Speaker: This is food! This is beans! one
Speaker: All right, Adrian, you're back to your void. You're back, and it's time now to talk about Captain America 4. Captain America!
Speaker: Brave New World. Wah, wah, wah. Incredible. Incredible. Captain Falcon and the and the Bravely Leaves the Nest or whatever that we came up with last time.
Speaker: Captain Falcon Bravely Leaves the Nest. Indeed. All right. Well, this is a review discussion for Captain America Brave New World.
Speaker: And this will be non-spoilers right now. And then on the A Closer Look portion, the the second half of the Closer Look episode, we're going to get into spoilers. But again, we will never spoil anything on the main numbered episodes of Spill Focus, a film and TV podcast.
Speaker: Except for this. But Adrian, no, no, don't do it. no No, no, he's not doing it. He's joking. You don't have to hit pause. don't have to hit pause. Not to worry. But Adrian, Adrian. I guess I'll just ask for your bird's eye, falcon's eye thoughts on this.
Speaker: To start, what ah so what are your falcon's eye view thoughts on Captain America 4?
Speaker: um So, Simon, you know, I think this movie is...
Speaker: Let's start with the good. Let's start with the good. This movie, I think, has... Well, it's they're birds, I thought, so you can... Yeah, there's some good and a lot not good with this movie. Oh, no.
Speaker: i think I think this movie's a little bit of a mess, unfortunately, which I'm bummed about. I'm more... bummed than anything. Like once we left that theater, it wasn't like a visceral hatred for the movie. It wasn't like, this is the worst thing I've ever seen.
Speaker: It was quite literally like, oh man, that kind of sucks, dude. I'm not angry. I'm just disappointed. Quite literally, quite literally. And, and I feel like that, that kind of encapsulates what this movie was.
Speaker: There is some good in it again, which we'll talk about in a little bit more detail, but yeah, I think as a whole, this movie is a miss. And it sucks that it is.
Speaker: Yeah. The movie doesn't suck. It sucks that it isn't great. yeah So I said on episode 103 of our podcast, I said that I was hoping it would be the spark that lights the fire of the MCU's current phase.
Speaker: That going into Thunderbolts and then Fantastic Four especially, that it would like take momentum into the Avengers. And this was not the spark. I will say that. Like it didn't spark anything. It's completely like it's a movie.
Speaker: It kind of feels like the way I felt kind of leaving the movie Wolfman. Yes. Yes. It's like it exists, but I, I, I, why is it, why you waste this potential and the money to build this movie when you could just write it more exactly. Yeah.
Speaker: more in more detail. like You actually understand the political situation of the the countries that are you know talking to each other in the movie and the various... like There's so much going on. and I feel like there's just not enough character development. There's not enough villain character development in particular.
Speaker: it's It's interesting. In terms of good stuff, I will say i i kind of liked Anthony Mackie's Captain America 4's costume. Like I thought his costume looked pretty cool. I liked it. I thought, honestly, ah Harrison Ford looked cool as a Red Hulk. I thought that was pretty cool CG. That was pretty neat.
Speaker: oh Oh, your face is kind of indicating to me that you're like, ah, I could have, it could have been better. But I liked it. I don't know. I thought he was cool. is that I think what was Kenneth Staddlebar was joking around that he was like he's kind of he's just a more jacked version of Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones.
Speaker: Yeah. Just sunburned Indiana june Jones from Temple of Doom. ah Doom, sorry. um But yeah. I don't know. ah yeah Anything else you want to to say to just to complete your, again, your high-level thoughts before we move into some more detail, some more non-spoiler detail? Yeah, like, I i think, yeah, like like you mentioned, I think, you know, Sam Anthony Mackie's, like, costume's really good.
Speaker: um i will say, like, I really liked the addition of Joaquin Torres, ah which played by Danny Ramirez. He's, like, the new Falcon shown in the trailer. I really... He was in...
Speaker: Captain Falcon and the Winter Guy, right? I don't remember him. He must have been, maybe, but I don't remember him. And by Captain Falcon and the Winter Guy, I mean Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the TV series on Disney+. plus Was he? I'm pretty sure.
Speaker: But so that's actually a good point that's being made. So he's introduced in this theoretically or not, but he's not given a lot of backstory And that's kind of another criticism.
Speaker: and weird one Yeah. I guess like, I do like, I think, yeah, he's in, yeah, he's right. Joaquin Torres, the Falcon, and the Winter Soldier. He's in it.
Speaker: Oh, my God. I i don't remember and which is funny because I thought this was his introduction. But i was like, I do really like the relationship between him and Sam. Like, I think they play off well each other. and know Isaiah Bradley. He was in Falcon and the Winter Guy. That much I remember. And I really like his addition into the movie and again, how he plays off of Anthony Mackie. I think.
Speaker: I don't love Anthony Mackie's acting a lot of the time. There's something about him that I just i don't really enjoy. But I think he does a really good job shooting the shit with the people on screen with him. I think he has really good chemistry with the people around him quite consistently.
Speaker: And you know the the relationship between him and and Joaquin and him and Isaiah was was really good. like i love like the So a lot of people complain about Marvel humor.
Speaker: in in everything, whether it's video games, the MCU, just general movies. And then it's always like, Oh my God, he's right behind me. Isn't he? And it was like, did I just do that sort of thing? And I think this movie funnily enough, doesn't have much of that. There's a couple of like those moments, but this movie is, doesn't have that sort of tone in, in the humor aspect.
Speaker: Um, But there is funny moments and it's literally just the characters shooting the shit back and forth with each other. That like made me laugh a few times actually. And I really enjoyed that part of the movie.
Speaker: That's about it.
Speaker: <unk> Here's the thing about that. It's funny that you say that though. I feel like the jokes didn't land often enough. I feel like they fell flat. There's actually big, even dramatic moments that felt like there it's a dramatic line and then it's said and it doesn't feel like it lands. And that's kind of where I think you were saying Anthony Mackie's acting's not good. But I, I don't know if it's Anthony Mackie's fault. Here's the thing I'll say.
Speaker: i rating that I think that Harrison Ford and Giancarlo Esposito could act out the phone book. They could read off the phone book and make it compelling. okay But I don't know that Anthony Mackie necessarily can.
Speaker: I'm not sure, honestly, that Danny Ramirez necessarily can. Maybe not yet. Maybe they can if they have a certain director. I don't know. or certain writing, that's a whole different story. My thing is that I don't think they had a lot of safety nets. don't think there was a lot of trustful situations where the director, Julius Anant, and the writers, Malcolm Spellman, and Rob Edwards, and Julius Anant, I don't think they actually helped them at all.
Speaker: They didn't um did none of the actors any favors. I think Harrison Ford... was very capable the whole time. I think you he sounded good. he I believed him as the president of the United united united States.
Speaker: I believed it. I was cool. And I also, the thing about him is also, that's another thing I believe is that Harrison Ford was playing William Hurt's character of Thaddeus Ross, of course. That's not a spoiler. Of course, that's in the trailer.
Speaker: yeah And Thaddeus Ross becomes the president as it as it is in the trailer. and that And specifically, Harrison Ford, I believed him as William Hurt's Thaddeus Ross. and I think that's really cool.
Speaker: That's awesome. I believe that. But the problem is is that the writing, there's it's just it doesn't feel specific enough. and because I felt like the jokes were falling flat in the...
Speaker: The drama dramatic scenes didn't really work. There's a moment where you laugh during a dramatic scene between Anthony Mackie's character and Harrison Ford's. And I was like, yeah yeah, because it's just cheesy because they don't sound like real people. they don't These people don't talk like normal human beings.
Speaker: And the plot's too convoluted for no reason. And they don't character development. there They're villains enough. It's kind of like a movie that's going through the motions of an MCU. Like, we're an MCU movie. Let's yeah do it. Let's make a ton of money. I don't know what, that's not the point though. And the crazy thing going, sorry, I'm going to. It's like, I agree with that. Like it, it like it, but I feel like it's, it tries to be an MCU movie in like all all the wrong ways. And yeah, like the movie is very fast paced.
Speaker: It's high paced all throughout, but in a very bad way, I feel like things are consistently happening. but not because of what happened before. It's because the writers were like, oh, and then this happens.
Speaker: Yeah, that's a good point. yeah Yeah. The scenes kind of move quickly, but they they also move quickly and then they they have this weird pacing issue where they jump to the next scene and then they they feel like there's like moments of calm between two characters and then they don't feel that calm. They feel like they're just trying to move on to the next scene. It's weird.
Speaker: and I can't quite describe it. But yeah, I can see that. Yeah. Yeah. I couldn't put my finger on it either. But yeah, it was very much like – I feel like it was like the writers being like, oh, man. um Yeah. So Captain America, he like shows up in the White House and then explosions happen. and and then and and then And then they do this and then they do that. But it's not like, oh, the characters react this way because of what happened previously. And I feel like that was just – It's constant in the two hour runtime of the movie. And i it almost felt like this movie, similar to The Wolfman, funnily enough, like they cut out context.
Speaker: Like, did they cut the shit out of this movie and and and you know kind of break it apart in a weird way? But and it also kind of felt too long times. Yeah. Yeah. How do you do both?
Speaker: I don't know. It's so weird. And like, I want to say that it's like, oh no, they cut it, cut it to shreds. And that is the issue. But they, they did. They're the guys that did Captain Falcon and the winter guy.
Speaker: And that show was not good. was not good. So Julius Anoff, to be, to be fair, didn't do that. But Marcus Spellman wrote, captain falcon in the winter dude and that show is reviewed well but if you look at marcus spellman's rotten tomato scores generally they're not good and julius anna has a good movie in loose but then he's also got cloverfield paradox which he also directed yeah was a good movie The thing is, is that here's the thing I have ah trouble with. I'm confused by it. It just seems like i Kevin Feige and his team don't seem to be vetting these creators as much as they were or something else.
Speaker: They used to like be on this crazy hot streak of getting people like James Gunn, who really hadn't done anything else, but he did these cult classic movies that people loved. And they got him to do Guardians of yeah of the Galaxy as an example.
Speaker: And then they have like Peyton Reed come and do Ant-Man. He made movies like I Love You, Man. No, not I Love You, Man. No, that's not him. um Peyton Reed. No, he did the movie with Jim Carrey where the guy's singing and with the guitar and he's trying to... Yes, man.
Speaker: Right? okay That's Peyton Reed. Am I wrong? I don't know, man. My internet's slow. I'm clicking it in. I'm pretty sure it's Yes Man. Yeah, he directed Yes Man, which is a hit, in my opinion. I think that was a good movie. ah Did you see Yes Man? Or the fucking Russo brothers that literally did Arrested Development and Community prior to coming right and doing Captain America, the Winter Soldier.
Speaker: So the interesting thing about this is mar Marcus Spelman hasn't really had a good track record. But Julius Anant, like for stuff that we've seen that are blockbusters, right? not Not maybe he's done really cool projects going through school or something. i don't know.
Speaker: But Julius Anant, he made serious movies from what I'm seeing. I don't see any comedy. The Russo brothers with their comedy chops, Joss Whedon has certain – he's actually got a similar style when his in his works before that, before he got Avengers.
Speaker: in things like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly and the and like he had a hand in making. Yeah. ah No. Alias. Joss Whedon did Alias. I swear to God with Jennifer Garner.
Speaker: Wait, ah a but that would mean that he worked with JJ Abrams on that. Alias Joss Whedon. Am I mixing that up? Because it's only it's JJ.
Speaker: It's JJ Abrams, right? Oh, yeah. i feel You're right. Maybe I'm maybe I'm wrong. Regardless of that. But the point is, is that they have these track records. They're smaller projects, largely. Obviously, J.J.' 's huge but for Alias. But Joss Whedon wasn't big.
Speaker: um Peyton Reed wasn't that big. Russo Brothers weren't that big. Kenneth Branagh was okay. He did Thor. I thought the first Thor movie was pretty solid. It was a solid movie. Jon Favreau did a few things before that, but his biggest hit probably was Iron Man as a director.
Speaker: And so again, this is like they have this like they have these special ways of finding this talent that would just really kick off these movies. And they these directors somehow come in with like a confidence that's clear.
Speaker: And they create this like very reliable script. And even if they don't have it, they are able to kind of rewrite it. I think like Peyton Reed, I imagine Ant-Man was somewhat improvised, like probably like throughout, um which is cool.
Speaker: But yeah, like it's, it's, I just feel like that's missing. The confidence is missing. I feel like there's a lack of confidence in the making of Captain America for like, it feels like these guys are like, we know how the formula works and they're following the formula. Like they followed a manual on how to make a movie. It's, it's a piece of art. Like you, you can't follow the manual. You got to make it with like feeling and passion. And it feels like there's no passion.
Speaker: If that, that's the way I feel like it's it's just like made like a, like a chair, like you're, you're building a table or something. You're like, You're like, you're a hammer. You're making Ikea furniture. you're just following the instructions. Like, that's not going to work.
Speaker: I don't know. It didn't. see it doesn't look fun to make. That's what I'll say for the actors. Like, the it just seems like it's like, yeah, they're making an MCU movie. And that's that's it. that's it It's not the worst movie I've ever seen. Certainly. It's not even a bad movie. it's just not a good movie.
Speaker: And that's the kind of the problem. And that's not what I expect. And I know people always razz on the MCU. They look at it and say, oh, it's, you know, it's the MCU. MCU is just superhero movies. It's like, no, the advantage of the MCU is you can tell these very, like ah a variety of diverse stories in a genre, which is like the superhero genre.
Speaker: And you can tell very, very different stories. Ant-Man's a comedy, like through and through. Guardians the Galaxy is like a misfit teen movie, like almost like road movie in a weird way. Like, there's, there's, there's variety. Winter Soldier, obviously Captain America. catholic america Yeah. Winter Soldier is a spy movie. Espionage.
Speaker: Exactly. And this movie in some ways is trying to be that actually just doing a bad imitation. Yes, very much so, which I want to dive into a little bit more in spoilers because there are like specific scenes where I'm like, Oh my God. Like I think these guys were like, Oh, we can do this.
Speaker: We can do Captain America, the winter soldier and maybe do it better. We can do Captain America Civil War, like parts of Civil War and do it better. And it's like, oh my God, you guys cannot. You guys are way in over your head.
Speaker: And I just think this movie kind of falls on its face because of that. And i I feel like ah ah you said this as soon as the movie ended. And I think you said like, wow, like this is just – Wasted potential, I think is the the phrase you used.
Speaker: And i could not agree with that more because I feel like this movie has a, it's funny. I said the the same thing about Wolfman. has a lot of really good ideas.
Speaker: The idea yeah a Captain America without the super soldier serum is so cool. And you could do this really well, but this movie is so poorly executed on that idea. And the issue is, is that they focus on it.
Speaker: in the writing they focus on but then they do i should have taken that super soldier or serum sort of thing again like it's it's a plot point they talk about it that sam doesn't get too much into that because i don't want to dive too much into the spoilers but yeah i agree with you that's a plot point in the other in the show yeah it's a plot point in captain falcon in the winter guy too and they just don't and they kind of just if you look at the trailer you can see they kind of do the opposite of what that actually entails.
Speaker: What does it mean to not have the super si soldier serum is the question that needs to be asked. The what if question. And they don't really answer it. they they just They just keep quiet asking the question.
Speaker: They ask it over and over and over again, but they never want to answer. Actually, that ah leads me to something that talk about, actually. And I want to talk about this when we talk about severance, probably on ah on a Closer Look episode. But severance has this tendency of asking the questions, the tough questions of the writer's room.
Speaker: The question, of course, severance is about people who have their minds split, where they go to work and they're one person and they go to home and they're another person. The work-life balance literally split in their mind. But they ask the tough questions of what that would mean scientifically. What would it mean emotionally? What would it mean in a person-to-person interaction? What would it mean going home to your wife? What would it mean if you had a relationship at work? What would it mean? There's like ask every question about what if you actually severance did exist and they try to answer that.
Speaker: they may They live in the reality of their world, the confines of what their universe entails. This movie doesn't do that at all. And it just doesn't seem to understand what the MCU is. This is the thing I've talked about 100 times.
Speaker: I think some writers go – I don't know if they're in they just in general in Hollywood or not. But it feels like they go into a writer's room and they write ah like a plot. And they're just like – they make ridiculous things happen. And then somebody questions them on it. And they're like, well, what does it matter? This guy – the Thor can fly.
Speaker: It's like, no, you created the physics of your universe. You need to follow it. And we're going to get into that with spoilers. That's for sure. Because that's the worst, worst shit I've ever heard of. It's just badly written. And it's just lazy. It's lazy is yeah is the is the long and short of it. I'm so disappointed.
Speaker: Me too, man. it's It's funny. Again, I haven't watched... um I haven't watched the skeleton crew like from star Wars, but you, you, you said that it's a show written by kids for kids.
Speaker: Like that's how it kind of feels like. And I feel like this movie was written by kids for adults. And like, that's, that's not really, what I would say it is by kids for kids. Cause there's kids in it as a stars. I feel like it is written by adults to be fair. They're just, they're tailoring it for kids and the kids are in it and there's such a large part of it. That's why it's for kids. Yeah.
Speaker: And but then this is the opposite of that. Yeah. It's like, oh, we oh that wouldn' don't you think that this would be cool? It's like, it it feels like elementary school writing or high school writing. Like, oh, this would be cool if we did this.
Speaker: Yeah. on On that, but on a positive note, I want to emphasize this because you said a really good point earlier is you said that this movie has really good ideas. And I completely agree with that sentiment.
Speaker: Like that's something that, was there a fly?
Speaker: Oh, no. You looked up in the eye in the air. It's like a mosquito or something. I thought I heard water dripping because I had like a... Oh, no, that would be bad....water issue problem, but I realized it's just the the like the faux leather on my chair rubbing against my desk, and it made it sound like water dropping.
Speaker: Oh, okay. That's good. so What the fuck is that? Thank God. Thank God it's not water dripping. That would be a bad first week. Oh, but... ah I can get into that real quick I know we're talking about cab. No, i won't. go upve that'll We'll talk about that. You can do it. Do whatever you want. Okay. So yeah, like, so I was having a furnace issue in my in my house, which is obviously like the most expensive thing. And I realized, yeah and like we like obviously snowed a bunch, bad weather. So there was like a snow dam, I guess, created.
Speaker: Yeah. on my roof in my back. sweat And water was seeping in to the house because of that dripping down. Cause I guess the condensation or whatever. Right. So we had water, like a leak in the basement. were Like, Oh my fuck, dude, we just moved in the house.
Speaker: The furnace is running. It's like blowing air but it's like blowing cold air. and I'm like, what is happening? and I'm looking online, looking at all this stuff. And we noticed this yesterday, the pipe was even like starting to freeze. i'm like, this could be catastrophic.
Speaker: And we have a Nest smart learning thermostat. Oh, thought you were talking about like a bird's nest. Oh, no. We have a bird's nest. It's like it's cold. Yeah, the Falcon Nest. We're bringing it back. We're we're going back into the movie, the Nest, Falcon's Nest. No, it's like the Nest learning thermostat. And it was plugged into the wall.
Speaker: Factory reset, reset it up. And there's like wiring, right? That you have to like, yeah when you're setting it up, it's like, what wires is it plugging into? Right. And there's the wires written on the wall where I plugged in.
Speaker: And when I set it up, the wires that I connected, it says like, oh, can't detect these two wires. So, but that's what it showed on the wall where I plugged it in. So the the thermostat thought we had a electric furnace with heat pump.
Speaker: Oh, that's. So it was running my AC unit. Oh, while running my furnace. Oh no. So it's like condensation build up, whatever. And then I like was, I was like, what is happening? Something is seriously wrong.
Speaker: So I had to like look at the nest thermostat, readjust it. Cause in the settings, I couldn't do anything on the nest up. I'm like, what the fuck's happening? Everything online is you can just change it. So i had to reset that thermostat.
Speaker: And then it finally acknowledged that we had a gas furnace. Okay. And then could turn off my HVAC fan and, So we we already have a little bit of like water that dripped into the crawl space and stuff. It wasn't like catastrophic.
Speaker: Yeah. But um it fixed the issue. Thank God. Yeah, I know. Flooding issue is not great. food But yeah, sorry. i'm Sorry to take you. What I was saying there before I was rudely interrupted by that fly flying around your head was the skeleton, the bones of the movie are great.
Speaker: Like there's actually some really cool ideas. Like just overall, even MCU connected ideas, the way that they use the overarching MCU storyline. i was like, oh, so cool. i um I think I might have made an audible gasp. like, oh, neat.
Speaker: like when they when they went that direction they went in terms of connecting captain america 4 into the mcu the greater mcu marvel cinematic universe and so that was like wow that's stuff yeah i was like that's really cool i'm really excited to see where this goes and then it's just not executed well at all so that that's that's the moral of the story could it have been better heck yes oh my god and what the hell is going on with the shield physics that's another like oh oh dude I guess i guess we can say – Come on.
Speaker: Yeah, like the the fight choreography was pretty ah okay. Oh, it's good if you just ah go in with blinders on. Like if you just watch the fight scenes separately on TikTok, no no problem. They're they're great. like oh that's cool. You know what I mean? Like Kenneth Stadtebauer, when we left the the theater because we saw it with Ken, um when he we left the theater, when we were leaving the theater, he said, the fight scenes were great though, right?
Speaker: and The choreography was good. And I was like – they It was, but it was it doesn't make sense in the confines of the universe that they're living in. So I can't like it. That's the problem with it. It ruins it for me. It reminds me watching Companion. It's like, part of that movie was ruined for me because of the the plot holes. And that was kind of the issue. Despite the oozing, the the ooze of style that Companion has, it couldn't be as good as it could have been because they just there's some so many oversights continually for no reason, in my opinion.
Speaker: Just this is like oversights. These are deeper oversights. I feel like they're worse than companion. And that's why my score of this is going to be worse than companion as well. Yeah. But, ah but yeah, yeah. Anyway, i we can just get back to get or get into the spoiler if you want.
Speaker: Are you ready? I'm down. Yeah. time. Spoiler time. I love how at least, at least 10% of this non-spoiler part of the episode was definitely you talking about your furnace.
Speaker: Yeah. But anyway,
Speaker: moving on, we're going to go into spoilers starting now, audience. So if you don't want to Captain America 4, Captain America, Brave New World, spoiled for you.
Speaker: Now's the time to jump ship and not watch this particular section. Section. Cool. All right.
Speaker: Adrian. We'll just, we'll just dive right into it. What the fuck is going on? It's so the, the, the movie, it slams it down your throat. It's like, Sam's like, Oh, I shouldn't have taken that super soldier serum. Bucky shows up and he's like, Oh no, youre you're captain America because, uh, not because of the serum, because you're you, Sam, you're you. Now I got to leave and go do a Thunderbolts.
Speaker: I gotta, I gotta go do the Thunderbolts movie. I gotta leave. ah I'm not going to help you with any of this. And, and Sam's like, yeah, maybe I should have taken that, that super soldier serum, but you know what? It's me. It's me, but it doesn't matter because the difference between him taking it or not is I don't know what it is. I guess he doesn't have the super strength, but he fucking does, dude.
Speaker: The only difference is he gets stabbed a few times and he's like bleeding, but he survives. Yeah. He's okay. It's like, Totally. He got stabbed in like the chest. And then yeah the in in the rib, he's like, oh, i broke my ribs.
Speaker: But it's like, fine. He's like, fine. He's like yeah, i broke my ribs. And he's like, like twice in the movie. But like apart from that, it's not acknowledged. This guy is fucking, i think this is early in the movie and he's like flying down. and He's like I'm doing supersonic speeds.
Speaker: Lands on the ground. He's diving into the ground. He's a terminal velocity and he lands with superhero landing. Yeah. His legs are broken. Sorry. Dude, not only is his fucking brains would have shot at his asshole, dude. It was so fast.
Speaker: Everything would have splattered on the ground. And he even acknowledges it. He's like, wait for it. And then boom, this the sonic wave blasts back and knocks the people over. And it's like, you dude, dude.
Speaker: What? The thing about that is that we watched the trailer and that's in the trailer and it bothered me so much when I saw the trailer. That was the biggest problem with the trailer for Captain America Brave New World is I thought it was so ridiculous. There's also a scene in the movie where he cuts through a freaking jet fighter plane with the Wakandan Falcon.
Speaker: wings wing and there's no way he wouldn't have been pulled with the jeff fight fighter or his freaking shoulder would have been pulled off it yeah doesn't make any sense how fast those jeff fighter planes move is so absurd it just doesn't it doesn't add up at all he would be dead and like the answer that i'm sure they would give us would be like well he's got like oh he's got uh i was gonna say adamantium and we're gonna get to that in a second but he's got vibranium He's got vibranium Wakanda technology in his suit. It's like, but he's just wearing fabric and his legs. So if he landed like that the sonic boom, he would be dead.
Speaker: There's just no way they just, they don't want it. Again, there's a problem in the MCU lately. I've said this before. They just don't seem to care about the power metrics.
Speaker: where are It's important, in my opinion, Kevin Feige should have a chart ah basically of everyone who's more powerful than someone else. thorn Thor and Hulk are at the top, and then you kind of make your way down.
Speaker: Red Hulk cannot fight Captain America, regular Cap, like normal, the the normal the original Captain America, Steve Rogers. So he can't fight Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson's Captain America.
Speaker: You just can't fight that Captain America. It's not possible. The problem is the they kind of gutted themselves in their own plot line. You mentioned this just just earlier. they don't seem to ah They acknowledge the fact that he he needs super serum, but then they never use that in the plot.
Speaker: They just keep showing him like being literally invincible. The crazy thing is like he's doing that training section with Isaiah Bradley, and he does that flip, and then he gets like a ah stomach cramp.
Speaker: Yeah. you You remember that? i think You got injured there, but you just got stabbed by Giancarlo Esposito later on. I don't think that was a stomach cramp. I think that was him like acknowledging the injury that he had before.
Speaker: Oh, from the big guy that he fought? Yeah, I think that was my broken rib. And that was the one time acknowledged his broken No, he didn't broken rib until the end. No, he got the broken rib at the start with the big guy. He's fighting with the broken rib the whole time? There's no way.
Speaker: He's a human being. There's no way. know there's no way. That's the issue with this movie. my God. I didn't know that. I didn't know that at all. Because it's the first fight with the big guy. And he's like, oh, I heard your rib break there. They don't get it. They just don't get it. It's like, I don't need the super serum.
Speaker: Like you have the super serum. You're more powerful than Cap. I'll give you another crazy example if you remember this. In Winter Soldier, after the elevator sequence, Cap jumps out of a window, but he's not actually that high up. He's pretty high up, but he he gets great his fall gets broken by a window, like another like glass canopy. yeah Yeah. And then he lands and he has trouble getting up there.
Speaker: Yeah. He has trouble getting up. Friggin Sam Wilson gets knocked across the friggin parking lot. where The parking lot where apparently Thaddeus Ross walks with his daughter.
Speaker: And he goes he goes flying because his wing has like some kind of supercharged Wakanda fever juice in it and it blows up and it shoots the Hulk and human being without super serum across the parking lot.
Speaker: He lands with rocks, giant rocks on top of him. And he's just fine. No helmet. His helmet is ripped off already. It's gone. He's fine though. He's just perfectly fine. Why would he be, why would he have a problem? And then at the end of the fight, he's just only that, not only that, when, when he's getting knocked under, the under the rock, everyone that was miles, kilometers across town are just there.
Speaker: They just show up. Right. We're just here now. they Dude, they fucking flew. The Hulk jumped literally the entirety of Guelph over. Right. And then he like gets knocked under the rocks and they're like, Sam, are you okay under these huge cinder blocks under this huge, under this asphalt that just just crushed you? Are you all right? And I'm fine. I i should have taken that damn super soldier serum. That's, he literally says that line. I'm like, that's funny.
Speaker: But, It doesn't fucking matter, man. You're super powered. It's crazy. and Sorry, continue. the The end of the fight. It's crazy. in that so at the end of the fight, he goes to see Joaquim in the hospital. And he just walks there. And he just seems fine.
Speaker: yeah He's just like, I'm okay. i got to go somewhere. It's like, at the end of Winter Soldier, Cap was in the hospital, wasn't he? I think so. and That rings a bell. He almost drowns, remember?
Speaker: Bucky saves his life. Yeah. I don't know. It's crazy. It's like well the guy with Super serial Soldier Serum is less powerful than him. I also give ah draw attention to the very beginning of Winter Soldier.
Speaker: look On your left, right? Who is saying who iss he saying on your left to? Sam. Sam Wilson. Correct. He's too slow. who is he Who is Sam running after in the very beginning of this movie?
Speaker: And he's just keeping up with him because he barely run or ran away. A super soldier by the name of, i can't remember his name. Isaiah Bradley. Sorry. yeah Yeah. He's running after him and he's not very far behind.
Speaker: He's just seems fine. Although Isaiah jumps through the window, he takes the stairs. I thought, although I was like, oh, that's a nice little nod to the fact that doesn't have a super serum, but he caught up to him in like seconds. There was no problem. Everyone caught him.
Speaker: Like when Cap and when Black Panther are are running, remember they're running down the highway faster than cars driving 100 miles an hour. How crazy was that scene in Civil War? That awesome. Like even Black Panther is a super soldier, but he also has freaking...
Speaker: He's got super soldier serum and he's got vibranium. Sam Wilson can't stand – he wouldn't be able to stand against anybody. he the The problem is – I don't know. I had this problem from the beginning. He just needs a super soldier serum or you need to acknowledge that he doesn't have it like Batman.
Speaker: have to actually acknowledge it for real. Don't pretend that he doesn't. Play up intellect or something. But the issue is is that they they didn't – that's not one of his character traits. He's not like the most smart guy around.
Speaker: He's not supposed to be. Yeah. where where I think that's interesting what they're doing. it's It's funny because we made parallels. like This movie is quite literally – They're like, oh, we're going to do the Winter Soldier again.
Speaker: They literally have a Falcon. They add a new Black Widow type character into this. Right. Which is like, excuse me, like what? And they literally do the Black Widow hallway fight scene.
Speaker: where they like see her and she shows up and just beats up those guys. And they do the scene with Nick Fury in the road where winter soldier explodes his car. Right. And he's driving it and like a gun.
Speaker: And they do the exact same thing just with Cap, like with, with, with Sam as, as Cap. But the the thing with this one is like his Falcon is actually like, he's a smart guy. Like that they're playing up Joaquin as like a really smart dude. He knows tech. He knows how to hack things, all of that.
Speaker: So like, yeah. His character, I guess, will have a little bit more depth, but man, it's it's crazy to me how much this movie wanted to be the Winter Soldier. And I'm honestly sick of people being like, oh, it's the next Winter Soldier. It's totally like Winter Soldier. It's like, you're not going to reach those heights.
Speaker: Why are you doing scenes from that movie worse? Just do something different though. You can do something different and then make it good. Like you don't need to do the same thing. It's confusing though. Like I don't understand.
Speaker: don't know. just don't. The super soldier standard serum thing just bothers the hell out of me, I guess. I don't know. I just don't know why this. So it's just so lazily written. or written um it's It's very annoying.
Speaker: Yeah. Bucky showing up thing was such a waste of time too. Why even bother with that? What a joke. go like oh is this your Here I am. oh you need help? Oh no, I can't help you. I got to go. I got to do the Thunderbolts. for got to do the Thunderbolts Asterix movie.
Speaker: Same. I got to do it. Yeah, it's ridiculous. And even, again, I was talking how they take some things from Civil War as well. um So Joaquin Torres, like his character, the Falcon, he's like, I'm going to go after this this rocket or whatever. And then he explodes and falls into the water and it almost dies.
Speaker: And I'm like, yeah okay, so you're doing the roadie thing.
Speaker: from from Civil War. Like, the same sort of premise where Rhodey gets kind of shot down and, like, hurts himself or whatever. And it's like, I know it's not identical, but it's still just like, you're just taking bits from these previous movies and these Well, that every movie. I mean, that wasn't that unoriginal. Yeah.
Speaker: I mean, it's it's it is but because it happens in a lot of movies. But yeah, I see that part. Yeah. I just i think like i think the comparison to Cap would be to Batman, theoretically. like it's just Batman is a genius who plans to go at and out at night. He's got all this super tech and he knows how to use it.
Speaker: And Captain America has got a super soldier serum. and he He does things on ah on a and a perspective of being... like not righteous, but he he's very, he's, he knows who what he is and he's got conviction and he does the thing, but he's got the super soldier serum as well. He doesn't have the tech aspect.
Speaker: So they're different characters in that way. They're kind of playing Falcon up to be the Batman in a weird way, but he doesn't go out at night where he's got an advantage and he doesn't use any smarts to fight his enemies. He just has, he's just way stronger than Batman.
Speaker: Yeah. yeah But we don't know why because there's no reason for him to be that well trained. I want to point out again, he can't throw – why can he throw the shield that well? It doesn't make any sense. He's throwing it at people and it's bouncing in a way that it would never bounce.
Speaker: An interesting thing was people were really upset in Avengers Age of Ultron because in Age of Ultron, they added a a retractor. Do you remember that for for Steve Rogers' shield? I love that. That was cool. It was cool, but people didn't like it because it didn't feel comics accurate. But Joss Whedon, he was careful about the power metrics. He knew that he had to create a realistic reason why the shield could be retracted so easily.
Speaker: But and then people didn't like that and they liked the idea of being able to deflect it. But the truth is the super soldier serum gives you those reflexes. It gives you the ability to understand where things would bounce so you could catch it again.
Speaker: He just, I know human being could do that. There's just no way anyone, I just pick an Olympic athlete in the world right now. No one can do that. I know that obviously vibranium has specific factors that make it bounce in a specific way.
Speaker: It's not magnetically attached to you. It's not a boomerang. It's just not going to work like that. It just doesn't and it won't. And if you could figure that out, that's kind of physics, you are a genius. And again, with aura, you have so super reflexes, which he doesn't have.
Speaker: And so that is... the biggest Yeah, my my curiosity and and why I think they maybe cut some stuff out in the movie or context. The only thing I can think of is – so Falcon has his little robot birds that help him out.
Speaker: And there's a scene where I think like he's being shot at and and the Falcon birds – like he's like – birds are like holding the shield and blocking the bullets form as he's running. I'm like, that's a really cool scene.
Speaker: So like my mentality is like, maybe those birds are connected to the shield and they're, they're the ones moving the shield. But again, it's never acknowledged. That's the only way I can rationalize as to how that is occurring.
Speaker: Literally the only way, because it makes absolutely no sense. This guy's like shooting the shield, throwing the shield better than cap ever did. and But the Red Wing doesn't attach to the shield when he's throwing it. And then the hallway scene is an example. He throws it and they bounces off. Or when they're about to get into the truck and they're leaving that army base, they they're leaving the secrets of facility. they're they're They're leaving and he bounces it off two guys and it comes somehow back to him. And then he leaves. It's like, that's not, there's no way that would happen. Like he,
Speaker: His physics of the shield, his use of the shield is way, again, way better than the cap has ever done. i think like I keep saying cap. That's disrespectful. He is cap. There was a stupid IGN article that said, like, is Sam Wilson's Captain in America the real cat the the the long-term Captain America? It's like, yes. what What are you talking about? Yeah, we we know that already. but What a stupid clickbait article is that? It really bothered me when I saw that. I was like, that's so dumb.
Speaker: but Yeah, i it's kind of a fucking shitter, dude. Just like as a website, real quick aside, like it's unusable on mobile. Literally, you can't even open it. Like you open it on mobile. It's reloading every five seconds. It's a garbage website. And I think they're literally farming clicks at this more point.
Speaker: It's annoying. I will say you talked about before or we talked about together that actually it's connected to the super ser soldier serum thing too. But we talked about how that I feel like the filmmakers didn't have a lot of confidence potentially making this. But I feel like the craziest thing, Sam keeps mentioning the super serum thing.
Speaker: He mentioned that in Captain America, whatever, Captain Falcon, the winter guy, Falcon and the winter soldier. He mentions that like multiple times in that. And the whole idea with it's called – falcon in the winter soldier is that he's coming into his own as captain america he's earning the shield because he feels like he didn't earn it he's doing it again here why is he doing that he's so unconfident in himself he can't put it together with the avengers i feel like he couldn't put a piece of ikea furniture together with confidence he's just he's so unconfident he's so filled with self-doubt he's like the opposite character to steve rogers that's so annoying to me
Speaker: i I was hoping he was going to be in this movie and he was going to be like, this is who I am. I've got conviction. i mean i've got I'm confident. like he's kind of He preaches morality to people, but he doesn't even know who he is himself. and That's so annoying.
Speaker: but You find that like he preaches to people all the time like, don't do that. You should do it this way. This is the way it should work. and then he just doesn't know who he is. He's like, um I decided not to take the super serum literally last episode of this show. But now I'm going to ask the same question 15 times. like Should I have taken it?
Speaker: Should I have taken it? Should I have taken it? Bucky's like, no, you shouldn't take it. He's like, scene later, he's like, I should have taken it. It's like, Jesus Christ, can you decide? Just decide. I don't care. Make one decision or another. It's over already.
Speaker: because But I think that's indicative of, again, the filmmakers. The filmmakers, it's like it's all bleeding into it. They they don't feel confident making a Marvel movie. I don't feel confident watching it.
Speaker: And Anthony Mackie's character, is Sam Wilson, doesn't feel confident being Captain in America. So no it's all lack of confidence all around, guess. 100%. It's literally just – it's funny because I feel like the end of Captain m Falcon and the Winter Guy um where it's literally – he's like talking to the politicians and he's literally just like vague.
Speaker: You got to be better. Just be better. It's literally it. That was the writing. yeah and and It's like this is what I want to tell the filmmakers of this movie and the writers. Like just be better. Write better because you're not doing a good job. like is It's shocking to me. Like even – even things that I think were, were done well, like again, Harrison Ford, like you mentioned, can act the phone book out.
Speaker: I think there was a lot of setup with him re um you know, ah rebuilding his relationship with, the with with Becky or Betty, Betty, sorry, Betty is his daughter.
Speaker: And tyler they like talk about, he's like, yeah, my, my daughter will never want to talk to me, blah, blah, blah, blah. blah And then like, A few scenes later, he like calls her and she answers and they have a brief phone call. I'm like, wait, what the fuck? I'm like, but wasn't the whole thing that he's like, like they literally don't talk and she wants nothing to do with them. Yeah.
Speaker: And now she's willing to answer the phone and talk. And I and i understand that he was in a, ah like a possible life and death situation. So she's like, okay, maybe I'll answer. But it just seems like such a leap. And it's like, maybe we can walk but by the, by the the, the place we used to walk when, when we were back in the day.
Speaker: The cherry blossoms. We're going to go to that parking lot together. it's like, maybe, yeah yeah, maybe we can do that, dad. Sure. And it's like, okay. And then at the end of the movie, they like, he's like, he turns into the red Hulk loses somehow and gets put into the the raft.
Speaker: and And, and Sam shows and is like, you know, we we could have worked together. Things could have been good. I brought your daughter by the way. And she's like hi, Dan. And it's like, what? What? Your father did not prove to you that he was a good guy. Sure, he admitted his faults.
Speaker: To be fair, though, he he admitted his faults and he he he he relinquished his role as yeah the president of the United States, which just takes a big person to do. So I feel like that part...
Speaker: I kind of see it. She's like, oh, yeah, he earned it kind of. Because he did it's not his fault he turned into the hall. There's no buildup to it. I guess it is. There's death. It's just like, oh because he did. Oh, yeah, sure. Again, it's like, it's the end then. It's all surface.
Speaker: It's end then. And it's not like because of this. like I feel like they could have really, like again, funnily enough, this movie, again, felt too long while having literal substance. like you could have played Harrison Ford is such a good actor.
Speaker: yeah You could have played up his role more and had more scenes between him and Betty so like rebuilt trying to rebuild that relationship. and really Instead of having her be a cameo like Bucky was.
Speaker: Why are both of them in the movie at all? I just don't even understand. You got to use them more often if you want to do that. like He should probably try to take his – He should take his like is islamousine a limousine – What do they call that?
Speaker: I was going to say – No, what do they call it? Calicane? No, whatever it is. is with ah My brain's broken. The thing where they they drive up in the president's like um the present row of cars.
Speaker: president The president mobile with secret service. Regardless of that, it would have been like a big impact for her them to roll up to her house and like him try to talk to her and she's he's like she's like, no. Or something like that. Maybe make an emotional depth to it.
Speaker: But they just didn't do any of that emotional depth. They just decided, we're just going to shoehorn this in at the end. like Like two scenes before the end and then at the very end for like potential end credit scene.
Speaker: Just don't get me started on the actual end credit scene. What was the point of that? Because again, i just feel like this is this movie was again, so poorly written. It's a bunch of, and then, and things it's, it's funny because the plot and like shit that's happening, happening is not explained properly.
Speaker: Yet the motivation of characters are literally literally said versus shown on screen. It's like, yeah, we don't see Ross trying to be a better person, really.
Speaker: He just says he is. And it's like because Harrison Ford is a great actor. It's like, I believe him like hell. But it's like, I don't know his motivations. It doesn't seem like he is. And then there's even the scene where he's talking to the leader, ah which we didn't even mention the leader from ah Incredible Hulk is the villain.
Speaker: Yeah, Tim Blake Nelson, who also was completely underutilized. Because I liked Tim Blake Nelson a lot. And I also like Giancarlo Esposito lot. Giancarlo Esposito was criminally underutilized. I know. Criminally.
Speaker: He was great, by the way, in every scene he's in. But the writing's also not good for him, too, because what's the point of him being in it? there's There's just no point of that character being in the movie. It just felt like it was a waste. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. I don't know. And it's just, yeah, it just, it's, it's so funny. And again, like we're going to keep on knocking the writing. The writing is so bad and the leader is supposed to be like one of the smartest people alive, you know, knowing every single statistical possibility of anything that can happen.
Speaker: But it's like, just because you say this guy's smart, if you're written by dumb people, this character is a dumb fucking character. Like there's literally a line where like Sam is like, oh my God, they're doing this stuff. And it's like, how's he doing it? And Sam literally says, it's a mind control thing.
Speaker: There's mind, people are mind controls. They got brainwaves. It's mind control. And it's like, that's the explanation. i'm like, what? I literally was sitting there and being like, you gotta to be fucking kidding me, dude. They're like going to the leader's area where where Harrison Ford, you know General Ross was keeping them and like, oh, there's posters. And oh, man, like he's he's somehow looked into their brain and can play a song and control them.
Speaker: But it's like none of that's explained. None of that has dived into the – why the fuck can the leader do this? really really Really, yeah. The science wasn't explained because they don't have any depth. like the yeah That's the thing. is they yeah We talked about this with Wolfman. You specifically pointed it it out. that There's a certain character that's in in the movie just so that he could be in the movie for plot convenience. There's no other reason for him to be in it. like it's not there's no You won't believe that he's actually a person who lives in that world. He's just a person who lives in that plot timeline so that we can see what happens to him. like That's what happens here. like It's just there's no
Speaker: there's no, it's all surface and no depth all the way through. It's just like, it's kind of like a, I don't know the width, the, the space of an ocean, but the depth of a puddle, you know what I mean?
Speaker: It kind of situation. i don't know. It's crazy. Like i will say this, we've been really razzing on this hard and then spoiler portion of the pot, like this, this a closer look. So here's what I'll say. I want to say that the celestial adamantium thing was really cool. I thought that was really neat as a really cool angle. And that's where we talked about earlier about the skeleton being quite cool and quite neat and that intriguing ideas that just weren't put together properly.
Speaker: The idea of the mind control, actually not a bad idea, but they don't dive into it deep enough that makes it any any any use or or ah good enough. The relationship between Liv Tyler's Betty and Thaddeus Ross, not good because it's like, it's cool. It's good that you're going back to that as you did in the Incredible Hulk. He talked about it there.
Speaker: But can you do it in a deeper way? Like, can you, can you have them actually have a relationship that I can believe in when I'm watching it instead of it just being like two humans talking to each other, like they've never seen each other before, which could have been the case. I'm not sure if Liv Tyler and Harrison Ford ever even met each other before, but I just don't believe any of it. They maybe never even met each other on set, dude.
Speaker: Yeah, it's just – maybe they're not seeing each other. It's this green screen. and She's talking to a a tennis ball and ah on ah on a hook or something. Yeah, maybe. But yeah, like – but I would say like the adamantium thing is so neat. But they there's the international conflict, which I think is really cool too because it kind of ups the stakes from Winter Soldier, which is – Not really an international conflict as much as it is an American one until the end of the movie, I guess. But it's more of an like American conflict with S.H.I.E.L.D.
Speaker: like ah in yeah in Winter Soldier. But this is like an international conflict, which is really neat. But I don't really believe it. like It just feels like the Japanese Prime Minister wouldn't actually – he wouldn't, and by the end of it, just believe Ross. Like, oh, it's fine. Captain America, save the day. Oh, we're good now. Yeah.
Speaker: I don't think that's – I don't believe that's the case. I think this inch so incident would would kind of go down in history and continue being a huge problem. it would be It would be the next world war, literally.
Speaker: Literally. literally its Maybe. American fighter jets started firing on Japanese navely like naval ships, and then Captain America shows up and stops the American ships from doing it, and they're like, oh, okay.
Speaker: Yeah, it's just – yeah. I don't know. and It just doesn't seem realistic. It's like a convoluted plot line, but it's not it's not diving into any of the stuff that is complex, which is is not is just not useful. don't know. It's interesting because there our friend Ken said he liked the movie, but he thinks that like it could have had more depth as ah as a TV show.
Speaker: And I do agree with him yeah if it was different writers because – Again, the the one guy that wrote this movie already did a TV show and that TV show wasn't good. So it's like... But reviewers thought it was okay.
Speaker: That's the thing. like We think it's bad. Yeah. It's crazy. we like we We saw this coming because to to us, that's the same thing with that show. is it It feels like it's kind of useless. It starts in the same spot as it ends and it it kind of feels like, again, the characters don't have a lot of depth.
Speaker: like They just feel... I don't know. There's interesting concepts there too. John Walker is really cool. He has a really neat idea. i love that He's an awesome character. He's the best character yeah in that show. And that's why I'm excited for Thunderbolts Asterix that Bucky's in that that he went to go do in the movie where when he says verbatim, I'm about to go do a Thunderbolts and it leaves.
Speaker: And John Walker's there like in that movie. And I'm excited to see him because he was such a great character in yeah in um Captain Falcon and the Winter Guy.
Speaker: Right. But yeah, I just, again, you said it best, wasted, missed, whatever potential, just like there's so many great opportunities. And the more I think about this movie, the less I like it actually.
Speaker: it's It's one of those for the Wolfman. I'm like, this one just kind of whatever, but like this movie, I think, has a way, way more and way better ideas than Wolfman did, but just does not execute on any of them well.
Speaker: And it just fucking, it flounders. And again, I don't think like personally, I don't like Ant-Man the Wasp Quantum Manium. I think that's like a, like a bad movie. It's the same with Thor, the four Thors with gore. Like, I think those are bad movies, but I almost dislike this movie more than those two because this is just a movie.
Speaker: And it's like, again, i feel like that's arguably the biggest travesty is when a movie is just a movie. Like I can't, I mean, and we had fun talking shit about this. You think Thor Thor four was worse.
Speaker: um I think so. I think Quantumania is a better movie. It had passion. for There's passion in the writing. No, in this movie. Oh. Quantumania and Thor 4 both have like passionate... like they're they're They're comedies as well. They're a different style completely. They're not even... They're obviously in the same realm because they're they're the same genre of superhero movies, but they're such a different style. i um I was much more entertained in both of those movies. like Just even the goats in Thor 4 were more like...
Speaker: more entertaining than a lot of this movie was. i think I saw you were yawning a lot in this movie. I saw you yawning more more than I've ever seen you probably in a movie theater, i was which I thought was interesting too.
Speaker: but It's disappointing. I don't know. i yeah Well, I guess that's it. for our review of Captain America, Brave New World.
Speaker: If you would give it a number score, what's your number I would give 2.5 out think, ooh.
Speaker: i think i think Do I want to be harsh and say two? No, it's a 2.5. It's a 2.5 out of 5 because it's just the movie. It's just there. So this is our first rotten score in Rotten Potatoes.
Speaker: Our new review set, Rotten Potatoes. Rotten to Potatoes. Should I have a little picture of a potato? like Yeah. It would be how many potatoes it is? yeah yeah Yeah. It's a 5 out of 10 potato.
Speaker: It's a 50% rotten potato. 50% rotten potato. Well, actually, it's a zero because we're both rotten. It's a 0% on Rotten Potatoes. We're not doing that. I'm just going to do potatoes in the animation because I don't Okay, yeah, there's just potato potatoes. This is a Rotten Potato movie. Rotten Potato?
Speaker: we have one We have one nice potato and one Rotten Potato. What? Because Companion is a fresh potato. Right, it's a fresh potato, right. And we didn't launch the website when we did Wolfman, so.
Speaker: There's no website. You can retroactively go back and add Wolfman to the Rotten Potato. That would also be another Rotten Potato. Yeah. hit web do we give we were Were we fair here?
Speaker: i don't know if We were so, we razzed on this hard. I wonder if Kenneth's going to watch this. And he's going to be like, you know what? You guys were just really razzing on this movie. It was, this is just like, a ah wage i don't know what the, I'm saying positively again, costume design pretty good.
Speaker: I thought Red Hulk looked good. I know you didn't. I thought that the the choreography was good. I thought that, the skeleton the bones of the story were good but everything in between it the muscles and the the tendons and all the shit that makes up ah a body of work like this it's just that part isn't good and i just i hope marcus spellman doesn't write another mcu movie that feels harsh to say that because it's his career probably like or do i know you know what just get better that that's all i can say like this wasn't good the politicians Like be better Julius Anah has some good stuff under his belt in terms of blockbusters and they, they're cool, but they're just not this style of movie. So I'm like, I just like, they just get better. Like the politicians and Captain America and the Falcon Falcon and the winter fella. Yeah. yeah
Speaker: Right. But yeah, it's just, it's just disappointing. Come on, please. Thunderbolts, please be good. Okay. Yeah. Moving on. Let's, let's move on now, but thank you All right. Well, this has been a closer look.
Speaker: Captain, what was it? Captain Falcon bravely leaves the nest. Yes. My name is Simon Eadie. This is Adrian Pinter. Goodbye. Take care.
