urfavoritecoastersux: I'm Zach and I have something interesting to talk about this and episode.
beb: I'm Ben and I have something slightly less interesting to talk about this episode.
urfavoritecoastersux: I mean, look, you normally have the interesting stuff. I'm normally in the role of speculative asshole, so.
beb: Yeah, I mean yours is pretty cool. i It's flipped. After a couple moves, you get to.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, right. After after this many years of doing this show.
beb: Hell yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: I mean cats out of the bag a little bit at this point if you uh follow us at all on our discord um and you definitely should join let's get the plug in right at the top please turn the parish social relationship into a regular one we're friends with everybody that uh hangs out there because uh everybody there is cool I don't know I vouch for them all
beb: Yeah, if you can put up with our episodes, then you can find other people who also can put up with our episodes and find the commonalities.
urfavoritecoastersux: exactly life life is about what we uh share and not what we uh have not and i don't know positive hippie bullshit and all that or but yeah
beb: Trauma bot.
beb: It's a group. Group trauma bonding, whatever you've gone through in your life to find this show. You might share something in common with someone else who's done the same. Even people like us.
urfavoritecoastersux: And here we all are, together at last.
beb: Friendship through ah through a friendship through a wire through the Internet.
urfavoritecoastersux: ah
urfavoritecoastersux: It is, and can you believe, Ben, we are less than a one month as of the date of recording to today from our fifth anniversary of doing this show.
beb: That's pretty wild.
urfavoritecoastersux: That's insane.
beb: Because at the time I couldn't think about five years in the future and now here it is in my face.
urfavoritecoastersux: And neither could I.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's been a...
urfavoritecoastersux: I could not have predicted this by any stretch.
beb: Even though, so whats what's funny is ah I was driving, so last night I did a like a night hike because the moon was pretty big and bright and foolish.
urfavoritecoastersux: So...
beb: um So there's a stretch there' was a stretch though that I didn't have any service.
urfavoritecoastersux: Nice.
beb: um And I was driving alone and it was dark, so I had to put something on. And on my phone, I only had like three episodes downloaded of podcasts. Um, two of them I already listened to recently.
beb: And then for some reason I had an episode downloaded from like years ago of the time we commentated on a coaster expedition volume one for some reason.
urfavoritecoastersux: Oh wow!
beb: So I actually listened to that. Um, and it was interesting to hear like. I don't know. It's always weird to hear yourself talk, but then like to hit listen to a whole episode and then years pass. It's just, it was just really interesting. Um, plus like, I mean, it was just funny. Like what we were talking about about the commentary was actually pretty funny.
urfavoritecoastersux: We're good. I'm glad that what we've done is actually, um, you know, contributing in some entertainment fashion.
urfavoritecoastersux: Cause I just make fart jokes. So, you know, if there's any.
beb: But there were some good ones. I laughed at jokes. I laughed at jokes both of us made and there were some good ones. so
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm going to have to do that.
urfavoritecoastersux: um Check out one of our old episodes and just see. You know, I don't know, it's been a while and. If for some reason, like. You caught up with all the old ones and you're new here. I'm sure it sounds very different now.
beb: Mm hmm. Yeah, the one thing I noticed was like. We were definitely way more fucked up and even less, I think like in the beginning, there was so little filter. Because it was so new. um I don't know, it was just it was just pretty funny to listen to. It was actually it was like kind of creepy.
beb: Like listening to yourself in long form content of things you did years ago is is just like a very surreal exercise.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, I feel like I couldn't do it on like one time speed. It'd have to be like at least one and a half.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Just to try and make it less like, oh, that's me.
beb: Well, the, um, the other one, I mean, remember the first episode we did with Slater?
urfavoritecoastersux: oh yeah yeah the early ones with guests yep although shit we're five years in now or just about to be so we can say it I'm pretty sure we've still never gone longer than six weeks without an upload
beb: Yeah. Yeah. Those ones with guests are pretty wild too. In the early days.
beb: Yeah, that sounds about right.
urfavoritecoastersux: pour one out for our homies that ride this one yeah I mean I can definitely squeeze in a time next week
beb: And I mean, yeah, and I mean, I think we'll probably have a little bit of a break in the next couple of weeks, just with everything going on.
beb: Okay, cool.
urfavoritecoastersux: Uh, the following week might be difficult and the week after that might also be difficult.
beb: yeah and um
urfavoritecoastersux: Sorry guys, I'm in the middle of moving across the country. As of recording, I am a week and a half out from move date, moving from the big city in the Midwest to, um, a not as big city on the West coast.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's San Francisco.
beb: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's pretty fucking exciting.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, I'm stoked as fuck. I'm going to lose weight just by virtue of walking on the hills.
urfavoritecoastersux: The food's really good there, but it's also expensive.
beb: Yeah, the... um Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: So it's like you share plates and you got to walk up hills.
urfavoritecoastersux: It works out really nice.
beb: Yeah, West Coast food is pr... Yeah, West Coast food is a little nuts. That was... um
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, dude, the food game in fucking San Francisco is out of this world. We found a fully vegan McDonald's.
beb: Oh nice.
urfavoritecoastersux: And it was like one to one. Called Mr. Charlie's in Union Square, San Francisco. That was so cool. We ended up eating there like three times.
beb: I think I know. youre You know, it's funny. A friend of mine just sent a photo of so there is Dory Alley going on or one of those like gay outside street festival things going on. And he sent me a photo of this like young gay guy wearing nothing but a jockstrap standing at the counter ordering food. And I think it was that place.
urfavoritecoastersux: I definitely we walked through the Castro and there was definitely three dudes fully naked just standing there it was two of them kind of together and then one of them like another block up I thought they were maybe some sort of like security force well
beb: Yeah. Yeah, it sounds about right.
urfavoritecoastersux: cuz like who's gonna mess with a naked guy
beb: Yeah, that's true. That is true. Yeah. I mean, I've, um, those street fairs are like, like, you know, like in a humorous way, like, you know how like Fox news and you know, the right wing right now is, is kind of in this like culture war against pride month and pride parades and all that stuff.
urfavoritecoastersux: that that's
beb: Like the one exception to where they are right.
urfavoritecoastersux: That's Yeah, the way Jesus intended kidding
beb: I mean, the one place where they are right is with some of those events in San Francisco, where it is literally naked people in public having sex, just like ah God intended.
urfavoritecoastersux: I didn't see any of that just naked people which for the record I think is absolutely fine I have no it's a human body what the fuck is wrong with that
beb: Yeah. Well, it's the thing is there is it's like everyone
beb: Well, also too in San Francisco, you're on, if you move there, like you're on board, like it's not like, you know what I mean? They always like, in all these like stories where they like show a ah two second clip from like a San Francisco pride parade. And it's like, Oh, so imagine your kids just walking to school and seeing this. And it's like,
beb: This isn't happening in like what? Schomburg, Illinois on a Monday at 10 a .m.
urfavoritecoastersux: That shit was... Yeah, that shit was also on a Saturday. Yeah, that shit was on a Saturday.
beb: Right.
beb: Not to mention, like if you if you're like a parent with a child, like you kind of know what's going on in your own neighborhood and like, you know, you know what's going on, you know, you're you live there.
beb: Nothing is a shocker. It's not like, you know,
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, and you just don't take a kid if you don't want them exposed to that.
beb: Right.
urfavoritecoastersux: That happens in one neighborhood one day.
beb: It's not like because that.
beb: Yeah, it's not like that. It's not like it's not like there's a slippery slope of like, hey, we should like, you know, come up with some legal protections for LGBTQ plus people.
beb: And then I'll suddenly you're just, you know. 10 a .m. on a Monday, they're suddenly just a parade float of naked men dancing and harnesses the.
beb: It's a pretty far stretch.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, and also I think just Americans need to be less fucking prude and uptight about nudity.
beb: Oh, for sure.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's human, but like if you're less comfortable with your kids seeing a human body and I'm not saying sexualizing anything, just a human body, then you are with a kid seeing fucking Rambo being played on TNT in the afternoon.
beb: Yeah, right.
urfavoritecoastersux: that's a problem right
beb: It's like I think my I think my 10 year old should have a semi assault rifle, but God forbid he sees, you know, human body.
urfavoritecoastersux: god forbid there's a shampoo commercial that shows titty for some reason you know what i'm saying like
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm just saying if they were allowed to, you know, they would be like, damn, I really need head.
beb: Oh, yeah. Then make shampoo commercials more interesting.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah. I need head and shoulders right now.
beb: Yeah, well, it's a yeah, i i I wouldn't I don't know if I regret not moving there, but I kind of do get that. like feeling of missing out a little bit.
beb: But it was it i mean it was a totally different place, like peak pandemic. um So now it's bounced, it looks like everything's bounced back. It's kind of recovered and it's back to its old self.
beb: So I need to i need to go visit sometime soon.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yes, the city seemed really cool to me when we spent several days there, you know, looking around for apartments and all. um Nothing was nothing struck me as any more sketchy than any parts of Chicago I had been through.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Like any major city, there's parts you just don't go to. unless you have a reason to.
urfavoritecoastersux: But other than that, it's a major city that unfortunately has major city problems. But it's not the fucking hellhole that Fox News makes it out to be.
beb: Right. Yeah, exactly.
urfavoritecoastersux: Because yeah, Fox News would have you believe that that city is
beb: Well, that's, and that's the comparison to your, you know, they show these images of, I
urfavoritecoastersux: Oh, go ahead.
beb: was just going to say like that. I mean, cause that shit's marketed towards, you know, the boomer who lives in a small town and, um, yeah, it's just, it's just, it's just that contrast outrage.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, and that's the thing is like Fox News would have you believe that Chicago, where I currently live, I'm dodging bullets just to get around, right?
beb: Meanwhile.
beb: hit Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: which is not the case at all for me I only ever once had anything even remotely close to any kind of close brush to even put it in the most severe of terms um
urfavoritecoastersux: And San Francisco, they would have you believe that it's nothing but like you said, ah gay pride, gay pride parade with dicks swinging and homeless crack addicts.
beb: Mm -hmm. It's, uh, it's furries, indoctrinating children telling them to be trans and D E I woke politics.
urfavoritecoastersux: And every restroom is is for everybody.
beb: Yeah. Oh no, there's tampons in the gender neutral bathroom.
urfavoritecoastersux: J .K. Rowling's worst nightmare. What the fuck happened to her, by the way? quick rant about JK Rowling.
beb: I don't know I don't know
urfavoritecoastersux: I know you're not a Harry Potter fan, but when the fuck when the fuck and I was reviewing Epic Universe footage and or well concept art and when the fuck did the flu network have the ability to travel time?
urfavoritecoastersux: Me neither Ben, and I'm confused.
urfavoritecoastersux: I want an answer. I can accept that the flu network takes you from Paris to London, but to do so from the twenties to the nineties.
urfavoritecoastersux: Look, I'm just saying it doesn't seem to match canonically.
urfavoritecoastersux: Not saying Epic Universe doesn't look awesome because it does. um Just, you know, I'm a Harry Potter nerd next year.
beb: Yeah. When does that open?
beb: Okay. That's cool. I mean, it is exciting to always get a new theme park other than what, why or not? Well, what the is it? Um, lost Island.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah. um
beb: It's like,
urfavoritecoastersux: I suppose one of us should go there.
beb: Yeah, i'd I'd like to check it out. I don't see myself going to Disney world anytime soon. It's not that I don't want to go. I just, I, I just don't think I have the time or like the vacation resources to devote like a whole week to go.
beb: Whereas like universal is like, you know, two days and you're good pop in a sea world.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, they they already announced that the tickets for Epic Universe are going to be um like you purchase two days to universal parks that aren't Epic Universe.
beb: Um,
urfavoritecoastersux: And then the third day is is Epic Universe.
beb: Okay.
beb: Oh, gotcha. Okay.
beb: But even then, like, that's way more manageable.
urfavoritecoastersux: So that
beb: I get, I get overwhelmed trying to think of planning a Disney world vacation.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, it does seem a little overwhelming. But that's why we're happy to announce our your favorite coaster sucks meet up at Disney World. No, I'm just kidding.
beb: I mean, Hey, if someone wants to volunteer a planned thing for a group rigor rigor, no, sorry. It just, um, I'm down, but yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, here's the thing is actually.
beb: Every, cause like, I'm like, I've thought about, well, like last year when I went down there, I was like, I went on YouTube and I was like, you know, just like, you know, I'm going to watch some YouTube videos on how to like plan a Disney trip.
urfavoritecoastersux: Go ahead.
beb: And then like within the first maybe three videos, I was just like, there's no way I can do this. And like, there's like, cause I booked that trip last minute. I was like, there's no way this is happening.
beb: but yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, I mean it's a little difficult if you do it last minute. i'm I was going to say, actually, I know a few people that would be really stoked if we had to meet up in Orlando.
beb: Oh, for sure, yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Which is going to bring me nicely to our the the first thing I wanted to talk about this episode. Which is this fucking big ass trip I just got home from.
urfavoritecoastersux: which, um yeah, primarily was focused on moving to San Francisco.
beb: ah yeah
urfavoritecoastersux: However, we had booked D23, which fell right in the middle of this trip just by happenstance. um You know, when the tickets went on sale, I think six months ago or whatever,
urfavoritecoastersux: So it worked out nicely. We were able to just get ourselves.
beb: Oh yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, i we drove from San Francisco to Disneyland. And the thing about that is everything is great until you get to Magic Mountain.
urfavoritecoastersux: You get to Magic Mountain.
beb: Well, is it traffic wise or?
urfavoritecoastersux: Yep, because Magic Mountain signifies the L .A. area.
beb: Yeah. So that's the first stop. If you're driving from San Francisco, you actually go through that area.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, because we took the five.
urfavoritecoastersux: I don't know what what all we took to get on the five.
beb: Okay.
urfavoritecoastersux: But that was the main route, you know, through the Bakersfield area and all that.
urfavoritecoastersux: and so um Yeah, we we got to Santa Clarita and I was like I saw a bus that said Santa Clarita I was like Huh, that's where Magic Mountain has and in my mind.
urfavoritecoastersux: I was like it doesn't seem like it's been that long You know so it's like oh shit. There's Magic Mountain Let's pull over get some gas at the bathroom all that you know and And then we got back on the road and dude fucking two more hours to get to fucking SNA from there um Let's see Google can answer that Magic Mountain to SNA is oh Wait a second.
beb: Yeah.
beb: How many miles is that?
urfavoritecoastersux: That's not correct
beb: Also heads up by Craig's coming in, the dogs are gonna go nuts, so I might have to mute for a few seconds in like a couple minutes.
urfavoritecoastersux: Okay. All right. 73 miles.
beb: Okay. Which is actually distance wise, it's actually pretty fucking far. It's like, that's what's, I think that's what's crazy about l LA, like not living there is, you know, you hear about like the, you know, year two hour commute.
beb: And it's like, that's obviously long, but it's also 70 miles. Like there's a lot of opportunity for backups to happen or accidents or, I mean, shit, 70 miles is like the distance between.
urfavoritecoastersux: oh Yeah, no, it's the other side of LA for sure Yeah, dude the l LA area is
beb: Yeah. Like you hear, you know, l LA area and in your mind, that's like, oh, that's one city, but it's like a span of 70 miles. That's like.
beb: I don't even know how long that, that'd be like from, that's like definitely longer than here than like Colorado Springs.
urfavoritecoastersux: like textbook urban sprawl, right?
urfavoritecoastersux: I mean, it might have actually been like two and a half, maybe even three. I wasn't keeping time. It was just because the thing is, it's just stop and go.
urfavoritecoastersux: and not go it's like stop let off the brakes stop let off the brakes stop for three minutes so anyway
beb: Well, it's also like every time you go through one of those cities, it's like, like, yeah, when you go through the cities, like,
beb: from what I remember, it's kind of like you'll go from like five lanes and then it'll go down to like three lanes and then it opens up to five lanes and then there's like an interchange where you have to stay in like one lane and it's backed up. There's no like straight shot.
beb: thing
urfavoritecoastersux: yeah and it's all california drivers which listen everywhere has fucked up drivers but california has a lot more people than most other places so just by rule of percentages
beb: Yeah.
beb: shit
urfavoritecoastersux: That's all right. I know your dog's like participating in the podcast. I will get to what we got down south for is D 23.
beb: yeah give me yeah
urfavoritecoastersux: All right. And this year they had switched it um from being considered an expo to being the ultimate fan event.
urfavoritecoastersux: alright whatever fine same shit Anaheim Convention Center I'll say right from the top we did not have tickets to the Honda Center because that shit was fucking expensive um we couldn't get them that shit was pricey ah I don't know I'll try better to make better content about Disney shit if you really
beb: Yeah, give me, yes.
urfavoritecoastersux: want and we can try better next time if you guys care that much but we watched a live stream from the hotel room that was literally around the corner from the convention center so and you know fine we also didn't have to pay 20 bucks for a beer at the Honda Center we were drinking in the hotel just fine so you know pros and cons right but Friday
urfavoritecoastersux: I woke up at fucking 3 .55, we all did, 3 .55 a .m. to try and get the fucking virtual queue. Because this D23 only had virtual queue for the big stores. And the main thing that Rhian wanted to get was the Star Cruiser.
urfavoritecoastersux: So we woke up for the d23 marketplace got the virtual queue 4 a .m I got a good boarding group and so to ran so we were all able to get in we met someone there ah Who wanted to get in a boarding group? So we we're like, yeah, come along cuz you could have two people per um We waited an hour and a fucking half to get into the d23 marketplace, but we finally made it in and and got the Star Cruiser and I found a really bitchin' jacket that says Disneyland and Walt Disney World. It's fucking awesome. That shit sold out.
urfavoritecoastersux: Then we got to see, yeah, yeah, yeah, cause this shit sold out early.
beb: You guys about tickets ahead of time?
urfavoritecoastersux: that D23 sold out in like three days.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Last time there was tickets available until like the weekend before.
beb: Probably just less
urfavoritecoastersux: But it's um it's every other year.
urfavoritecoastersux: Which also, hey, really awesome.
beb: probably just less
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, what'd you say?
beb: Well, I was just going to say, like, probably also like, um, like two years ago, pandemic, you know, more pandemic, uh, what do you call it? Fatigue.
urfavoritecoastersux: A little bit, yeah, it was way bigger and more busy this time. Way more busy, way more people. I had the feeling they oversold it.
urfavoritecoastersux: um To be honest, that's the feeling I got, especially on Sunday.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: That said, we were able to make our way into some panels, which is awesome. We did not, again, get to go to the entertainment panel or the parks panel, because that was at the Honda Center, required a separate ticket that was way fucking expensive. So we did not get to go to that stuff, but we found a livestream and watched that in the hotel. But the stuff I did get to see was fucking cool.
urfavoritecoastersux: so They had a whole car show with a bunch of different cars from Disney movies. It was a tram from the the old Disneyland parking lot tram and a car that Walt actually drove down Main Street.
urfavoritecoastersux: They had a bunch of booths about their different shows and stuff.
urfavoritecoastersux: We did end up stopping by a couple of them, Disney Plus and Abbott Elementary, because that's a fun show. I like that one. Friday, we had gotten reservations for the goofy movie panel, which was fucking dope.
urfavoritecoastersux: It was about um a documentary that's scheduled to hopefully be released at some point soon on streaming called not just a goof and definitely go follow them on ah Instagram if you're into goofy movie because that movie looks fantastic.
urfavoritecoastersux: It has a bunch of.
beb: This is the new one.
urfavoritecoastersux: yeah it's a making of documentary they unearthed a bunch of footage from the director of a goofy movie from the production of the movie and then are telling the story with that plus interviews with um you know the crew and some of the cast and also some great animation sequences where they animated all the people in the style of a goofy movie
beb: Okay.
urfavoritecoastersux: They showed a couple of clips that this panel was fantastic. They had the the producer and the director there to talk about it. They had the voice of goofy Bill Farmer. They had the director of a goofy movie. I think the animation director and somebody else, it was it was awesome.
urfavoritecoastersux: Bill Farmer, the voice
beb: What is, I've never actually, I've never seen a goofy movie. Is it a, is it a good movie?
urfavoritecoastersux: blasphemy blasphemy blasphemy go watch it it'll make you want to call your dad can somebody please leave a comment and tell Ben to watch this fucking movie
beb: I know I've heard about, I know it was big. I just never, I never saw it.
beb: Alright, I'll put it on the list.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's really good dude. And it's short.
urfavoritecoastersux: But ah Bill Farmer ended up 95.
beb: When did that come out, like...
beb: Oh shit, okay, so it's old.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, it's from when we were kids. Make you feel old?
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Ha ha ha. Anyway, Bill Farmer had his son come out and they sang Nobody Else But You from the soundtrack of The Goofy Movie.
urfavoritecoastersux: while it played on the screen it was awesome i got a video i uploaded it to our instagram so ah go find that on our instagram if you're interested it was really nice i enjoyed it great panel i'm really hoping that um not just a goof the film is released they were mentioning that they're in talks with quote a streaming service that's not netflix so yeah i think that's the inference given that it was the disney convention or fan event i should say um but it was really great to be in attendance for that
beb: So Disney plus.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: It really was. um So. The next day. We woke up early, got some reservations, but ended up not using them for virtual queue because.
urfavoritecoastersux: We just decided not to shop anymore, which is cool. Got our one souvenir each and that was dope. And the only need a virtual cues for the shop. So um we did, however, queue up for the Abbott Elementary panel in the morning. Which was really cool because we got to see the entire ensemble cast of Abbott Elementary.
beb: Okay, cool.
urfavoritecoastersux: Have you seen that show before?
beb: I've never watched it through, but I've probably collectively seen like maybe five or six episodes.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's a good show.
beb: It's good. I like, I mean, yeah, I thought it was good.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, yeah, I think it's it's it's good. It's funny. I enjoy it. um We happen to get seated right next to like across the aisle from Adam the woo, which is pretty funny.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: And interestingly, um without getting into too much YouTube drama here, he was with Daphne or Natalie, whatever she goes by.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: And I don't think that he put her in his videos.
urfavoritecoastersux: well normally he'll put her in his videos when they're together and like I just noticed that they were together the whole time because we saw them a couple times and then we were seated next to them at that panel and like he didn't put her in his video and all this time I don't know anyway ah let the
beb: yeah
beb: maybe Maybe she called off sick or something.
urfavoritecoastersux: i don Yeah, maybe who knows let the subreddits figure that one out right anyway Anywho I'm a fan.
urfavoritecoastersux: I watch his videos I Don't know if it's cuz I like enjoy the content or if it's cuz I'm like oh, he's a lonely old man But
beb: I used to a lot. I mean, but I mean, also, I mean, he probably started, I don't know for, I mean, he was kind of OG with YouTuber.
urfavoritecoastersux: in like the early 2010s, yeah.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: But he's he's been doing the daily vlog for a long time. I'm a fan. I got a picture with him last E23. Because he does mostly Disney stuff now.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: But anyway, I just thought that was interesting. Moving on, I also had managed to get reserv reservations for the animation panel, which was fucking awesome. It was Jason Manzoukis hosting a conversation with Seth MacFarlane, Matt Groening, Mike Judge, and Lauren Bouchard.
urfavoritecoastersux: which is fucking fascinating and awesome to listen to.
beb: Yeah, that sounds that sounds pretty good.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, dude, it was amazing. um Jason Manzoukis was a great host for that and...
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, it was great to see those four dudes in conversation. Apparently that was the first time those four guys had ever been like in a live appearance together. So that was awesome. And then they did like um promotion for upcoming season of Bob's Burgers. Futurama and The Simpsons.
beb: Okay. Nice.
urfavoritecoastersux: So there are some clips and everything. um There's going to be four episodes of The Simpsons that are going to be exclusively streaming on Disney Plus that they announced there.
urfavoritecoastersux: So that's kind of exciting.
beb: Yeah. Have you seen any new symptoms though? Like, do you keep up with it?
urfavoritecoastersux: Not like every week, but usually I'll catch up on Hulu at least half the season.
beb: Yeah, are they any good?
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah. You know, at this point they have like better seasons and not as good seasons, but I'd say consistently they're better than they were like 10 years ago when it was kind of just a joke.
beb: Yeah, I guess it's kind of where I left off, was like the 10 years ago one. I thought that sucked.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, no, it's definitely.
beb: It was painful it was like painful to watch.
urfavoritecoastersux: I'd say on average, the episodes are better quality. Again, there's still like better seasons and not as good seasons, but averaging, they're all better than they were like a decade ago.
beb: Yeah.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: So, I mean, I I'm still a fan, you know,
urfavoritecoastersux: And, um, long time listeners to the show may remember that at the last D 23, the only panel we managed to get a reservation for was the Simpsons panel where I got to see Matt Groening and Yardley Smith speak. Um, and yeah, it was awesome to continue that trend.
urfavoritecoastersux: Like now that the Simpsons is a Disney property. It's cool that I've been able to like. Have that experience of going to the the fan event and being able to translate it to that live setting, you know.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: So that was Saturday, and then Saturday night was the big parks panel. So I got a whole big fucking note, because it was a big one.
urfavoritecoastersux: Ben, did you hear it was a big one?
beb: I do not.
urfavoritecoastersux: It was a big one. And there's some big shit we are going to talk about here.
urfavoritecoastersux: First of all, first thing announced, and this, okay, first thing.
urfavoritecoastersux: Josh Damaro started out by saying that nothing announced was blue sky. Everything was in development. It's no blue sky concept. So that was cool to hear up front. um I'm gonna spare y 'all about an hour and a half of musical acts and just go through the list.
urfavoritecoastersux: First of all, they're getting a Coco boat ride at Disney's California horny Adventure. Fucking awesome. Love it.
urfavoritecoastersux: Rumors I've been hearing is this is actually expanding California Adventure beyond Disneyland Drive and making progress on Disneyland forward.
urfavoritecoastersux: There you go.
beb: what it What is, what is, what is, and what is Coco?
urfavoritecoastersux: Coco.
urfavoritecoastersux: Pixar film.
beb: Oh, okay. Gotcha.
urfavoritecoastersux: Really good one. About. um
urfavoritecoastersux: Dia de los Muertos and Mexican culture and music and the afterlife. Good film. Good film. So I'm excited for that.
urfavoritecoastersux: They gave some further details on the Avatar ride and land coming to Disney California Adventure. So ah Avatar ride is going to be a boat ride that is the same ride type as Pirates of the Caribbean in Shanghai. That's super high tech boat that goes sideways and backwards.
urfavoritecoastersux: Spoiler alert.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, it's going to be that, but team to avatar only land of the park theme to that. I think there may have been a smaller ride included in the right area. Couldn't tell for sure. These were all just notes I took while watching the live stream. So I got every ride in there. I was trying my best to make notes. um I've watched some other stuff, but I didn't let my notes get influenced by it.
urfavoritecoastersux: So Tokyo Tokyo Disneyland is getting a nighttime spectacular or a new one. Cool. Love to see it.
urfavoritecoastersux: Disneyland Paris is getting a new nighttime spectacular. Also cool, but their drone show also looked really dope, so. Hopefully they reincorporate the drones into that.
urfavoritecoastersux: um Magic Kingdom is getting a night a new nighttime parade.
urfavoritecoastersux: So there's that.
urfavoritecoastersux: It looks pretty cool for what it's worth.
beb: yeah
urfavoritecoastersux: All right, here's a big one.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: They are building a Lion King log flume at Disney's Adventure World, formerly Disney la Disney Studios, Disney Studios, Paris. Yes. Yeah.
beb: Is it going to be like a splash mountain log fume or just totally ground up
urfavoritecoastersux: Yep.
urfavoritecoastersux: I mean, it looked like there was a model of it. And oh, I'll put on my pictures on the Patreon or Patreon on the um Discord for everybody. I did get to go in on Sunday to the Imagineering Pavilion ah Pavilion ah booth and see all the models and new stuff and take a bunch of great pictures. So I'll post those up for everybody. um I'll just have you all know.
urfavoritecoastersux: Not even all the Disneyland vloggers got access to those models, but your boy did.
beb: How'd you do that?
urfavoritecoastersux: Because all the Disneyland vloggers were fucking I saw ordinary adventures taking pictures when I was in there from around the rope. I had to wait in a gnarly line to get in. But y 'all, I made it in there to get some fucking awesome pictures. And I did. So those are going up on the Discord. um So models of everything that I'm talking about that they had will post some cool pictures. Including the Lion King log flume. Next big thing, Disneyland is getting a Walt Disney animatronic.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's gonna ah play in a show called Walt Disney, A Magical Life. And it it's gonna be premiering next year in the theater with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. And then after I think six months, it's going to play interchangeably with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
urfavoritecoastersux: So every other show will be Walt Disney and then the the shows between will be Abe Lincoln.
beb: Wait, there's an a blink in animatronic.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, at Disneyland, great moments with Mr. Lincoln.
beb: Oh, okay. I didn't know that.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, it was one of the first human -based animatronics that Walt actually built, I think, for the World's Fair. And then it became a ah Disneyland attraction.
beb: Nice, okay.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, so now um there's going to be the Walt Disney a magical life show running with an animatronic Walt Disney in that same theater, but they're going to be on a turntable. They said the show is basically going to be like Walt Disney in his office.
urfavoritecoastersux: And they didn't really elaborate much.
urfavoritecoastersux: They were like, maybe he hears some music or comes up with a song. And then I don't remember who came out and sang a song.
urfavoritecoastersux: Because that's how that whole presentation worked next. Indiana Jones attraction is going to Animal Kingdom, Disney's Animal Kingdom, D .A .K. Replacing dinosaur um countdown to extinction.
urfavoritecoastersux: going to be in a whole new attraction, not the same storyline as the Indiana Jones attraction at Disneyland.
urfavoritecoastersux: So there's that.
urfavoritecoastersux: They are going to re -theme Dinoland in Disney's Animal Kingdom to tropical Americas.
urfavoritecoastersux: which includes restaurantasaurus is becoming hacienda restaurant and is also going to include casita madrigal attraction. um The notes I wrote here says it's the day Antonio receives his magical gift Casita has enchanted furniture which transports us into Antonio's room where he can talk to animals and that's opening in 2027.
urfavoritecoastersux: So that's pretty fucking cool.
urfavoritecoastersux: new ride for disney's animal kingdom that's awesome um just tiana's bayou adventure at disneyland is opening november 15th that's fucking fantastic because that means they're probably gonna finally get rid of those goddamn construction walls over there that was a pain in the ass and we'll get to my trip report about disneyland
beb: Is it a credit?
urfavoritecoastersux: Uh, Zootopia replacing it's tough to be a bug in winter 2025. Uh, the name of the show there is better zoo gather. Boo. They're going to open a spaceship earth lounge in 2025.
urfavoritecoastersux: Cool. It's going to be a pirates themed restaurant and magic kingdom in 2025. Cool. Test track three is opening in 2025. All right. Now, here we go. Here's where it gets interesting again. Monsters, Inkland is coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios theme to Monstropolis. This is going to include the first ever suspended roller coaster at a Disney park. Theme to the door warehouse.
beb: That sounds cool. Do you know the manufacturer?
urfavoritecoastersux: Not confirmed. um A friend of the show. Brandon has told ah Brandon Anderson has told us that it's likely going to be a Vekoma, which makes the most sense.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm kind of holding out hope for a B and &M.
urfavoritecoastersux: But I think that's super unlikely. Now, this is a big point of contention for some Disney folks because it's not yet confirmed where this is going. Could either be going into the animation courtyard at Disney's Hollywood Studios or replacing Muppet Vision 3D and the Muppet Courtyard.
urfavoritecoastersux: And it's not yet known as of recording which of those it will be.
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm hoping animation courtyard. And speculation is it's going to be like the Zootopia land in Shanghai with the windows and everything seems super cool.
urfavoritecoastersux: Alright, another big one here. Magic Kingdom is having is going to have a Cars Land in a reimagined portion of Frontier Land. Two new Cars attractions. One is going to be an off -road dark thrill ride. And one is a kids ride. And we found out since after d23 that this is going to be replacing the rivers of america and tom soyer island they're going to be filling in the rivers of america magic kingdom so
beb: Thomas or is that a boat ride?
urfavoritecoastersux: Um, yeah, there's the rivers of America boat. And then Tom Sawyer Island, where you go over there and there was, um, a playground for kids, basically.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: So a lot of people are upset about that.
beb: Yeah, I guess it's not surprising. but also I feel like no matter what they do, people will complain.
urfavoritecoastersux: I'll say.
urfavoritecoastersux: I'll say while they have Tomorrowland Speedway there. That maybe would have been a better place to put a cars attraction. I don't know. I don't know. I've never been to Tom Sawyer's Island that I know of. Maybe I went when I was a kid on the trip there, but. I went once and I don't remember going there, but it's possible I did, but it's I don't really care either way.
urfavoritecoastersux: I just think it's funny how riled up people like adults are getting.
beb: Well, that's what I mean. That's just that Disney culture, Disney adult culture.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yep.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's ah it's it's it's different, man. Like I was telling you about the shopping, dude, the shopping was crazy. There's people walking out of there with just arm loads full of shit. That the aerial doll was the big seller, apparently.
urfavoritecoastersux: Super limited edition, you know, Ariel. Those dolls are on some other level.
urfavoritecoastersux: So getting back to the parks panel Disney treasure is gonna feature a Moana show with a 15 foot tall puppet that looked awesome um The Disney treasure will also feature a Hercules show cool looks good They are going to build four more Disney cruise line chips from 2027 through 2031 and They look like smaller ships and I think they're going to be serving more of Asia and Australia.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's still pretty cool to see him expanding cruise line by that much. There was a big Deadpool presentation where he made jokes about the Yeti and the Phantasmic Dragon. Pretty fucking awesome.
urfavoritecoastersux: um Shanghai Disneyland is getting a spider -man coaster looks cool Hong Kong Disneyland is getting a spider -man attraction that looked like Tower of Terror which is awesome because it was like spider -man within a web above you and Dr. Octopus below you
beb: Okay. Yeah, I could already visual that.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, that seemed really cool.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: um
urfavoritecoastersux: Avengers Campus and Disney California Adventure. um They announced the E -Ticket is gonna be named Avengers Infinity Defense and it looks like it's basically going to be Spider -Man at Islands of Adventure. Shrug emoji.
urfavoritecoastersux: Hopefully they do better since they have the you know characters and all that for an original storyline, but who knows? um They're gonna build a second attraction in a Ventures campus at Disney's California Adventure. It's gonna be a fucking KUKA arm like the one at Legoland that we rode back in 2009.
beb: Stationary or or on a coaster?
urfavoritecoastersux: stationary.
beb: Okay.
urfavoritecoastersux: Now, the only modification to it that's mildly interesting is that the seats are. They're like pods that the KUKA arm will actually pick up and do the ride program with.
urfavoritecoastersux: And the the seat pods are on a track. You know, for efficiency.
beb: Oh, I gotcha.
urfavoritecoastersux: But that's pretty cool. So there's basically, yeah, like an oval track around the KUKA arms.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: And they, they mentioned riding several times because there'll be different hero interactions or whatever. It's a fucking KUKA arm ride.
urfavoritecoastersux: But good that they're adding the capacity, right? So then lastly. Josh tomorrow announced they're going to build a villain's land at Magic Kingdom.
urfavoritecoastersux: Didn't really give much details other than that. Just announced there's going to be a villain's land.
urfavoritecoastersux: So there you go. That was the parks panel.
urfavoritecoastersux: Then Sunday. We saw some other shit. And the show floor. um I'll put some pictures up. the The I went, like I said, to the imagine engineering booth and got pictures of the models.
urfavoritecoastersux: so I will be sharing all those with you guys very soon and um Monday we decided to go to fucking Disneyland now I will say this apparently there was a 4 .4 earthquake in Pasadena that day
beb: That's not, I mean that's not that big, right? That's like not even enough to feel it.
urfavoritecoastersux: We were just outside of the radius of it, and I didn't feel anything. We were watching the Disneyland Band March at the exact moment it happened, so...
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Shrug emoji, I guess. um It was busy. We didn't rope drop. We didn't stay till close. We got on eight attractions. Here they are in order. Haunted Mansion Holiday.
urfavoritecoastersux: Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters. Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin. Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, Jungle Cruise, Rise of the Resistance, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, um and we also had two meals at the park, we saw the Magic Happens Parade, we watched the fireworks from a cool place, ah we saw Phantasmic, and we got some dull whips.
urfavoritecoastersux: it was busy but we didn't buy genie plus or individual lightning lanes so that was nice like apparently mondays are just super fucking busy at disneyland i don't know why mondays are
beb: I mean, is that park pretty slammed during the 23? Typically.
beb: Yeah. I mean, imagine if like Mondays in general, at the park.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, apparently those are busy just like consistently.
beb: Maybe it's, you know, what's funny is ah Cedar Point had the same problem. When I worked there, Mondays were slammed. And I think it might as much just be like, that must be a popular day to take off at work.
beb: During the week, you know, like it's easier to do a three day weekend, especially if you have more locals coming in.
urfavoritecoastersux: That kind of makes sense.
beb: I know for Cedar Point it was because Anyone who drove in from like out of the area and they stayed on site, they typically started their reservations on Monday or like Sunday night. Um, so yeah, like it was, it was this weird thing where Mondays and Tuesdays, like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays were slammed and then Fridays were dead. Sundays were dead. And then of course, Saturday is just, you know, Saturday.
beb: But I always remember like Mondays and Saturdays being pretty much in this in distinguishable from each other wine wise.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, it was it was busy but also i will say in defense of disneyland the whole pathway from just past haunted mansion all the way to over by big thunder is closed off so the park's not even a full loop right now
beb: Oh just for that construction.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, for Tiana's and they're also redoing the Hungry Bear restaurant and re -theming it to, my voice just cracked there, the Hungry Bear restaurant and they're re -theming it to very strangely um the the um Country Bear Jamboree.
urfavoritecoastersux: Which is super weird because I think Disneyland got rid of that ride in the early 2000s.
urfavoritecoastersux: ah attraction maybe even the nineties because it's where Winnie the Pooh is now so they're seeming they're receiving hungry bear to the country bear jamboree they release the menu items it looks for I don't know it's barbecue shit I don't need that shit
beb: Yeah, I'm not sure.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: They have one thing.
beb: Well, if it's barbecue shit, it's going to be like like the the meme of like, you got to try our barbecue in town. And then it shows the picture, it's like two little slices of meat.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's fucking they have.
urfavoritecoastersux: They actually looked like healthier portions than that. But the thing that looked alarming was they had a thing called corn ribs for plant based eaters, such as myself. And it was like. Like imagine like not a baby corn, but just like. Corn reassembled into the shape of a rib.
urfavoritecoastersux: like kernel by kernel yeah dude it was fucking disturbing looking yeah I'm not eating any fucking corn ribs I'll tell you that much I saw the picture of that shit and I was like oh
beb: Sometimes I just think that if it's a plant -based food, it should just be its own thing. like like Why call it ribs? Just like keep it what it is.
urfavoritecoastersux: We ain't doing that shit, no thank you.
urfavoritecoastersux: But um Disneyland, fucking awesome as always. Oh, also Space Mountain was closed.
urfavoritecoastersux: And Haunted Mansion was fucking virtual queue only.
beb: like
beb: Is it, are they doing any rehab on it?
urfavoritecoastersux: I think it's just a scheduled maintenance. Nothing. I don't think they're bringing back Ghost Galaxy. I'm sorry, y 'all.
urfavoritecoastersux: I know I want to see it. I never had a chance to.
urfavoritecoastersux: And um I mean.
urfavoritecoastersux: I feel like probably being in California. Disneyland is going to be my main park.
beb: Yeah. Cause that's why. So what was the total from where we, where you were at six hours?
urfavoritecoastersux: It was like seven and a half, maybe eight. But the the the thing that was nice is that we realized that Magic Mountain is the perfect spot to break up the trip.
beb: Yeah, that's true. I mean, that's doable for like a few times a year.
urfavoritecoastersux: Because you get there. Yeah, you get there. It's like about five to Magic Mountain.
urfavoritecoastersux: it's like not bad at all to get to Magic Mountain so you leave in the morning get to Magic Mountain in the afternoon go through the evening and then stay in a hotel near there and then just drive out first thing in the morning to Disneyland or if possible fly out to SNA
beb: Yeah, that's doable.
beb: Yeah. Yeah. I mean,
beb: Yeah, I'm sure there's plenty of like, you know, you could probably find some cheap flights on a whim around California.
urfavoritecoastersux: That's what I'm hoping, SFO, SNA.
urfavoritecoastersux: So that was ah that was the the trip. And then while I was out of town, wouldn't you know it, fucking Six Flags Great America goes ahead and announces a coaster.
beb: Yeah. This one is equally as surprising as so two hats. I'm really excited for the park, but also the part of me is also like, man, a dive coaster.
beb: But I also hope that this one is better than the ones I've written.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's going to be a huge success for them.
beb: Yeah. Oh, for sure.
urfavoritecoastersux: I will go ahead and say it.
beb: And even though.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's actually a great addition to the park.
beb: And like.
urfavoritecoastersux: I mean that wholeheartedly because it's going to be a fucking huge success for them.
beb: Yeah.
beb: Yeah. And this is a pretty long stretch without a new ride too. I mean, it's been since what?
urfavoritecoastersux: Exactly.
beb: Five years.
urfavoritecoastersux: yeah uh... it'll be six when it opens his twenty nineteen max force or wait was that twenty eighteen yeah going our cdb now twenty nineteen
beb: Yeah, that's a pretty long stretch.
beb: It doesn't seem like it, because I have to check. Let me fact check that.
beb: Okay. I never know how many X's to put in a max force. Is it three?
urfavoritecoastersux: 15 triple x force
beb: Is it one?
beb: Max, X, X, X force. Yeah, just so like, I mean, let's see, I'm just curious what their lineup. So, I guess like when we were younger, so actually, okay, so,
beb: The gap between ultimate flight and dark night was five years. Oh, no, that's not considering.
urfavoritecoastersux: That's four.
beb: Oh, that's it right. That's not considering raging Cajun.
urfavoritecoastersux: Correct. Now this was the longest coaster drought in the park's history.
beb: Yeah, damn.
urfavoritecoastersux: wrath of rakshasa rakshasa
beb: Which doesn't.
urfavoritecoastersux: rakshasa rakshasa rakshasa rakshasa yeah
beb: Rakshasa.
beb: Interesting name. I'm glad it's not like the flash or something. I think that's actually the biggest relief I have is the fact that it's not going to be superhero themed.
urfavoritecoastersux: it's it's certainly an interesting theme i um
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm going to stop my jokes before they get into like ignorant racist territory.
beb: Well, considering the area and the people it the attracts, I'm sure they'll get plenty of that.
urfavoritecoastersux: Oh, they will, but it's not going to be for me.
urfavoritecoastersux: all right 180 feet tall 171 foot drop 96 degrees steep oh my god 67 miles per hour five inversions on a dive coaster
beb: You know, it's funny since remember when they removed a job and all the rumors that took place, like it was supposed to be like Chang. And then people always talked about like a GCI. I'm actually shocked they're not removing demon. For this. They were pretty creative with the layout and like the space usage.
beb: Also a nice little, also a nice little throwback to the blue track.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, they were.
beb: The skyline's been missing it. Cause I mean, I think that's my biggest complaint about the current skyline is that there's so much yellow, orange, brown, red.
beb: There's no like vibrant coaster anymore.
urfavoritecoastersux: I was also thinking.
beb: And this, this risk rounds it out.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, yeah, it's a pretty like.
urfavoritecoastersux: outlandish Lee purple.
urfavoritecoastersux: I like it. I was thinking um just because of its location, it's kind of paying tribute to deja vu. With like the vertical or 96 degrees, whatever drop there in county fair in that spot.
beb: Yeah, totally.
urfavoritecoastersux: I know it's not exactly the same angle but like still I'm hoping that they don't fill in the pond there for this yes
beb: Oh, yeah, there's that one because it was underneath the. The ones that were below the deja vu spikes. Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm hoping that they're not filling those in for this because that pond's nice just nice to have like some that's
beb: um I almost wonder if that pond is like drainage, it's like has something to do with like drainage and water, so they might have to keep it, but I didn't see it in the video.
urfavoritecoastersux: possible that's what I'm saying is like it's a little hard to tell for sure because I don't think I'm playing the video now
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: okay you can see v2 back there so that's about where that would be does a full 180 degree turn before hitting the lift hill just about you can't see in the video for sure
beb: One thing I was wondering too is, is the Midway going to be underneath or, cause I always think about like how good they've like, so she, like Sheikra and Griffin, they did a really good job of like framing the, uh, like the path with the coaster drop.
beb: So you get those like really cool images and that like the visual. I don't know where they're putting the midway. I think the midway is like under is like behind the drop.
urfavoritecoastersux: Midway, yeah. OK, so I have the video paused. If you go to the video and pause at 43 seconds. Pond appears to be there, so the lift hill goes over the midway.
urfavoritecoastersux: Because you can see the um lobster there. And the demons lift hill.
urfavoritecoastersux: So the pond appears to be there. And yeah, the midway is underneath directly. This does mean, however, it looks like this might be taking out that spot that they've had a fright fest maze at for the past several years. There in the demon area.
beb: Oh, yeah, probably.
beb: Yeah, I mean, so I'm looking at the video now, there's not going to be. There's really no good vantage point of the first drop where you're like able to stand kind of in front of it, run of it underneath of it. You're going to be like looking behind the track. Which obviously they're, you know, they have a very limited space to do this in.
beb: So, you know, can't be too critical, but it's one thing I wish they would have tried to do. I mean, I guess you could probably actually, the queue line for the lobster is probably going to be the best spot to get that to get that view.
urfavoritecoastersux: probably yeah okay so it looks like after that second dive loop is when you'll cross back over the midway
beb: You know, like little thing.
beb: Okay. Yeah, I see that.
beb: I also, I mean, I know you, I know you're kind of limited on elements for a dive coaster, but. Immelmans are kind of meh. Or I guess technically it's an implement and then a dive loop. Um,
beb: I'm just really critical, I don't mean to be. I just can't help it. ah the Do you think though that when you look at the layout and you think about the elements and stuff, doesn't it kind of seem very similar to X -Flight? Where you're kind of like, you're going from like a roll to a bank turn to another roll. It's kind of a similar layout.
beb: You know, you got an Immelmann.
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm not letting you do it, Ben.
beb: What was that?
urfavoritecoastersux: I said I'm not letting you do it, Ben.
urfavoritecoastersux: This looks good. Shut the fuck up.
beb: Yeah, it's, it's, it's good. I'm actually very, I'm actually pretty excited, but I want to tap into that, like teenage CIFF cam world complaining era for a little bit.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, let's check on CIFF game world.
beb: Break it down so you can build it back up.
urfavoritecoastersux: What is sif cam world saying?
beb: I didn't even...
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm looking right now.
beb: Fear the wrath.
beb: I also, I mean, I've also been reading a lot too about how new B &Ms have, um, rattles. So I'm curious, especially apparently the, whatever the hell it's called, the, the, when it dorny, apparently that one's gotten pretty bad already. According to the reviews.
urfavoritecoastersux: This is just people fighting about other things.
beb: You know, it is funny, there was a comment.
urfavoritecoastersux: Like literally. Halfway down the page, it's just like I'd like to see an overhaul of both kids areas. This is the topic about wrath of rakasha rakshasa raksha fuck.
urfavoritecoastersux: The new dive coaster.
beb: i did see I did see a really old comment from 2007 of somebody suggesting a dive coaster in that spot.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, I mean, maybe that person's a visionary.
beb: I mean, mean it's a pretty good prediction, 17 years in the future.
urfavoritecoastersux: That's what I'm saying. That's some crazy ass accuracy.
beb: Yeah, that blue is the blue track is going to look really nice on the skyline.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, I'm excited about this.
beb: And the the interlocking, um whatever they're calling it, interlocking zero g rolls. Looks pretty cool. Looks like it could be potential, potentially some ah good forces.
urfavoritecoastersux: yeah i think it's going to be cool
beb: It doesn't feel, I mean, it does feel like a pretty complete layout for a dive coaster.
beb: Like dive coasters are gonna naturally be on the shorter end, but for a shorter dive coaster, this actually does pretty good.
urfavoritecoastersux: ah
beb: I kinda wish they did the whole like RCT super steep bunny hill like ah like the one at Fiesta Texas has. But I mean, either way, this is still pretty good.
urfavoritecoastersux: I think it's going to do really well for them. and
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: I think it's cool that they're it's also going across the midway.
beb: Mm -hmm.
urfavoritecoastersux: So it's going to fill in some of that space next to the demon.
beb: Yeah. I'm also curious if they're going to light up any parts of the ride. Um, like because it's on the midway, like, um, I don't know, maybe illuminating the first drop or something, or, um, I don't know if they're really creative. Do one of those things where they like, or the first drop is illuminated and then like.
beb: The lights are programmed to go out when you drop and then the lights turn back on or, you know, little fun things they could do.
urfavoritecoastersux: That'd be cool. I'm excited to see it happen. I'm excited. You know, see green America get a new coaster.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's it's really great.
urfavoritecoastersux: Great addition to the park.
beb: It's the perfect time, yeah, it's the perfect time to argue about what they're gonna build next.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, and I think they're going to remove Batman the ride. Go fuck yourself.
beb: And this also goes to show like, you know how people, it also goes to show like, you know how people,
urfavoritecoastersux: Did you say Mount Olympus?
urfavoritecoastersux: Anyway, go ahead.
beb: ah I don't know. I feel like people really understate parks, abilities to squeeze in new coasters. Um, you know, like, cause that's the, that's the thing you pretty much hear about every park is like, they don't have room to build anything new. And then like, you know, they build a new ride and it's like squeezed in somewhere. It's like parks are pretty creative. Anyone who's played rollercoaster tycoon knows there's never a shortage of space to build a new ride.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, it's all about the budget.
beb: I mean, essentially this is, yeah, I mean, this is essentially going in where a boomerang was, like they
urfavoritecoastersux: The only thing I think they could have done better with this.
beb: figured it out. They know what they're doing.
urfavoritecoastersux: Is put a fucking tunnel on it.
beb: Yeah. Or at least like a trench, you know, something.
beb: But I mean, understandably it is, they do try to, you know, squeeze that budget as long, as much as I can. So, but, um, yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: It's a new coaster, so I'll take it.
beb: Yeah. And it's 180 feet tall. I mean, that's pretty, that's pretty good.
urfavoritecoastersux: Seriously, it looks like there'll be a good view based off of that animation.
beb: And it's a good, it also like, it's a good centerpiece because it's, I mean, that's one thing that's been lacking since deja vu deja vu was a good centerpiece. Cause you had those two giant towers and the vibrant colors.
beb: And then since they took that out, there's like nothing in the middle of the park. And this is a good, like, this is going to be a good like centerpiece.
beb: Um, yeah, I'm excited.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, now they just need a big ah fucking weenie on the east side of the park.
beb: I'm actually,
beb: I mean, if they take out, if they take out roaring rapids and one of the flumes, they could literally fit a giga coaster. They're not saying they will do that or they should, but do you know, just hypothetically, like, cause that's, I was just scrolling through YouTube comments and that's like, there's already people talking about like how there's no more space for anything new.
beb: And I mean, like, I don't know what, I don't know how popular the rapids ride is, but I mean, that takes up a shit ton of space.
urfavoritecoastersux: They barely operated.
beb: Yeah. And I know they don't, I don't know if they really need both flumes. I mean, it would suck to see one of them go, but if they needed to take one out, like, I mean, they got a huge chunk of space left.
urfavoritecoastersux: I don't like the idea of removing flumes but Roaring Rapids I think could go because fucking Orleans Place needs some help yeah Roaring
beb: Yeah. Oh, for sure.
beb: Yeah. I mean, especially since they took out, uh, that hangover ride. I mean, yeah, there's like nothing there.
beb: I mean, who knows?
urfavoritecoastersux: Rapids is closed most of the time
beb: I know.
beb: Yeah. And I mean, I know this is a very profitable park for them. So like, I would guess within, you know, a couple of years, we'll probably get something new, pretty big. I don't know.
beb: Cause it it almost seems like whenever people talk about great America, every time they build something new, they almost act as if it's like the end of possibilities is like, Oh man, they've built this.
beb: We're never gonna, now we're never going to get a bigger ride than this, but you know, time moves on. And I'm sure they'll, I'm sure they got other plans.
urfavoritecoastersux: I remember. Do you remember fucking. Project Tumbleweed.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: And how that kicked around for years and years and then ah we finally got X flight.
beb: I mean, they.
beb: Yeah. And technically the free spin.
urfavoritecoastersux: yeah so like I feel like they always like the shit you hear rumors about it it might just be rumors but it also might be just concepts that you won't see materialized for years
beb: Yeah. I mean, what other rumors are left? So like there was project tumbleweed and that, uh, that eventually happened kind of in two different ways. The dive coaster played out. The wooden coaster played out. I remember when that was a thing, when like back in, I don't know, oh seven, oh eight. And people were talking about like a GCI or a gravity group. And then we ended up getting the RMC wooden coaster. I mean, that was a pretty big deal.
beb: I know I think the only rumor that's really left is RM seeing American Eagle.
urfavoritecoastersux: How dare you?
beb: But I also don't see that necessarily happening. I could see maybe like a refurb or like a like a refresh.
beb: um I don't see them fucking with that structure to get it racing again.
beb: um
urfavoritecoastersux: Agreed. I think if they do anything to it, they're just gonna knock it down.
beb: Yeah.
beb: I also heard the whole thing about if they do knock it down, they can't build that close to the road anymore. That the ride is like grandfathered in or something.
urfavoritecoastersux: Interesting, but I mean hey Then maybe they would RMC it I don't know
beb: Either way, I'm pretty excited. I might have to,
beb: Yeah, I mean, if they do arm seed, I could also see them just arm seen like one side. I don't know if they would do the whole twisted colossus thing. As cool as that would be. That's the other thing, too. It's like if Six Flags arm sees it. That's thing like so I don't know. Twisted Colossus is obviously cool, but they definitely like. Took out a lot of potential. I mean, that that was like a double. I mean, it was a double.
beb: You know, figure eight, and then they turned it into like a single oval, which the end result was still cool, but I do. I did feel like they kind of like, I don't know. They had more potential than they really, like they had more potential than what they actually executed on. I don't know if they would build a Mobius for American Eagle.
urfavoritecoastersux: I don't think the layout would lend itself well to that.
beb: Yeah, I mean, you really can only go out. You can only go out back. And I could also see something to where, like, instead of doing anything with the helix, they just knock the helix down and just turn that ending turnaround into like an emblem in.
beb: Or something like a dive loop.
urfavoritecoastersux: I mean if they did it right I could see it being pretty cool with like a death roll turn for the outside track like a downwards death roll and then like one of those like wave turns upward for the inside track that'd be pretty fucking cool
beb: Mm hmm.
beb: yeah
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: but it's RMC so you know it'd be like doing fucking flippy -doos before it got to the helix as if the airtime on those first two hills wasn't already good
beb: Yeah. I mean, like the whole. Yeah. Yeah, they'd make them like bang through like, I don't know, wave turns or make them wonky somehow.
beb: Like, uh, that's why I wish they would sometimes.
urfavoritecoastersux: and the first hill On the first hill, one track would zero G roll over the other, and then on the second hill, the the other track would zero G roll over the other.
beb: Yeah, that'd be cool.
beb: I'm curious, this has three trains?
beb: I think so, yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: What eagle?
beb: No, on ah on Wrath of Rakshasa.
urfavoritecoastersux: Oh, I hope so.
beb: Yeah, I can't imagine it wouldn't have three trains.
beb: Hopefully I'm all I'm excited to ride it in 2026.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, I'm like, I mean, I'll probably end up back at the park next year, but I'm not expecting the ride to be open.
beb: Then again, though, I mean, Great America has never really had a problem with opening rides on time. Well, some exceptions, but.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, I would.
urfavoritecoastersux: I would question that as the producer of a his history ah documentary podcast about the history of Great America.
beb: Oh nice, someone already made a no limits to version of it.
urfavoritecoastersux: Of course. um So. Wrath of Rakhshasa or Griffin. What's your pick?
beb: um I don't know.
beb: I mean, those old school dive coasters are like kind of in a different league than the many ones. Which is good, because I feel like.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, Rakhshasa is not really a mini one.
beb: No, but it is like the it's the smaller trains, though. I don't know, because I feel like they're kind of into there's like they're kind of in two classes because you got the like.
beb: Dr. Diabolical, and then you've got the that one they built in San Diego. You got the Iron Menace, and then you got the big ones, like Gold Striker.
beb: They're kind of in different camp they're kind of different camps.
urfavoritecoastersux: this is a rock shot says eight across though oh seven across okay I counted the animation run
beb: No, it's seven.
beb: It's 7 across with vest restraints.
beb: Which is also kind of weird.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, why the fuck is it seven across? Why the fuck is it 21 riders per train? That's so weird.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, I'm excited. So you got a trip coming up, right, bud?
beb: Yeah. So, um, I, uh, kind of impulsively booked a trip to the DC area. Cause, um, it's kind of the last region I need to hit for new coasters. So I'm going to hit, um, six flags America on Friday. And then Bush gardens, Europe on Saturday, and then Kings, dominion on Sunday.
beb: So I'm actually, I'm actually pretty excited because, um, other than, I mean, last year I did the three days at the Florida parks, but, um, so I'm trying to, I'm trying to do at least one weekend coaster trip a year. And so I got a couple of new credits to pick up and I'm excited to ride, um, like Pantheon and get some new rides on.
beb: Like sick, hopefully ah Superman at six flags, America's open and get on dominate or or not dominate. Oh yeah. Dominator and I through a five and then twist timbers. So if all goes well, if the parks aren't slammed, um, yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I was thinking of doing the quick queue at Bush gardens just to not deal with lines. I don't know how busy the park's really going to be though.
beb: Because Pantheon...
urfavoritecoastersux: They could probably purchase day of.
beb: Wait, what was that?
urfavoritecoastersux: You could probably purchase day of like wait and see how long the lines are.
beb: Yeah. Yeah, I probably don't need, like, a flash pass at Six Flags America on a Friday. I can't imagine that's, like, super busy. um And then, yeah, King's Dominion should be fine.
beb: without any kind of fast lane. Especially since um people always say that I -305 is typically a walk -on.
urfavoritecoastersux: yeah that's what i've heard as well
beb: Yeah, I mean the only variety I could see having like kind of a big line would be like Twisted Timbers and then
urfavoritecoastersux: tabali
beb: Oh, yeah, I'm probably going to like that that at that park. There's a few rides. I'd be fine skipping.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah,
beb: Like I don't need the rides in Bali. I don't need the ride flight of fear. um Would like to get on the bobsled and like grizzly and stuff like that.
urfavoritecoastersux: that's what I've heard as well.
beb: Oh, yeah, new grizzly. Get to check that out.
urfavoritecoastersux: yeah
beb: um Wait, they got rid of gett rebel yell, right?
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah No, it's called racers 72 now
beb: Or no, it's... What is it, racer? That's right, yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, sounds like a good trip, dude.
beb: Yeah, so...
urfavoritecoastersux: I haven't been out there in shit 20 years.
beb: Yeah, hopefully the weather holds up and I should probably check the weather.
beb: It would suck if it's like a total rain out. That would be my luck.
beb: Oh yeah, also Canada's Wonderland.
urfavoritecoastersux: well then you definitely won't need quick Q yeah that red looks pretty sick yeah that's gonna suck
beb: They're getting a.
beb: Yeah, for sure.
beb: Um, I was gonna say to you Canada's Wonderland. Also getting a new coaster.
beb: They're getting a premiere.
beb: Yeah, it looks really, that ride looks really cool. However, I don't know why they're doing a two train premier ride at that park with how busy that ride gets or how busy that park gets. Cause I was like, just doing the quick, I was just doing the quick math on that one. And like, I think someone pointed out that it's only going to really get, it's only going to be able to hit like, wait, let's see, 18.
beb: something like 50 dispatches a minute, eight or a 50 dispatches an hour. Yeah. So like 900 optimal 900, uh, people per hour, which isn't much for that park. So if they're open, if they're only open for like eight hours a day at most, yeah, that's like 7 ,000 guests, which I imagine is like,
beb: way under the amount of guests that park actually gets in a day.
urfavoritecoastersux: So you're going to want to rope drop or buy a flash pass.
beb: Yeah.
urfavoritecoastersux: But the ride does look cool.
beb: Yeah, that, oh yeah, with Oh yeah. And plus two with the, yeah, I mean with the fast lane taking up 40 % of seats on the ride, that means that standby line is only going to move like 500 people per hour, which is like basically what deja vu did it in an hour.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah but at least you get to watch it twice as much.
beb: Yeah.
beb: I mean, either way though, it looks pretty, it looks pretty cool. I mean, that's like premier rides are always super intense and like they have that, um, the, the inversions always have that like stand up air time in the inversions, which is pretty cool.
beb: So, um, yeah, see it's pretty, I guess that's so far from what we've seen.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, it looks awesome.
beb: It's pretty exciting.
urfavoritecoastersux: Definitely looks fucking awesome. Well, um I know ah not exactly a long episode, but also not a short one either. I'm like in the middle of the move, though.
urfavoritecoastersux: So I have to unfortunately get right back to it.
beb: Yeah, ah for sure.
urfavoritecoastersux: Not to try and cut it short, but like I said.
beb: Yeah, you got a lot of things coming up.
urfavoritecoastersux: Yeah, I will make some time next week for sure.
beb: Okay, cool. Yeah, I'll be around.
urfavoritecoastersux: So y 'all can expect an episode next week and then we will probably be on break for at least two weeks, possibly three. But I will try to get back into it as soon as I can. um But best way to keep up to date is signing up for our Discord. It costs nothing. It's free. There's a lot of great talk in there about all your favorite parks.
urfavoritecoastersux: And other stuff, I don't know.
urfavoritecoastersux: Just join. It's free.
urfavoritecoastersux: I don't know. You got anything else, Ben?
beb: oh Shit you're cutting out No, I'm all good.
urfavoritecoastersux: Oh, you got anything else, Ben?
beb: I'm just gonna fly out tomorrow, so I got a prep for that and whatnot ah I'm flying out to the DC area tomorrow night
urfavoritecoastersux: Oh, where are you heading to?
urfavoritecoastersux: Oh, you're going out tomorrow. Okay. Well, shit.
beb: Yeah, i look I literally booked it Saturday.
urfavoritecoastersux: I haven't.
beb: I booked it five days in advance.
beb: so
urfavoritecoastersux: Awesome. Well, have a good time and um I'm excited.
beb: i
urfavoritecoastersux: I'm excited for a good trip report next week. Take some notes like I did for Disneyland.
beb: yeah Yeah, the trip decision was literally like, I ate a big salad, so to speak, on Friday. Woke up on Saturday morning and was like,
beb: All right, fuck it. I'm going to go. So yeah, I'm excited.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, at least he slept on it.
urfavoritecoastersux: All right.
beb: Yeah. Watch after it's like the night of you like book like a five day Disney trip and it's like, Oh shit.
urfavoritecoastersux: Well, shit.
urfavoritecoastersux: Right. We're supposed to be there right now. Oh, shit.
beb: Oh fuck, my reservation's for tomorrow. God damn it.
urfavoritecoastersux: Can we make it to Disneyland by 8am?
urfavoritecoastersux: Alright, y 'all. Well, um... Shit, that's all I got for now. We will be back soon. Thank you for bearing with us through our breaks and whatnot. And we will talk again shortly, my friends. ah Thanks for hanging out, Ben. This has been fun.
beb: Yeah, for sure.
urfavoritecoastersux: Have a great time in DC.
beb: Enjoy your, uh, yeah, enjoy your move. Good luck.
urfavoritecoastersux: Oh, of course. Thank you. And until next time, your favorite coaster sucks.
beb: Your favorite coaster sucks.
