They were trying to sell me the white borders and everything. It's so funny when you're on like when you're on the cusp and you go like back and forth and they just like keep throwing the pop-up at you as you get into and out of the top 5,000 all the time.

Oh, my goodness. um But anywho, I realized I put that in the show notes. I don't even need to look at my phone. It was a discard deck. It's called Vamps vs. Zombies. This was before the zombies got involved, but I was like, I'll probably keep playing it after the zombie season starts. And sure enough, I have. ah And the the cards, they are Meek, Scorn, Blade, Morbius, Redshift, Gambit, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Modok, Khonshu, and Apocalypse.

I started out with Colleen Wing instead of Redshift, but then I was like, I don't know, Colleen, you are... I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth. And, uh, red shift is pretty cool cause it's good to get more cards in your hand so that you can discard more cards and stuff.

holding the holding the whole thing together Merlin so often is then we got Hope, Summers, Lunasnow, Wiccan, Cosmic Ghost Rider, Blink, Enchantress Galactus First Steps, and Giganto gosh, I know I've said this before but I really hope that when the time comes to nerf Merlin and the time will come to nerf Merlin hope they just take him down to two two and they keep all the spells the same i really I really would like that ah that would just a I'd be happy about it I could see Omniversal going to plus one instead of plus two.

man and uh things did not get better so that's that's all frustrating i'm not really feeling like fixing it right now so if you have some cool tips don't give them to me i'm i'm not ready for that uh if i am ready for tips later i will solicit them at that time um But right now i think I'm going to throw up my hands and pick some other game that has a fun portmanteau ah with the day of the week. I'm really i'm really contemplating Marvel's Midnight Suns Day or ah perhaps if I like that enough and I want to do it two days in a row.

So like, ah you know, lot of us have and ah been struggling with our conquest goals for months because there's just so many other modes and we don't have all the time and there's like tournaments. There's all kinds of stuff happening, right?

Because I remember there was a time earlier on in conquest where i would get one at least one like every month you know maybe multiple it was like the thing and now and now it's like you know now we're all like looking at a you know, stack of tits like raffle tickets and just like watch them go up in f flames every month. But something that I do this month differently than I've kind of also been doing that maybe made take Infinite slightly more seriously is that I've been sticking with one deck more than usual.

There's one I usually, like, in a season, like, I usually, there's just random decks. There's decks I build and then play once. I'm like, what was I thinking? and And then there's, like, maybe five decks that'll bounce around. you Usually it's a lot of stuff, and I don't even mention half of it.

um You know, like this week I played around with X. I still can just not if I can say her name. But um I'm not even going to talk about. But this one I played lot more than usual. I still played a lot of decks.

But I did stick with my Existential Dread deck. far more than I usually ah play deck. And I knew that then I kind of wanted, it felt like the right time when you've been playing a deck a lot.

Because, I mean, like Ladder, it's the same thing with Conquest. I mean, obviously, if something is really not working for you, you don't, you know, don't throw in on a losing hand. But, you know, if you stick with one deck,

And you can learn the ins and outs of that deck. That's your best chance to make serious goes. And ah when I was sitting in a hotel room, i wasn't sitting, I was laying in bed.

I'm playing, you know, like being like, it was Monday. It was Monday night. So I'm like, I have to get through every, all of my tickets. I'm on the road all day tomorrow. Like this is my last chance to burn through everything. And I was on my very last infinite ticket because I was just, you know, it's just a little out of it. I wasn't playing super soon.

It's my, one of the rare bundle paid cash money bundle variants that I own because it was, it was like a $15 bundle variant and it was around my birthday when I'm a very giving, self-giving mood.

So I'm going did it with my bullshit like because that's my favorite thing to do and um But this time, yes, it's a couple... Okay, it's not because Hulkling is there.

it's such a wild card. The thing with Hulkling is it's like Hulkling now. You can grow up to be anything you want to be because you're an emperor. But like, it's not an infinite.

I can't get it with Cosmic Ghost Riders. And I'm like, oh, Hulkling better come through big. The Emperor got to pull us out of this one. Yeah. But what's interesting, I just wanted to point some notes.

And funnily enough, the spot I had first thought to replace Negasonic with a three cost was Rocket and Groot. And that's what I've been putting back in. And particularly, like, yesterday. Because, like, the hot location. and mix of ah hot location where I knew that made it more likely they're going to play somewhere. And people playing Scarlet Witch more.

So I feel like this spot in the deck, you know, you got to look at what spot in your deck is the flex tech card when you're deck building. And then you can kind of keep maneuvering your deck into new eras.

um and got to the credits. you know and There's stuff to do after the credits, too. Yeah, there is. work Working on that. um You know, build maximizing my relationships with all the characters, like running over a dozen nectars in my inventory at all times because we're just giving it out like candy at this point.

And the Switch just let us like do virtual game card. It was the first time I've done it because it's pretty recent. it's it's ah Since the Switch 2 came out, they added this feature. But as far as I know.

But I have a virtual game card for every game and I can just put our switches next to each other and be like, here, you borrow this for 14 days. I've heard some people say negative things about it, honestly, it worked flawlessly for us. and And I thought that was great. Like, I thought I was going to have to do some finagling, like, because I can use the offline version on my Switch, but on her Switch, we have I have to be online. So she'll have to play it on my account. Like, I thought we were going have to do something like that.

Although I feel like if Patriot's up, they should be thinking about Ultron. Yeah, there should be no element of surprise then. Yeah. yeah Anyway, ah it went hot location. won because Hulkling was in Ultron numerous times. Yeah, 612 Ultron's even better than us. a generated Ultron. I'm never never running him in the deck, but yeah. Okay.

And I'm like, well, I definitely i just automatically originally in my head thought, well, we have to play that last turn. I don't want to, you know, you never, you try not to fill up locations unless you're tricking your opponent because they're banking on you not filling your location. you know, you know, you know, Vizzini style.

Anyway, so. um ah But then I realized I was like, oh, wait, I can play it early because I have that Wiccan energy. And if I play Hulkling this turn, that will fill up the right location, which will give me back my discarded...

Uh, like, I think it was Cosmic Ghost Rider, the thing that was going to win me the game, you know, and, uh, that I needed to to shut them down. I'm like, oh, I can get it back, you know?

And it's like, that's because of locations, right? They found the Hulkling, which gets to be a random card, which once again is a digital thing we can't have in print. Like, Magic, Magic, yeah, they're textbooks.

That's why you eventually have to just make a new card game or get digital or something. But like, yeah, and then I could use that to to find an interesting way to interact with the location that allowed me to win. And I get to have so many more of those realizations that in this card game.

Anyway, too much derailment, so... No, you're fine. That's what talking about. My quote in said article, i list probably like eight things that the game does right. And Scott asked, like, what's your favorite thing about Snap? Or something like that. Like, what does Snap do right?

What makes Snap unique? That sort of thing. And I just, like, I couldn't. Like, I tried thinking about it. You know, is it the Snap and Retreat mechanics? Is it the three-minute gameplay? Is it 12-card decks? Is it that 95% of the cards in the game are can be used in the meta?

like they it's all those things i feel like that's kind of a high a high percentage okay nine whatever it is it's a lot like when there's golden gauntlet tournaments like the number of cards that are represented in zero decks it's like it's really impressive how low that number is um you know is it the live balance is it the cool things they do with digital cards like there's so many things that make it special but i totally agree locations are critical I've seen people wish that there was a mode where there was three ruins locations. And I think that if people had that, they would be surprised by how boring the game gets so fast.

Like, yes, it does suck getting screwed over by locations, but they add so much variety from one game to the next. The way they interact with each other, the way they interact with your deck, the way that you're doing mind games over them. Like there's so much, even the simple locations.

Also, that's how helps with them. Sorry, go ahead. Okay, there's there's one location that I think is not doing enough, and every time it rolls, I'm like, this should have been a more interesting location. It's Rocket Pad from the first Step season. it is such a non-location.

It is nothing. Don't even try to win Rocket Pad. It's not worth thinking about. It's nothing. It is ruins. I like Rocket Peg because I can usually with my with my deck, I can usually win it because I get the priority.

To be collection complete, you don't have to spend all of the money to win games. And part of that is because of the the locations giving you the randomness so that it's not just a chessboard, you know, with more pieces.

um giving you that chance, but also your ability to use your brain better than your opponent, know their cards, to know the locations, to think of clever ways you know to trap them with those. And it's like, we always talk about locations, but it's just like, I don't know, lately I've thought about more ways that they're actually giving to the game than just you know keeping it mixed up.
