Episode 4: Creedence Clearwater Revival

'Fortunate Fans'

In 1967, a band who had been performing for over a decade together, changed their style, attitude and main songwriter and went on to become one of the most important bands to emerge from 60s USA. Fresh from having performed their own gig, Laz & Felipe discuss the band dynamics, the songwriting, the style, the heartbreak & misery and the legacy of John Fogerty’s troupe.

Creedence Clearwater Revival emerged from the ashes of The Blue Velvets/The Golliwogs and took the Rock ‘N’ Roll world by storm. Despite only being together for 5 years, the band (with their plethora of popular singles) pioneered Swamp Rock, re-energised the Roots Rock movement and would go on to influence many Country/Blues Rock groups to follow. Despite the disappointing way the band ended, their legacy and music will forever remain essential to Rock ‘N’ Roll.
