Transcript

Speaker: ah Hey, Heffa. Garbage day. It's a very dangerous day.

Speaker: Welcome to the...

Speaker: What's the deal? Let me try that again. It's the Down With DP podcast with Robert Dunn and Ron Prendamano in three...

Speaker: Yum, yum, yum. Yum, yum, tummy sticks. Yum, yum, tummy sticks. What is that from? ah that that's That's a, so B11, you know, a number I call it in bingo. And ah years ago, one of my friends named it the tummy sticks.

Speaker: And so one of my friends, every time tummy sticks, he says, yum, yum, tummy sticks. Okay. Tummy sticks. So, yeah, it's become a thing. But my name is Ron Brendamano and with me is the beautiful Robert Dunn. This is the Down with DP podcast. Sure is. um First, i want to give a shout out before we start to start this show. want to give a shout out to Lynn, Mario, and Connor. Those are the three people i And Zach. Those are the three four people I know who ran the marathon yesterday.

Speaker: so a new york city mar New York City Marathon? yes so wow and The them. Fuck yeah. um i've always wanted to do that low do not want to fucking do that i've made that very clear on this show that i have absolutely no desire to run a marathon no i will run maybe even a 10k but i will not run a fucking marathon they were exhausted as oh they were yeah they were tired oh i didn't see zach um but i know he ran it and uh i know um ah My friend Connor, who is a runner, he's run a few marathons. He was exhausted as well. So it's it's a lot of incline on the New York City Marathon.

Speaker: Oh, really? didn't know that. It's not one piece of flat land. It's like there's a bunch of, um the you know, the first thing you do is run on the Verrazano Bridge, and that's an incline. There's a lot of inclines on this fucking, um it's it's a tough course.

Speaker: Um, do you know their times or no, I don't, I think, ah I think, uh, Connor, Connor did his in, i think four 57. Wow. wow okay Which isn't bad at all. Um, no I think everyone else did. There's around six or seven.

Speaker: Okay. Okay. I think. I don't know. But I mean, they completed it, whether it took you two and a half hours. Oh, yeah. Or if it took you 14 hours, you fucking did it. So hell yeah. You know why I want to do it is because there was one trip to New York I took where it was during the marathon. And I don't know why. Something like hit me because, you know, they they run the course through tent Central Park. and Yes. um And I just see the runners going and I'm like, I kind of wish I was a part of it. So there's one.

Speaker: cool thing the New York City Marathon does that most marathons don't do is like every like we wait for they wait for everyone to finish. Oh, okay. So it's not like Boston where I think you actually have to qualify time, which I just learned yesterday. Like New York, if you're not fast enough, you don't get to do the marathon. ah New York City's like, you paid your money, you didn you did your qualifying shit, you you can run it.

Speaker: And yeah, they wait. Okay, they're not like some like narcissistic college boy who doesn't wait for you to finish. Yeah, no, they're not. Yeah, exactly. um However, however they it is a lot of money to run a fucking marathon, which is one reason why I wouldn't do it.

Speaker: Yeah, oh, the the fee to enter. You have to pay fees. You have to yeah qualifying races. You have to volunteer. um and though you do Yeah, it's a lot. Wait, so I wouldn't be able to join if I wanted to then, huh? i would take you like it would take You could start one year, and then it would take you to like the next year to do it. um Because like if I have to volunteer, do they count? i guess They count, yeah. you And it has to be a qualified New York Roadrunners event.

Speaker: Wow. Oh man, I just want to go for a jog. Yeah, so um I'm not going to go run 26.2 miles and spend 11 grand on doing that. did it We said we were going to do it if we got sponsored by Crumble. If Crumble sponsored us, I would do it, yeah, but they didn't fucking sponsor us. so They had every opportunity to. Every opportunity to do it, and they did not, Robert. They did not. So I'm not going eat your cookies, and you're not sponsoring me.

Speaker: so Wow. Tough shit. hey that's They lost out. They lost out. Yeah. um Well, Ron, ah I know you and I have both been, well, I know you you're kind of- I haven't been busy at all. You have been extremely busy. Yeah. did find- The recording schedule is completely off, but that's okay.

Speaker: But hey, I mean, today we're going be talking about a few, because a few things happened today. A really sad thing, Patrick Stewart. We're going to talking about a movie we both saw. Yeah. And um kind of some up and down stories, honestly, on this ah ah kind of a tragic event that happened in Palm Beach. And we got ah some cold jokes. happened yesterday, actually. It happened Oh, happened yesterday ah upon this recording.

Speaker: And then, of course, I got a Robert Rance. I got some sports. I do not have a fire robin beer today. Oh, you have some sports. I got some sports. I got some sports. If we could squeeze that in there. Very quick sports, but i have sports.

Speaker: Sports, sports, sports. All right. um that's yeah it All right. Well, um you saw. Well, I did. i did. I did see a movie and it was Clayface. I saw Clayface, too.

Speaker: Oh, and gosh, Ron. What did you think of it? I loved it. ah I loved it. I thought it was great telling of Clayface. Yeah. i And it was, it is so not a typical DC movie, no which I know. i know like sometimes people might say that if it's just like a violent movie, but it's more than that. Like, I mean, they were showing nudity. They were, it was gory as hell. Like it was not, it was, it was a little grotesque at times. It was, oh yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. um I thought of you at one part. Do you know what part I'm thinking of? no Oh, the part where they told him to sit down because the fasten your seatbelt button is on Oh, ha sit the fuck down.

Speaker: Yeah. I don't care if your eyeballs are warming. Excuse me, sir. You need to sit down. Yeah. That's how well that was funny. Yep. um But ah yeah, I loved it. It was ah pretty damn gory have to say. And ah which is, I think is appropriate for that character.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Very appropriate. The only thing the only thing I would want to say is that there is a scene. Not another thing. Nothing I'll say is a spoiler, but there's a scene in the movie where ah like this mob guy tries to break into a trailer, like a movie trailer like for an actor.

Speaker: And I know, I know working with those movie trailer, the the actor trailers, the the places that actors like when they say I'm going to my trailer, um their private space, the private space, those doors you open out to enter in. And this guy's trying to break in.

Speaker: And that threw me off, which I know probably won't throw off most people. But I was just like, dude, open the door to you. Don't break in. I mean, it properly. You dumb. Yeah, I've never done this before.

Speaker: Right. And you can't lock it from the inside. i don't think um without you. I think you would have to lock it from the outside with a key unless he like somehow formed his finger. and do not no Mr. Clooney, we need you to open the door, sir.

Speaker: Excuse me. Yeah. Mr. Clooney. But that's the only only thing I say. here right now I don't know either. i don't know either. he's He's living his life in Italy. But is that where he is? Yeah. Yeah. I think. Well, for the most part.

Speaker: But yeah, really good. um I think it's a pretty dark movie, especially if they are bringing it into the James Gunn cinematic universe. This whole cine James Gunn universe has been extremely dark, but in a different way than um Christopher Nolan or Tim Burton. like it's It's a different type of darkness. Yeah, or ah Snyder. snyder jar Yeah, Zack Snyder. um I like it, though.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. really do Because it's the most I think the most realistic version. ah Yeah. yeah Yeah. Yeah. And i'm I'm really curious to see because technically we don't know what James Gunn's Batman is going to be. But ah I'm really curious what that's going to be because his Superman is so bright and likable. And he's so like, I'm Mr. your Good Guy. And what I love about his Superman is that.

Speaker: He seems very vulnerable. Like he seems like a Superman that can get his ass kicked and he does. And in fact, the movie starts with him beaten to a pulp. So ah I'm curious how dark he's going to go for his actual Batman movie. So but which would be an interesting contrast, because if you have this bright and colorful, I'm Mr. Good Guy Superman mixed with like the world of like that we saw in Clayface, that would be a Yeah.

Speaker: That would interesting. Gotham's got its problems, man. Yeah. Yeah. it's got Problems. It's got, you know clay face and shit. What do you think it took place in? Cause I noticed like I did people people had cell phones. Yeah. Right. Yeah. They had cell phones.

Speaker: Yeah. I think they did. Yeah. I think yeah it was, it was a modern, it was more modern. It was, yeah, it was more modern. That technology is pretty fucking modern. Yeah. Yeah. If any of it even exists. But yeah. Clayface, go see it.

Speaker: Great. Yeah, definitely go see it, guys. Did I talk about Street Fighter last episode? Street Fighter. No, no. didn't see that. saw Street Fighter as well. Go see Street Fighter. Okay. Street Fighter is fun too. But speaking of um staying within the movie business, yeah, RIP to Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick Stewart. This 2026 has taken some good ones, man.

Speaker: I know. Everyone's like, why are they taking all the good ones and leaving the bad ones? That's the memes I'm seeing. That's, that's, that's, that's, and we all know who most of those memes are pointing to, but. Yeah. Billy Joel says only the good die young, so. Patrick Stewart was 86. He wasn't young. No, no. but ah do Dolly Parton was think? Dolly Parton was 80?

Speaker: Look, I just want to make a Billy Joel reference and just roll with it. You know what I mean? it I'm sorry. Anyway. Well, anyway, take two. You know Billy Joel says, only the good die young. Oh, man.

Speaker: Anyway, people can relate. Okay. I'll edit out the first one. All right. So, patrick no, Ron, I'm improvising. Go with it. Yes. yeah you're and Yeah. You're not doing a good job. I can't say no. Yes. And I'm not saying no. I can say no and continue this. Continue the scene.

Speaker: You can't say no to me, Ron. Sorry, sorry. Oh my goodness, that was terrible. ah But yeah, Patrick Stewart. I don't know what the fuck just happened. I don't know either. i talk about hair and You get so upset.

Speaker: And I feel attacked in OM gosh. but um Love is friendship with Ian McKellen.

Speaker: What is that? Patrick Stewart's friendship with Ian McKellen. Oh, oh, oh. I thought you were referring to like a documentary or something. Yes, of course. Ian McKellen was the first person I thought ah when he died. Yeah, I thought about, like, oh, poor Ian. Yeah. he lost his best friend.

Speaker: I did like his, ah you know, he wrote a nice something about him. Hugh Jackman wrote a nice something about him. William Shatner wrote a nice something about him. Um, yeah, it just seemed like, uh, all, it yeah, he just seemed like, uh, one of those, um, you know, celebrity faces that just didn't really have many, uh, enemies. The only person I can imagine that doesn't like him is, and I, i man, it's fucking name. Who's the late night show guy that, uh, everyone hated Johnny Carson.

Speaker: No, everyone loved Johnny Carson. That's not true, but okay. um Well, I guess so, yeah. Oh, James Corden. James Corden. James Corbin. James, yeah. he Everyone hates him to the point where he's like... He he he didn't get cancelled for anything, but I think he got cancelled for he's just such an asshole, no one wants to be around him. Very much like Ellen. He's like the male version of Ellen. And ah yeah, there was ah there was some award ceremony where he was roasting... and i don't want to say roasting. He was like...

Speaker: I don't know who who took a jab at who first, but James Corden just kind of started like laying into Patrick Stewart. And it's it's like, dude, no one's on your side. Like, we're going to be rooting for. How do make fun of Patrick Stewart?

Speaker: I know, dude. He's just such an angel. Yeah. But I mean, if you're a a big enough asshole, youll you'll definitely find nice people to be the enemy. So yeah, fuck that guy. But Patrick Stewart was great. Patrick Stewart was great. I am very sad. i you know, I...

Speaker: Uh, I, I feel like I got close to working with Patrick Stewart. This is the only. Yeah. I was, when he was doing the show, Picard, I was, uh, I was brought in five times for that show. I read it. I read five different times for five different characters and it just never was in the car. never worked out. And, um, I think I want to say almost all of them would have been a, at least a couple lines with Patrick Stewart. So I'm like, fuck dude. So close, so close to the legend. would have awesome. It did work out.

Speaker: Yeah, it didn't work out. But hey, you know... um Hey, now you get to do a podcast. Right. Now I get to do a podcast with Sir Ron Prendamano. I would never be knighted in England.

Speaker: No. I would never be knighted. Here's a question, because I assume you have to be British, right? But here's a question. Yeah, it's our British citizenship. Yeah, something like that. Do you... ah Is there is there a any kind of honor that the that the royal family can give someone who isn't? ah There is. I forget what it's called. They do... um Let me see.

Speaker: Yeah, because I'm like, what's the American knighted? I don't mean from America, because that's going to be the... Medal of Freedom, I think it's called. Medal of Freedom, Medal of Honor. Medal of Honor is the highest, right? Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. ah they They do have some things. that They got a few things. Yeah. Does not always mean receiving a knighthood. They have a few things, yes.

Speaker: I think you joined the corn dog Calvary. That's what the American honor is. ah Let's see. There's Irish orders, Scottish orders. That's knighthood versus Oliver Wards.

Speaker: That'd be cool to be honored by Ireland. I would love that. Yeah, i personally. Yeah, I personally would like that run. Personally. I'm not Irish. Oh, I know.

Speaker: oh my. i am not Irish. What are you? I'm mostly Italian. Okay. And German is my next. Oh, that's what I was going to guess. Which we do the fire abend beer at the end of the show usually.

Speaker: And then there's bunch of other shit, but that that's that's mostly those two. Okay. Well, um that's cool. I am Irish and Italian. So, and I think. That's why you have nice character.

Speaker: Thank you. Yeah. But also why I like to rant a lot. So I got a little something I could talk about. All right, buddy. ahead. Let's get into it. Here we go.

Speaker: So I actually have two different things to rant about. I'm going to pick one. Okay. But I just don't know which one I want to pick. I'm going to maybe pick the one that's more seasonal.

Speaker: That's more seasonal. And that is, and I know I'll be in the minority here, but I actually am ranting about people that complain Christmas starts too early. Wow. Okay. Go right the fuck ahead. Go. come on yeah Go. Go. So I love Christmas. I'm wearing boli' wearing polar bear pants right now.

Speaker: Oh, sweet. See, I Christmas. Unrelated, though. Unrelated to the holiday, but go on ramp. Right. Now, ah basically, um I went out and got some Little Debbie's Christmas trees last night and Little Debbie's Coffee Creamer at the Wally World, and they immediately had all their Christmas stuff out. Day one, November 1st. And you know what? I'm not upset about it.

Speaker: Because Christmas is a big fucking thing. And ah i i think i that's what I think that's what makes Christmas special. I don't think it's even about the day of Christmas. I think it's the build up to Christmas. I understand Thanksgiving. Yeah, it's fine. you'll The mashed potatoes are going to be there. They're not going away. Okay, they're there all year round. Christmas decorations are not.

Speaker: So I actually am in favor of it. And you know what? Sorry, was holding back a burp. Okay, old back of the other boardy. um You know, there are people that celebrate Halloween really early too. So, and I don't complain about it.

Speaker: I think that's great ah because, you know, it's giving them happiness. And so I like it. I like that Christmas starts early. The end of rant. Okay.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: I have to disagree with you, Robert. All right, guys, that's our episode. i love how your screen froze the second you said that. That was great. I have to disagree with you. okay I have to. okay Because know Halloween people usually start celebrating in October.

Speaker: um You wanted to start earlier? that what you're saying? No, no I don't. It's all is Halloween in my mind. Christmas Bah Humbug. Wow. Bah Humbug. Starring Johnny Depp.

Speaker: hey Yeah, Ebenezer. yeah it's go to be awesome yeah I fucking hate I hate how we so we start. I hate Peter Pan. I do. I do. I hate Peter Pan too. fuck himself.

Speaker: Kidnapping all those fucking kids. We literally had a lost boy on our show, Ron. I know that. It starts too early and it doesn't start November 1st. Shit's out in September. Eh, well. and That's okay. No, I'm sorry. No, no, no, no, no. no no no no Well, I'm giving some love.

Speaker: yeah Well, here's the thing. I will say- Our controversial American holiday. I do understand that they trickle in the Christmas gifts, but I do feel like November 1st, that's when everything just is like, press the button, press the red button, release it all.

Speaker: And ah I don't know, it just brought me joy seeing it all. i'm had You know what? When Mariah Carey's done thawing out, you won't be thinking that anymore, will you? I don't know. I like it because then I i like watch my Christmas movies and yeah movies you like the Hallmark movies, don't you?

Speaker: No. You like those Hallmark movies. No, no. I'm surprised you're not in one. I am surprised too. I don't know. I don't, I have, I have all the characteristics. Why are you leaving? Because you're just, I can't do it anymore. i just can't.

Speaker: I'm just a city girl. You know, I came here for a job in this farm town and you know, my fiance, he's such an asshole and I'm just trying to save this coffee shop. mine from Nice. And you know, you can make me orgasm and I just I can't do it anymore. I can't do it.

Speaker: Hey, I'm just a normal guy with a normal coffee shop that's going out of business because they want to build condos. You see? Nope. It's like, oh, and then you find out she works for the condo company. oh What does she do? Does she pick the man or pick her job with the asshole fiance? i don't know. What do She's going to rid of the fiance. She's going to say, screw her job, and she's going to choose love. And what's going to happen? On the next movie, he's going to leave her.

Speaker: Wow. That would be. And then she's going to move back in with her parents. Okay. and And this, and the movie is going to be called like once upon a Christmas, November or something stupid like that.

Speaker: Right. some reason didn't take but take Didn't take place in December. It took place in November. Maybe it'll be called Christmas comes early. ah That might already be a movie with that title. I'll look it up.

Speaker: I'll look it up. i Do it when you're alone. Yeah, exactly. ah ah ha ah ah hey Garbage day. It's a very dangerous day. Garbage day is a very dangerous day. That's my favorite cartoon.

Speaker: ah But... Yeah, the Hallmark movies are cray cray. But yeah, that's my rant. I'm happy you love the holidays. Very happy for you. Thank you. it sounds like you are. I'm so fucking thrilled for you.

Speaker: Yeah. Well, oh, I wrote it somewhere. up but but But you know also what I did while while I was really busy? I voted. didn't vote yet. vote tomorrow. Oh, I voted. I got my sticker. I just said just a sticker, please. Yeah, no nothing else. did not vote yet, and I am tired of these fucking ads.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. Tired. I hate the text messages, the constant text messages. I mean, I've seen the elections, like, because my layovers and stuff like that, I've seen them kind of all over the country, and they are ruthless.

Speaker: Uh-huh. They are awful. The ones in Florida? Oh, my God. Oh, what are the ones in Florida? They're just mean. They're just kind like, this person sucks ass. oh he's Don't vote for him because he's got a weird hairdo. like it' yeah and that I'm exaggerating, but yeah, that's just they're not good. Here dude in New York, they're just nonstop. And if you watch ABC7 or something like that here in New York, like you because it you know the New York metro region is large, you're getting New Jersey elections. You're getting Connecticut elections. You're getting New York elections. It's non-stop.

Speaker: ah Are you part of any Hernando County Facebook pages? ah Maybe. I don't know. know i might Because, man, the shit that they post, it's fucking. Florida's a battleground state. It's toxic wasteland. it's It's insane, man. It's it's awful. And i one thing that pisses me off here in New York is that there's no third party candidate for governor.

Speaker: They have done such a good job, and I don't mean that it's a good thing. They've done such a good job of making sure it is a two-party system here in New York. yeah So there's not even third-party candidate to run. I'm like, well, they both kind of suck. I know who I'm voting for, but they both suck.

Speaker: they ah There was one someone posted like ah like a negative campaign against some kind of school board member who's running. And it was something like, I swear to God, it was something like she was in debt with her credit cards. And I'm like, oh, so gee she just owned a credit card at one time in her life? Oh, so she was an American. Oh, so...

Speaker: ah You know and That's appealing that she had credit card debt. cause Oh my, wait, are you telling me she had a MasterCard? Absolutely not. Absolutely. She's not getting li it was worse. It was a Discover card. Hey, I have a Discover card. they're good And we just got bought out by Capital One. Really? I did not know that. Yeah, yeah, I learned. um But yeah, I was just like, this is so dumb. Like, okay, so she, I don't know. It's just people, people who look for anything. Election time is always ugly.

Speaker: Especially here in the States. Like, i mean I mean, like when I'm in Canada, the election, the elections are a little brutal, but they're not like here. Right. Right. it's it Yeah. But, um, yeah, that's that's, that's, I don't know what to say anymore, Robert. I really don't oh know, but there's some cool stuff happening with, uh, Tampa Bay. Right.

Speaker: Where, before we're talking about, you mean like for sports? Yeah. Oh, I don't have an introduction music for you. I should, I should make what happened to my what happened if i run with sports thing. No, no, I have one, but it starts this, you know. No, i mean we don't need, no, that's fine the way it is. We don't need anything else.

Speaker: we We don't need like a introduction. I don't need a fanfare that this is wrong. That's all we need. Okay, let's do it. Play it. This is Ron with Sports.

Speaker: Well, Robert, we have some interesting things here right now. First off, the Milwaukee Brewers. We're still doing the voice, Robert. First off, the Milwaukee Brewers are the World Series champions, beating the Rays in five games. Congrats the Milwaukee Brewers. Tampa Bay, great season, but once again, you fell short, you sons of bitches. And also a really kind of cool thing that happened yesterday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Robert.

Speaker: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Robert, are the first team since 1974 to win a game without completing a pass. oh Three field goals and a running play. Baker Mayfield was 0 for 3. I think he had a passer rating of 35.9.

Speaker: However, they did shut out a division rival, the Atlanta Falcons, which helped us. So we still have a shot of taking the division. Let's go, Bucs. Oh, right. I love how you're using the voice, but like with modern day language, like this is the really cool thing that happened, everybody. It's like, this this is really awesome. They were really swanky out there in the field, Robert. And boy, how did they play like shit? okay Oh my God. Sorry. Well, uh, cause I was going to ask when does the world series start?

Speaker: It's over. No, it's not really. Yeah. Oh, the 31st would have been game seven if they made it that far, but no, uh, Milwaukee won. Milwaukee played some great baseball. Tampa Bay did not show up.

Speaker: They did not get swept, was which was great, but they did not show up. um Their bats didn't get swinging. Their pitching wasn't as good as what they were in previous playoff series this year. or So they lost steam when they were not supposed to lose steam. Milwaukee got hot when they were supposed to get hot and Kept going. So, yeah, it's the first title. So congrats, Milwaukee. Well, at least it's a city I like. I do love Milwaukee. i I'm not upset. It's their first title. They have a great fan base. um Brew crew. ah Yeah. Very happy for them. I can't be mad.

Speaker: um I know this is football, but I still to this day, I really, really want to go to a Packers game. I really want to go to a Packer. Yeah, I mean, that whole that's a religion out there. and Yeah, that's why I want to go They're so passionate. I think it's also cool that they're like one of the only small market teams left. They are the only small market team left in America. like They don't have an owner. They have you know a board of people, which is cool. it's the Packers shareholders. that They're the ones who own it.

Speaker: Oh, wow. They're the only team in America that does that anymore. that Everyone else is owned by a person or persons. But yeah this is owned by the actual fan. So it's kind of cool. Okay. I mean, like... and the population of Green Bay is like the population of Spring Hill, Florida. It's like 100,000 people.

Speaker: Wow. yeah Am I a Packers fan and I don't realize it? I don't know. I don't know. I think i think if I went to a Packers game, that would seal the deal and I would be i would be go Packers. Okay. You're not a Bucs fan?

Speaker: Um, yeah, I like the Bucs. You're not a Chargers fan. No, I don't even know where they are. You're definitely not a Rams fan. Oh, no, I've gone to a Rams game, though. Those are both Los Angeles teams, Robert.

Speaker: Oh, I know Rams are because I went to a game. Fuck the Rams. Whose house? Rams house. That's what they play over and over again. I've been to our been a Rams game before, yeah. It sucks. Wait, have you gone ah to the SoFi Stadium yet? No, this was at the Olympic Flame.

Speaker: This is where they were still playing there. They actually played the Bucs, and they the Bucs beat them like 56 to 37 or Wow. It was game, but It was fun.

Speaker: Yeah, it's weird. A game a team discussed that just it just has to hit you, and the Rams didn't hit me, ah despite being called Rams. um There were a lot of Bucs fans, though. Apparently, Los Angeles has a huge Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan base, which I did not know.

Speaker: Oh, who knew? Exactly, because they're therere on the other side of the fucking country. But um yeah, there's a lot of Bucs fans out there. Oh, and wait, in where? In California? Los Angeles.

Speaker: Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. Wow. All right. Well, cool. I also don't know why it takes, like, the stadium wasn't far from my hotel and it took me, like, forever to get there. And why is this taking so fucking long? This is why I hate California.

Speaker: you're about LAX? Yeah. and No, LA in general. I think we're, it it takes, like, forever to drive anywhere in that city. Oh, yeah, for sure. I fucking hate it. For Yeah. Um,

Speaker: But hey, you know, it's this they they call it Los Angeles, the city that never sleeps. All right, guys. So moving on. um no the city that doesn't sleep.

Speaker: that's That's where I live. Los Angeles. That's where I live. i think Yeah. All right. So, um but anyway, ah I don't know. I feel weird laughing and then transitioning into this. We do have some sad news um in the aviation world. Yeah.

Speaker: A private charter going from Austin to, I believe it was the Bahamas, carrying nine people, um dropped out of the sky yesterday.

Speaker: Wow. So apparently what happened, and I did listen to the trend the the communication between the pilot and ATC, um not very sad. I mean, you could hear her fear. You could hear her fear. 20-year-old pilot. Yeah.

Speaker: So apparently they hit some turbulence, which happens. Then they hit some precipitation, which happens. And then they got ice on the wings. And if you get ice on the wings, that's not good because the weight could bring it down. And that's exactly what happened. ah What was the side size of this plane?

Speaker: It was a small plane. It was a small private charter. wasn't anything big. Like how many people? like which im out not There were nine people on the plane. I don't and probably couldn't hold many. um Okay. Okay.

Speaker: It happened in Palm Beach, Florida. It's sad. It's crazy. There's a Learjet. A lot of people think that it might be a... um People don't think it's ah a planet. it They think it's a missile.

Speaker: Okay. Which is... Which obviously is i don't think is true because we have all this you know communication and stuff like that with the air traffic control. But it's still terrifying nonetheless. I mean, that's – and you know nine people and the pilot was 20 years old.

Speaker: Extremely sad. I didn't really – I mean, I know you're over 18. It just sounds so young to be 20 years old. So for a private charter, yeah, that's – you could do that. Sure. As long as she's got her hours, yeah.

Speaker: Um, what is the, what are, what's the, uh, likelihood of like a commercial jet dealing with ice? Like, I feel like they could take on more ice. um Um, it can can it can happen. Um, it can happen, but i for her anytime you have a smaller plane, yeah. Things like that are,

Speaker: you know, yeah worse. That's why like when people talk about driving, ah driving ah flying private, I'm never turned on by that. I'm scared to death. I'm like, I don't care about the luxury of it.

Speaker: Honestly, the bigger the plane, the better for me. In some cases, yeah. Like i I feel safer on those international flights i because I just feel like it that would be a harder plane to take down is the bigger ones. Yeah, I mean, it's amazing how when you see such a big aircraft, like a jumbo jet, like ah like a 777 or an Airbus 330, like it's amazing when you see how big these planes are and they actually fly. or It's amazing.

Speaker: Yeah, it it really is. um So, yeah, I don't know. That's really sad. It's horrible. It would have to be like a clear day, like from Burbank to Vegas, kind of private jet. Like there's an airline called JSX. Have you heard of them? Yes.

Speaker: Yeah. Is that just, is that like ah the middle ground of commercial and private? I feel like it's like. um It's a charter, I guess. So I guess it is private, but it's not at the same time. So I guess yeah technically it's commercial.

Speaker: I think it's like what you probably call it like a premium like airline. Yeah, I guess. But it's a smaller plane. Technically, it's commercial. Yeah. um That's not the same size as the plane that crashed. I don't think so. No. OK.

Speaker: Yeah. All right. Don't think so. All right. Well, yeah, really terrifying. hard goes out of ah And usually when these investigations take anywhere from a year to two years to fully complete. So we'll find out in the days to come. More about.

Speaker: Yeah. All right. Well, ah that is always scary. um Well, maybe maybe we can lighten it a little bit. Oh, you want to be funny now?

Speaker: You want to joke? Oh, I have no promises that will be funny. Oh, I don't have any... right, well, here, I'll give you some time while the intro goes. Here we go. Okay. Cold jokes.

Speaker: Dying from your cold jokes. All right, did you finish? Okay. Yeah, I get it. um, uh, you know what? i I think I went first last time, so I'll let you go first. Okay, hold on. I'm just making some corrections. I mean, unless you need more time, but... No, it's it's just not good. We write these last minute, guys. write these last minute. I mean, this is so... It's bad. It's... Like, it... I...

Speaker: and yeah i'm very i If people actually like this segment, segment I do apologize because it's that fucking bad. Yeah, for real. Sorry if you hear a leaf blower outside of my mansion.

Speaker: but um Can you hear a leaf blower? Yes, but it's okay. ah Hold on, I'm going to shut the window.

Speaker: Robert gonna shut the window. Robert gonna shut the window. Alright, that's better, but not the best.

Speaker: Oh boy, he's just gonna come around the other side. Oh no. Leaf blowers from all corners, guys. I don't know what to do. Hold, please.

Speaker: Hey! Try to record a podcast in here! Pet your dog!

Speaker: Okay. All right, here we go. yeah Here we go. Ron's cold joke. it's Sorry about the wait, guys. So cold. ah I'm going to start it again. Here we go.

Speaker: Sorry, there will be no fire up in beer today, but there will be a fire up in shitty cold joke. And that's all I have. That's it. That's all you're getting. That was good. that Hey, you know, that's improvised. You said yes. And didn't say no. i did.

Speaker: Like the shitty improv you did earlier. All right. Wow. Wow. right. Here it goes. My, I think mine's going to be another, and you know, would clap your hands.

Speaker: Yeah. All right. love it. I think this is going to be a bit of a novel. So here we go. ah Here we go. Once upon a time.

Speaker: Oh, Jesus. The movie Clayface is still in the middle of dealing with a likeness rights lawsuit. For those who don't know, it's about a man so desperate to preserve his looks that he undergoes a medical procedure that goes horribly wrong, leaving him disfigured, rage-filled, monster nobody wants to be around. Well, as soon as the movie was released, it was reported that Mickey Rourke called his lawyer and said, hey, if they're going to use my likeness, they better pay for it.

Speaker: Poor Mickey Rourke. Funny, though. Thank you. All right. All right. All right. All right. Well, you know, today. Today's a short episode. Today is a short episode.

Speaker: I can't tell. and I don't have a fire robin beer. Because, you know, sometimes it's okay not to have one. That's true. And it's like, ah do we not have enough material today or are we just getting better at our job?

Speaker: I think we're just getting better at our You're also on a bit of a time crunch right now. I am, so it's working out. I'm not rushing, though. i'm not No, I wasn't either.
