Zach: I'm Zach. and my X. Two. Causes brain damage

ben: I'm Ben and I'm gonna... Shed. or in the shed.

Zach: What's in the shed?

ben: Just me. It's always always me.

Zach: What song is it playing? Yeah. ah

ben: Uh huh. You're welcome. our theme music, I guess.

Zach: Oh, that's the rarest of the...

ben: Yeah.

Zach: All the shed programs.

Zach: Yo, Kings Island, can you work our theme music in as like a one in every 10 ,000 program?

ben: Yeah, the... ah

ben: I mean they really should. Have that um I mean, maybe they maybe they even do. It's a secret. Actually, that's not true. If Kings Island had like a secret one of every thousand, there would be some Kings Island fanboy that would know about it.

ben: And be like, I've gotten that 10 times already this season.

Zach: We need Lance to verify.

ben: Like, I remember when Boo Blasters was closing last summer. Um... Was it boob? Wait, no. Is it boobblasters?

Zach: Well, what it's like phantom theater now, I think

ben: But I think it closed closed.

Zach: Oh, I thought that was the one that turned into the Sally Dark ride. Guess I'm misremembering.

ben: No, well, the whole thing closed from what I remember. Like, like the the whole Sally Dark ride is closed. whatever theme it is.

Zach: but they opened a new one this year.

ben: Wait, did they?

Zach: Yeah, it's like the Phantom Theater, I'm pretty sure.

ben: Oh shit.

Zach: It won a golden ticket and everything.

ben: Wait really?

Zach: Yeah.

ben: Oh.

Zach: but but

ben: i I had no idea.

Zach: This is a... All rollercoaster podcast.

ben: Well, that's why.

Zach: but Yeah. I guess that's...

ben: Um...

Zach: a Why were your favorite coaster sucks and not your favorite dark ride sucks?

ben: Okay, yeah, you're okay shit Yeah, opened April 18th. of Yeah, this year. Crazy. Phantom Theater.

Zach: One of us was... Looking wild. We were on. hiatus.

ben: um Interesting. Okay. Jesus fucking Christ. Um...

ben: yeah we when we were there the last summer they were so okay i i guess i just thought they were closing the whole thing but i mean it's popular so it makes sense that they were

Zach: I mean...

ben: refurbing it. Um, But yeah, there were like a lot of fanboys in the line who were just like talking about and bragging about their score. And then there's the people apparently that I've like.

ben: maxed out the score Or something. whatever it's like 17 000 is the max or something Ugh.

Zach: Congratulations. congratulations

ben: Yeah. i figure i was we were like talking about it then i like i wonder how many times you would have to play it to figure it out right like what 12 times you do it a dozen times and like you know where everything is and then like where the bonus bonus target targets are I don't know I mean, I like...

Zach: Yeah.

ben: i like

Zach: I definitely feel by like... Your 25th ride. you're gonna be able to outscore everybody. who's written it that day, except for the people like you.

ben: Yeah.

ben: Because imagine if it was just like... uh an event just full of like all the high score people It's not even at that point like What are you in? doing.

ben: That's why, like... I like those rides, but and i'm not great at them like i i'm usually i'm kind of like always in the middle But, uh... I wish they just had a little bit more variability.

ben: That's all.

Zach: I mean, there's Sally Dark rides. I don't know they're They're really great. for what they are.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: they're much better than like A triotech?

ben: Which is...

Zach: Currently, fairy tales and knots. which I...

ben: oath

Zach: in Enjoy. Just.

Zach: immeasurable amounts more than Journey to the Iron Reef. which was... Unrideable.

ben: Okay. Well, remember the buried hills when we got stuck at the end? Fur. Like five minutes.

Zach: Mmm. No, but. Wait, yeah! Yeah!

ben: Yeah. Yeah.

Zach: We were in like the last scene or the second to last scene.

ben: And then you could shoot it, but it wasn't keeping score. Then eventually the scores just reset. and we're just And then you're just stuck in that scene.

Zach: but

ben: It's like, okay, what the hell is even happening? Yeah, it was like. They. They kept the same cars on the track. but probably is through some dumb, like.

ben: like park procedure they were only able to like load one card at a time so basically i don't know i don't know i don't know how many cars there are but essentially there was like one car in the station one car on the layout and then there were like six cars that were just stacked in the very last scene

Zach: That's right. That's right. What a classic Six Flags move.

ben: Yeah. Because it didn't seem like it was really like a ride malfunction. It seemed like that was just their like that was just the park's procedure. It was like... you know what i mean they're like they're only allowed to have one car loading at a time or something stupid.

Zach: Open air gates. Close air gates. Check restraints. Wait three minutes.

ben: Mhm.

Zach: dispatch

ben: Yeah.

Zach: Yeah, so that's triotech. So I'd say Sally's rides are much better on the whole. Because Sally actually manufactures... animatronics Witcher.

Zach: Really? Very good for what they are. And I'll. specifically point to um Justice League Battle for Metropolis at various Six Flags parks.

Zach: For evidence of the fairly robust animatronics.

ben: okay so that's i didn't i guess i didn't realize those new ones were also sally

Zach: Yeah. Like I said, they're... They're good.

ben: You know what's funny? I just realized this. Do you remember back in the day on Sifgam? world. Like. what was probably the most.

ben: Um... common and repetitive prediction. for that park. by a very prominent user aka purple purple merple

Zach: No.

ben: He always he was obsessed with the idea of it of great america getting a sally dark ride in the Southwest Territory Theater.

Zach: Well, that's fantastic.

ben: but i mean back from like oh five right you could just search his posts like if you went back into like his post history and just search sally dark ride it's probably been mentioned hundreds of times every every thread

Zach: I mean...

ben: Every week when there was a new thread about. you know. Great American Predictions. and manage the park type of thing it's just funny i didn't i didn't realize it but it was a meme It was it was always the Sally. Fuck.

ben: Okay, I thought the park. or Long day. I thought the computer was about to freeze or lock me out.

Zach: Uh oh.

ben: We're good now.

Zach: Well, I'd like to say first of all um

Zach: That person is a member of our discord

Zach: But so. I know they listen. So. Congratulations on getting your prediction right. Now I did see recently on the Six Flags Great America subreddit that They like other parks were doing a Survey. And one of the options was about.

Zach: 8. Texas. southern -themed Dark ride. Which pretty much... seemed almost assuredly to point to a re -theming.

Zach: Of.

ben: Yep.

Zach: Justice League? There were some other interesting things there. um There was a re -theming of the Mardi Gras area.

ben: yeah

Zach: Of Orleans Place? um

Zach: i don't remember what else was there but It was definitely interesting.

ben: I mean, I could definitely see Them wanting to strip. All of that justice. Justice League stuff. I don't even know what the license costs, but I'm sure it's insane.

Zach: Yeah, I mean I saw some speculation. that Superman and Dark Knight. would be... Unthemed. But...

Zach: I'm not. really convinced about that.

ben: well dark knight they could just Do it as.

ben: they could just they should they could you know what they should do is just theme it to the cta

Zach: They... could. Um...

ben: Like CTA. ah sewer rat or something. I don't know.

Zach: Yeah, that's ah that's a theme that I'm sure the CTA would sign off on.

ben: this is Okay, the Metra.

Zach: Yeah, the Metro. They're going to be like, yeah. Have you ridden the rat -themed coaster? That's us. good

Zach: Um... I also am not convinced that they would get rid of the. batman the ride theming

Zach: Nor the Joker theming.

ben: Yeah, but the Joker, is there even really theming of the Joker though?

Zach: Not specifically.

ben: Like.

Zach: But what else? Okay. If Batman the Ride doesn't get rethemed, what else would Joker be when it's purple and green and right next to Batman?

ben: Just... Jester's Wild Ride.

Zach: Interestingly, that was in the um concept for re -theming of Mardi Gras.

ben: Hmm.

Zach: Yeah.

ben: that makes i mean that makes jesters just do jesters wild ride or king chaos or something Um...

ben: because that's i mean that's i mean it's just a free spin it's not like There's what, like two plywood character cutouts in the queue line? It's not like a... you know there's not really much of a theme to it i always i always forget that ride is there too like Um...

ben: Which is funny.

Zach: Yeah, I think I've only been on it twice

ben: Yeah, same.

Zach: Because like what? Am I going to ride this again? like Sure, every ride's different. Yeah. It is, but like... What?

ben: Yeah.

ben: Um...

Zach: But yeah, I don't. I'm not really sure I see. the re -theming to the extent that some people seem to be fear -mongering.

Zach: To the level of.

ben: i would i would like it though i even it could honestly even for batman Um, It could be a really shitty. re -theme and i would I think I would be.

ben: happier than Well. Except for Batman.

Zach: That's what I'm saying.

ben: Like that one's tough.

Zach: If they retheme Batman, you know what it's going to become. The Ride.

ben: is uh so that's okay so that's yankee harbor Uh,

ben: You could. Paint it. Um...

Zach: No, it's DC Universe right now. So they could just bring back Yankee Harbor.

ben: well that's what i mean like why don't they just they should just do that like and get make get put in the yankee clipper is uh Is whirligig themed to something too right now?

Zach: DC super villains. Super. Fucking whatever.

ben: ah What the fuck? Yeah, just... get strip it, strip it all.

Zach: And. V2 is Flash. vertical velocity.

ben: Okay, yeah, I guess it does have a pretty... cohesive theme. that section now.

ben: But, like... I don't know

Zach: But they don't play. That awesome 70s ass version of drunken sailor anymore.

ben: That sucks.

Zach: Yeah, right.

ben: that one that one is that one is actually pretty good

Zach: Right there. Okay. I think. Anybody who's from Great America originally? And is from the... Era of when they played the original bark soundtrack would tell you that that song stood out.

ben: Mm hmm.

Zach: Because, like... It's very, very 70s. but it's also a drunken sailor.

ben: the

ben: yeah i always that one and um The front... Gate music. I really remember the most as a kid.

ben: um

Zach: The syncopated clock.

ben: Is that what it is?

Zach: Yep.

ben: um Wasn't there also... a The hell is it?

ben: Piano Man, Music Man, or... Um... Fuck. I can't even think of the melody right now.

Zach: The Entertainer played in Hometown Square.

ben: I don't think it was the entertainer.

ben: but it there' yeah there's like i I always have the memory of like hearing the front gate music. watching Shockwave test in the morning

Zach: I have a fairly complete.

ben: Like...

Zach: I would call it a 19. Ninety nine. version No. A ninety...

Zach: five version of the music. from the park if You need it. But also there's a SoundCloud page.

Zach: I can direct anybody to.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: I'll link it on our Discord. That has the original park music available

ben: Yeah. the

ben: I mean, there was also the time they brought it back in. a 09 or something. And... Everybody was... a freaking out about it

Zach: Yeah, I mean, it's really great music and I like it and it fits the different areas very well other than. DC Universe now and obviously Southwest is kind of an outlier because...

Zach: There was no original productions for Southwest as far as I'm aware.

ben: Mm hmm.

Zach: Um... I'll also say... This is a great opportunity to plug See the Carousel if you're interested in Six Flags Great America's history at all.

Zach: Go check out our. YFCS Productions. podcast called See the Carousel. It's a six episode. documentary miniseries.

Zach: about the history and development and growth of Six Flags, Great America, and Gurney, Illinois. That I produced. So. Go check that out

Zach: It's a couple years old at this point

ben: Yeah, that was... um Has been a while should I listen to that? I remember I listened to the whole thing. I like walked across Denver because my car was in the shop.

ben: That was...

Zach: Damn.

Zach: That's like. Two and a half, three hours of podcast.

ben: I think it was like an eight mile walk. Yeah.

ben: Speaking of walking... Yesterday I found... This isn't like a secret spot or anything necessarily, but. um So there's a trail that has been closed for a decade. And then I saw it on all trails that it reopened.

ben: Um... And so I did it yesterday. And it goes right above Red Rocks. To the point where because of the acoustics of that. Um, of like the whole amphitheater it's like laser clear.

ben: Sound. Like you can hear it so fucking clear. um And you're probably like 2 ,000 feet up. an elevation above red rocks looking down at it Um...

ben: Yeah, I was like, how did I never? just know this was here. It was pretty cool.

Zach: Yeah, I saw that picture that

ben: So it's like...

Zach: Looked beautiful and if the sounds that clear Man, that's a...

ben: I mean you're

Zach: That's a spot.

ben: I wouldn't necessarily call it like a free Red Rocks hack because... I mean, the trail is fucking insane it is a very so it's a very tough trail Um...

ben: You definitely have to earn it. And... You know, you're not like. you you are far away from it but it was just weird and i don't know have you ever heard of uh What is it? Acid bath?

ben: In ministry.

Zach: Definitely no ministry.

Zach: Jesus built my hot rod.

ben: Yes.

ben: i guess I had no idea who what who these bands were. Um... and i could tell the And it was also funny because the crowd at Red Rocks, like the parking lot was maybe like a third full.

ben: And all I remember hearing before the band went up at like 730. The guy got on mic and he's like. Last time I was at Red Rocks was... 1979 and then like the music started or something and

Zach: ah

ben: so like i definitely i kind of we were kind of joking like okay so this is definitely like a like a late season, low demand boomer show, but it was like metal. Um...

ben: I don't know

Zach: Yeah, ministries like, um... One of the OG industrial bands.

ben: Okay.

Zach: I know. it At least. Al Jorgensen. The main guy. I think. Maybe the whole band is from Chicago.

ben: Okay.

Zach: I'm not. super familiar with their catalog but I uh I definitely dig. What they do, you know

ben: Mm hmm.

Zach: What would you think? Because I've never seen him live.

ben: I mean... it It was far away. So, you know what I mean? It wasn't really like. You know, I didn't really hear it. It was just very like. um My friend made a comment. and He's like...

ben: this I'm getting into like a weird core memory of like... Bean. 16 or 17 and hanging out with my friend And his older brother.

ben: listening to Mudvayne and Limp Bizkit while his older brother and his older brother's friends are like doing it What did he say?

ben: rat poison 90s acid in like a shitty basement smoking cigarettes like And I was like, that's so specific, but also I kind of get what you're saying.

ben: Um,

Zach: Hmm.

Zach: Yay.

ben: As I go.

Zach: i think I, I. Can't say I identify, but I definitely can understand.

ben: And then... when we were leaving Well, as I was like this song is called lava and then the screens got orange It was just kind of funny.

Zach: oh that's cool

Zach: Well, that sounds like a fun time.

ben: So we might do it next week. It might be a weekly thing until the shows wind down. but as we were heading back to the car like yeah let's do this hike again this is cool hopefully there's like a cool band play next week and then We like.

ben: That's right. I looked up the schedule and it was. Uh...

ben: but the fuck was it Oh, yeah. Andrea. Bocelli and Foster the People.

Zach: They did that one song.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: Like 15 years ago

ben: Yeah, September Red Rock shows are definitely like... Um... Lower demand.

ben: but

Zach: I didn't know ministry. could do Red Rocks. Like, that's kind of a... Surprising to me, but you know. I'm not a booking agent. so

ben: Yeah, i mean I mean, it's a Tuesday in September, which means that at Red Rocks, it could be literally snowing. So it's just. ah

ben: yeah i mean even even so so we went to go see Goose last week. And every.

Zach: how was How was that?

ben: it was It was good. um but what was funny so they played like uh they played thursday friday saturday Those tickets hit. 400 bucks, 300 bucks.

Zach: Shit.

ben: for GA and then On Tuesday... Through a random text Someone was like. hey you guys want to go to goose they're playing again tonight and everyone's like wait where are they like When did they announce this? and then The tickets were $18.

ben: Um...

Zach: No shit.

ben: Because apparently everyone just forgot they had a fourth night. three nights after their last you know the last night that they played Um... And everyone we talked to in our section was just like.

ben: Yeah. Like I had no idea I was going to go, but the tickets were 300 bucks. And then I saw there were $18 today. And I guess. Everyone forgot that they were playing. Um...

ben: Plus it was before fish sticks weekend. So a lot of people were already in town. So... it was good It was a good show, though.

ben: Um...

Zach: Yeah, sounds I've always heard they're on the headier end of things. so

ben: Yeah.

Zach: Sounds like a heady weekend.

ben: For sure.

Zach: Are they on the balloony side or is that more of a fish thing?

ben: No, there more.

ben: What would they be?

ben: They're like... Yeah, no balloon is definitely fish That is like.

Zach: ah

ben: you know, boomers doing Multiple drugs, balloons. i guess like the funniest thing the funniest scene i saw was the Literally the first time I ever went to fish.

ben: And it was in... so they call it fish sticks because it's at dick's sporting good arena which is a i think it's like a 40 000 person venue 50 000 person venue Um...

ben: and it's in you know so imagine a football field or whatever, and then they play in the center. And we were down on the field. And then at the end of the show, all the lights came on.

ben: Which are you know? sporting good or sporting good there's a sporting event like basically spotlights. Right. So imagine like. All these people that have been doing drugs.

ben: All night. until and now it's like 11 p .m and just he's bright -ass lights are just like... bang and like the whole a venue just completely lit up under the most sterile bright -ass spotlights And everyone's just like blinded. It's like a deer in a headlights.

Zach: Oh man.

ben: You know what I mean? and all these like and so like all these like old boomers who have been like dancing and partying for five hours they have that everyone just like sit the lights come on everyone just sits down Everyone just sits down.

ben: And they're just like catching their breath and their eyes are huge. And everyone's like, no one's talking. And everyone just kind of looking around really slowly, like. Whoa. woe Okay. Like they have to like, you know, collect themselves.

Zach: What happened to the music man?

ben: Good.

ben: they're like fuck i gotta drive holy shit

Zach: Oh, i I should have taken that shit two hours earlier. Heh.

ben: It was so funny. And then like we're going up the stairs. going like up the stairs through these like bleachers and it's just everyone's just sitting everyone just sits down and just like resting

Zach: Man, does anybody have any water?

Zach: I'll take like the last sip from a bottle under a seat. I don't give a shit.

ben: so And then... Um... Second time I went there's just some dude the weirdest looking guy I've ever seen Just ripping a DMT vape. Just like.

ben: Hard. Like, he he probably ripped through a whole DMT cartridge in, like... the Probably the 40 minutes we were standing there. Because we were... we were we We got there too late. and We couldn't really find a section. So we were standing kind of in this.

ben: um like corner stair section and then this other guy was behind like directly behind us And he's just ripping the the DMT vape and it smells like burnt mothballs.

Zach: Ugh.

ben: Um... And I was like, I can't imagine just... going to a show by he yourself and just like ripping a DMT vape standing you know what i mean like watching a show And then there were these.

ben: Two. Also next to us, these two. Probably... They were definitely boomers. It was this cute, like cute boomer, like lesbian couple.

ben: And they were really fucked up. And they were kind of talking to each other, but they weren't making any sense. And they kept saying the same things over and over and over to each other.

ben: It's just like oh my god. Look at the lights. Yeah, this is amazing the lights. Yeah. Oh look at that one Oh, isn't this incredible? Yeah, this is so nice. This is so great. Like they were so verbal with what they were.

ben: experiencing you know their like sensory input was like so verbal Um...

Zach: ah

ben: Yeah, it's it's ah it's such a crazy... Scene.

Zach: I like how you started doing like a Bob's Burgers voice too.

ben: That's kind of what it was. Just imagine what we're very raspy. Harsh Raspi. voice. that who's like that's like fucked up

ben: But um... Yeah. Music.

ben: Um...

Zach: i Kind of want to see a fish show

ben: I definitely, yeah, you got to go at least once. It's like a. Especially the. Shakedown Street. With all the vendors.

ben: the pop -up Um... And just... literally it's a whole it's like an entire economy It's... it's food it's drinks it's water it's merch it's drugs it's balloons it's uh Yeah. You could probably like buy insurance there.

ben: Like...

Zach: I'm gonna be honest. um My dad took me to see uh further festival with Bob Weir and Phil Lesht and Bill Kreutzman and...

Zach: Um,

Zach: You know. Uh...

Zach: Shit.

Zach: Ah. um I'm coming up Mickey Hart. There we go.

ben: Okay.

Zach: The Chord 4. After Jerry died.

ben: yeah

Zach: At Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. I was. Nine years old. And so it wasn't the Grateful Dead exactly, but it was the core of horror.

Zach: in various iterations. Um... And... I was nine years old And he's like, no, it's really cool. And I think it was the first time I ever tried a vegetarian burrito.

Zach: And also... um I remember it was an am an outdoor amphitheater. And we were in these like seats. and A guy next to me?

Zach: Pass me a joint.

Zach: And I was like, uh, I'm good. And I like tugged on my dad's shirt. I'm like, Hey dad. And he he took it.

ben: Nice.

Zach: Yeah, so that's a... Core memory that's ah embedded in there somewhere Anyway.

ben: says

Zach: I think a fish show would be great. I went to Bob Weir's memorial. service here in San Francisco back in January. It was lovely. And uh...

Zach: I did get to see dead and company back in. 2018 also at Alpine Valley

ben: Okay. Nice. Yeah. i That was, I think that was the same year I saw him. in Denver.

Zach: Yeah, they were good

ben: That was... Yeah.

Zach: It's definitely like... Bluesier?

ben: Mm hmm.

Zach: you know John Mayer. But it was still Bobby Weir and... Mickey Hart. and Bill Kreutzman at that time.

Zach: This is no Phil Lasht.

Zach: But. I remember it being a good show

Zach: And like, no. Fuck, I live in San Francisco. You know what I mean?

ben: Yeah.

Zach: That's ah its own kind of thing Graham Lush did a show at Golden Gate Park a couple weeks back, but I didn't get to go. Unfortunately. unfortunately

ben: Is that... um I'm assuming that park probably holds a lot of people. Is that it? like That's like a venue though, right?

Zach: yeah it was at like a an amphitheater that's at the park because golden gate park is huge

ben: Okay.

Zach: It's bigger than Central Park in New York.

Zach: Which is crazy because San Francisco is 7 miles by 7 miles.

ben: yeah

Zach: So it's wild. the The amount of awesome parks we have in this city. Speaking of parks we should probably talk about some theme parks.

ben: Yeah, which that shit. that we kind of missed during our break. Um...

Zach: Yeah, we missed some pretty significant shit

ben: Lots of...

ben: I would say Kuma was a big one. I fucked up. I thought Kuma was going to go to the 12th. Apparently it was the second. Um... Or the first.

ben: something like that which is which is fine but also like i was like thinking about i'm like man the idea the idea of getting on a plane and going to florida you know, always just. Didn't, uh...

Zach: I like...

ben: I didn't.

Zach: Eat.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: Yeah, I'm with you. I... was kind of in the headspace of like Let me see if I can arrange to get Two Koombas. closing day, which happened to be the same.

Zach: As. Air Force One.

Zach: Because I thought... It was theoretically possible. to fly into Georgia, Atlanta that morning. Get a lap or two in on Air Force One.

Zach: And then... Drive On down to Tampa. and get to bush gardens and get a lap or two in on kumba And then... Crashing fly on out, but

Zach: Turns out that wasn't possible.

ben: yeah and i mean the good thing the good news is that airy force one is I kind of had the feeling it was going to get really, when they announced the closure, I wasn't really concerned about it.

ben: Not getting relocated. Um... I got it.

Zach: same i'm like it's an rmc

ben: Yeah.

Zach: Everybody. it's Like everybody. who has written it. that I know of has spoken very highly of it.

Zach: And in this economy, getting an RMC for cheaper than a... An RMC? That's a... You know, that ain't nothing.

ben: Yep. And um... I... And like, as far as Kumba, my last run on Kumba. really sucked. And I was kind of just.

ben: You know. Although i I'm realizing that's... Riding rides exclusively in the back row outside seat. isn't. necessarily like a good Um...

ben: representation of rights at times so Maybe that was my fault. It was like 100 degrees. Basically a fully empty train.

ben: Uh...

Zach: Yeah, that could be...

ben: Outside, back.

Zach: Challenging.

ben: Yeah. Some might have been my bad. But um... Yeah, and I mean...

ben: It was good. But... I didn't feel... I didn't feel weird about that one. Cause the thing is like that ride. I know it's, I get it's unique, but also but it's not like, uh,

ben: I don't know, like what rides would you like actually have to travel for if they were closing? Like I kind of have like a short list of ah of rides. Um, But...

Zach: Magnum or Millennium.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: um If they hadn't announced. X two.

Zach: um, Fucking. Same category, right? If they would have announced. Shockwave. which now is looking very questionable at best.

ben: Oh he yeah, at Over Texas. Do you think you think that I...

Zach: Yep.

ben: Here's the thing, though. i does that Is that right expensive, the run? I don't know if it's actually... Like. I guess people have this assumption that these old Schwartz coughs are like expensive to maintain, but. I mean, based on what is it just?

ben: train parts and lift motors because doesn't premiere do most of that stuff anyway I mean...

Zach: Probably, but... At this point... It's gotta be custom work. Even for premiere, you know what I mean?

ben: Yeah.

ben: But yeah, I definitely go. Shockwave would be a good one let's travel forward definitely magnum magnum i would plan I'd plan like a weekend.

ben: for Magnum.

Zach: Desperado if they were like we're gonna open it for a month

ben: Yeah.

Zach: and then close it forever Desperado. Um, Um...

Zach: I don't know. Outside of that, yeah. the the The coasters I would actually travel for.

ben: one that um I wish I got. another ride on was avalanche because i think They did not. announce that closure.

Zach: Oh yeah, Avalanche was awesome, dude. Oh, and fucking Kingda Ka. If they would have announced Kingda Ka, I would have made sure.

Zach: to have Booked a ah trip especially.

ben: Yeah. Yeah, that one. That one hurt because I was in a... I was in. Uh... I can't remember where exactly he lives or maybe I won't say.

ben: Our friend of the show, Nathan. I was... i was I was at his place. And I was supposed to do kind of like a Six Flags America Friday. Busch Garden Saturday, Kings Dominion Sunday.

ben: Ended up doing Six f Flags America and Bush in the same day. And then we did Kings Island Saturday. And then on Sunday... um I was like... Shit great adventure is only like six hours from here or like it was like six or seven hours Um...

ben: And I was like, Nah, they're not going to. They won't close Kingda Ka. to ka And then, of course, passed the opportunity to go get home. And then I think it was maybe a couple of weeks after that. they They announced it.

Zach: Yeah, dude

ben: But...

Zach: Bullshit. I would have definitely. Made a trip to have been there

Zach: And I... Kind of tried to make a trip happen for Airy force one and Kumba Just unfortunately didn't work out Because it was the same timing as.

Zach: what was happening with our buddy Logan. and Everything up there. and uh I couldn't make it to that either. I couldn't make anything happen that weekend. Unfortunately.

Zach: but

ben: It's a it's a weird time to close a ride too right like what what it what advantage do you get out of closing it that weekend versus say Labor Day weekend.

ben: You know, like what? What advantage? How much of a head start is the park getting? on on their on their new dry transition by closing it. a couple weeks early.

Zach: I mean with Air Force One, probably a lot. Because they could start the sale and transaction and also cut the staff immediately because they had no other rides there

ben: That's true.

Zach: With Kumba. Zero. because they still haven't announced. as of recording um What? Kumba's Revenge actually is.

ben: I could see that being a...

ben: I could see that being like an Intamin, kind of like a Pantheon.

ben: like a Like a near Pantheon clone, almost.

Zach: And I mean, that could. That could work for that park. Although it would have to be pretty. distinguishable from cheetah hunt.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: um,

ben: Conda like you're like a condo kind of clone

Zach: Yeah, something along those lines could definitely work. And maybe something even taller, you know? With a big. Top hat in it

Zach: But. There have been a couple rides announced this year. for next year.

ben: Oh, yeah. let's uh go to There's a new for 2027.

ben: Eagles Pursuit at Waldemere. Oh, shit.

Zach: That one looks pretty cool.

ben: there' Yeah, they're getting a Vekoma Like a... Like a Big Bear Mountain kind of coaster. Those rides, I... Really want to.

ben: try that because they look really they actually look like the perfect blend of Um, like family coaster and you know. Something that's fun to ride.

Zach: Yeah, it looks like a thrilling family coaster.

ben: Oh, shit. Cannonball. At Holiday World.

Zach: Oh yeah.

ben: the The recreational pool themed coaster.

Zach: Yep.

ben: Which is honestly kind of hilarious. And it's very on brand for Holiday World. Um...

ben: I love, I kind of love, so. holiday world especially i don't know last time when i was there in a high dose of edibles I was like, this part kind of reminds me of Like a fake. theme Theme park.

ben: Um.

ben: I don't know. Imagine like ah like a Disney show or a Nickelodeon show. where they go to a theme park but the theme park isn't a real theme park it's just like a fake one on a sound stage the themes in holiday world kind of remind me of of like Something like that.

Zach: Christmas. Fourth of July. Halloween.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: Thanksgiving.

ben: this

Zach: Gobbler getaway.

ben: listen

ben: And even the even the the Thanksgiving coaster has, you go through grandma's house and it even has ah a bathroom with a toilet.

Zach: Good gravy.

ben: Yeah. Yeah, so let's see. Cannonball is a 75 -foot. Drop. $20 million? dollars

ben: Either that is a... Trump -inflated price or... That's insane. for that?

Zach: Yeah, that makes me wonder. Um, what What are your thoughts on... Night Flight Express.

ben: Which one is that?

Zach: At Dollywood?

ben: Night flight.

Zach: It just opened

ben: Night Flight Express. What?

ben: What is it?

Zach: As far as I can tell. ah Spoiler alerts.

Zach: it's One of those mock ride. water Ride roller coasters.

ben: Oh wait. Oh wait, it's operating.

Zach: Yeah.

ben: But there's no photos of it on our CDB.

Zach: Nope.

ben: That's weird. So is it indoors?

Zach: Yep.

ben: Okay.

ben: Weird.

ben: night flight and there's no pov released and it's a five minute It's a five minute ride.

Zach: No official one.

ben: Okay.

Zach: It looks... Good, but definitely not. Great.

ben: Well, it's 1 ,200 feet of track and a top speed of 29 miles per hour. And it's somehow five minutes and 30 seconds.

Zach: Yep.

ben: Okay.

ben: Weird.

Zach: I think that's... some

Zach: The future of coasters for now?

ben: Oh, you know what's funny on RCDB? One of... Dollywood's existing coasters was called Scamper. And the only photo that exists of it is...

ben: A family photo of like. A guy with his two little kids pumping. a uh like a water well thing

Zach: Okay.

ben: with the ride barely in the background. like it's bare You can barely see the coaster, but it's it's just funny because it's the only one that exists. Um...

ben: Oh, and then it went to Cedar Point, a scamper. Interesting.

Zach: Huh.

ben: It's a wooden wild mouse.

Zach: From what year?

ben: 70.

Zach: Whoa. whoa

ben: Oh shit, their L &T coasts are closed. at not At Dollywood.

Zach: L and T.

ben: Yeah, it was like that little kiddie coaster. VeggieTales.

Zach: Oh yeah, I went on that one.

Zach: I think it was so funny they had a VeggieTales. Teamed. Fucking rollercoaster there.

ben: I didn't know they had a mine train.

Zach: Really?

ben: Yeah, it closed in 98.

Zach: hu

ben: Thunder Express.

Zach: Me need a... Tommy or Josh to come on here and Fucking school us on some Dollywood history.

ben: Yeah, it only opened. It was only open for 10 years. Oh, okay. It went to Magic Springs.

ben: Wait a minute. Okay, so...

ben: Excuse me. it Okay, so it was at Six Flags St. Louis. From 71 to 87 and then it moved to Dollywood And then it moved to... Uh...

ben: Magic Springs.

Zach: Big Bad John.

Zach: Right.

ben: Yeah, it's weird that you could relocate a coaster like that.

Zach: It is.

ben: Because... Because it's a very terrain -heavy coaster.

Zach: But. St. Louis right they had Like I think Twin? Mine train coasters?

ben: Oh yeah, that's right. Yep.

Zach: And then if I'm not mistaken. One of them got like. Prototype. Arrow stand -up trains?

ben: Yeah.

Zach: And then somebody died?

ben: Yeah.

Zach: And I think. Around the same time, or maybe... Later. Worlds of Fun also got an Arrow stand -up coaster?

ben: Yeah, on an aero corkscrew coaster.

Zach: Oh, like Orient Express or something.

ben: No, it was there it was just a standard corkscrew, just like a... like a two corkscrew. Model. Like the classic, like the classic corkscrew coaster.

Zach: Oh, wow. Like the. 180 degree turn out the station.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: Lift. Dip. 180 degree turn. Drop. 180 degree turn. Two corkscrews, 180 degree turn, brake station.

ben: Yep.

Zach: Wow. But...

ben: Yeah, I

Zach: That one also had an accident though, right

ben: Uh... Yeah, I think so.

Zach: Yeah, Arrow and stand -ups, they were not a... Good. combination, I guess.

ben: Well, if you ever look at the pictures of the... of the trains they look insane

Zach: How so?

ben: It's like they look like all plastic. They're like... plastic stand -up coffins. And...

Zach: ah

ben: It looks like the ah the over -the -shoulder restraints don't look like they adjust to your height. And then it was a like a... Just like a so like a buckle.

ben: you know what i mean like a backpack strap buckle across the waist

Zach: Wow.

Zach: They must have saw that Togo was doing stand -ups and Giovanola and they were like We can do stand -ups.

ben: i think it was before that though I think it was in... Hold on.

ben: Worlds of fun.

ben: extreme yeah or ex Scream roller? Oh no, Extreme Roller, yeah. Coaster EXT.

ben: um Yep, the stand -up trains. God damn, that looks so bad.

ben: Also, too, because aero coasters are already not heartlined. You know, so it's like... um Dude, it looks so bad. Like kids, the kids that are riding it. Yeah. Imagine an over the shoulder restraint that doesn't adjust to your height.

ben: So if you're short, it's basically just like choking you, like pushing down on your neck.

Zach: oh my god that's terrible

Zach: And I mean, I can imagine unheartlined standups because. I rode Iron Wolf many, many times.

ben: Hmm. That one was that one was fine though

Zach: It wasn't terrible.

ben: I mean, it definitely...

Zach: But it wasn't, it wasn't Heartline.

ben: ah yeah Yeah, that ride was heart -lined.

ben: it uh it probably wasn't heartline well but it definitely was because uh that whole the um you know the whole so the whole part with like that that last half of the ride you know where it does your like s turn and stuff

Zach: Yeah, but think about the first drop

ben: well yeah they didn't perfect it You know.

Zach: I'm just saying

ben: Yeah, I'm looking at photos right now. it looked it was It was fine. It was fine for the time.

Zach: It was okay.

ben: I'm sure it was smooth when it opened.

Zach: a

Zach: I don't know that for sure. but

ben: Yeah, I didn't.

Zach: I'm going with a gut feeling here.

ben: I don't think I wrote it until... 97.

Zach: Yeah, it had to be late 90s early 2000s for me, so

ben: I just, I don't know. when i was a kid riding stand -up coasters um i don't know what's weird is like i always had it as a kid and i hated it but um

ben: Have you ever... Okay, have you ever stuck your hands out like a helicopter and spun really fast? And you know that tingly feeling when the blood goes... to like your fingertips.

Zach: Kinda.

ben: Um, I always got that on stand -up coasters as a kid. Like my feet would... feel i felt like all the blood was like going to my feet and they'd start tingling and kind of hurting

Zach: Oh shit.

ben: Um.

Zach: I've had that happen on...

ben: Don't.

Zach: A couple. B &M Inverts.

ben: Yeah, yeah. I know you're talking about. But then it just it stopped happening. like Uh, Because I loved...

ben: I loved Iron Wolf, and i I don't know why. I... the standup coaster as a kid. i was like obsessed with. But... Always had that weird pain in my feet.

ben: with like the tingliness

ben: And then one day it just didn't happen anymore.

Zach: Interesting. man Iron Wolf always reminds me of that freaking Q house that's still there.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: But like... Specifically like. The.

Zach: Looney Tunes cartoons would be playing on those old TVs.

ben: Yep. Well into the 2000s.

Zach: Mm -hmm

Zach: um Later on it was like They would also have like the. ah Weird Six Flags branded content.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: We're having a funnel eating contest.

ben: ah Funnel eating.

Zach: Hmm. Uh, funnel cake eating.

ben: It's just like

ben: shoving funnel cakes through funnels in somebody's mouth.

Zach: i Mean that's pretty much what it was

ben: See what they should do. is imagine if those queue line videos or imagine like if they did a Meow Wolf, but like it had a theme park theme.

Zach: ah

ben: And so part of the Meow Wolf exhibit was waiting in the queue line that went nowhere, and then... it was uh like a parody of the six flags like those videos but it was just Fucking...

ben: Wild, morbid shit.

Zach: I feel like if it was Meow Wolf, it'd be wading into a queue. And then it'd be like this portal. And you step through it. And you're in the gift shop.

ben: It's kind of like a Mount Olympus. Arc set up.

Zach: Yeah.

ben: Yeah the... I have a... I have a core memory of... Waiting in. The queue for ah Iron and Wolf, probably in the... It was probably in the late 90s with my dad.

ben: And. Yeah, the Looney Tunes, because there's the Q House is probably like halfway full. It was maybe like a 30 -minute wait. Because that ride was... um Kind of popular, I guess, until...

ben: Raging ball opened. Until that era.

Zach: Yeah, until like...

Zach: I'd say ah definitely until Superman opened.

Zach: Because I remember in middle school.

Zach: I had a postcard from the park. That I like. Hung up. in my locker And it had like. Batman and Iron Wolf and Shockwave and.

Zach: Shit, I think American Eagle

ben: Mm -hmm

Zach: And it had like the. 90s Six Flags Great America logo.

Zach: With the exclamation point.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: And the flags.

ben: Yeah.

ben: Amen.

Zach: But the blue. The white and blue.

ben: Yeah, I mean, at least until... um

ben: yeah all i remember was it was like one year we went iron wolf had a long line and then the year raging bull opened the part it was We went to the park on a weekend. Raging Bull had like a 90 minute wait.

ben: End.

ben: We rode Raging Bull in the morning. And then for some reason I was like. no iron wolf is better like i want to ride iron wolf so me and my dad went to iron wolf later in the day my mom and my sister rode raging bull And my dad was like, like I don't like this ride.

ben: and i was just like no i want red iron wolf like and then It was like a walk -on.

Zach: ah

ben: And I was like, whoa, this is so crazy. Like the rides I walk, you know, there's no one in line.

ben: And that's where I encountered... It's probably like and as I was a nine And there is this... Oh, that's right. It was during the... the Remember the cheerleading weekend thing?

Zach: Yep.

ben: competition That's when we were there. Which was always fucking it was always slammed and so fucking irritating

Zach: Ooh.

ben: And. ah We were waiting in the We were waiting in line for the front row. And then. This. Group of girls.

ben: they like came up and they were in the second row and they started to like Try to move in front of us. and like basically cut us off in our air gate And then... um the mom was with them she's like oh no like they're first and then this girl's like yeah but We have the Fast Pass.

ben: And they were trying to like cut. in front of us it was kind of it was like a you know One of those learning experiences as a kid.

Zach: Did... Did you get. into the front row.

ben: Yeah, the mom eventually stopped stopped them from doing that, but...

ben: Um... You know. i was two I was nine. I didn't know what was going on.

Zach: Yeah, no, I mean... i didn' Assholes.

ben: the

Zach: That sounds like some... um Chill with your competition, crowd.

ben: yeah that was and ah always if you go back on the on the board on the forums that was always infamously like the worst day you could go to the park

Zach: Yeah, it was always that and like read to succeed

ben: Oh my god, that's right. Do they still do that? I wonder.

Zach: ah not entirely sure. But I know for like a long ass time that was like The absolute worst time even worse than fright fest

ben: Yeah.

ben: I think we even went to the park on Read to Succeed last weekend.

Zach: Very good.

ben: Um... because i think it was that it fell on the same time so we used to get discounted tickets from I think Pizza Hut. There was this thing at our school where... i think it maybe i don't think it was read to succeed branded i think Wisconsin had like a slightly different It was the same concept, but it had a different name.

ben: but it was the same thing right you read like Whatever. One thousand. Or like... 100 minutes or 500 minutes or some. I don't know, whatever the number was. and then at the end of the year you got like a discounted ticket or something

Zach: Yeah, that's read to succeed.

ben: And. Yeah. yeah ours was just a different name but it always expired Um...

Zach: second week of August.

ben: What? Yeah. Yeah.

ben: Read.

Zach: I mean, yeah, that's same same shit, even if it had a different name.

Zach: Because, like... That's when like they would park guests In the employee lot. And they would park employees in the freaking field across the street.

ben: Oh shit.

Zach: Yeah.

Zach: It got pretty gnarly.

ben: read

Zach: I wonder if it's still like that. Like you were saying. like

Zach: um There's one person now I know Could answer that so Hopefully if they're listening, they do.

Zach: Because they know who they are.

ben: Reads Yeah.

ben: Yeah, it was allowed students grade K through six to earn a free admission to Six Flags. for logging 360 minutes of recreational reading.

Zach: Wreck reading, baby. We're going to Six Flags.

ben: Oh they killed it in 2020.

Zach: Oh, so it's done. So no. The answer is conclusively no.

ben: Too many iPad babies.

ben: Kids are too stupid these days to read.

Zach: Yeah, kids don't read

ben: It's like... Log 2000. hours of mr beast and get a free Uh... Free admission.

Zach: Coke. ah A free can of Coke inside of Six Flags. If. You sign up for a Six Flags subscription and watch five videos.

ben: ph

Zach: Once inside the park. And. You take on a loan for 36 % interest.

ben: You know, I've never experienced, I've never seen. a ticket for a park that has like a free food or drink. inside of the park You know, like Rollercoaster Tycoon.

ben: We're like. you set the admission like a hundred dollars but then the guys could come walk in with like Free voucher for... A drink.

Zach: I mean, that's kind of what like the dining plans are.

ben: Yeah.

ben: Oh, okay. So, okay. Yeah, we had... um Yeah, we had... Book it.

ben: No. Book it was the pizza.

Zach: Book it. I remember that one. A free personal pan pizza for reading. Three, four, five, whatever amount of books.

ben: I think what was what was funny is that the book it. It was a higher amount of reading than... the read to succeed.

Zach: yeah six flags is like read a sentence just make sure your family shows up and pays for full price tickets

ben: Yeah, 306 hours. Six hours of recreational reading for free admission. And then... Book It was like...

ben: 10 hours for a free personal pizza

Zach: yeah because think about the the ah roi difference right like a personal Pan pizza. There's no guarantee parents are gonna pay for anything.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: They could just get the free pan pizza and leave. But like it's Six Flags. Like. They're not just going to send the kid on their own.

ben: yeah

Zach: Some parent is going to have to pay for admission.

ben: Yeah.

ben: it's a pretty It's a pretty clever... Pretty clever little. Scheme.

Zach: Six Flags is like did you read a YouTube video today? Great. Here's a ticket.

ben: suspicious

Zach: Bring an adult.

ben: Project 2013.

ben: Yeah, I was trying to look up breed to succeed. Um... Oh, they added Wrath of Rakshasa onto the Sifgam World banner. Um,

Zach: Not surprising.

ben: Yeah, read. so let's see in the photo sections remember they're like they used to have like a pretty good photo gallery thing. I don't know if it's still up.

Zach: Yeah.

ben: User photo gallery. Oh, that's right. You have to be in the forums

Zach: Well shit

ben: That's hilarious, though.

ben: That they discontinued it in 2020.

Zach: It is. They're like, nobody reads anymore.

ben: Because...

Zach: And nobody goes to Six Flags anymore. Yeah. ah

ben: the

ben: Yeah, the... um

ben: Well also too that was probably like covid school time so

Zach: Yeah.

ben: Love it.

Zach: And they were like, they we we surveyed children. Hey, kids, if you read, do you want a ticket to Six Flags or a free personal pizza? EEEEEEEE what

Zach: All right, kill the...

ben: I keep...

Zach: Kill it. Kill it all.

ben: I keep getting fed these videos about um Gen... Yeah, Gen Beta. which are

Zach: What's that?

ben: I think, so Gen Beta are... Kids born, I think, between... 2020 and 2036.

Zach: Oh, so my kid.

ben: Yeah. And it's talking about how like there are. um Teachers who are. are like you know like preschool teachers or like kindergarten teachers And they're like.

ben: Basically... saying there's like a crisis of There's, you know... Of like the iPad generation. About how there's like. you know. kids coming into kindergarten who I don't have like.

ben: Motor skills. Or like the ability to like pinch with their hands because they. they don't like play You know, like parents just like throw an iPad in front of them.

Zach: oh Wow

Zach: That's... Ridiculous.

ben: And I don't have a kid so I won't comment on... iPad or no iPad I think the problem is that for at least what I've seen in the wild isn't so much that the kid wants the iPad but they learn to use the iPad because they imitate their parents being on their phone.

ben: it's like you know what i mean it's like uh Or like every time, oh my God, I saw a Facebook photo. It was someone I worked with at Cedar Point. And it was. Um...

ben: Her. posting like a photo of like her kids and it was maybe like a four -year -old a seven -year -old and like a nine -year -old And it was just like an innocent cashflow photo, but there are three. Kids are just like sitting on phones and iPads on the couch.

Zach: oop

ben: And it was the caption was really like, having a fun day at grandma's. But I didn't know if...

Zach: Yeah, well, grandparents

ben: I didn't know if it.

Zach: Do that shit too.

ben: well that's what i mean the grant the grandma was probably also on a phone

Zach: Yeah, dude that's what grandparents do for sure. I will say that as a parent.

Zach: grandparents be like here watch some tv

ben: Yeah.

Zach: I'm like, don't you want to like. Look at him or talk to him. And then like. I'll look at him while he's watching TV.

Zach: And like... Okay. Well, I guess. That's fine because he doesn't do a lot of that When he's not with his grandparents, which is not often so We're leaving now because we don't get a lot of free time.

Zach: From the kid.

Zach: I digress. but

Zach: Um. What else is going on in roller coasters? world.

ben: um Wiener Prater is getting an unknown new coaster.

Zach: That's interesting Is anything known about it?

ben: It is unknown.

Zach: Oh, okay. so No.

ben: LSM launch vertical rollback.

Zach: Interesting.

Zach: Isn't everything there like a... different Like an independent showman?

ben: I think so, but I don't really know how the... permanent installations work then. Because...

Zach: They can be repossessed.

ben: yeah i mean does this work is it like an hoa kind of thing where Like...

Zach: Somebody can take over here, right?

ben: Yeah, like, uh...

Zach: You you pay now or else Wilhelm's taking over your ride.

ben: I mean, unless it's just as simple as like there's permanent installations and then. Um...

ben: Then there's like, ah you know, slots for... traveling people. I don't know.

ben: because i'm sure there's like i'm sure there's a single land owner and maybe the land owner is the one who purchases. the full -time coasters and then there's you know whatever one a half or two thirds of it is is open for... lease.

Zach: I like to picture it like every ride. The owner is operating the ride. So like. You want a ride? The Ring of Fire.

Zach: You better show up when it's not. Mike's lunch break or he's got to take a piss or whatever

ben: Yeah.

ben: It's kind of like the lakeside method. or sometimes they're so short staffed you have to like flag down an employee and it's like uh hey can we go on the drop tower and then they're like uh yeah hold on And then...

ben: Like. they'll just walk with you to the ride and they're like all right and then they just set you up and It was like. Do you want to? Go on it again. Bye.

Zach: Yeah. No. I'm good. I think we want to head over and get some popcorn next. Can you? Do that too, or? Hmph.

ben: i mean i know i've I know I've shared it, but... ah In South Dakota, they had a... a um It's not a miler. What's the Alan Herschel?

ben: Little dippers.

Zach: Yeah, yeah.

ben: Yeah. and um We went to this and it was like. kind of It was a gift shop that was outside of... Deadwood? Which is outside of you know, like um I was going to say the four horsemen, not the four. What am I thinking of? ah The president's in the mountain.

ben: You know what I mean? the ah

Zach: Mount Rushmore.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: The forest men of the apocalypse. Yeah, pretty close.

ben: Yeah, the... ah Rushmore. and um we like go to this gift shop and We're like, hey, can we ride the coaster? and And their their theme park is literally just a grass field in the back of the gift shop next to a gas station.

ben: You know, so it's just like. they just have to like cut the tall ass grass in paths. where the rides are set up. i don't know and uh And then we go to the counter and then she's like.

ben: uh Yeah, I think. jeff is just work today uh hold on a second and then They like get on the phone and like call this dude. And then she's just like, yeah, he'll be here and he'll be here soon.

ben: And so we're just waiting. And then this dude in like a white t -shirt. like a dirty sweaty white t -shirt just pulls up in like a beat -up truck and parks and then goes inside and then Uh...

ben: You kind of like, he's like. uh you guys want to ride some rides and we're like yeah we want to ride the coaster and he's like okay and then he like walks back with us It's just so like...

Zach: ah

ben: It's just so informal, but... It's funny.

Zach: We weren't expecting you.

ben: this is

Zach: We do accept tips.

Zach: You know, like... Yeah. OK.

ben: It's like that movie theater. Montana, the movie screen roller driving movie theater coaster.

Zach: Yeah, it's just off 94. What?

ben: Yeah, the... people like you had to pay um you had to buy a movie ticket to get into the theater Right. So imagine pulling up to a game. We're like, no, we're not here for the movie. but We're here for the coast. And you're just like, what?

ben: they're like do we have to buy a movie to like get in and then basically we're like okay fine we'll buy a ticket for Ice Age. And then... And then we park and then we're literally the first people there. And the movie doesn't start for almost. two hours.

ben: And then we go into the concession stand and we're like asking someone to. op who can operate the coaster and then it was the same deal they had to like call a dude and like drove up on the truck parked next to the ride

ben: Yeah, the FEC coaster. Things are always. Interesting.

Zach: Especially when they're like stand alone in that way.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: It's like... The fuck is actually going on here?

Zach: weren't You weren't expecting weird fucking... adolescents to show up to ride this thing? Out of town adolescence.

Zach: Anyway, fucking... Shit dude.

Zach: Is there other news we should cover right now?

ben: and no

ben: It's uh...

ben: I need to ride a roller coaster, like a major coaster. Soon.

Zach: Yeah, I feel like I'm due as well. I haven't like actually. ridden like a major coaster since Last April.

ben: Okay.

ben: Yeah, it's... It's time I am. My list for the year is...

ben: That Gerstlauer at Glenwood and...

ben: The fucking Zyklon at Lakeside. and The two ends. Edmonton. better than other years but also almost frustrating to be at three theme parks and

ben: Nothing major, but um I might go to Knoebels.

Zach: Nice.

ben: for their October thing.

Zach: Yeah, well, maybe we can try to. um figure out some sort of meetup for next year.

ben: Like a spring kind of Texas. Or, uh... Um...

ben: Yeah.

Zach: I suppose that could work. that I think that depends. Like Werewolf Gorge?

ben: Oh yeah. because the fiesta will get So that that's a few new rides. that's

Zach: And then Dr. Diabolical.

ben: Yeah.

Zach: Yeah.

ben: Hey. it could be like a you know like um

ben: Good old like that first time The first old meetup.

Zach: Yeah.

ben: Little bit of a replay. Just adding overtaxes.

Zach: That's a long drive.

ben: Yes. Seven hours?

Zach: Yeah. Something like that.

ben: Doable.

Zach: it's It's doable, but it's long.

ben: Yeah, I mean, I think that the key would be

ben: I guess one day at, um... Well, there'd be no ZDTs. Could probably skip the boardwalk shit. Um...

Zach: I mean, Iron Shark.

ben: Oh yeah.

Zach: We didn't do that last time.

ben: There might be a way to do it. Um... yeah we'll we'll think through it give it a think

Zach: You want to do Texas? I feel like we should do East Coast.
