Taylor's Journey to Success in Solar

00:00:03
Speaker
Welcome to the Solarpreneur Podcast, where we teach you to take your solar business to the next level.
00:00:08
Speaker
My name is Taylor Armstrong.
00:00:10
Speaker
I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in a year and cracking the code on why sales reps fell.
00:00:19
Speaker
I teach you how to avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads, falling up like a pro, and closing more deals.
00:00:31
Speaker
What is a solarpreneur, you might ask?
00:00:33
Speaker
A solarpreneur is a new breed of solar pro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery, and you are about to become one.

Introducing Brandon Forrester

00:00:42
Speaker
What's going on, solarpreneurs?
00:00:44
Speaker
We are here live, actually, at SolarCon, cranking out some podcasts.
00:00:50
Speaker
And we've got someone that I'd say is probably top three hardest working people I know in solar here.
00:00:58
Speaker
So we've got Brandon Forrester.
00:00:59
Speaker
Thanks for coming on the show with us today, Brandon.
00:01:02
Speaker
Yeah, thanks for having me.
00:01:03
Speaker
SolarCon's been awesome.
00:01:05
Speaker
It's been a journey.
00:01:06
Speaker
So excited to be here.
00:01:07
Speaker
Excited to be on the podcast today.
00:01:09
Speaker
Yeah, it's going to be fun.
00:01:11
Speaker
And we did this kind of spur of the moment, but I was just talking, hearing about Brandon's journey.
00:01:16
Speaker
And I'm just like, dude, we got to get you on a podcast.
00:01:19
Speaker
Some of the crazy stuff this guy's done.
00:01:22
Speaker
So we're in for a treat hearing about

Brandon's Transition from Setter to Closer

00:01:24
Speaker
it.
00:01:24
Speaker
so brandon you've been uh... scania juicy i guess a little bit you've been in store how long
00:01:30
Speaker
So I started about 11 months ago.
00:01:32
Speaker
I've been setting this whole time, and I just now am transitioning to closing.
00:01:36
Speaker
So I started out in like Corpus Christi during that crazy freeze, knocking in insane weather, like black ice on the roads.
00:01:45
Speaker
That was a really fun time.
00:01:47
Speaker
And then moved up to Dallas, sold in Dallas for a few months, did a summer there, and then moved to St.
00:01:53
Speaker
George around September.
00:01:55
Speaker
Okay.
00:01:56
Speaker
Right on.
00:01:57
Speaker
Yep.
00:01:57
Speaker
So he's knocking in Utah right now, and we're actually in the Knox Star United program together.
00:02:03
Speaker
So I've been learning a lot from Brandon and a lot of the other guys in there.
00:02:07
Speaker
And what's crazy is he took second place in the entire country, nationwide, guys that have years and years of experience.
00:02:15
Speaker
He kicked my butt.
00:02:16
Speaker
So I didn't even get to the round against him.
00:02:19
Speaker
So you crushed it in it.
00:02:21
Speaker
And then, I mean, the last week, what was it you had?
00:02:25
Speaker
How many deals was it?
00:02:26
Speaker
I had 10 deals in the last week.
00:02:28
Speaker
Four of them were self-gen, and I just started self-genning.
00:02:31
Speaker
But yeah, four of them self-gen, six of them were set that closed last week.
00:02:36
Speaker
Incredible.
00:02:37
Speaker
And so we're going to hear how he did it.
00:02:39
Speaker
But what's even crazier is this guy was out in Utah Easter Sunday knocking doors, trying to crush this competition.
00:02:47
Speaker
And I'm like, man, if you have the balls to be out there knocking on a Sunday in Utah.
00:02:53
Speaker
In Utah, all places.
00:02:55
Speaker
Yeah, this guy can do anything.
00:02:57
Speaker
So as you probably know, Utah is a religious state.
00:03:00
Speaker
People typically don't like to be bothered on Sunday.
00:03:03
Speaker
So we're going to hear how that went for him.
00:03:06
Speaker
But yeah, do you want to hear us, do you want to tell us kind of how you like transit?

From Pest Control to Solar Passion

00:03:10
Speaker
So you were in pest control before you got into solar, right Brandon?
00:03:12
Speaker
Yep, I did pest control.
00:03:14
Speaker
I did an extended summer about seven, roughly seven to eight months or so.
00:03:17
Speaker
I started in Salt Lake.
00:03:19
Speaker
Had a lot of insane life events take place where it just ended up dragging out my summer a little bit longer.
00:03:26
Speaker
and finished up that summer in North Carolina actually.
00:03:30
Speaker
So I had a bit of a transition there, but I did not like pest control.
00:03:34
Speaker
I mean, I was pretty good.
00:03:35
Speaker
I did about 300 accounts during the course of that time.
00:03:38
Speaker
I did most of it in Salt Lake areas where I did the majority of it.
00:03:42
Speaker
And then I finished up in North Carolina in Raleigh area.
00:03:45
Speaker
So pest control wasn't my favorite.
00:03:47
Speaker
Respect to all the guys who are doing pest control.
00:03:49
Speaker
Like it can be a grind.
00:03:51
Speaker
I know you guys do a lot of hard hours.
00:03:54
Speaker
For me though, ever since I made the transition to solar, it's just something I can get behind.
00:03:58
Speaker
I've been a lot more passionate about it, and I feel like that's contributed to a lot of the success I've had.
00:04:02
Speaker
Because if you're passionate about something, if you can really get behind it, then it's easy to go out and to perform and to get excited about it.
00:04:10
Speaker
Yeah, no question.
00:04:12
Speaker
And yeah, it's cool to see, like we were talking off the camera, a lot of guys are switching from pest control into solar now and just absolutely crushing it.
00:04:20
Speaker
And what I see more than anything is these guys, you know, pest control guys, I don't know if you'd agree, but they come in, they can just set appointments up the wazoo because it seems like it's kind of similar, you know, a pest cell to set appointments.
00:04:33
Speaker
And obviously pest control, you guys are used to knocking long hours.
00:04:37
Speaker
You know, I did pest control for two summers.
00:04:39
Speaker
We were out there eight to 10 hours a day typically.
00:04:41
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:42
Speaker
And solar, you know, a lot of, you can have success without knocking crazy hours.
00:04:48
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:48
Speaker
And the commissions are insanely high.
00:04:51
Speaker
So we like to say that's the curse of solar, right, is commissions are high.
00:04:54
Speaker
So you can go out and get away with only knocking, you know, half as much in pest control.
00:04:59
Speaker
But, yeah, do you think, I don't know, that kind of mindset, would you say that pest control helped you a lot transitioning into solar and with, like, setting appointments?
00:05:06
Speaker
Do you think that's...
00:05:07
Speaker
Yeah, it's very similar.
00:05:08
Speaker
Like my trucks are going to be out here, like we're going to be in the neighborhood anyway, like would this time or this time be better?
00:05:13
Speaker
It's a very similar way that you're presenting it and it's just a slight tweak in how, like what exactly the information that you're sharing with them.
00:05:22
Speaker
But yeah, I'd say like a set is very similar to like a close with a pest control, very similar.
00:05:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:05:29
Speaker
And as far as work ethic go, do you think that's been helping your work ethic?
00:05:34
Speaker
Because you've probably seen some lazy guys in solar.
00:05:36
Speaker
Do you think that helps your work ethic coming from pest control?
00:05:40
Speaker
Yeah, coming from pest control, I'd say absolutely.
00:05:43
Speaker
I was with a smaller team out in the Sandy area.
00:05:46
Speaker
We'd go to Harriman, Eagle Mountain area.
00:05:50
Speaker
But yeah, you do work a lot.
00:05:52
Speaker
I'd say having a manager, someone that can help you to be very structured with your schedule and be accountable to, that helps a ton.
00:06:00
Speaker
And if you don't have that accountability, you need to find that, especially if you struggle.
00:06:05
Speaker
absolutely find someone to be accountable to working more hours.
00:06:08
Speaker
Yeah, gotcha.
00:06:10
Speaker
So yeah, maybe if you feel yourself getting lazy in a solar go-to summer pest control, that'll show you.
00:06:17
Speaker
That'll kick you in gear for sure.
00:06:19
Speaker
That'll show you we got a pretty lucky compared to those guys.
00:06:22
Speaker
But yeah, so you went through some pretty crazy challenges too, I know, Brandon, because we were talking just before

Personal Challenges and Work Ethic

00:06:29
Speaker
this.
00:06:29
Speaker
So do you mind kind of speaking to that and just telling, I don't know exactly when it was in the timeline, but maybe tell us about some of the challenges you went through and all that.
00:06:39
Speaker
Yeah, so growing up, I mean, it was all right.
00:06:42
Speaker
I had a really...
00:06:45
Speaker
different type of family dynamic.
00:06:46
Speaker
Both my parents were divorced.
00:06:50
Speaker
I grew up LDS and I still would say I'm still LDS as like yes.
00:06:55
Speaker
But growing up I just had a lot of struggles like internal struggles with my family.
00:07:01
Speaker
Like my brother had a huge falling out from my parents and that just created a lot of family drama.
00:07:07
Speaker
My dad has been a super hard worker all his life.
00:07:09
Speaker
He's a mechanic and
00:07:11
Speaker
When you're in that type of field, if anyone has been doing blue-collar type work, it's hard stuff.
00:07:17
Speaker
He's been a huge example to me in terms of work ethic.
00:07:21
Speaker
Then I did a mission for two years after I graduated high school from 15 to 17.
00:07:25
Speaker
I was in Idaho.
00:07:26
Speaker
It was a really good time.
00:07:29
Speaker
I was kind of disappointed when I found out I'd be going there, but I really loved it.
00:07:33
Speaker
Got back, went straight into phone sales.
00:07:36
Speaker
They did credit repair for about a year.
00:07:38
Speaker
Just sold people who struggled to get either a loan or they were trying to get a house, but their credit was holding them back.
00:07:45
Speaker
So I'd help them to fix, basically sell a credit repair service, like a monthly credit repair service to help them fix their credit.
00:07:52
Speaker
I was one of the top reps in that industry.
00:07:56
Speaker
There was like 5,000 or so people that worked for the company.
00:07:58
Speaker
I was consistently like top 10 every single day.
00:08:02
Speaker
And what I kind of like what helped me and I was listening to I think it was Zane earlier, like in the Solarcon.
00:08:07
Speaker
And he talks about like finding someone that has been able to perform at a really high level, learning what they're doing and then kind of adjusting it to make it your own.
00:08:16
Speaker
And I feel like that's what's given me a lot of success with that.
00:08:19
Speaker
Same thing with pest control.
00:08:20
Speaker
So soon after I transitioned from phone sales, I actually got married.
00:08:26
Speaker
I got engaged and got married soon afterwards.
00:08:30
Speaker
And my ex had a lot of health issues, a lot of mental problems that kind of came from the health issues.
00:08:38
Speaker
And I actually got let go.
00:08:40
Speaker
from the company I was with.
00:08:42
Speaker
It was good timing though.
00:08:44
Speaker
It was good timing.
00:08:45
Speaker
We just had a coach that came in.
00:08:46
Speaker
It was a law firm and the coach had us do a couple things that wasn't up to protocol with the rest of the company.
00:08:53
Speaker
So we all got let go, including our coach.
00:08:57
Speaker
And then I transitioned into pest control.
00:09:00
Speaker
It was about a year and a half or so.
00:09:02
Speaker
So I got married in like May of 2019.
00:09:05
Speaker
And then basically like before I was married though,
00:09:09
Speaker
I spent a while just taking care of my ex-wife.
00:09:12
Speaker
She had a lot of health conditions.
00:09:14
Speaker
She was very bedridden.
00:09:15
Speaker
It was really tough.
00:09:17
Speaker
But yeah, it was about 12 months.
00:09:19
Speaker
I basically lived in a repair warehouse for a while, just taking care of her like a CNA-type work.
00:09:24
Speaker
It was really intense.
00:09:27
Speaker
I learned a lot.
00:09:28
Speaker
But my issue, though, is I basically gave up all these different avenues and things I was working on in my life to just take care of one person.
00:09:36
Speaker
And you can't do that.
00:09:36
Speaker
You can't fill up a cup if yours isn't already full.
00:09:39
Speaker
Learned that the hard way.
00:09:41
Speaker
So she ended up leaving January of 2020, right when the pandemic hit, like around the same time.
00:09:48
Speaker
I did six months of pest control about in Utah, like in Salt Lake area.
00:09:54
Speaker
Finished up like two months in North Carolina.
00:09:57
Speaker
And then when I was in North Carolina, that's when she decided to just head out.

Overcoming Obstacles and Finding Success

00:10:01
Speaker
Found out that there was a lot more deep things that I couldn't really control.
00:10:05
Speaker
And I spent all of 2020 just in an insane depression.
00:10:08
Speaker
Like I literally, I lost like 35 pounds.
00:10:11
Speaker
I couldn't get out of bed.
00:10:13
Speaker
I was like borderline suicidal.
00:10:15
Speaker
It was really a dark period of my life because for me, like I gave everything, literally everything I had to like taking care of her and making, you can't make someone your everything.
00:10:24
Speaker
Obviously learn about the hard way.
00:10:27
Speaker
And then as a result of that, I just fell into a really deep depression because of abandonment problems.
00:10:36
Speaker
And then I ended up going to St.
00:10:37
Speaker
George after about eight months just being miserable.
00:10:40
Speaker
I spent a long time in North Carolina just doing nothing, just sleeping all day.
00:10:45
Speaker
And then I ended up going to St.
00:10:47
Speaker
George, and I maybe worked two weeks out of the whole year because I mentally couldn't do it.
00:10:51
Speaker
I would just break down and cry on the doors with people.
00:10:54
Speaker
because I was just in such a bad negative state of mind because of that depression I fell into.
00:11:00
Speaker
And I knocked on this guy's door.
00:11:02
Speaker
He sold for Aptiv.
00:11:03
Speaker
He was like a regional and Aptiv.
00:11:06
Speaker
And at that time, I was trying to sell locally in southern Utah for the company I started with.
00:11:13
Speaker
And then I ran into him.
00:11:14
Speaker
And his name is Talon, super awesome guy.
00:11:18
Speaker
He's a stud.
00:11:19
Speaker
He basically, one of those guys that would give you the shirt off of his back, he knew that I was struggling.
00:11:24
Speaker
He's someone that I emulated and I wanted to be a lot like him and kind of be where he was at in his life.
00:11:31
Speaker
Really, really great guy.
00:11:32
Speaker
He ended up leaving Aptiv to come do solar.
00:11:37
Speaker
A lot of the other top reps would leave.
00:11:40
Speaker
Basically, we're all seeing this right now.
00:11:41
Speaker
There's just a huge influx of people coming into the solar industry because there's a lot of money to be had.
00:11:46
Speaker
It's a huge growing industry, probably one of the fastest ones.
00:11:50
Speaker
Then he told me about solar and he's like, yeah, it sounds awesome.
00:11:55
Speaker
It's very solar to pass control.
00:11:56
Speaker
You can set appointments.
00:11:58
Speaker
And I was like, yeah, I'd like to look into it.
00:12:00
Speaker
And he's like, well, we're actually going to be leaving to Dallas tomorrow.
00:12:03
Speaker
I'm like, all right, let's go.
00:12:06
Speaker
So packed my bags, literally 24-hour notice, followed him to Dallas.
00:12:10
Speaker
Well, I guess we started in Corpus Christi.
00:12:13
Speaker
And I was still always with a different company.
00:12:15
Speaker
Didn't have the best experience.
00:12:17
Speaker
Was only there for like two weeks.
00:12:18
Speaker
And then I spent like three months in limbo trying to figure out what the next play was.
00:12:22
Speaker
And then ended up moving to Legacy, which is where I did the summer out in Dallas area.
00:12:29
Speaker
Good experience.
00:12:30
Speaker
And then I ended up finding a local company in southern Utah where I live back here where I've been with Ionix since September.
00:12:36
Speaker
And it's been good.
00:12:38
Speaker
It's been a really good journey.
00:12:42
Speaker
I love solar.
00:12:43
Speaker
I'm really passionate about it.
00:12:45
Speaker
And I feel like just being passionate about it has been a game changer for me.
00:12:50
Speaker
But yeah, so a lot of struggles.
00:12:51
Speaker
Obviously, I saw a lot of people that had really good work ethic, a lot of people that didn't.
00:12:58
Speaker
And I've always wanted to emulate the people that did.
00:13:00
Speaker
But when you're coming from a place of depression and somewhere that's a really dark place,
00:13:06
Speaker
and trying to like get out of that.
00:13:08
Speaker
I feel like what helped me to get through that was just surrounding yourself around people that can help you level up and like be accountable to and getting a life coach, getting a mentor.
00:13:20
Speaker
I feel like that's been a huge game changer for me.
00:13:23
Speaker
That's awesome.

Mentorship and Accountability's Role in Success

00:13:24
Speaker
That's good to hear because yeah, as we were talking just before this too, like you know, there's so many people in solar and just door to door in general.
00:13:31
Speaker
who, uh, you know, struggle with addiction.
00:13:33
Speaker
I've seen it with, uh, you know, work ethic, a lot of people with divorced parents with, uh, you know, rough childhoods, things like that.
00:13:41
Speaker
So I think it's something that needs to be, uh, spoken to for sure.
00:13:44
Speaker
And, um,
00:13:45
Speaker
You know, I appreciate guys like you sharing the story and stuff that has helped because as you know, it's like, you know, I've had days on top of that knocking doors where people are, you know, jerks out there.
00:13:57
Speaker
People are slamming doors in your face.
00:14:00
Speaker
You got, you know, just you're seeing the worst sometimes, seeing the worst in people out there in the doors.
00:14:06
Speaker
So you'd put that on top of like struggles with depression or any mental issues.
00:14:09
Speaker
It's like,
00:14:11
Speaker
just stacks makes it really difficult yeah yeah and so i don't yeah i i don't think i've ever been depressed but i've had super rough days out there and i'm like man i can't even imagine how rough that would be if i was like feeling super depressed on top of all this stuff yeah going in the doors so i know it's super cool to see you um you know kind of overcome it and
00:14:31
Speaker
see the success you're having now and uh no I respect guys like you that have gone through that but yeah so you talked about like a life coach and um surrounding yourself with people is there any like specific things that's I don't know working with a coach or like specific things that like really helped you that you were coached through or
00:14:50
Speaker
I don't know, anything that you would add to that?
00:14:53
Speaker
I mean, so like the one that I was talking about, so Talon, the guy that kind of like recruited me into the solar industry, like he's been a huge backbone for like as a support system, I'd say.
00:15:07
Speaker
And then obviously like finding another life coach on top of that.
00:15:12
Speaker
investing in yourself.
00:15:13
Speaker
So like for me, like having someone you can be accountable to is huge.
00:15:17
Speaker
So like I, I'm on the phone all the time right now.
00:15:20
Speaker
I've like, I've been doing decently well.
00:15:23
Speaker
Like I've been a top performer in my company as a setter for a while.
00:15:28
Speaker
But I feel like what really helped me make the jump from like
00:15:31
Speaker
a pretty above average setter to like pretty phenomenal would be the Knox star of course, like the United program specifically working with Taylor McCarthy and Danny Pesci and like really soaking up all the things that they have to share.
00:15:45
Speaker
And then like, if you don't have a lot of people around you that are at the level that you want to be at, you need to find those people and surround yourself around them and learn from those people.
00:15:57
Speaker
And more than just your inside organization, even if you have killers and really good talent inside your current organization, it's good to kind of expand outwards because there's so much more knowledge that's on the table that can help push you.
00:16:10
Speaker
But yeah, having someone to be accountable to, like a weekly coaching call that we do every week to make sure that we're all producing.
00:16:18
Speaker
And then not just that, but having some sort of competition or something to work for or someone to compete against has been a game changer.
00:16:25
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
00:16:25
Speaker
I know you've taken advantage of it.
00:16:27
Speaker
And so I think especially if you're at maybe a company that doesn't have super high producers or maybe a smaller company, I think it's even more valuable.
00:16:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:37
Speaker
We've seen some pretty insane performances, pretty insane, you know, deals closed and all that by guys in the program.
00:16:44
Speaker
So yeah, definitely recommended by both of us, I think.
00:16:48
Speaker
But yeah, and
00:16:49
Speaker
Like I mentioned at the beginning, your work ethic, how many hours would you say you put in this competition?
00:16:57
Speaker
A crazy amount.
00:17:00
Speaker
It was nuts.
00:17:01
Speaker
It was so crazy.
00:17:03
Speaker
It was basically about a month and a half long, right around there.
00:17:07
Speaker
We started with 30-something people.
00:17:09
Speaker
got down to the final two.
00:17:12
Speaker
Throughout the competition, I'd say on average, I'd probably get on the doors around 12 and then knock till 9.30.
00:17:18
Speaker
I would not stop till 9.30.
00:17:22
Speaker
I was very strict to those hours.
00:17:26
Speaker
Obviously, sometimes I would get there a little bit later.
00:17:28
Speaker
I could get there at 1.30,
00:17:30
Speaker
But to accommodate, I'd go at 10.30 the next day.
00:17:32
Speaker
I always made sure I was spending at least about nine and a half hours every single day.
00:17:38
Speaker
There was one day, actually, because we were doing a blitz in Colorado.
00:17:41
Speaker
And I did pretty well in Colorado.
00:17:45
Speaker
And we ended up driving because our Airbnb was ending and we were going to go back to St.
00:17:50
Speaker
George.
00:17:51
Speaker
So I literally, we left at like 11 PM.
00:17:54
Speaker
We did a full knocking day, left at 11 PM, got to St.
00:17:57
Speaker
George at like nine in the morning.
00:17:58
Speaker
I took a three hour nap and then hit the doors again, like, and worked till 930 because it's a competition.
00:18:04
Speaker
You got to be bought in.
00:18:05
Speaker
You have to be like, like, I just, I saw that leaderboard.

Work Ethic and Self-Improvement

00:18:10
Speaker
I saw that bracket at the very beginning.
00:18:11
Speaker
And I was like,
00:18:13
Speaker
okay, there are some really heavy hitters in here.
00:18:16
Speaker
There's Ty Sieglin, there's Melissa, there's some really... Christian Maroney, the absolute legend.
00:18:24
Speaker
I was like, I'm going up against these guys?
00:18:26
Speaker
There's no way.
00:18:27
Speaker
These guys have so much experience on me.
00:18:29
Speaker
They are just closing left and right.
00:18:32
Speaker
And then somehow...
00:18:34
Speaker
By some miracle, I made it to the final round against Derek Moore.
00:18:38
Speaker
And at that last week, especially the last week, I really amped it up.
00:18:42
Speaker
And I told Christian, I texted him, like, dude, I'm going to kill myself over this competition.
00:18:47
Speaker
I am going so hard during this last week.
00:18:50
Speaker
I need to win this.
00:18:51
Speaker
And I ended up, that's the week that I got 10 deals closed on the week.
00:18:57
Speaker
And then Derek came out with like eight self-gens and another set that he closed.
00:19:03
Speaker
So he ended up taking the W. But like you can't compare yourself to someone who's at another level who's been doing it for years.
00:19:10
Speaker
It's like at the gym.
00:19:11
Speaker
Like you can't compare yourself to the guy that's like jacked out of his mind.
00:19:14
Speaker
He's been doing it for 18 years and you're brand new at it.
00:19:17
Speaker
You know, you got to compare yourself to yourself and then just focus on steady improvements and trying to be better than you were the day before.
00:19:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:25
Speaker
It was a battle.
00:19:26
Speaker
You had a lot of experience.
00:19:27
Speaker
You gave them all you could handle.
00:19:30
Speaker
I ended up scoring, I think I was about the second highest scorer
00:19:35
Speaker
like matched with Melissa and Christian.
00:19:37
Speaker
And then Derek just came out of nowhere and just blew it out of the water.
00:19:41
Speaker
I ended that, I think it ended on Monday and I had four deals closed on Monday.
00:19:46
Speaker
One of them was a self-gen, three of them were sets that closed.
00:19:50
Speaker
And I thought he was at nine points because he's still messaging me.
00:19:52
Speaker
He's like, yeah, dude, I'm not feeling that good.
00:19:55
Speaker
I might take the day off.
00:19:57
Speaker
And then I see, like, I wake up in the morning and he just posts three self-gens and he closed.
00:20:01
Speaker
I'm like, what?
00:20:03
Speaker
I was all calling my dad.
00:20:04
Speaker
I'm like, I won.
00:20:04
Speaker
Like, it's over.
00:20:05
Speaker
Like, I got it.
00:20:07
Speaker
And then I look in the morning and I just see that.
00:20:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:10
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:11
Speaker
He was holding out.
00:20:12
Speaker
But no, that was awesome.
00:20:14
Speaker
Competitions.
00:20:15
Speaker
Competitions are, they're a lot of fun.
00:20:17
Speaker
They make the job a lot more enjoyable.
00:20:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:20
Speaker
No, that one.
00:20:21
Speaker
You bought in too.
00:20:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:22
Speaker
It's cool to see.
00:20:23
Speaker
That's how you, you know, make a ton of money in.
00:20:25
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:26
Speaker
And when is you fully buy in?
00:20:28
Speaker
But yeah, so I want to hear, like, I don't know, do you have any, have you always had this insane work ethic?
00:20:33
Speaker
No.
00:20:34
Speaker
Like, how did you develop this?
00:20:37
Speaker
I've always worked a little bit, like, I mean, I've always been a hard worker.
00:20:42
Speaker
But I've never been that, like, I've never cracked to this type of, like,
00:20:46
Speaker
high production or this high work ethic.
00:20:49
Speaker
And I think, I don't remember who talks about it, but there's like three main things that you want to have in your life if you're in sales to get better at what you do.
00:20:59
Speaker
One is like having someone you can teach, like someone you're training that you're going to have to be there for and like make sure that they're being accountable to you.
00:21:07
Speaker
And then find someone you can compete with on a similar skill level or slightly, preferably slightly better than you.
00:21:13
Speaker
And for me, I was working with some new people in St.
00:21:16
Speaker
George that I was training, which helps to be accountable to them.
00:21:20
Speaker
And then the second one is having someone to compete with.
00:21:23
Speaker
And obviously, you guys have probably seen me post a lot of my stories on Instagram.
00:21:27
Speaker
I'm always competing with Christian.
00:21:28
Speaker
I always see him posting.
00:21:30
Speaker
That whole week, we were head-to-head.
00:21:33
Speaker
I'd be on Instagram, and I'd just look at his story.
00:21:36
Speaker
I'd pull out my phone.
00:21:37
Speaker
I'm like, did he get a deal yet?
00:21:39
Speaker
I'm like trying to make sure you didn't get a deal yet.
00:21:42
Speaker
Just going super hard.
00:21:44
Speaker
Find someone to compete with that you can be accountable to and accountable with your hours.
00:21:49
Speaker
And then find someone who's like ahead, like where you want to be, someone that you want to emulate.
00:21:53
Speaker
And for me, obviously Taylor McCarthy, that's someone that I want to be, I want to emulate, I want to get to that level of high production and of conviction.
00:22:04
Speaker
But yeah, having those three types of
00:22:06
Speaker
people in your life.
00:22:07
Speaker
If you don't have one of those, make sure you're able to find someone you can be accountable to that you can compete with.
00:22:13
Speaker
Find someone you can train and then someone you can look up to and emulate and to learn from like a coach.
00:22:19
Speaker
Okay, that's awesome advice.
00:22:21
Speaker
Yeah, so if you're listening to this, write those things down because I think that's going to be a game changer.
00:22:26
Speaker
Yeah, especially the ones training guys.
00:22:28
Speaker
You don't have to be a manager to train guys, but I notice when I've been managing teams, I've always produced better.
00:22:36
Speaker
just because of that simple thing, just because people are looking up to you.
00:22:39
Speaker
And then, like, I don't know, especially if you're taking guys out, if you're training guys.
00:22:43
Speaker
Like, if you're struggling to even get out on the doors, I think one of the best guys just takes, best advice, just take someone out and train them, right?
00:22:50
Speaker
Yeah, and I think that's a big thing for me because, like, I've always been pretty good at what I'm doing.
00:22:55
Speaker
Like, I picked it up pretty fast.
00:22:56
Speaker
Yeah.
00:22:58
Speaker
I think there was only one day where I didn't get a set appointment.
00:23:01
Speaker
I posted about it and I was like, I worked all day today.
00:23:04
Speaker
I think it was like a seven-hour day that I did.
00:23:06
Speaker
I got zero.
00:23:06
Speaker
It was the only day in my career where I never set an appointment.
00:23:10
Speaker
I was like, I just ran into nonstop renters, like everyone moving, no one qualified, bad credit.
00:23:15
Speaker
They didn't use enough power for it to make sense for them.
00:23:19
Speaker
I got that like every single door.
00:23:21
Speaker
So I think it was an outlier day.
00:23:23
Speaker
But for me, I guess coming out of that dark place that I was in,
00:23:28
Speaker
The big thing that helped me through that is having all three of those boxes, a person for every category, especially like just someone that can be accountable to push you and like be in your corner.
00:23:38
Speaker
And then I spend a lot of time training.
00:23:41
Speaker
I spend a lot of time like learning from people that are a lot better than me.
00:23:46
Speaker
And then just learning from them, picking their brain, finding out what works, and then having that support system because
00:23:55
Speaker
If you're asking someone, what can I do to get better, always having that student mentality.
00:23:59
Speaker
And I'm still in people's Instagrams asking them, dude, I see you crashing it.
00:24:04
Speaker
You're out here killing it.
00:24:06
Speaker
What's working for you?
00:24:07
Speaker
What's not working?
00:24:08
Speaker
And just always being a student of the game.
00:24:10
Speaker
I love that.
00:24:11
Speaker
And even in our Knox Star chat, I saw you super active in there.
00:24:17
Speaker
No wonder he's crushing it.
00:24:19
Speaker
He's new, but he's just wanting to get as much wisdom as he can.
00:24:24
Speaker
So no, I think that's huge having that student mentality and just...
00:24:28
Speaker
Yeah, and then the more you learn, I think you get excited to go out and apply it out there on the doors, you know, as you're learning this stuff.
00:24:36
Speaker
So, yeah, crazy to see you, yeah, just, you know, put in that crazy amount of hours that you did.
00:24:43
Speaker
Yeah.
00:24:44
Speaker
But what's, yeah, like we mentioned at the beginning of the show, I think some of the most, well, probably the most impressive day I saw from you is out there on Easter Sunday.
00:24:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:24:55
Speaker
Out there knocking in Utah.
00:24:56
Speaker
Yeah.
00:24:57
Speaker
I couldn't believe it.
00:24:58
Speaker
I'm like, man, I'm not willing to do what this is.
00:25:02
Speaker
No wonder he's kicking my butt in the competition.
00:25:05
Speaker
Were you always planning to go out and work?
00:25:09
Speaker
No, that was the last thing I wanted to do.
00:25:11
Speaker
I was having an internal conflict because I'd never worked a Sunday in my life.
00:25:15
Speaker
I am Christian and I'm like...
00:25:18
Speaker
It's not, you're not supposed to work on Sunday if you don't absolutely have to, but I'm like, I've given everything to this competition.
00:25:26
Speaker
Like, I've bought in.
00:25:28
Speaker
I have put in so much time and so much work into this, like,
00:25:31
Speaker
And we were tied going into Sunday.
00:25:33
Speaker
It was 9-9 on the scoreboard.
00:25:35
Speaker
And I'm like, this guy's got a lot of experience on me.
00:25:37
Speaker
I think he's not working today.
00:25:39
Speaker
I'm going to go.
00:25:40
Speaker
Today's going to be the day that if I don't show up, then he's going to take the win.
00:25:45
Speaker
I've got to go today.
00:25:46
Speaker
So I ended up going, and everyone was like,
00:25:50
Speaker
You think people are really friendly in Utah?
00:25:53
Speaker
They're just super accommodating.
00:25:55
Speaker
Like, oh, here, have some water.
00:25:56
Speaker
Here's some Jell-O.
00:25:58
Speaker
And then literally every single person, do you know what day it is?
00:26:02
Speaker
It's Easter Sunday.
00:26:04
Speaker
Go home.
00:26:05
Speaker
Go be with your family.
00:26:06
Speaker
I had one person.
00:26:07
Speaker
We installed their neighbor, and the guy answered the door and setting his appointment with him.
00:26:13
Speaker
Someone that I followed up with already.
00:26:15
Speaker
And he's like, oh yeah, the neighbor just got slower.
00:26:17
Speaker
And everyone in Solor knows those are lay downs, like 100% lay downs.
00:26:21
Speaker
So I'm like, awesome.
00:26:22
Speaker
I was getting this set.
00:26:23
Speaker
His wife peeks her head around the corner of the door.
00:26:26
Speaker
And she's all like, do you know what day it is?
00:26:28
Speaker
I'm like, oh no.
00:26:30
Speaker
There you go.
00:26:30
Speaker
She's like, I was going to work with your company, but now I'm not because you're out here on Easter.
00:26:35
Speaker
So it was tough.
00:26:36
Speaker
I was messaging Taylor McCarthy.
00:26:38
Speaker
I was like, dude, I'm just getting smashed today.
00:26:42
Speaker
I went like five hours without a single set.
00:26:44
Speaker
I was just getting destroyed.
00:26:46
Speaker
And he's like, you just got to change your approach.
00:26:49
Speaker
You just got to change a couple words when you're very first talking to them, build a little bit more curiosity.
00:26:55
Speaker
You want to be a little bit more blunt with people.
00:26:58
Speaker
And I was just like,
00:26:59
Speaker
look, I know it's Easter.
00:27:00
Speaker
I'd rather be home.
00:27:02
Speaker
Obviously, there's a reason why I'm here.
00:27:04
Speaker
And they kind of just eight-mile the objection, bring it up before they do, and then kind of build the curiosity with that.
00:27:11
Speaker
But yeah, that was intense.
00:27:12
Speaker
Probably the worst day I've ever knocked.
00:27:15
Speaker
in my history, in my whole career.
00:27:16
Speaker
Worse than the zero day.
00:27:18
Speaker
Worse than the zero day.
00:27:19
Speaker
That was miserable.
00:27:20
Speaker
I did not want to be there.
00:27:21
Speaker
I wanted to be home.
00:27:22
Speaker
I was like, this sucks.
00:27:24
Speaker
Like it goes against everything I believe in and stand for.
00:27:26
Speaker
And I was just like, oh my gosh, these people, like I was so frustrated, but like I just had to, had to like,
00:27:34
Speaker
take some time and just re-center myself and then try to change the way that I was talking to people a little bit, especially like with the first couple words.
00:27:48
Speaker
And yeah, I feel like just having that dedication to just go out there
00:27:53
Speaker
I gave it all I had.
00:27:55
Speaker
I literally gave everything I had that day.
00:27:56
Speaker
And I ended up walking away with six appointments on Easter in Utah.
00:28:01
Speaker
And one of them actually closed.
00:28:02
Speaker
It was like a 12 kilowatt.
00:28:04
Speaker
Oh, my gosh.
00:28:04
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:05
Speaker
Wow.
00:28:06
Speaker
So it paid off.
00:28:07
Speaker
Yeah, it paid off.
00:28:08
Speaker
So God still understood.
00:28:10
Speaker
Yeah, I guess so.
00:28:11
Speaker
Worked on the Sabbath day.
00:28:12
Speaker
Don't tell anyone.
00:28:14
Speaker
I won't tell you Bishop, but no, that's wild man.
00:28:18
Speaker
And yeah, I mean, I was just telling you before we started recording.
00:28:21
Speaker
I mean, obviously you're single and all that now.
00:28:24
Speaker
And so, um,
00:28:26
Speaker
We were just talking, do those crazy things while you don't have a family.
00:28:32
Speaker
I got two kids now, I can't be it.
00:28:34
Speaker
My wife would have killed me if I was out there skipping our kids Easter egg, knocking doors.
00:28:39
Speaker
You obviously still got results.
00:28:42
Speaker
You said five hours you didn't get a single appointment, right?
00:28:44
Speaker
Yeah, it was around five hours.
00:28:46
Speaker
The six appointments all came after.
00:28:50
Speaker
And that's the thing is, like, I said, like, during the competition, like, I would not stop till 9.30 at least.
00:28:56
Speaker
Like, I'd go till 10 or even after 10 sometimes.
00:28:59
Speaker
I did post one, like, one Instagram story where I was out there till, like, 10 o'clock and the lady got her bill for me and, like, set the appointment with her.
00:29:07
Speaker
Like, you just got to have a different approach to it.
00:29:10
Speaker
Like, when you're working on a day like that or when you're working on, like, super late at night, like,
00:29:16
Speaker
I only go to homes that have lights on, of course.
00:29:18
Speaker
I'm not waking people up.
00:29:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:20
Speaker
And I'm just like, I just take a different approach.
00:29:22
Speaker
I'm like, look, I know it's dark.
00:29:23
Speaker
I know it's freezing cold outside.
00:29:24
Speaker
I almost make them feel bad that I'm knocking on their door.
00:29:27
Speaker
Like, I make them feel bad for me.
00:29:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:28
Speaker
Like, look, I know it's freezing out here.
00:29:31
Speaker
Like, you're the last place I'm going to tonight.
00:29:33
Speaker
Like, it's obviously important why I'm here.
00:29:36
Speaker
Let me just, like, you obviously, you have an issue going on and just bring it up, bring up whatever is common.
00:29:42
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:42
Speaker
If they're doing the grid hardening, if they're going to time of use billing, like bring up whatever the personalized situation is for the area, and just kind of make it a big deal.
00:29:52
Speaker
Like it's obviously important why I'm here knocking on your door so late.
00:29:56
Speaker
So then just build some curiosity.
00:29:57
Speaker
Yeah, there's so many.
00:29:59
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:59
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:00
Speaker
So many nuggets in that.
00:30:02
Speaker
And what's crazy?
00:30:03
Speaker
Well, yeah, I mean, you go five hours without getting anything, and then it all comes after that.
00:30:07
Speaker
That happens so many times.
00:30:09
Speaker
So many times.
00:30:10
Speaker
I probably made more of my money because it's prime time.
00:30:13
Speaker
Everyone's home.
00:30:14
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:14
Speaker
You know, like after five, everyone's home.
00:30:16
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:16
Speaker
It's just a matter of your mindset and telling yourself that there are deals to be had even after dark.
00:30:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:22
Speaker
Well, on Easter Sunday, I mean, everyone was home, right?
00:30:26
Speaker
That was tough.
00:30:27
Speaker
We weren't hearing you out.
00:30:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:29
Speaker
So I think that's great because for those listening, it's like how many times are you just getting shut down after shut down after shut down?
00:30:36
Speaker
And maybe you're thinking about quitting.
00:30:38
Speaker
I did not.
00:30:39
Speaker
I was literally about to drive home.
00:30:40
Speaker
I was like, this is the worst thing I've ever done in my life.
00:30:43
Speaker
I think I would have for sure.
00:30:45
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:46
Speaker
You kept going and then the results came after that.
00:30:49
Speaker
So how many did you knock?
00:30:50
Speaker
Eight hours that day?
00:30:52
Speaker
Yeah, I think I started at like, it must have been around 12.30 or so when I first got out there.
00:31:00
Speaker
Wow.
00:31:01
Speaker
Then, yeah, 9.30 is when I stopped.
00:31:04
Speaker
That's crazy.
00:31:05
Speaker
Thank you.
00:31:05
Speaker
Let's start this camera again.
00:31:10
Speaker
That's the 30-minute mark.
00:31:12
Speaker
Yeah, so out there in Easter, were people giving you like Easter potatoes and stuff?
00:31:18
Speaker
No.
00:31:19
Speaker
Not at all.
00:31:20
Speaker
No.
00:31:21
Speaker
Just like get out of here.
00:31:22
Speaker
Yeah, basically.
00:31:23
Speaker
You're like get lost, go back to your family.
00:31:26
Speaker
I'm like, okay, all right, let me go to your neighbor and try to set an appointment with them.
00:31:33
Speaker
Well, incredible, man.
00:31:34
Speaker
No, that's some insane work ethic right there.
00:31:38
Speaker
So Brandon, just to kind of
00:31:40
Speaker
start wrapping up here.
00:31:42
Speaker
You're obviously one of the best, well, that I know of.
00:31:44
Speaker
I think you're one of the best appointment setters I've seen for sure in solar.
00:31:50
Speaker
And well, how many appointments did you like set in this week?
00:31:54
Speaker
I'm not talking about closes, but how many actual appointments would you say you set in that last week at the competition?

Efficient Appointment Setting Strategies

00:32:00
Speaker
So on Monday, I think it was towards the end of it.
00:32:04
Speaker
I think I had
00:32:05
Speaker
Yeah, I think Sunday night, I was looking at the schedule for Monday, and I was telling everyone, we need all hands on deck Monday.
00:32:12
Speaker
It's going to be a huge day.
00:32:14
Speaker
I think I had about 25 personal appointments that I set for Monday between everyone.
00:32:22
Speaker
And the thing that, like my power struggle the whole time, like I was blowing up everyone's phones because I'm new to closing and we were short staffed.
00:32:29
Speaker
A lot of people were out for like Easter.
00:32:31
Speaker
A lot of the people only do blitzes.
00:32:34
Speaker
So like a lot of our top talent, they were just unavailable just to be, they were just unavailable.
00:32:40
Speaker
So we're dealing with a lot of like newer closers, people that are like, like they're great.
00:32:44
Speaker
Like they're very, very talented, but they're just kind of newer.
00:32:48
Speaker
Like don't have as much experience.
00:32:49
Speaker
And obviously with experience comes,
00:32:52
Speaker
more production.
00:32:53
Speaker
So I was basically short staffed and I was like calling everyone.
00:32:57
Speaker
I was calling all of the top talent in the company, blowing up their phones like every single day of that last week of the competition.
00:33:03
Speaker
I'm like giving them like five calls a day to every single person like we need you out here.
00:33:09
Speaker
Like I need help.
00:33:11
Speaker
Like we need to get this going.
00:33:12
Speaker
I've got all these appointments lined up.
00:33:15
Speaker
But yeah, it was intense.
00:33:18
Speaker
I set a ton of appointments.
00:33:19
Speaker
I couldn't tell you how many.
00:33:21
Speaker
I just focus on input.
00:33:22
Speaker
If they cancel, that just tells me I've got to go set three more and just focus on getting the next one.
00:33:28
Speaker
I don't focus on cancellations.
00:33:30
Speaker
I just focus on the controllables, just maximizing your input.
00:33:35
Speaker
Having an abundance mindset is huge.
00:33:37
Speaker
Just telling yourself that there are so many people that want this and that need this.
00:33:42
Speaker
They just need you to take the time to find them and meet with them, set the appointment.
00:33:49
Speaker
I think a big thing that I do a little bit differently is I start, I have a little bit of a cycle I go through.
00:33:56
Speaker
Like I bring up the concern, like the pain, I guess, like your power bill's going up, you're renting your power.
00:34:02
Speaker
And then I bring up the, I bring up like the solution.
00:34:07
Speaker
Like I'm sure you've seen a lot of the people who have been doing this in the neighborhood.
00:34:11
Speaker
Like there's a reason why so many people are going solar.
00:34:13
Speaker
It's because the rates are just going to keep going through the roof.
00:34:16
Speaker
So this is a way to throw out the bill and replace it with something that would be fixed and it won't go up ever again.
00:34:21
Speaker
And then I just tell them like,
00:34:24
Speaker
So what I'll do is I'll put a proposal together, either myself or a consultant of mine can pop back by later and just share it with you, you and your spouse home.
00:34:32
Speaker
I keep it super simple.
00:34:33
Speaker
I don't really overcomplicate it.
00:34:35
Speaker
I keep it very simple.
00:34:37
Speaker
And then throughout the presentation, if there's any awkward breaks, like if the dog comes out or if their kids come home, talk about
00:34:46
Speaker
actual things with them, like build rapport.
00:34:47
Speaker
I think that's a huge thing that's been helping my appointments actually sit is building rapport.
00:34:52
Speaker
Because if you don't do that, you're literally just a salesman to them.
00:34:55
Speaker
Like you're just a guy at the door and you're not differentiating yourself.
00:34:59
Speaker
But just genuinely building rapport with people has been huge in terms of like getting appointments to stick.
00:35:05
Speaker
I love that.
00:35:06
Speaker
For those that are struggling setting your appointments, yeah, I hope you're taking notes on that, but bringing up the concern before they can bring it up.
00:35:14
Speaker
you know uh knowing how to like divert when kids come home dogs are barking recognize it build some rapport around it um you know but yeah i think more than anything just putting in the hours you know yeah that's the big thing is just putting in the time like working harder being the hardest worker in your office like setting the pace setting the standard and then like once you do that and once you do it consistently then it's like
00:35:38
Speaker
you're setting yourself at a much higher level.
00:35:40
Speaker
And if you don't do that, then you're letting yourself down, you're letting other people down that look up to you.
00:35:45
Speaker
So just do what it takes, put in the time.
00:35:49
Speaker
That's all it is.
00:35:50
Speaker
It's literally just time.
00:35:51
Speaker
I've just put in more time than other people.
00:35:54
Speaker
I'm not special.
00:35:55
Speaker
I'm not amazing at what, I am good at what I do, but I'm not something that you're not capable of becoming.
00:36:02
Speaker
It's just time on the doors, just putting in more time, just showing up, being consistent.
00:36:07
Speaker
having an abundance mindset and just putting in the time really.
00:36:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:36:12
Speaker
No, because I think you've probably seen it, but so many people are like, oh, Brandon, what can I do?
00:36:15
Speaker
What can I do?
00:36:17
Speaker
And at the same time, they're only up and knocking two hours a day.
00:36:19
Speaker
It's like, dude.
00:36:20
Speaker
well yeah, I can teach you this stuff, but none of that matters if you're not putting, you know, if you're fishing, you're lying in the water.
00:36:26
Speaker
Exactly.
00:36:27
Speaker
You're catching up fish, you know what I mean?
00:36:29
Speaker
So yeah, I think that's the first question that people should be asking yourself is how much time are you actually inputting in it, but then obviously combine it with some of these things you were talking about, you know, overcoming objections, bringing up objections before they can, and all these, creating the problem.
00:36:44
Speaker
Both things are huge.
00:36:45
Speaker
That's going to take it to the next level.
00:36:48
Speaker
And then, yeah, I mean, it's crazy.
00:36:52
Speaker
You work so much that even those at your company are like, Brandon, stop working.
00:36:56
Speaker
We don't have to work on Easter.
00:36:59
Speaker
We can just work more.
00:37:00
Speaker
That's when you know you've got a good work ethic.
00:37:05
Speaker
Even the guys at your company, they can't keep up with breaking the system there.
00:37:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:37:10
Speaker
That's awesome.
00:37:11
Speaker
And so, no, you've done some awesome things.
00:37:14
Speaker
I can't wait to see what's next for you, Brandon.
00:37:16
Speaker
You're crushing it.
00:37:17
Speaker
But, yeah, anything else that you would before we wrap up here, any other advice you give for just, I don't know, maybe guys struggling to set appointments?

Advice for New Solar Reps

00:37:25
Speaker
I know we kind of covered some, probably the big things there, but anything else you would say that's really helped you just, like, start to crush it in solar and set appointments and, I don't know, any other advice you'd have with it?
00:37:37
Speaker
Yeah.
00:37:38
Speaker
Other than just being like putting in the time, like being the hardest worker, like work harder than everyone else and like pride yourself for that.
00:37:45
Speaker
Like take pride in that, that you have that type of work ethic.
00:37:48
Speaker
Like that's a very rare thing, especially in the solar industry.
00:37:52
Speaker
Finding someone to be accountable to, getting a coach.
00:37:55
Speaker
Those are all like hacks.
00:37:56
Speaker
Like if I would have,
00:37:58
Speaker
If I could have gone back, like instead of, because I have a little bit of a history with like cryptocurrency, like anyone that knows me, I started, I put a lot of money into cryptocurrency.
00:38:08
Speaker
The war in Ukraine ended up like crashing my entire like portfolio balance, like lost like 85% of the value because of the war.
00:38:15
Speaker
Everyone pulled out of their assets in that regard.
00:38:20
Speaker
I basically,
00:38:21
Speaker
made a lot of money and then started over from scratch twice already.
00:38:25
Speaker
Like I lost a lot through the divorce and then I lost a lot through that war.
00:38:28
Speaker
But I've been able to recreate that wealth that took me like five, six months in solar.
00:38:33
Speaker
I've been able to do that in less than a month because of the skills that you develop.
00:38:38
Speaker
But for newer reps, just don't compare yourself to other people.
00:38:44
Speaker
Find someone that you can help accelerate your growth.
00:38:48
Speaker
A better place for me to put that money would be back into myself.
00:38:51
Speaker
Investing that into myself sooner, I would have gotten... It's kind of crazy to think about how much further along I could have gotten if I would have invested in myself first and then had those support systems to help me get to where I was, where I am now.
00:39:06
Speaker
Yeah.
00:39:07
Speaker
Yeah, because you probably wouldn't have worked this hard if you weren't in the Noxstar competition.
00:39:12
Speaker
No.
00:39:13
Speaker
So before that, my best month was 13 Dills before I started with Noxstar.
00:39:18
Speaker
And then that was 13 Dills that closed by other people.
00:39:22
Speaker
And then this month, on the 18th, I hit 20 Dills in 18 days.
00:39:27
Speaker
And seven of those were self-generated.
00:39:32
Speaker
And it's been wild.
00:39:33
Speaker
It's been a really good journey.
00:39:35
Speaker
Yeah, just focusing on input, having an abundance mindset, having a really strong work ethic, and finding people to spread the value with and to spread your knowledge with the things that you learn.
00:39:47
Speaker
And never be too proud to accept help or to accept knowledge from new people.
00:39:53
Speaker
Always be reaching out to people that are performing much better than you because that's what's going to help level you up faster.
00:39:59
Speaker
Yeah, that's fire, dude.
00:40:01
Speaker
Well, Brandon, thanks for coming on the show.
00:40:02
Speaker
And guys, just don't overcomplicate it.
00:40:04
Speaker
Like Brandon just gave us basically, you know, his entire, his entire roadmap to success right here.
00:40:12
Speaker
So if you follow what he's done, and I think that's all you've done is just follow successful people, right?
00:40:17
Speaker
You're always looking for people to model.
00:40:19
Speaker
Yep.
00:40:19
Speaker
There's a,
00:40:21
Speaker
If other people didn't do it, all you gotta do is model what's working for them and you're probably gonna get the same similar results.
00:40:27
Speaker
You gotta do what's worked for other people.
00:40:29
Speaker
Make it your own.
00:40:30
Speaker
Take what works and then make it your own.
00:40:31
Speaker
Find what works for you and keep your own personality involved in it.
00:40:35
Speaker
And then twist it.
00:40:36
Speaker
Use your own words.
00:40:37
Speaker
Like if your company gives you a presentation or some sort of script to follow,
00:40:42
Speaker
use that as a base and then make it your own.
00:40:45
Speaker
And then you start to find out what works and then be authentic, be real with people.
00:40:50
Speaker
Like people, people love it when you're real with them.
00:40:53
Speaker
They can tell if you're being fake.
00:40:54
Speaker
So never do that.
00:40:56
Speaker
Just try to be, try to find your own genuine self and find your own thing that works for you specifically in whatever industry, you know, whichever,
00:41:04
Speaker
area of life that you're working on right now for sure yep and so yeah simple as that guys and that's why we're doing the podcast is so you can surround yourself with guys like brandon with guys that are dominating and guys that give you the road map to success so brandon before we let you go here where can guys connect with you i know you're up posting a lot on instagram it's cool to see your success there and i know you're posting advice and all that too where can guys follow you and be able to connect with you more
00:41:30
Speaker
Yeah, so my Instagram is Brandon, the number four, and then E-S-T-E-R.
00:41:37
Speaker
So Brandon for Esther.
00:41:41
Speaker
Created that when I was like 16, never used it until a couple years ago.
00:41:44
Speaker
Okay, let's go.
00:41:46
Speaker
So let's get him to a million followers, guys.
00:41:47
Speaker
There you go.
00:41:48
Speaker
Go shoot him a follow.
00:41:49
Speaker
And yeah, you'll get to see what he's doing.
00:41:51
Speaker
Pretty crazy knocking out there.
00:41:53
Speaker
Yeah.
00:41:54
Speaker
late at night and stuff too.
00:41:55
Speaker
Yeah, it's a good time.
00:41:57
Speaker
So Brandon, thanks again for coming on the show.
00:42:00
Speaker
And guys, go shoot him a follow, shoot him a message, let him know you appreciated him coming on the show today.
00:42:05
Speaker
Show him some love and follow his roadmap, simple as that.
00:42:08
Speaker
We can't wait to see what's next for you, Brandon.
00:42:11
Speaker
Thanks again for coming on the show with us today.
00:42:13
Speaker
Yeah, awesome to be here.
00:42:14
Speaker
You guys are, you're all studs.
00:42:16
Speaker
You're going to crush it this year and hit me up anytime.
00:42:19
Speaker
I'd love to provide more value and give back where I can.
00:42:22
Speaker
Let's go.
00:42:22
Speaker
Appreciate it, Brandon.
00:42:24
Speaker
Okay, I'll talk soon, guys.
