It's hard to believe the first season is already ending! To celebrate this milestone, hosts Andrew (Caliri Creations) and Kelly (Cocky Crocheter) show how much the podcast has "matured" with a steamy discussion about slutty makes. They bare (almost) all as they wrestle with the pros and cons of crafting revealing pieces that can leave you both empowered and vulnerable.   Music Credit: Break by Moavii | https://www.youtube.com/@MoaviiMusicFree To Use | https://freetouse.com/music Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com

Speaker: Hey

Speaker: yeah everyone, welcome into a very extra special episode of Two CCs of Fiber Arts. This is our grand season finale, so we wanted to make it good for you guys. today today we're talking all about Rated R makes. As you can see, we're both wearing some very um skimpy, scandalous clothes that we made. and so we want to talk all about that, making like sexy, um you know, revealing outfits with crochet or knit. And I am really excited to talk to Kelly today because i know like when Kelly and I first started talking, he was mentioning about how he wants to make clothes for men, especially gay men. But, you know, like there's you don't want to fall into the trap of making like sexy clothes and sexy patterns. But that has seemed to change for you. ah and so i wanted to talk to you about that because you're wearing a piece that you designed right now. So and maybe you could tell us, like i how did you come to be this kind of a designer or making these kinds of things?

Speaker: Oh my gosh. OK, so I love that question um because it really does unpack a lot about like, In general, when we say anything like, oh I'll never do this, I'll never do that. And then 10 minutes, 10 years later, you're like, okay, I'm totally doing this. yeah It's kind of hard to admit because it makes me feel like, oh, wow, am I going back on something I said I wouldn't do? And then feeling like, am I a liar? Am I wishy-washy or things like that? um But no, I think really what it is,

Speaker: is when I was saying I don't necessarily want to fall into that trap of making the really like naughty stuff that I was seeing really starting to pop up, especially among like gay makers, part of it was more like,

Speaker: I was not sure I could. i wasn't sure I could design something like that because I didn't have the confidence or the knowledge of it because I didn't make that stuff for myself. I didn't make it for anybody else, but I was making things like sweaters for myself and hats for people. And, you know like those were things that I was familiar with and comfortable with, and they appealed to a really broad audience. And I think that that was the thing is that I had a pretty...

Speaker: mixed clientele. Like, yes, definitely gay men were following me, but I also had a lot of like, you know, straight women and like conservative people even were like following my stuff. And I was trying to really make sure I was appealing to a lot of as many people as I possibly could. Sweaters were neutral. um Yeah. Okay. But, but something kind of clicked where after a while I was like, I'm not really getting the traction on this and I'm getting a lot of gay men basically making it obvious what they are wanting. and in my mind, I was like, screw it. Let's, let's try something. Let's just try something that, you know, is a smaller project because the sweaters were like, I've got plenty of sweaters. I was like, I need smaller projects now.

Speaker: I needed them for my own self. Like I was like, I'm spending too much time making one pattern. I need to be making more patterns than this. So it was like a smaller project is going to help. And then also I was like, I can make something for myself that I would enjoy because I was also going through, there's, sorry, there's a lot to unpack there. I don't want to like ramble on that. Don't keep going.

Speaker: In either case, like one of the things was also I was simultaneously going through like my fitness journey where actually like you and I were like kind of you were helping me through a lot of that. And I was very proud of my accomplishments with like, you know, getting healthier, getting fitter and wanting to show off my body in a way that I've.

Speaker: not really been comfortable doing. And I was like, what better way than through my art, through my crochet. yeah So I decided to design a mesh tank top as my first real foray into what I would say slutty wear.

Speaker: And it was great. Yes, slut wear, yes. um And then it was especially great because you saw me designing it and were like, I want to test that. And I was like, okay. And then I got a lot of people wanting to test it. I was like, okay, this is a great move. So I had to just like take my glass. I was like, this was an amazing move. Take it all off.

Speaker: Take it all off. Yes. Yes. And now I've designed three mesh tanks at this point. And yeah, like, and then plus like the harness and the jock strap that I've made. And the shorts, the mesh shorts.

Speaker: I forgot about them as shorts. I'm so sorry. How could I forget? I'm literally even in the middle of testing one. It's like almost done. So yeah by the time this episode airs, I think they're actually going to be out. So yeah, anyway, she was that is my long answer to that is why i transitioned from concentrating only on like those types of things to embracing this type of design.

Speaker: Yes, thank you for telling us all about your transition. um ah Thank you. I think it's great though, because yeah, you have discovered a new market. I mean, I haven't even told you this yet, but literally today on the day of filming this, someone messaged me on Instagram and they were like,

Speaker: ah Do you know of any, like, they literally said, I'm really wanting to design, like, ah a lace tank top with cotton yarn. Like, do you have any ideas? ah Like, do you have any patterns in mind? And so I sent him, like, all three of your tank tops. And literally within half an hour, he sent me a picture of him working on the Dreamweaver.

Speaker: And i was like, oh my god, you already started it? No way! Yeah. And, um... and oh Like I just sent him your Instagram posts that had like the models showing the stuff. And then he just got the Dreamweaver pattern and was like working on it So.

Speaker: oh Oh, my goodness. Well, first of all, thank you so much for that. for going but great you're You're a great wingman. Thank you. you Hey, you you've promoted my hats and stuff, too. So like I can't I got to return the favor.

Speaker: You know what? That's fair. i got to reciprocate. Yes. Yes. But I mean, but that's the thing is that like you people look for that type of stuff. Like my thing was I was like, yeah I know that people were saying they could not find good crocheted men's sweater designs. So I was like, OK, well, I'm going to fill that niche. I feel like I filled that niche, at least with the things I do have. And I'm not done designing sweaters. I do still have some sweaters that are in design, but they're just like, they take me a while.

Speaker: and I pretty much have decided I'm going to try to do like one sweater a year, just so that way I'm still putting out sweaters because i still love making them. um But in the meantime, the rest of the year, I'm concentrating on much more of those smaller projects for people like that, because that's what they're also saying they want. They're like, I want,

Speaker: a nice lace tank top made of cotton. Have any recommendations? Girl, I've got three and you send all three. And, and now he gets to make it like he immediately got to make it. Like he yeah didn't have to wait. It's already there. So yeah, that's great.

Speaker: And he was like, he was like, this is saving me. Cause like I'm on a long bus ride right now. So now he has like his whole bus ride to focus on making this tank top. And he's using like a white cotton yarn. So I think it's going to look really good.

Speaker: I hope so. Yeah, there you go. Yeah. apparently There's like a huge market for the stuff you're making now. Well, yeah. And I think like that was one of the things I noted was I was seeing a lot of people making mesh tank tops, lace tank tops, you know, things like that. And I was just like,

Speaker: okay if i can just understand how to make a tank top like just the basic structure you can use any stitch design in it so i was like okay let's do it um and i it was a lot of work to figure out that first one but once i did i was like the other two came a little bit more easily there were definitely some challenges because of the different stitch pattern like the wave strider one especially i was like with how the waves end and stuff like that like All the sizes ended at different points. So trying to write these instructions for those. Oh my God, it was a lot. But yeah, I've seen a lot of good response. Like that is the most popular of those three that I've designed yeah as the wave strider tank top. Like definitely for sure.

Speaker: Yeah, i I do think that all three of your designs offer for something different. Like the Dreamweaver one is like the most basic one, which is great because if you just want like an easy to follow one, it's there. i think the Wavestrider one is like the most complex, but it's also kind of the most visually striking. And it's like very like, there's not anything else like that on the market.

Speaker: Whereas like the Dreamweaver one is probably more like comparable to like, other lace ones that are out there and then the cloud leaper one is like probably the sluttiest one you have because it's basically just like fully exposed oh my god yeah you're like you're really offering like a wide selection of things for people who want to get into making slutware Yeah, very wide. Yeah. And I think that like, so question. Yeah. ah Like you some of them, they're a little tighter and some of them are a little looser. We always have to go back to that. Yes. It's definitely like the cloud leaper is the really big open one. Like you just slide anything around it. The gaping one. Yes.

Speaker: Yeah. Yes. Okay. So then I have a question for you. Okay. So Why do you think, I mean, either like from your own personal experience, like why you do it versus like why you know other people who do it. Why do you think that slutty crochet and knit is seeing this spotlight right now?

Speaker: um Well, I mean, i think for me, like I made this harness because it was about to be pride a couple years ago. And I was like, I want to make something to wear to pride. I don't want to just wear some basic ass shit. Like I want to wear something unique.

Speaker: And I want to like show off not just what I made, but also my body. You know, part of Pride is like showing off your body. if you want to, it's not the whole thing, but like, you know, there's tons of naked people at Pride. so or like almost naked people.

Speaker: as it's true. I had gone to like so many Prides back, you know, in my life. I've been to so many pride parades and everything and never really felt the confidence to be like shirtless or like show off anything. And so when I finally did feel that, i was like, yeah, I want to show off my body. Like I want to be one of those people at Pride.

Speaker: So I was like, let me just make something like really slutty to wear and it's not going to take long because it's like hardly any fabric. So... but I just free handed this harness, which I just got these rings from Home Depot and I just crocheted onto them and just it was basically just like a try it as you go kind of thing. And I would like try it on and see if the strap was long enough.

Speaker: And I just did a waistcoat stitch, which is like a really tight crochet stitch. Doesn't have very much like give because I didn't want it to be like loose or like falling off my body.

Speaker: um So anyway, that's that's why I decided to make this. um I also made like a speedo to go with it, which is not my best work because it is like It was also freehand and I didn't really know what I was doing. It did cover me for the most part, but it was like impossible to get on and off.

Speaker: So, um, yeah, that that's my reasoning. Okay. So then, well, okay. So I think that you've kind of hit on a couple of points as to maybe why other people really enjoy it, because I was kind of, I was very much the same way. The reason I even designed the harness and the jockstrap that goes with it was because I knew pride was coming up.

Speaker: So one, yeah I wanted an outfit for myself. Two, I also wanted to be one of those gays that showed off their full body at pride because I've never done that before. And then three, um it was going to take me very little time But like, I knew I could get that pattern out fast enough that other people could make it if they wanted to for their pride celebrations. So I was I was thinking market. I was thinking timing. I was thinking my own personal desires, like things like that. And it worked like it worked really, really well. And yeah,

Speaker: um it was also like fast, like the actual making of the harness itself. Like it took very little time because you're right It's very little fabric by design. So, you know, it's a quick project and you get to feel confident in it. Like, and you get to make it to your measure. Like you trial and error to make it yeah make it fit to you. So for me, I'm like, I made sure that this harness looked good on my body. So, and yeah same thing with anybody else. I was like, it's,

Speaker: You want it to look good on your body and buying generic ones you could do but or you can make it and it fits perfectly. And then you feel extra confident and you get to have pride in your work as well. yeah Well, and I mean, let's be honest, wearing something slutty to pride is very eye catching, you know, like anytime I'm at pride and I see a lot of skin, i definitely am like,

Speaker: what's over there? My eye wanders and I look because I'm just like, well, if you were here, or you want to show it off. Like I'm going to look, yeah that's that's part of it.

Speaker: um That also extends to social media, you know, like all the stuff that I do that's shirtless always gets way more traction than like, if I post a picture of a plant, like no one cares. Yeah. So it's like you have to understand not just like what people want to make, but also what people want to see on social media.

Speaker: So I think, OK, you know, transitioning your market away from sweaters, which kind of like hide everything, not that they're bad. It's just like they might not perform as well as like a slutty piece that is going to catch people's eye. And they're going to be like oh, my God, a half naked person like share, you know, let me check out this pattern. and You know, I'm sure you must have seen some, some spike in either sales or traffic or something.

Speaker: Yes. To all of that. Like I definitely saw a spike. Like, I mean, I didn't go viral or anything by any means, but it definitely was like, those are the better performing ones. I like, right people are always admiring my sweaters. They always think they look so beautiful, but you're right. That's not the necessarily eye catching thing. What's catching their eye is my half naked model with the great body.

Speaker: that's like posing in a very suggestive like way that's not like, you know, overtly sexual. But the point of it is to make you think sex. So then it makes them think, okay, well, I'm going like this.

Speaker: Yeah, exactly. And then I'm like, and guess what? You can look and feel this way too. So yeah, get the pattern. Yeah. yeah Another thing I will say also is that I think that it is very important. Like, cause one of the things that I did with testing was I wanted to get a variety of people to do it, which was kind of like a catch 22 because to have the confidence that to want to wear something like this. Cause you, you're very exposed. Like that is kind of one those things where like, you have to be very comfortable with your body and I'm not always comfortable with it. Like I still feel very self-conscious, even though I feel like I look great compared to where I was. I feel confident. It's just, yeah, it's everyone has to get over that hurdle. I feel.

Speaker: Yeah, trying to find people with that confidence, but then also wanting to try to find people with a variety of different body types, body shapes, um things like that. Like, no, no, I want to showcase this. Like, all of you will look great in this harness. Like, you are all going look great in this tank top. It does not matter your shape, your size, your build, your gender, anything like that. The reason I want to show this is because I'm trying to show that everybody can make this pattern. It's not just for the sexy gaze. Like that is not the only person who gets to wear slut wear are the people who are like jacked in the gym with like the perfect six pack abs. I'm like, look, I do not have...

Speaker: A six pack like that is not me. Yeah. So I'm like, and yet, and look here, look, I'm confidently showing off my harness to me. Like, yeah, that's right. This is my body and it's worth celebrating. So, you know, yeah I think that was another important message that I wanted to make sure i yeah, thank you. I'm glad that you love that. And I want other people to feel that way so that they also feel like, you know, they can make this pattern and show it off as much as possible. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: No, I think that's great. I mean, i always feel like if you've got it flaunted and even if you don't got it in the sense of like, yeah, like six pack abs or like super fit or anything like if you feel confident, then you do whatever you want. Like, who cares? It's your page, it's your craft time. It's your yarn, your your end product. So if you see something that you like and you think it's going to look good on you and you want to make it, then yeah, make it. And that's another thing like with your patterns, I don't think go up to like five X each.

Speaker: So like you really are inclusive. Yeah. I try to be yes, because like what my standard is, I'm like, why not make it for all nine sizes that are like out there? So yeah, it's like the math it takes to make,

Speaker: me grade up to a 1x is the same as it's going to take me to grade up to a 5x. Okay, so you know, you were talking all about how you've gotten into this new style of design. And you've like, I mean, in the past year, you've pumped out like so many slut wear pieces. So I guess like what's next for you and the cocky crocheter brand? Are you going to keep going down this journey? Or do you have other ideas in mind for slut wear you're going to make?

Speaker: tell us so yeah yes um i didn't mean for this episode to turn into a let's promote cocky crochet or things but i mean also i'm not not going to um okay so what's next is that i've really enjoyed the like the harness stuff the jock strap it was fine like i enjoyed making it i liked the concept but there's definitely some things that i want to improve on it so there's going to be some like more designs of that coming out as I kind of tinker with it. But right now, the easiest things are going to be the harnesses. And I do have a couple of ideas for ones as far as like the actual structure of them that I'm wanting to explore. um

Speaker: There's also like I know I made the mesh tank tops. I still need to make the mesh shorts. So like I've got the one in current and I've made a prototype of the other pair. So like I'm trying to make a pair to go with every tank top that I had designed. So that way it's a nice little outfit that you can make. So that's kind of like the next thing. And then after that, I'm not sure. Like, it's still up in the air. And I don't want to box myself in with anything in particular. But there's also other, like, non-slutty things that I'm still wanting to design that I have on the books. But um I'm kind of thinking of things that are, like, there's an element of sluttiness to them. So, like...

Speaker: they are still covering more than you normally cover, but they're doing like the shaping and certain things are like to, to draw your eye to certain parts. So then that way you still feel confident and sexy. So then that way i can maybe like offer slutty wear for the more modest gay. So and they don't maybe don't necessarily want to expose their nipples and everything. so maybe they don't want to wear mesh, but they're willing to show off a little bit more skin. So like, you know, something like that, that's kind of like another thing you want to explore.

Speaker: Okay, nice. Actually, that brings up like a really good point of slut wear doesn't just have to be like fully exposed like we are. um like For instance, I saw this thing where somebody made a granny square cardigan, but it was like only two of the squares had flowers on them. like the The square itself was like a flower with like, you know, ah how a flower has like a circle in the middle and petals on the outside? Well, they put them on the chest right here.

Speaker: And so actually when the cardigan is closed, it looks like her tits. And she even like on her post, she was like, I did not realize that the cardigan was going to lay like this. Well, too late now. Oh my God. That's brilliant. But I think that what you hit on right there is that it's like,

Speaker: Slut wear doesn't necessarily, you're right, have to be harnesses and jock straps and showing off everything. It really can be something like wearing suggestive clothing. Yeah. Like I'm going to place the flower petals right here and be like, yeah it's just a cardigan. I'm covering everything I need to. I'm not like, you know, breaking any laws or anything like that. Yeah. But it's definitely showing off like what you've got. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: Yes. Oh man, that actually just reminded me of this other creator that I saw. She makes bikini tops that look like boobs.

Speaker: Like it's literally just like her boobs but in crochet so it has like nipples and like it's like her skin tone and everything and like there was one post that she made that was i know that i'm clothed but i feel really weird like sitting on my porch wearing this a bikini top because like my neighbors might think i'm actually shirtless on my porch I love that she's saying of that, but then she's like still doing it. It's like, you know what you're doing, but yeah but I get it. Yes. That's so hilarious. But like, but you're right, like there are people who do things like that and it's like, you're right. Like they're covered, but they're not covered. It's like, ooh, they're using the imagination to kind of get that going. oh my gosh. So I kind of liked it. Like slutty wear has a kind of more broad open definition than just what we're even wearing.

Speaker: very Very, very open. Like a marriage. Yes. Yeah. ah Or a relationship or a poly thing, whatever. It's like, yes. Well, I mean, some of us wouldn't call it that, but you know, I'm not going to say any names, but it's one of us. No, of course not. No, no.

Speaker: Oh my God. oh Well, I mean, wear is also great for that. yeah It's true. This piece is not just, um, uh a looks piece it's uh also functional so you know let's just say that ah it's very sturdy and durable yeah it's like especially you use like cotton fibers like it can yeah it can it doesn't stretch that much yeah no but it stretches just the right amount yeah yeah i mean this is all just hypothetical obviously

Speaker: Very hypothetical. Yeah. like None of this is suggestive of anything specific. No, definitely not. So. No, no. Yeah, no, no. Oh my goodness. I mean, that's good because like it's, it opens up new possibilities for what you can do with your crochet.

Speaker: can only my face. So I'm not even hiding it. I'm not hiding my face. Like that just is what it is. Like this, this whole conversation but We knew where this was gonna go. Like we knew. So we're not even fighting it. Like, yeah. like We're basically saying you can use these pieces when you actually want to have sex with somebody. Like these are great. Wow. ah Yeah. In case if you haven't picked up on it.

Speaker: Yes. But I just want to make it obvious for those of us who maybe are like, what are they really talking about? Is that really what they're saying? Yes. That is exactly what we are saying. Use these when you want some sexy fun time. my God. Is this episode going to get flagged on YouTube? Oh my God. um It is definitely going to be marked as not for kids, not to bring the kids up again, yeah but it's going to be not for kids. And it's going to be, you must prove that you're 18 or over. So it is going to be marked there. So you have to be logged in and verify your age and everything like that to be able to listen to this episode. So keep that in mind. If you want to catch this episode,

Speaker: You have to be an adult, okay? Well, I mean, yeah. Yes, i completely agree. Oh, yes. Oh, my goodness. ah Well, the other thing I kind of wanted to bring up, I don't, i just like, you know, in the last bit of time that we do have is um whether or not you feel like slut wear like this.

Speaker: is encouraging body positivity or is lending more towards like body dysmorphia issues for people? Because but I'm wondering if like you see everybody wearing their slut wear, does that encourage you to be like, oh, I have permission to wear mine when I see a bunch of people or I'm seeing all these confident people and I don't feel that way.

Speaker: So I don't deserve to wear this. Like, oh wow which one do you think is like kind of like where that leads? Ooh. That's a that's a tough question, but I do think it has two answers like it. I really feel like it depends on your perception and where your own headspace is at.

Speaker: Like I sometimes I'm scrolling through things and I see people wearing like amazing slutty makes and I'm like, oh, my God, this person looks amazing.

Speaker: And then, you know, I have that doubt of like, I don't think I could pull that off or, you know, like I would I look the same in that or, you know, like they look so much better than me. And, you know, you have those thoughts, but then it's also just about telling yourself that.

Speaker: you can pull it off. Like it's about believing in the fact that you can pull it off and that you know if other people are posting their stuff, who says you can't post your stuff too? I mean, it's your page. That's what I always say is like, it's your page. So you can post literally whatever you want.

Speaker: Now, that doesn't mean that people aren't going to come to your comment section and be rude and nasty. That is always a possibility. Yes. are speaking from personal experience, it sounds like. Is that true? I am. I have had several nasty people in my comments who tell me that I'm like obese and disgusting and should lose weight and all of this stuff. And that stuff like can really affect you.

Speaker: But... It's and it's really hard to tune those things out. It really is. But seeing on the flip side, so many other people saying nice things like I love the way this fits or you look so good in this. Like it's a balance, I think. And i think it like I said, it depends on your own perception. Like you might not have the best view of your body, but if you post something and people do like it, you know, then like it's And the thing is, with slutty makes, people will like your stuff. I'm telling you, people will like it. No matter what your body looks like, there is someone out there that will like it if it's slutty. Like, that's just the way social media works.

Speaker: So I mean, you're not wrong. Like, yeah, right. And well, and that's why I'm like, if you like it and you made it and you want to post it and build confidence, like whatever you look like, there's a market for you on social media. You can find your people.

Speaker: You're going to find people on the other end that are rude and nasty, but you just have to focus on the people that have your back and like your stuff. And that's how you can like build up confidence and, you know, just focus on that stuff.

Speaker: Harder said than done. i I completely agree because I feel that same way. Easier said than done. Easier said than done. It's just because you wanted to say harder. Like that was all you wanted to It was just all on your brain. This episode has really gotten me. I gotta bring up hard, you know. a slutty episode, so hard, hard, hard, you know.

Speaker: oh my God, yes. Well, we know our clientele. We know what they want. And all we're doing is just giving it to them. So yeah, that as much as they want. Yes. yeah Well, and that's my point of, you know, like find your market.

Speaker: There will be people that will like your stuff. There are so many avenues of the internet. I promise you there will be people that like whatever shape you're in.

Speaker: no matter what, you know, that there will be, you just have to put yourself out there. And that's really the scariest part. And I think for me, it's not necessarily even that there are people out there. I think it's almost like the comparison problem where you're like, okay, yes, but I'm getting 50 likes on something. Whereas this really hot guy is getting a thousand likes on something. Yeah. I mean, yeah. And it's like, and the 50 likes I earned took me two hours and they got a thousand in their first 15 minutes. You know, I think that might also be something that like really messes with some people's head and doesn't help with their own negative self-perception.

Speaker: But I know that for me, I've had to really battle that. And you've been very encouraging about being like, girl, no, like you, you are like don't do that. Like, that's not okay.

Speaker: I, everybody is going to have somebody who's hotter than them. Like everyone's going have somebody who is, you know, like in better shape and have more likes and things like that. It's like, that's just the nature of social media. It's like yeah Mariah Carey is always going to get more likes than, you know, Joe Blow singer who has like 50,000 views. She's going to get millions. It's like, you just, yeah can't compare yourself to people like that. So yeah for me, I think like,

Speaker: I just have to look at look at how many people are really liking it. Like 50 people in this world think this looks great. They loved my stuff. They made positive comments. And I'm like, I have to remember that. There were 50 people who, if I put them all in a room right now, that would be a ton of people. was going say that. Yeah. Oh my God. On the same page there.

Speaker: If there were 50 people in the room... yeah I was going to say, like, if there were 50 people in a room with you right now, you'd be like, holy shit, there's a lot of people in here. Yes. If there were 100 people in a room, 99 of them, you know you know that Lady Gaga thing?

Speaker: No, I actually don't. What is that? She's like, if there're if there are a hundred people in a room and 99 don't believe in you, and then one person does, like, I don't know the full quote, but it's something like that. Oh, okay. Anyway, you didn't get it. It's okay. It's okay. You're the smart one. I'm the hot one, remember? So it's just, you know, playing interpret. much dumb slut to understand. It's okay.

Speaker: Oh my God. Can you explain numbers to me or something? I don't know. Oh, yes. ah Well, I was, ah you're right. Like, I think like if we remember that it's like if a hundred people were in the room, all sitting there being like, you look gorgeous.

Speaker: You look sexy as F. Yeah. It's like, yeah. shit You're like, yeah you would feel so good. Like you would feel, um yeah you'd be overwhelmed by how good you feel. But think the problem is that like through the lens of social media,

Speaker: you don't feel that the social media likes don't feel that same way because you're not really seeing it in person. So I think sometimes we seek too much for that and we try to chase that. So, Oh yeah. I mean, hundred yeah, it, yeah. I will say that's probably only the one downside to like slutty wear is like the need to feel like you need all that confirmation that what you're wearing is sexy and great. And it's like, I love this. Like you bringing in that up, remind me, i'm like, yes, that's true. Like,

Speaker: real people are liking your stuff. These are not just numbers on a screen. So, you know, make that slutty top, make those slutty shorts, make that slutty hat. Like, you know, like you're, we're in our slut eras, all of us, even if you're not actually acting on it, it's like, you can still like live the culture of it. Yeah. You have permission.

Speaker: Yes. Well, I mean, even like the the whole validation thing is so real. And like, I do think you get used to it. Like when you first start out with the social media, no one follows you. So posting anything, you're not going to get any likes. But then you eventually build. And then let's say you start getting consistently 10 likes on things. You're like, wow, that's way more than I used to get.

Speaker: Then you build up. Now 20 people are liking it. And then you just get numb to how many people are liking your stuff. that you compare even what you're posting now to what you posted yesterday and be like, oh wow, it sucked. It only got like 500 likes. you know like that That's where your mind goes, but it's like, that's insane.

Speaker: But aside from the validation stuff, the fact of the matter is, if you like it, you should post it anyway. Like this podcast, for example, when we first started this podcast, we had two followers, you and me. It's true. It's true. Yes. But we were excited when we one person. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. And like, i remember when we were like, oh my God, we broke double digits. You know, like we built from... Nothing. And now we have like over 100 people subscribed to our channel, which thank you very much for subscribing. Yes. We hope you've enjoyed the season. um But the point of that is we liked the content that we were making and we decided to post it anyway because we like it.

Speaker: So we as the maker really were like, we like what we're doing. We believe in what we're doing. If it takes off, then great. And if not, then, well, we have fun recording it. and like clearly what really matters yes and we're going to continue to do that as long as we are having this great time no matter our following but of course we're not going to say no to new followers so as we kind of you know like wrap up on well we're not wrapping up anything we're we're staying unwrapped yeah um we are ah ah you're welcome everyone for that um

Speaker: So as we wrap up this season, as you're going to reflect on everything that's gone, we look back at like, you know, the 20 episodes we did for season one. We're very excited and very grateful to everybody who subscribed, listened, liked, shared, listened,

Speaker: chatted with us about things, commented, all of you, love so much. Thank you so much. um And if you want to continue to be part, or if you want to continue, if you want to be a part of that same community, then feel free to click subscribe and click that bell notification, of course, because we will always continue to bring you this good content. um yes Even though Andrew's going to now talk to you about um ah like, you know, our plans for what we're going to be doing after this, now that the season is over.

Speaker: Yeah, so we are going on a bit of a hiatus. We're going to take a couple months off and really build up our plans for season two. We've got lots of really fun things in store. I'm really excited for season two. We want to build on a lot of the stuff we talked about in season one. And, you know, as you saw in our last episode, episode 19, we had a guest. Thank you so much, Jimmy, for being with us.

Speaker: We want to do more of that and just keep continuing to build an online community so uh you know we're gonna take a little bit of a break and build all that stuff up in the next couple of months and hopefully come back with a bigger better sexier podcast for you yes uh in the meantime thank you so much for joining and we look forward to seeing you again in a few months and have a wonderful day bye yes goodbye
