Think Fresh: but Your appetite comes back. Mitch McConnell comes back. And so does Think Fresh. That's right. You thought you could get rid of us, but we came crawling back. Crawling back. We are unkillable. a couple of

Think Fresh: Cockroaches. God damn it. Like a couple of rats just scurrying from underneath the toaster at Subway. ah Dude, we shouldve it would have been pretty cool to see a rat tonight. I thought we were going to. I felt like it too. But I think the lights in there were so bright.

Think Fresh: that it just like killed them with some radiation or something. Yeah, kind of like ah like the black or blue light that like disinfects a place at a macro scale. It's the way they keep the bacteria off those like meats. Did you notice none of the meats were... so We went to Subway right before this episode. Did you notice none of the meats were...

Think Fresh: Sweaty? Like, they all looked really... like padded dry the ham was glistening In like a wet way? Wet way. Wet way. Wet way. Wet way. Wet way. Sure, sure, sure.

Think Fresh: Oh, good. i thought they looked look dry Everything looked dry to me. Um, It didn't look try to me, but like, that's a good thing. You don't want it to be dry. You see the breast? The breast was bone dry. You were looking at the breasts? Gee. ah You caught me looking? yeah Yeah, dude. But only because it was an an anomaly. It was that so tasty white. It was super dry.

Think Fresh: Sorry, we're getting... be used to this again i didn't mean to cut you off but it's okay did you look at the breasts before or after the artist showed you her hog oh my god more on that soon ah how you been eric it's been a minute oh dude It's been great.

Think Fresh: Life's been busy, you know. Bye -bye. I don't know if this was clear before, but we have different jobs now. J1s, not this job. That's right. This this will always be J2+. Eric and I's working relationship has often dictated the schedule of this podcast.

Think Fresh: And when it changes. our whole life falls apart that's right It was really easy to record this. during workout we're hanging out together all the time when we're together literally every minute of the day and we're never together anymore and it's a tragedy of life So we have to.

Think Fresh: come together to continue to feed the breadheads, feed the streets. and continue this project. that's right this project will not die no unkillable yeah Scary, scary, scary.

Think Fresh: So anyways, we're at Subway. um I thought it would be a great idea for us to revisit the way. Because we haven't actually gone together in... Probably a year. Dude, I've been subway sober, sub sober. Yeah. In.

Think Fresh: For about five or six months. It's pretty impressive. that is Pretty wild. It might be the longest stretch of my entire life. Because I think about... After school games. or Uh,

Think Fresh: going through college trying to grab dinner yeah doing this podcast with you like every phase of my life has had a subway visit at least Once every month or two, at least. Yeah, I know. A half a year stretch? That's crazy.

Think Fresh: It is crazy. But... it I think it's a good thing do Would you say you've had more McDonald's in the last seven months than Subway's? Likely. Have you? Well, I'm trying to think like. I went with you to McDonald's. Yeah. The OVO meal. The OVO meal, which is a few episodes ago, ironically. Yeah. And.

Think Fresh: Since then I don't think I've been to McDonald's but also haven't been to Subway Like if I've probably been. most recently at a McDonald's. I did. try to order McDonald's on Uber Eats.

Think Fresh: Oh. Two nights ago? 48 hours ago. It was a disaster. Dude. We're recording this on a Thursday. So you were on The Uber Eats app on a Tuesday ordering McDonald's. Yeah, I had a bit of a bender out with some guys and at.

Think Fresh: maybe like 11 p .m someone else throws the idea out there to like Get some Donnie's delivered, you know? Some Donnie's. So I'm like, macca's I was kind of like.

Think Fresh: You can make do it or make don't. And I say, let's make do it. And. So we got we got the order in. 30 minutes go by. not even it's not even picked up The driver is a no -go. 30 more. So we reorder it, you know, round two. Oh, it's a really canceled. We canceled it. We're like, no, nothing's happening here.

Think Fresh: And there's no show. 30 more minutes go by. No one's picking up the second order. So my McVeggies are stacking up. They're probably getting cold. So third try. It finally goes through correctly. Driver shows up, throws this the bag.

Think Fresh: But by then it was like one 30 in the morning. I had to spend like an hour and a half waiting for that. Oh dude. So you you better believe the McFlurry was like pretty melted. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. So.

Think Fresh: So did you actually receive the food? I did. I i got to eat it. Wow. And at that point, you don't even want it. You really hate eating it. you know I just want to go to bed. yeah Dude, that's that brings me back to when I ordered Subway on DoorDash. like years ago.

Think Fresh: during the pandemic it was like when we started this fucking podcast i wrote it to fucking be delivered. and it took like an hour and a half and i was so angry and then i opened the sandwich up And it was like. a slopping mess it was so gross dude like the bread was just like liquified yucky yucky uh dude this is the challenge with all ordering online you have to show up irl if you want the freshest fast food So.

Think Fresh: Have you been dining with Dawn recently? are you Is trumping or is McDonald's slumping? It's slumping, dude. I have not touched fast food. I don't even know what I've been eating.

Think Fresh: Um, For lunch, I get sushi all the time. You're eating a lot of sushi right now. A lot of sushi. Yeah, a little fresh fish. ah ah There's a nice little sandwich spot by my work.

Think Fresh: Where? um They. make everything with focaccia. Hmm. Yeah, it's nice. and um They have a meatless Monday special. Really? It's just the bread?

Think Fresh: No, it's just no meat. Okay. So I bring all my meatless friends there. That sounds delightful. yeah Veggie delightful. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think this week they had a cauliflower melt.

Think Fresh: it's It's like they they go. idiot Yeah, they actually like make nice warm sandwiches. It's interesting because when I hear focaccia as the base, I immediately assume they're not putting much between that bread. Because that's already a pretty thick bite. And the focaccia carries a lot of flavor. So you can kind of get away with like a little pesto. Yeah. Thin layer of salami. You're absolutely correct.

Think Fresh: um I think they might make it in house time they arocata I would hope so. um Even Subway makes their branded house. it's not that hard They have subway has perfected it, you know It comes in that little long tube of dough. And then it.

Think Fresh: I guess becomes a loaf after that. you know It's like a caterpillar to a butterfly miracle of life, you know? Yeah. But anyways, they make their bread and. it's not too thick it's like perfectly sized.

Think Fresh: For a nice midday snack. okay cool yeah i'm into that yeah My favorite there. Probably the chicken parm sandwich. damn that would be your favorite yeah that would be so good it sounds like something i've made at subway yeah i think so or something you've always tried to recreate and never quite found yeah that's right you know that's right But yeah, dude.

Think Fresh: If you're in the area for lunch, we should go there. um And hang out. Yeah, I would love that. I've been like denying myself proper lunch because I've been like hanging out at home most days. so what how often happens is you combine lunch with breakfast.

Think Fresh: So you're like eating like. a The lunch, I guess you could call it. yeah there there might be a better word for it but i can't think of it i think it doesn't come to mind Uh,

Think Fresh: And then you start, like, you do blunch so many times, you start to think, like... Maybe I should just like invent some lunch meal. So today I like. made Like.

Think Fresh: scrambled eggs and then put it in a taco you know blunch kind of sounds like belch And it sounds like something you're doing after that. Hell yeah. ah Tasted great, though. It's pretty fun to be like.

Think Fresh: Like breakfast sandwich, you know? That's a classic in my house right now. That's a classic brunch item. That's a great brunch. Like a bagel sandwich. Like not too many fixings. Cream cheese. Bagel for breakfast. Sandwich for lunch.

Think Fresh: Ty, you won't guess what I had for lunch today. There's no fucking way. and you And you won't even guess what it's called. Uh... It's it's in the blunch firmly in the Blunch territory. Interesting. Yeah.

Think Fresh: By that I just mean it has eggs. Was it... Uh, egg. Salad sandwich? Nope. Was it? Poached eggs on toast? Nope.

Think Fresh: Maybe a... uh Oh, was it fried rice? Oh. That sounds really good, but no. i gotta think more creatively was it like um less creative like a like a a ramen bowl with like a poached egg That is really a good guess because it is like a That's kind of like a toeing the line between lunch and blunch. Or an end dinner. Was it an egg roll?

Think Fresh: Uh... I was rolling on the floor after, but no. Was it a Nippon Omelette? Oh, nice. Um, No, we used to go to a similar place every Friday.

Think Fresh: Prior to COVID. You went to a diner? Yeah. And you got a... Oh. um It's not that interesting. is French toast? Yeah, that's part of that. It was a breakfast plate with French toast on it. Okay, sure. You got a breakfast platter.

Think Fresh: I guess so. It was called The Big Ass Breakfast. Oh, that sounds. Pretty pretty good. And I just told the waitress, I'll have the bab. and She's like, huh? What do you mean the bath? No one's ever said that. I was like, come on, give me the bab. Where's the bath? bye by bae bah by bye ah It's funny that like ever since Denny's.

Think Fresh: branded the Grand Slam. every single diner has to like they can't just call it like breakfast That's already the the label of the section on the menu. So they can't use that, but it's just breakfast. Yeah. Yeah.

Think Fresh: well dude this place was like a weird blast from the past It was the Templeton Diner. You ever go there? No, I've never been there. It's on Granville. and It's like. The building's from like 1906.

Think Fresh: And it was a diner since 1936. whoa, yeah, so they had like these jukeboxes at every table. From the 50s and they claim that they're original And...

Think Fresh: uh they had this like mural on the back that's like from the 60s as well they're like oh yeah this was discovered when we renovated it And it's like original. That's really cool. yeah You'll find many places with history around here. it's usually a diner yeah and you know it's real because the clientele there is also old Like they were born when this place was popping off, you know?

Think Fresh: Yeah. Yeah. And they're like, they've been coming there every other day yeah for once a week. for Yeah. Four decades. But I find it so funny to be a regular at a diner. Or to, like, pop in at, like, 2 or whatever. Because, like.

Think Fresh: It's like if you're having a hard day, you're not going to a diner being like, I need a cold glass of milk or something, you know? like It's too wholesome. You need you need to like. flex a vice a little bit right exactly you need to go to like a strip club Yeah, or like a neighborhood pub. you know ah little cheeky midday pint so the diner like appeals to the elderly because i think It's consistent.

Think Fresh: There's booths and... uh prices are low yeah the booths are good for the hemorrhoids for sure yeah totally if you got no ass cushion left on your cheeks like they got a little extra for you yeah exactly and they put I think the diners always print.

Think Fresh: the fonts on the menu a little bit bigger than other restaurants yeah yeah like type 18 point you know yeah Yeah, and they got a nice cursive. Design as well, you know So it's like back in the day, everyone used to write like that. Not the Sancerre bullshit. And there is something really satisfying about the laminated paper. Because.

Think Fresh: if you have parkinson's or like you're just like you don't have strong grip strength You can kind of hold the whole menu up. You don't have to like do any dexterous actions to fold the paper gently to keep the menu firm. Mm hmm. Totally. Yeah, it's like.

Think Fresh: kids and elderly appreciate that you know yeah it's like big grippy things they love big grippy things Yeah, dude. so Yeah, I should check it out. i'm pretty diner pill lately because really Yeah, it's just like... kind of wholesome and I'm just like.

Think Fresh: You just like eat your way around the city for too long and you just kind of want to record. return to the tenants after a bit, you know? Yes, dude, I agree. Just like I just want like a sloppy bowl of beans and.

Think Fresh: Scrambled eggs.

Think Fresh: and today was like also kind of the first shit day in like recent months? you know very cold and wet and windy and leaves are falling so you know You're stepping on dog shit that's covered in leaves. Stuff like that.

Think Fresh: So. It's nice to kind of just like tuck into a. diner with like turquoise colored walls you know I went to this diner. In San Francisco. a few months ago.

Think Fresh: I'm just trying to remember the name of it but it's one of those old diners are like have. They were built 100 years ago and they haven't left. And this is one of those ones, too, is like.

Think Fresh: Over in the Tenderloin. area Oh god. um no but it was cool it was cool uh what the hell would that place have been called Oh, here it is. ah It was called...

Think Fresh: Pinecrest diner and if listeners have been to San Francisco, this is kind of like an institution on in sf because it's like right in hoda city it's open 24 hours it's been around for 100 years um Hasn't changed a little bit at all. And the Wikipedia page is really funny because if you like look up Pinecrest Diner online, it's got a pretty standard page. And then it's like.

Think Fresh: One section is just... What? And I'll just say like. list of like murders that have happened here. Wow. and i think that's just what happens when you've been around the block for a minute you know yeah if you've got four walls it's only a matter of time until there's a murder inside of you yeah dude popular all night diner this is a wikipedia style restaurant in san francisco california Notorious for a murder over an order of eggs.

Think Fresh: Whoa. Yeah. You know what Ty? That reminds me, I... Could have got to Blaston today at the diner. Yeah, dude, you asked for the eggs. over easy and it came back sunny side up i did ask for it over easy how'd you know you're an over easy guy pretty easy going um no i asked for a strawberry milkshake and they brought me chocolate How much dairy have you drank today? Oh my God, you're right. Because you had chocolate milk at Subway.

Think Fresh: oh fucking hell the chocolate milkshake and i just ate ice cream with you eric's like you want some ice cream dear dude do you need a I shouldn't tell you how to do it

Think Fresh: Yeah. I'm a little worried about you. Why? That's like a lot of dairy. Well, I'm trying to Dairy Max, you know. Yeah, but you're going to be farty. I don't really get farty from dairy. Really? No, because like...

Think Fresh: I don't know. I'm probably built up over the years of. Micro milk maxing. Right. I guess. Yeah. Have you been micro milking milk mewing? Yeah. I've been micro milking my whole lifetime.

Think Fresh: Well, like I feel like lactose intolerance is a spectrum. every Everyone is a bit intolerant. but how much you tolerate it. it's a variable it's not black or white you sound like my grandma right now dude white talking about tolerance It's like, no, I don't hate them. I just don't tolerate them. In my neighborhood. Not in my milkshake. yeah um But yeah, dude.

Think Fresh: Dude milk is milk is great, bro I love milk. Old milk. Seriously, milk's got protein. It's like. fills you up. It's kind of like.

Think Fresh: Like a Shirley Temple Guinness. Whoa. When you say it like that. Makes sense. Right? It's just a non -alcoholic Guinness. It's everything about a Guinness without the alcohol. yeah like an ice cold glass of white white white Dude, it's great. like Okay, next time you're in a sauna.

Think Fresh: Or like... any anything where you're like sweating a lot and it's hot have a glass of milk after It's just like. fucking revives you it's amazing it's kind of like just a little freaky to hit the milk raw like that he's got to mix it with a little espresso or Ah. Banana. I agree with that, but also playing is great.

Think Fresh: Well, I'll take it for a spin. I have been buying milk again. I've been drinking a lot of milk too, if I'm being totally honest. Regular? Yeah. Because I've been latte maxing at home. i've been in my barista era frothing it up in the kitchen for me and bae a couple times a day Yeah. You're fully worked from home. So you got to innovate in the coffee department again. You got to think about it because you got, you're not out. So you're not near any fourth ways establishment. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. um

Think Fresh: So i've been doing that and it's really increased my milk consumption but I'm bringing home a couple cartons a week, dude. I can see it in your biceps. Really? Oh shit. This guy's drinking milk you just tell the guy's got like a glow to his skin yeah there's a few pimples too but if you're like purely on like almond milk you're not gonna have that same complexion you're gonna look like the chicken breast of subway yeah you're gonna be translucent yeah really dry Not Dewey. You want to be Dewey.

Think Fresh: Do it from the dairy. Um, Anyways, they brought me a chocolate milkshake And I wasn't going to say nothing, but. My coworkers were like, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Think Fresh: You asked for fucking strawberry. ah It's crazy that you like ordered a like even lamer drink than a chocolate milkshake. Yeah. yeah'm non blast because they brought you the wrong Yeah.

Think Fresh: Yeah, fuck So did they write that wrong? Yeah, they did and the saddest part about it was they took the milkshake away And then. Should they just set it on the counter in the back?

Think Fresh: and they just like looked at it for a second and then they just like turned it upside down in the sink I was like, oh, fuck. What a waste. Yeah. cause That one would have been good, too. Yeah. It had a nice little chocolate drizzle on it. It's one of those things where maybe you didn't even have a preference.

Think Fresh: And now that you just kind of want whatever they bring to you. Well, yeah, I wasn't even going to say anything. I was like, oh, that looks pretty good. I'll just drink this. In some restaurants, you pay extra for the. kitchen to tell you what to eat.

Think Fresh: you're so right so it's kind of crazy whenever people send things back in that regard yeah like that's a gift from the kitchen yeah maybe this was just the chef's special you know Nah, you don't want that. The omakases. If I never go out for dinner like in a European city, that'll happen. Where you try to order and they say, no, you don't. like No, you're an idiot. Shut the fuck up. that I'll bring you good stuff. Dude, that it gets me so hard. Yeah, I love that. It starts like just salivating. Dude, when when the even if it's just a server. And she's just like.

Think Fresh: Like, no. we don't fucking listen to you people here you know yeah usually like that's a lot of cheese yeah that's probably too much cheese why not a salad yeah yeah yeah No, but they love their cheese there That's true. they yeah They see me and they know a cheese lover just walked in the door. Dairy daddy. Yeah, dude.

Think Fresh: I was actually just explaining to someone at work how The blue cheese. Gelato flavor at Casa gelato here in Vancouver is actually not That fucked up if you think about it.

Think Fresh: Can you walk me through your logic? Well, nearly. if you ask for like Like on the menu, there's cheese for dessert. or in France too. And usually there's like a blue on there, like a Gorgonzola.

Think Fresh: God forbid there's a gorgonzola on the fucking menu. yeah I mean, come on. Let a man have his cheese. yeah And they just fucking... give you this ice cold cheese on a plate.

Think Fresh: It's so good. i do I love a cheese for dessert. It's so good. Yeah, I'm not really a sweets guy. Yeah. I would never order um a milkshake at a restaurant. We're in the basement. and Someone's flushing a toilet upstairs. ah So when.

Think Fresh: Cheese becomes an option. That's like the seat. Every savory lover just wants to eat cheese all the time. yeah like My favorite dessert would be a bag of potato chips. Or like an extra order of fries, you know? Oh.

Think Fresh: It's like, no, bring me some fries. I'll skip the chocolate lava cake. That's a great idea. Dude, if... If we owned a restaurant? we would have fries as a dessert maybe that's the next venture for think fresh is like we'll call we're calling them sandwiches too we've thought about it a long time and we think We think we can iterate on the format. Sandwich is the sequel you mean? Yeah, exactly. My challenges again.

Think Fresh: I mean, Subway's trying to iterate on the format. They're still selling the sub dog. And that's clearly not landing. Definitely not landing. and let's circle back to the hog comment i made earlier we were at subway and Like.

Think Fresh: We were kind of like hovering around the door. Cause we were like, do we get the dog or not before we got to decide before you walk in. it's like you gotta touch the logo on the top of the door it's like so you gotta touch the sub dog before you go up walk in which is what you did it's like going in a frat you know youre there's like a ritual yeah i saw you tickle the poster i don't know why i did that but you did it um And...

Think Fresh: i think you have to decide prior to walking in if you're gonna want the dog or not If the dog's in you. Because... I don't think I could like resist the temptation if I'm unsure.

Think Fresh: yeah because you're gonna opt into the dog yeah if i wasn't like stern about it. I would probably just be like yeah, fuck it. Give me this hot dog And like taking dog, that's just like kind of how consent works, you know, where it's like if you're not explicit about it, it's implied. Yeah, yeah, yeah. yeah I'm sorry for that one. Oh, no, you're you're right about that.

Think Fresh: Um, so We knew early we didn't want the dog. But. Our curiosity got the best of us. It's true. And so we asked the sandwich artist.

Think Fresh: Can we just see the hot dogs like can you just show us what they look like? And these motherfuckers were gargantuan, dude. She like goes in the back and grabs a like bucket out of... the... deep The big fridge, the human fridge.

Think Fresh: yeah Why aren't they on display? I don't know. I think it's because they're just... they're too menacing they're kind of perverse looking dude yeah you think you know what a foot long hot dog looks like you don't they're huge they're so big yeah and we've all had a foot long dog at like the stadium or whatever No, dude these things have girth too they were so thick and like outside of the context of the bun They're so freaky looking. yeah But that would put you in the hospital if you.

Think Fresh: We're in a different line of work. and like they're so long that there wasn't even So they're sitting in like the. There's two sizes of buckets at Subway. You've got the smaller buckets for the niche ingredients, like your banana peppers, and then you have a larger double, like ah a double, two -siders, right? Yeah, the queen you got the queen size bed.

Think Fresh: You only got the single. This is like the California king for the lettuce, you know, like the big buckies. Oh, yeah. uh the dogs are in the big bucky But they're so long. Did you notice this? They didn't even fit. They like wiggled a little bit because they were like pushed in there. And then on both sides, they like lipped up on the sides. Yeah, it looked like a half pipe. like It was like just.

Think Fresh: Yeah, curled up on both ends. And it like kind of just like added to the like grotesqueness of it in a way. It like looked like a giant worm just kind of like living in this tank. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, it was so weird. And and the way she like pulled them out. Like.

Think Fresh: Pulled out the bucket I mean. It was like she was showing us her like weird snake pet or something. yeah as I felt like I just like got to see her like terrarium. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was insane. Absolutely disturbing, dude.

Think Fresh: she kept the lid on too you could like see it too i just like don't tap the glass kind of situation yeah yeah whoa A fed hot dog is a dead hot dog. So I'm so glad we didn't order them. That's a lot of food.

Think Fresh: Honestly, I probably would have just walked out like if if you started making that I would have said I'm sorry I actually changed my mind I value my health too much. yeah Yeah. And do you do you think it goes in a regular bun?

Think Fresh: Like what is the bread situation? I think it's just got to be white bread. although but the same length and size as a sandwich because like that thing is Might be too big for that. it's It's peeking out both ends for sure.

Think Fresh: which you kind of wanted to like aesthetically that's what you want your dog to look like if it's like tucked inside and you have a single like a bread bite at the beginning that's not that's not fun Do you think you can get a double meat?

Think Fresh: Hot dog there. you want Just fucking double double down on the dog. You want to lay two pipe in that? Yeah. yeah Imagine. Oh, i I can imagine it. uh that It literally looked like a double -barreled shotgun.

Think Fresh: Yeah. That's crazy. So. In theory. What toppings are you putting on that? Well, this is what was kind of disappointing here right is. I didn't see ketchup on the menu. And I've always wanted to put ketchup in a Subway sandwich. I think that seems so fun. That's so twisted, dude. Right?

Think Fresh: No ketchup on the menu. I don't know what I would do beyond that. I guess like mustard, obviously. uh

Think Fresh: Pickles pickles are good Yeah. I would probably try to go like... Stadium dog. Stadium style. Sorry, let me wind it back. I'm going... Like Red Truck mode.

Think Fresh: You know, where the red truck has like a lot of different Dog types. So you're going to like take it. to like a like re into some like regional fair you know like i'm gonna yeah i'm gonna go chicago chicago style yeah or like this is a bit more like i'm a mexican player yeah because chicago they don't do ketchup on hot dogs right they just go mustard only that's a good point some Banana peppers. Yeah.

Think Fresh: Red onion? Do they rent onion? I'll do some onion, yeah. I don't know. if Traditionally they would do it, but... I'll do it. you Working with what you got here. Yeah, exactly. There's some fried onions too. I was going to say the fried onions seems like a natural move. A little crunchy on there. It finally makes sense. yeah it does So the onions were just a long play. They were like, we're going to have a dog next year. So we got to get this in now. yeah Shredis? No, sorry. um Shredded cheese. Freeze.

Think Fresh: Yes, that's the way. Shed us. Well, you could do. If you're toasting it. Are they toasting it? i don't I don't know. they can bust They got to heat up the wieners somehow. Yeah.

Think Fresh: I think if you're toasting it, you can do a sliced cheese inside. like They're just making it like a sandwich, basically. That's true, but there's something nice about it being kind of like melted over the wiener. You can still do that. Picking a blanket? Have you never had a slice of... American cheese in a hot dog.

Think Fresh: Oh yeah, of course. because they're always present at the barbecue yeah the whether there's burger patties there or not There's like... A Kraft single just floating around.

Think Fresh: Just asking can to jump in some buns. Yeah. Yeah. Would it be better or worse? If the hot dogs were individually wrapped like the cheese. Honestly better. Yeah, like I think so. It was just like loosey goosey. Yeah trapped in that bucket. I'm never going to forget that.

Think Fresh: I'm going to think about that for the rest of my life. Yeah, I think so too Fucking hell, dude. That was gross. You know how like ah like a Slim Jim is wrapped at 7 -Eleven? I wish it was like that. I wish I had to peel it. I was picturing like the hot dogs at like Safeway or something, but like just one. Yeah.

Think Fresh: So I guess basically the Slim Jim, but the Slim Jim does have a quick access option. Yeah, it's a little peel and a pop. It's a peel and a pop, you know? I don't know. what I think like I just expected them.

Think Fresh: wieners to be like pre already like steamed and sitting in like a warm bucket. And the fact that they were just like sitting on a shelf. like a like a trench closet yeah like a snake was the best way to describe it just like sitting in its tank Yeah. Super weird. Super weird.

Think Fresh: They don't advertise it enough. They're also darker than I thought they would be. like They had like a richer color. What does that mean, Ty? Maybe it's just because they were bigger. um Yeah, which, why did you...

Think Fresh: Feel intimidated by it. the color or likeness We were killing time waiting for the sandwich artists to prioritize all the mobile orders. Oh, that was such bullshit. That's bullshit. We're right there. like We...

Think Fresh: <unk> you're making a sandwich for nobody there's nobody here well dude did you clock the fucking guy in front of us What was he doing? he was giving her like such precise instructions i did tell hear him say like can you please cut on that like on that seed Or like...

Think Fresh: He like specified exactly the cut line based on like the texture of the bread. Yeah. I think I know what's really going on there. Oh, God. Okay. so I think he Um.

Think Fresh: He was trying to play it off like his wife was being a bitch mm -hmm He did mention her a couple times. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's like, sorry if I was a fucking bitch.

Think Fresh: No, he was like. he was like oh only put cheese on one half i'm so sorry my wife's a fucking weird bitch he kept saying that yeah and then i did clock that i was like thinking like why would she want Half cheese. And then. Now I'm realizing he was just embarrassed because he's sharing the footlong with her.

Think Fresh: Oh my god, you're right. Like who gets two different sandwiches in one? So he... Wasn't man enough to get his own foot. Yeah. And you tell me this guy's not eating? Like, come on.

Think Fresh: You're just getting food for your wife only. I don't think they sent maybe some people are like weird about buying things maybe he thought he wasn't allowed like you'd have to get two separate six inches and that would be oh they would scold him yeah but if you get one foot long And they're like. change the ingredients for everything you save some money there right yeah that's that's a great point yeah but he probably like didn't want to get caught with that even though they probably don't care Yeah, and he kept blaming his bitch wife.

Think Fresh: It's crazy. move That is so wild, dude. I bet he doesn't even have a life or maybe. He just wanted to call her a bitch really badly. Yeah. He's like, my wife is making me save $2. making this as one sandwich yeah Wow.

Think Fresh: i don't know what he got but i know he got like some ingredients on one half and different ingredients on the other and they were different sizes which implies you know male female right 60 40 split yeah that's how i would divide a ah sandwich with my own wife yeah i agree um but yeah so we're waiting for this guy to like over he was like definitely like micromanaging the sandwich artist.

Think Fresh: So we had time to kill. So I was. Spending more time with the meats than I normally do. And I got to really know their color palette, which is... Off -white. And so when those dogs, those hogs came out.

Think Fresh: Came out looking cooked, looking at deep dark. just caught me off guard it was like oh they got a lot more like A lot more color in them than I expected. I've seen the sun. yes Yeah.

Think Fresh: Yeah, I mean, there's also some bins up front that are covered completely and we thought they were living in there first but They weren't. And we don't know what's in there. like I'm sure there's some of them are meatballs, but like So there's a lot of them that were just covered up. We don't know what's in there they I guess they're just like making space for future future offerings maybe.

Think Fresh: Mm hmm. But it is kind of weird that like... It's like that in every subway that's been like that for years where there's a meatball bucket in the the hot zone. Yeah. And then there's three or four empty bins.

Think Fresh: Yeah. Maybe that's where they store the soup. I've never ordered the soup, so I don't know. They've always sell soup for some reason. ah The lip curling soup. I guess like soup and sandwich is a pretty standard combo.

Think Fresh: Elsewhere. Yeah. but i never had a ever in my life had a subway sandwich and thought this needs to soup It'd be kind of cool to like... Dip them. bread in it if you if you got a normal amount of sauces I think like when you go to Subway enough, you kind of start to realize you need to sauce it up. And then you like.

Think Fresh: Once you have like three, four. Five. Six, seven sauces on it. You don't really want to dunk that. It's already drenched. Yeah. But...

Think Fresh: As we know, the toppings on at Subway are just too loose. the dip. As soon as it touches anything, it's... Half your sandwich is falling out. Yeah. And you don't want like. shredded lettuce in soup. No, this is why I never get the beef dip. Like.

Think Fresh: I feel like a beef dip is like kind of a cool move. Like only cool people get the beef dip, you know, but I never felt like I was cool enough to do it You have to have a lot of conviction to get the beef dip You have to know what you want. you have to know that

Think Fresh: you know how you have to know you can pull it off you're like i'm signing up to do twice as much eating here you know it's like when you wear your leather pants you know that's like the beef dip equivalent of fashion damn this is the first pods post leather pants day so brenda doesn't even know oh wow uh We'll talk about that maybe next episode.

Think Fresh: Aww. It's a PLP, post -leather pants. Whoa, Eric's still rocking theleather in the Whoa, dude, they're genuine. Are they? Yeah, man. Are they Marcella?

Think Fresh: No, they're from a thrift shop. oh so They were like $50. Cool. Well, they look great on you. Thanks.

Think Fresh: dude support your boys who wear leather pants you know check in on them actually yeah every male fashion decision is a cry for help let's just talk about it we went to the yeet concert went eric and i went to a yeet concert we couldn't sorry brad has we couldn't record because we went We were moshing at you.

Think Fresh: Such a funny show. Yeah. We went with friend of the show. Patrick. Um, From the Now Defunct podcast. What was this thing called? How original. oh right right ah So, Eric. Pat and I were the oldest people at this concert.

Think Fresh: And he runs with the jobs. I think most, most employed, which is saying a lot for us. Wow. Yeah, yeah. No kidding. One single family income. but ah So three unks hanging out at the Yeet show.

Think Fresh: Maybe also like the sweatiest guys there. Probably. I was really hot. It was so hot. I was so hot I had to take off my shirt. Yeah, we all took our shirts off, which is really funny to move to do around a bunch of teenagers. Especially when half the teenagers are like 6 '5". Why is everyone so fucking tall there? They're all ripped and tall.

Think Fresh: Well groomed. Yeah. Actually, it's probably the broccoli hair, dude. I think that adds two inches. That's true. That's why you guys do it. hey Yeah. you Who's you guys? You know what I'm talking about. No. ah So we watched the show Eric and I moshed most of the show it was really fun. Yeah, to just like push teenagers over It's really funny to like be the menace at one of those like usually you're kind of like intimidated because you're like oh i don't know i could get hurt in this mosh pit but

Think Fresh: I was like a 30 plus year old. You're like, oh, I'm the danger. Yeah. You know, I'm the one who knocks. There's no one here with like enough weight to throw themselves on me. Yeah. Everyone just would just bounce off of us. And they're all like really scrawny.

Think Fresh: It's so true even like the toughest looking The high schooler. Was like. Dude. What, 85 pounds wet? Yeah, basically. he was wet probably he was wet wet there so it's this big sloppy marshy That was so funny. ah It was great. He's a great performer.

Think Fresh: he's a great performer although It's really hard to connect with that kind of music. Everyone else's vibe, you know, I was just like, this is silly. so I didn't think it was silly. italy I didn't think it was silly at all, dude. I took it seriously. You took it seriously? Yeah.

Think Fresh: Yeah. Well I'm glad. Every time he had to ring the yeet bell, I got chills. The hair on the back of your neck almost stood up. Yeah. Yeah.

Think Fresh: Wow, I mean it's really fun to observe because you're like This is like... Life. defining music for this group of people. you know That's what's interesting about it. The crowd was so passionate about it. Yeah.

Think Fresh: And it's like. You always remember the music you listen to when you're like 17 like that that just comes with you for the rest of your life yeah you carry it for sure and like we were there with a bunch of 17 year olds and we were thinking about while i was thinking about like wow they're gonna remember this for the rest of their lives and i'm just gonna go back to work tomorrow you know totally like this is their the shins yeah this is their woodstock dude

Think Fresh: So. it is kind of special because you go in a crowd like that and Yeah, the passion for of the fans. and They're gonna like get a yeet lyric as a tattoo in a couple of years when they're Parents are will let them, you know? yeah their kid's gonna have the name with like two dots above their their middle initial they're messing with some novel characters for sure Uh -huh.

Think Fresh: it's just like That's kind of fun. It is super fun, dude. like yeah It's just fun to like. be there for someone's big day, you know? And, like, it was their big day. and This is like going to.

Think Fresh: be their personality for like the rest of their lives you know they're like dad what did you do when you were my age you're like oh fuck dude i was watching at the heat show crazy So sick. this is the best part about going to concerts uh you just get especially ones when you're not the core demographic. Yeah. You can just like.

Think Fresh: participate in a subculture yeah but Totally. This year I've gone to like. this has been like a great year for me for shows I've gone to more shows this year than I have most years of my life dude I know I'm like shocked at how many you've gone to like every time we talk you're like oh I'm going to this show now Yeah, I mean, I've just been kind of bumming around town the last couple months, and there's been a lot of facts coming through. so Trying to soak it in. and that My favorite ones are the ones I go to where I don't really.

Think Fresh: know the music that well or connect with the yeah cultural territory that the music is a part of. and You just kind of learn a little bit about things. I love that, dude. That's actually pretty inspiring. yeah yeah it's Same reason to like. Go to like, uh...

Think Fresh: an ethnic restaurant. Yeah. You're like, I don't have to be Indian to eat here. No, but they're always really excited when you walk in. Yeah. like Whoa. yeah has arrived What are you doing here? but It was a problem. Yeah.

Think Fresh: But you know what? Um, Fuck, what was I gonna say? I forgot. Something about we're like. Inspired by subculture. Yes, subculture. We should go subculture. culture. I love that dude. um We should go do a...

Think Fresh: goth show yeah we should I want to meet a goth mommy, dude. Would you paint up for it? Hell no. No, I'd wear my leather pants, though. Yeah, that's fair. But you'd like keep your natural complexion.

Think Fresh: Yeah. I'm not going to blackface it. What are you talking about? I think they like to whiteface it. oh Black eye it, maybe. They go Michael Jackson mode. Yeah. seee ah I would do. I would do some eyeliner if you want to do with i would yellow for you with some eyeliner.

Think Fresh: I want to go to like, like. a entry -level goth show though i don't want to go too deep into it i want to like no marilyn manson for you i mean that's probably the most accessible to be honest Yeah. In 2026. Yeah. Like if they sell like. merch for it at Hot Topic. It's probably not like...

Think Fresh: It's probably the right. Yeah. like grade of go goth is a spectrum but like manson as a celebrity is accessible but like As an artist? I don't think so. I've never really. I don't.

Think Fresh: The only time I've ever listened to him say it. any words into a microphone was at like the donda concert live stream otherwise i've never heard him open his mouth yeah same i don't think it's very good No, I doubt it. um Yeah.

Think Fresh: But I do want to go to a show where it's like. The subculture is like so strong Like. even like a punk rock show would be really cool. Like seeing. people you know do their fucking mohawks and shit would be kind of fun you know properly mosh yeah Like leather jackets with like the sleeves cut off Yeah, and they, like, patch it themselves. Yeah.

Think Fresh: Yeah. With all the like, I don't know. What they do. Gangs they're a part of. political affiliations yeah National parks they visited. whatever they do yeah i don't know and i don't go to those types of shows yeah I'd be really interested to go into one. um But all the good punk bands are gone. You know?

Think Fresh: yeah you're gonna get it like it's all derivative now right yeah like if you go to like uh Ramones show. Now. It'll just be like a bunch of geriatric dudes. That's one of the challenges with. those types of genres that they literally just get aged out you know yeah it's old dudes playing old dudes yeah and That.

Think Fresh: is a demographic, but it's just not one you wanna be a part of. you know you want to be You want to follow the youth in the zeitgeist. That's true. He was the new punk. Yeah, it really is. Like even like I went to an LCD sound system show.

Think Fresh: uh this summer And the crowd there was like. middle -aged hipsters that were still like participating in hipster dome You got the skinny jeans, you got the tats, you got like.

Think Fresh: the short sleeve collared shirts that have fun patterns. you know everyone's got plugs they got like the weird haircut that's like shaved down in some places and not others yeah And you're just like, damn, this was like.

Think Fresh: a vibe that. just like stuck. stuck to this music. And they didn't age out of it. They just stayed there. Mm hmm. Yeah. and i feel like that's just like not as interesting to be a part of you know i guess you just want to be a part of the emergency scene you just yeah you just want to be part of the like where the youth is because that's the most important You don't want to be around people your age. No, you want to go to daisy chain and hang out with the girlies. Yeah, exactly.

Think Fresh: Yeah, I 100 % agree. Alright. rightstein Well... That was a nice episode. We're we're so back. We are so bad. It'll probably be another five months to the next episode. I'm out of town next week, so maybe the week after. oh Okay, cool. Cool.

Think Fresh: I mean, yeah, I don't think it'll happen even then. So that's fine. Um, Yeah, we have to... Bring maybe I should just keep the mics Like on me, I think it's the right call because we see each other pretty often like decently enough yeah We'll just have to check the concealed carry laws for that kind of stuff. Yeah. So what are you doing with that? Wait, you pack a two? Yeah. Oh, up to no good. Yeah.

Think Fresh: uh that's probably the best option is just to like have that shit on you at all times yeah Yeah. happen at any moment well you know what It's always in my backpack. Oh. and That means I have with me everywhere. I go because you're like always on call at your tech company. Yeah. Well yeah i take my backpack to work obviously but i also like when we play tennis i bring my backpack so it's true it's just in there That's true. I'm not emptying it out all the way. That's psycho.

Think Fresh: Maybe that's the trick because I see you more to play tennis than I see you to do anything else. I think that's a nice like if i'm being honest i think it's better maybe like we're actually you know doing something nice otherwise it's just drinking beer and eating ice cream in a basement yeah This rocks. Which I love, by the way. The acoustics down here are great. Yeah.

Think Fresh: it's It's the biggest room in my house. It's the entire basement. So yeah, plenty of space to stretch out and let the mind wander. That's crazy. Well, on that note, I'm gonna wander home. All right. Redheads, thank you for listening.

Think Fresh: Ciao.

Think Fresh: All right, I have to turn it off. You got to turn it off.
