So I'm going to tell you some lessons I learned from watching this documentary from just analyzing Jake Paul.

But Jake Paul, he was, as we know, the social media superstar, right?

They were on Vine.

They were huge on YouTube.

I'm going to talk specifically about four lessons that I thought of in particular as I was watching this documentary.

Okay, but here's four things I took away from it.

Number one, we need to declare what we want in life.

Hey, if you have been following Jake Paul, you know he was on social media.

He was on Vine, YouTube.

And then all of a sudden, he gets challenged to this boxing match.

And he just says, I'm going to become a boxer.

And what did he do after that?

He went all in, burned the bridges, started boxing like crazy, moved to Puerto Rico, trained every day, just took on that persona.

And that was his new identity, is that he's a boxer.

And people gave him heat.

That's part of it.

He caused a lot of controversy, right?

People didn't think he was a real boxer.

But now look at him.

He's beaten all these MMA fighters.

He narrowly lost to an actual professional boxer, Tyson.

No, not Tyson Fury.

I don't follow boxing a ton, but I do follow Jake Paul more now.

But the point is he just went all in and took on the persona.

So if you are new in sales, if you are new to solar or if you're experienced, remind yourself you need to be all in on this.

You need to take on that persona that this is my identity.

I'm going to eat, sleep, breathe it.

My numbers aren't where they want to be.

This is a profession that

This is something you don't have to go to school for, but if you do not treat it like something you need to go to school for and devote your life to it, then you're selling yourself short.

You're not going to get the results that you want and deserve.

So that's the first lesson I learned just from...

seeing how much of that persona he took on of becoming a boxer.

And number two, you got to care more than anybody else.

No one cares more about your success than you do, right?

And I think you see that in Jake Paul.

He cared more than anyone else about his success.

And what's cool is he also cared about his brother's success a ton in the documentary on Netflix.

He, when they had their first fight with, I think it's KSI, those YouTube guys, they've

fought his brother Logan he lost his match and Jake literally broke down in tears because he cared so much about winning he's such a competitor and he wanted to see his family his brother succeed so two lessons there number one he cared about his own success but number two the people around him I guess in this case family his brother he cared so much about that that's he started you know he burst in tears he was crying and

And we don't need to cry for teammates success.

But do we care that people go solar?

A lot of little things in that.

Number one, do we care that people are going solar?

Do we care that we're actually helping the planet, that we're helping people save money?

Do we have a deep belief in that?

If we don't, we got to check ourselves.

And maybe you're running a team.

Maybe you are working with your brother, with family.

But really, we're all brothers and sisters in solar cells, right?

So if you are running a team or part of a team, do you care about your team members success?

You don't have to break down in tears, but good leadership principle, care about others success.

And then one of my favorite things, one of my favorite scrolls from the greatest salesman in the world, great book, is you need to have a deep care about the people you're prospecting.

You have the deep belief that you love them and are helping them because that's how you're going to achieve maximum results.

So that's number two, care more than anyone else.
Marketing and Ideal Prospect

And then the other point is Jake Paul.

He is an incredible marketer.

If you have not, if you're anywhere online, if you go on the ESPN app, Jake Paul is everywhere these days.

And he is just insanely good at marketing.

What's incredible is he comes off as this like stupid YouTuber kid, this idiot off social media.

But as I was watching this, I'm like, well, this kid is a little literal genius.

It's like the marketing genius, the skills he has to draw so much attention, to create so much controversy that people want to watch him.

And even just his fights.

He was saying he broke records for his first fight with the other YouTuber.

I think they set the record for Moles viewed or Moles pay-per-view sold for an amateur boxing match.

And this guy, he had no boxing experience.

He just took on the persona and started doing it.

Broke all these records.

Because he knows how to market himself.

And that's half the reason he's been able to have success with boxing.

That's why he's making as much as he is because he knows how to draw eyeballs.

And you can go watch the documentary, but in it, he talks about how it was a planned thing to get these UFC fighters.

He fights all these ex-UFC fighters, if you haven't been following.

Hey, Ben Askin, the first guy he fought, he created this whole thing, how he's going to go after him.

the retired UFC stars.

And in doing that, guess what?

He brings in that entire audience, all people that follow UFC, all people that follow MMA.

People were saying boxing is a dying sport.

He just brought in the entire MMA, UFC market because they're like, wow, these are stars.

I want to see what he can actually do against these people.

They're like, no way is this guy legit.

He took on the villain persona and just drew in millions and millions of eyeballs doing it.

So I know we're not all marketing insular.

It's a good idea to learn marketing.

But for you, what is your ideal prospect?

Jake Paul, he brought in all people that follow UFC.

So for you, as you're out there, maybe knocking on doors or selling, you should keep in mind, who is my ideal person to sell to?

We got asked this actually in one of our team correlations.

What's our preferred person to sell to?

And that's marketing, right?

If you can know that,

Can you maybe target those people in the city you're working?

Can you, I know if you're out knocking doors, you're not always going to be able to go to that preferred person.

But for me, it's, I know I love selling to divorced moms that they're the only decision maker.

And hey, I know I'm a good looking guy.

Maybe that's part of it.

But I just like the fact that usually they're looking to save money.

And there's only one decision maker.

I don't close all of them, but if I had to pick one person to sell to, it would probably be divorced moms.

Because I've noticed that I've sold a lot of them in my career.

So that's the third lesson I learned from

And last but not least, get multiple coaches.

When Jake Paul took on this boxing personality, decided he's going to be a boxer.

In his documentary, he has like five different coaches that come on documentary.

He has one for like his healing, you know, as he's like recovering between training sessions.

He has basically like a meditation coach, all these different coaches, obviously, you know, like a trainer, athletic trainers, boxing trainer, all these different people.

And I'm sure not all of us have the budget of Jake Paul.

He's probably spending millions a year on these coaches, right?

to make these improvements because guess what?

There's an extreme ROI for us when we invest in ourselves.

So you need to make that investment.
