Speaker: Well, hello, everyone.
Speaker: and chair
Speaker: well hello everyone I'd say um welcome to talking shit. We haven't been on in a while. I, if you, I'm Mark, of course, I'm a little nervous about this one because, you know, it's not too often I do this without Brian. A couple times I've done it any which way. um Me and Brian would like to um thank you guys are everyone that has reached out, who called us messages just talking to us about what has happened over the summer.
Speaker: um For everybody that don't know had lost my mom May 22 and. Pretty much all summer, we had not done a.
Speaker: we've done three shows and when we went to come back on um brian found out that he had lost his sister and three others in a car accident um
Speaker: it's been a trying time for us uh here at talking shit and you guys have all been grateful brian will be gone probably through the rest of september I'm not sure on October when he'll be back. and I told him he had to be back at least for my birthday, at least doing that show.
Speaker: um Other than that, aye I got some great, great co-hosts that are going to come on and we got some great guests too.
Speaker: have But other than that, the first one I had reached out to was Mary Kay. Because normally, she normally tells us, she never tells us no. I can tell you that.
Speaker: She's always helped us out. She's been good to talking shit along with everybody else that's i that has reached out. um So I'm going to bring her out.
Speaker: If it'll ever come up. There we go. Yay! Hey, everybody. hello Mark. Well, I'm not wrong. You normally never tell us no.
Speaker: Nope. Nope. I'm always here to help out. and hope You guys are amazing and you're great to the indie horror community and all the other communities of, you know, artists. And so we're we're here for you also.
Speaker: So is that a blanket or a poster behind you? It's a blankie. It's very soft. Yes. My blankie face right there. It just makes a really good backdrop because I don't have like a really good setup yet with all my toys and stuff back there, but I will one day.
Speaker: So, so yes, it's my, my Clamato blankie. you Nice. Yeah. Yeah, I reached out to you and what probably within a few hours, you had messaged me back said, yeah, I'll do it.
Speaker: So I was happy about that. And we also got, you know, we also got a great guest on. you when i When I did this, I didn't realize that you guys had did a movie together. hear And i i was going through his IMDb and I was like, oh cool, you know.
Speaker: So, I mean, yeah I guess I did something right. Yes. Yes. He is so much fun. And we, ah I mean, we'll get into it, I'm sure. But we we had so much fun. That it was hilarious.
Speaker: It was super funny. So. I'm going to bring Tom on. Awesome.
Speaker: His background changed. Yay! I am a brick in the wall. Yes. Aren't we all? How are you doing today, Tom? I'm doing great, Mark.
Speaker: I haven't talked to you in face-to-face since Veterans Day. a Memorial Day. Yeah. Was it Memorial there That's when we did it.
Speaker: Yep. Memorial Day. Yeah, Memorial. In May. The end of May. End of May. when Yeah. I was about say, I don't think you are a part of the November one.
Speaker: No. No, but you could be this year. I could I'm available. Uh-oh. There he is. He's good.
Speaker: It froze up for a second. It froze up for a second. It might be it might be the the internet or it just might be me. I may freeze.
Speaker: That would be so funny if he's sitting there like freezing on purpose. I can still see Tom doing that. That's hilarious. Wait, what do you mean we didn't just go to commercial break in real life?
Speaker: see Oh, if I had commercials, I would be i would have money. ah Sponsorships is a hard nugget to crack. Yeah. eight Yes, I agree. And look, Brian did pop on for a second.
Speaker: Oh, we are popping yo. Yeah. Popping fresh dough. We are. Yay. Oh. Illuminy in disguise. mean, there's more. i But we'll get to them in a little bit. Yeah. Let them flow. Let them let the spice flow.
Speaker: So we talked a lot about your military stuff on the last show. Should we talk military stuff or we want to talk movie stuff? Let's talk movie stuff. Yay, movie stuff.
Speaker: So um there's two. so I want to know about this awesome emotional support demon. Tell me about that. What is that? Because the cat is adorable, by the way. Adorable. So...
Speaker: Here in North Carolina, we put together this all star cast and crew list to put together one of Bill Mulligan's runs. Bill Mulligan just retired as a as a high school science teacher.
Speaker: i So his wisdom is shared to many, many minds that will not put two and two together for a long time. And then they're finally realize they had one of the hardest men on the planet teaching them science and they just threw it away.
Speaker: ah yes But we had this all-star cast and crew, makeup geniuses, great location. Sammy Castle was more of a producer than an extra.
Speaker: Dave Harlequin directed it. ah Mark Lucas produced it. Jason Beteran from Kill Giggles is has a cameo as a demon in it.
Speaker: He looks like the guy that looks like Chris Robinson from the Black Crows or Rob Zombie's little brother. they i don't get it. I really don't.
Speaker: man, that sounds awesome. Yeah, it's at so an emotional support demon. i Marduk, run a company where somebody makes a benign celestial request to have their lives turned around in some way, day, perform.
Speaker: And a will dispatch one of my many emotional support demons to take care of said request.
Speaker: Now, the devil is in the details. As always, no one ever reads the fine print. no one ah you always You've already spent the 60 bucks for the game. You don't care about the T's and C's. Just hit accept and play the game.
Speaker: right and in entirely so
Speaker: it crashes every eight minutes of play time you're just upset and then you're just really tempted to read those t's and c's and the funny is in the unveiling of all the layers of that that's been set up now it's gone through the festival circuit and it has won crazy amount of recognition and wins you know it's i It reminded me for a short time that I was an award-winning filmmaker. Awesome.
Speaker: And then as it ran its course, and now it's on a ah sophomore run at many, many places, which is wonderful because in indie there there really is no sophomore season for any indie projects.
Speaker: i mean So when it does happen, you're just, like yeah it's mind blowing. Yeah. Well, congratulations. That's awesome. That's super awesome. Will we be able to see it in a streaming capacity at all at some point?
Speaker: We are working on that. That is conversation for me and Parla Quinn and couple of the other powers that be. ah It should be.
Speaker: And when I do, I will let you all know through the social media commercial, every fourth link is a commercial ad for something that you don't need in your life.
Speaker: I know. I know. You know, you can click on, I just found this out, and maybe I'm like in the Stone Age or something, but it might be.
Speaker: um You can click on your friends and then it almost shows you like a friend's feed that doesn't have as many ads in it. I just figured that out. Did you know that?
Speaker: Yes. And it's almost. Almost. almost No ads. But it's way better. Oh, it is. it is but oh Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: I don't know. All the algorithms in the ads. It makes it almost not even worth it anymore. But whatever. more ads than there is anything else yeah yeah i go through i go through there and press ah i don't like this one i don't like this one yeah that's what i do and you know what and i'm waiting to see what the bottom of this barrel is am i gonna find the little girl at the bottom of the well yeah oh gosh you never know never know yep yeah i know it's like the what is it ready player one where they're selling the the visual space of the player and they're like we can sell up to like 85 of their screen without inducing like seizures like that's where we're at right now the most mind-boggling thing of that whole movie that whole plot line relies on the fact that you only have one game to play
Speaker: You would have went to Activision or Sony or one other competitor's company just just on that alone. The movie's dead. The plot is gone. yeah i'm like well they wanted i'm sure is great as a read.
Speaker: What's that, Mark? They wanted to find the treasure. That's the reason why everybody was playing it. I can't wait for Ready Player Two. That was Luigi.
Speaker: No, no, no, no. They got to this in.
Speaker: They got a book. i I actually own the book. I just haven't read it yet. Yeah, I've heard that the book is a really good, too.
Speaker: So what other movie are you working on? god what What am I not? The next heat coming up in February is Satanic Circus. out So we get to be in another movie together too. That's right.
Speaker: Are you going to be a clown in that one? Yes. Yes. And I get to kill people in this one.
Speaker: No. I know. You get to be a bad guy clown. get to be a bad guy. Are you going to be a clown too? I am not a clown. Oh, oh my.
Speaker: We're all the time. Very opposite. I'm, I am the park ranger investigator.
Speaker: Yeah. I'm the good guy. there's Paul. Hi, Paul. Paul's wonderful. Um, you're, you're a good guy. That means that she's probably going to be the one taking you out.
Speaker: Maybe. um Well, i okay, here's here's here's the dichotomy. When you're making a clown, when you're making a circus movie, all of the circus performers are the good guys.
Speaker: Anyone outside of the circus is a bad guy. hey So in the in normal storytelling, Your law enforcement, your military, your heroes are your normal stereotype good guys.
Speaker: And the monsters are obviously the bad guys. But in circus movies and clown movies, they flip it. Correct. and So don see I'm the good guy. i'm you guy So at least you're the good guy and I'm the bad guy. But in the story in the universe, hey, it's Josh. How you doing, buddy? We're just talking about your movie.
Speaker: awesome browning would be is putting everything together as ah as a producer and an ad yeah he is assisting the director
Speaker: yes we're talking about all the fun it's amazing amazing everyone watching on this early smokes that's right yeah we were belly besties in desert fiends 2.
Speaker: maybe That's because I wore a crop top. I know. So did I don't need to ever wear a crop top ever again. What, we can't do it in a circus movie? Why?
Speaker: I was thinking about watching it. I somehow don't think, I don't think, the script's not all the way finalized yet, but I somehow don't see a shing a scene since I'm actually going to be doing AD duties again. i said duties. Yeah, true.
Speaker: You could wear a little park ranger crop top, though. We could make that happen.
Speaker: is This is why you're not costume designer. Do not give Josh and Bobby ideas, please.
Speaker: Well, it's right here. and you know I can make a little reel of it. yeah
Speaker: It was so fun, though. I had so much fun with you guys on that set. It was hilarious. It was so much fun. Oh, wait till you see the newest cast announcement. Don't tease us, Josh. Just put it out there.
Speaker: i know. Just tell us right now. Just tell us right now make it Make it an exclusive talking shit exclusive. oh Oh, uh-oh. Who are we going to see?
Speaker: I gave them all ideas. Twinsy Ranger Crop Top. All right, that's very. Erica Guzman is Final Sand Wardrobe. So I'm like, oh my.
Speaker: Sorry. For the bloopers reel, we can have twinsie rangers crop tops.
Speaker: Now one he's dreading doing this. I know. He's going to do this. am it's it's This is my dread face.
Speaker: Oh, it's such good stuff. Oh, man. Oh, man. Yes. so So, yeah. So, other than that one, is that what you've got for spring? Is this one? Any other stuff going on?
Speaker: um've I've got a couple of projects right now that I'm still in the process of writing. ah One is my version of Cryptids and Creatures, going after some of the lesser-known lore and putting my spin on some of the things that go bump in the night.
Speaker: Awesome. um And I know I'm writing myself into a financial pickle with some of these effects.
Speaker: Just... trying you know and i'm like if i do it this way it'll look definitely late 80s early 90s cheesy effects like i'm um i'm almost at the point of popsicle stick theater a poet oh oh
Speaker: man the tournament's officer doofy turns into stud like in scary movie There you go. No, you're so much better than that though. Our character for you will be so much better.
Speaker: Then we can do the the conventions, the horror cons in our Ranger Twinsy shirts. You know, Sammy, Sammy Castle gets recognized all the time at these horror cons. I don't, I go to con too. I'm like, hi, hi.
Speaker: I'm Tom. We need to fix that. You need to come to Days of the Dead in Vegas.
Speaker: Daniel Cole is our guest. Yes. Daniel Cole's. It is going to be a blast. It is. Yeah.
Speaker: I just, I hope everyone's prepared for the desert heat in February.
Speaker: in february It's not It's not. That's the thing. It's going it's like a 30 degree temperature going from day to night where everyone's going to be like, hey, it's normal. We can do this. And then the sun sets and everyone's frozen.
Speaker: Yes. yeahp But it's better than it being like 120. I'm coming off that right now and I don't like that at all. Cool down to 95 degrees and you're like,
Speaker: Okay, see that's just a freaking tease right there. it's see I know, what a tease. Josh, stop doing this to us, man. You're just you're yanking at me. Horror slasher, icon, legend.
Speaker: All you can say right now. It's packed so full already, though. I'm so excited. i really am so, so excited. It's going to be such a blast. I'm so glad you're on it. I'm glad I'm on it. I'm glad we have wardrobe figured out.
Speaker: Glad we have all these icons. It's going to be good. I'm excited. we got We got Kane hotter.
Speaker: that yeah That guy's that guy is a rock star. he Yeah, he he's on my top two list of people on my fantasy that I want on the show. Yes.
Speaker: Oh, man, we need to try to make that happen. Oh, I would love to. I got to work with him on a movie called Checkpoint, and i had three weeks where I just got to pick his brain, and it was enlightening.
Speaker: That's awesome. Josh is telling everyone it's going to be in the forty s at night. He's going to scare everybody. 40s? What are we doing? I'm going to have to wear, oh my, I'm going to have long johns under my tighties.
Speaker: It's going to be weird with him in the half shirt, you know, with him in long johns. Yeah, that's a good look. Yeah. Do I, do I, wait.
Speaker: what with what what do they what cummerbund i'll wear a cummerbund under my crop top that's perfect i imagine it don't let me do that won't my wife's right here just listening to these all these like no up
Speaker: oh that's hilarious no i'm sure they will have like circus themed onesies zip up pajamas for all of us when we're not filming so we can save one there's another good idea too yay see what the the clown the clown outfits you can get like the clowns one piece the onesie clownsie yes with like the polka dots or the spots or whatever yeah and and you're and you're good you yeah you could put your You could put a turtle shell under there, elbow and knee pads, and do all kinds of stunts under under a clumsy onesie.
Speaker: You can. okay you know And you can get away with a lot of stunt work doing all that. yeah But when you're wearing a Reno 911, biker shorts, codpiece, and crop top getup,
Speaker: and if you's network work you you're You're just taking that you're taking that hit no matter what.
Speaker: Yep, going to be good. So what about telling us about the Hyxorcist? Because that's one everyone can watch. Ah, the Hyxorcist is available on Tubi. It's ah still working out, finishing up the DVD i distribution portion of it.
Speaker: ah to be available at conventions not sure if we'll be able to get it into stores on consignment or distribution through walmart it yet we're still working still working that piece but it is out on the streamers awesome the hicks are six tom gore sammy castle yay
Speaker: yes that's true practice match too just uh opened up in theaters tonight I hope it's good. I'm a little nervous because it was really, really like one of those movies I loved when I was young. And if they ruin it, I'm going to like... That's problem with having them so far apart.
Speaker: It's a hit and miss. Yeah, totally. Yeah, they're they're they're selling nostalgia. Yeah. Yeah. Well, if they didn't this job, I'll like dole out my dollars for it, like hardcore. But if they if it's just too, I don't know.
Speaker: I don't know. I'll go into it with a ah positive outlook, I guess. I'll go in there with an open mind whenever I just decide to watch it Yeah. um I'm going to send my wife and daughter to go see it after all of the moms whose kids are in school getting coughs and yeah sick and cold and stuff.
Speaker: After they've already gone through the cycle and it' still theaters and it's like an empty theater. I'll send them to go watch it. Yes. Good plan. Yeah. I know it is it totally that beginning of school cold, nasty.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm new jerseys new couple of germs. I homeschool mine. So I'm like, Nope, no germs. Just we just want to kill each other all the time. But my kids are all out of school. Give or take.
Speaker: yes give or take no no germs domestic violence it's yeah you know no never never never i love them do little pieces yeah yeah so
Speaker: so so yeah let's take a break okay we're gonna play a music video first and then we have another video to follow it it'll go Right afterwards.
Speaker: um The song is from Cooper Allen and it's Never Not Remember You. Hope I said that right.
Speaker: I know you're up in heaven, but damn, it hurts like hell. Cause I'd just be pretending if I said anything else.
Speaker: And I know God don't make mistakes, but this sure feels like one. That won't change the facts. That won't bring you back.
Speaker: So I'll cry. I'll never not remember you.
Speaker: Thank God for all the memories and pictures on my phone. They don't fill the empty, but I feel less alone.
Speaker: And I know you're with the angels right where you belong. Cause you were one to us. You left a legacy of love.
Speaker: So I'll cry. And in time.
Speaker: I'll start healing. But even when I get that feeling, no matter where I go or what I do, I'll never not remember you.
Speaker: You lighting up a whole room like that. You made us think, made us feel, made us all laugh. You always giving that shirt off your back. I miss you bad.
Speaker: I miss you So I'll cry. I'll never not remember you.
Speaker: Got your picture on the dash Talking to it like you'd answer back Still feels like you're just awake But it feels wrong
Speaker: Heaven took you alone. I wasn't ready.
Speaker: So many things I didn't say. Thought we had another day. Now I'm left here asking why. While you're somewhere in the sky.
Speaker: still hear you in my laugh. Still see you in every past. Little things don't feel the same.
Speaker: Since the day you slipped away. People say you're in a better place. But I trade that just to see your face. I'm trying hard to understand.
Speaker: God's timing in his hand.
Speaker: Oh, you're gone. Heaven took you. Oh, that's the truth. Left a hole I can't move through. Every night say your name.
Speaker: Hoping somehow it's the
Speaker: Maybe love don't end like this. Maybe it just changes distance.
Speaker: Heaven took you early, but not your light. I still feel you every night.
Speaker: And the memories, and the pain.
Speaker: I'll carry you to the end.
Speaker: I warned you. um That was oh the Waters family put that together for um May and she donated her organs.
Speaker: And of course, I'm not sure on some of them. I know. i i know when they all passed away, of course, but um I wasn't sure on if any of them were able to donate or not.
Speaker: But that was something that Brian wanted me to show and he sent that to me and I sent him a message back and he said, what you trying to make me cry? And i mean, I feel for all the families involved because this was an accident that should never have happened.
Speaker: No, let me see you here before bring everybody else on. um
Speaker: Yeah, I sent her a shirt. She's got to send me a picture back. I'm waiting on that one.
Speaker: Well, I just want to say i know that I speak for you know, all of us in the independent horror community and and all of them that, that we are just sending all of our love to Brian and his family. And, you know, also to you and your family, Mark, because it's been a hard season and we, you know, we all go through our seasons and we're only as good as, as you know, the people around us that comfort us. And you guys have always been amazing to us and we need to show up and be amazing for you as well.
Speaker: So, Just know that people are thinking of you all and your families. Thank you.
Speaker: There's one here.
Speaker: Hey, Chase. Chase Dudley.
Speaker: Oh, i know Adam. Got a fan there. a
Speaker: Adam's a good guy. Yes. Yes. He's got a great show, too, the Historically Haunted Vodcast that's on Thursday. Yep. It normally comes on before our show. Mm-hmm. Can we have a later topic, please? Yes. The new shirt.
Speaker: I like the new shirt. Yes. but My wonderful new shirt. Yes, your shirt is fantastic. so yeah Model that for me. Yes, it's blue. Oh, look at his camera. His camera's moving too. his camera moves with him.
Speaker: yeah Yeah. Wow. Look at all the technology. i know. I do. I like the blue. It looks really good. I'll sit back a little. The camera won't move then, i don't think.
Speaker: It's going a little bit. There you go. Now you can see the whole talking shit logo. Yeah. Yep, and then they're for sale. $25 free shipping.
Speaker: Nice. Yeah, i love the blue. It looks good. Yeah, when we first saw it, we weren't sure exactly how we were going to feel about it. But then
Speaker: what, Brian, let's get the show back on Oh, come on. and when people. um Oh, Adam, I had she's a great person to talk to. She was wonderful when she was on our show.
Speaker: Wow. Oh, okay. Now I know what Brian i wanted to do. Florida or not Florida. Yes. ah We play a game.
Speaker: Of course, you both know the game. You played it. um superintendent We read a headline and you tell us if it happened here in Florida or not. Of course, sometimes you never know.
Speaker: It could happen. All these could be all Florida that I picked this time. But I'm not Brian. I didn't do that. I'm terrible at this game, but I love playing it. So this time I might just be quiet and let you play.
Speaker: oh No, no, you've got to add in. You've got to add in in. In your case, Tom, I wanted to invite... in your case tom i want do invite people on We normally invite somebody on. We didn't have to for the veteran show because, well, there was a bunch of people there.
Speaker: So I invited another podcast on and they're called Certified Jarvis. And I'm going to bring one on first because, ah you know, she plays the game more than her husband. So and this is Alyssa.
Speaker: Hi, guys. The better half of Certified Jarvis.
Speaker: But there was a reason why I wanted to bring her on first before I brought her husband on. wanted to tell her happy birthday. Happy birthday. Yay! Happy birthday! Thank you.
Speaker: I love that it says better half on her little ID tag. Because she did. yeah. Now I'm going to bring on the one that, you know, gives me so much shit. Okay.
Speaker: the Hello, everyone. All right. The only half.
Speaker: The math ain't mathin'. He's wearing the green shirt. Yes. I only have a few of those left. Nice. what would it wants to see your ass sit down.
Speaker: i'm I'm trying to get the back half of the shirt. I think we got more than half there. Yeah, I'm sorry about that. Sorry about that. Yeah, right you just wanted to moon somebody.
Speaker: Well, um how this goes is in this case, I don't really have to do this. I do much on this part, but normally we read off a headline. each We take turns on if it happened in Florida or not. Florida. No big deal.
Speaker: The winner. Normally we send, you know, decals. Yeah, those are the best. Come on. This way.
Speaker: It's not very smart right now. I think this I think that yeah sign camera that's not very smart. Yeah, OK. I'm not touching the camera. The camera moves on its own now. But in this case, all you guys got these stickers or decals. I'm sorry, Brian.
Speaker: I knew that was going to happen. I almost said it to you with that wet noodle. They're great stickers.
Speaker: Every time I send a shirt out, I send extra stickers, decals, whatever. I call them stickers. Brian's not here. That's right. This is your show, Mark, tonight. You call them stickers. You call them stickers. Whatever you want, Mark.
Speaker: I got plenty of them. We only have five of the military's ones that left. Awesome. All right. I'm going to read off the first headline and then I'm going to have to you know't do this slow because well people in the comments have be playing too. So, all right. Oh, excuse me.
Speaker: All First one.
Speaker: um I'm going to put it on the screen also.
Speaker: Man tried or allegedly tried to escape police by hiding in a children's ball pit. Those are so gross. I'd rather get caught.
Speaker: Wasn't that, mark Mark, wasn't that you last weekend? no that was Brian. That's why he's not on the show. I'm going to say not Florida. Yeah, I'm going to say not Florida.
Speaker: I'm going with not as well. They even, that's an older one because even family guy in Big Bang Theory did that as a plot. yeah oh man all the comments are saying florida yeah they're all from florida you know sorry for mooning you did not mean to do that no it's all good this is a safe space it's okay it's a safe space not when florida is concerned so
Speaker: that fine if you
Speaker: so Is Brian not going to play?
Speaker: We took too long. Yeah. He's probably past his bedtime. Brian's still buffering. Past his bedtime? Oh, my. All right.
Speaker: That's sad. Did he get his milk and cookies before bedtime? No. No. Did somebody read him a story? oh Maybe.
Speaker: He's toy salesman. He's not Santa Claus. Oh, there he is. There, Florida.
Speaker: I don't smart salesmen. Sorry, Brian. Sorry. Okay. To read it again. man allegedly tries to escape police by hiding in a child's ball pit.
Speaker: That is not Florida. Yes! Go team. High fives all around. half double time and Ohio. I believe it.
Speaker: Responsible for such more people to space than any other state in the union.
Speaker: Ohio. oh Home of Elden Ring.
Speaker: Oh my God. Baptized gator inside a Waffle House with pitcher iced tea. That is Florida man. That is a fantastic question.
Speaker: i love that one. Florida. Inside a Waffle House with a pitcher iced tea. Florida man. That's the hero we need.
Speaker: That was very consider um ah considerate of him to try to save that gator soul like that. and And you know was Waffle House because they don't tell you if it's sweet tea or unsweet tea.
Speaker: You're getting straight sweet tea at Waffle House. are. You're getting a whole pitcher of diabetes at Waffle House. That's right. But at least he's saved.
Speaker: and Evidently, Florida has the meth belt version of Grizzly Adams. yeah
Speaker: Okay, I don't even have to read this out anymore. I can tell you where it's from, but I don't have to read it out because you guys have been saying it this whole time. It actually happened in Florida.
Speaker: Yeah. Everybody got that one. All right. ay Finally on the board. It's a good one. It's a good round. It's a good show.
Speaker: see good show Woman arrested after posing as a Costco sample lady and hands out free shots of tequila.
Speaker: I've heard of this one. oh but that That's some Wisconsin shit. That's not Florida. and the Yeah, not Florida. yeah not no I think it was Michigan.
Speaker: k nott i thought it was I thought it was like Texas. It might have been. I've heard of this one, though. This one was, yeah.
Speaker: It's not Florida. I'd be shocked if it is, though. Imagine being that kids may you be in that person's like son or daughter, and you're going to high school. Hey, man, went to Costco, and your mom got arrested, passing out booze.
Speaker: Is the party at your house this weekend? What's the trial? like We're going to your house because we know there's free liquor there. Brian, that's not your house on a Saturday night. That's your house on every night.
Speaker: All right. Woman arrested after posing as a Costco sample lady and hands out free shots of tequila.
Speaker: That? Oh, wait minute. Tom, what did you say? I said not Florida. but No, no Florida. Okay, well, everybody that says not Florida is wrong.
Speaker: whoa!
Speaker: Dang. I'm shocked. We had such a good thing going and then dang it. The streak is over. Oh, well. That's what happened.
Speaker: Let's see here. On top. Now we're not. Man calls police after his neighbor's cow is staring at him. Oh, my God.
Speaker: You guys have a lot of cows over there Florida?
Speaker: Are there any cows in Florida? Have the gators eaten at all? ah i think I mean, you guys got a two-story McDonald's. How do you have any cows left?
Speaker: Not Florida. Not Florida. Not Florida. or Not Florida. florida
Speaker: like there's a lot of paranoia going and on with that one like the dude is obviously tripping yeah well i mean yeah you know in florida you can get so many fucking different drugs out there helen they're they're not tipping cows out in florida they're tipping gators yeah see i mean like tip a gator No.
Speaker: They're so low. It's like trying to roll heavy luggage. but Tom, them crazy bastards are out there hunting your pythons in the Everglades.
Speaker: Luggage with teeth. Don't kick shame. Do not kick shame man's hobby. It would not surprise me, people fucking trying to tip a gator. It does not surprise me with that shit anymore.
Speaker: They roll. Gator roll. They roll. they don't They don't tip. They roll. they You're trying to get to see how many rolls you can get with it. It's like skipping stones. Mark, when you're fucking a high on shit down in Florida, does it really fucking matter if it's a roll or a fucking tip?
Speaker: oh Oh, you guys are high. Oh, my bad. Like, I mean, seriously, at at that point, it doesn't really fucking matter? All right, you got to put us out of our misery, Mark, is it Florida or not, Florida?
Speaker: Well, it's Wisconsin. Yeah. That's so. See, now we're back on top. That guy was probably fast. He obviously had something in his cheese.
Speaker: Yeah. All right. Last one.
Speaker: Police called after two men get into an argument over who owns a wild peacock. Florida.
Speaker: Police called after two men get into an argument over who owns wild peacock.
Speaker: All right. all right Due to the fact that there is a copious amount of meth in the second story of this.
Speaker: Because if you've ever met a wild peacock, it's going to let you know you don't own it. Right. it Loud. they are unworthy. I almost feel like that's a Cali one.
Speaker: There's wild peacocks in Cali. i i'm going with I'm going with Florida on this one because of the amount of crystal meth implied in the statement. Yes.
Speaker: Spicy. I think I'm going to go not Florida. Just to play devil's advocate here. I think I'm going to go not Florida as well. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: let's see what does everybody else say and yes we do have peacocks in florida i figured especially because uh brian just said you guys eat them for thanksgiving down the road from him why time would you eat a peacock for turkey dinner I don't know. Ask him. I don't. i meaned boring Are you out of cows and turkeys in Florida?
Speaker: actually We cook up gators. Yeah. I've had gators. Gator isn't so bad. isn't bad. I love it.
Speaker: All right. i Put you guys out of your misery for this one. Please. It's Florida. Yay! Team Tom, I failed.
Speaker: Way to go. Bravo. next Bravo. Game.
Speaker: Sorry, guys. The crystal ball, I mean, the crystal meth is never wrong. True that. Just to let know, I know now why Brian reads this stuff off instead of playing the game.
Speaker: He sucks at it.
Speaker: He's like me. I think me and Brian are like 0 for the century, Mark, in this game. Perfect. That's like when Mark was like, hey, do you and your wife want to play Florida, k not Florida? It's like, why don't you just ask my wife? Like, she's won two of them.
Speaker: Just won. Well, Stephen, you are you and your wife tied. The winner of the game is Tom. Well, I mean, the...
Speaker: I mean the real winner in our marriage is my wife because she married me so. know moment On that topic so forget it. You're just.
Speaker: um you're just scan your face it's cute that's average thing Dude, anyone in Florida that's on and numerical amounts of meth seeing Tom's just head like that is probably freaking the fuck out right now. Oh, yeah, they are. they theyre They are calling their dealer right now going, dude, I need a refund. What the fuck did you give me? All right.
Speaker: oh This is where I get to say goodbye to you guys. not to Not to Mary or Tom, but ah to Alyssa and Alyssa's not so better half. Cheeky or half? But before you guys go, please everybody to find you.
Speaker: And when is your next show? Yes, Alyssa, please tell the people where they can find us and what our next show is. the fifty So you can find us on um Facebook, TikTok.
Speaker: um I'm suddenly blanking on the rest, but you can find us tomorrow. Not Facebook. Okay, I messed up. Well, no, technically they can still find us on Facebook, just not live on Facebook.
Speaker: Where'd Tom go? I don't know. he disappeared into the brick wall. and Hey, Alyssa, do you want me to do this part? Go for it. We know you're kind of like the Brian of our show, but okay, here. So you can find us on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or anywhere else you listen to podcasts. um We are at 206 plays of all time.
Speaker: We want to thank everyone for that. We want to thank Mark. for allowing us to be on the show. you know, you have to beg me. Are you accepting an award right now? Yes, I am. Yes.
Speaker: Because no one else is going to want to work with me after this. Come on. When's your next show? Tomorrow at 7 p.m. is going to be our next show. It's going to be um classic films versus modern audiences.
Speaker: Could classic films... be able to translate to today's audience. Awesome. I might have to watch that. i want that list. Yeah.
Speaker: Okay. Well, then you're going have to come watch the show tomorrow, man. Because we don't write scripts. I know Mark and Brian. Oh, wait. Sorry.
Speaker: Can't spoiler alert. Mark and Brian do. and What? A list? do Do you see a list? This is just me. Yeah, I don't know. mark and mark but Mark always gets mad at me when I say that. It's a rumor, Mark. It's a rumor.
Speaker: you know We first started out doing that.
Speaker: But ah we we are looking at having guests more guests on our show. We recently had a Twitch streamer, which is our number one show so so far.
Speaker: on podcast. What am I doing?
Speaker: Yes, that's happened. Hey, you know, Dennis Miller said it best about Chris Farley on SNL. Did the new guy just show us his asshole? not new and oh Yeah, he's had his whole life.
Speaker: Sad but true, sad but true. So yeah, thank you, Mark, Mary Kate, Tom for allowing us to grace the show. ah Mark, I'll expect the check in the mail.
Speaker: Yes, thank you for playing. It was super fun, even though i lost, but I always do. so far You guys have a great show tomorrow, and have a great rest of your birthday, Alyssa. Yay!
Speaker: You have to spend it with him. Yeah. Exactly. That's the best part of waking up, is being next to me.
Speaker: Are you the Folgers in her cup? That's how it's... Thank you. i was just thinking that too. i that No, i I plead the fifth on that one. All right.
Speaker: aye See guys. Have a good night.
Speaker: And we're back. it going, Tom? It's going great. I've had some technical difficulties. Mark has been bearing with me awesomely, and i appreciate it. It's right. Oh, hell. That's what live is for.
Speaker: to have fun doing it. Yeah, fun. Yeah, fun. I think we need to find your version of fun. I loved that when he just disappeared.
Speaker: he was gone. He was gone.
Speaker: going to be a lot of fun. Circus is going to be fun. Daniel Coles is in the comments. He's in it as well. i saying gang and i have an amendment I have an amendment to make due to scheduling.
Speaker: We do not have Kane Hodder on satanic circuits scheduling conflict took him out and apparently Josh has got a some line.
Speaker: They're going to have brunch on Saturday to iron out the deal. And then he can let us know who it is. And he'll know once it's locked in. Cool.
Speaker: cool Well, we still get Martin Kleber. this out and is approve Marty is a hoot. I don't remember if you were in the cave when he was doing a spiel. it was ri Yeah, was in the tent, remember?
Speaker: that's right. You were doing that mattress actress scene. Yeah. Yes. yes yeah that was an ad-lib line i'm so glad they saved it because at the time yeah i'm glad that was it yeah and i was like oh yeah you want to hear something hear this and it stuck so it got in there find that in there yeah and i'm glad so so yes any other fun things or things you want to talk about or say or anything else
Speaker: a That concept, our previous guest or husband were talking about, the the conversion of older stories to a modern audience is a topic that just nestled the back of my head constantly.
Speaker: Like, there's some... that would be great to bring back, bring forward, there's obvious issues with them. Buck Rogers, ah Flash Gordon.
Speaker: You can't remake it because you're not going to do better music. Yeah. that's That's what holds back any retelling of some of these poems.
Speaker: comic book based type movies alan quatermain uh that's that's a great topic to try to redo but you know everyone oh are sean connery he's gonna talk in his scottish accent and he's just gonna be a gentleman and like he's james bond he's not yeah hi james there's other actors that can do these roles and Yeah, it's well, it depends on how you go about, you know, on how you do it. If you're going to bring it into the modern world, are you going to play it as if it was still in as if it was back then when it came on?
Speaker: know Some things they try to make it work in this world, this day and age, they can't make the same movie work the same way that they did back then.
Speaker: And it's not just the it's not just the music it's the acting the you know all the little stuff that they did back that would you get back up here
Speaker: the home thank that bad right now careful with that i hear that ai stuff getting out of control it's gonna lead you to your doom it is no well i got the camera free so that's okay There you go. It's got mind of its own right now. We'll see. But I mean, it just depends. And that would be an interesting topic alone.
Speaker: It is. It is. Because how do you explore it? How do you experiment with it? What compromises are you making to the story, to the environment, and to the available music, to the music?
Speaker: as an indie guy the music you can afford the music that fits you know and you know and is it gonna work which is is your audience going to say this next best movie or hey we like the other stuff better this direction you're going in with this one where you're gonna lose us you know right there's if we're doing go ahead I'm sorry. No, go ahead, Mark. Go ahead. It depends on which way you want to go about it. If you're going to do movies, you're going to do TV series.
Speaker: Because, I mean, to me, let's say Psycho. Let's play that one. The modern day ones that they have done doesn't hold a candle to what was done back then. There's lessons that were lost along the way. With modern TV...
Speaker: The writers that came to sitcom writing after Matt relied on how MASH was written.
Speaker: Cheers came off of the writers after the writers of MASH. the Then you go forward a few TV generations. Big Bang Theory is a comedy.
Speaker: It's very near in the same vein as the comedy of MASH.
Speaker: And there's so many generations gaps in the movie or in in the writing of TV writing. And so indie indie TV doesn't exist. There's no network out there that's going to say, hey, Tom, you're a creative.
Speaker: Give us a TV series. Here's a big wad of money. Make it happen. I wish. My fingers crossed. you know But the days of Steven Spielberg putting out amazing stories is over Yeah. It's not happening. There's too much commercial money. There's too much risk.
Speaker: And there's too much competition.
Speaker: So much competition to keep your eyes on 85% of the screen from Ready Player One that kind of watch this one show.
Speaker: But am I on Peacock? Am I on HBO Max? Am I on Amazon Prime? Am I on ABC? am i an ac there's There's networks that are competing against their own networks for numbers.
Speaker: Never mind competing against a completely different block down the street from Desert Studio. Right. That is true.
Speaker: Yeah. Indie movies are the only way you can afford to be creative and make a good lottery. Mm-hmm. who' I know I butchered up the English day on purpose.
Speaker: I butcher English all day long, so it don't matter. OK, good.
Speaker: oh Now, let me get off my soapbox. What's my next question? a Actually, that one that one was a good one, though.
Speaker: Yeah. um
Speaker: I got one thing. Oh yeah. You got a question? Yes. If you, if you could not be clown in your next movie, what character archetype would you be in? Would you rather play a bad style side of the role or the antagonist style side of the role?
Speaker: So are we talking that it would still be a clown film? I just couldn't be a clown. Or are we talking about a totally no different genre? No clowns. Completely out of it. No clowns. no No clowns.
Speaker: So well I do really want to play a villain that is not necessarily a comical, clowny, silly villain, even though I love them.
Speaker: But I would like to do more of a psychological villain in something more Serious, I guess. I guess that's a realm, because I'm a very happy bubbly person and I think that's what people mostly see me as. them But I feel like I have arranged to do something deeper and darker, um which I haven't gotten the opportunity to do that yet.
Speaker: So I would say definitely bad guy, definitely serious. Less comical.
Speaker: could see that. Yeah, maybe. Who knows? Who knows what's in here? We've seen i've seen the... Huh?
Speaker: There's an older movie in the 80s. Wait, Tom first. you name It has a... Go ahead. We're playing the go-ahead game. Yes. There's an older movie, late 80s, early 90s, a three-person cast, a small set piece called Cape Fear.
Speaker: Okay. Wasn't that based off a book? Yes. yeah The book was based on a true story. and And i i constantly think, how how can I retell that the other way?
Speaker: Because it's too easy way it is. Yes. And, and that's, this that's a story like it will, it will hold up if, if you just change some details,
Speaker: and the changing not so done the true change it from somebody else's perspective. Yes. And it's still that three person dynamic. It's still the boat.
Speaker: It's just, you're changing the rules. You're just, it could work. here I mean, they got the TV series, or sorry, TV series, the series out for it. I don't remember which platform it's on.
Speaker: think Amazon probably. Okay, what were you gonna say, Mark, your turn? Well, I was gonna say, you know looking at some of the pictures that you've done in the past, I could see you doing a different type of role other than you know a clown.
Speaker: I think you're more comfortable as a clown. So taking you out of your element and putting you in something completely different, um you know I could see you playing something different.
Speaker: It's funny because clowns just kind of fell into the to the mix. like I've never really been like super like hardcore teen clown. But I mean, I am now, obviously. um But yeah, it's funny with that because in the third one,
Speaker: I wasn't even a clown to begin with, that came later. um But it definitely is a role that you can relax in and have a lot more fun in because it is genuinely so like silly, evil, you know what I mean? So it is a very cozy role. I do enjoy it because I can just kind of just be ridiculous.
Speaker: It's not stressful, I guess. and Daniel puts in Obsession 2 at Mary-Kate. Oh, man. That would be so funny. i They're already... they're not they're not They haven't even finished collecting all the checks from Obsession. Right. yeah to they are jump into Yeah. They've got enough money to get Obsession 9. Yeah.
Speaker: yes Like Landon. The thing I like about what he's going to do with the series is it's not going to be... It's going to be like... pages You have a story here. The next one's not going to be the same story. It's going to be completely different.
Speaker: Will it have but the theme of the of the wish, though? See, that's cool. I like that they will hold to that, but it'll be completely different. Like that one little tie-in is super cool with a totally different story. I like that.
Speaker: That's cool. That works as Immich in a lot of things. Wishmaster, it worked for. um The Hitchhiker, it worked for. but no one ever heard of big two.
Speaker: As long as they don't get, you know, as long as they don't saturate it all together, you know, don't put it out this year, this next year, you know, give a little bit of time before you put the next one out.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. That's biggest thing is there's, where's our next one? Where's our next one? The the content clamoring, like the people that obsess over their one show and they want so many others. And it's like,
Speaker: When you have a voice, use it properly, not to create this fandom and saturate the market in this one topic, but allow them to create the best version of it, which takes time and practice, not bubblegum AI pumping it out.
Speaker: Correct. Well, I mean, that's what in the 80s, they used to do that with Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street. They would just call them out every year, every year. and One year. that's why they know they That's why that they got so... Weird. Weird, yeah.
Speaker: I mean, I still like them, but they got weird. Yeah, they're so classic, but yeah, I totally get that. It's so much better when things are marinated on and people take their time, and you can tell the ones where that happens and the ones where it doesn't.
Speaker: And, you know, a lot of movies now suck. Like, I'm really disappointed... I don't know, 60% of the time, 70% the time now. And it's it's just sad. 60% of the time, it works every time.
Speaker: That's right. It's the same thing over and over again. yeah the same if the formula works, and you know it's like watching the Saw movies. I actually like them.
Speaker: ah like i it's I did for a while and then I just thought. i did and then it was just the you're the gimmick. is Yeah. yeah and that's what like the like That's what really happened with the with the with the ah Nightmare, now ah not a Nightmare, Friday the 13th movies was it was just a collection of makeup effects and special effects gags yeah together.
Speaker: And I was like, this doesn't This isn't story. This is a special effects team's reel. and that you know And then when they get to that, when Saw got to that, it's just a special effects team's reel, it lost any gravity that it would have as a story telling storytelling element.
Speaker: I like the last Saw. I watched it because it's in between you know each what one and two, I think it is, or three and four, one and two. ah but I liked it better.
Speaker: It had a better story. Which one? It was the last one that they released. Is it the one where it's the actors? Where they kind of like flipped it around?
Speaker: loved that one. Is that the last one? we're It's in Mexico.
Speaker: And it follows them. is It's almost like breaking that reality where it's the actors and then he goes after them. ah Yes. Yes. Yes.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. I loved that. I thought that was very close. It varied from the you know the normal stories that were told and it's more about him.
Speaker: yes on what happened Yeah. So yeah. I like that one. i I confess I did not see that one yet. It's okay. We forgive you. It's a good one.
Speaker: i it's Everybody has their own. I do love the backstories of all those guys though and I hate that new ones don't have a good backstory.
Speaker: You mean there's gotta to be research? here
Speaker: Yeah. wanna know. I wanna know why. Why are psycho people psycho? I wanna know. what What was their breaking point? What? Yeah, what was their breaking point? Right.
Speaker: How far were they pushed mentally? Like like no there's there's a there's a drama out there. Michael Douglas falling down. that's it It's a horror movie.
Speaker: Dressed up as a drama. yeah ah know The older I get, the more I relate to that to that man. see where his break point is. You see what led up to it.
Speaker: If you take out all of the events and put in horror beats, yeah so it's ah it's ah it's a similar movie. It's a great horror movie. okay And it's it's just a good drama.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Well, it's past nine o'clock. Normally we ask you for an hour. ah you You got me anytime you want me. I'm just glad your show's getting back on the yeah on the train.
Speaker: You were first one to message me.
Speaker: I was like, okay, I'll You know, I had them on before. i knew how to, you know. And like i said we're going be doing um the veteran show in November. We're going to start. Yeah.
Speaker: yeah That was thunder. Cool. Technical difficulties approaching. don't know. I don't think so. So cool. you know i don't know i don't think those men removed but so cool It sucks when you go this way because of the fact that that's a door there. So I don't really like to go that way.
Speaker: And then I go this way and you can see some of my pictures over here. then if I stand up. Do you like horror movies? I'm sensing a thing. Well, if i if I stood up, you can see all my horror figures up here. um Yeah. A little bit, maybe.
Speaker: twelve i blame this all on my wife. She's the one that started buying it for me. Oh, let's see, it's good, though. Collecting stuff like that's fun. I love it. Mine's all in boxes right now, but... i that's amen That's a concept of a movie one day.
Speaker: The collector. No. The enabler. Oh, yeah. That would be my family, then. The enabler.
Speaker: what drove you this way? You were enabled to be driven this way. And nothing stayed in your way. You you weren't just entitled. i gave up drinking, but I had to have another hobby.
Speaker: That's good, though. See? it's ah It's all about the trade. Yeah. It was a lot. I mean, when you when when you shake monkey monkey's paw, you got to kind of know what you're getting.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. But all right. yes Like I said, we asked you for an hour. So we went over the hour mark. well you know I'm hoping to have you back on. once you We'll figure out ah you know something else we can do with having you on.
Speaker: um But where can everybody find you? ah You can find me on my IMDB page. you can Find my reviews my mute my videos, Tom Gore Painting Show on the YouTube.
Speaker: Just type in Tom Gore Painting Show. See, I'd known that, I would have. I didn't even think that. That's different topic. It's a completely different day for that. There's so many layers. I'm like an onion. Like an ogre. I like like an ogre they i like Uh, reach me on Facebook or the next time I'm on Mark's podcast, talking shit, running my mouth.

Speaker: and But the the question is, did you get them to, are they going to put face paint on? Of course. I only get you the ones that put their face paint on. well you said you said this time that are you weren't sure and if you could get them to do it or not oh yeah the ones oh yeah the ones that i that are that are coming they will because they live in it two of them anyway yes one of them wo i said it
Speaker: see what happens i get all excited more one you can actually say the one because he's been on the show before Who? The Joe Kelly? who or Yeah, Joe Kelly. yeah You had the other one. um Oh, hell, I can't remember. that right now Yeah, Willie.
Speaker: Willie Vodka, yes. And he lives in that mask. I don't even know what he looks like under that thing. he just Nobody knows what he looks like without it. No. So, yeah, we'll have a good time. It'll be a fun birthday. It'll be my and be microphone forty nine Spooky, scary clowns and balloon animals.
Speaker: It works for me. Yeah. All right. This is where going end the show. um Normally, this is where I interrupt Brian when he'll say start to say, you know, this spew about, you know,
Speaker: you know, have a good night and all that. And then I stop him, I say, okay, who's gonna be on next week? And our guest host will be, i don't know if it's the whole podcast or if it's just Bill, but on Another Shot Podcast is what he's called.
Speaker: Awesome. and And our guest is Daniel Coles. Yay. And well, that's where i leave us. i like Like I said, it it's going to take me a little bit to get used to saying this. By time I get used to saying some of the stuff, Brian will be back.
Speaker: Hopefully. so enjoy Enjoy getting to talk now. This time. ah brian like Brian, when he does it, he's thinking as he's talking, he's thinking of another question as he does it. i'm not I'm not like that.
