Speaker: Recording now. Oh, sorry, I don't have my recording up yet. See you.
Speaker: Hello! We're back here for Top Top Cast. Hi, Amanda. How are you doing? Hi, Martijn. I'm doing quite well.
Speaker: um I was just in your neighborhood yesterday. Yeah, and did you say come by to say hi? I didn't come. no i i didn't I did let you know that I was in the neighborhood. Yeah. that you So you were just teasing me. that Yeah, I was. I was. I thought about sending you gifts, you know, just from Rotterdam to see if you would even notice because you never notice where my gifts are coming from. But then I thought doing that without even letting you know could be even worse. If you did happen to notice.
Speaker: Next regional that we're both going to be at I'm just gonna be like at the stage the whole time like in front of the stage holds I'm not saying hi to you either, but I'll let you know that I'm there Okay fair, fair enough. I'll remember that.
Speaker: Mm. was a nice protein shake. All right, we have a lot of regionals. What's in your protein shake, bruh? It's cookie and cream flavor. It has milk and... so but Protein. Cool.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: All right, Amanda, we have a lot of regions to talk about. For sure, for sure. I mean, we we ended up not really having... the ah podcast a couple weeks ago because of course we were both coming back from frankfurt But yeah, we can definitely go over that as well as Brisbane, which was the same weekend as Frankfurt, a little bit smaller of a one. So it was concluded before. And also the one that was just this past weekend in Recife, Brazil.
Speaker: That's three of them. That's crazy. How did you experience? Frankfurt is obviously new season. What you think? Man, I mean...
Speaker: I would say that this season's already going pretty good for EU, don't you think? We had ZZ winning the the first event of the season in Baltimore, and then Emi Wedel doing a really, really fantastic job right off of a great Worlds performance. so Yes. but emmy widow winning that regional championship does mean a spot is wasted as well because he already was qualified because top four from a world championships or ic is qualifying
Speaker: for the next World Championships. So. Yeah, we got one, but we also lost one. We got one, but we lost one. We did no one a favor, honestly. Well, he did he did say in the interview that he's ah he's going to go to some of the North America regionals in hopes to steal some more spots as well. So if you're an NA listener, get ready for some more competition as the Europeans are looking to compete a bit more overseas, it seems like. Or maybe try to...
Speaker: test your mettle Over here we got Nice coming up as well as Stuttgart in December. And Gdańsk in the November. Oh yeah, and Gdańsk in November, yeah. Don't forget about that one. No.
Speaker: Well, I mean, a full disclosure, I mean, if people are listening to the podcast and they they got to know, i ah I'm... not going to be casting Gdansk. I'm not going to be competing in Gdansk, but I am going to be there because I am going to be helping out with graphics, doing some behind the scenes production work. So I'm really excited about that.
Speaker: Really? Yeah. interesting so so maybe you can put an extra graphic of me then yeah yeah it's just gonna be i'm actually gonna like take your head and superimpose it over everyone else's head yes all of the games yes i think that everyone will
Speaker: I love this, especially the people who don't know me at all. That's the words we're looking for, appreciated. Everyone will, for sure. wait Wait, you know how Looney Tunes always ended, those cartoons? Can you do something like that? You see at the end, like ah like ah the the circle, and then you see my face on there. And that's all for it, folks! And then you're going to peek back through.
Speaker: Yes, exactly. That'd be great. Well I know how I'm ending this podcast. Okay, so I guess I can tell you I'll be at Gdansk and not see you there. Okay. Okay. sure Yeah, fair, fair. That'll be the next one for sure.
Speaker: my revenge. So what were you doing while I wasn't? ah saying hello to you all in Rotterdam. Have you had a busy couple or busy week since I've last seen you?
Speaker: I went to... a european space agency location yesterday a space expo okay in nordwijk uh because yesterday the space Week started. Bocon go.
Speaker: Which, honestly... Is it just nothing? It's just Pikachu in tier one rates. yeah but if you're at the location very cool astronaut Pikachu. yes with the potential to be shiny which i know is like the big uh the big appeal of course so exactly it's not nothing the real real big appeal is with the backgrounds yeah you only get these at the expo
Speaker: um or other locations obviously there's one in the netherlands but there's more in like i think belgium but you hardly are there anyway yeah yeah i don't even know that you didn't know there you go it's like a two and a half hour drive from me i guess okay yeah um Yeah, there's this multiple of them. There's like spawns. They would not like a lot um at Were you? You were not at Chicago. It it was... um It's basically... We had like four stops together, four gyms. It's like ah like a...
Speaker: Imagine having three times the amount of gyms and Pokestops that we have at the European regionals. It was kind of that, very clutch together. Some spawns... but not that many and um I think it was kind of... unique to it that you get backgrounds with it for pokemon wise much I did find it...
Speaker: too interesting but but something is getting me amanda about these these unique location backgrounds. You know, um I really hold... these rayquaza mewtwo and dugong with san francisco backgrounds pretty tight to me even though i'm i'm not that big of a fan of those backgrounds specifically But but they're unique. It's like a a one dugong you'll ever get. I want to max out this dugong. It's 12, 13, 12. I'm going to max it out one day. Yeah. On the flip side, I...
Speaker: I put my Mewtwo from San Francisco, the one that we had at the the big ah raid and from the Chase Arena. Yeah, yeah. In my... Remote trade tag because I was thinking and I didn't realize it into more recently is they can't see your naming conventions of your pokemon which is kind of annoying because i have i have a couple things in there that i recently listed as mirror But then I'm like, OK, no one can see that I've named these mirrors. So then, of course, I was trying to do a remote.
Speaker: lucky trade with someone. And that was all they asked for, but they didn't have one in return. And that's not what I asked for. And even though it would have been something. cool also i really debated about it but i was like no it's shiny and i really Only thing I want to trade that for is someone else who is in San Francisco who also caught a shiny uh with the background so you have a shiny i would have mirrors but yeah but you don't have it Suck it. So yeah.
Speaker: If anyone has the shiny Mewtwo with the San Francisco Bridge background, I will mirror it. And I'll do a regular one if anyone hears that as well. Mine is trash. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: Oh. Just like its owner. Anyway, Brisbane. ah Yes, the first regional championship in Australia. uh remind me how many are there again in australia this this season i don't know if they've all been announced i believe it was four right let me check oceania yeah we still have sydney auckland and melbourne coming up as well so this was the first of of four regionals in Australia. Yeah.
Speaker: Auckland also, yeah. new zealand but the oceania region sorry yeah that's that's what i mean thank you because otherwise those trains are like you know it doesn't know us at all uh luckily amanda does what one of us one of us got you i got you kiwis um how many competitors was it again it i believe it was about 47 i'm looking it up real quick um Yes, 47. And there were some notable names. One of them, Rise to Occasion, was there. True.
Speaker: and uh i knew that he was he was gonna bring like a shadow kindred he was showing me teams he matched me this morning oh no i didn't get a shadow wimp all that grind all morning he's been a very active in the game lately and obviously we know rice as content creator caster blah blah blah but most notably he is the only player who has won a regional championship every season So he was going to be there. And I think everyone who knew was like, okay, well, Oceania is free. He's going to clap this.
Speaker: easily. He did not do that, actually. He went 2 -2. in oceania and i i don't i don't want to talk too much about it because i don't think rice enjoys the spotlight of him losing but but it is no notable news yeah of of course because He was obviously one of the favorites to be able to win it all, just because he does have a lot of accolades behind his name. he By the end of last season, the the later half of his season didn't go so well, but the very beginning, he did well enough that...
Speaker: even casting LAIC. he got enough points near the beginning of the the season to be able to be like top three in North America championship points for the leaderboard. So that's. ah Having said that, yes, you kind of go into it and you think.
Speaker: Probably someone who is going to win this all, but... He was in the top nine, I believe. So not even like the the overall top placement. I remember with a 2 -2, right? so yeah Yeah. It was a pretty small tournament, generally a 2 -2. two you'd say okay well it's not negative
Speaker: But yeah, I guess in in in the smaller tournaments, it's actually... it' pretty okay you get championship points so i guess you have to go for him I think one of the scarier things for... Oceania lately has been all these Japanese players coming in and getting all their medals.
Speaker: They didn't do that this time. It was... There was no poke moneymaker. I was one I believe one regional championship, maybe two at least he got second in one. I remember It was been an absolute menace, right? So And I believe there was... the byte gst or ggst i think that was his name the byte gst or ggst i think that was his name who also won one in... Australia. So. Those have been pretty scary for the region, but...
Speaker: I think a lot of our Australian players were very excited to see who actually managed to win it all. In fact, the whole top three. was all australian yep Top four even, I think, right? You are right. Avrip, number four. Yes, ah number three. Z Torp.
Speaker: And number two, Geometry. number one is uh is a veteran rick flarian and and i think this this is this huge for Australia. Let me tell you why. uh rick flarian since the start has been one of the best in australia and One of the content is you think, okay, he's someone who can maybe take it far at Worlds, right? Started off in 2022, Melbourne won it, got to top 16 at Worlds. After that, OCIC. rip but at the time you got the top eight uh more medals medals medals
Speaker: and top 16 at Worlds again in Japan. but And then... In 2024, you want one more regional? Great. ever since he's not been great. mm -hmm He's got a couple more medals in the top four. uh which in you know vgc and tcg are not even medals by the way and at that point you know when you've not been doing that well in so many tournaments repeatedly You might doubt yourself, right? And I think that's why it's a huge moment for Ric Flair in an Australian PvP that he's finally getting her grip again.
Speaker: on on uh on the Championship Series. yeah i mean also he was you You ranked him the lowest possible you could on a... That was a blind ranking, Amanda! You set me up!
Speaker: I thought it was very funny that the fact that he was at the very, you know, very personal. And then of course, yeah, he was just like, all right, fine. Let me show you who's the bottom of this top 10 list. Martin goes to the very next regional that he enters.
Speaker: I should have put his accent at 10.
Speaker: No, but I mean, I just I think that also shows the the caliber of players that they are having. In Australia as well, I know that... Kind of to your point, because. The regional competitions are smaller.
Speaker: A lot of people think that it's a little bit easier to go. And maybe you can win or get points. there but i mean nighttime clasher i think too last season when he was leading the leaderboards went and played in Australia and also didn't even crack the top.
Speaker: positions either so definitely the aussies new zealand players they're coming to play and there was a couple trainers from the japanese region and also i think one person from south korea um But yeah, I mean, overall.
Speaker: It's cool that they went to the performances, but I none of them did well enough to really break the the surface so i think that For the Australians, they've got to be incredibly happy with their performance there.
Speaker: Yeah, I mean, smaller doesn't mean... ah i Will say personally if if if I look at the trainers that you have there, I would say that the Australian uh region is quote unquote, easier compared to region. Let's say you have you have one Ric Flair in here, Amanda. But if you have Birmingham, it's going to have like 180 people, maybe. You have three or four Ric Flairians, right? You're going to have someone like Pato Man.
Speaker: if If I may be cocky enough to name myself, I i might be competing there. You have Emmy Weedle, you know, pretty good player too, I think. uh you have those kind of players that's multiple or of the level
Speaker: or ah above or below whatever i feel like a lot of players are near the same skill ceiling regardless it's near that skill ceiling that rick flaring has as well right so uh Is it a guaranteed win? No, you still have to beat Ric Flarian. You just have to beat less of him. yeah Yes. Less of them. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: right so so that's why i don't think it's it's a given that you you go to an australian regional and and obviously there's also going to be your average trainer with a car being victory bell core right that that you might come across that as well just i hit a wall that just happens too So that that is what I would say about it. And yeah, you know, now that I looked at the bracket, there was also a player called Chu... Japanese trainer, really freaking good.
Speaker: Went 2 -2. So yes, it's it's definitely not a given. Like he lost to Joshi Joshi. And with all due respect, no idea who Joshi Joshi is. But clearly good enough to be a very good Japanese player, right? So yeah it's it's definitely not guaranteed. I would say it's it's a little bit easier.
Speaker: and what's also very cool is that also a big thank you to pvp steve is like oh absolutely there's never like official streams in the region but uh they do the best they can to make like a pretty official looking stream that's completely grassroots you know funded by themselves and to be able to at least
Speaker: get a chance to see some of the games on stream and ill also get to know the players a little bit more is is a really cool experience because a lot of times we're really coming into a lot of those ones blind this season we're getting official streams in the latin america region it wasn't for the first one but they said from then on i think there's going to be official streams starting so Yeah, there's definitely different areas to check out.
Speaker: The... PVP players for Pokemon Go. honestly even if pvp steve did it from a card box i i the amount of trouble this man went to give us a stream.
Speaker: um i do think it's mainly because he also wants to show his casting he loves doing this yeah yeah but the The amount of effort he went through, like, I don't think... And and I don't suck up very quickly, Amanda. I really don't. But I will suck up. Just to beef with Steve.
Speaker: the the amount of effort he went through for what For what profit, Amanda? I don't think he makes profit on it. I i don't know. like like I literally don't know. But I don't think that a community... a community stream.
Speaker: like this, makes profits, he just does the effort for the community and so he can cast and give other Australian... people who are interested in casting, and an opportunity.
Speaker: Yeah, it's a really cool opportunity, indeed, because yeah as I talked with Dr. Trotter. Last season, and you know just giving some not tips. but a little bit too, you know, like hearing some other people cast and be like, okay, take these sort of things into consideration because yeah, I mean, we've done it often enough now and we kind of.
Speaker: have tpci telling us oh they like it when you say charge attacks instead of charge moves or things, you know, like things that the community might not really consider right away, especially if you're a streamer or, you know, things like that. Make sure to not shorten Pokemon names to. Yeah. A nine or whatever. So.
Speaker: ah Just like little things I don't think you would ever take into consideration if you weren't actually trying to. you know. make a cast for a brighter audience than typical PVP people. That's something hard to say. Typical group. pvpepp I mean, that's that's pretty rough regardless, though, because of the region differences and distances. But yeah, I mean...
Speaker: One can dream, Amanda. And we saw pp stay steve a dream him came true when he yeah was selected for NASC. Yeah, true, true. You know, maybe there's a chance. I could see Debbie. uh do one of those uh one day for sure um Zooming in a little bit more on the actual tournament itself. Now, I didn't get to watch a lot of it because I was... with you at Frankfurt. ignoring me the whole time Yes, that's my favorite thing to do. especially on stream.
Speaker: Um, But I watched a little bit back of it the finals and I look at the teams and Amanda I feel like Um... how do i say this i don't want to credit eu for this in fact i i dislike EU for this. But there the meta in Brisbane is just so different.
Speaker: i don't know if it's ahead or behind i feel like it's behind Um, If you look at the grand finals of Ric Flair in between... ah between Recline and Geometry. they have They each have... Oh.
Speaker: One. Answer. to Araquanese. Hmm. Actually, Rick Flanagan's two. Rick Flanagan's a little bit more prepared with Fearow and Jellicent. But you look at Jammethi. He has a Clodsire, a Florges, a Shadow Quagsire, a Melmetal, and a Thievul. Those are five Pokemon. that araquini I wouldn't say eat them all up, but definitely gobble four ah three of those down. You have Galarian Corsair as a counter, but...
Speaker: um as you know i am galarian corso's biggest hater everyone has like a dark type or a sable eye i mean say they're also dark type but obviously you get the point of it being uh dark. uh account to be learning course along it's actually crazy to me that we have like 75 usage of iraq when it's in frankfurt on day two you have none In Brisbane. Zero.
Speaker: the The main contenders, I think, were roughly the same. Like, of course, there was like Claude Sire was the most popular ground type. Mel Metal. Because this is the definitely the season of Melmetal. And then there was one other one that, oh, yeah, Florges. Florges is also. Actually. Very popular.
Speaker: was not in the top 12 in Frankfurt. It wasn't. Which is also my moment. But that's that's more because EU is just a bunch of people who want to be interesting with their cool Pokemon. yeah I feel like Glotzai should always be meta. Are you sure Glotzai wasn't on the...
Speaker: Wait, it's not a risk receiver either. Oh my goodness. No, it's just Brisbane. See, I feel like the Australian meta was behind. yeah must start solid but To be fair, it was the same weekend as Frankfurt, but it started a little bit earlier because Australia is a bit ahead.
Speaker: And... Yeah, I mean, by the time that that weekend was done, I think the people in Recife and also coming up for Louisville and Nice will... They will start shifting a little bit more.
Speaker: uh and it'll be interesting to see how this meta continues to go because keep in mind there's only been I say only the season just started and we have had four already, but ah each. of the metas have been pretty different.
Speaker: Yeah. that's That's just something that really stood out to me. uh rick flaring run shadow alolanites with chilling water not the dazzling gleam and that just kind of attests even more that no one was thinking of a rockwind there um seven out of eight of the top eight players were all australian there was one japanese so even more domination in home fields. The the the Japanese had a Toxapex and Sapir, by the way. I don't know what they were cooking.
Speaker: They were also something there. And I guess the other teams were just very, very much hard meta. Cloth Cyrus, Sableye, Florges, Quack Cyrus, Thievul, Melmetal is like 50%.
Speaker: maybe 70 of the Pokemon on this top eight uh teams so if you like Brisbane maybe took a little bit safer i don't know if they if i want to call it behind but the metal is just way more predictable and i feel like maybe that could be something that rick fairing really used to his advantage there were just not a lot of sableye at all there were two save line the top
Speaker: Is it two or three? Three stable out of the top eight. And he had a Fearow. And I think Fearow is a pretty cool Pokemon that has a lot of coverage. It can bait out Melmetal. So your Alolan Ninetales is free. You have Stunfisk. Klotz are jealous to keep Melmetal away. I really think...
Speaker: rick flair had ah and ah a thought behind a unique team while the others were mostly like I think... This is HeartMeta. press, hard meta press, hard meta press.
Speaker: And look, there's nothing wrong with that, okay? Especially if you have no idea what to play. You play hard meta, you'll you'll be fine. But it's something really standing out in in this first regional championship in in australia and and i'm just kind of Curious how that's going to develop through... to The next one's in January, so it's going to be a while in the next meta. Now, speaking of this current meta, you actually haven't performed in it yet.
Speaker: I mean, because you casted the very first one for europe which we can talk about next frankfurt but last season you won frankfurt because you played it And. It's kind of funny to think that four regional competitions have gone by and you haven't competed in any of them yet. But what is your overall feeling of...
Speaker: the meta so far. Are you liking? This one, are you thinking that it's going to be something that plays to your advantage? Are you upset that you can't play Giratina as well? Because they are going to be stable. Yes, always. we were First off...
Speaker: i I cannot express enough how annoying I find it that everyone expected me at Baltimore. You have no idea how many messages I actually got. Oh, you're not at Baltimore? No, I'm not at Baltimore. It's in North America. It's going to cost me 1K to fly back and forth. No, you live in Boston. You live in Boston. It's a quick flight.
Speaker: I think yes. Okay, Amanda. Thank you. No, I was not gonna fly to Baltimore. Uh... that that i was You know what? I made a a deal with with Zizi. Last year, I asked him, please do not attend Stuttgart. I need less competition. and He told me, yes, it's essential that you win that. I always hold held on to the essential part, and now it was essential that I wasn't going to Baltimore so he could win it. so Well, there you go. I'm glad it worked out for you guys. Yep, that's that's exactly...
Speaker: How does script wins? When I think of the meta... Yeah, I don't know. it's It's hard to say. I kind of like some things. I don't like an Hydreigon meta because it's just extremely oppressive. I don't really like a Shadow Sableye meta.
Speaker: um because it's
Speaker: i' i'm I'm not gonna say I complain too much about it being too safe. I feel like it's just too easy to force and i don't like that like you can just swap in a save light and the best answer right now that people have is floor just because you all bullied away waiting tough you're all complaining and now you can't deal with save light anymore well congratulations you go you achieved absolutely freaking nothing you're still not hitting legends it i don't get it i really don't get it it was not that bad but now you you have like high dragon and and sableye that you can almost throw in all ways
Speaker: And the opponent's not going to do anything about it. Yeah. I mean, the fact that Florges is such a popular Pokemon and everyone is still bringing in a Shadow Sableye and Shadow Hydreigon. Yeah. But Sableye can flip it. And Fly does like 60%. Oh, I know. I know. We saw a lot of it in Europe. Yeah. and
Speaker: you know right you draw in the fairies and then people gonna bring male metal again and you get this rps triangle that i just that i don't like that thing but what i do like is the brisbane regional uh meta and not to go back into it again But...
Speaker: Klotzai meta! Azuro meta. Those are great, Amanda. Not because I hate Azuma. Okay, very boring Pokemon. It doesn't matter. But it' it's... It's, um...
Speaker: It's a Pokemon that doesn't lock down anything. It has a great typing. Claude Sayre, great book as well. Excellent moveset for both of them, although... Bubble sucks and Azumarill is the only one who can make good use of it because of the stats. But it's the trade -off, right? I mean, I like Pokemon that have that specific trade -off. Like Azumarill has heavy -hitting charge attacks, can tank a lot, but it paces quite slow. Yeah, Bubble is not that great of an attack. Yeah. You never...
Speaker: hard i don't know you're never hard winning with a zoomer exactly you're not locking down all the fun yep and that's what a pokemon like sableye or our dragon does you have something that loses to so lose the lead to sableye or high dragon okay well swap into something and take a brutal swing or foul play you have to shoot because it does like 60 to almost everything You're not going to do anything. Swapping your floor just, here's a Melmetal. GGs. I don't like that. You know, I don't like it.
Speaker: When... It's hard to play around some picks that are so dominating. And something like Clothside and Zoomer are just not that. They're bulky. They are dominant, but they're slow. So your fun picks can actually do something. It it reminds me of like Shadow Drapion that just...
Speaker: killed everything that was a little bit fragile in in five poisons thing in a crunch how is that fun it has one weakness in in grounds what a terrible idea to make that matter I did like the Shadow Drop fan meta. I mean, I did well in it with a freaking polka. but it doesn't change my opinion.
Speaker: Alright. So let's, ah I mean, you talked about Shadow Hydra again. We didn't see very much of that in Brisbane, but we saw it. everywhere in Frankfurt. which was kind of a big surprise because something that is definitely not whatever I would ever consider a meta Pokemon became meta. for the first European regional competition of this 2027 season. What was it like?
Speaker: Six of them were in the tournament total. And yeah four of them made it to day two, which is an insane ah probability yeah there. I mean, like what were they? They hadn't been like planning together for the most part. I think a lot of them were. And the fact that the.
Speaker: it was able to do that many is is kind of crazy it became like the top six used pokemon of day two um Yes, it was. However, I will say that out of those four that made it to day two, only one of them made it to top ah eight, actually.
Speaker: So. Was it successful on day one? Absolutely. i wouldn't say it was successful on day two but it was definitely very impressive in whatever games was and whatever game was used we saw the mega junk code do very well with it I found that, the obviously, we talked about I talked about Araquanids.
Speaker: Right. very safe Pokemon to use. I feel like in in EU maybe a little bit less safe because there was morga and corla more more Dunsparce. I was using that for Cramorant.
Speaker: flying type pokemon in general way less mel metal that is supposed to target Um... But I think the Pokemon that stood out the most to me was Empoleon. Okay. They were Empoleon again. And I feel like people drop that for a bit because of Melmetal exactly, right? Thunder Shox plus Dynamic Punch just knock you out.
Speaker: But the coverage is so good, Amanda. And I feel like whoever used Empoleon is really... on the same line with me. They hate floor -jizz. You just want to block that off and then throw a Hydro Cannon or two into Sableye. You have play into the freaking Hydreigon. You still lose the twos, but... you know at least you don't die immediately um You walled a spider. It was such a good pick from Paterman had it, Boom had it.
Speaker: I believe there were a couple more that were not on top eight, but there were more Empoleon that had really impressed me. Yeah, Kelphia had it. Yeah. And I'm just looking and Keeley boy, but he was a top. Yeah, 15 or whatever, seven tops.
Speaker: I mean, yeah haven't quite a few that were. Still doing quite well. Yeah, it just reminds you like like a dragon steel core and this was just a cooler variant than than atari i think it's all who cares atari and melmetal no we want empoleon The emperor penguin. It's such a...
Speaker: Such a cool pick, you know. Ever since the emperors are abandoned, that other people are now picking up the penguin, and hoping to... Have it find a new home. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Yeah. What are you trying to say, pal? No, just saying. are you Actually, I don't know. yeah um for You're doing factions, I assume, right? The Battle Frontier? Are you playing not for Sharks? Are you playing for Sharks this season? okay yes Because you were playing for Wasted Potential last season.
Speaker: i did i did um And now I play for Sharks. And I went 3 -0 in my first week in a cauldron cup. I don't know how I pronounce that. Well, my my English is sometimes so -so. No cauldron. Yeah, yeah. It's like a... Yeah.
Speaker: It's like what witches use to make their bruise. Yes, exactly. I play RuneScape, so I know that. so ah what to Let's briefly talk about that, too, because... RuneScape?
Speaker: ah No, no not definitely not RuneScape. What the hell? What were you running? for it Do you run like meta things or are you? i mean yeah first week it's always kind of hard to figure out what's meta anyway but I play Giardina. Oh, jeez. I played Ursa Luna, Greedent, Shadow Alolan Muck, Giratina, Seeking, and Genesect. extremely hard meta very weak to opposing gear tina but um even funnier my opponents
Speaker: had proper counts to guillotine okay they had a greninja which is so so it doesn't heartbeat it's iron dragon as well they have a drapion pretty decent they have a greed it's pretty cool a galarian wheezing most of all and they ran that galarian wheezing And I just found this insulting, Amanda.
Speaker: They ran the Scalern Weezing against me. The guillotine guy. Wits. sludge and overheat. yeah So... And then they they had a Shadow Blaziken. They ran this with Blaze Kick and Aura Sphere. No Brave Birds. So they couldn't hit my Giratina. You run weak to Giratina! Against me?
Speaker: I guess maybe they were thinking that they had enough kind of counters with everything else, you know? They did not. They most certainly did not. But guess what? They didn't. In fact... When I let my guillotine into glaring wheezing, I was like, bro, what are you going to do, bro? You going to throw slouches? I just built 200 NG.
Speaker: swapping a little muck or something what are you gonna do he just They just, yeah, they were... The first game was close, but the second and third not even. We were out. We were very close, but unfortunately, in the end, we lost 10 -11 to Snovertappers. Oh, really? Is that the highest tier in Europe? that you're Yep, yep, yep.
Speaker: Wow, that's embarrassing. But yeah, I mean, King OWT coming off of a really great also world's run, a pretty good run in Frankfurt. Dude, he's so good. on his t he Man, that kid is cracked, I tell you what. he and There wasn't any coming back at that point where like, okay, well, nothing we can do at this point is going to seal the deal. They've already hit the 11 points.
Speaker: Yeah, snowboard tappers can be pretty good. We used to meme a lot back in the day. but Yeah, they were like the original, like kind of at least in Europe, the meme team. You know, they were always like. kind of causing trouble with other people.
Speaker: but like publicly, you know, they would, they would like tweet at them or send some little thing. Uh, and then, uh, and I think like,
Speaker: your old team wasted they ah they also they're troublemakers but it's more behind the scenes like they they i think if you're in their group they'll talk a lot of smack to you and it's very fun but they're not going out of their way in like a public scenario too yeah they uh they joined in on the fun yeah it was always when eu emperors was playing snow dappers always at the end we were making memes about each other uh but you know speaking of king of wt i just want to point out what i also said on the stream right like adelian said a couple years ago
Speaker: ah Yeah, this guy's really impressive. We should put him on Play to Watch. And we were all like, well, we don't really know him. yeah ah Impress us first. He did not impress Amanda. And now he's like, what, top five here, top five worlds, top five the previous one, which is kind of a curse on its own. Like, he's every time he's one win from a re from a medal. or uh or a trophy it's like with snork as well right there's one win away like so many times you start to feel bad and that was the
Speaker: I don't think we we we acknowledge KingOWT as the... for the player he is right now. Because he's never on players to watch. He's never really on a lot of predictions. But but the guy is cracked. He's actually beating a lot of big names. I'm also impressed, like, because he's also, like...
Speaker: Relatively.
Speaker: Calm at it. You can tell that he there's a lot going on when he's thinking about the games, but... He just seems very in control for almost the whole time that he was playing. And of course, like I was talking with him in the interview and I was highlighting outside of the grand finals that he was the European that made it the farthest in the world. And he has this smart ass UK. Actually, I don't think that's true. Emmy Weedle. I'm like, yeah, yeah. OK, shut up. I think I did that too. yeah i mean I don't know remember if it was to you but originic or or But I mean, yeah, I mean, it's like obviously everyone knows that Emmy Weedle would do so well because it was the championship Sunday. It was. quite a big thing overall. I was highlighting outside of
Speaker: our Frankfort regional champion. second ever regional championship for him, both of them in Germany. i think yeah But yeah. He's going for a double gauntlet run, as I was going to call it.
Speaker: Adore stuff. You have to win multiple, you know. So now he's won two regionals. He's won an IC. It's one world, so he's... a He's got to win another IC, and potentially this 3v3 world's coming up.
Speaker: Okay, okay. Yeah, I know he's going to LASC, so... Tell me something. Um, Three more trainers to briefly go that I briefly want to go through over I mean we talked a little bit about I mean we don't but the way of Shadow Earth's Luna
Speaker: Man, what a pick. wicked pick boom also wanted it but he doesn't play the game uh play the game i guess y 'all are bragging about not playing the game There you go. Get punished. You could have won the tournament, bro. If you just stop bragging about not playing and go do your rocket. There's a rocket event right now. stop Stop doing that. Just play the game.
Speaker: Get in the crossbow. It's not that hard. You do one rate! That's actually a very, very good point. um Right now, there's an event going on in Pokemon Go. You can also TM away frustration from your shadow Pokemon, which is ideally the most important thing of what's going on right now. Actually, that event ends today. this On a Monday. Sucks to be you guys if you're listening to it when this podcast actually comes out. I bet Boom missed it anyway! yeah
Speaker: He doesn't play the game. Start playing, bro. You can win more regionals. He's in school and I would rather have him. focus on his stuff. Actually, no, he's on my draft. I would rather have him stop studying. i just wanted take as As if studying takes more time than a full -time job. yeah yeah you know you You can play a little bit next to it and have free weekends. stick that That's not an excuse. I'm not buying it.
Speaker: um i want say Yeah. boom uh the trainer from belgium obviously he still has his accolades that he has top cut every regional that he has competed in.
Speaker: so And now imagine he has all the Pokemon he actually needs. Like, how much would he have won? Straight up won another one, yeah. exactly Would have won every one of them, maybe. Would have won worlds. Yeah, it could have been you, boo. But you don't play. You're bragging about not playing. That's what you get.
Speaker: I'm not feeling sorry. but Who I am feeling sorry for? Tunanta. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. What a freaking run from this guy. He's been always beating me in the latest practice stories. And I'm like...
Speaker: Okay, you know what? It's okay. you Everyone has like this one person, I guess I have two now, Tunanta and TonTon, that you just don't beat. Okay, that's fine. I beat i beat everyone else. Fine. I can live with that.
Speaker: And then this guy gets so far. I'm actually like... proud of losing to him where i'm like okay you know what i'm not just losing to someone no i'm losing to this Absolutely wicked guy. But Amanda... What a pity.
Speaker: that he's playing against emmy widow who has basically a free matchup because tonanta has no alolan nine tails answer in that finals emmy widow is basically cheering for tonanta versus spotter because like come on i want a free matchup please please please there's there's no iron ne on the on the corvina there's payback so that alone the night goes rampant and uh
Speaker: Honestly, like when he took a game, I was like, dudes dude, actually? But no, there was there was absolutely no chance. though yeah He had some good catches. He tried to do everything yeah possible. but i mean the I wouldn't say that the writing was so on the wall like it has been. And like sometimes when you see people play and it's just like the skill level is just so outmatched or the team composition is just so outmatched. But even still, like ah when they played against each other in the winner's finals, it was quite obvious that Emmy Weedle. Knew what...
Speaker: all All he had to do was... play as well as he normally does and that was a good matchup for him like he didn't have to go too crazy, make too many strange strategies, just like, okay, stick to what you know.
Speaker: and make sure to just follow through on that. And. tonantte but we ah You said he was your nemesis, and then I asked him if if he was okay with that being his little nickname. because I think a lot of people were feeling that way about him throughout the the weekend. Cause he's a name. Yeah. Not, so he's not like. Crazy well known?
Speaker: because he hasn't had like a super breakout performance until this moment. But I think a lot of people who do your practice tournaments or, I mean, you talked about how Adelian said that KingOWT was a really good player. I remember Jocks for a long time has been talking about how Tenante is a really, really good trainer.
Speaker: So i'm I'm really glad that he's been able to show himself. Also. The dude is just stoic. You know, we have these amazing walk out. Things that are now in in Europe, with our stages are awesome. So good. And, you know, you're given the announcement. People are walking out. Everyone's doing something goofy. And he just walks out. He's like. Yes. Okay.
Speaker: He goes, sits down, puts on his headphones. He's like, this guy means business. I feel like he was just not having it. Yeah, yeah. With the walk -ins. It's like, I don't know. It was just a little bit goofy. I did like the 6 -7 from Emmy Weedle. Yeah. but but But it was funny, right? It's the first time for everyone. We'll see.
Speaker: if we keep going with it honestly and if the players will also keep going with it But but i liked we tried this new new thing of the epic walk -in. And I was like, Huh? Okay.
Speaker: We'll do that. We didn't do the interview because we had a train to catch, but we had the epic walk in his set. And I'm like, I have no idea where to go. They keep pointing me. You have to stand there. You know, you stand there. You know, you stand there. They had no idea where to put the camera. And then when they had settled, I watched it back and I thought it it did look bad. OK, for what we had, I thought it looked pretty fine.
Speaker: yeah i think that the more we refine it too that'll be even better um but yeah i really liked it i'm now i'm wondering what your walkout will be for the next time that you're going to compete are you already thinking of what you're yes i did
Speaker: And I'm not going to do it. I was going to do like ah like a walk and then Paul Smith walk. But what if the cameraman then keeps going and he's like bamboozled? I probably, as caster, as someone who works with production sometimes, I probably shouldn't do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Someone else might do it. A funny one, if anyone wants to steal it in Europe, feel free. I thought a funny one would be to like peek out.
Speaker: yeah Instead of walking out, just peek your head out. Yeah, yeah its so yeah it's been it's been it's been pretty funny. They didn't do it for every match. No, that would take a very long time. But they did it for all the the winners' finals and also um the the first matchup of the day.
Speaker: And yeah, yeah so there was enough of them that you you kind of knew that it was going to be like a bigger matchup. to have them play on so i thought that it was a definitely a fun way to kind of introduce the different trainers And think about it for anyone coming to compete in Europe. You got to think of what your walk on is going to be because it could be featured.
Speaker: Yeah. um I mean, we're winning the tournament. What's new? I mean, Astonish Dunsparce I thought was a very creative pick. i don't I don't want to take credit for this, but I also had Alolan Knights very early on in my radar. I'm just not surprised that it's won two regionals in a row. or I definitely expected it to be top cut in a couple of things, like besides Melmetal.
Speaker: just hardly has bad matchups you have dazzling gleam you don't even do bad into a rock when it's i i ran it with chilling water so i'm not the visionary emmy weed always but um Very solid pick. And I kind of expect to see more of that, which which was in in the next regional that we would... Well, yeah, I mean, I was going to say, you talk about the last two. I mean, it it was on Rick Flarion's team for Brisbane.
Speaker: It was on Emmy Weedle's team. for Frankfurt, and it was on Hard Jeff's team for Recife. so Yeah. lo and Shadow Alola Ninetales is definitely meta.
Speaker: It's the reciever meta looks um European, I almost want to call it. And there there was this interesting comment that I saw somewhere about Brazilian players being watched. Amanda, I look at these players.
Speaker: This is... This is as cool as can get. these are like the coolest players you can have around you have uh in the in this top eight yes from eight to number one lindos ario regional champion.
Speaker: J .W. Naldo laic champion the old rico hasn't won yet but I know he's been playing a lot of practice. And he played with a Shadow Marth top, okay? Give the guy some credit. Martogaldai doesn't need introduction. Kurilaj, top four at Worlds. Zardy reached top four at Worlds before. Gandox hasn't won yet, but really good. Harjev only won seven times or something. yeah but and You have some of the most insane and battlers at this small tournament of 48 people. I don't know if it was capped at that.
Speaker: but you look at the meta and it just represents exactly what a top player's meta looks like you have done sparse and shadow high dragon sharing a number one spot. Only in LATAM. I would say, if I look at this, I would say this is European meta. No, no, this was LATAM. Insane. I love it.
Speaker: Yeah. Also, to your point, I mean, like the Oceania region had roughly the same amount of competitors as well and not throwing shade at the players because we've already established they're they're very good. A lot of them's world contenders doing decent.
Speaker: but For a tournament of almost the exact same size and the accolades that also you just pointed out there, it... it's an insane caliber of performance in Recife and Last week, we did.
Speaker: talk you and me and we we're like, okay, yeah, we we don't have time to do the podcast, but let's go ahead and get our draft picks in. And I picked hard Jeff. And the reason I picked hard Jeff was because for one, I just like.
Speaker: I think that he's incredible uh really really good player uh mission you know he's in those guys in the Used to be Wholesome Hangout, now The Hangout. They play sheep every once in a while.
Speaker: which is this game where, you know, there's a question that is asked and then. You don't necessarily go with the answer that you think is... true but you go with an answer that you think is the communal answer, like the that the most sheep would pick. This is the summary of the game.
Speaker: And... The question back then was, who's the best lat -tam player? And it was right after Marto had won LAIC and it was right after my, and honestly, truthfully, if I would have been thinking about it, Marto is also a fantastic pick. I didn't think about it because I was still thinking. it's hard jeff hard jeff is the best a latin trainer And.
Speaker: I mean, it's ah it's definitely up for debate, but he's the only trainer. in Yeah, the whole thing that's won seven regional competitions. He was the first trainer that we had who went undefeated in a tournament. He's one and I see.
Speaker: He got Fourth place at Worlds? Two years ago. third place third yeah i mean so yeah fourth podium finish at world's uh Hard Jeff is definitely a contender for it. And I didn't win sheep that week.
Speaker: um It's... ah A phenomenon, honestly. Like... I would say if you look at the difficulty, if you compare this to um to for example to brisbane and again not good to discredit uh brisbane too much because obviously great players but if you look at the level here right you have um
Speaker: You don't see them on this graphic, but you have Steinar and DeSync as well in these tournaments. Not exactly freebies either. Lindos Bernardo. I don't know if you've ever played against him. freaking insane i would say on the level of rgf i don't know why it doesn't get further maybe unlucky maybe just about a bad couple bad games real dante i believe got close to winning or top cutting somewhere uh
Speaker: um What's the LASC? I don't remember. But he got far somewhere. Really good player as well. Lindos Kanan, multiple regional winner. This is the tournament, same size of Brisbane, but like six Ric Flarians.
Speaker: Okay. I hate that I'm measuring this in Ric Flair's right now, but that's that's where I'm at right now. I'm sorry if that offends anyone, but that's just how I see this this specific tournament that has... It's small. Zardy told me it's hard to reach.
Speaker: ah this place, which might explain the numbers as well. but um That's true. The players there are crazy. and I believe only the finals were streamed. I didn't see it. I wasn't even aware. Well, I mean, speaking of Zardy.
Speaker: Why don't you walk us through your pick for the draft this week? Yeah, I sent you a screenshot where Zardy got very far and he played in the winner's final of his group. There were two groups, group A and B. In Group B, it was Zardy versus Arjef. And it was a swift 2 -0, Amanda. Not even a challenge for Zardy. uh And then Zardy lost to Gandox in the winner's final. Very tough matchup. Shadow Empoleon pretty free with Waterfall. um And then he faced RGF and he lost. ah
Speaker: Two, three, almost reverse swept, but... King hard Jeff. I mean, there's not nothing. like it was a smart pick i guess that's why you wanted to pick first so you could cheat but yeah you know you left that detail out but i don't know i mean like we've clearly gone back and forth every single week so this week you can pick first Thank you. So generous.
Speaker: i I am a quite a generous person. um But yeah, I mean, Zard is also a really... Great trainer. Last season, he of won a regional competition again. It had been a while for me. I mean, he was doing consistently well. He's a trainer that is also very well known, especially in the LATAM region.
Speaker: And. I'm... It's kind of a joke between me and Zardy as well, because one time I was at LAIC, I was casting it and he had. done well enough in the tournament that from the championship points he was qualified for Worlds.
Speaker: And so I was just confirming that information with them in a ah Discord message. I said, hey, with all this, you should be qualified for Worlds, correct? And he wrote back. I'm Amanda.
Speaker: And so I said, No, I'm Amanda. And then half afterwards he wrote, oh, I meant to say like. I am Amanda, like confirming I am qualified. But ever since then, like a small group of people that's called them Amanda because it got out in our group. So I told them I've never been so proud to be named Amanda as of this weekend.
Speaker: punctuality dots and commas very important uh i know arrow also sucks at this and it's the same kind of thing that you see sometimes i mean look how serious are we anyway about that but but it makes this kind of funny jokes It's just, I'm Amanda. No, I'm Amanda.
Speaker: Uh... Pretty, uh... Pretty funny, yeah um What else there to say about the receiver? I think a lot of... returning names, but but honestly...
Speaker: I feel like this might just set the meta for the next regionals to come. Maybe not the Dunsparce. I'm not so so ah convinced by Dunsparce. but something like hydragen k9 and melmetal i was surprised k9 had such a low usage uh especially with with mom with with canton uh sorry a lot of ninetales being rising people are gonna play think tone to break uh dragon plus plus uh floor just I was... some
Speaker: Canto Knights are just a very good Pokemon. I was very surprised that people were dropping it. like There's hardly any hard counters into it. Altaria just gets... as a such a hard time into Even Klotzai right now, if you run Moonblast Flamethrower. Have you ever played that matchup? It's terrible. It's annoying. fortaria No, annoying is is an understatement. You you lose. With a shield down, you... You...
Speaker: Barely win. When Claude Sayre... doesn't use shields and you use two assault target that is how bad it is right now So. right it's just uh i i feel like for the next tournaments we're definitely going to see cantonites coming back the prime kind counter might just be high dragon again not so convinced by dunsparce but maybe i was proven wrong and the the pokemon that stood out the most to me something i considered for worlds last season as well
Speaker: I'm not a believer in this Pokemon. It has a lot of soft losses. It's like an and a mind and a mind joke Pokemon, I call it. Lantern. It has ah a bad moves it just has a bad or a slow moveset, and it doesn't help that. It doesn't have a lot of weaknesses right now, though, because it's hardly grass -type Pokemon. People realize quickly that a Rillaboom is not the play.
Speaker: So what counts do you have right now? You have Hydreigon, but I feel like a Surf plus Water Guns might almost knock it out. Is it that hard of a counter? Maybe with Shields up. but that that cannot be difficult. Lantern pairs super well with Fairy -type Pokémon, so you can even cover your main weakness in the Dragon -type Pokémon. um And that's what he did. Lantern, alone on Ninetales, you have an... excellent core you beat melmetal in some scenarios with it uh and then he has quacks are regular quacks are to come for it as well
Speaker: I'm not expecting to see the exact team from RGF right away in Nice, or actually, rather outusage I should say Louisville, because that's the next one coming up in North America this weekend.
Speaker: But this is this is definitely setting the stage. I mean, Zswaila is winning with Corviknight. Hardjob winning with Corviknight. It's definitely... Poetsy. going to point people towards using the Steel Bird.
Speaker: Yep. full We'll have to see. for sure because yeah like you said there's going to be one coming up this weekend So... in In that regard as well, Martin. Speaking of the draft.
Speaker: ah Do you want to do and go ahead and take your? draft pick not only for pokemon but for people who who are you wanting to add to your roster. do we ah Do we have anyone banning anything?
Speaker: Yeah. We didn't have it this week, so it's a free for all. Hmm.
Speaker: Louisville, I have no idea who's going there. What what would be my best odds at Louisville? ah Is out of pocket picked yet? No, I'm picking out of pocket. He's going everywhere. Yeah, he's a safe bet. Let's go pocket. Let's go. I will help you. all right now i need to i need to rethink
Speaker: Embarrassing! Alright. That couldn't be me. That really couldn't be me. NA Pokemon Go leaderboard. Just to get some names. Go search some names, girl. I mean, again, we don't even know who's going to YouTube. I know, I know. that's not I mean, again, I had Rise originally, and then I was like, oh, you're in Europe? Or not in Europe, you're in Australia? That's not going to be helpful for me.
Speaker: I'm actually messy fucked right now. like How many people are registered for Louisville? I wonder. Okay. You know what? I might as well.
Speaker: So I'm debating a couple things right now. I think that. Arrow obviously is incredibly talented. He's doing really well. We talked about Sceptile Ice last time being in the grand finals. Do I want to go with an oldie but a goodie safe bet like Doonbug who...
Speaker: was you know pretty much the first one to Pretty good pick. Yeah, it's it's a bit of a... old garden I will. I'll go with the safe bet here. ah I'm leading so hard in this draft.
Speaker: That you have one I'll let you take out a puck. I have I have hard Jeff on my team who just won a competition. And I have Boom on my team. who uh who top eight at the Frankfurt competition. Well, I thought it was about wins.
Speaker: No, no, no. well I mean, well well, actually, yeah, we should... We should. form what the Draft actually is. You didn't think of that? but I assumed it was like you win a competition.
Speaker: You get like. Let's say... 50 points. And second place gets 30 points. we'll we'll you know We'll come up with something like this. I'll even let you come up with it.
Speaker: And I'll sign off on approval for it. And we'll we'll get that nailed down for for our next podcast. Because I don't want you saying, oh, you know, Amanda's bending the rules to make it work out better for her when really she just can pick better than me.
Speaker: Look. Just for the record. um And your pick has been set. out of pocket has defeated doom buck three times out of the five encounters so Mike? Pick is a little bit safer in that one. Well, yeah. Well, fear it was going to be my pick.
Speaker: but it wasn't but it wasn't but it wasn't all right so hey listen i'm not complaining about my pick either dunbug is obviously one of the most well -known trainers that we have not only in north america but globally so he could be added to my roster of champions we can add out of pocket to yours. We'll get that updated before the the podcast goes out.
Speaker: What an honor. um Should I quickly go through events coming up? Yes, please. Let me know what I need to be searching for this week. I'm actually going to downscale a little bit on the videos, by the way. i'm gonna I'm hoping to make like two videos a week instead of one for every day. Yeah, I mean... Listen, I...
Speaker: It's super ambitious and I think it's definitely rewarding probably, but I don't want you to get burned out on doing it either. so I will do it whenever I want. Honestly, I can quit any moment I want. That's how I see it. But um I want to go to the gym a little bit more, and I hardly have time for that with making a video every day. Yeah, me too, me too. Yeah, yeah, of course you do with your nice sweater. um For rates, we get a Mega Blastoise.
Speaker: Could be a cool... super max later but again you get 200 mega energy per rate so i will be using my free pass on it But the regular raid from Wednesday on will be Yveltal. Very good pick for Master League, especially with everyone spamming Mewtwo in Mega Masters. So definitely want to look out for that. Spotlight Hour is Altium. Not going to waste too much time on this useless Pokemon. Zorua is the Community Day.
Speaker: Amanda? For PvP, it's nothing for rates is nothing it maxes out like 3000 CP it gets sucker punch just a fast attack It's basically a worst evil cool Pokemon. I really hope it gets an ability sometime. I'm gonna get a good one You're not gonna use this for for a definitely not this season, but I'm hoping that at some point right now They're adding abilities to some Pokemon. We're getting meaner uh next week.
Speaker: right which has the school ability as well I'm hoping Zuruha gets one as well, where you you like you look like one of the Pokemon that you have in the back, but you're not. Ooh, yeah. That's something that it does in the main series. It's ah it's a very cool one.
Speaker: um That's honestly that all we have for for this week. We have... I may as well cover Monday next week because our podcast will come out on Tuesday. Yep. Dynamax Rookie. Rookie D.
Speaker: during max monday day hey if you didn't know yet you get a guaranteed red candy excel from those and i double them because i spent too much money on this yeah obviously we're making so much money off the podcast so yeah yeah i mean listen it's just it's flowing yeah we made six billion last week that's crazy most lucrative big business I've ever been in. But it's a cool one, right? ah You're not going to get a PvP IV, but cool Pokemon, I guess, if you want to have some for trading. so
Speaker: that's kind of the events you uh you have to look out for i don't think it's too exciting but uh it's okay to have a chill week sometimes right Yeah for sure, for sure. It's always like one of those things like right after there's a community day You kind of expect to see a lot of them in the Go Battle League. yeah and i don't think I don't think we're going to see any of this one. ah Absolutely not. It's also going to be three times catch XP. So no extra starters. I mean, if you want to.
Speaker: Level up. I know you're not level 80 yet. I am not level 80. But I just, I recently leveled up to like the level 78. Okay, not bad. So i've got I got all the kilometers done. And now it's like ah and one of them. I can't remember what the very first task was, but it was automatically checked off.
Speaker: so That's probably getting the medal. Yeah, I think it was some sort of metals. And then I have to hatch eggs and I have to get lucky Pokemon. So these are my. level Yeah, I have to defeat.
Speaker: 25 more. Pokemon Go Rocket Leaders? Easy, especially with what's going on right now. I need to hatch. This is math 51. More eggs. 15 minutes, yeah.
Speaker: and i need to get 24 more lucky trades wow me and zionic almost did that in one day i know yeah how crazy is that we had like 16 lucky trades in a row i truly think something was glitched in your guys's game because maybe it's for fridays there's like the friendship fridays and you can do three extra special trades or you can do three special trades total And you get like a guaranteed Excel.
Speaker: Pokemon or yeah candy for each trade. And. For some reason, and maybe it's wrong, but I was thinking that also your chances of getting lucky Pokemon were higher. On Fridays?
Speaker: So maybe... That mixed with... older pokemon of his and you guys like like something some weird concoction happened where you guys got 15 Lucky trades in a row, which is an absolutely insane amount It's... ah i i saw people say yeah it's probably the guaranteed because they were so old but the first
Speaker: half hour, we got like one lucky Pokemon. So no, that was not the case. And those were also from like 2022 and 2020. All of those. So that was not the case. and I know that, but...
Speaker: That was i was crazy. uh i'm not happy about it of course because i wanted the pvp uh ip yeah yeah mericck but it was funny i wanted one from the museum i truly i thought about the fact since you never pinned my gifts anyway although you are good at opening i was like maybe how are you insulted over this no maybe we should just defriend ourselves for yeah What is it? A month? Two months? As if you catch Pokemon to trade. You're like, boom. Oh, baby. what you been star Are you yeah you looking for...
Speaker: Alolan Marowax, let me see how many I have for trade. it If it wasn't for me and Tristan, you wouldn't even have a Go Plus right now. Well, that is true. But that's just because I lose them. All right.
Speaker: i'm just looking quickly how many that are not traded alolan marowaks that i have
Speaker: ah You can just use stacks for this. You know that, right? I did. I looked Marowak and not traded. Okay, okay. But but then there's also the other Marowaks, you know, like there's the regular version.
Speaker: I see. I've got Hornedge. I've got Impidimp. I've got...
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, you got like five Pokemon. How dare you, sir? You just like to be my friend too much. You would never defriend me. Hey, at least we got to cast one regional together. yeah i mean I feel like we always work together, but never actually pair together. Last season, we were on, I think, like...
Speaker: Three or maybe even four. ah regionals together and of course I love casting with basically everyone on our team uh but we had mostly knew yeah yeah um obviously but last season we had a lot of new people and so of course i think that they were like kind of like splitting out the the casters who had been around a little bit longer to help you know show everyone how the production side of things go but this one we actually got to cast together for pretty much all of day two which i don't think has happened in a long time
Speaker: I think Anna Emma we was very happy with that. Oh, that reminds me. we we should I should have a blind ranking for you as well. But I want to actually do a not blind ranking. We're just going to rank all the casters for you. All the casters? No, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. We're not going to throw in that controversy. So my time is definitely, what is it? We have like 30. He's like.
Speaker: 32 and then speedy's not 33 i got it perfect That's all that matters. Funny, funny boy. It's it's just funny to to tease him with that. I know, I know.
Speaker: Yeah. Last thing that I will say. I just got an update Louisville has 153 competitors registered currently. Okay. so i mean months more We in Europe are jealous. Yeah. what ah What was our total for Frankfurt? It was over 100 that was actually registered, which I was like...
Speaker: Happy about but 111. Yeah i think Something like that. I mean, and i I truthfully think frankfurt will probably be on the
Speaker: Higher end for Europe. I think Birmingham will probably be the biggest one because it's always the easiest for most people to to get to across Nice. As cool of a location as it is. a lot of people are saying it's just a little bit more difficult to get to. Although I know that Mega Junko is like jumping in his seat. He's so happy about it being very close to where he lived because he was that was his major complaint about Lille. It was like, oh, it's too far away to get to. But.
Speaker: I felt like all my friends around France were complaining about Liu. And now you see like half the numbers. We have 91 competitors registered. We usually have like 180 in Liu. Well. Cool to have it there, I guess. I mean, I'm not complaining. I'm flying to a new place. But driving to Lille would have been cool for me personally. and It's just very easy to reach for ah the British people as well. So I guess that explains those numbers. And now it's I feel like in general, it's harder to reach for people. I'm a little bit upset. It's in a new location because ah Tristan and I are in a...
Speaker: a race now because he beat me to 20 ,000 unique Pokestop sponge. Oh. And now. We're racing to 30 ,000. But there's now that I know it's a goal for both of us, there's no way I am letting him beat me to 30 ,000. So that's why.
Speaker: He asks me to find a route with 500 Pokestops. Oh, yeah, we're going to do that. No, I know you guys are going to be all around the city using your Go Pluses. Yes, we're going to do that on Friday. I got like a bus tour that will drive us exactly past all the areas.
Speaker: With the Pokestops. ah I, I... I don't want to give away the special sauce because i don't'm I'm going to try to keep Tristan in like ah an ease of thought. I think he's definitely ahead of me in Pokestops to begin with. now because he was just in Canada and then he was in Frankfurt and so he's definitely uh spun more than me. I'm just going to give a brief update so we can see where we're i'm at i'm at 20 129 now
Speaker: Wait. How many? 20 ,129. Really? I'm at 20 ,130. Are you being serious? Yeah. One more. I don't believe you Oh, yeah, I would show you right now, but I don't have a... My phone is dead. as Yeah, i'll I'll show you next time. But...
Speaker: I will not be a niece because I am traveling. the I am not indeed. traveling i'm going to be on a cruise where every single day it's stopping on a different island and now what i'm praying about is that these islands stop soing stop no stops at all you're gonna get all these helioptile i know i'm just gonna be there and it's like okay well this is great and this palm tree is nice but i need a stop to spin i need a gym to put a pokemon in
Speaker: because there's You hear me, Tristan? There's no way you're beating me to 30 ,000. Except with me when we're cruising. Now you're really good. He doesn't need any help.
Speaker: You say I don't play the game, but come on. ah I would say that I definitely have more than you of Unique's Pokestops. My phone's in charge right now, but i i I think last time I saw a screenshot of yours, I was very close. So I'm not i'm definitely not far off. If I would just estimate, I'm probably around 19 or 18K. Okay.
Speaker: Yeah. This really started with a palasha because she was saying, you know, I'm trying to spin and I'm getting the more. And I was like, OK, I'm going to race her now. But then she keeps catching up to other people need to stop traveling.
Speaker: Exactly. Yeah, I would like to be bowled at it as well. Actually. She's always bragging against me I don't know if you've ever noticed when I'm interviewing her. She's too comfortable. She's like, okay I'm ready to give this guy shit because it's more tiny and I could do that. I'm like You don't do that with anyone else, do you, now? I was going through old... ah videos of like the highlights that we used to do from the regional competitions and i came across the one when the Thomas, so technical was.
Speaker: uh one of the casters as well and he was interviewing on the couch and you said like what can i say i'm uh i'm a good loser and he's like oh you're a good what I shouldn't say you're a it called again in in English? His driver's license right now. though yeah So a little update on him. He's still alive. We played Mario Party at my house the other day. a couple Nice, nice. Oh, where what was the invite? I was literally around the corner. Oh yeah, I should have told you that I was there and not invite you like you do with me.
Speaker: I would say this season has so far been like the season of being back. A little bit. Our podcast is back. Zionic is back. a fun Fun thing for him is Frankfurt was where it all began for him because he was one of the original casters at EUIC, which was our first broadcasted event.
Speaker: And so. and stone collection. Did - quite well in the tournament, made it to day two with a Samurott. That was one of his original Pokemon. Emuidle won yet again with an Araquanid on his team. So back. I want to make a video about that, but I've been very lazy lately. Hard Jeff again winning the first event. Also with Lantern, right? Didn't he win another one with a...
Speaker: lantern, I think. i don't remember it's this last one uh i mean it's probably not that far off i so i mean oh A lot of lot of people are back. Yeah.
Speaker: if we saw We saw the nut. ah he's We did. He's not playing. Not at all Also around, also back Yeah. Do you think Farid will play a tournament as well?
Speaker: we'll have so yeah that That will be the true test of being back. If he can once again get a second place finish, then it's... All as all as usual. I'll i'll beat him in the grand finals. as
Speaker: All right, Amanda, I think it's time for me to go make dinner. All righty. Always good talking to you, my friend. We'll see who comes out on top after Louisville, which will be this weekend, of course.
Speaker: Let's try. We will make no promises, but we'll try to get another podcast out before Nice as well so we can get yes some more. and see if Martijn will let us know.
Speaker: what his team will be. and Absolutely not. There will be guillotine. it'll be guillotine i'm not i'm not certain yet this might not be below the nine tails this one this might not be the season of guillotine but i've been testing origin it's it's been something but then everyone plays save lie yeah and also now yeah shadow of lola nine tails yeah not the best for it everyone everyone hates a zoomer all it's whatever everyone's yeah everyone's just gonna bring their whole lineup of uh it's me against the world that's how i see it yeah
Speaker: well We'll see how you do. In the meantime... Will I? I'll stop by your area but not say hi again. Bye everyone!
