Speaker: what's the deal let me try that again it's the down with dp podcast with robert dunn and ron prendamano in three time
Speaker: Look at you or your Buc-ee's coffee mug. It's a Buc-ee's mug, yeah. Yeah, it is. That's cool. even though Even though they only want to build in conservative states now, but I still like Buc-ee's. know, what the fuck, why?
Speaker: Money's good from anyone.
Speaker: Anyway, this is the Down With DP podcast. this time you i did I showed off my Buc-ee's lunchbox, right? No, you didn't. Oh! hold was going to introduce us, everybody, but a apparently and Robert... This is the Down with the DP podcast. I'm your host, Ron Prendamano, and with me, getting his Bucky's Lunchbox, is Robert Dunn.
Speaker: Here we go. Look at this Bucky's lunch. For those of you watching on the screen, look at that. See, liberals can like conservative things too. Okay. Yeah. Liberals like lunchboxes too. Listen, I can't eat it anymore, but that Texas cheesesteak brisket thing and a fucking wrap tortilla burrito thing. Fucking amazing.
Speaker: Yeah, I had it. The station food shouldn't be that good. Also, cleanest bathrooms in the world. Yes. Cleanest fucking bathrooms. I literally ate off the, I literally ate a bowl of cereal in the urinal. That's how clean it was. Yeah.
Speaker: My mom actually refuses to go to Bucky's because of, a because they only want to build the conservative states. And I'm like, why don't you just go use the bathroom? If anything, they're spending money so you can use the bathroom.
Speaker: Right, right. yeah like Yeah. And if their gas is cheaper, I'm sorry. I'm going to put gas in my car. Yeah, I get it. I get it. But isn't it true that... Are they making one in Brooksville or Spring Hill? Did I hear that? I don't know.
Speaker: Let's take a look. I don't know. don't know. But that would be cool. I would visit it. um And also I got my...
Speaker: New locations in Buc-ee's. Here we go. Dinosaur chopsticks. Okay. this that's You have dinosaur chopsticks? have dinosaur chopsticks, everyone. A lot of video fun today. Okay. Coming in 2026, Florida. Coming in St. Florida. from 2029 to 2031.
Speaker: So no, nothing Spring Hill, Brooksville, Hernando County, Florida. and then nothing from twenty twenty nine to twenty thirty one so no nothing in springhill brooksville arnando county florida Oh, Cal is a little closer.
Speaker: right. But that's not coming until, uh, 2028. Well, what we do have on the agenda today, though, What do we have on the agenda, Robert? I mean, we're going to talking about some mail-in ballot shit that's happening. Yeah, buddy. That's important. That's important. Mitch. Mitch the bitch is back. Mitch is back. Mitch is back. bitch Mitch. Mitch.
Speaker: Mitch is back. I don't know why the cheering button are children, but yeah I made it really creepy. Mitch sure does. um Then we're going to have Robert Rance. We're going to talk about this weird ass. Weird fucking interview. Willie weird.
Speaker: Yeah. Willie weird. Do some cold jokes and some sports. Yeah. That's what we're going do. So Ron, you what's going on Cause I, what's going on with this Supreme court stuff.
Speaker: the Supreme court, so Trump was trying to, he was trying to get more of a restriction on mail-in ballots. However, the Supreme Court rejected it. Oh, no They rejected it. So that's kind of a win for...
Speaker: people it's a win for people um it allows it allows the states to continue sending out mail-in ballots under the same process processes they've used for um years and have accounted for nearly a third of the votes cast so you request one they give it to you end of story i've used absentee voting mail-in ballot is what we like to call it now it's the same fucking thing i've been doing that and um i did it when i was a resident in florida and lived in new york it's It's great. um But yeah.
Speaker: However, two justices, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, publicly dissented. Oh, OK. Fuck you guys. Well, I would say too fucking bad. yeah But with something crazy going on to still politically related. um Did you see any of the photos of Mitch coming back to quote? un He was in a wheelchair and one, right?
Speaker: He was in a wheelchair and he's also doing that thing. ah Medical people, please chime in ah where he just. I don't know. He could just be smiling, but he kind of has that like his mind is gone. Smile. Do you know what talking about? Yes. When you see like an old person just kind of sitting by themselves and they're just smiling.
Speaker: That's what it looked like. Again, i don't know. There's no video of it. Also, one of the things that I notice is when he was like in the hospital, he we were getting a lot of coherent quotes from him, really elegantly worded. But not once has anyone interviewed him to speak. He just looks he looks frail. He doesn't look like he is ready to work. No, he doesn't look like he can, you know, he doesn't. right He can it doesn't look like he can run the Republican Party anymore.
Speaker: No, i' no. He's got to retire. And that has nothing to do with the fact he's a Republican. It's the fact that you should have you should retire like that. um That's that what was it? That senator from California that died, Diane Feldstein or whatever.
Speaker: Yeah, that that would be my question to like conservatives. like Do you think this is a good thing or do you think, hey, Mitch's got to hang it up? like I wouldn't think even hardcore Republicans would want this. Isn't there another Republican that could do everything that you want them to do as well? like Why does it have to be Mitch?
Speaker: Yeah, I... It's yeah, I get it. He's he's been there. he he has, you know, he's kind of like the Nancy Pelosi of the Republican Party. You know, he's he's been there forever. He runs the party. But like, don't you want somebody stronger to lead? Right.
Speaker: Right now. It's weird. It'd be weird if you're for this or it or you're really dumb if you think he's OK, because he's clearly not OK. Like in like even if he is OK, he's too fucking old, dude.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Like, what more could what more do you want? Like, what what could he really do? Would you trust him to give a speech at like an event? Like, would you would to to represent your political party?
Speaker: uh feinstein senator diane feinstein of california yes that oh i already alreadyy forgot um father but uh um yeah i you don't i do i wouldn't want somebody of that age representing my party like you have to know when to give up the reins yeah and and nancy as much as i'm not a big fan of her she knew when to give up the reins after her husband was attacked she's like i'm not doing this shit anymore yeah yeah Same thing with um I mean, he's dead now, but President Carter, even though he was very old, like there was something about him where you could listen to him speak on something. Not saying he's giving an elegant speech, but it was still coherent enough to say something and say something with, you know, with meaning. Right. It was like it was like an old wise man speaking.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah. Very much like that. Mitch, I just think, is gone. I think Mitch, you just got to retire, bro. it's ne like Like, I even see him in the wheelchair and he's dressed in a suit. And I'm like, he didn't dress himself. Like, even even Mitt Romney knew. It's like, yeah, it's time for me to step down and let somebody else take over. Like, I'm i'm old. I want to live out my years.
Speaker: Like, I'm sorry. I think i think if i reach the age of if I was in Congress and I reached the age of 70, unless I was in superb help health, I'd probably retire because I want to enjoy my life.
Speaker: Right. You've made so much money. um yeah Not in Congress. not yeah Not in Congress in other ways. But I don't know. Maybe there's something about like I've always and I think Lord of the Rings said this. I'm like, no, maybe not. Lord of the Rings.
Speaker: Anyway, there there's some saying where it was like. what like what could men possibly want who have all the money in the world like what more could you possibly want and it would be power i think lord of the rings said what do what do men with power want more power they might have said something that don't lord of the rings fans come tell me what i'm what i'm wrong about but yeah like if have all the money in the world what more could you possibly want and it would be like well power it's like not even about money anymore i think donald trump is a great example
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. had money. was a celebrity. He was a celebrity. act. I think the general public had no problem with him. Cheating on his wife could get away with it. You know what i mean? Grabbing him by the pussy. Yeah. He could, you know, he, that's what he kind of messed up a good, good thing for him. I think so. Cause like, and he chases the power. I mean, being president is extremely powerful and he feeds off that.
Speaker: That's why he was so pissed off when he lost the election. And that's why he wants to stay there forever. He wants the power. I get it. You know, it's fun. How is it turn on, man? It is. I get it. I completely understand that I think most human beings understand that.
Speaker: It's funny because I don't, I don't even think he wanted to. I don't think he wanted to win the second term, but I don't think he wanted to lose. That makes sense. I think, no, I disagree. i think he wanted to. You think he wanted it? Yeah. you Who Trump? He wanted it.
Speaker: Yeah. He wanted to back in that office so bad. That's why he ran again. Yeah. Um, Yeah. Do you think he would like, do you think he would want to run a third time? If he could overturn the constitution of the United States, or if he can make a new amendment saying, yes, he could, he absolutely would run again.
Speaker: Absolutely. Or he would just say no elections. I'm just, oh, so dictatorship kind Yeah. That's kind of what I think would happen. And then Donald Don jr. Would be after him so on and so forth.
Speaker: I do. I will say this though. I think Donald Trump is more equipped to run office than any of his children. That you might have something there. I will. that weird?
Speaker: no I don't think his kids are smart enough. I mean, say what you want about Donald Trump. i um we People who listen the show know we're not fans of him. But the guy is an evil genius.
Speaker: Yeah. OK, he he he knows what he's doing. He doesn't care. His kids. I don't think they're that smart. I don't think it's I just don't. I don't think his kids have like the manipulate the manipulation skills that. No, I don't think so. I think Donald Trump Jr. could, you know, would lose a debate a heartbeat. Yeah.
Speaker: I don't. They can't make a cult like Trump can. No, I don't think so. No, I don't think they can. And I think they know that in a lot of ways. Barron, maybe. But then again, who fucking knows about Barron?
Speaker: I don't know anything about Baron. don't know. i just know he's tall. And then there was one of the rumors he was like, he has a transgender friend or a transgender girlfriend or something like that. Like, yeah, I don't know. I like i always wanted Baron to be this Luke Skywalker character where he like takes down his father, but I don't and know. It's not going happen.
Speaker: I don't. Yeah. But um i don't know. Maybe he'll run for it Do you think we'll get another Trump in the office? No, no, I don't. I like the kids i mean, I mean, if they actually ah like through the actual election process that we have. No. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: No. mean, i mean, if Trump were to not give up the office and then, yes, another Trump would be there. But do I think if we stay stick to our elections? No, I don't think another Trump. Yeah. and And I'm not saying we had another Kennedy. We only had, we've only had one. No, but our our t junior RFK, RFK, not junior, excuse me, correction was running and he, you know, yeah.
Speaker: Lost. Yeah. A few of the Kennedys ran and oh, no, no. Ted Kennedy ran. ted no ted kennedy ran Oh, that's right. Okay. He ran the lost. He lost in the primaries, I believe. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: Because Kennedy's was, were like, you know, it was like political royalty. Yeah. to be studyy and Yeah. They still are. They probably always will be. But I could see like some old nostalgic racism, like coming out ah in the future of like, if someone with the Trump name. Nostalgic racism. You heard me. You heard what I said. I remember back in the day when they couldn't do this and they couldn't do that. Yeah. Yeah, no, I'm not even joking. Like, let's say we get let's say we're in the worst of it right now and then we get better.
Speaker: There's still those races are still going to be there. And then someone else with the Trump name comes in and they're like, oh, I remember where I could be racist. That was awesome. Let's go. kind of like what we already had. It's like you he gave yeah racist you gave racist people permission to be racist.
Speaker: Yeah, should that be part of the title? Nostalgic Racism? that's That's my stand-up special. Nostalgic Racism. That's a great title, too. I mean, i mean what you i mean when you give people when you give hate permission to be hateful, this is what you like how Like, Trump gets elected, what happens? People start spray-painting swastikas all over the place. Like, that's... that I would not... and No matter what party I was on, I do not want to be associated with that.
Speaker: No, absolutely not. Yeah. um Okay. Excuse me. Did you burp? Did you burp? You were about to. No, Ron. i would I would never do that on my own show. what you are you Are you crazy?
Speaker: You'll get in trouble. know you will. ah You know what I would do? now what? What would you do? I'd probably do a little...
Speaker: So you know what's funny, Ron, is that i was I've been in a good mood lately, mostly because I've been working a lot, and maybe my mind hasn't been in my my grumpy man stage. So I literally had to think of one really hard today. and um One thing that I noticed that people that I don't know if you've ever had this with friends, you go to a bar and you're going to order beers and they don't know what they want. So, you know, you go to a bar where they give you a little shot of like the beer to taste. Have you ever had a friend that did like and not to get free beer? They just legitimately don't know what beer to get. They've taken like five or more samples of beer. And at that point, it's like, dude, just fucking choose a beer.
Speaker: Just pick a beer. Go all in. Take a chance in life. Maybe you won't like it. That's okay. You finish it. But you really... You need you need like five samples to feel... To find that perfect beer so that we can just catch up.
Speaker: You need that perfect beer? Really? Really? Back to you, Ron. fuck did you go? Hey, there you are. Hey. yeah sorry. It was a blink. But we're still here. So did you hear any of that?
Speaker: ah So... You're upset that people catch like want to sample beers while you catch up? Yeah. so if i ah Sorry, there might have been a blip there. But what I was saying was, like for instance, this is a friend of mine. I think he listens to the podcast too. And I'm sorry. I love i love this friend to death. um But there was one there's one time we had met up for beers. And it was just catching up. Haven't seen each other in a while. And it was one of those bars where they're like, oh, do you want to try this? And they give you a little sample of beer. Maybe you take another one.
Speaker: You know like, oh, I don't know about that one Do you have this one? But this was there was like five or more samples going on. And it's like, at at some point, it's like, hey, buddy, choose a fucking beer.
Speaker: It's fine. You're going to be okay. We're just catching up on shit. You're going to be fine. Choose a beer. um May I go? yeah Yeah. I have to disagree with you on this, Robert. oh yeah so I think the... um Catching up and the beer are irrelevant to each other.
Speaker: Okay. However, I have been in a bar where I have sampled, I think three is the most I've sampled. Okay. that's it Because I'm trying, you know. That's, three is like the limit. You go to a craft brewery. Okay, let's say we go to a craft brewery. They make their own beer.
Speaker: You're not sure what you're in the mood for. Okay. So it's like, Oh, that Porter looks good. Oh, that red ale looks good. Oh, that log a light lager. Sure. Let me try all of them. If the bar serves flights of beer, do that.
Speaker: Get a yeah flight of beer. So you can try something different. That's what I would recommend. If the bar doesn't, yeah, have an idea of what you're going to get. Like if you're, if you're drinking a Porter and then switching to a raspberry sour, um, you know, very different beers.
Speaker: So figure your fucking life out at that point. I guess. But, you know, it you know, beer, you know, i it depends on what for me. It depends on my mood. Like to today, it's 70 degrees here.
Speaker: OK. That's 20 degrees Celsius for everyone else. So. What am I going to drink? Do I want something on the lighter side? Maybe I want maybe i want a Guinness. Maybe once, you know, something a little heartier, you know, because it's it's got a crisp chill in the air. So I might want something to warm me up, you know.
Speaker: So, yeah you know, be nice to your friend. He misses you. And he wants to enjoy a good beer while he enjoys the moment with you. Nah, fuck it. You drink that beer, motherfucker. I think I want to say it was like over three. I don't know. I think I am the type where I take risks with the menu. I do.
Speaker: Like, I'll look at a beer and I don't know if I'm going like it, but I'm like, I'm going to go for it. But that's just me. I guess I can't expect it. I also don't want to waste the bartender's time by sampling. Even if the bar is slow, i don't want to waste the bartender's time. Let me get a sample of this, this, this, and this. yeah. like that that's my That's my thinking. I don't want to waste the bartender's time.
Speaker: So a couple samples, then I'll figure it out, because I don't want to piss the bartender off. No, I get it. I it. The nicer I'm going to the bartender, usually the faster my drink gets to me. So... That's true. Well, you know, Ron, that was just something on my mind, you know? no it's fine. ah That was what I like doing. Thank you for listening to my rant, everybody.
Speaker: That was Robert Rantz. Robert Rantz. Robert Rantz. Good morning. I don't give a Good job, buddy.
Speaker: Thank you. Thank That wasn't bad, right? Yeah. Um... That was good. Thank you. So here's something that i can rant about, and I think you can too. I say i think we're both going to rant about this shit. Did you see that embarrassing Tilly Norwood interview? Which, by the way, just a recap for people who don't know, Tilly Norwood is an AI actress starring in film. ain't real.
Speaker: She ain't real. real She ain't real. She ain't going to be on no red carpet. Nope. This is an AI red carpet. She ain't real. She's in some bullshit. She's probably in some bullshit British movie.
Speaker: And she did an interview. She did. um And she did an interview with NBC news. Yeah. I think that's the one I saw. She interviewed with a Chloe somebody. I forget her name.
Speaker: But, um, What did you think of it, Robert? what What's your thoughts on this? So I was shocked by how bad the AI was because if you go into chat GPT and like do the voice where, you know, you're talking to the voice and it talks back, it's weird. way better than whatever the fuck they're using for her. Like the one in chat GPT sounds pretty real at times. That was, she was like, like there was odd pauses. Like it was loading. It was fucking bizarre. I'm like, wait, so how is the acting unless there's like mega, like hands on editing, which is basically then it's just animation.
Speaker: Like what I don't. So she said she considers herself a painter. She's not trying to be a human. She considers herself paintbrush in this type of world that she's in. However, I don't know. She looks pretty fucking human to me ah Kind of. I felt like her face looked odd. like So from the photos that I've seen of her versus this interview, they look like two completely different people in my opinion.
Speaker: Yeah. They did not look. there And why does she have an accent? Is she British? She's like British or Irish or something. like you yeah I think, well, I think the movie she's doing is made by a British company. says Okay. So that would make sense. But yeah, it's, it was otherwise American. moral and Emily Blunt said it was really, really scary.
Speaker: And it is fucking terrifying. Like, will AI take our jobs away? Very possible in the entertainment industry. If we allow this to continue, very possible. You know, what the thing that upset me is they asked her that they're like, what is what is your idea on um like AI taking over or something? And she she you know, she gave the ai answer. where It's like, I think that is a legitimate concern. And it is something that's on my mind. I'm like, no, it fucking isn't. You don't think.
Speaker: What do you mean? Like, it's a genuine concern to me. I'm like, no, it's fucking not. You have no feelings. What are you talking about? It's terrifying. I mean, and she compared herself to Scarlett Johansson.
Speaker: See, that part I didn't see, so that's crazy. Yeah, like, if you could compare it, she's like, she's she goes the whole paintbrush thing again, and then she's, the whole paintbrush thing again, and she's like, you know, I, I, you know, ah I guess I like Scarlett Johansson. I'm like, what?
Speaker: Just because Scarlett Johansson played AI doesn't mean you are Scarlett Johansson. Right. Also you and I are closer to Scarlett Johansson than she is. Yeah. Actually human beings. If you, I think we said this all on the pre-show, if you cannot do cocaine, you should, you can't do it. Yeah. Yeah. we We said a few things, but we were like, yeah, if you, if you can't do a bunch of blow at an after party, sorry, you can't make in Hollywood. Sorry, dude. Nice try. Nice try. Tilly.
Speaker: Get out of here, Tilly. Like, do I think well but somebody came, i think somebody came forward. it was one of the AI companies that by the end of the decade, which isn't far, um, AI could take over.
Speaker: Yeah. By the end of the decade. Yeah. So you're telling me in, in June of 2029, AI going to rule the world. Yeah.
Speaker: Have we learned nothing from Terminator? Yeah, isn't a big person that's forefronting it? ah What's his name from Shark Tank? i don wonderful I don't He's really a proponent of like building the data centers. Also, someone i saw um made a someone I know made a post of kind of a different take on, like because you hear these AI companies, like they themselves are also saying like AI could take over.
Speaker: But and so some people, ah at least this guy was speculating that maybe they've hit their limit and they don't have anything else to go up. Like, is this just is the is the bubble going to burst?
Speaker: So it's more of like, we got to stop AI. We got to close it down. This is going to be I don't know. that was How much AI has already figured out how to reboot themselves? Yeah. and And it's scary that I'm referring ai as themselves.
Speaker: Right, right. it's I mean, just that that interview is terrifying because it's like you are talking to a fucking computer right now. Right. like yeah and you're true And you're giving it the attention like it's a real person, which is also so terrifying.
Speaker: And there's something about going to school for journalism and then you find yourself interviewing a fucking computer. Isn't that fucking crazy? Like, what scares me the most, honestly, is not even, because there's AI miniseries now. Like, I don't know if I've talked about verticals, but verticals are basically- You haven't ranted about verticals. I'm surprised you haven't ranted ranted about verticals. I should rant about them. But basically they're little like soap operas you watch on your phone, but now they're going fully AI. They are addicting.
Speaker: Are they? ah So I have a friend that I've worked with a couple of times and she is like addicted nonstop to these. To like the bad acting soap opera bullshit? Yep. ye How? my i think I think it's an algorithm because you watch them on TikTok. I think it's like an algorithm thing where they just kind of like,
Speaker: ah hone in on your what you like yeah it's terrifying and some of them are kind of sexual oh they are they're very sexual i'm like well i'm a horndog so i'm basically watching softcore porn right now oh she has giant tits oh my gosh now i'm watching this oh They're fucking. Oh my God. Yeah.
Speaker: It's. Yeah. Well, I was going to say um that what, what scares me is people falling for it. Like you're going to hear audiences going to these AI actress starring movies and,
Speaker: enjoying it like stupid, you know, like no frontal lobe general audience people that just eat it up. um I would like to, I would like to imagine that us as cinema lovers everywhere have a bit more respect for ourselves, but I would hope so. I mean, yeah, I would hate to lose my job to an AI type thing.
Speaker: Right. Right. Like, you know, as, as, as a comedian, like, like I've mentioned this before, people already use AI to help them write jokes. Right. Yep. do I do not do that.
Speaker: i know I have never used AI to write a joke. Yeah. It defeats the purpose of being a comedian in my eyes. Yeah, I totally get you there. um Yeah. Voice over work. That's another thing that can go. I mean, that's already starting in a lot of ways. Hollywood needs to do better and protect.
Speaker: And I think I think they are. I think they are attempting SAG after is, I think, did something a few months ago. You would know your union. um it's It's just I know at the end of the day, it's going to be about the almighty dollar. So but we'll see. It's just so if people don't go for it, it's like the high frame. Remember when movies were doing like 60 frames a second in theaters and people are like, they look fucking weird. I don't like it. Then they stopped.
Speaker: People didn't like it. So if enough people don't like it, they're not going to do it. Cause if people going buy tickets, they're not going to do it. It's that simple. So hopefully I'm just hoping that movie goers. Aren't going to just take that in and like, I don't know. I just don't think you want that to be speaking of AI taking jobs. You think AI could ever be a flight attendant?
Speaker: Um, in a sense where, um yeah i i like there's a sushi place where there there's like a robot that drops off stuff. i'm not And I'm not saying flight attendants are just people that drop off stuff. Obviously, that's what you just fucking said.
Speaker: But yeah. um But what I'm saying is they like if I really had to think about it, I think that what's missing is like if something bad happened, having a humanoid person to get you to safety.
Speaker: That's where because sure, like there's more to the job. That's why I wanted to elaborate here. But there's more to the job than passing out things. And there's more to the job. And even some flights do it where they now just show a video on how to do seatbelts and stuff. Oh, the safety demo. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. But, um but yeah, when it comes to like safety and stuff, I don't, I just i don't know, like, what's it going to, what's it going to do? Like everyone, that's exactly right. If somebody has a heart attack on the plane and stuff yeah like that, or if somebody has a, if somebody has a panic attack, which happens quite frequently, yeah not not crazy frequently, but it happens right often. um You know, yeah I get people coming back to me. It's like,
Speaker: excuse me, um I'm a real nervous flyer. Is is is this turbulence okay? Yeah, this is normal. This is absolutely normal. I mean, it's i mean it's ah it's a little rough right now, but it's this is normal. Everything's fine.
Speaker: So let's... is it I don't think AI would be... oring a robot, a humanoid type thing would be that comforting. me like Everything is fine. Just sleep. Everything will be fine. There are no issues with the aircraft.
Speaker: yeah We are on our way to California. We will be there in approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. Yeah, or or it's it would be like, um you know, is this turbulence normal?
Speaker: Though I know that's a big concern to you. you know And maybe, yeah, it it would just be the same fucking answer like every time. And like if somebody has a heart attack on the plane, like you know things like that, and having, God forbid, have to evacuate a plane. Yeah. yeah And, you know, that's i don' I don't think so.
Speaker: Pilots pretty much already, autopilot's pretty much a plane to begin with, but you still need the pilots there. God forbid something goes wrong. I know I don't ever want to be ah on a fully automated flight ever. No, I want someone. I woman i want someone in those seats. Absolutely. At least have someone be some. Two people. Always two people. Yeah. Yeah, of course. um But I still haven't taken a Waymo yet.
Speaker: I kind of want to. I have not taken a Waymo. They're creepy as fuck. I see them in San Francisco all the time. Like creepy as fuck. Cause now they have the Waymo vans where I'm at. I've seen the vans. I've seen the vans. However, there are Jaguars, Jaguar cars. They're very nice. They're very nice cars.
Speaker: I was actually, I took notice that. Cause I'm like, Ooh, which car, which car company got, got the reins on this. And yeah, so I'm sure we're going to, I know there's been other companies that have tried so far. Waymo is the top.
Speaker: I know there was another company that never got outside of San Francisco. Cause it like, it had too many errors and it just failed. But I don't know. I'm sure there will be um ones in the future.
Speaker: i think so. So. I think so. But yeah. um And there's something in the sports world. Is that what's happening? Yes, there is. And you wanted me to do it like an old timey announcer you said last week. So I'm to attempt to do that.
Speaker: Okay, cool. Well, let's go.
Speaker: is Ron with Sports. Sports. Well, Robert, not since 2009 have the Jets and the Giants both been 1-0 on their first week in football. That's right. Football has kicked off and the Jets and Giants are both undefeated. Let's see how long this is going to go. Also, the New York Yankees. That's right. The New York Yankees have clinched their playoff spot in the 2026 MLB playoffs. And last night, the Mets. That's right. The New York Mets. played the Baltimore Orioles. That's right, the Baltimore Orioles were where Pete Alonzo went to former Mets. And what happened? The Mets lost 2-1, and now they have been eliminated from playoff contention. The Mets are out. The Yankees are in. The Jets and Giants are 1-0. It's a great time to be a New York sports fan. Back to you, Robert.
Speaker: Whoa, there we go, everybody. it's okay. as I took all that in. That was fun. Yeah, that's right. That's right. um Well, ah that's that's sports for you. That's sports for you. Shane Gillis has a whole cool bit. I think it's Shane Gillis about how white people used to sound cool when they kind of all sounded like that.
Speaker: And then. Yeah. Yeah. yeah And there's a guy that kind of went viral. Funny enough, right after we recorded our last episode. And there's a guy that went viral of doing an impression of it in his car. It was just like impeccable timing. It was very strange.
Speaker: And so I'm currently in a lawsuit with him. And cool we are. We are. The Down With DP podcast is currently suing him. So I'm, yeah. I'm going to need $50,000 from you and pay lawyer fees.
Speaker: but Okay, not a problem. I got you. But hey, apparently we got some jokes, though. I have a joke. I have a joke. Do you have a joke?
Speaker: No, but I was going to do little something funny. All right. Well, so let's do it, everybody.
Speaker: All right. So this is where we we write jokes to each other. ah And we haven't we haven't we haven't read them before.
Speaker: No, we haven't read them before, Ron. No. So I'm going to read Ron's joke. He's going to read my joke, kind of, and we're going to go with it. All right. i already caught some of the keywords here. All right. Here we go.
Speaker: A man wanted to test what was healthier. One semi-sweet chocolate chunk cookie from Crumble or six cans of Coors Light. Based on calories alone, the cookie had 710 calories.
Speaker: The beer, 612 calories. So next time you want Crumble cookie, have a beer instead. All right. Punchline is still loading. All right. I didn't say there was going to be a punchline.
Speaker: Here, ah because we were talking about it, I told AI to write me a cold joke. Are you son of a bitch? Let's see. Did you really? Yeah. People say AI is going to replace comedians, which is ridiculous. AI can't understand what makes something funny.
Speaker: Keep going. Oh, there's more? Yeah. what What are you seeing? Okay, there we go. There we go. Oh. No, no, the way it's the way the way it's printed out. and left yeah That'd be fun. Although, to be fair, neither can most comedians. The difference is when a comedian tells a bad joke, you can blame the comedian.
Speaker: When AI tells a bad joke, you just realize the machine was trained on the internet, so technically, where the joke?
Speaker: Thank you for all.
Speaker: hilarious can't wait for their i'd rather have no punchline than that yes yeah i agree because it came from a human being so i i will always prefer that but i don't know cold joke i'll i'll definitely try to come up with a human-based cold joke next time how's about that ron um mean how do you like them want me to do an ai cold joke you want to see what my microsoft co-pilot does for me Would I? I'd love that.
Speaker: That would be really funny. Let's do it. We're doing an AI cold joke. AI from your k dia for a i cold jokes.
Speaker: Write me. Let's see. Write me a cold joke. Okay. And I'll just read it. I'm not going to paste it. I'm just gonna read it oh you don't want me to perform it?
Speaker: No, I don't.
Speaker: All right, Ron, here's the joke. Here's a cold joke that's ice cold. Why did the snowman get kicked out of the grocery store? Because he kept icing the prices. but
Speaker: yeah oh
Speaker: And then it says, if you want colder, I can go full Arctic. and I'm going write full Arctic. Oh, are we ready for full Arctic? I don't know. We're going full Arctic. almost lost my lung laughing so hard, Ron.
Speaker: Why don't polar bears ever get lost? Because they always follow their North Pole. That sounds sexual. i don't I don't know. We're done. I always follow my North Pole. Yeah. Well, thank you, AI. Thank you, Microsoft Copilot.
Speaker: I can't wait to see that AI at the Comedy Store where I pay $150. It's gonna be great. we're We're fucking getting there. All right. where yeah we we We kind of are, though. we kind of well is it Is it time? tomorrow We got something from actual humans. Actually...
Speaker: I know to're playing I'm playing the Penetrating Questions, which I probably shouldn't, because we had someone write in a cold joke. That's right, we did. so it's part of the Penetrating Questions, so I think you should do the Penetrating Questions thing, and we'll just go right into it.
Speaker: Okay, well, cool. Let's do it.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. um I haven't had my headphones on this whole time. hope everything's OK. We don't get any echo, echo, echo, echo. So this is Penetrating Questions, where people write in a question, a thought, an idea, a comment, a cold joke in this case. And we read them on the air.
Speaker: So um it's completely anonymous. If you want it to be, it's entirely up to you. um Robert, you um yeah you ah you want to read it? Yeah, apparently this is meant for me. So this is this legit says cold joke for Robert. It legit says that. So um all right, go ahead. We go.
Speaker: Also, they wrote cold joke for Rob. So I'm trying to go down the list of people that call me Rob. It's probably somebody. It's probably somebody I know. Yeah. All right. Here we go. What's the difference between jam and jelly?
Speaker: I can't jelly my dick in your butt.
Speaker: I think I know who wrote it, but that's still pretty funny. That is funny because jam and your butt. Okay. I like that. like i like yeah i like
Speaker: like that. That was good. and I actually like getting cold jokes from ah our audience. That was good. it was fun yeah That was cute. I liked it. Good job, whoever you are out there. Okay. but next The next one.
Speaker: But now we have now we got penetrating questions, Ron. Yes. Now we actually have penetrating questions. yeah The first one is from Herr Butter. ah up Meaning Mr. Butter. What the hell happened to your interns? I always felt schadenfreude when you would reprimand them.
Speaker: Did they finally shape up and start doing things right? Or, in my opinion, this is more likely, did they perish in the Down with d the do db podcast dungeon because you forgot to water them? The people demand answers.
Speaker: um Well, I would say that they've that they have shaped up. They have shaped up. Yeah, they have. They um because they finally shut the fuck up. Yeah, they finally shut their fucking mouth. So hair butter. They have finally learned to, like Robert said, shut the fuck up. And is there a dungeon? No, there's no dungeon.
Speaker: No, I don't care what they say. There's just a basement with chains and waits for them not to go anywhere. But it's not a dungeon. It's not like nice chains, though. Yeah. And there's carpet. There's carpet. yeah There is there's carpet. So fully furnished, fully furnished and fish heads and small rations of food. And yeah, they see the bathroom. But it's not a dungeon.
Speaker: OK, yeah, it's wallpaper. Not a dungeon. Yeah, I love the wallpaper, actually. I'm like pelicans. It's really cute. Yeah, you know, it's really, I really love what they did with it, too, because a lot of their, like, scratch marks from their nails from flying at it, out of, like, out of panic, I guess. Yeah. they And it really adds a nice texture to the think it's beautiful. it really is nice. It really is nice. so You know, it's just, you know, people want to keep their jobs nowadays, Harry Potter. It's, uh.
Speaker: You know, they know what's at risk. So, yeah. yeah and And the interns know that this on their resume makes them amazing. So they might not have seen their families and there might be wanted posters, but this is for their job. and this is Who needs a family when you have AI?
Speaker: Right. know great You don't need a friends or my family. And unfortunately, there might be some truth to that. Yeah, actually. Yeah, true. um But yeah, I've already feel like really gross and nauseous giving him this much attention, um which I ah just I don't want to take it away from us and give it to fucking them. But yeah we love them. We do love them and respect them. We do. um And ah yeah, if they or their families reach out for help, it's just we're just fucking part of the job. This is part of the job.
Speaker: It's a little inside joke we got. Anyway, moving on before I fucking throw up. um Fucking cunts. Anyway, we got another question from Geeky Chiquita. I have no idea who this is. But they wrote that this morning after I posted a penetrating question. So thank you. Ooh, okay. For this afternoon.
Speaker: How do you treat your significant other over the years? Does the lovey-dovey phase go away? How do you keep the spark alive? Good question. Very good question. I think I know who this is. I think it's somebody from ah from New York. I could be wrong, though. um Robert, how long you've been with your significant other?
Speaker: ah Over two years. Two years. So still pretty young of a relationship, right? and Would you guys say you're still in a lovey-dovey phase kind of thing? Yeah, I would say. Okay. Yeah, I saw pictures of you guys recently. You both looked great. Yeah, we had a wedding.
Speaker: Yeah, you looked fantastic. Thanks. I've been with my wife for 17 years, married for 11. um Does the lovey-dovey phase go away?
Speaker: Yes. But it doesn't go away, it changes. Okay. Okay, you don't... right When you've been with somebody as long as I have, you...
Speaker: Like the love is there, but you do have to do things to kind of keep the spark alive. You know, yeah you have to pay attention to one another. You have to communicate still have to make time for those intimate times. That is huge. I mean, I always joke saying you got to go down on your wife.
Speaker: lot of truth to that. Yeah, I agree. But, you know, um you know, take each other out on dates and stuff like that. So there's a lovey dovey. It changes. It's not like, oh, like, oh, I want to be around you all the time.
Speaker: might be, um I don't know farting next to each other or something like that. It could be something like that. it's It changes. um But yeah, it's how do we treat each other over the years? ah You have good days, bad days, good weeks, bad weeks, bad months, bad years, good, great years. I mean, you know, living with another person is not easy.
Speaker: Yeah, that's a big part of too. It is not easy to live with another person, especially when you're, Especially when you get older and you get into a relationship. Like, Jess and I have been together since we were 22 and married. and um And living together since we were 24.
Speaker: So, yeah. it's where're We're used to each other at this point. It still presents challenges sometimes. But we are used to each other. Yeah, I think that's a big thing like because you could be in a great relationship where you both go home to your homes. But once you start living with each other, that's a different thing. I would say with me is I still have that that urge to want to see her happy about something. You know what i mean? Like try to make her happy with something I've done or an idea I have, or even something as simple as like cooking dinner and it yeah just hits the spot. Like I still, yeah, I still, I still have an urge to see happiness on all different scales come out of her, whether it's like the greatest thing I've ever done for her or like little things. I, that, that is how I know, Hey, I'm still in it to win it. Cause I, I still want to see that as opposed to like, I don't care how they feel. Like once you,
Speaker: ah Go ahead. Yeah. I was to say, once you lose that, I feel like that's when, you know, i think you've lost the spark where it's like, I don't care if they're happy. The little things matter a lot. I mean, I think, I think more than people realize, like the little things as such as, like I said, doing the dishes or, um, just, you know, texting them somebody out of the day, like those little moments, like, yeah, those little moments create a bigger lifetime.
Speaker: Yeah, I think. Right. um So, yeah, that's the keep the spark changes. But, you know, there's ways to keep it going. yeah In fact, i'll text I text her right now. Just a lovey text.
Speaker: Yeah. While we're on the topic. There's a um lately, i like, you know, as I've mentioned a thousand times, I'm a flight attendant and I I go away for days at a time. And.
Speaker: Lately, with I say over the past year, i have been just missing the fuck out of my life. Like, I just don't want to leave. So, and I wasn't always like that. So, it changes. It really does. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. But, you know, if the communication is big, you got to keep communicating. And, you know, that that honeymoon phase, which is great. um You know, you want to keep it going as long as you can, but you have to accept the fact that it does change.
Speaker: Yeah, the honeymoon phase is going to go away at some point. But when I say that, I don't mean like it comes to a hard stop. Love doesn't go away. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah. And it's okay if you feel like if you have low points, but it's like, it's, I don't know. It's really just so complicated. I mean, sometimes couples get mad that they're just sitting there doing nothing together.
Speaker: Yeah. I think that's great when you could sit there and do nothing with somebody. Yeah. If I could sit, I could sit there with my wife and we could both be reading or both on our phones or, you know, whatever. And we're content as fuck.
Speaker: That's, that's a challenge. That's really good. i Yeah. Cause you know, some couples feel like they always have to be doing something. It's like sometimes nothing is something. And that's right. I think that's that there's a beauty in that.
Speaker: Yeah. And it's also like the hold on loosely. Don't let them go kind of thing where, uh, you know, you also have to understand you both have, you're both have lives with each other, but like if, if you are, so if, you if yeah, you are separate people. So if I want to hang out with some buddies or if she wants to hang out with some girlfriends or whoever, like I, yeah like you, you can't, you can't keep them on a leash like that. Oh gosh. be Because that will kill you, too. Because then it's like, oh, so I'm now it's like I'm stuck with you rather than I want to be with you. Yeah.
Speaker: Like, I mean, just jess doesn't care. But I'm doing a boy's trip in a couple of weeks. I'm going down to Florida. I'm seeing family and I'm you know seeing a bunch of friends. So there's a boy. Oh, cool. Yeah. I think I missed that email. You're not.
Speaker: Anyway, oh I'm not getting an email. If you want to come to Florida, you can. You're invited. Sure. Yeah. ah Yeah, i might i might have a I might be busy. But yeah, anyway. Yeah,
Speaker: yeah there's that. But um like she has like a girl's night every ah first Saturday of the month. She goes to a friend's place and they drink and talk and stuff like that. cool. The only time i I will say I kind of put my foot down and is and I hate to say it like that, but the ah is when like I don't want her to going home drunk by herself.
Speaker: That's the only time I'm like, just be careful. you are so arrogant, Ron. I am. How dare me? What is wrong with you? just you know Because like if you get blackout drunk and you're fire you' by yourself, of course yeah even even the cab ride, something could go wrong.
Speaker: Right. So that that's the only time I get concerned. That's why you need a Waymo. So, yeah, but those can also have can present their problems. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, just safety. That's all I a about.
Speaker: Yeah. But great question, though. Yeah. Really, really geeky. Appreciate that. chiquita butno bumpa bump bu bump bum um But a little racist.
Speaker: It might be nostalgic for you. that at thatadada I like that song. It's from Pee Wee. Pee Wee's Big Tequila. it annnala song Yeah. Yeah. Tequila. What did I say?
Speaker: and know it's just that you associated Chiquita with the ah I just had that song pop in my head. okay. I don't know what you're talking about. All right. that la la la laah My bag.
Speaker: um oh I see. I can't do that part of you. I could do like when he screams, but the like, ah like I can't do like that part. You don't understand that. You don't want me.
Speaker: I'm a loner, Dottie. pepper Maybe he's got like three of them then. Cause he is kind of like a, a, what you call it? The Martin short character ah where he kind of has a high and then a low. Oh, the Jiminy Glick. And then he comes down here. He didn't come. I loved you. Anyway, we can go on about Jim. Mr. Herman, Mr. Herman, you have phone call at the front desk.
Speaker: no Yeah, that's right. And it's like ad libbed. It's yeah. Um, you know, all this talking's got me thirsty. Oh, for what though? Hey, where we we are done. It's after work. Let's have a drink, Robert.
Speaker: Let's have Hey.

Cheers. so tis the season robert we are in it is almost fall we're gonna kick it off with the hudson north cider company toasted ummkin o pumpkin insideer time baby this is a five percent alcohol by volume from new york of course where else would it be from So what's it called again? Yay. ah Pumpkin, fall spices, I assume, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, malic acid sulfites. Yeah, it's 140 calories. I'll take five samples of that to see if I want it. Let's...

Hey, everybody, thanks for tuning in. Thanks for writing into penetrating questions, sending in your cold jokes as well. Down for that. I don't know if i ah maybe I should just keep it all together into one form and not make it complicated for people. So if you want to send the cold jokes, maybe you can send in into the penetrating questions. It's totally fine. I'm not going to get upset. I'm not going to get angry.
Speaker: Just send it in through there. Anything else you want to plug? Anything else coming on? ah By the time this airs, yes, I will have a show on the 23rd at QED in Astoria, 730.
