Speaker: It's i just so desperate. it's and Look, you know what? I'm going to walk this back a bit because I know I come off hard on the troops sometimes. but You do hate the troops. I will walk this back a bit because you're also, you know,
Speaker: You're fully decked out in fatigues in 103 degree weather, just sun bearing down on you. You're going to just find, you you have to find shit to keep you motivated. Like it's different. I'm not going to completely compare it to church because church on Sunday, you can just not go and have an extra weekend day. You can just sleep in twice a week.
Speaker: Like you can do that and nothing happens. Like you're not eating a scrum filet on the, uh, USS Sarah Palin. Yeah.
Speaker: Hey everybody, welcome to another episode of Growing Up Christian. I'm Sam. I'm Casey. And boy, we have ah we have a variety episode today. But but first, before we get into the the real the real meat of the episode, I think it's important to discuss how America's back, baby.
Speaker: We are... back We have renamed Lake Ontario to Lake America, and honestly, things have been really good since then. But, you know, to some people it might feel arbitrary, but it really takes the the sharp corners off of losing a war.
Speaker: It really, it softens the blow significantly, because I am... I mean, you know me, I'm usually at like, you know, on a scale of one to 10 historically around a one for my level of patriotism.
Speaker: And I got to say, I'm soaring at like an eight now, dude. We have the Gulf of America, the Lake of America, and now we're flirting with the ocean of America, the American ocean.
Speaker: Yeah, the the Trump straight. o Yeah, that's right. We're about to get the Trump straight. What a cheeky little fella he isn't he? He's always being, he's just being silly all the time. Yeah.
Speaker: ah I'll be honest, lake of america i mean ocean American Ocean kind of makes sense. The entire Western Hemisphere is America. It's the Americas.
Speaker: Yeah. That's the continent. I can't wait until we rename Canada MAGA Hat AR-15.
Speaker: Dude, you see that MapQuest downloads have blown up because ah google Google capitulated immediately and was like, yeah, it's now ah it's now like ah like like like America. And ah Apple Maps held out for like three days and then they caved because Tim Cook was offered another gold watch probably.
Speaker: and and And so now people are downloading MapQuest. going Vote with your dollar, baby. It's very funny to be like ah one of the most powerful people in the world and and being like getting your your nuts in a vice over literally like you're literally ruining the planet and and enslaving a population. But like Trump's like so pulling your short and curlies over like renaming a body of water your executive order.
Speaker: on a shared body of water. Like, what are you doing? Wasn't that, didn't, didn't that get named under some like treaty of the eighteen hundreds or some shit? Yeah. so We know how he feels about treaties. So I guess that doesn't really matter, but.
Speaker: if Like, if you don't if you don't to honor my ah my ridiculous renaming of, you know, this this mountain or whatever, then, you know, I'm going to cancel your contract to legally own the souls of like 30 percent of America.
Speaker: to i mean essentially that's the contract that he's been signing i mean you see his uh his truth his truth social post about like his love of data centers and how much china loves that we're not moving forward doing data centers everywhere like yeah me all over us you're like who doesn't want a data center unless they're just a slovenly poor caveman Even the it like truth social is just, you know, running rampant like ah just for like MAGA idiots. Right. And so every comment on his post about that was like, yeah, this isn't it, dude.
Speaker: Yeah, you know, I voted for you. I'm a MAGA Republican, but you got this all wrong. on day Nobody, nobody. This is one of the most bipartisan issues in the country.
Speaker: It's it might be the number one bipartisan issue. It's kind of amazing. I mean, it really shows you like if if you can make a case to the general public for something, you can still animate a good enough majority of people to like take some sort of action.
Speaker: And it's it's wild because you get these like once in a while you get something that just like animates people and they get excited about it and it just picks up steam. So like the data centers and the flock cameras are two things that people hate.
Speaker: And it's bipartisan. Because the endgame is obvious. Like, oh, why do we need flock cameras? what I mean, so cop obviously, so cops can spy on their exes. That's an important issue that I know a lot of people are concerned about. But like in data centers, like you're you're trying to put up this this like three square mile building that's supposed to replace my my job. Like everyone knows that's what the purpose of that shit is. So yeah, they're not, no one's buying it.
Speaker: Like it's, it's just, it's, it's, it's proper input so that, you know, when Carl's Jr. announces their own, like, ah you know, AI image generator, they can properly generate like, you know, accurate child porn.
Speaker: Well, I saw this thing today that was about the insane increase in AI-generated CP from Grok.
Speaker: i think it's legal. I don't know. i don't I don't want to speak out of turn, but like there was some sort of court ruling recently where they established, at least at the you know at whatever level, that like that fell within your First Amendment rights to generate you know, AI, CSAM.
Speaker: As long as it isn't depicting an actual person. Like, if it if an AI image is generated, that is a like If it generated AI with it using a real person, then it's illegal.
Speaker: But as long as it's not a real person... What if it's of myself? Can you do that of yourself? I don't... That's... If I generate images of 13 year old me, like pounding away at, at 39 year old me.
Speaker: yeah like Yeah. Is that cool? I mean, is it cool? Probably. Is it legal? Different question. They'd probably be like, no, that's gay, but you can do it of your wife because you legally own her.
Speaker: Yeah. it's That's the red state policy. That's going to be the Texas policy is like, you know, codifying. You have to live next to a data center.
Speaker: You can't have access to Pornhub, but you can, of course, generate child porn of your wife. Yeah, I can't. We live in absolute hell. It never gets better. Everything gets worse by the day. It's, um,
Speaker: It's bad, dude. I don't have to do with it anymore. i Dude, because remember, I feel like months ago we were talking about like ah oh take what needing to take a break from the in constantly ingesting current events and media and whatever's going on.
Speaker: I don't even feel that way. Dude, I'm so numb. like I'm i'm like dead inside now, and it just doesn't affect me at all. and Now i just I just soak it all in and maybe tell someone about it at work ah that I...
Speaker: that you can do that with like you know yeah i don't just say it to random people i'm not trying to be that guy but like the people i share an office with you know largely feel unaffected now like i'm in the i just did that like the numbing zone where you're just don't eat what i mean yeah this is this is our reality just take it all in breathe it in deep the real like the last bastion of hope and as much as i just despise the democratic party in so many ways like we just need some sort of pushback so like the midterms are like the last possible glimpse of hope that you can put the brakes on this to some extent because the supreme court is like you know they're like 50 50 and standing against insane things right now they they'll ah They'll do something and you're like, okay, wow. Is there still checks and balances? And then the next day they'll approve something that you're like, I can't believe.
Speaker: i okay I can't believe they're allowing ah you know the Trump family to bet on the next piece of legislation Trump signs or something like that. Right. what was the one they There was one they just did. I'm trying to recall it on the fly here, but it had to do with like It had, oh, it was with the the ballroom. It was like, well, it's not technically illegal. I mean, it's technically illegal and you can't like you you can't do it without congressional approval, but
Speaker: they like sidestepped it by saying, It's not illegal, but it's not enforceable. Like you can't like no, no there's no organization that can sue him over it.
Speaker: Like it's ah some sort of like historic historical, like preservation. It's one of those organization. And they're like, well, you can't sue him over it because it's outside of like your area, I guess. I don't know.
Speaker: I don't know. Justice is playing accountability twister where they weave themselves into knots and be like, well, I didn't OK it. I didn't vote to OK it, but I did actually allow him to do it. Yeah. Yeah. That's all your means. Did you see have you watched any of this stuff about the beef thing?
Speaker: Oh, yeah. The Argentinian beef that got recalled along with you know mangoes. and we It's a new recall every fucking day, dude. Well, so he approved, he he put out a Truth Social post like last week or something saying that we had to quote unquote like rebuild the American beef herd.
Speaker: Yeah. Because I don't know, it was disaster under Biden or whatever the thing is. Yeah, I think Biden fucked all the cows to death or something. i don't know. Yeah. ah biden is Biden is roaming around in his Ebenezer Scrooge pajamas, shoving screw worms in the rectums of cows. that So they're importing 300,000 tons, I think is the number, of of ground beef of unspecified origin to be sold at 20% below market value.
Speaker: Yeah. Literally just cutting the throats of the American farmer. Yeah. Who is like already in terrible positions, you know, like what i meanwhile, and on and stuff. I mean, it's meanwhile, he's complaining about mom. Donnie doing discounted grocery stores in New York.
Speaker: yeah Like that's the same fucking thing. Dude, dude that's communism. yeah It's communism. This is cronyism. It's different. it's It's communism when a Muslim does it.
Speaker: It won't tell you where the beef's from either. It's like yeah suspiciously right as China rejected an an enormous shipment of Argentinian beef that was like that was like crawling with salmonella or something. It also coincides with a significant increase in the the sale of wild horses.
Speaker: to other countries to be used for meat. Are you familiar with that one? i Just a hair. I just saw like ah the smallest thing about it. but it's Essentially, like for for years, i mean it's been decades that they've allowed...
Speaker: the sale of wild horses in certain areas to basically population control right like um but there's these weird loopholes that essentially they they're like rounding up these horses and selling them for like 20 bucks a horse and sending them out to other countries to be ground down for meat where they eat horse i don't know So maybe that's, that's partly probably what's coming back to us. Who knows? Because they went through all these lengths to make sure that they didn't have to have like your classic, like, you know, FDA labels specifying where the meat came from and what's in it. so
Speaker: Yeah, he's like flirting with the idea of lifting like packing plant restrictions and allowing farmers to like process their own meat, which comes with its own set of concerns and problems because they'll end up loosening FDA checks and stuff a bunch to do it.
Speaker: But it's like at the same time, there's a course there's a part of me that's like a that could be a good thing. i don't think Due Dissidence did a really good video on it where they were like, yeah, they need to bust up the monopoly on like beef processing and stuff, but like these are not the people to do it.
Speaker: Right, because what they're going to do is, like they've always done, is just obliterate any form of legitimate regulation, and then it's just going to become a problem. Now, I've got to say, in Massachusetts, i'm um I feel, despite you know the...
Speaker: extremely high cost of living and some of the challenges that come with living here. We're pretty good. Um, you know, when you look at all the States that receive all the recalled goods, we're like never on the list.
Speaker: A lot of our stuff is locally sourced in our grocery stores. Um, it, I think Texas and Florida were the only ones really on the list for the Argentinian and beef. Go fucking figure. like Yeah, who cares?
Speaker: they're not Actually, let it slide. We need to, we need to you know. but You need to motivate. ah A bunch of ah slovenly, like... ah Rascal scooter ridden boomers dying of like E. coli beef might be what James Tallarico needs to get elected, you know?
Speaker: Cause if the it's it's really like it would Trump in the the right, trying to rig the, the primaries, right. Uh, or sorry, the, like the, um, uh, not primaries, um, generals, ah This might be the last chance to ah let a few things slide. It might be the last one. Yeah, because if we it. I mean, it's a lot of people who hate him now.
Speaker: it It's a lot. I think on the economy, he's at like 23% approval rating. I mean, historic lows. Lowest that's ever happened. ahed and At this point, you know, if if there isn't a blue wave or blue tsunami, it was stolen. like Voting is fake. Yeah. it's Because, I mean, areas that were like R plus 16 are now like have had like a 30 point dip.
Speaker: And if that's the case and they and and all right winger sycophants still win, it's like, all right, where it's toast. I mean, we we no longer have free and fair elections.
Speaker: There's no coming back from it. um I have to really, really get on my like my Canadian heritage level. uh, my right to Canadian, uh, uh, what's, wow.
Speaker: Like im a great I can immigrate, repatriate, whatever. Yeah. What? I don't know. Whatever. Uh, citizenship. That wasn't a hard word. I don't know why I couldn't get it. Uh,
Speaker: I have a right to Canadian citizenship because my great grandfather was in fact very, very, very Canadian. And so they in December, they reopened up. they They they didn't put a limit on jet. It used to be like it couldn't be more than a grandparent. And now Canada's like, look, if you can prove Canadian ancestry, then you can apply for citizenship.
Speaker: So I do need to do that. Crush you with our tariffs. Yeah. Trade embargo you. I mean, if we stop, ah Trump, I think he did a, I think it was today. Maybe it was yesterday. It was another truth social tweet about how much we pay essentially he didn't say the country but you know how he like beats her as well well i can't say who it is but we know who you're in a trade war with right now and it's canada and he's like we'll actually we'll actually make 40 billion dollars by limiting trade that's how much canada's defrauding us and it's like ah dude who makes i nobody's buying the numbers no like Literally, like the the numbers he spouts, like every time he brings up the Iranian protesters, it it doubles.
Speaker: It was 10,000, and then it was 30, and then it was 50. And then like last week, he posted about Iran killing 100,000 protesters. Yeah, but he's also- Nobody cares what you have to say anymore He's also, you know, with ah his like his little Trump ah prescription website or whatever, he's out there being like, you know, we're we're really, we we've lowered the cost three, four, 600% some drugs.
Speaker: Sure. And you're like, cool. Yeah. 100% is the lowest you can drop something before you are paying people to take your drugs. I mean, there's no 600% decrease unless you're paying people to buy them. And and yeah it was months ago that he first started saying that. RFK is like, oh, Trump has a different way of doing math and calculating it. If it went up 600%, it's And he's bringing it down to 100%. That's a 500% decrease according to Trump. And you're like, what are you doing, dude? Why are you here?
Speaker: Hey, Robert, you have load on your face. yeah And a little bit of shittle. he just And your mustache. Maybe ask Olivia Nuzzy about that.
Speaker: It's so funny, too, the way that like like the tide has shifted. You can't assess anything by like what you see on social media because they keep busting these like MAGA influencers as like working for the Pentagon, you know, and stuff yeah like spreading yeah propaganda and whatnot. They have getting paid like $7,000 post.
Speaker: Yeah. And they're doing the same thing in Latin America. There's too much. There's too much. Not going to dip into another thing. But like yeah ah the guy running. So we have a Democratic governor here in Kansas and the Republican that's running against her. His name's like Ty Masterson.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. Some old boomer doofus. And he has right when you're going down the turnpike, right when you pass Emporia, like you're coming back towards where I live. He has three enormous billboards in a row, and it's him and Trump not together. They didn't take a photo together. They are superimposed together. Trump is the same size as Time Astroson on Time Astroson's billboard.
Speaker: And it has like three words on either on like every one of them. It's like cut taxes, good beef number, lower age of consent.
Speaker: yeah It's so so stupid. And you're like, how can you be this dumb at this point? Like he has a terrible approval rating. Everybody hates this guy That's for real.
Speaker: That's for real. No, he's insane. But that's where we, that's where we're at now. I have to ask. right i have to ask.
Speaker: It's insane. Tallarico's been dumping some fucking killer attack ads against Ken Paxton. He might do it.
Speaker: He might pull it off. attack ads are phenomenal in the way it's just like Ken Paxton refuses to debate because his APAC handlers won't let him because of all his corruption charges. And then they just list everything he's been charged with. It's like, dude, he is they're going for the throat. It's so nice. It's so nice.
Speaker: Dude, they I mean, some of these guys are doing a pretty good job of ah of running against these guys on their own terms. Yeah. And I like it. So it's nice. So we got a bunch of ah great stories tonight.
Speaker: This is a very music focused episode. Yes. OK. Yes. Because the Christian music world. It's a buzz, brother. and So you've got one to start, right? Mm-hmm. Really big fan of this one um because then it does involve one. It's tough because it does involve one of our favorite bands of all time.
Speaker: They've been talked about a lot on this show. When we have guests, it's almost inevitable that one of their albums comes up. And yeah, It's a very special band near and dear to our hearts called Skillet.
Speaker: I know a lot of you out there also adore them the same way we do. There's some alien youth listening to this podcast right now, I'm sure. And there is ah they're little they're a little enveloped in a scandal right now. And it's not...
Speaker: 100% their fault. You can blame the fans. But right now, we're dealing with Christian... This is... ah The article I'm going to pull from is ah is from Vice. It says that Christian Rock group Skillet booted their tour opener after fans hurled profane accusations against Bad Wolves singer Sarah Skinner.
Speaker: Now, these profane accusations, that's one way to word it. What happened was... your typical MAGA redditors, I suppose, got it on there. One of their trans investigations and they got this one wrong.
Speaker: ah Not a huge surprise, but a bad wolves vocalist, Sarah, she goes by kill boy, which honestly, if you go by a nickname and you're in a band, I don't like you. I don't like your band. I don't bad wolves. Isn't good. i saw them live like a year and a half ago because they were with somebody else.
Speaker: But they didn't have a female singer at that time. Yeah, she's new. I think the old one got booted out because of, know. Probably groomed somebody. COVID, something or whatever. Yeah. I mean...
Speaker: So really what's going on is, ah all right, ah there's new tour tea to spill. Christian rock band Skillet has allegedly booted opening act Bad Wolves from their tour. The reason Skillet fans made some unfounded accusations against Bad Wolves' new singer Sarah Killboy Skinner.
Speaker: Now, I'm guessing a lot of their research led them to believe that Killboy came from her being, formerly identifying as male, and she killed the boy in her, and now she's a woman. I'm guessing that's where this started. um they They don't really live in the gray. They kind of just, everything's a little black and white for these people. But...
Speaker: In a video message shared on social media, Skinner shared the news and explained the situation as she understood it. Mainly, Skillet fans deemed her to be a trans-only fans bitch. Quote. That was a quote. Trans-only fans bitch is a quote.
Speaker: She also alleged that Skillet did not want to disclose the reason why Bad Wolves was being kicked off tour. Which, again, come on, Skillet. You... What are you... They're pathetic. They just... Their fans said some shit and they were like, oh, if they can't be on... Like, that's... but That's...
Speaker: Usually like a tour manager has something to say about what the tour package is. So ah maybe they're their own tour managers at this point. I could see that. um Now, Skillet's camp did not want me to say anything, Skinner said, but apparently a statement has to be made and I am not someone who's ever hidden who the fuck I am.
Speaker: So let's not leave you to speculate. Okay. Skinner went on to say that after the tour was announced, Skillet fans decided to go on a transvestigation of her life. Here's the truth.
Speaker: This is Skinner. ah Skillet announced us on their tour and their fans had a field day doing very extensive research that their booking agents and management did not do upon the finding their findings. I'm a trans OnlyFans bitch. The singer went on to quip.
Speaker: Now, unfortunately, only one of those things is true. Have fun finding out. Finally, Skinner wrapped up her message with saying, we will see you on the next tour. Skinner and Bad Wolves have been getting a lot of supportive comments in the wake of their announcement.
Speaker: No hate like Christian love strikes again. Not surprising considering Skillet is a Christian nationalist mouthpiece. One person said seemingly referring to Skillet frontman John Cooper's controversial opinion. Seemingly John Cooper is a psychopath.
Speaker: it's It's not cool to bait and swap out bands. Someone else said thank you for letting us your fans know that you won't actually be there. Although they've marketed with your name at least partly. And someone else said, I've pulled away from skill lately as they are very judgmental. I think the Bible says, judge not lest you be judged. Keep doing you.
Speaker: I've got your six. Okay. I don't want to hear from anyone. I don't want to hear from anyone who says I've got your six ever. Like, don't include that. You could have just let ended with a dot, dot, dot. You don't need that. I've got your six. That person's not to be trusted. You cannot trust anyone who says I've got your six in a serious way.
Speaker: Dude, that person has a bunch of ducks on the dash of their Wrangler. yeah So I don't know what she is. um If one of those things is true, she's either trans, she either does OnlyFans, or she's a bitch. And she might just be a self-described bitch. But she's not trans. We know that one's not true. We know that the internet got it wrong.
Speaker: They pizzagated her pretty hard. ah The singer Bad Wolves got pizzagated. And they got dropped off a tour. Which, look. Do you really want to go on tour with Skillet?
Speaker: Isn't this kind of a win? Like, you actually got more out of this than you lost. You could have gone on tour with Skillet and everyone have been like, hmm, okay, another band opening for Skillet. They wouldn't have cared that much, especially if they were there for Skillet. But now you get the media frenzy.
Speaker: Dude, I would love it if someone transvestigated me. I would love it if if if that's what it took to blow this podcast up, that'd be sick. You know, I'm surprised that this is what got them because I see I'm looking through their discography here. I see they have a song called Jesus Slaves.
Speaker: Wow. I mean, that's a clever play on words. They go. That's hard, dude. i Let's see what this says. But John Cooper, John Cooper feels like the kind of guy who would do the classic like, yeah you know, we'll go on tour with anybody. You know, we we stand on the truth.
Speaker: We stand on the truth and the word of God, and we want the light to permeate the darkness. And if we have an opportunity to bring people in and share the message of love, the gospel of Jesus Christ, then why wouldn't we want to do that? Well, they do. Okay.
Speaker: We want to spread the gospel, right? And we want to welcome people in, but you kind of need to conform to our behavioral standards before you can come in. Well, if that's the case, I hope they close the bars at all the venues they perform at.
Speaker: Let's see what Jesus slaves is like. Oh, it says, you know, that blame crap's getting old. You keep assuming I care. Another chase unfolds when the moon is full again. a silver bullet painted gold. Another trapped in the snare. was he that Jesus can't save us, baby.
Speaker: A silver bullet painted gold. why't just Why not just a golden bullet? I don't know. I assume a silver bullet alludes to werewolves. Um, Yeah, a one-size-fits-all solution, like a universal fix for something.
Speaker: he But I don't know why you would paint it gold. I'm not good at lyrics, so. ah So when the wolves awaken and the witches burn, now tell me, couldn't you face it when you started No!
Speaker: yeah Keeping up with the ghost, a dozen dimes for the dead. An apparition, cold, when the moon is full again. And you belong with your bones, another throne made to made of death, cause even Jesus can't save us, baby. I feel like they chat GPT'd.
Speaker: Hey, chat, give us hymn lyrics, but redo them so it sounds different. This is an old album, so it's before ChatGPT was big.
Speaker: oh But oh yeah, it could it certainly could be. i Was this possibly the influence for the I Think You Should Leave sketch where ah where Tim's like, the bones are their money, the worms are their dollars.
Speaker: They pull your hair up but not out.
Speaker: the last little bit in this that closes it out it says jesus saves jesus slaves jesus saves jesus enslaves six six six pretty good pretty good bad wolves real clever you should everyone check them out this is actually just a ah bad wolves plug yeah No, I did not enjoy them very much in concert.
Speaker: It's got a real like military mom at the state fair sort of metal. Yeah. It's five finger death punch stuff.
Speaker: yeah God. Okay. Yeah. Yep. but Is it like heavy? Is it hard? Or is it kind of like soft? Like, it's like like goth rock death punch. It's like, um, it's like disturbed level metal core. Okay. Okay.
Speaker: Yikes. Well, what else is going on in the world of music? Uh, another one of our favorite, pages less talked about, but this one has come up and, uh, they're, they're on some, they're on their busy work right now.
Speaker: Yes. So next music story, Netflix sued over K-pop Demon Hunters by Christian Metal Band. So this has been making the rounds and all the Christian pages and stuff, but Christian Metal Band Demon Hunter is suing Netflix over its animated hit K-pop Demon Hunters, alleging trademark infringement and accusing the streamer of unfair competition as the show's success eclipses the band's brand.
Speaker: i'm so I got that right. Van's brand is a ton twister. i'm I'm proud of you. i One of the things I looked up after this story broke is I played Warcraft 3 a lot as a kid.
Speaker: Strategy game. um And in Warcraft 3, you can have a hero. And that hero is called the Demon Hunter.
Speaker: And i was like, there's no way. There's no way this band came out before Warcraft introduced the Demon Hunter class.
Speaker: and Well. They did. They did. Demon Hunter's old, yeah. I didn't realize that. I was blown away because I was waiting for Blizzard to launch their counter lawsuit. And now they can't. Yeah. The band Demon Hunter was around before before Warcraft introduced the Demon Hunter into their ah into into their roster.
Speaker: Yeah, their first album 2002 in the was Warcraft a year later. ah three was like two thousand it was like a year later had a I bought the X 2003 Christian Music Sampler. It was like the Christian rock views version of Now That's What I Call Music. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: And it had a Demon Hunter song on it from ah from their original like self-titled album called Infected. Is it fair to call Demon Hunter metal? I don't know them enough yeah to to think about that. they like to know I'd say so. It's metalcore. I associate them with more of a rock vibe, but i I don't remember that band much. I didn't care for them. I never listened to them. um I know I've heard them, but i just didn't. I liked them.
Speaker: i did I liked some of their stuff. I had a few of their albums. I actually like one of their more recent ones I listened to a little bit. It's pretty good. you know i just The name was off-putting to me. I heard the name and thought kind of i thought immediately it seemed kind of lame. like Yes. It's too try-hard. Yeah, it's too try-hard. Like, that oh, we're real serious Christians. We haunt demons. We're so badass. i just it was just It just felt lame mean What's really lame is that there are tons of people who have gotten the Demon Hunter logo tattooed on themselves. Yeah.
Speaker: And that sucks. i I don't even know what their logo is. it's like a It's like a devil skull with one horn that's longer than the other.
Speaker: oh cool. Another band... that people's logo, that people have had the logo tattooed on them quite a bit is like the the star with the two points cut off from Oh Sleeper.
Speaker: Is that from Oh Sleeper? Yeah. I thought that was like some other thing. i don't know. Maybe some anti-Zionist stuff, you know? You thought it was anti-Zionism. Which makes it cooler by default.
Speaker: i Yeah. i Dude, I actually threw on, um what's their first album? The one that just people love. um Oh, Sleeper?
Speaker: Yeah, it had the Vices Like Vipers song. Yeah, that song rules. I never listened to them a ton, but I like that song. it That was like the standout track, and that was like the that's the first track on the album. And it it is musically, it's really good. I still like it, but I listened to it yesterday and today. um And i I was like, I'm going to throw that album on.
Speaker: Um, I don't, I don't care actually about that band. I think that that one song is the best song on the album and the rest of the album's just okay. That might be a very unpopular opinion. Uh, also I hate their lyrics, their lyrics. When you go back at it, it's just like, it's pretty, it's pretty fucking cringy and dorky. It's just, Oh man, Mike Fox going to be so upset. I know. Sorry, Mike. you're You're a great guy, Mike. You're a great guy, Mike. I,
Speaker: I'm sharing my opinions into the void. Who cares? was friends with some of those some of those guys, I think. But one of those guys died, I think, ah that wrote a lot of the music. But I think they have new music coming out.
Speaker: They're also not out particularly Christian anymore. a lot of those guys kind of just drifted. like Well, then I got no use for them. Yeah. what's the here This is the end. Dude, this is the end of the song. And I was like, what this is this made youth group kids feel badass. And I was one of them. i'm not ah We were all there. I'm not this isn't i'm not pretending like I was like elevated. Yeah.
Speaker: I'm sure they look back on this and they go, I can't believe that's our most popular song. Like it says, the since all the alibis of ignorance are void, this, my lust, the pornos in the sluts.
Speaker: Take my lust. The world's love. Great counselor. Take what's left. Great counselor. Take what's left of me. It's just like, oh, I just like fucked around with porn and slut so bad that I'm only a fraction of who I used to be. But I'm giving whatever's left of my garbage ass fucking defiled body to the great counselor. I heard that line today and I was like, oh my God, that's so bad. But that arrow was, uh, they, people liked dropping sluts in, uh, in songs back then. There was a time where if you said that word on certain things, like it would like, it would be bleeped out MTV. I think used to bleep it out.
Speaker: That word got pretty, uh, and it It was like a treated as a slur for a while. Well, you know, when you speak the truth boldly, but speak the truth in love, that's going to rumple the world's feathers.
Speaker: It's true. That is true. Well, so um the lawsuit was filed Tuesday by Hydelaine, the corporate entity for Demon Hunter against Netflix.
Speaker: I don't really understand what that means because we were talking about it earlier. and It's like, well, it's not the record label. it's I don't know if Hyde Lane is like their LLC or something like that for the band. It's like you sell your brand name to a corporation, essentially, I think.
Speaker: Because I know other bands have have incorporated in a way that have like Well, Azaleigh Dying, when they went through member changes and this and that, Azaleigh Dying as a band became, it was like incorporated by Tim Lambesis and one other member.
Speaker: And so a lot of the other members didn't have any right to anything when the band imploded. And that was a huge problem for them. So like, I guess that maybe this is similar where like, Oh, we've, we're going to incorporate this as a business in a way that, and we're going to sell it to another company to, to own it and manage it. And just basically their employees,
Speaker: Maybe it's just, I mean, because you probably are going to have an LLC that, you know, you manage your band assets and stuff. Right. So maybe that's just what the LLC is called. there' I don't know. Yeah, it's weird. If anyone else knows, feel free to share it with us.
Speaker: They're basically alleging that like ah because Netflix is doing like a ah a worldwide tour for the band, the band from K-pop Demon Hunters, which is called like, I don't know, ah it's called like X Hunter or something like that.
Speaker: Something, of you know, kind of anime sounding or whatever. Demon Hunter is claiming that they had fans or people who bought tickets to their show. They're claiming that fans bought tickets to their show for $500, thinking that it was a K-pop Demon Hunter thing. And then they get there and it's a Demon Hunter show.
Speaker: And it's crazy to me that there's $500 Demon Hunter tickets. But everybody is doing these like primo tickets now where you get to go back and make awkward small talk with the band members. And yeah, I don't know. They get you have a pizza party or something like that. Well, I can't imagine anything worse than paying for something like that.
Speaker: I, you know, I don't know if I'm, maybe I'm in the minority here, but like, I never really liked, I don't, I don't feel the urge to go talk to people in bands that I see. Cause I just don't know what to say to them. I always feel like very awkward and uncomfortable.
Speaker: Cause I think everyone walks into that scenario thinking we're going to hit it off and be best friends and stay in touch. Like, yeah like, why are we, what? ah Yeah. Oh, Hey man. Great set.
Speaker: Thanks brother. oh Like, what is there? i Like, it's so bad. It's meeting meaning people in bands, like like the merch line or something, is so... ah I'm good. I don't need that.
Speaker: Yeah. Well... I actually thought, when you first mentioned this, I thought you were... I thought this was going to be people spent five... I guess either way, it sucks. People spent $500 and went to demon hunter thinking it was thinking they were buying the K-pop, but you're like, why would there be a $500 demon hunter ticket? But then I was originally, I thought people went and spent $500 thinking they were going to see demon hunter and they ended up seeing the K-pop it. And that's actually the exact same problem.
Speaker: That's still, there are still demon hunter fans. that think they're worth spending $500 on. That's insane. Yeah. And what could the, I mean, I wonder what the, uh, I guess it's like a Disney on ice thing, probably like the shows that they're doing for this, like tour for the K-pop demon hunter people. they They must have like cosplayers or something that are performing the songs from the show or so I haven't watched this show, but I've,
Speaker: It's a movie. It's not a show. It's a movie. Okay. Well, this movie, I've heard a lot of people say it's great. I kind of want to see it because I've heard so much about it at this point, but here's the more or less. I mean, I've seen when it came out, my kids watched it 20 times. So I've, I've caught essentially the entire movie. It's fine. Like I get, it's fine. The music in it is, you know, just K-pop. It's fine. I get, I get it. Um,
Speaker: But spending $500 to go see it, that is also insane. And that can't be the base ticket price, right? Like, of course, base ticket price is probably like $70, $80. And then it blows up. They probably bought those tickets thinking that it was like some sort of backstage primo VIP experience at the K-pop Demon Hunter thing. That may not make sense to you, but to me, I'm an anime guy now.
Speaker: I'm full-fledged anime guy. Yep. Yeah. Berserk. I'm watching it all left and right. Yes. Berserk and, uh, attack on Titan. Okay. Lots of good ones. lot you know, real primo stuff you probably haven't heard of, but yeah, I do. mean, you, realistic real ones you know, the deep cuts.
Speaker: ah basically Japanese. i I watch Naruto, and that's the extent of my interest in anime, and that's only because my kids got into it, and we're watching it together.
Speaker: Yeah, that's normie stuff. It is normie stuff. You know what? Call me when you watch one with a big sexual assault scene in Yeah, I want to... i Yeah, fair.
Speaker: That seems to be a common theme. ah There's some stuff in there where you're like, somebody drew this. Yeah, you're like, like this should i is this illegal to watch? This is insane that somebody sat and drew this.
Speaker: Am I watching an anime or did accidentally Google Rule 34? Yeah.
Speaker: You should allege that lawsuit. like I accidentally google Googled rule 34 demon hunter.
Speaker: yeah But yeah, so the, the, the gap in popularity between these two entities is what makes this so funny because it says, according to Netflix, K-pop demon hunters has amassed more than 600 million views, since its June 2025 debut, making it the most popular original title in the company's history.
Speaker: And the soundtrack, the soundtrack from the movie has generated more than 15 billion streams worldwide. Holy shit. 52 consecutive weeks in Netflix's top global top 10. I mean, it is on it's popular on a level that is like hard to fathom.
Speaker: I mean, the merch to the merch. I was at work today. Again, I work in an elementary school, kindergarten, first grade, uh,
Speaker: I probably saw at least seven or eight K-pop demon hunter t-shirts like, and then I went and then I picked my kids up from my in-laws and one of my nieces had ah had a K-pop demon hunter t-shirt on. Like the merge for this is nuts. The, the cash cow that this is, I mean, at this point, Netflix should be sending, should be sending demon hunter a cease and desist. Like, really? for No, yeah yeah like you guys started it, but we just did it so much better that the law should side with us. Yeah, where's that corporate big dong energy? Just crush them.
Speaker: I do. I can't even imagine. I mean, you know Netflix just has like 5,000 lawyers on retainer. The people at the top of Netflix aren't even going to know about this lawsuit.
Speaker: They're going to settle this one out of court. Yeah, I'm trying to think of what other like major products might interfere with the band. ah what if What if Bugles introduce a spearmint flavor and they call it Five Finger Breath Crunch?
Speaker: Are you kidding me right now, dude? hey That's crack breacher level.
Speaker: Did you plan that one out ahead of time too? Like you did crack Reacher? This one, I was much more on the spot. creatureer It was crack Breacher you came up with. I didn't have to ignore you for three or four minutes to draft that one.
Speaker: Five finger breath crunch. You should be ashamed of yourself. Yeah. takes so much brain power i feel like i need to like unfold a solar panel and recharge ah ah ah okay well yeah net netflix uh best of luck to you demon hunter you know pounce and keep up the lord's work man How far would we have to scroll through the Demon Hunter like TikTok feed before we come across someone who Demon Hunter delivered them from the Juggalo lifestyle or something?
Speaker: You know, like they were doing whippets in the parking lot of like a stained concert. And then they found Demon Hunter and it saved him. Yeah. I want to see the collaboration between Demon Hunter and 5F Church. That's what I need.
Speaker: Yes, absolutely. Like if they're really serious, if they're really serious about the name, I can think of a few locations where demons are readily available to be hunted. Yeah, I think you're if you have a, ah you know, like the terrorist playing cards from the early 2000s, but it's just demons like G.R. Davies got to be like the Ace of Spades or something.
Speaker: Did you say terrorist playing cards? Yeah. Don't you remember this? I don't. the ah They had like a terrorist like most wanted list and they put them on playing cards and the troops would play cards with them supposedly in the early 2000s like during the initial war on terror.
Speaker: ah Dude, why is the military the dorkiest place on earth? I don't know, but I mean, we were threat level red, so desperate times. Remember how long it stayed orange? like You would like watch Fox News, and they always had the threat level meter on the left-hand side. Always. yeah It was always orange. It was orange for like five years.
Speaker: yeah You had an iPhone 6 by the time the threat level went to yellow. Yeah.
Speaker: It was Obama's second term before we went to a, you know, like a burnt, burnt amber color. yeah I can't think of a word like, I mean, really, when you think, oh we're playing, we're using playing cards with terrorists. It's like.
Speaker: That's just... It's like church. Like, the collective effervescence that get people, like, into a thing. It's like... And then when you're in that group, you get to be like, the people outside of it, they don't get it. They don't get it We're like, this is, like, where the real shit's happening. Like, we're... They just don't understand. Like, when you really get in it on the ground level, like, we are... Like, it just...
Like, it's different. I'm not going to completely compare it to church because church on Sunday, you can just...
Speaker: not go and have an extra weekend day. You can just sleep in twice a week. Like you can do that and nothing happens. Like you're not eating a scrumful a on the, uh, USS Sarah Palin. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: So I get it. Look, like I do get that when you're in like the shit in a way, like you're just, you need to find like something to unify. You need to find camaraderie. You need to like rally around something like you, you have to, if you don't want to go insane. Now the flip side is you do go insane because you come out being insufferable in the real world, but it's,
Speaker: It is what it is. Yeah. you go in the other direction and you become a brony. A brony. What's a brony? I know what jabronies are. what's a right What's just a brony? Minus the job. brony is ah ah a grown fella that's into My Little Pony friendship with his I did know that. I did.
Speaker: It just had mostly left my mind. Thankfully, you're so you're up on the the brony game. Dude, you get caught wearing your butt plug in the wrong market around here and you might get shipped off for burger meat.
Speaker: They're rounding up the boys. You don't want to be a ah supple young stallion in the wrong place. You're going to France.
Speaker: It is funny. that the terrorists play You're going to an Argentinian meatpacking plant just to come right back here. yeah ah we send them We send them to Argentina to get like cut with turds. back That's the E. coli. That's where it all comes from. Yeah.
Speaker: It's a 50-50 blend. yeah The terrorist playing cards were funny, though, because I always thought of that as like, okay, this is like a yeah this is like ah you know a Johnny Gosch on the milk carton thing, where it's like, you know... if ah If you see this person shoot to kill sort of deal, right? Like, hey, have you yeah do you recognize this ah this Al-Qaeda guy or something? but and Which is hilarious because we know to the soldiers every single playing card looked to the exact same. That's what I was Yeah.
Speaker: A hopeless gambling addict that that gambled away his entire advance using terrorist playing cards. Could not pick any of them out of a lineup with like, you know, 30 other slightly brown bearded. yeah Well, that's why they killed so many women and children.
Speaker: They can't even tell <unk>t even tell the the women and children apart.
Speaker: oh my god uh the war on terror was so funny yeah dude yeah that is really a oh my god that was a very dumb time in our history that like is glazed over a little bit now ah dude on a side note and we don't have to go down this rabbit hole but do you think we got osama bin laden or do you think that was a total fucking farce I don't know. Osama bin Laden probably like choked on a peanut like 1998. Like, yeah, um because I know there's a conspiracy that the guy in the videos wasn't really him. It was like a decoy. But then they they seal team six is supposedly got him. And then they threw his body overboard. There was no actual body brought back. Like, I just I remember hearing that and I was not.
Speaker: engaging in conspiracy theories in any way shape or form back then that was like 2010 maybe 2011 um and i was just like all right i've never been this guy but this is fishy as fuck the brain space that was in. it's actually a proper sea burial. It's pretty consistent. We were actually respecting Islam. We gave them a proper Islamic burial at sea. It's like, when was the last time you respected, you called them sand N-words. You don't actually respect them.
Speaker: It's etc true. yeah I think that's the headspace I was in at the time as a like a Glenn Beck listener. i was like, well, of course they did that because Obama's a Muslim. Like naturally he's he's doing that for his kinsmen, you know? Yeah, they that that that's true. There was some right wing conjecture at that time that because they didn't want to give Obama credit for it. So there were probably some theories around that, too.
Speaker: Yeah. the The Osama ah burial at sea and the, ah the tan suit was a nod to Bahamut. And, you know, I forgot about the tan suit. You know what? I want to go back to a world where people got mad about tan suits and not about taking 15 million people off healthcare care or whatever it is. Yeah.
Speaker: You know, ah Obama got caught smoking outside the white house. It's like, ne I mean, God, what we wouldn't give my, so I saw my grandma the other day. It was a very funny lady.
Speaker: I really love being around her. She's hilarious, but you know, she's, she's an old lady. And, uh, she, she made mention of the fact that she's like, you know, Donald Trump doesn't smoke or drink.
Speaker: He's never done drugs. I think that's pretty nice. And I'm like, that is pretty nice, Grandma. And then literally everyone on the set of The Apprentice was like, he could not stop snorting Percocets or whatever. dude. Literally, like, filling his Depends. Like, if you if you got too close to his Depends, you'd probably get a buzz off the smell. don't know.
Speaker: That's why everybody's wrinkling their nose whenever they have to stand behind him for like a photo op. Oh, dude, fart he doesn't even have a sphincter anymore. The farts just fall out of his butt.
Speaker: He probably just sounds like ah a tire with a slow leak. There's just an ambient whistle. it's more it's like if you like an open mouth like... That's what you get. he he He actually has a completely prolapsed anus at this point.
Speaker: Yeah, he's a straight piped. His catalytic converter is all knocked out. Yeah. All of his x-rays, it just shows a straight tube going from his mouth to his asshole.
Speaker: Yeah, no back pressure. It's a problem. okay I forget, did you have another music story to bring us? Yes. Possibly the best one. This is interesting. Saving the best for la yeah like your style. no This, I just saw like ah a couple minutes ago before we started recording, but um The headline here, and this is from the Roy's report. Great.
Speaker: This is a great website. I use this a lot nowadays. Yeah. but Very trustworthy. Filing in Newsboys lawsuit against Mercy Me reveals lucrative child sponsorship deal.
Speaker: Child sponsor. Dude, there's a lot of... And maybe we should look into some of this for a future episode, but I feel like child sponsorship companies...
Speaker: Probably. i feel like there's a lot because, okay, when you, as soon as you get involved with Christian anything, it's more ripe for fraud. I feel like Christianity is a grift as a whole, uh, not as a whole, but like functionally in this country, uh, it's, it's often a grift. It, the, the loudest, most popular, most shared on social media, mega church types. It's, it's all grift.
Speaker: And, I feel like when you, I feel like I've heard of controversies surrounding like these child sponsorship programs or entities or companies where it's like, give $40 a month and we're going to make sure we take care of a poor family or poor child in Mexico.
Speaker: and I don't, I don't know enough. I'm sure there's a lot of good being done. It's actually just sponsoring Israeli birthright trips. Yeah. But I'm sure like I've over the years, I've heard several accusations or maybe conspiracies. i don't know of these ah child sponsorship programs or companies like really not being great. So I'm curious to see where this goes. But I think ah a deeper dive on these could be interesting in general.
Speaker: Yeah, I have a little bit of data on that, but. So the thrust the thrust of the story here is the popular Christian band Mercy Me received more than $17 million dollars for promoting child sponsorship organizations over seven years.
Speaker: A new court filing shows. Others benefited richly from the deal as well, including the charity Helping the Children and a brokerage business run by Newsboys owner Wes Campbell.
Speaker: ah The charity Children International, based in Kansas City, Missouri, asks donors to support or sponsor children on several continents for $39 a month.
Speaker: Paperwork from a $1 million dollar rolling agreement signed in 2019 went public this week as part of Wes Campbell's $50 million dollars antitrust lawsuit against 33 parties, including Christian band Mercy Me.
Speaker: So these are big numbers we're talking about here. these These are like considered nonprofit organizations, right? Well, I think that the children international definitely is. I mean, I can't imagine that Wes Campbell's brokerage is, um, and Wes Campbell is a member of mercy. Me.
Speaker: He owns the news boys. Oh, okay. Another weird thing to say, but kind of similar to the last article is. Yeah. Um, I remember there was some controversy around this whole thing during the, the Michael Tate, like, uh, crash out deal. Um,
Speaker: Because ah this guy is the owner. He owns the rights to it for some reason or another. blah, blah. I don't remember the story. But anyways, he is the owner. But yeah, he's a he's got a $50 million dollars antitrust lawsuit against 33 parties, including Christian band Mercy Me.
Speaker: And this is crazy in a way because you would think that like if Wes Campbell is a broker and owner of one of these big Christian bands, like he has to see it as inherently like detrimental to the brand to let people see behind the curtain and really get a look at like how much money is trading hands here and how it's done.
Speaker: Because, I mean, we're talking about $17 million dollars over seven years. So what? That's $2.5 million dollars a year or so ah for that they've gave to Mercy Me. But it says the lawsuit, which also names Roy's report.
Speaker: Wow. OK, so they're involved, alleges that Mercy Me was part of a conspiracy to dismantle Campbell's business, Thriving Children Advocates, TCA, as reported earlier. Roy's report stands by its article and denies any knowledge of a conspiracy, quote unquote.
Speaker: The estrangement between ah Thriving Children Advocates and Mercy Me began when the band broke a seven plus year relationship with Campbell and then signed a sponsorship agreement in late 2025 with TPR slash Liveco, another faith based production company.
Speaker: ah So they broke they broke off their relationship with ah with Campbell's brokerage and signed with another music representation okay company.
Speaker: um Campbell's TCA accuses Mercy Me of multiple wrongdoings. They range from creating a monopoly in the Christian music touring and sponsorship market. Oh, no. To unlawfully sharing. thought we liked monopolies now. when When did monopolies become a problem?
Speaker: When was it last hit what was the last, like what are the lawsuits against monopolies called? Anti-trust. anti it's anti-sum What is it? anti- Antitrust. I think it's antitrust.
Speaker: I don't remember the last antitrust lawsuit that, like or antitrust whatever, that That went through. We don't bust them up anymore. I mean, we've allowed all of our media companies to like massively conglomerate. Like we don't care.
Speaker: Yeah. What leg do you have to stand on? If you're going to go on precedent, nothing. i would You got nothing. I wish we could resurrect the ghost of Theodore Roosevelt to just trust us. The Ellison's into the grave.
Speaker: Dude, trust bust every I I think we're so far to not to get political, but I will real quick. I think we're so far gone that the only in the way that I believe in UBI, which, you know, I get that there's people have problems with that. Communists.
Speaker: Yeah. i when when The alternative is actually creating a fair economy and you know busting shit up and giving people living wages. But if we're not going to do that, a UBI becomes necessary, especially with the rise of AI. But if we're at the very least...
Speaker: When any small business is facing up against Walmart, Target, any big box store, we need to tax the shit out of them and subsidize small business.
Speaker: The government should be massively subsidizing small business. You want to start a small business? Cool. You pay $8 an hour for their wages. You pay $10 an hour for their wages.
Speaker: The government pays the next $10, $12, $15, $30, whatever. don't care. thirty whatever i don't care like But half the reason small businesses, ah startups can't get off the ground is because wages, like you can't hire people.
Speaker: You can't pay people living wages anymore. And I get so frustrated with this, like with the conversation at like the top end where people are like, Everyone deserves a living wage. Yes, they do.
Speaker: You there aren't enough jobs available that like your local pizza shop. They're raising their prices every six months. And it's like and they're barely scraping by. You can't pay living wages anymore. And now the government needs to actually come close if the employer didn't have to also carry like the the weight of their health care.
Speaker: Yes. Like the health care thing is such a stupid model. beautiful And you universal health care would change everything. It's it's a it's unbelievable. Like I've, you know, get more involved in work on the financial side of our business and It's crazy what the healthcare care costs are.
Speaker: I mean, it's just insane. And it just goes up and up and up and up, you know? And you could eat. And that's, what's so funny, like in the conversation around it, like, i think it was an interview with Abdul El-Sayed that I heard where they're like, so would,
Speaker: would taxes go up for universal healthcare? And he's like, he keeps trying to like, not give them the clip that Fox news wants. Right. Which is, yes, your taxes will go up. So he doesn't say that, but it's like, you might pay more in taxes.
Speaker: Uh, but like you're right now you're paying $7,000, $10,000, $12,000 year in premiums. And, like your taxes might go up four or 5,000. So you're going to save $6,000 dude.
Speaker: dude But from thinking about it from your end, like if you didn't, if companies didn't bear the burden of health insurance, not all companies would do this because there's a lot of shit ass companies out there. But from what I hear about where you work, like, that opens up a lot more money to discuss wage increases and incentive packages and shit like that. Like, yeah, that's huge. And I, the way you talk about your company, I believe that they're like you guys or other companies like that, that actually do care about the individuals who work for them would be like, I would love, i would love to be able to open up the negotiation table and create a, and ah better incentive package. But,
Speaker: Oh, yeah, we are. We're paying set up a guillotine in front of the the United Health Care Office. What what what better incentive than having to go and look at a guillotine every day?
Speaker: How much is an MRI? And you just hear that that that metal sliding zone. Chunk. The sound of a samurai taking out their blade. Dude, we just we'll just set it up in front and just like slice watermelons for days on end, you know, to just to get them thinking.
Speaker: um Okay. Lawyers for Mercy Me filed a motion in federal district court to have 11 claims against the man dismissed. In response, Campbell filed additional paperwork on August 25th, revealing that Mercy Me signed a $1 million dollars contract with TCA in 2019 exchange for child sponsorships. The contract included an option of repeating the deal for another $1 million. dollars The contract does not disclose how much TCA was paid by Children International for the contract.
Speaker: But, I mean, that gives you an idea. um Basically, the band was paid like $230 for each new confirmed sponsor.
Speaker: ah Through this, TCA recouped their $1 million dollars advance to the band, which... Once the band reached 22,500 sponsors, the contract was fulfilled. So the band would hawk this and as people signed up for it through them, then they would fulfill their contract. Yeah, so it sounds like they got a $1 million dollars advance, and then TCA would recoup the money that they advanced to Mercy Me by these sponsorships. So if you figure $22,500 comes down to for each sponsorship, what
Speaker: the actual like children international paying t c a Yeah. For that. Cause they're just getting all that. and It's 40 bucks a month. So they're acting like 40. When you do this, you, you, but you get this idea in your head that like, Oh, I'm going to sponsor a child for 40 bucks a month. That child's going to get 40 bucks a month, but obviously cuts are taken off the top. $40 a month is $480 a year. So of that $480, $230 is being recouped by TCA from the band for each sponsorship that they do. I don't know if they're looking at this on a yearly level or if they're projecting it outward further, but...
Speaker: that's a lot of money trading hands for a $40 a month sponsorship. Right. Right. Now I did pull up some info on children. justify that dude You know how they justify theyre like, well, yeah, but when you think about the exchange rate, like you give $40 a month, they're getting $40 a month in their currency. Yeah.
Speaker: How much is ramen noodles in, you know, Bangladesh or whatever, like dude pennies. Yeah. It's still $6 that they get per month to the family. I mean, that's a, that's three weeks wages right there whatever.
Speaker: Dude, ramen noodles are the only, the only food in America that has never been affected by inflation. The only food. It's true. ah So according to charity, watch.org children international has an a minus rating.
Speaker: um Oh, that's not 76% of the income is spent on their programs.
Speaker: That's not bad, actually. So that means for every $100 raised, they take $14 in administrative fees and things. That's really not bad. No, not too bad.
Speaker: That's better than a lot of them. I mean, art it's better than our healthcare care system. Who knows how these numbers are calculated? I mean, I'm sure you can look further into it. probably funny finagle it.
Speaker: Yeah, I bet there's a way that... All this stuff is... I don't, I just don't do it. I don't trust anything with the name Christian attached to it at this point. I don't really love most charities in general.
Speaker: I do. struggle I struggle to feel confident in don't like if you go to a grocery store they're like, do you want to round up? I'm like to give to this charity. I'm like, oh, do I want to lower your tax burden? I'm good. Like that. I don't trust anything.
Speaker: No, I know. I always round up at Taco Bell. yes that's and I would love to know how many kids I've sent to college just from Crunchwrap orders. rounding I always thought rounding up at Taco Bell provided you a discount on your health care when you got cyclospora. I was going to say it should go to stomach cancer research or something.
Speaker: And you can get an even bigger discount if you open yourself up as a human test subject. If you could get... Not a bad deal. If you could get free Taco Bell for a year, but have to go to an appointment every two weeks as a human test subject for someone who ate as much Taco Bell as you would eat if you got it free for a year, would you do it?
Speaker: Yeah, maybe so. I can see you doing it. I i consider that my ministry.
Speaker: Oh, man, dude. I... yeah Oh, I got it. I got to show you a guy real quick before we before we go too far before we close out the episode. I got to show you a guy that I found today. But so.
Speaker: so ah It says, Mercy Me could clear a profit of $4 million dollars under the original contract. Revenue from ticket merchandise sales supplemented its take. Campbell, according to the lawsuit, expected that 6% of concert goers would become sponsors.
Speaker: Based on on that, Mercy Me would have to perform for 375,000 fans to hit its quota. Oh, they're whores! Representing approximately a year of sold-out concerts. That's crazy, dude. They're they're literally betting. their Oh, my God. That's hilarious. They're actually... This is this feels like telemarketing now. This feels like media just reaching your... right, guys, we have to sell out this many shows for this many months. like that's That's crazy. crazy.
Speaker: I wonder, but that i wish i was correct I wish I knew what Mercy Me's like social media presence and stuff looked like during some of this time period, because it says by March 2020, COVID-19 put the music industry on life support. Despite this, the relationship between Mercy Me and TCA was in good standing, with Mercy Me earning $17 million dollars from its child sponsorship sales, according to the lawsuit.
Speaker: oh TCA was the first broker of its kind connecting Christian music artists with child sponsorship charities. Is that exclusively what they do? That's a business.
Speaker: Oh, we're going to make our money connecting music. Like you do. You're. You're just stealing food from children at that point. You're a bad person. So basically, this guy. No one's passionate about that work. No one woke up and was like, I'm really passionate about being a middleman that connects artists to organizations that peddle monthly donations to save starving children. Like, you're not. Here's the problem with this fucking country. If I want to get real serious real quick.
Speaker: No more political rants. ah not enough I won't stop. You can't make me. Our entire country is built on the, all of our money goes to middlemen. I'm fucking sick of it.
Speaker: Every fucking penny we have goes to these fucking middlemen. all right. I'm done. Not if you don't sponsor children. God, it's a middleman for everything. Zero of my money went to TCA.
Speaker: Yeah, but you know every every every penny you give to insurance, it's just's like, hey, we're we're just a mob. We're just a fucking mafia, a state or government sanctioned mob. and we Oh, wow. We're the middleman. We're connecting you with doctors. You're not connecting anyone with shit. It's the internet era, baby. I can Google a doctor. i don't need you anymore. The way in which like their programs change, too, like unexpectedly.
Speaker: No explanation. And the names they give them? They'll be like April's... april's like birth control that she was uh which she liked and you know would have kept all of a sudden like this year they were like hey we don't cover this anymore you got a switch that's like a monumental switch to make yeah you know oh yeah you can't fox up a lot that's a big change yeah good thing we don't have sex good
Speaker: Don't really throw a wrench in the works. She's like, if you're feeling it, you just stand in the corner and jack off. yeah I still let her finish inside me.
Speaker: Yeah. she You're so romantic. You're romantic. Dude, there's not a lot of like chivalrous men left in the world, but... i The way you just put your calves behind the back of your head and just let her vanish. Yeah. It's beautiful.
Speaker: Pull out my brony tail. I know what I'm putting into my AI search. and I know what I'm generating on AI later, dude You're trying to find the CSAM I made of myself? Yeah, i dude.
Speaker: Just you in a cannonball position. won't turn you in. You're just cannonballing on your own cock. Just knees up to your chesticles, dude. Your preteen chesticles. You think there's a fan fiction out there of like a WWE sort of thing where somebody jumps off the top ropes and inadvertently like lands on the other dude?
Speaker: sure somebody write that mr lindler i got an assignment for you book idea a resident writer he's on it our resident author dude we got dude we got material yeah hit us up in discord man we're ready be middlemen for uh for this uh this fanfic this is You know what? I changed my mind on on the whole middleman thing. If you want to personally hire Casey and I to throw you some real good erotic fan... Not fanfic. ah just Yeah, you get you guys fantasy. Fantasy. that's That's the realm. Erotic fantasy ideas. that We got you covered, baby. Yeah.
Speaker: Two already. and Top rope... ah cherry pop and then the uh know crack breacher yeah says off the ropes newsboys was its most prominent client mercy me was another top tier artist then everything fell apart in the middle of 2025. first the band's representative troy collins resigned from tca Mercy Me, which argues it completed its contract, ended its relationship with TCA in July.
Speaker: The band later signed with liveclo Liveco slash TPR, another face-based promotion company. Can we stop creating companies with the word live in it? I would love that.
Speaker: Yeah. None of them are good. Live Nation, Live Golf. I mean, Live is like Live. There's plenty of others. I heard Live Golf is like kind of going belly up.
Speaker: Live, watch yeah, because the Saudis aren't happy with the fucking Trump regime. Yeah, they got to put their running towards that that stupid line city that they're building or whatever. Yeah.
Speaker: That sounds like a Kushner scheme. dude He forgets how in their pocket is line. That's a city. It's like, who wants to live in a line? i I do think Trump does forget how much he's owned by other people when he's like, I'm so rich. It's like, yeah, you sold out, dude. You sold out your whole family sold out to the Saudis and you made them unhappy. And now your golf tournaments washed. Like, what do you want?
Speaker: He's like, where's the surprise? He acts like it doesn't make any sense. Yeah, is it is funny to listen to him. You know, you think about him like like pitching tweets to Natalie Harp while she's like rubbing a vino on his like old geriatric ankles.
Speaker: She's massaging his diabetes angles. What if we called it Great Wall of America? What about that?
Speaker: it's a re name Great Wallet. Trump and Kushner Israel.
Speaker: Leaning Tower of Donald. Dude, I hate it. i hate I hate that everything you're saying is actually going to happen tomorrow.
Speaker: ah Yeah, okay, so that's that. um Big lawsuits. You know what? Nothing cooler than lawsuits. I love lawsuits. I mean, it's the American dream is to sue somebody. It really is. like i can't think of anything. The best thing that could happen to most of us would be to find like a severed finger in our like ah dude in our chili. Dude, I had this. did i Did I share this story? I had this back massager.
Speaker: One of the ones that has like those like rotating things in it that you put, you lay in your neck on it and it it applies heat. It like heats up. And I used it for too long one night.
Speaker: And the next day, like the back of my neck really hurts. It's super sore. And then my wife's like, you have two giant scabs on the back of your neck. And this thing, the the heat, the heat from like rotating on it and like me pushing into it,
Speaker: it It gave me like a second degree burn on the on the muscles on each side of my spine. And they're like on my neck. And it was, it hurt for days. was like, I should have gone to the doctor and documented And that is the American dream. How else am I supposed to get my bag, dude? And what the best thing could have happened to me. Sharper image game code Give me 250 thou.
Speaker: I'm not trying to like see this thing through. I would take the first offer given when they decided to settle out of court. They'd be like, dude, how's $10,000 to shut the fuck up? I'd be like, make it 20. And they'd be like, suck my dick. And I'd be like I will. And they'd be like, okay, $20,000. And you suck my dick. That's perfect. And we would come to a great agreement. I would do it. My marriage would be rocky for a few months. I'd,
Speaker: I'd get my wife something nice. She'd change her tune. We'd be good. That's the only way to get money now. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure Brookstone has settled all sorts of lawsuits out of court.
Speaker: You know, like you get ah a $250 gift card to the company website and a free like toilet side putting green.
Speaker: I love this country dude this country fucking rocks okay I alright before we close out on it i do really have to pee so yes save it pause it The amount of times this happens to me a lot where I'm like getting my kids to bed and i forget to pee before we come down to record. I'm like, oh, I haven't peed in seven hours or whatever it is. It's like, I'm sorry to disrupt the program.
Speaker: It's fine. I usually have to pee by this point anyways. I'm um just a busy dude. I'm busy dude. Well, you ever just like been surfing the web, you know, and you just stumble across a completely unique ministry?
Speaker: Every day. Yeah. For instance, like, I don't know, a ministry can be so many things, you know, our our our our mission field can look so different. For some people, that's like going to an unreached people group in Papua new gu paa New Guinea. Are we not on the same page that this is a ministry? I'm not sure.
Speaker: i view it as a ministry. I definitely do. so okay, cool. For other people, a ministry may be, I don't know, creating a brokerage where you sell child contracts.
Speaker: Yeah. A lot of options out there. Anything can be a ministry as long as you give a small percentage of it to people nobody else cares about.
Speaker: Well, I found a pretty unique one today on YouTube or the other day. um So he goes by The Webbed Witness. i know is I already am uncomfortable with this Is he a Spider-Man enthusiast? He is! You guessed it! Dude, I'm so good at guessing. You really are. really are. There's one example every week where you totally guess where something's going. We should be keeping a tally.
Speaker: I'm just to have a big machete next to the desk in here, and every time you guess right, I'm just going to chop a notch in my computer. ego doesn't need that, dude. i don't It doesn't. So, yeah, he is a guy that dresses as Spider-Man and shares the gospel.
Speaker: It's pretty powerful. Probably isn't the same guy that dressed as Spider-Man and pumped and punched a neo-Nazi in the face in the back of that truck last week, was it? No, he doesn't probably believe in that kind of violence. Okay, bummer. Just financial violence? He just believes in financial violence? Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: ah So here's his bio. Jesus is the real hero. He who has ears to hear, let him hear Matthew 13, nine. good one. i love how everyone who says that is impervious to reason. Yeah.
Speaker: So my origin no story. No one's quoted that Bible verse and been a reasonable person. They never have been. No, it's a, it's so open-ended. That's what's great about it.
Speaker: That's what's, that's why the Bible is the perfect book. It's the ultimate choose your own adventure. Your Christ focused ammunition bit business, you know, whatever.
Speaker: So it says my origin story. I used to be an atheist trying to expose Christianity, the LDS church and other organized religion. Now I make videos for Jesus.
Speaker: yeah This channel case. It's the case for Christ syndrome. But a powerful testimony, dude. That was Lee Strobel. I set out to write this book. I don't know why I did that Alex Jones voice. um but He's like, I set out to write this book to prove Christianity wrong. And I turned around. I turned. i walked away thinking, oh, my God, I proved everything right. like Get your head out of your own ass, dude. You're not even like, who are you? Dude, he's one good rhyming quip away from being something completely different.
Speaker: Yeah. yeah This channel documents my raw, unfiltered faith journey, failures and all, very brave, to showcase what it's like to actually live out Jesus Christ's teachings, not perfectly, but authentically.
Speaker: I'm not a pastor or a prophet, just a brother in Christ making sometimes silly, sometimes deep videos that hopefully plant seeds of truth. bet this dude's planted seeds in plenty of nefarious places. Yeah.
Speaker: He slung some webs. He shot his web in places it did not belong. Ex-Mormon, ex-atheist, now a follower of Jesus Christ. I believe in relationship over religion. i like that.
Speaker: I missed that one. that's i haven't heard that one since I was 11. That's nice. That sort of rhymes. So he went from being a Mormon to being an atheist to being a born-again Christian.
Speaker: Yes. Excellent. Yeah. he He built his house upon the rock. It all started with me trying to tear down way organized religion in a Spider-Man suit.
Speaker: What followed became the Spider-Manism saga, a series capturing my transformation as it unfolded. I hate, he goes on like the subway and witnesses to people in a Spider-Man costume, doesn't he?
Speaker: I'm sure. I'm sure he does. ah It looks like he has several Spider-Man costumes. Better than an airplane. The subway is the most appropriate place to be a terrible person, I think. Yeah.
Speaker: Like, you... If you act out like that on an airplane, it's unacceptable. If you do it on the subway, it's just another day in New York. It's it's you or boss like you can't get on a subway and not face something completely unreasonable or wish you weren't hearing a conversation that you're hearing.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if I've ever ridden a subway. Are you really? I don't think I have. Maybe the one in D.C. Isn't there a train in D.C.?
Speaker: Yeah, probably. I've ridden the MARTA one in Atlanta, I think, before, but not much. You really need to come to Massachusetts again, and we need to just spend eight hours riding the T. Just a whole day of dude. It would be an enlightening experience.
Speaker: Just i'll take you in the red line, the green line, the silver line, the blue line, the red line, and just ride them from one end to the other. Whole day of it. We can record a podcast while we do it.
Speaker: we yeah you would You have to like, at one point, especially as it gets later in the evening, you do have to like lift your feet up as the train accelerates and breaks to dodge the P stream that goes up and down the T. At one point, you will have that.
Speaker: Okay. Makes sense. I can that. Someone will pee on it. Yeah. Yeah. You're, you're quick on your, you're quick with your feet like that. Yeah. I can deal with disgusting things pretty well. I can, I can compartmentalize some trauma.
Speaker: Yeah. It's impressive for a person who's experienced, you know, so little hardship. Yeah. Little adversity in your life. That's nice. yes i mean, same. I mean,
Speaker: What have we been through? My dog died once. Yeah, just once. right, you want to hear some wind? If your dog died twice, that'd be... Now that would be a powerful testimony. Yeah, that God brought it back, that you laid hands on your dog and God brought your dog back to life.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: healed. The West bank settlers were like beating a bunch of children to death or something. God, i God saw fit to reach down and heal my dog. I just had a conversation ah related to that not too long ago where it was like,
Speaker: One of the people was like, don't like has this belief. And I don't mind this belief. Like i don't, because the person that's coming from is a wonderful person. And so when you, when they say like, it's it's easier for me, like it gives, like it gives things meaning to believe that like there is something like a higher power that God is involved in, in what's going on and this and that. And I, but that was, that's generally my rebuttals. Like,
Speaker: that's it it just, I used to feel that way. i used to align myself with that. And then it's just like, gets to a point where like you watch the news for a few hours and you're like, how am I supposed to, how am I supposed to believe that God pulled through for me and got me that great job when people are truly being brutalized and murdered across the globe? Like it's just, it's hard to, it's hard to reconcile for me now. And I don't mind people having that perspective. I'm not, shitting on it. I think there's plenty of great reasons and legitimate reasons that good people believe in some sort of like higher power that is involved in your life in some way. I don't care. it's That's okay. But I'm just...
Speaker: I can't do it anymore. I think Spider-Man answers your question here. Actually, I think this is a pretty good pot tie. All right. Okay. Keep in mind, he ties in. He ties in clips of the Spider-Man movie. So if something seems weird or out of place, I think there's a couple of credit scenes this in here for a sec. Is this, is this the Redditor that I read a post from a couple of weeks ago that had his critiques about the Spider-Man movie perhaps? Um,
Speaker: I don't know. I'm not sure, but um he clearly has some sort of strange Spider-Man ah obsession. So this one is a short on YouTube. It says, why doesn't God remove all evil?
Speaker: So pay attention. Yeah, you're right. This will answer my question. If God is all good, why doesn't he stop all evil? Cracks his knuckles. He will. Whoa. Roll credits. Okay, but why hasn't he done it yet?
Speaker: He has. Noah's flood. Roll credits. For real though, God will destroy all evil and if it weren't for Jesus, we'd all be destroyed along with that because we have all done evil. In the end, those that haven't put on Christ's righteousness will be cast into the lake of fire. But what people really mean by this question is why did God allow evil in the first place? Because he decided to judge evil after it happened, not before. if you Now, this guy's an idiot I'm pausing for just a second because I the the logic goes in some strange directions here. Yeah, I already have a few problems with it.
Speaker: One thing that I love about Webbed Witness is he creates the most ah brilliant straw man to then. ah you know, throw his sticky webs at and punch in the face. Well, my, my, I, I love, cause I did this too. Like everyone who was as evangelical and outspoken as I was has said similar things, but yeah,
Speaker: equate like i love it's like why doesn't god destroy evil and you're like well we've all done evil things and you go okay can we please stop putting simple regular ass human mistakes under the banner of evil there's a difference there's i i fucked up and and lost my temper and said something i regret and then there's committing a genocide You know, yeah it's a little different, I think.
Speaker: And then they'll quote you that cool verse. It's just like, well, all all sin is evil and equally evil to God. and you're like, then you you actually ah believe that God's stupid because like you you don't think that. You don't think that. And they go well, my ways aren't God's ways. God's ways are higher. God sees things differently. God's so perfect that all evil. It's like...
Speaker: I can't do this. I can't I can't handle these people. it was very funny how you don't need to really think very hard to create like viral Christian content because you're making the same arguments as everybody all the time.
Speaker: always like you're just copying it and re-skinning it but his idea of why we need murder as a point of reference for evil is very strange very good i'm glad we're getting to something interesting just before guess what all of us cease to exist i don't feel so good because god's standard is perfection and we fall short of that every single day but why doesn't he just you know not allow all the really evil things like murders and let the rest stay notice how we keep having to move the goalpost let's say oh we're the ones moving the goalpost because they never happened we'd have no concept of what a murder even is therefore the very question why can't god just not allow murders to happen
Speaker: would become a paradox because they never happened in order for us to even have a concept of that, to even ask that question, which totally dodges that totally dodges the part where people aren't suffering. i've ever Totally dodging the part where people aren't suffering because someone they love was murdered. Oh, how do we know? No, that would be, you're talking about something great. Yeah, it would be great to not know what murder is. It would be great to not know what murder is because it never happened. you're What are you doing?
Speaker: We would be oblivious to the fact that murder is evil if there were no murders because we would have no point of reference for the evil that murder is. Therefore, God has to allow murders to happen so that we know that murder is bad.
Speaker: I'm Spider-Man, by the way. Guess what? It would result in moving the goalpost even further out of i ignorance. Who's moving the goalpost? The goalpost God created?
Speaker: God put this goalpost here. it ah It's like the tree. So then it becomes, why can't God just get rid of stealing? And then why can't God just get rid of lying? The logical conclusion always results in God removing all evil because his standard is perfection. And if he didn't, it would result in us moving the goalpost even further out of ignorance of what evil he never allowed to happen. It never happens. What the fuck is he talking about? basically turn into a paradox because in order to know what that evil is,
Speaker: Dude. There's reason shot this above his waist.
Speaker: there's a reason he shot this video above his waist
Speaker: I've never seen what a fully torqued penis looks like in a Spider-Man suit, but I know if we zoomed out, we'd find out. I love this argument because i think he's forgetting the part where God put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the fucking garden himself.
Speaker: Yeah. It was like, don't eat it. No, dude. This is what are you doing? He the it all started there. If you are his type of biblical literalist, which he clearly is. Oh, my God. I think ah from his argument, I think what we can. can ah One thing that we don't take enough ah enough, you know, comfort in is exactly what he's saying. We really don't know what kind of.
Speaker: Evils God is currently not allowing to happen because they've never. Maybe there's a whole new kind of like human cruelty never before seen because God won't allow it.
Speaker: No, never before seen because it's still ah in the redacted Epstein files. Yeah, God redacted those files so that we wouldn't have a point of reference for how much of a our society is pedophiles. Right. Because if we knew about it, then more people would be pedophiles. So really, God is doing us a solid in allowing Trump to redact the Epstein files illegally. This is such a strange, it's like, is it all Christian content already exists? All of these things, like everything about this, guys, I watched a number of his like shorts and stuff. It is the most like boilerplate entry level, non-denominational evangelicalism in the world.
Speaker: And the type where you throw in something like obscure once in a while to make it seem like you're a scholar. he like He'll say something about like the Nicene Creed or whatever, and it's like, I don't know what that is. I guess this guy must have studied theology. i you know But all of his ideas are just like the entry-level Christianity nonsense. Yeah.
Speaker: i think he's I think where he really put a lot of his effort into his studies is the study of rape logic.
Speaker: Where he's like, no, no, you don't understand. i raped you so that way you could understand how evil the world is and how much you need God.
Speaker: I don't trust this person. No, he, I think he probably puts on the black suit once in a while, you know, he's, yeah he's done some evil shit and he's, he's been more than happy to move the goalposts for God, of course, with God's blessing. So that way other people could understand, like, no, what you're, you're misinterpreting it. Like God allowed my sin to happen. So you would see how good he is.
Speaker: Yes. Yes. It's such a strange way of being like, well, because really what this boils down to, like, if you if you cornered this guy, what he would say is like, well, we have to be able to commit murder because otherwise we wouldn't have free will.
Speaker: It's going to come back to that. it's like of course. if if i couldn't if god didn't allow me to assault a woman then I don't truly have free will. And if I don't truly have free will, I can't fully repent from my sin and love him because I'm not choosing to do it.
Speaker: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. I love the idea that I love the idea that we need the most egregious types of evil in order to have free. Like I have free will and I've never,
Speaker: gone down that dark rabbit hole before. Like I've not, I'm not choosing to do like, we don't, we could get into a fun conversation about what how much free will anyone actually has anyway. But like Christians act like free will is like their thing, like that conversation.
Speaker: But outside of Christianity, it's just called determinism. Like these are actual kind like philosophical concepts that people are, discussing at a like academic level. And so like, no, I'm not out here choosing to hurt people. Like I've, maybe I'm choosing not to hurt them, but it's like you could eliminate if you're coming at it from the perspective of a higher power, like you could have just, you could eliminate some forms of evil and still like not negate an acceptable level of free will. Like I, I don't love the concept of free will because I have the potential because I
Speaker: have the potential to murder. I don't find value in life because I could, because I could take it. Like that's what he's arguing. It's a, it's the, uh, it's the, well, if the Bible's not true and God's not real, then like what keeps me from just raping and murdering all the time?
Speaker: It's like, it's just the same tired nonsense that you've heard from so many people. So nice to hear that. That's your, that that's your inclination outside of, some arbitrary force telling you not to like, you could just not, you could just not want to do that. you Are you telling me that's what you want to but you can thank God for saving you from your rapist desires. Like it's insane. you know what? It's such a bad argument.
Speaker: Nobody makes this point better than, I gathered a lot of my theological beliefs from, uh, like early two thousands cartoon network shows. And okay do you remember cow and chicken?
Speaker: I do. I didn't watch a lot of it. I didn't particularly like it. Well, there was a segment of cow and chicken called IR Baboon, and it was this baboon who was like mentally challenged and his like his rival was this weasel who was super smart and responsible named I am weasel.
Speaker: so and we're really just recreating the Wile E. Coyote versus Roadrunner trope for the 18,000 star. I guess it's a little reductive of you, but yes, I guess you could make those kinds of loose connections between I.R. Baboon and... I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't realize how important this was to you. Okay, I can move past it. Anyways, there is a episode... Forgive the evil that I enacted upon you, and let's be thankful together that there's a God who can reveal to us how good he is because of how I harmed you. There's an episode of I.R. Baboon where this devil character convinces I.R. Baboon that all everybody on Earth has vanished except for him.
Speaker: And in actuality, they're all at like a party that he wasn't invited to. And the devil asked him, like, what have you... the entire book of revelation
Speaker: John on the island of Patmos is just pissed he wasn't invited to a party. That's it. Yeah. There's actually a lot of times. So so the devil says, you know, our baboon, like, what have you always wanted to do that you can do freely now?
Speaker: And he says, I've always wanted to dance naked in popcorn. And then he proceeds to do that, not knowing that everybody was still there and they could see him doing it.
Speaker: And he had to live with the eternal shame of having danced naked in popcorn. This a powerful episode. I can't believe I never heard a youth pastor use this in a sermon. I know. Well, you know, they just go to the same dry well every single time.
Speaker: i didn't know I didn't know Cartoon Network was such a treasure trove of theological propositions. Oh, yeah, dude. We could host a Bible study on Dexter's Laboratory. yeah ah You want to hear what he has to say about whether or not Christians can be asexual?
Speaker: I'm sure I can gather where he's going to go. I'm sure it's leaning towards you can't because the Bible values procreation. But i I'm interested.
Speaker: Let's see. may be surprised. Can Christians be asexual? Ask a question. First off, if you are genuinely asexual, like you don't find people attractive, like you just have no sexual urges, you don't lust after people, you don't watch corn, then congratulations, you get to play the Christian game on easy mode. Like, dang, bro, wish that was me. Apostle Paul is very talented. He looks at so much porn.
Speaker: them if they remain even as i am but if they cannot exercise self-control let them marry for it is better to marry that to burn with passion if a christian is unmarried the goal should be complete celibacy so can you be an asexual christian there are two layers to this question the first layer is can you be a christian that just has no sexual urges and doesn't want to get married Yes, you can. Apostle Paul gave us the thumbs up for that, okay? But the second layer is whether you can place your identity in your sexuality, which is where it becomes idolatry.
Speaker: Because even though asexuality, by definition, means you don't find interest in that, it's the same thing that what people that do find interest in that are doing with their identities and the LGBT. Like, we are more than our sex or lack thereof. That's not what makes us who we are. Who we are is in Christ, and our identity should be in Christ as either a son or daughter of God.
Speaker: Now, keep in mind, this is coming from a grown man in a Spider-Man costume. You shouldn't find your sense of identity in who you want to have sex with. Dude, he was he was almost right for two seconds, and i i I'm bummed at the direction it took.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. Even as an asexual, you can sin and find your identity in your sexuality. That's the problem. Dude, the fact that he's having this conversation shows how much of his identity is wrapped up in his heterosexuality and that he doesn't he can't even understand how badly he's missing the mark.
Speaker: Yeah, in the LGBT, you know. it It is hilarious to be lectured about the pitfalls of, like, plug-and-play identity, you know, ah logic. is Coming up from a guy who's dressed as a... Who has an entire...
Speaker: page where all he does is is dress as a Marvel character, a character from a movie that he likes. And that's why I'm wondering if, given his proclivities towards dressing as Spider-Man and heavily investing in one specific topic, I'm wondering if he thinks LGBT is an acronym for Let's Go Buy Trains.
Speaker: Could be. That's pretty good, dude. Yeah. I'm glad you're throwing your hat in the ring on the pun.
Speaker: I'm just um you picking up your point down. but All right Wrap it up, Spider-Man. That should be the only label that you're putting over yourself that you should identify with. Believe me, I used to collect labels like they were Pokemon, okay? You used to. Back when I was atheist, I actually did think I was asexual for a hot minute because it felt wrong to be. Because no one wanted to fuck me. Okay, Jonathan and David. Okay.
Speaker: thing is i was actually confusing what love and love are real love has nothing to do with your sexuality god demonstrates real unconditional love to us and that's what he did on the cross okay jonathan and david collect these labels put our identities and these labels because we're missing the point about what actually matters jesus it's This is the kind of thing where they wander into these topics and it's like, do you have a girlfriend? Have you ever had like an actual relationship with someone? Like, where is your deep found knowledge on what love is coming from?
Speaker: like The Bible, of course. I read a a young men's ah devotional book you know every day for three months before I aye you know slipped up.
Speaker: God, it's just so dumb. It's just such entry-level... garbage coming from a guy who has completely flipped his identity three times in the span of like two years or whatever it took and we know for a fact he's lying about how i used to think i was asexual we we we know he's lying wait i i your disinterest in women doesn't make you asexual it makes you other things Like maybe there's no one who's like, I mean, I, there probably are some people who are like, maybe I'm asexual because they might be, uh, what's the word I'm looking for?
Speaker: Pansexual, right. Where the, it's like your sexual attraction. I think, I think it's pansexual. It could be wrong, but like, there's a few that are very similar to that concept too. Um,
Speaker: but like the idea being you're only sexually attracted to people that you're emotionally attracted to. Oh, that's a demisexual, demisexual pansexual. I don't, maybe I don't really know the difference between the two super well. Um,
Speaker: But regardless of the appropriate title for it, that's a thing that exists. So there are people who might be like, maybe I'm asexual because all my friends are having these sexual feelings and these sexual urges and I'm not.
Speaker: And then they meet the right person. I don't believe that for this guy. I don't believe for a second that he a went his childhood thinking he was asexual. I think he's making that up so that way he can try to like pander to the LGBT.
Speaker: We'll stop there because to quote him, uh, audience. And, uh, I think it's, I, everything he's doing is pageantry. This is all bullshit. You just have to say the LGBT.
Speaker: That's how you're supposed to say it in this world, you know, or the woke. but The woke is a noun that you can use. But yeah, I, you know, maybe he just hasn't found his Mary Jane yet or his Marty John. Maybe the right fella to kiss him upside down under the mat. In the rain.
Speaker: Dude, how hot was that scene when we were 12 or whatever when that movie came out? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Jesse was like a big Kirsten Dutz fan for a bit. Yeah. Who wasn't? We all were. We all were for that moment in time when all of our access to sexuality was PG-13 movies that our parents allowed us to watch.
Speaker: i I absolutely at one point, I'm sure, I'm sure I paused it on that scene where it's raining and you can see her nipples poking through her shirt.
Speaker: You're like, whoa, whoa. This is the closest I've ever been to seeing a nipple in my life. Not me, dude. I just have too much respect for Kirsten Dunst.
Speaker: Yeah. And women in general. I hear the way you talk about them in private.
Speaker: Real reverence. Let's see how he ties her up. Yeah, ties her up. He calls us to abide in him so that we can produce fruit. He calls us to place our identity. Oh, he made it there eventually. Because bought us at a price, that price being his sacrifice on the cross.
Speaker: We belong to God. We don't belong to our sexual urges or lack thereof. That's not a label or an identifier for who we actually are. We're children of God. That's the only label that matters. i know i'm not wearing the full spider Except for straight pride. i'm tired i don't want to put it on but thanks for watching with great knowledge compar accountabilities fine I love listening to a guy talk about how your identity is in Christ when he's clearly finding his identity and wanting to pretend to be Spider-Man. Yeah. It's so absurd.
Speaker: it's so absurd He man, he has some other I was i was walking around Walmart just like listening to these as I was picking up some stuff and I had to quit because it was just so annoying. Like some of them like there's one where it's like Spider-Man versus atheist ghost rider where he's like arguing with some other dude who's clearly like a halfwit. He's dressed as ghost rider and doing the same grift. but as a as a woke atheist or whatever.
Speaker: and You got tired of listening to this in Walmart and having people just stare at you relentlessly, wondering why you're listening to this out loud? I had headphones in. I'm not insane.
Speaker: But he's like he's like, here's the thing. you know God provides us the standard for what righteousness looks like. Atheists can't define morality because atheists, all of their stuff is based on their feelings. It's all just their feelings. It's not based on on objective truth. And you're like, God, how are people still doing this? Like this sane, tired garbage.
Speaker: Yeah, regardless of that, though, i I do like the image of you walking around Walmart, airdropping into teenagers, riding the bikes around the bicycle aisle. I do think that's fun. Me arguing out loud to a video that nobody can hear while I'm like juggling too many Kool-Aid jammers.
Speaker: while you're carrying while you thought you were going in just to pick up a ah just to grab a quick new pack of tighty whities and you left with like three cases of monster energy drink wondering why you didn't get a shopping cart yeah oh so much rage when i do that like i've got a basket i get the basket instead of the cart and then i realize i don't have paper towels or whatever i didn't know all this was gonna be on sale dang it So yeah, that's the web witness. ah Feel free to check him out on YouTube. There's a lot of wisdom there. And he does like to argue with other grown men in Marvel character costumes and stuff. So ah he argues with Christian Victor Von Doom on one of them.
Speaker: You know, like say, Ghost Rider, just a lot of really cool people. All I'm hearing is we need to get Marvel costumes so that way we can have a great conversation with them on the podcast.
Speaker: Dude, which Marvel character would you dress as to to pitch your like benevolent map persona to? I'd probably go with Wolverine, but that's mostly in anticipation of the Wolverine game coming out on September fifteenth I've seen some videos of it and it does look kind of cool.
Speaker: I'm excited. Not a lot of gameplay video, but ah interestingly enough, I've been playing through Spider-Man 2 again. um i was between games. I was big into Borderlands 4. I know the Reddit community likes to shit all over it.
Speaker: Thoroughly enjoyed. They have some new DLC and a new character coming out on September 10th. I didn't really know what to do. So I i ended up replaying Cyberpunk, put about 100 hours into that, had a great time.
Speaker: And then my foster son was really interested in playing Spider-Man 2. So I redownloaded it, let him play. And it was like, oh, shit, I forgot how fun this game was. Been playing that.
Speaker: And now I'm eagerly awaiting ah the Wolverine game, which is from the same developers as the Spider-Man games, which are fantastic. So if you're looking for some fun single player action, I am giving an unpaid plug.
Speaker: Nice. Yeah, I just watched a video where this guy like went through all the X-Men movies and like ranked them and talked about like the the fall of the franchise and stuff. oh and it fell so hard. After X2, it fell hard.
Speaker: Yeah, that's considered like the pinnacle. That and Logan. Logan's awesome. Oh, Logan is an incredible movie. It's the best adaptation of like a single Marvel character, I think. I think so. the ah The Wolverine origin movie. I forgot how hilariously bad that was. It's so bad that in Deadpool 2, because in wolverine or in the Wolverine origin movie,
Speaker: ryan reynolds plays the deadpool character but yes butchered the deadpool character so bad that in deadpool 2 they play on the alternate timeline thing and in deadpool goes back and shoots deadpool from wolverine origins in the head and kills him yeah because he was like a ah mutant skin graft yeah yeah yes yeah that so thus nullifying the timeline I could get into this. i but I don't think I ever noticed that ah Wolverine Origins, the claws are all CGI.
Speaker: And it's I don't know if I noticed that either. When you haven't seen it, you know that when you look at it, they look terrible. They're huge and monochromatic. So it just looks so fake.
Speaker: It looks like a bunch of silver bananas on his hands. yeah I was such a huge X-Men fan. I always have been. ah I've read a lot of the, I've probably read 20 years worth of comics. I thoroughly enjoy X-Men so much that I was often mistaken for someone who enjoys Marvel in general. And I, I don't not, uh, you know, I, I remember when the first couple Spider-Man movies came out, first few Spider-Man three socked with the Tobey Maguire franchise,
Speaker: ah they have this tendency at that time to ruin the third movie in the franchise. That was like the thing that Marvel was doing or Sony. I think Sony owned him at the time, i you know, watch like, I think I forget what the, the reboot of X-Men was, but it's like there was first class. There was first class and days of future past were pretty good. There was rise of apocalypse. And then they did, they did a couple that I just didn't watch. I got so uninvested and so disappointed. Really bad.
Speaker: Yeah, I heard that Dark Phoenix was the last one i worn really, really bad too, but I didn't it. Yeah, and I didn't watch it. I gave up on... I haven't watched a Marvel movie in over, in probably almost 15 years at this point. Like I can't do it.
Speaker: I don't want to somewhat. Supposedly they're rebooting the X-Men franchise. Um, and my God, I'm really hoping that they don't just give it the Marvel cinematic universe.
Speaker: I think that's CGI overhaul. I think it's so tired at this point. I think they'll go a different direction with it. I want gritty. I want, like That was what's so appealing about the first... like when When X-Men opened, it like I might be remembering the opening scene incorrectly, but early on, it's just the cage fight of Wolverine and some other dude. And you're like, those...
Speaker: the move those movies then felt like actual movies now everything mcu follows the same exact like pattern of just heavy intense action like overly using cgi like the cgi action fig she scenes like the characters look like they're like rubber dummies like it's just flips and flops and it's so visually messy and Like I watched that new, I watched most of that new Superman movie on a plane a while back.
Speaker: And it's like, I hate visual tinnitus is what it's like. I mean, it's just noise for your eyes. It i have hurt me. I have heard that the Spider-Man movies have been good.
Speaker: Um, I, I, I, My daughter has been interested in watching them. ah So that'll be fun for me to like, I'll watch all the Spider-Man movies. That'll be, I'm, I'm interested in checking those out. The Tom Holland and the, ah who's the other kid that did Spider-Man after Tobey Maguire. James Gar, Garfield. Yeah. Yeah. So I'll, I'll watch those. Yeah.
Speaker: Oh, do they? Yeah. The new ones are funmer the new ones are fine with. ah Yeah. What's his face? Yeah. Garfield or whatever. Garfield's his movies stink. The one the one with ah with Jerry.
Speaker: ah Oh, God. The guy who played Ray Charles. What? Who I thinking of? Mm. Jamie. Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx. The one with Jamie Foxx in it is so bad. It's hilarious.
Speaker: But yeah, anyway, we don't have to keep going down this rabbit hole. i'm over I can't do Marvel MCU. It's not interesting to me. X-Men and X2 were like actually legit films that didn't follow like that MCU formula. Like it wasn't bubbly. It wasn't bright. It was dark and gritty. it was beautiful. I loved it. I love X-Men.
Speaker: I love X2. I want them to go back to that shit. i Go back to the roots. Stop. Yeah. and And fans never like that shit. The fans don't really, like, everyone, they it's a cash cow. People will go, it's guaranteed money.
Speaker: It's guaranteed money, but it's like, God, a little fan service, please. Anyway, let's close out. We've been going on. We don't need to start a whole new topic. All right, folks. Well, thank you for listening.
Speaker: We'll see you next time.
