DailySaintsPod: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and welcome back to the... Daily Saints pod with Zak and Greg. I am your host, Zach. As always, joined by the illustrious and wonderful, wonderful, illustrious, and other adjectives are available, Mr. Greg How you doing buddy, right?

Greg: Yeah, I'm alright, mate. It's been a bit of a day. It's been busy. It's been... lots of of stuff. not related to football going on. so Just... Cheers. Just... Surviving, innit?

DailySaintsPod: Something like that. So, mate, do you know what today's episode is?

Greg: Championship Roundup.

DailySaintsPod: I lied to you. It is episode 500 and I have prepared a special recap of all of our...

Greg: No!

Greg: Oh. Wow.

DailySaintsPod: of all of our episodes. And when I say that I lied, I literally said to you that we were doing the championship roundup.

Greg: I can't believe...

DailySaintsPod: Don't worry, I've prepared everything. And what I actually did was spend a vast majority of my evening yesterday putting together this episode.

Greg: Oh, mate, I can't believe we've made it to 500 episodes. that

DailySaintsPod: That is... crazy yeah I noticed I noticed it come up yesterday and I was like wow this is a big deal and I just you know as much as a championship roundup would be lovely i just thought it'd be good to take a trip down memory lane right back to the start of our podcast or specifically every hundred episodes of every hundredth episode up to you today.

DailySaintsPod: So I've got...

Greg: Okay.

DailySaintsPod: some notes that i've i've gone through and i've listened to a lot of the episodes and i've i'm fascinated by how much has changed and how much of our opinions have also been fluid but also How much you? it's just the same and how many things stay the same So we can do it in either... We can look at 400, 300, 200 or 100, or we can start right back at episode 100 and work our way back up to the modern era. So that part I'm going to leave up to you.

DailySaintsPod: But obviously you are aware of none of this. So that's the one bit of choice you do get.

Greg: Uh... start at the very start and work our way to more recent. Seems like a good way to go.

DailySaintsPod: Perfect. So yeah, obviously, as we just discussed. Episode 500. So let's go back to episode 100, Greg.

DailySaintsPod: uh my favorite thing about this video is that it's in portrait mode because clearly we were that Although we've done a hundred podcasts, we were still pretty bad at figuring out the technical side of things.

DailySaintsPod: And we managed to just upload all of our YouTube stuff.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: in a... in a portrait format rather than a landscape they wondered why we never got any views on youtube uh it was actually supposed to be greg a tactics tuesday now long long term listeners will remember

Greg: Oh.

DailySaintsPod: that when we first started this podcast, we were part of a wider like wider network. uh called gspn who are we who we are forever grateful for for giving us a kind of like a start and and starting this passion for it

DailySaintsPod: But they had set things they wanted us to do. So that's why we had a lot of crossovers. And one of those was Tactics Tuesday, which we always struggled with. And you'll laugh, Greg, because this was a Tactics Tuesday with which we entirely replaced with a transfer episode. And it might have actually been...

DailySaintsPod: the first transfer episode we did in like in this way because it was the it was the start of the...

Greg: Hmm.

Greg: Yeah. Bye.

DailySaintsPod: 2025 January window, Greg. it was This was recorded.

Greg: That is... Crazy.

DailySaintsPod: On the 31st of December 2024.

Greg: That is... Look, I mean... To be fair, we were set up for failure in the first place because... How are you supposed to talk about tactics every Tuesday when your manager's Russell Martin?

Greg: Look! Are we passing around at the back a bit more?

DailySaintsPod: Right.

Greg: And then... And then then there were some more passes around the back. And then we went to pass it around the back, but actually we gave the ball away and conceded a goal. And then we went back to passing the ball around the back some more.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah. i think I think that's the thing, right? And obviously it's because our network was originally based off of an NFL network where they would do that. There would be tactical plays that would change for every opponent.

DailySaintsPod: But as we know with Russell Martin now, that that was never going to change. And the few games he did change anything, one, he did win at Wembley and everyone else, like the time that, you know, Cornet started against Bournemouth.

Greg: Hmm.

DailySaintsPod: It just didn't work.

Greg: Yeah, I mean, I think it's quite well documented that the reason it changed at Wembley was not Thank you to Russell Martin.

DailySaintsPod: So...

Greg: It was the players deciding. not to do what they had been told to do. Right.

DailySaintsPod: yeah Well, he got the credit either way, didn't he?

Greg: Hmm.

DailySaintsPod: So...

Greg: Maybe that was when the writing was on the wall.

DailySaintsPod: you

Greg: to be fair.

DailySaintsPod: Chris. Christmas, at Christmas period, mate. So you were on tip run number three. And we were actually discussing Ivan Djuric potentially coming. down to the championship with us.

DailySaintsPod: Right.

Greg: It's crazy.

DailySaintsPod: That was literally one of the things we were talking about in this episode because he had become the new manager he was in. We still had the slight amount of hope, but when I tell you that that you didn't. uh yeah That shows you how devastating that season was.

DailySaintsPod: So obviously we talk about who potentially could be leaving. And in that January window, it was a Ronnie Edwards to QPR, Ben Brereton -Diaz to Sheffield United, Dom Ballard to Cambridge United, Sam Amo to Strasbourg, where he then stayed, Arma, who went to West Brom, which we all kind of forgot about, that that was a thing that happened.

DailySaintsPod: And also Baz to Standard Liese, because, you know, we had Ramsdale at that point.

Greg: Hmm.

DailySaintsPod: We were... hoping to keep Kyle Walker Peters but he obviously did not and he went for a free and you know we were discussing whether or not we should cash in or you know which which ultimately probably would have been the better thing to do.

DailySaintsPod: However, when we talked about coming in and transfers coming in, you said, and I quote, "I'm honestly in the boat, Zak, where I don't think anyone can keep us up. And I'm the optimistic one!" which truly shows you how in the trenches we were in January of 2025.

Greg: Yeah. I mean... it It was all but confirmed. at that point Right, like, it it was not...

DailySaintsPod: Basically, we we we had we had no hope.

Greg: It was not news to anybody. Uh... And it is what it is. But as is the way with football, mate, it's...

DailySaintsPod: Yeah.

Greg: It's those down moments that make the highs even mightier. uh

DailySaintsPod: 100, 100%.

Greg: can't have the good without the bad so we wouldn't have it any other way, really, would we?

DailySaintsPod: We were so... We were so miserable. We discussed if it was actually worth fighting to get 19th or 18th place because that way we could try and get slightly better financial rewards because we knew how bad it was going to be.

DailySaintsPod: We talked about potentially Bella Kotchap coming into the side because that seemed to to be the answer because Stephens was still suspended so we didn't know who was going to come back into the central line.

Greg: I'm gonna rip a lot. Yeah. Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: You also talked about the impact of the new Brazilian players that were joining us, Juan and Wellington. one who Never played for us at Wellington, who still does. There was actually early discussion then as to whether Tall Paul would be the answer.

Greg: Spoiler alert, no.

DailySaintsPod: No. And even then, you knew we were down. Here is one of my favourite parts. Obviously, we had a game that was upcoming on the Saturday. And you said that two bets you want to put on this Saturday. What do you think the first one is, mate?

Greg: It's got to be Flynn Downes to get booked.

DailySaintsPod: Flynn Downes to get booked, correct. And the other one was Bella Kotchap to get injured.

Greg: It wasn't far wrong.

DailySaintsPod: We were... you know optimistic that maybe we get Sam Amo back at some point we even talked about how much of a big deal it was that Fraser signed and then he we just never seem to see him again which didn't really changed much after this game. He played a couple of times for Will Still and then off to Australia.

DailySaintsPod: But yeah yeah, the desperation we had was the the only motivating factor that we probably had. to get anyone to come to our squad was they get to say. They played in the Premier League. as a motivator. Do you remember the January signing that we made that year, Greg?

Greg: It was... Really? really... This boom. It was... It was...

DailySaintsPod: It was... Albert Grønbæk.

Greg: That's right, yeah. Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: we haven't had We haven't had much luck with Danish players.

Greg: He played once, right?

DailySaintsPod: he Like once or twice that he picked up an injury.

Greg: It played... Just that once.

DailySaintsPod: And then a vast majority of his Instagram posts were just him in Southampton with his girlfriend, which has got to be a weird six -month holiday.

Greg: Yeah.

Greg: Mm.

DailySaintsPod: So yeah, that was that was episode 100. Fast forwarding, Greg, we get to episode 200. You've still got your your janky camera. I've got to talk about our audio quality and our camera quality at this time was not.

Greg: Ha!

DailySaintsPod: was not fantastic, but it helped us learn a lot.

Greg: we've come a long way

DailySaintsPod: We have come a long... It's really made me appreciate how far we've come. in For episode 200, we had Oscar as well, who was a previous co -host of ours.

Greg: Eh?

DailySaintsPod: He joined during the GSPN days. uh and yeah the first thing i mentioned is that it was the the podcast that kept me going. And cakey cake, cakey cake. like positive about. football after the horrendous Premier League season that almost just ended. It was May 15th, 2025.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: And my exact quote is, thank you for this daily podcast so I can continue to be tortured by the football club that I love.

Greg: If only you knew what was to come.

DailySaintsPod: Oh yeah. Even better. is uh We discussed Ben Brereton Diaz and that it would be weird if he came back because we basically just forgot he existed.

DailySaintsPod: because he went to Sheffield United in that January window. And then it was like, oh yeah, he's due back soon. Because that was another thing we talked about, for his potential return.

Greg: continued to be entirely forgettable in both his time with saints And.

DailySaintsPod: I'd do Chris Wilder.

DailySaintsPod: Well, it's it's just funny. It's gone super full circle because now he's actually back at Sheffield United.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: We talked about potential future of Rambo, which is really interesting.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: to frame in the current context because obviously we didn't know what was going to happen to him that summer but we assumed he'd leave and he did he went to Newcastle but we said he's like At the time, bear in mind this is, he was almost too good for mid -table teams.

DailySaintsPod: But... like not and good enough for like the big t big teams which means that surely he just ends up getting loaned out to another team that he picks up another relegation with. To which he responded, "It would be really funny for him to go to Manchester United and get his fifth relegation under his belt because that was during their season when they really struggled.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: So, yeah, well, I say really struggled with that.

Greg: That would have been funny.

Greg: Eh.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: We had... Two games to go, Greg. We did not discuss that game once. We said we'd talk about it more in the preview, but we were so over it. Like we were already.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: I think in summer, 100%. We were getting hyped. for the South Coast Derby. And one the last thing we mentioned in that episode was it's going to be pretty cool to play the last ever Premier League game at Goodison Park. And, you know, there was a bit of optimism around the fact that, you know, it might ruin Everton's party. We did not.

Greg: Yeah. Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: So, yeah.

Greg: Yeah, I mean, that that season words was tough. Tough going, but we stuck through it. And... it's all there to be listened to. the the real group therapy session we managed to go through every single day.

DailySaintsPod: it's it was It was tough, man. okay kit It's kind of wild how how much. Right, so... Fast forward, episode 300. We are still still part of GSBN at this point.

DailySaintsPod: I think we know we've got our better cameras, we've got our better microphones, and it was a matchday preview, Greg. uh if i you know i don't know what matchday preview do you guess it was if i said it was will still era

Greg: Oof.

DailySaintsPod: and you we really thought it would be a good match, and it was at home.

Greg: God, was it that woeful Swansea game?

DailySaintsPod: So it's not a South Coast derby.

DailySaintsPod: First time. First time. It's incredible.

Greg: Yeah. the beginning of the The beginning of the downfall.

DailySaintsPod: As I said, great.

Greg: ...of...

DailySaintsPod: It was, it was.

Greg: I will still.

DailySaintsPod: Oh, it was. we actually joked about whether or not, like, it's like, I can't be on the firing line yet in this episode. it was take three of the recording so by that point the energy was kind of frantic.

DailySaintsPod: I like that we still have that when we've had to record multiple times.

Greg: Hehehehehehehehe. Okay.

DailySaintsPod: the The international break is over. I was able to figure out about when it was before I looked at the date because I realised I didn't have my Nagoya Grandpa shirt. It's been really fun to see the changing of my living room in that kind of three, two and a half year period. Just things being moved and moved back out of the way for Christmases, etc. Okay.

DailySaintsPod: So... What? the The AI said that Saints were to win with both both teams to score.

Greg: 2 -1. laughter

DailySaintsPod: No. What do you think, for for me, this is quite an optimistic storyline, what do you think I thought?

Greg: Peace.

DailySaintsPod: the scoreline was going to be.

Greg: Uh... 2 -0.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah.

Greg: sites.

DailySaintsPod: No. But that is funny because... Mine was 3 -1 because I assumed we'd always concede because of what was happening with the fact that we were conceding every game.

Greg: That's fair. Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah. i read it I wanted it to be 3 -1 because I was really desperate. for a comprehensive win. which we were yet to have, if you remember rightly.

Greg: Yep.

DailySaintsPod: We just hadn't won. convincingly.

Greg: decisively, yeah.

DailySaintsPod: Correct. And the the one -all draws... were really starting to get to me. And that became very obvious. So...

DailySaintsPod: My original prediction when you asked me where are those goals coming from, which is a phrase that I should have been expecting by this point. was three Southampton players, because clearly I was caught off guard, before eventually ending on Ryan Manning, Shea Charles and Adam Armstrong.

DailySaintsPod: which obviously... Yeah, that's not so bad. fair pick.

Greg: Yeah. Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: What do you think your prediction was?

Greg: I don't know, 4 -0. Five nil, something in crazy.

DailySaintsPod: No. I think you were annoyed because I might have taken your prediction. So you decided that we were going to keep a clean sheet. And hilariously,

Greg: Right.

DailySaintsPod: 2 -0 is what you decided, which is sort of where you started.

Greg: 2 -0. That's fair. Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: So who do you think that you potentially had as your goal scorers, Greg?

Greg: oh God, I don't even know, thinking back that far. I'm guessing Adam Armstrong made the cut. Uh, Probably Tom Fellows.

DailySaintsPod: Correct, that's true

Greg: hey

DailySaintsPod: I am genuinely impressed because you are not a man whose memory you are known for. However, you said Arma and Tom Fellows, because if I keep predicting it every week, I need to keep up the prediction of predicting every week.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: It's finally going to happen.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: which is hilarious because it took like another. almost hundred and something like 80 episodes before you finally were able to predict Kylian Mbappé was going to get a goal.

Greg: It's all my fault. What did I do?

DailySaintsPod: And you actually didn't predict when he scored.

Greg: if

DailySaintsPod: So...

Greg: yeah

DailySaintsPod: You basically were predicting every time. since he joined us that he was going to score. And so, obviously...

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: that long uh and yeah obviously that ten that ended up being a game that... That was just horrific. We completely dominated the game. and did nothing at the end i think we just never thought we'd ever win another game at that point right

Greg: It was, it was. Kind of the... epitome of the Will Still era where actually performance wise and like gameplay wise and tactics wise it wasn't a bad game but nothing that we could do.

Greg: was going to get that ball in the back of the Swansea net. It was determined to just never happen. And... Look, whether that's just the like...

Greg: percentage of edge lost due to mentality or some kind of voodoo curse who knows but Thank God we got past that.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah, but again, what's hilarious about that episode is we're like, oh, there's already going to be... so you know If they don't start to do something soon, there's going to be rumblings about us firing him. But we'd obviously... What I could tell from that is we'd become so jaded with like...

DailySaintsPod: how long they kept Russell Martin in the Premier League. season.

Greg: Hmm.

DailySaintsPod: We just assumed they would never be decisive again.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: We were just like, well, I guess we're keeping him for the season. So I feel like me and you were just like.

Greg: Whereas actually, it was only what... three or four games after that. where we actually got rid.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah, it was very it was it was literally So it was like a couple of weeks later. So, yeah. that that was That was episode 300, mate. So... Obviously, episode 400. We're on episode 500 now.

Greg: Mm.

DailySaintsPod: Can you guess roughly where it would be? What do you think it would be?

Greg: So like halfway between the Swansea game and here has to be. I mean, it's just got to be deep in the Tonda run of wins, right?

Greg: We've got to be flying absolutely high, maybe even still with a glimmer of hope of automatics.

DailySaintsPod: Yep.

DailySaintsPod: Yes. That is... Episode 400. Sunday lunchtime in Coventry, game week 37.

Greg: Oof. Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: We were currently in an 11 -game unbeaten streak. And yeah, we obviously see had a big discussion around that. It was the first game where...

DailySaintsPod: after obviously the the first time we played them. And it seemed to be where we we started to realise that Coventry fans hated us long before Middlesbrough fans.

Greg: Yeah.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: But that kind of has been forgotten now because of Spygate, which is understandable.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: But it was a very bizarre... I don't know if it's just because they saw us as like a threat or as they saw us as one of the big boys that have come down that might just go straight back up. Either way, I distinctly remember us getting a lot of stuff thrown at us.

Greg: I don't even know if it was necessarily just pointed towards us, mate, as they were just like quite a salty bunch all round from what I gather.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah.

Greg: seem to rob quite a few other fan bases the wrong way and not just us from

DailySaintsPod: Bye.

Greg: from several of the social media groups that I'm a part of to to witness, so...

DailySaintsPod: They're learning the hard way what happens, right?

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: that's why That's why we just have no soul or hope anymore, apparently, especially at this time. I wasn't too too confident because I was very aware that if we were going to have a slip -up... I thought that would be the game, right? Because we'd we'd already slipped up against them once. We didn't get an opportunity to win against them.

DailySaintsPod: and subsequently we we drew. So the AI, that by this point, you'd started doing your AI spiels. that was predict your prediction market.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: you know You'd moved on from but your potential bet builders to whatever weird AI you'd found now. It had said that Coventry was either going to win 2 -0 or, what do you reckon the other score is?

Greg: 2 -1.

DailySaintsPod: Of course.

DailySaintsPod: Never without a doubt.

Greg: weight in gold will will suggest as a scoreline because statistically speaking i guess that is more likely than any other outcome.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah. Exactly that.

Greg: And that's why maths isn't always the answer.

DailySaintsPod: So...

Greg: you know

DailySaintsPod: No. bassa That's a very big philosophical debate for a not a football podcast.

Greg: it's

Greg: Never trust statistics.

DailySaintsPod: No, I went.

Greg: but

DailySaintsPod: I think initially for one all, but I didn't want to be depressing because by this point you'd now instilled more hope into me than I'd ever previously had supporting Saints, clearly.

Greg: I mean, an 11 -game unbeaten run, I can't take the full credit for it, right? Like, the performance is on the pitch, too.

DailySaintsPod: No, that that that that helped. But... The Coventry game, I think, was the one I was most concerned by. But I still, after saying that the draw was ridiculous, I predicted a 1 -0 win with a dozy scoring.

Greg: Hmm.

DailySaintsPod: So what do you reckon that you predicted?

Greg: are something absolutely insane. uh three or four nil. Probably.

DailySaintsPod: No, like again, this is you've got this conservative 2 -0 where you're like, well, clean sheet, obviously.

Greg: Oof.

DailySaintsPod: We're going to win. But I can't have the same scoreline as Zak. That's ridiculous. Let's just go one over.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: So who did you think those goals were coming from?

Greg: In the middle of the run, I mean, I probably went for one each for Stewart and Larin.

DailySaintsPod: Interesting. No, you said Larin, but you were emboldened by my choice of a dozy. So you also said a Edozie

Greg: Nice.

DailySaintsPod: Amen.

Greg: I mean, that was probably right around that West Brom game where he did put that absolute peach of an assist in for Laren. So, you know, the memory's riding high of that he can play football and do stuff, which...

DailySaintsPod: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: Mm -hmm.

Greg: you know, shout out and reminder that he is still a good footballer, even though there are improvements to be made, right?

DailySaintsPod: Yeah, that's that's the thing, right? Is that we we'd started to see him a little bit more. He'd come in. We would still... we still have this like bounce of confidence that if we could carry this on i think it was probably truly after this game of how how much of a good performance it was to go away to a team that were top of the leaderboard and get a win do you remember how we won that game, Greg. Do you remember the scoreline?

Greg: I don't. No I do not.

DailySaintsPod: I know. I knew that would be a bit hard be difficult.

Greg: if

DailySaintsPod: We won 2 -1, actually. They they scored like in the last so kick of the game. They scored an equaliser that didn't matter. We had two goals, one from Flynn Downs, one from Matsky.

DailySaintsPod: So that was, you know, it was obviously...

Greg: Nice. Unlikely sources.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah, neither of us.

Greg: maybe is that the one when Is that the goal where Matsuki scored it and like in real time it looked like it bounced off his foot but actually when you kind of analyse it frame by frame he very carefully moved his foot at the perfect time to point it towards the goal.

DailySaintsPod: Maybe.

Greg: And so...

Greg: if

DailySaintsPod: But this was a match preview. So we didn't discuss the goals yet.

Greg: Who knows?

DailySaintsPod: But I did look up the score and I did look up who wins.

Greg: Who knows?

DailySaintsPod: One, sorry.

Greg: Nice.

DailySaintsPod: So yeah, that that was that was our 400th episode. our 300th episode, our 200th episode. and our 100th episode. and I just wanted to kind of take you know some time to look back and realise how much the journey of being a Saints fan has been since then.

DailySaintsPod: you know

Greg: It's crazy Been on a wild ride.

DailySaintsPod: We... It's been a really wild... Again. it would be lovely to get 18th or 19th we'd maybe get slightly more money and since then we've had so much happen.

Greg: Just think, right? Like when we... When we actively started the podcast, we were freshly promoted. fresh off of that trip to Wembley, full of excitement from the Premier League season.

Greg: and very rapidly came crashing back down to Earth and the reality of what that meant, and then suffered through... i mean I mean, the torturous season. We were basically relegated by November and the had to acknowledge that and speak about it every single day. And then...

Greg: thought through it and then you know, get back to the championship and I remember at the end of that season, the discourse was, oh, we actually prefer... the football in the championship is more enjoyable, and which is still a point I make. And actually, despite hoping that we win the league and get promoted this year.

Greg: There is a part of me that's like, next year will be rubbish though, won't it? Sorry.

DailySaintsPod: I don't know. There's been a lot of a lot of promoted teams are doing a lot better than expected, right? whole However, it depends how you go up.

Greg: Yeah. just Scar tissue issue of of the last time we tried at the Premier League doesn't exactly inspire the the same hope that some of these teams are.

DailySaintsPod: Clearly...

Greg: Oh. putting out there for display but i mean that's a problem for another time the the task at hand is enjoy this season and

DailySaintsPod: It is a problem for another time. And it's enjoying this season. It's not being devastated that, you know, one of our best players is going to go on a free.

Greg: Please spin.

DailySaintsPod: And and we're we're trying to clamber together a fence. Like, but you know, this is times where we're talking about how angry we are at Flynn Downs because he decided he wanted to go to Whipswitch because we had no idea what was going on.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: As far as it looked like, it would say a player throwing his toys out the pram because he wasn't number one anymore. And that was just it was just a little bit miserable. It was every week. It was like, what 20 -minute period can we hope for?

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: Half the players disappeared.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: And somehow we still continue to do a daily podcast. but I think that's incredible.

Greg: That was... I just think it was our... Our only hope of survival was our... or like i say our group therapy sessions where we kind of vent it out to each other and to all of our listeners and and make that that case along the way but It's been a great journey.

DailySaintsPod: Yeah. Still more to come?

Greg: 500 episodes, I just can't believe it, mate. I want to thank you.

DailySaintsPod: So long.

Greg: for for all of your work and commitment and all of the stuff you do behind the scenes and all of the putting up with me you do for this show, because it's not easy. We we don't always make schedules work or or run.

Greg: You know, we run like English trains and not like Japanese trains, so... It's a...

DailySaintsPod: Mate, I got some news for you there. it's It's not, it's just English trains. Like European trains run fine too.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: like But I appreciate that. And likewise, again, this wasn't something that I ever thought I would do. This wasn't something that was on the cards or the radar for me ever.

DailySaintsPod: you you will you know the first couple of episodes of this podcast i wasn't a part of uh you know it was you

Greg: Mm.

DailySaintsPod: and another person who, you know, joins you with GSPN. And... very very quickly the commitment was just too much and you turned around and i said to you I promised I would come on board if the person you were with woodstep was going to step down or leave, thinking absolutely nothing of it.

DailySaintsPod: And within a week or so, you were like, please, mate.

Greg: Yeah.

DailySaintsPod: You were doing solo episodes. You were doing them wherever you could to make sure that you know that we we could try and sort of sort of like start this off and make it work.

Greg: Crazy.

DailySaintsPod: And then down the line, you know it's the fact that... We both have this passion and the commitment. and you know it's it's grown our friendship has grown around it even more i talk to you more than my wife most days like i tried to I tried to avoid talking you to you today because I didn't want to do the thing where I ruined this surprise.

Greg: but

DailySaintsPod: Because I know... But I'm a person that...

Greg: Uh,

DailySaintsPod: almost wants to give the present before the present is due. so

Greg: Nice. it's It's been brilliant, mate. And look here's to 500 more.
