Speaker
Well, I never took him seriously because he joked about either being an assassin or a porn star.
00:28:37
Speaker
So seriously, how can you take someone seriously like that?
00:28:40
Speaker
You know, it sounds like one of those 70s B-movies right there.
00:28:44
Speaker
He's an assassin porn star.
00:28:47
Speaker
That is crazy.
00:28:49
Speaker
But I hope that appeases your guys' appetite about the BYU professor story.
00:28:53
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:28:54
Speaker
And the sad thing is I think that this guy was a super nice guy, but I think he was kind of...
00:28:59
Speaker
You know, when you get really deep into a strange hobby and having exotic guns, like maybe weaponry, you may want to be careful about who you're associating with.
00:29:12
Speaker
Yeah, just I agree.
00:29:14
Speaker
Just a pro tip, you know, just find out.
00:29:16
Speaker
Well, first off, ask if you're a killer and they have to, by law, answer you appropriately.
00:29:23
Speaker
And so, geez, that is nuts.
00:29:27
Speaker
Yeah, what they had done, they had killed him.
00:29:29
Speaker
They took all of his guns.
00:29:30
Speaker
We have a place here called Remember the Main.
00:29:33
Speaker
It's a park, but it's up a canyon.
00:29:36
Speaker
And so it's... You guys have one there by Lehigh.
00:29:39
Speaker
It's down Provo Canyon.
00:29:40
Speaker
It's similar to that.
00:29:41
Speaker
You're in the canyon next to the river kind of thing.
00:29:44
Speaker
And so they had taken their guns up to Remember the Main and buried them there.
00:29:48
Speaker
And they were going to leave them there until everything kind of cooled off and went away.
00:29:53
Speaker
And they never got the opportunity.
00:29:54
Speaker
They got caught and...
00:29:56
Speaker
they went and uncovered the guns up there.
00:29:58
Speaker
Remember the main.
00:29:58
Speaker
So, yeah, I don't think this guy was very smart and just kind of, no, no nuts.
00:30:05
Speaker
Okay.
00:30:06
Speaker
So he did have an accomplice, but the accomplice ratted out and told it, he said it was all Marty's idea.
00:30:12
Speaker
And yeah, so, but that's it.
00:30:15
Speaker
That's the story.
00:30:16
Speaker
Wow.
00:30:17
Speaker
Okay.
00:30:18
Speaker
All right.
00:30:18
Speaker
It sounds crazy.
00:30:21
Speaker
So let's, let's move on.
00:30:21
Speaker
You got your Avengers.
00:30:22
Speaker
I want to know how this plays.
00:30:23
Speaker
Like people are dying to know how Avengers plays.
00:30:27
Speaker
So I truly feel that Keith was setting out and we really will, we'll reach out to Keith and we'd love to have him on maybe when it's getting to 1.0 code.
00:30:40
Speaker
So he can talk.
00:30:42
Speaker
We had Jurassic Park when it was 1.0 code.
00:30:44
Speaker
So it was actually great because we were able to talk about the nuances of everything.
00:30:49
Speaker
This feels like he's going for an epic Lord of the Rings journey.
00:30:55
Speaker
Um, if you, if you watched, he posted on Facebook one time, uh, about the outlanes and he says he pointed to the screw and he's like, don't move this.
00:31:07
Speaker
And I was like, huh, that's interesting.
00:31:09
Speaker
Cause it's actually stock.
00:31:11
Speaker
It comes with the aliens kind of closed off.
00:31:15
Speaker
Yes.
00:31:15
Speaker
So you can have a longer game and.
00:31:20
Speaker
I don't know what he's figured out with his shots, but with Jurassic park, I felt like there's the, the left ramp, which is super easy to, to hit the right ramp is still kind of hard for me to hit, but I can get it.
00:31:32
Speaker
And that, uh, Raptor tower is, it's still kind of a luck shot for me.
00:31:37
Speaker
Um, between Raptor and O shot.
00:31:40
Speaker
Yeah, it's just kind of, you know, it's just hard because this is the challenge with upper flippers is that it's usually the ball is going screaming fast past it that you're just trying to blindly flip as fast as you can to time it.
00:31:57
Speaker
And it usually doesn't really go that easily.
00:32:01
Speaker
And that could be a design issue.
00:32:02
Speaker
That could be designed to be able to say, well, it's a challenging shot and you need to earn it.
00:32:08
Speaker
Or...
00:32:10
Speaker
You could say that it's that maybe there's a way that you could make that upper flipper more repeatable.
00:32:19
Speaker
So on Avengers, one of the ramps is really well designed.
00:32:24
Speaker
It's the banana ramp that you shoot and it goes up and it comes and it makes kind of like a Nike swoosh.
00:32:31
Speaker
and drops above the flipper, but it starts rolling almost like in Jurassic Park, where the up post on the left flip or how it goes up and it stalls the ball and then it starts rolling.
00:32:44
Speaker
So it gives you a consistent shot.
00:32:47
Speaker
So you have that.
00:32:48
Speaker
And so the you can do like multiple, multiple shots up there and
00:32:56
Speaker
It's just really interesting that you can use the upper flipper and the upper flipper is quite it feels just like another flipper.
00:33:04
Speaker
The shots are feel so good in that they're they're kind of where you feel like they should be.
00:33:13
Speaker
And I know that they move shots around all the time, but at least the way I play it, it feels like when I'm trying to hit the Avengers Tower, I can hit it almost every time.
00:33:24
Speaker
And if I'm trying to hit
00:33:26
Speaker
the Captain Marvel ramp.
00:33:28
Speaker
I can hit it about every time.
00:33:30
Speaker
So it just feels like either I'm dialed into this or it's dialed in.
00:33:39
Speaker
It's crazy complex in that it just seems like there's so much to do in the game.
00:33:45
Speaker
Still haven't quite figured out, like when you hit it in the subway, so you activate the
00:33:53
Speaker
this spinning ring, the Sorcerer Supreme spinning ring, and it opens up like a circus Voltaire and then it drops down there.
00:34:02
Speaker
But I don't know if at some point you will be able to see all the balls locked under there, but it just seems like it advances the balls right now.
00:34:12
Speaker
And so maybe I haven't been playing it a lot.
00:34:14
Speaker
I actually did get a GC.
00:34:16
Speaker
Very nice.
00:34:17
Speaker
And I don't know if that's because I'm if the GCs are exceptionally low, which is entirely possible, or that not maybe all the code is in there with the way the balls are locked in the subway, because I think the
00:34:30
Speaker
The whole point of that is to give you a visual cue on, hey, you have all these balls locked.
00:34:38
Speaker
I also haven't.
00:34:40
Speaker
Keith put a video out there that said his favorite thing to do, and it has the balls that are locked up into the tower and they were kind of locked together like two balls dangling.
00:34:51
Speaker
And I I've locked balls, but it almost seems like a virtual lock right now where I get up there and it gets it and that drops it down.
00:35:00
Speaker
Um, well, Keith has mentioned you, you have to do something very specific to be able to get two balls.
00:35:05
Speaker
Okay.
00:35:06
Speaker
Well, I haven't figured that out.
00:35:07
Speaker
And I, you know, one day when I'm as good as Keith, I'll be able to figure that out.
00:35:11
Speaker
Um, but no, it just, it feels like a fun game.
00:35:14
Speaker
And if you look at the lower play field, uh, you know, there are, so like attack for Mars, how it seems like all the balls are funneled to go straight down the middle.
00:35:25
Speaker
Yeah, it's it's kind of it's it's a drain monster.
00:35:30
Speaker
This doesn't feel that way.
00:35:31
Speaker
It feels like it's intended to have the ball play longer.
00:35:36
Speaker
So it has that, you know, Lord of the Rings, how I'm not saying Lord of the Rings is an easy game.
00:35:41
Speaker
It's not.
00:35:42
Speaker
But the intent is to have the ball play longer because there's so much in the game that they want you to experience more.
00:35:49
Speaker
Correct.
00:35:50
Speaker
Yes.
00:35:50
Speaker
If they if and conversely, when I play Turtles, Turtles is really hard and it still is very brutal.
00:35:57
Speaker
Yes.
00:35:58
Speaker
So it feels kind of nice to have that game that is that's designed to have you explore it a lot more and to get deeper into the game.
00:36:10
Speaker
And Keith has told us that he doesn't want games to last.
00:36:14
Speaker
He said, I want you to get to the end of the game in 20 to 30 minutes.
00:36:17
Speaker
So, you know, Valinor, it takes two hours together.
00:36:22
Speaker
So I feel that it really is my go to game right now going.
00:36:28
Speaker
It just feels so good.
00:36:30
Speaker
You feel like a pinball God playing this game.
00:36:35
Speaker
And it may actually be kind of up there as
00:36:39
Speaker
What game do you want to play?
00:36:41
Speaker
I want to play that one.
00:36:43
Speaker
Awesome.
00:36:44
Speaker
Well, and I'm excited for this.
00:36:46
Speaker
So I decided I would watch till the actual stream.
00:36:49
Speaker
I know like the Ellie's sold out however ridiculously fast they did, but I wanted to see actual gameplay.

Avengers Pinball Review and Purchase Decisions

00:36:56
Speaker
And after watching Keith and Raymond Davidson play, I just decided this was what I was getting.
00:37:02
Speaker
And the funny part is that stuff premiered, what, not even a week after the actual reveal trailer.
00:37:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:37:09
Speaker
And I messaged Zach and I said, hey, I want to get a premium when we look in.
00:37:16
Speaker
And he's like, dude, like December.
00:37:19
Speaker
I'm like, we're in September, though.
00:37:22
Speaker
And he's like, yeah, premiums are ridiculous right now.
00:37:25
Speaker
And last time, I can't remember if it was Zach I talked to.
00:37:28
Speaker
We still talk to JJ at Game Exchange a lot, too.
00:37:32
Speaker
One of them said, like, premiums are out to, like, March right now.
00:37:35
Speaker
That's crazy.
00:37:36
Speaker
Like, has any other game ever had this kind of lead time?
00:37:41
Speaker
I don't know.
00:37:42
Speaker
But it's great to hear that the game is doing wonderfully.
00:37:46
Speaker
I haven't heard a negative thing about it yet.
00:37:49
Speaker
It astounds me because Jurassic Park came out a year ago and people are like, this is amazing.
00:37:53
Speaker
I don't know how Keith does it.
00:37:54
Speaker
How is he ever going to top this?
00:37:56
Speaker
And now I look at Avengers and, and with you and your positive review and other people I've spoke to that just love it pro premium.
00:38:04
Speaker
Everyone's loving it.
00:38:06
Speaker
And it's, it's just like, I don't know how Keith does it.
00:38:09
Speaker
It just, it's, it's amazing.
00:38:10
Speaker
So, yeah, well, it's, he's taking it new directions.
00:38:14
Speaker
So this is the reason why you need new designers.
00:38:17
Speaker
You can't,
00:38:18
Speaker
I love Steve Ritchie, but you can't just have Steve Ritchie designing pinball machines for 30 years because at some point you get, you're kind of chasing yourself.
00:38:30
Speaker
And so if you had Ritchie and Borg and all the people who have been doing it for a long time, you kind of get in ruts.
00:38:37
Speaker
And it's not bad because I think they were making great games, but they tend to, you want to play it safe because you're selling pinball machines.
00:38:48
Speaker
And if you make a weird pinball machine like WWE and no one buys it, then it's a big financial hit.
00:38:54
Speaker
So I totally understand that.
00:38:56
Speaker
But it's nice to see what he and Eric are doing since they are the new guys on the block and what they are moving.
00:39:06
Speaker
They're moving the needle on what it means to design a pinball machine.
00:39:12
Speaker
No, and I agree with you.
00:39:13
Speaker
And I think the thing is, too, with Keith is he's taking old concepts and breathing new life into them.
00:39:20
Speaker
Something as simple as... Let's take Jurassic Park, for example.
00:39:24
Speaker
You hit so many shots, it keeps lighting them at the spinner, and it gives you... What is it like?
00:39:30
Speaker
I don't know if it times the spinner or what it does, but when you hit that spinner finally...
00:39:36
Speaker
It just, you get all those points.
00:39:38
Speaker
It's fantastic.
00:39:39
Speaker
I mean, look at the, uh, the bingo card.
00:39:42
Speaker
We haven't seen a bingo card in years.
00:39:44
Speaker
And I

Guns N' Roses Pinball Release and Impact

00:39:45
Speaker
think it's because it,
00:39:46
Speaker
they're kind of difficult to deal with on certain games, but this way it's just so straightforward and whatnot.
00:39:52
Speaker
It's amazing.
00:39:55
Speaker
I don't know.
00:39:55
Speaker
There's just certain aspects Keith has latched onto and it's like, well, why has no one done this and tried it this way?
00:40:03
Speaker
And I think that's just, it's great to have that in pinball now.
00:40:07
Speaker
Don't get me wrong.
00:40:07
Speaker
I love Steve Richie.
00:40:08
Speaker
I love Lyman Sheets.
00:40:10
Speaker
I love all those guys.
00:40:11
Speaker
I love all the designers, the coders and stuff.
00:40:13
Speaker
But I feel like Keith and his team is taking a new direction.
00:40:17
Speaker
And it's wonderful.
00:40:18
Speaker
It's wonderful to see.
00:40:20
Speaker
I think it's also inspiring the other guys, too.
00:40:22
Speaker
It's one of those where, you know, you've seen teams where you get a new guy on.
00:40:28
Speaker
You're like, you know what?
00:40:29
Speaker
I can do that or I can do something else.
00:40:31
Speaker
And so it really does push them.
00:40:32
Speaker
So I think it's good.
00:40:34
Speaker
Well, let's take Turtles, for example, you know, because I'm pretty for sure Keith helped a little bit.
00:40:40
Speaker
You know, they all help.
00:40:42
Speaker
They all go up to the machine and say, hey, this is what you can do.
00:40:44
Speaker
But Turtles does feel different from a Borg.
00:40:46
Speaker
I mean, it still plays like a Borg X fast.
00:40:48
Speaker
But I just I don't look at Turtles and go, yeah, that's Tron.
00:40:52
Speaker
Yeah, that's Metallica.
00:40:53
Speaker
Yeah, that's because a lot of people are afraid of that.
00:40:55
Speaker
I know when we talked about Turtles a year and a half ago, people were like, well, we don't want it to be Metallica Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever.
00:41:05
Speaker
We want something fresh and new.
00:41:07
Speaker
And I feel like it is that with Turtles.
00:41:09
Speaker
It's brutal.
00:41:10
Speaker
It's fast.
00:41:10
Speaker
It kicks you in the teeth, but it's fun.
00:41:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:41:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:41:15
Speaker
Speaking of new and fresh, then we just had Guns N' Roses released.
00:41:19
Speaker
Holy crap.
00:41:20
Speaker
Where do we even start with this?
00:41:21
Speaker
Where do you want to start with it?
00:41:23
Speaker
Okay, I'm going to start with the best PR release on a pinball machine so far.
00:41:31
Speaker
I agree.
00:41:32
Speaker
Now, I will say that also it helps that you have an iconic soundtrack like Guns N' Roses being able to play in the background.
00:41:43
Speaker
And so you have the model playing the game and she's having a great time and she's dancing to Welcome to the Jungle.
00:41:50
Speaker
And yeah, it does make it really good.
00:41:53
Speaker
And so I wouldn't be surprised if there was if they were able to be using some sort of
00:42:01
Speaker
I don't know, some sort of assistance or suggestions from Guns N' Roses because they're in the promotion business to be able to get something together.
00:42:10
Speaker
But that trailer was great.
00:42:13
Speaker
And I thought that Stern had done a great job up till now.
00:42:18
Speaker
And I think JJP took it to a next level on this one.
00:42:23
Speaker
I agree.
00:42:23
Speaker
And I want to commend Kim Cronwell and all those that are involved with this.
00:42:30
Speaker
I mean, I don't know if it's strictly because of Kim.
00:42:32
Speaker
Like you said, I don't know if it's because Guns N' Roses have some PR presence and whatnot.
00:42:39
Speaker
Slash has been very involved with this project.
00:42:44
Speaker
From day one, I feel like this has definitely set a new standard of the way that pinball machines should be revealed.
00:42:51
Speaker
And that's just me.
00:42:54
Speaker
And the really cool part is the community involvement in it.
00:42:59
Speaker
How hard is it to call it Buffalo and say, hey, we know that you've bought all of our games.
00:43:04
Speaker
We know you're going to buy this one.
00:43:05
Speaker
We'll give you a couple days lead time.
00:43:08
Speaker
Because Kevin said he hadn't even seen this game.
00:43:12
Speaker
The first time he saw it was when he unboxed it.
00:43:15
Speaker
But he set it up and he did what was an hour and a half of play.
00:43:18
Speaker
And you've got the Super Awesome Pinball Show doing the interview with Eric Minier.
00:43:23
Speaker
And straight down the middle coming in to do the tour or the factory going through with Eric and Keith and all them talking about this game.
00:43:34
Speaker
And it's just...
00:43:36
Speaker
The marketing for this was spot on.
00:43:37
Speaker
I think they attempted this with Willy Wonka, but it came and it just didn't hit the mark.
00:43:43
Speaker
But this time it was spot on.
00:43:45
Speaker
And congratulations.
00:43:46
Speaker
My hat is off to you guys.
00:43:48
Speaker
Ken, you did a fantastic job.
00:43:50
Speaker
Yeah, it's the natural progression, right?
00:43:54
Speaker
We've seen pulling off the sheet at expos.
00:43:58
Speaker
Okay, come up and play it.
00:43:59
Speaker
Okay, that's fun.
00:44:01
Speaker
But everybody's kind of breaking shots and they're trying to figure out games and all that.
00:44:06
Speaker
This is hey.
00:44:07
Speaker
And it was also, hey, we have them by them.
00:44:11
Speaker
Yep.
00:44:12
Speaker
So that that's that's what you need to do.
00:44:16
Speaker
That that is how modern pinball manufacturing has to be.
00:44:19
Speaker
It's hey, by the way, this is available right now.
00:44:23
Speaker
Go get it.
00:44:24
Speaker
What's crazy to me is they've never had a CE sellout, correct?
00:44:28
Speaker
Besides, they never fulfilled all the pirates.
00:44:31
Speaker
No, they did.
00:44:32
Speaker
Pirates sold out.
00:44:33
Speaker
But do you count that because they stopped?
00:44:36
Speaker
Like they had all those cancellations and then they stopped selling them and stuff like that.
00:44:40
Speaker
Did they sell out this?
00:44:41
Speaker
I still think they sold out the CEA, but I could be wrong.
00:44:44
Speaker
But I know that Dialed In kind of languished along and that didn't have the same thing.
00:44:51
Speaker
Willy Wonka is the same way?
00:44:52
Speaker
Yeah, it's certainly having that iconic thing that...
00:44:57
Speaker
And people like the rock experience.
00:44:59
Speaker
They like that.
00:45:00
Speaker
And so I was, okay, I was surprised because I have bought machines that are around $10,000.
00:45:07
Speaker
And I recognize that I can sell them along when I'm done with them for close to the same figure.
00:45:18
Speaker
I maybe lose a few hundred dollars, but that's the price of renting a game for a while.
00:45:22
Speaker
However, when they started coming out with CEs that are $1,250, and...
00:45:27
Speaker
add shipping on top of that.
00:45:28
Speaker
So you're really looking at 1300.
00:45:29
Speaker
I was a little shocked and I thought I, I wouldn't do this, but I can't tell you how many people that I knew that were buying the game who said, huh, I'm trying to debate on if I should get the CE.
00:45:47
Speaker
And that was a, that was an eye opener for me.
00:45:50
Speaker
Um, there are,
00:45:51
Speaker
I've met some, I guess some very wealthy pinball collectors just by going, just by meeting them through the hobby.
00:46:01
Speaker
Uh, and it does surprise me that there is that market, which I never thought would happen when pirates had the collector's edition.
00:46:09
Speaker
I thought, yeah, this is not going to happen.
00:46:11
Speaker
And it does now the, the, the converse thing is that when you're charging that much,
00:46:19
Speaker
you can put more into a game.
00:46:23
Speaker
So when you're looking at the, like the original Iron Man, or you're looking at Tron, which they're great games.
00:46:30
Speaker
But when you compare those games to games now, it's, it's feels very stripped down.
00:46:38
Speaker
It can still be fun.
00:46:39
Speaker
I'm not saying they're not fun, but I'm saying they're not packed.
00:46:44
Speaker
Yeah.
00:46:44
Speaker
And the,
00:46:46
Speaker
The increase in cost has obviously increased the build-in materials that the designer is able to put in a machine, which is the reason why you get a game like Guns N' Roses, which is so crazy packed.
00:46:59
Speaker
What did you think when you first saw Guns N' Roses?
00:47:03
Speaker
You know, honestly, it got me excited.
00:47:05
Speaker
The first thing I looked at was, like, after it played and whatnot...
00:47:11
Speaker
I've discussed this before.
00:47:12
Speaker
I enjoyed Growns and Roses growing up.
00:47:14
Speaker
I really liked Appetite for Destruction, but I never really considered myself a GNR fan.
00:47:20
Speaker
So that was the problem with this title.
00:47:22
Speaker
I felt like it could go either way.
00:47:24
Speaker
But after the way that they revealed this, I was like, man, I had FOMO setting in, right?
00:47:28
Speaker
Fear of missing out real quick.
00:47:31
Speaker
And I was like, well, I really want to see the standard.
00:47:34
Speaker
And after seeing that, pretty much the upper play field is gone for the standard.
00:47:39
Speaker
Yeah.
00:47:39
Speaker
Yeah.
00:47:40
Speaker
I was like, heck, you've got to buy the LE if you're going to buy this game.
00:47:44
Speaker
And at $9,500 plus shipping, I just can't.
00:47:49
Speaker
Don't get me wrong.
00:47:50
Speaker
JJP's great quality.
00:47:53
Speaker
They're packed games.
00:47:54
Speaker
You are getting a fantastic game.
00:47:58
Speaker
But it prices me out of the market.
00:48:00
Speaker
I'd rather have a JP Pro and a Turtles Pro.
00:48:05
Speaker
for that price i mean you're getting pretty close to two pros um i mean yeah you're spending a couple thousand more but the thing that really spoke to me is i felt like this not was just a gnr pinball machine but it's like a musician pinball machine like i've told you people that i played in a band before i think the biggest concert we ever played was for 3 000 people no more near the 50 million that gnr has done
00:48:31
Speaker
But the thing about being on the stage in front of people and trying to encapsulate that is hard, especially if no one's been on the stage to rock out in front of fans.
00:48:39
Speaker
And so I felt like this pinball machine encapsulated that.
00:48:44
Speaker
I love the Gibson head.
00:48:45
Speaker
I love the Fender head.
00:48:47
Speaker
I love the drumsticks.
00:48:49
Speaker
Just even the pop bumpers that are like a drum kit.
00:48:53
Speaker
And it's got the hi-hat that moves.
00:48:55
Speaker
And it's got the music symbols.
00:48:56
Speaker
And it's got the concert footage.
00:48:57
Speaker
And it's got... I mean, this game...
00:49:01
Speaker
Regardless if you're a Guns N' Roses fan, if you're a musician, it should speak to you.
00:49:07
Speaker
And I feel like it does.
00:49:09
Speaker
And it just, it is an amazing game.
00:49:12
Speaker
But I'm a broke kid, so it's out of my league.
00:49:15
Speaker
Okay, so let's assume that, well, okay, you could do it.
00:49:20
Speaker
If you really wanted to, you could, you could sell, sell, um, two of your games and you could buy it.
00:49:27
Speaker
Right?
00:49:27
Speaker
Yes.
00:49:28
Speaker
True.
00:49:28
Speaker
Yes.
00:49:29
Speaker
Yes.
00:49:30
Speaker
So, uh, when I say the games that have come out, so you have Avengers, um, the options are, would you buy it?

Buying Strategies and Resale Considerations

00:49:41
Speaker
Would you play it?
00:49:43
Speaker
Or would you walk by it at a bar?
00:49:45
Speaker
Like just, I'm not that interested.
00:49:47
Speaker
I'm going to go somewhere else.
00:49:49
Speaker
I'm definitely playing it first.
00:49:51
Speaker
Okay.
00:49:53
Speaker
That's where the hesitation is with me.
00:49:54
Speaker
This is Guns N' Roses or Avengers.
00:49:58
Speaker
Which one?
00:49:59
Speaker
Guns N' Roses.
00:50:00
Speaker
Because you committed to buying Avengers.
00:50:04
Speaker
You committed to buying Avengers without playing it.
00:50:07
Speaker
But the problem with Avengers is, and I know this is what other people have discussed, JJPs aren't as readily available on location as Sterns are.
00:50:17
Speaker
And so I've played Iron Maiden.
00:50:20
Speaker
I've played Jurassic Park.
00:50:22
Speaker
I know how Keith games play.
00:50:25
Speaker
And so it wasn't that big of a leap for me to jump to an Avengers.
00:50:29
Speaker
The only Eric Minier game I've ever played is Pirates.
00:50:32
Speaker
Well, I guess it's the only game he's ever released.
00:50:34
Speaker
But I only played it once.
00:50:36
Speaker
I played it for a while, but it was the prototype machine.
00:50:39
Speaker
They brought it to Utah for one of our pinball shows that we did.
00:50:44
Speaker
And it was hard to get a feel for it and translate that to the next, like into, cause they'd already announced that they weren't going to be doing this triple spinning disc.
00:50:54
Speaker
They already announced they weren't going to do some of this stuff.
00:50:56
Speaker
And they made a big mistake.
00:50:58
Speaker
They made a big mistake to continue to haul around the example of the triple spinning disc.
00:51:03
Speaker
They should have immediately sent out a replacement game.
00:51:07
Speaker
They should have, but I played it and it played great.
00:51:10
Speaker
It was fun.
00:51:11
Speaker
It had a line, so I couldn't really thoroughly enjoy it as much as I could, but it was in the back of my mind, like I'm playing this, but how much of this is going to be different here when they actually released the game?
00:51:22
Speaker
Right.
00:51:23
Speaker
And they also, well, one of the problems too, is the play field on the prototype did not rock back and forth adequately.
00:51:30
Speaker
So I think they did themselves a disservice with not updating the prototypes because they
00:51:35
Speaker
I think people felt, well, this isn't even the game that I'm going to get.
00:51:39
Speaker
And so that that eroded sales, too.
00:51:42
Speaker
I agree.
00:51:43
Speaker
So I think that's the problem is like, I've played plenty, I've played Keith's other two games.
00:51:48
Speaker
And so it's not hard for me to envision what his third one's going to be like, especially after seeing photos and whatnot.
00:51:53
Speaker
And it's hard with a JJP game because there's a lot of depth to these games.
00:51:59
Speaker
It's hard to play it at one setting and then get a great feel for it.
00:52:03
Speaker
I totally agree that the code is way too deep and I'm,
00:52:10
Speaker
JJP games are like a crock pot.
00:52:11
Speaker
They take a long time to cook and long time to experience and a long time to explore.
00:52:18
Speaker
Stern games are more.
00:52:22
Speaker
I don't want to say they're shallower, but I think they're less diverse in that the matrix.
00:52:30
Speaker
I don't know how to describe it.
00:52:31
Speaker
That flow chart that Keith always puts out for his games.
00:52:38
Speaker
Keith Johnson.
00:52:39
Speaker
puts out for his games and it's pretty complex.
00:52:43
Speaker
Sterns don't seem to be as complex.
00:52:45
Speaker
They have certain awards like Jurassic Park has the different awards, you know, the DNA award, you know, all that stuff.
00:52:54
Speaker
But it's it's kind of a bonus to the game.
00:52:58
Speaker
And you're still following a similar path, but it's it's a little more straightforward.
00:53:05
Speaker
So, and the other thing about Sterns too is, is they, you can flip them really quickly.
00:53:11
Speaker
Like if I get a game in that I don't enjoy, I like, if I decided tomorrow I want to sell turtles, I know three people in the state that would take it.
00:53:19
Speaker
No problems, no questions asked.
00:53:21
Speaker
They would just take it at a reasonable price.
00:53:23
Speaker
Right.
00:53:24
Speaker
I would probably, I would either, well, I probably wouldn't break even, but I mean, like you said, you lose a couple hundred bucks.
00:53:31
Speaker
You'd get your money back.
00:53:33
Speaker
Correct.
00:53:35
Speaker
With JJPs, I don't know that.
00:53:38
Speaker
Wizard of Oz has been out for how many years now?
00:53:40
Speaker
But I see them sell for six grand.
00:53:43
Speaker
Hobbits.
00:53:44
Speaker
Hobbits were selling for how much when they came out first?
00:53:46
Speaker
I don't know anyone that'll pay over six grand for a Hobbit.
00:53:50
Speaker
Dialed in.
00:53:50
Speaker
Same thing.
00:53:51
Speaker
It's like you spent $9,000.
00:53:52
Speaker
You're going to be lucky if you get six to seven out of it.
00:53:56
Speaker
Same with Willy Wonka.
00:53:57
Speaker
Okay, I won't say that about Willy Wonka because Willy Wonka is newer and we don't have a really good timeline of it selling.
00:54:04
Speaker
Granted, Guns N' Roses is a fantastic theme.
00:54:06
Speaker
It's what people want.
00:54:08
Speaker
Pirates has really retained its value.
00:54:10
Speaker
Our friend Joe Lemire with the Pinball Players podcast just sold his standard with a bunch of mods on it for like 13.
00:54:19
Speaker
And so like, congratulations, dude.
00:54:20
Speaker
That's awesome.
00:54:22
Speaker
But for the most part, JJPs don't have a really reputable... Like, I don't mind losing a couple hundred bucks.
00:54:30
Speaker
I have a hard time losing a couple thousand dollars on a pinball machine.
00:54:33
Speaker
I, I, I feel less worried about that.
00:54:37
Speaker
I think guns and roses will certainly hold on to its value.
00:54:40
Speaker
Um, I don't think it's going to be something that's going to change hands a lot, but I think that once you do get to a certain price point, it is harder to move.
00:54:50
Speaker
I still feel with wizard of Oz, it's going to, you're still going to get roughly what you pay for.
00:54:57
Speaker
Um,
00:54:59
Speaker
But, you know, who knows?
00:55:01
Speaker
Pinball is always a โ€“ it's always a gamble, but I would guarantee whatever you buy on your pinball machine, you will at least get 80% to 90% of what you paid.
00:55:10
Speaker
Yeah.
00:55:11
Speaker
Well, and it must be a good โ€“ it's a good sign when the CE sell out in less than like four hours or whatever it was.
00:55:18
Speaker
It's a great theme.
00:55:21
Speaker
Other themes that come out because they โ€“ when people talk about โ€“ I saw some people say, well, are they relevant?
00:55:27
Speaker
I'm like, well โ€“
00:55:28
Speaker
They are the current 401k tour out there that people.
00:55:34
Speaker
The highest grossing tour of all time.
00:55:36
Speaker
Yeah.
00:55:37
Speaker
People always wanted to see them.
00:55:39
Speaker
And so they were in their fight for 20 plus years.
00:55:44
Speaker
And now they got back together and they put together an amazing concert.
00:55:48
Speaker
My friend went to it.
00:55:49
Speaker
I saw the tickets and the tickets were like 250 bucks.
00:55:53
Speaker
And I thought, eh, no.
00:55:55
Speaker
But she went and she said, no, it's three hours and it was awesome.
00:55:58
Speaker
And I was like, oh, okay, well, all right.
00:56:01
Speaker
I'm glad.
00:56:04
Speaker
So that's why I think that they're a little more relevant because people have been wanting to see them.
00:56:12
Speaker
Like Devil Upward and Journey, or Motley Crue or all those other ones, they're still touring.
00:56:19
Speaker
Like there's not really much of a demand because if you miss them this year, you can see them next year.
00:56:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:26
Speaker
Well, besides the whole COVID thing, but yeah, I get what you're saying.
00:56:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:30
Speaker
So, so I, okay, this is, this, this is one thing I want to point out that I'm very, very impressed with.
00:56:37
Speaker
So they actually have slash as the co-designer for this game.
00:56:42
Speaker
And this, I think what Guns N' Roses has proven is that theme integration is just important to a certain part of the community as even gameplay.
00:56:54
Speaker
Because let's all admit this.
00:56:57
Speaker
If CE sold out in the last four hours, that means no one's played this game yet, right?
00:57:02
Speaker
You don't know how it plays.
00:57:04
Speaker
It sold solely off of theme and integration.
00:57:07
Speaker
And I guarantee it's because Slash had a hand in it.
00:57:10
Speaker
If you listen to the Super Awesome Pinball Show and the Eric interview, if you listen to the Jersey Jack Pinball podcast with the Slash and Eric interview, there are so many times where they hit a road bump on licensing.
00:57:23
Speaker
My favorite one is when they're talking about Live or Let Die.
00:57:26
Speaker
It's a Paul McCartney song.
00:57:28
Speaker
Live and Let Die.
00:57:30
Speaker
live and let die, uh, guns and roses had, had done their own version for use your illusion one or two.
00:57:36
Speaker
I can't remember which album it's on.
00:57:38
Speaker
Um, and it's, it's almost become a guns and rose staple, even though it's a Paul McCartney song and Eric being the orchestra nerd wanted that song on guns and roses because, you know, just everything about that song.
00:57:51
Speaker
Um,
00:57:52
Speaker
And Eric ran into road bump after road bump with licensing.
00:57:56
Speaker
The problem is, is it's got multiple licensing.
00:57:59
Speaker
It's just not one licensor.
00:58:01
Speaker
And it just had felt like an abandon all hope kind of situation.
00:58:07
Speaker
And he ends up talking to Slash.
00:58:10
Speaker
I can't remember how long they've been fighting to get this.
00:58:13
Speaker
And Slash is like, are we good to go with everything?
00:58:15
Speaker
And Eric's like, everything except for live and let die.
00:58:19
Speaker
And he's like, what's the problem we're having?
00:58:21
Speaker
And he's like, slash, we can't.
00:58:22
Speaker
It's it's Paul McCartney.
00:58:23
Speaker
Like, we can't get this license locked down.
00:58:26
Speaker
And slash is like, give me 15 minutes.
00:58:29
Speaker
Within 15 minutes, throw on a three way call.
00:58:32
Speaker
It's slash Paul freaking McCartney and Eric.
00:58:36
Speaker
And they're like, yeah, this isn't a problem.
00:58:39
Speaker
Paul's like, yeah, you guys can use it.
00:58:40
Speaker
Just put it in the game.
00:58:42
Speaker
We'll get it worked out.
00:58:44
Speaker
Yeah.
00:58:44
Speaker
Okay.
00:58:46
Speaker
I don't know if it was a three-way call, but certainly Slash called him and took care of it.
00:58:52
Speaker
But still, the point being is Slash wanted stuff in this game.
00:58:56
Speaker
He wanted the Gibson name.
00:58:57
Speaker
He wanted the Fender name.
00:58:58
Speaker
He wanted the Vader for the drumsticks.
00:59:02
Speaker
There were certain licensing things that, from a perspective of, became a lot easier with Slash involved than...
00:59:09
Speaker
And so all this integration, you can tell that someone that wants to be involved with the project and wants to see this as... It went past just making a pinball machine for Slash and Eric and...
00:59:22
Speaker
It went to a full-on passion project.
00:59:25
Speaker
And you could get that.
00:59:27
Speaker
Slash said that.
00:59:28
Speaker
It's like he wanted a game that was his.
00:59:31
Speaker
I mean, he dragged band members into the recording studio to make them record their stuff.
00:59:36
Speaker
And just, it's amazing.
00:59:39
Speaker
It is amazing how much theme integration there is in this game.
00:59:43
Speaker
And that's the thing about Jersey Jacks.
00:59:45
Speaker
The theme integrations are amazing.
00:59:48
Speaker
Like, look at Hobbit.
00:59:49
Speaker
Look at Wizard of Oz.
00:59:51
Speaker
It just is... That is their shtick, right?

Future Market Standards and Expectations

00:59:57
Speaker
And so, I don't know why I was going with this, but seriously, that's my takeaway from all this.
01:00:02
Speaker
The problem is now they've raised the bar pretty high because they've had Slash, who was involved with the whole project, raise the bar.
01:00:11
Speaker
Because he could.
01:00:13
Speaker
And so where does that leave Jersey Jack on the next game?
01:00:16
Speaker
Say they do Toy Story.
01:00:18
Speaker
We saw how Pirates of the Caribbean, yeah, it plays fantastic, but no one ever talks about the theme integration because you don't have scenes from the movies besides the boat floating on the water and stuff like that.
01:00:31
Speaker
You get what I'm saying here?
01:00:34
Speaker
It certainly has an immersive theme integration, and I'm sure that there was some sort of
01:00:42
Speaker
understanding with guns and roses early slash that there's really only so much they could pay for the license.
01:00:50
Speaker
Um, and so that was, uh, I'm sure there was a lot more, more of slash being involved in saying, look, we don't care.
01:01:00
Speaker
Like we don't need the money.
01:01:01
Speaker
Exactly.
01:01:02
Speaker
It wasn't a K it wasn't a money grab for them.
01:01:05
Speaker
It wasn't a pay us money for this.
01:01:07
Speaker
It was, Hey, let's make a really awesome pinball machine.
01:01:12
Speaker
And I'm sure they I'm sure they got some money for it, but they they could have pulled a Star Wars where it was an expensive license.
01:01:20
Speaker
And so obviously the build of materials suffered, but that that didn't seem to be that.
01:01:26
Speaker
Now, that being said, if you want the LE, you're paying $10,000 for it.
01:01:32
Speaker
So there is a lot in there.
01:01:35
Speaker
And so the build of materials does cover that.
01:01:38
Speaker
So this is me projecting.
01:01:39
Speaker
I don't have any inside information.
01:01:42
Speaker
But that's it.
01:01:45
Speaker
I think, yes, it is certainly a complete, well, immersive game.
01:01:49
Speaker
But I would say you would get a similar thing from Iron Maiden.
01:01:54
Speaker
Iron Maiden did this similar type thing where they were easy to work with and they they were fully involved.
01:02:01
Speaker
But you can get that with a band who has the licensing and the artistic assets and everything all together.
01:02:11
Speaker
You can't get that with a movie.
01:02:15
Speaker
You can't get that with a lot of other things just because there are other considerations to be made.
01:02:23
Speaker
And I agree to a point, but I just feel like this is on another level.
01:02:26
Speaker
Okay.
01:02:28
Speaker
Just listening back to some of that stuff, I just feel like, I don't know, just listening to Slash's passion for this, it got me excited for this.
01:02:38
Speaker
And
01:02:39
Speaker
Really, Jersey Jack should use that to their advantage.
01:02:43
Speaker
They really should.
01:02:44
Speaker
I don't know.
01:02:44
Speaker
Did you listen to the Jersey Jack podcast, the one with Slash and Eric?
01:02:50
Speaker
I haven't yet.
01:02:51
Speaker
I've been working the last two weeks, and so I'm a little behind in that.
01:02:56
Speaker
So there's a part where Ken asks Slash.
01:02:59
Speaker
He says, hey, would you ever consider doing another pinball machine?
01:03:02
Speaker
Because you're obviously good at this.
01:03:05
Speaker
And Slash is like, definitely, sign me up.
01:03:09
Speaker
Where can I sign up?
01:03:11
Speaker
And it's like, could you imagine any other theme in Slash just being involved?
01:03:17
Speaker
And I'm not saying he's a fantastic playfield designer, but if you could break down boundaries and licensing that have been put up over the last decade, that could be game changer for the pinball industry.
01:03:28
Speaker
Everyone always rants and raves about Adam's family and all the voice characters and the integration.
01:03:35
Speaker
you know, if we're going to be honest, this is just me projecting, but like Adam's family isn't a fantastic shooting game.
01:03:44
Speaker
In my opinion, like it's a fun game.
01:03:47
Speaker
Don't get me wrong, but it's kind of shoot the scoop, shoot the ramp, shoot the scoop, shoot the ramp.
01:03:53
Speaker
You don't really have to complete the mode.
01:03:55
Speaker
You just kind of do it over and over to complete all the modes and the, you get the wonderful, the amazing start to, you know, tour the mansion and,
01:04:06
Speaker
And the jackpot is just amazing on that.
01:04:09
Speaker
Like there is aspects of that game that just is fantastic.
01:04:12
Speaker
But in my opinion, there are better games nowadays that far trump Adam's family.
01:04:18
Speaker
But the love it gets is because of its theme integration.
01:04:21
Speaker
Well, the love it gets is because it's the first one that really started the mode based games.
01:04:27
Speaker
Yeah, I guess that is true as well.
01:04:30
Speaker
So it was kind of a landmark.
01:04:32
Speaker
And I know my friend Gary, that's his go-to game or his grail game.
01:04:38
Speaker
He sold an Addams Family Gold because he wants a better one.
01:04:42
Speaker
And I keep saying, I think you may just get a different game.
01:04:46
Speaker
It's not that big of a deal.
01:04:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:04:49
Speaker
But if you love Adam's family, awesome.
01:04:52
Speaker
Like that's cool.
01:04:53
Speaker
Like, well, everybody has their, everybody has their, you know, their special purpose, their grail game.
01:04:59
Speaker
Right.
01:05:00
Speaker
And that's why it's, that's why it's fine.
01:05:03
Speaker
So it'll, it'll be interesting to see where this goes in the future.
01:05:06
Speaker
Cause this, this release and this level of involvement by a licensor seems unprecedented in the history of pinball,
01:05:19
Speaker
when it comes to the popularity of the license and, uh, the integration.
01:05:25
Speaker
Uh, is this a one-off?
01:05:27
Speaker
I actually kind of think this is a, this is an anomaly.
01:05:31
Speaker
I don't think it's going to carry over.
01:05:32
Speaker
Um, I I'm kind of there with you.
01:05:35
Speaker
Do you think Jon Bon Jovi is going to be as involved in his pinball machine?
01:05:39
Speaker
I don't think so.
01:05:40
Speaker
No, no.
01:05:41
Speaker
And we could be wrong.
01:05:42
Speaker
I don't know.
01:05:43
Speaker
So, um,
01:05:45
Speaker
The one that made me chuckle is Tim Lee.
01:05:49
Speaker
I don't know if you know Tim.
01:05:50
Speaker
He's a great guy.
01:05:53
Speaker
I love the dude because his profile picture is of our shirt.
01:05:56
Speaker
And I think that's cool that someone actually enjoys us enough that they'd actually rep us on their Facebook page.
01:06:02
Speaker
And so, but he kind of did like a tongue in cheek, like,
01:06:07
Speaker
Avengers or Guns N' Roses kind of question, you know?
01:06:11
Speaker
And he was trying to make the point of why do we need to...
01:06:17
Speaker
like decide either or if you got the money and you love them both why can't you buy them both essentially and i totally agree with him why why do we have that in this community where it's like no you got to buy avengers or no it's guns and roses like no you suck like it's like adam sandler and the little kid and billy madison you remember that where he's like donkey kong sucks no mortal kombat sucks no you suck no you suck you know
01:06:40
Speaker
And I feel like we're kind of that point.
01:06:42
Speaker
And why can't we the little girl from the taco commercial where she's like, why not both?
01:06:46
Speaker
And everyone then cheers.
01:06:47
Speaker
Right.
01:06:48
Speaker
So.
01:06:49
Speaker
Yeah.
01:06:50
Speaker
Well, I understand you're going to have a, well, if you're buying one, which one are you going to buy?
01:06:58
Speaker
Cause I made that decision.
01:07:00
Speaker
Uh, I guns and roses.
01:07:04
Speaker
That was the worst kept secret.
01:07:06
Speaker
Like everybody knew this was coming and even slash that.
01:07:08
Speaker
Yeah, we're making a pinball machine.
01:07:10
Speaker
So, uh, that was the worst kept secret.
01:07:14
Speaker
The, the challenges, which one do you want to buy?
01:07:17
Speaker
And my attitude is if you really want a game and I've said this before, if there's a grail game out there, guess what?
01:07:22
Speaker
You'll probably be able to get it at some point.
01:07:24
Speaker
So don't kill yourself.
01:07:26
Speaker
Pick one, try it out.
01:07:28
Speaker
If it works for you, great, hold on to it.
01:07:29
Speaker
If you don't, then sell it and move on.
01:07:32
Speaker
You can buy both games at some point, but I did prioritize about Avengers and I love it.
01:07:38
Speaker
Well, and like we've always said, if you don't know what to buy, then hold off.
01:07:43
Speaker
These are still going to location and whatnot.
01:07:45
Speaker
Grab your mask, grab your hand sanitizer, and go support your favorite company or your favorite arcade or bar and go out there and play some pinball.
01:07:55
Speaker
These are going to be out there.
01:07:57
Speaker
It's been too much of a hit not to be out there.
01:08:00
Speaker
So go play it and you decide.
01:08:02
Speaker
If you can only buy one, then so be it.
01:08:05
Speaker
So...
01:08:07
Speaker
But I don't know.
01:08:08
Speaker
I have a hard time with guns and roses.
01:08:09
Speaker
We both discussed this because it's not super family friendly.
01:08:12
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:13
Speaker
Okay.
01:08:13
Speaker
Even though there is a family mode and Eric said that obviously there is a family mode and he has kids too.
01:08:19
Speaker
And I, I'm sure they will learn all the swear words out there.
01:08:24
Speaker
And, but I just don't want them to be on the pinball machine.
01:08:28
Speaker
And Eric said, there's a big sheet when you buy the, the game underneath that says,
01:08:34
Speaker
This ship's in family mode.
01:08:35
Speaker
If you want to experience the whole game, then you have to turn on the adult settings.
01:08:41
Speaker
And that's fine.
01:08:42
Speaker
I just don't want someone dropping an F-bomb at me in my house.
01:08:45
Speaker
I agree.
01:08:46
Speaker
And that's, like I said, that's the hard part for me, too, is I can't really bring it into my home.
01:08:51
Speaker
And I'd want to play the full version because I would feel like I'm missing out if I'm not.
01:08:56
Speaker
And then it's just... And I know it's easy to switch back and forth.
01:09:00
Speaker
Like, don't get me wrong.
01:09:01
Speaker
But I just...
01:09:04
Speaker
I don't know.
01:09:05
Speaker
I got young, impressionable minds.
01:09:06
Speaker
I don't, I don't want the sling plastics of the women in their bikinis and stuff.
01:09:11
Speaker
I don't know.
01:09:13
Speaker
Yeah.
01:09:13
Speaker
Yeah.
01:09:13
Speaker
Well, but that's, you know, it's kind of like saying, do you like movies?
01:09:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:09:19
Speaker
But not every movie is going to be, um, appropriate for all audiences.
01:09:25
Speaker
And that's why they have, uh, that's why they have ratings.
01:09:28
Speaker
So,
01:09:29
Speaker
So I guess my point to all this, if you're on the fence of either or go play them both, don't feel obligated to pick a side.
01:09:37
Speaker
I mean, it's pinball.
01:09:39
Speaker
Even Eric Minier said this when he came on our show a year and a half ago.
01:09:42
Speaker
He's like, any pinball is good pinball, right?
01:09:45
Speaker
Well, they all know each other and they're all friends.
01:09:47
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
01:09:49
Speaker
So it's not like it's West Side Story when they run into each other at Burger King.
01:09:53
Speaker
I can see that.
01:09:54
Speaker
I can see when Eric sees Keith, they just start doing a snap dance fight.
01:10:00
Speaker
So, all right.
01:10:02
Speaker
I think we've covered Avengers.
01:10:03
Speaker
I think we've covered Guns N' Roses.
01:10:06
Speaker
There's only a couple more things I wanted to cover.
01:10:08
Speaker
Is there anything else you want to add to this before we move off this topic?
01:10:12
Speaker
No, I think I think they're both hits.
01:10:15
Speaker
Like, I'm really happy for both of them because I think they both made exactly what they wanted to.
01:10:20
Speaker
And I think they will get a big following.
01:10:24
Speaker
Yep.
01:10:25
Speaker
I totally agree.
01:10:26
Speaker
And I guess my last my last thing is, is we need to stop giving companies crap for not doing what other companies are doing.
01:10:33
Speaker
Yeah.
01:10:35
Speaker
So, you know, JJP is doing what they do best and Stern's doing what they do best.
01:10:40
Speaker
American pinball is doing what they do best.
01:10:41
Speaker
I mean, it kind of, it kind of words me out when we're like, well, they're not doing this, but JJP is doing it.
01:10:47
Speaker
There's room at the table.
01:10:48
Speaker
There's room at the table for everyone.
01:10:50
Speaker
Yep.
01:10:51
Speaker
And so they all have their shtick.
01:10:53
Speaker
Let them do it.
01:10:54
Speaker
So cool.
01:10:55
Speaker
Uh, let's talk about, I don't really want to give my personal opinion on this.
01:11:00
Speaker
Okay.
01:11:00
Speaker
But, uh, that's a good way of starting a segment.
01:11:05
Speaker
I don't know how to say it.
01:11:07
Speaker
Okay.

Niche Market Items and Appeal

01:11:08
Speaker
What's your thoughts on the CPR play field kits?
01:11:13
Speaker
I don't know what to call them.
01:11:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:17
Speaker
We've talked about, uh, obviously there's a history of very sexual images in pinball and kind of being dominated by the audience that they were trying to sell to, which was kind of young boys and men.
01:11:34
Speaker
So they pushed that, um, you know, I'm just going to say the stereotypical beer commercial, that image, right.
01:11:45
Speaker
Yep.
01:11:45
Speaker
And so there are, you showed me these, there, there's some conversion kits out there for Harlem Globetrotters and they're kind of in that realm.
01:11:54
Speaker
They're a little bit scantily clad women.
01:11:56
Speaker
And
01:11:57
Speaker
I understand there's an audience for it somewhere because obviously people still buy them and do that.
01:12:05
Speaker
But I it just feels a little dated.
01:12:08
Speaker
It's I fully admit that there's an audience for it.
01:12:12
Speaker
I'm not the audience.
01:12:14
Speaker
And I I'm a little surprised that they're still making those now because it feels a little dated.
01:12:24
Speaker
But that's just my take.
01:12:27
Speaker
The other thought I have too is if you haven't looked at these, do go on CPR play fields or CPR restoration, Google it.
01:12:33
Speaker
I can't remember what exactly what it is.
01:12:34
Speaker
I apologize.
01:12:35
Speaker
CPR.
01:12:36
Speaker
Um, but one it's Holland gold trotters is converted over to inked.
01:12:40
Speaker
It's, it's, uh, a bunch of women tattoos, you know, nothing wrong with tattoos.
01:12:46
Speaker
It looks kind of cool, but it's, it feels like a Maxim magazine though.
01:12:50
Speaker
So it's not, it's not like a playboy, but it's certainly, um,
01:12:56
Speaker
Yeah, it's certainly more on the gentleman's magazine, if you want to put it that way.
01:13:04
Speaker
Yeah, put it that way.
01:13:07
Speaker
But...
01:13:08
Speaker
And then the other one is that I've seen so far is for Playboy, which I mean, if you own a Playboy, you're obviously not against this.
01:13:14
Speaker
But they came out with a Playmate one, which is like, I guess, an updated version of all the the girls in Playboy.
01:13:20
Speaker
I don't know.
01:13:21
Speaker
But what confuses me is I don't know.
01:13:23
Speaker
There are people out there.
01:13:24
Speaker
I don't think I'd want a hot pink pinball machine in my collection.
01:13:28
Speaker
I mean, that's like hot pink if you look at it.
01:13:30
Speaker
Yeah, I think it's it's fine.
01:13:35
Speaker
And it's nothing against the color pink and there's no commentary on gender association with the color.
01:13:40
Speaker
It's just, I don't like pink.
01:13:42
Speaker
I'm sorry.
01:13:42
Speaker
It's just, it's, yeah.
01:13:44
Speaker
So anywho, but I don't play boy actually retails for a decent price.
01:13:49
Speaker
And so does Harlem glow trotters.
01:13:52
Speaker
would you drop $3,000 on one of these kits to spend how many hours?
01:13:57
Speaker
Cause it's cabinet decals.
01:13:59
Speaker
It's, it's plastics.
01:14:00
Speaker
It's a whole new play field.
01:14:02
Speaker
It's a translate.
01:14:03
Speaker
I mean, it's a full kit.
01:14:05
Speaker
You're converting your pinball machine over to this.
01:14:10
Speaker
I don't know.
01:14:11
Speaker
I mean, it's just me, but I look at a lot of resale value.
01:14:14
Speaker
You know what I'm saying?
01:14:14
Speaker
Like I just have a hard time spending 3000 on something that I don't know if I'll get the money ever out of it again.
01:14:21
Speaker
Yeah, I can see if someone gets a roached one where they're interested in having this polarizing theme conversion, I can see them wanting to do something like that.
01:14:36
Speaker
But it's kind of like having a car that you hot rod out.
01:14:42
Speaker
as it really has to be to your tastes like that's, that's for you.
01:14:48
Speaker
That's not really for anyone else.
01:14:49
Speaker
And you're probably not going to get much out of it when you sell it.
01:14:55
Speaker
So it's, I would just say this is a very limited targeted audience.
01:15:01
Speaker
Well, and I do want to know, I mean, if you guys, if anyone out there is buying one, we won't shame you or anything.
01:15:06
Speaker
I do really want to know if you guys are buying this because it seems like Scott said, it's very targeted audience.
01:15:12
Speaker
It's, um, I just don't see inked as a theme that, that, I don't know, that grabs people.
01:15:21
Speaker
I could be wrong.
01:15:22
Speaker
Don't know.
01:15:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:25
Speaker
So, but cool.

Giveaways and Community Support

01:15:27
Speaker
So, all right, last but not least, let's talk about our giveaway.
01:15:30
Speaker
It's been since August.
01:15:32
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:32
Speaker
Sorry, guys.
01:15:33
Speaker
We we've been a little behind on this.
01:15:35
Speaker
And so we are going to announce the winner of the first giveaway.
01:15:40
Speaker
And then we are going to be shamelessly asking for shares and reviews.
01:15:46
Speaker
And we will do the same thing again.
01:15:48
Speaker
So go ahead.
01:15:49
Speaker
Take it away, Josh.
01:15:51
Speaker
So we did the drawing a couple weeks ago.
01:15:53
Speaker
We pulled the name.
01:15:54
Speaker
Usually we do the spinning of the wheel and whatnot.
01:15:56
Speaker
We're not doing that today.
01:15:58
Speaker
We pulled out a name.
01:15:59
Speaker
So if you don't remember, the contest was go to your favorite pinball place, arcade, barcade, even if it's at home.
01:16:08
Speaker
We wanted to support the local arcades.
01:16:11
Speaker
They're starting to fail.
01:16:13
Speaker
There's a lot of people closing doors.
01:16:14
Speaker
And so...
01:16:15
Speaker
you know, I guess it was to help incentivize people to get out the door and to go support those.
01:16:21
Speaker
They're having a really rough time right now.
01:16:23
Speaker
Um, and we also said, if you didn't feel comfortable doing that, you could do it from your home, whatever it may be.
01:16:27
Speaker
We got a surprising amount of submissions.
01:16:30
Speaker
It was pretty awesome.
01:16:31
Speaker
A lot of people showing a lot of love for the arcades.
01:16:34
Speaker
Uh, the one that we drew out was Glenn Watcher, I think is his name.
01:16:41
Speaker
I, uh,
01:16:44
Speaker
w-a-e-c-h-t-e-r watcher
01:16:48
Speaker
That's what I'm going with.
01:16:49
Speaker
It's Glenn Watcher.
01:16:51
Speaker
I want to share a story really quick.
01:16:52
Speaker
He went to no quarter in Nashville, Tennessee.
01:16:55
Speaker
He said this is one of his favorite places.
01:16:57
Speaker
Well, kind of.
01:16:59
Speaker
They're trying to keep location pinball alive in the middle of Tennessee.
01:17:02
Speaker
Just before the pandemic, though, the tornado hit and took out half their building.
01:17:07
Speaker
They're only open temporarily right now, three days a week with social distancing requirements.
01:17:11
Speaker
The new building will be done in about six months.
01:17:14
Speaker
but he wanted to give a shout out to no quarter in Tennessee.
01:17:17
Speaker
That is awesome.
01:17:18
Speaker
That is so cool that you're supporting them.
01:17:20
Speaker
And it sounds like they've had quite the trauma between a tornado and the pandemic.
01:17:24
Speaker
So Glenn watcher, we will be reaching out to you on Facebook if you don't reach out to us first.

Podcast Success and Listener Engagement

01:17:30
Speaker
Um, but we'll reach out to you and get your swag back and get your information.
01:17:34
Speaker
So.
01:17:35
Speaker
And really quickly, thank you, thank you, thank you.
01:17:40
Speaker
People have been reviewing us.
01:17:41
Speaker
We really appreciate it.
01:17:43
Speaker
We went from like 15 reviews on the Pinball Database to 34, I think is what we're at right now.
01:17:49
Speaker
I mean, holy crap, more than doubled.
01:17:51
Speaker
And...
01:17:53
Speaker
we're number one on pinball database right now.
01:17:55
Speaker
And so it is so cool that we're at the number one pinball promoter database there on twip.
01:18:01
Speaker
Uh, we, we thank you for leaving us five star reviews.
01:18:05
Speaker
Uh, we appreciate the kind words.
01:18:08
Speaker
Um, I don't know what else to put to that.
01:18:11
Speaker
What do you want to say, Scott?
01:18:12
Speaker
Okay.
01:18:13
Speaker
We do this for fun.
01:18:14
Speaker
I really, that's the whole point of this.
01:18:16
Speaker
And
01:18:17
Speaker
It means a lot to me and I know it means a lot to Josh that we have been able to mean something to someone else.
01:18:24
Speaker
And even if it's that giving you an hour, a little over an hour every two weeks, just to think about something other than all the stress that we've been dealing with in life this year, we feel very flattered and humbled that people are able to
01:18:44
Speaker
spend their time with us together.
01:18:47
Speaker
And so just from the bottom of my heart, I would like to say thanks to people.
01:18:51
Speaker
And we would like to continue that.
01:18:55
Speaker
Obviously, having reviews helps us spread our our our tribe across for people who are willing to just have a low drama pinball.
01:19:07
Speaker
And so we would like to continue that with more people.
01:19:13
Speaker
And so
01:19:14
Speaker
If you want to do a review on iTunes, just snap a picture of your review or just send us an email that, hey, didn't did a review for you.

Merchandise Plans and Community Ideas

01:19:27
Speaker
We'll give you if you do three reviews, like one on iTunes, one on this week at pinball.
01:19:35
Speaker
And where else where else are we getting reviewed?
01:19:39
Speaker
I guess, Josh.
01:19:41
Speaker
Android or apple.
01:19:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:19:42
Speaker
Did you say those two?
01:19:43
Speaker
I said, I said apple.
01:19:44
Speaker
Yeah.
01:19:44
Speaker
Android or sorry.
01:19:45
Speaker
So yeah.
01:19:48
Speaker
Um, and, and this week in pinball and then, um, okay.
01:19:53
Speaker
And on Facebook, if you want to share a, share a message, that's fine.
01:19:57
Speaker
Uh, we'll give people up to three, uh, entries and I got a swag bag.
01:20:02
Speaker
I've actually been buying a whole bunch of, uh, stickers and, uh, and key chains.
01:20:08
Speaker
and uh and and uh mrs pin actually uh took uh some of my placard things and made earrings out of them and so if you wear earrings these could be for you too so uh we're looking for a few uh where we don't know i'll have to gather all my swag bags together and we'll be able to send them out but uh make some uh make some reviews out there and hopefully we can reach more people and just
01:20:32
Speaker
give a break in their life.
01:20:34
Speaker
And that's pretty much it.
01:20:35
Speaker
We're happy with everybody who's listening and we just want to keep doing it.
01:20:40
Speaker
Yep.
01:20:41
Speaker
And we do ask that you leave a five-star review.
01:20:43
Speaker
We put a lot of time and effort into this to bring you guys free content, enjoyable content.
01:20:48
Speaker
I think we're the only podcast or one of the only podcasts that doesn't do a Patreon.
01:20:53
Speaker
We just, we're doing it for fun because we want, we want you guys, our audience to feel like you are sitting next to us.
01:21:01
Speaker
And it's just a discussion about pinball and having fun.
01:21:05
Speaker
That is no jab at any other podcast.
01:21:08
Speaker
I think everyone does great at what they are doing.
01:21:12
Speaker
And really, everybody has to find ways of paying the bills.
01:21:14
Speaker
There are ways that you're doing it.
01:21:16
Speaker
I feel very lucky that Josh and I have been able to self-fund.
01:21:19
Speaker
And so if people find different ways of making it work, then great.
01:21:24
Speaker
I'm happy for them.
01:21:25
Speaker
We just do this because we like spending time and we like meeting people.
01:21:28
Speaker
Yep.
01:21:30
Speaker
Even our friends at the podcast, they don't pay us anything.
01:21:32
Speaker
We just, we enjoy their product and we feel like they're people that are cool with us.
01:21:38
Speaker
And so we want to support them as well.
01:21:39
Speaker
Yeah, we want to promote them.
01:21:41
Speaker
So, uh, really honestly, like Scott said, we, between hats, Hey, by the way, we got more hats in hats, shirts and other stuff.
01:21:49
Speaker
So if you're interested in one of those, please reach out.
01:21:52
Speaker
And we're looking into face masks.
01:21:54
Speaker
Um,
01:21:55
Speaker
I know the problem was, is I know Jeff Teols told us we got to do face masks.
01:21:59
Speaker
When did we have us on pinball profile?
01:22:02
Speaker
That was like... Oh, yeah, that was a while ago.
01:22:03
Speaker
It was a while ago.
01:22:04
Speaker
I think we've just been kind of overwhelmed.
01:22:06
Speaker
So just like everybody has been, so...
01:22:09
Speaker
Well, and I think the other thing, too, is like, is like, I think none of us knew how this was going to shake out in March, right?
01:22:15
Speaker
When this all went down.
01:22:16
Speaker
Yeah.
01:22:16
Speaker
And so we're like, how is this all going to work?
01:22:18
Speaker
Now that we know that masks are going to be here for quite some time, I think it's time.
01:22:22
Speaker
So we're looking into it.
01:22:24
Speaker
So if you want to lose your kid mask, well, hopefully we'll get some.
01:22:30
Speaker
We're working on it.
01:22:30
Speaker
So.
01:22:32
Speaker
Ta-da.
01:22:32
Speaker
Ta-da.
01:22:36
Speaker
Oh, anyway.
01:22:39
Speaker
So, all right.
01:22:40
Speaker
Uh, Josh, uh, where can they reach us if they have any questions?
01:22:46
Speaker

01:22:50

Speaker
We love chit chatting with you.
01:23:08
Speaker
Uh, if you want, I don't know.
01:23:10
Speaker
I haven't talked to Scott about this.
01:23:12
Speaker
I've been half tempted to do a discord.
01:23:14
Speaker
Have you ever done discord Scott?
01:23:16
Speaker
I, uh, I'm, I have such limited time, so no, but if you're interested, go ahead.
01:23:22
Speaker
We might.
01:23:23
Speaker
I don't know.
01:23:24
Speaker
It's been cool.
01:23:24
Speaker
I just joined this flipping podcast discord.
01:23:28
Speaker
If you haven't joined that, check that one out.
01:23:30
Speaker
It's been pretty fun.
01:23:31
Speaker
It's fun to get some people in the industry or not necessarily.
01:23:35
Speaker
Sorry.
01:23:35
Speaker
In the community, just chit chat and pinball with each other.
01:23:38
Speaker
It's kind of real time chat.
01:23:40
Speaker
So I don't know.
01:23:41
Speaker
I'm kind of lazy, though.
01:23:42
Speaker
I don't know if I really want to do a discord.
01:23:46
Speaker
It's the upkeep.
01:23:48
Speaker
Well, okay.
01:23:49
Speaker
This is, this is you.
01:23:51
Speaker
So you need to make, you need to make the decision.
01:23:53
Speaker
I'm pretty tapped out time-wise.
01:23:56
Speaker
I know.
01:23:56
Speaker
I know.
01:23:56
Speaker
It's seriously just setting it up.
01:23:58
Speaker
It's not that big of a deal, but it's, I don't know.
01:24:00
Speaker
Sure.
01:24:01
Speaker
We'll figure it out.
01:24:02
Speaker
Okay.
01:24:02
Speaker
All right.
01:24:04
Speaker
So other than that, I think that's it.
01:24:08
Speaker
Okay.
01:24:08
Speaker
All right.
01:24:10
Speaker
Well, thanks for tuning in and I'll see you in a couple of weeks.
01:24:12
Speaker
All right.
01:24:12
Speaker
See you in a couple of weeks.
