Speaker: Bitch, I'm in the...
Speaker: and sha
Speaker: Hello, everyone. Welcome to Talking Shit. I'm Mark. This camera is really ah going to annoy me today. It's actually doing its job. Moving. um Let's see here. What are we doing this week?
Speaker: i'm I'm not sure. Oh, yes, that's it. um Of course, Brian's still not here. ah He'll be here shortly. Sometime in October.
Speaker: ah Otherwise, um I have a Well, I have a friend of ours that is going to come on. Actually, he's right down there in the corner right there.
Speaker: i don't know if you can see him. His name, going to help me ah with the show tonight. His name is ah Clifton Taylor. Hey, what's up, Mark? I Clifton Taylor sitting in you as Brian tonight.
Speaker: Yeah, you got a little bit, you got the bald head. You got that going. Yep, I got an awfully large forehead, man. That thing goes like way back to here.
Speaker: Yeah, and Brian does too.
Speaker: But um yeah, and thank you for ah joining us and doing this for me and Brian. It's been a you know a hell of ah a summer for us, I can say.
Speaker: Yes, it has. No, it's my pleasure. It's an honor to be here with you, buddy. so Looking forward to it. We've got a great guest tonight. Yes, we do. um We first, ah I first met Mindy when we did the military show.
Speaker: And we're getting getting ready to do another military show in November. But that's in the future. um She was talking and i thought her story was really good that I wanted her to come back on for another shot just one on one or not one on one, but you know, basically where she can tell her story and promote her books and movies and whatever else she wants to promote.
Speaker: So I'm going bring Mindy. I'm going butcher her last name. I know I am. It's Daughtry.
Speaker: Close enough. It was Doherty. Doherty. I always tell people it's like pizza dough and then just add Urti. But people like to chop it and they're like, is it Doherty?
Speaker: I'm like, yeah, sure. It's whatever you want. How you doing, Mindy? I'm pretty good. Just wanted to show everybody these awesome shirts. Make sure you pick up yours.
Speaker: Yeah, we got them on sale. Pick them up. you like you wear this for the and months right now for $25 shipping's included and we only have it's really comfortable too yeah I wear mine and put them and then put it back right on my can unless I go out in public and then I'll wear it nice I like it and it's really comfortable and of course we got a new talking shit hat look at that sweet hat
Speaker: We're still working on that. I put my stickers on my refrigerator. Like literally stuck them on so they didn't come off until the refrigerator's dead.
Speaker: Hello, Amanda. How are you doing?
Speaker: She's our newest mod for moderator for our show. our show Oh, nice.
Speaker: So, like I said, ah we are I first met you ah back in May. It was the first show after my mom had ah passed away. yeah That was the last show in May and June. We didn't do another one until July. And then, of course, Brian's sister accident.
Speaker: odd But like I got said, up during the military show, I thought out you had a story to tell. And I thought that we'd give you a stage to tell it.
Speaker: I really appreciate that right now. The greatest thing that has literally, it's blowing my mind because I, I've been pushing for a lot of things for the military veterans in Oregon.
Speaker: Uh, and I've got a $20 million dollars proposal with the legislator and it's actually got an LC number. that means it's gone to the next stage, which is there's over 3,300 proposals right now. And one is one of them.
Speaker: So my proposal was, i want all the veterans to have this. However, they were like, it'd be over a hundred million dollars. And they're like, that's too much. So I'm like, all right, well, what about if we did only a hundred percent service connected? And that's basically what I wanted.
Speaker: was for the housing taxes to either be deferred completely or mostly deferred because there's a lot of homelessness going on because the tax is going up every year and people are starving literally and with the tax going up and everything going up three times the amount i really wanted to make a difference in my community as i always do anyways but i also wanted to make a bigger difference in the veteran community throughout the united states so my next goal is to get it passed first in Oregon and then just like Texas, I think there's two states, I wanna say Texas and bri Virginia. I know Texas for sure has deferred on housing taxes, but what I want is for the whole United States to go ahead and click in for 100% service connected veterans, which means you gotta be pretty disabled to be 100% service connected and it's really difficult to get, just so people know.
Speaker: Those are mostly for people that have a really difficult time working because of the things that happened to them in the military. So the housing taxes, because they can only make a certain amount, I want to make sure that they don't get, number one, that they don't get technical and kicked out of their house because they can't pay. And also the senior citizens and stuff that are going through Social Security.
Speaker: so they're also helped with as well. So I've been kind of really trying to figure out what else I can do with the community.
Speaker: And I have my children's book, A Dragon's Voice, and it's gone into six different police departments, five different states, so that when kids get picked up for abuse or sex trafficking, and child trafficking, human trafficking, they can give them a book to calm their sensory system down.
Speaker: The book wasn't meant for that reason, but it kind of just, happened to be that way when I was talking to some police officers and talking to my publisher and he's like, that's actually a really good idea. It's basically says, don't steal or take what's not yours, how to create friendships and win-win situation.
Speaker: and What I do has an effect on myself and everybody else around us. And the most important one that I really teach parents about is listen to your intuition. And that's mostly to help prevent abuse and stuff like that. And then my next one,
Speaker: is my autobiography, Resilient Warrior. And that is my autobiography from the age of three till about 2017. And it's made its way into two sex trafficking, family advocacy groups, and Alabama Sex Trafficking and Human Safety Alliance and Children's Alliance. So I'm just trying to get my books out in any, anywhere I can. mean, in a couple of different private schools, public schools, I'm having harder time with.
Speaker: I plan on figuring out how to get it there too. There's a couple of Montessori's who's actually picked them up. I would love to, I'm working on doing the audible version.
Speaker: You asked me for the audio because they don't like reading. like, I don't believe you. So I just bought a microphone. I'm going to figure that part out and then do the audio version for both books.
Speaker: And I'm really still looking for somebody to help me to get the Dragon's voice into animation. And I really, really love to get Resilient Warrior into a movie or even like documentary, documentary film or any kind of like filming portion. And I just got a testimonial from somebody who said that they'll do a video and maybe even write it out. But I just found out that he got that he read my book and it prevented him from commit committing suicide. And that me is huge.
Speaker: My main goal since I was in the military 95 to 99 was preventing suicide attacks and preventing people from committing suicide to themselves. I was a backfield medic in the military and the army from 95 to 99, went to Bosnia, Croatia, and Hungary. And and Unfortunately, I got a parasite and had four organs taken out attends for eight years.
Speaker: very much sucks. It's very painful. It's one of the most painful diseases other than the other one that I have, which is chronic regional pain syndrome. and Now when I got after 2014 events in the San Antonio, Texas VA, when they treated me harshly, was unfortunately tortured for four straight months and was bed down for three years and eight months. So ended up having stem cells put in my spinal cord from Columbia. And that's,
Speaker: like my saving grace, you know, between that and the PRP that I just got last year in my shoulder, I'm a highly advocate for stem cells and I'm hoping that they come to the United States, like the real kind of stem cells that bioxcellerator offers.
Speaker: And then I've been in a couple films, I've been doing modeling and stuff like that, just got into my third, well, 13th Magazine, I just found out, just picked me up and there was another one who contacted me today. and i just literally walked in the door about 15 minutes ago to do a to this podcast, but i was literally just got done a photo shoot and I was like running. I'm like, I gotta go, I gotta keep going.
Speaker: Pulled the clothes into bags, shoved them in my house and like sitting down acting like I'm like, nothing happened. But it's been really, really an honor to come back on your show and I really appreciate the time.
Speaker: This has been great. Thank you. No problem. Brian says hello. Hi, Brian. Brian. Hope you're doing well, buddy.
Speaker: but We got pretend Brian. Brian there. Clifton, thanks for tuning in with us. I appreciate you being on show. my goodness. Yes, I'm terrible at this hosting stuff. I'm not a host by any stretch. I'm terrible with questions and stuff like that. I'm really a listener, and a ah really I feed off of listening and observing. um so please don't mind me if I stay quiet, Mindy, but um very fascinating already. People usually have to tell me to either be quiet or they'll have to say, can I get my question in?
Speaker: Well, that's why we did this because you're just, a you know you can talk and we don't have to say anything. see That's very true. I'm a very good talker.
Speaker: There's also, there's a great advantage for women that want to join in. There's four more spots at the Portisole, Texas,
Speaker: retreat for women. It's basically learning how to shoot properly, which, you know, I love blowing shit up just so you know, I love shooting at the range. and i don't think that I'll ever stop.
Speaker: Love it. Absolutely love it. I love using a grenade launcher. However, when I love that, like on the outside, unless you're training, which, you know, some friends of mine say they're training, which, you know, whatever, whatever,
Speaker: floats the boat, you know, whatever gets them past the judgments of it, right? I love it. But with the women's group, they they've invited me to do some public speaking and advocacy, which is I find amazing.
Speaker: I am more than willing to travel and go anywhere, really, at this point to advocate for I've been known to be the people's advocate. I don't like saying I'm a women's advocate or a men's advocate. I like being for the people. I've always been for the people. represented over 26,000 soldiers at Fort Carson, Colorado, was sent to Washington, DC to help get things changed on the barracks, for our barracks, and then for single soldiers that were having issues on our base.
Speaker: And so I was appointed But the person that was in charge didn't like that because I was a woman and he thought that a man should be running it. So he said, we didn't vote you in, so we need to have a vote. So I was like ah okay, let's vote me in. wonder So he thought that I was going to lose. The problem that we had was I had all these leaders that wanted me in.
Speaker: And so I talked to them and i was like, Hey, if you want me in and you're okay with me being you know your leader, I need you to vote for me. So, and I need you to get all the other leaders and tell them to vote for me. So we went in, it was me against two other men and these men were pretty cocky about it. And they were like, well, we've got the votes to stop the other. I'm like, okay, well, let's count them. men And they're like, why do we need to count them? And was like, because that's how votes work. Yeah, actually like, i don't know, count the numbers.
Speaker: So it was like a landslide and they got irritated and angry. And so, The sergeant major was really mad that I won. And he's like a year later to the day, he's like, we need to have another boat. And i was like, what is this fucking voting shit? You didn't even have the other guy. Like this has not happened. Like you never had anybody else get voted in, but all right, fine.
Speaker: Again, went out, said, Hey, if you guys want me to be your leader, let me know if you don't, this guy's going to be taken over and if we don't want him to take over. And I was like, well, you know, that's who they want to take over. And he's like, who's they?
Speaker: like, no, we want you to Cause I basically I put on kiss events. I put on concerts. I was for the soldiers and I was for the people. So but we did rafting events, whatever we could do to get people together and the camaraderie to grow is what I wanted.
Speaker: The other people wanted, I don't know what they wanted. I didn't even care what they wanted. I wanted to make a difference no matter where I'm at. I kind of want to make the biggest difference that I can. That way I know that no matter what I've done in my lifetime, as far as when I'm breathing, when I stop breathing, then I know I've made a difference in this world.
Speaker: You know, I want my legacy to keep living on. And the biggest hurdle that I was walking against basically is the people that were above me that kept saying that they didn't want me there. But the people that were like on the same level as me, or even, you know, officers and stuff like that, they were like, no, we're fine with you here. It was just the people that didn't want women in the military or didn't want women in that certain um position se.
Speaker: I was the president of Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers at Fort Carson, and it was also basically helping with the um olympic training center so i had people w cap i had different sets of people and little did i know what the effects i had on the base until i went back 10 years later and there were things that were still in in progress and still in effect so i know that i made a difference on on the base and and i want to continue to make a difference as much as i can now that i'm in the public and
Speaker: I really genuinely am pushing really hard for this LC 1508 to pass in my state, which again, that's housing tax to get deferred. And people were asking me, well, if it gets deferred, does that mean we have to pay the rest of it later? No, my goal.
Speaker: And to make it very clear is to get it deferred, meaning that you don't have to pay it. So you don't to pay it back and you don't have to pay a period, just like in Texas.
Speaker: And then once it gets passed in Oregon, i would like it to go through the whole United States and get passed for all 100% veterans, matter what, the Air Force, no matter if your army, and like whatever you are if you're 100% service connected, then I want your housing, i want our housing taxes to be deferred basically. And I don't want us to have to pay so much tax so that we can decrease the homelessness, number one, but,
Speaker: the main goal was to decrease the depression, anxiety, and build up the frustrations that people are having. x five If I can help in that area, then I know, well, I don't know, but I can assume that that will take a lot of the anxiety and the depression that people are having it that I've been talking to because they're afraid of losing your house and they're afraid of not being able to eat. And that is like a security.
Speaker: thing for everybody's looking for the basic needs of Maslow's hierarchy of order, which is your basic needs are security, food and housing.
Speaker: So if I can maybe take just a little bit off people's plates, then then why not? yeah Number one. And then number two, if I can do, if I can make a difference in helping people to decrease the suicide i'd rate, I want to do that as well. And I mean, a lot of people take money for this or they have like these nonprofits and stuff. I actually have been using my own money.
Speaker: I had a for-profit company called Beat My City. It's now in Australia, the UK, and England. I take no money from that. I basically offer up my advice and pretty much my advice is for me.
Speaker: My job right now is I'm a nurse. So I work for the state of Oregon, working with intellectual disabilities, people that have severe intellectual disabilities. And I teach the caregivers how to care for their people. And I'm also a WOTSU practitioner, which means I get people in warm water and I do Shiatsu massage.
Speaker: And I like to work with people with Parkinson's, people have, you know, have been maybe in wheelchairs or bound I like the severe cases, like the severe depression, anxiety, anything that I can do to help the neurosystem kind of combat the chaos basically. And what it does is Watsu's been known, like it's shouts and massage, but it's basically water movement. So you' I'm moving the water I'm moving their bodies with floats on their either at their ankles or on their shins or above their muscles.
Speaker: kneecaps, depending on how big they are. And then I put a spinal pillow underneath the neck and then we work out whatever issues they're having. So if you spinal issues, depression, anxiety, Parkinson's, strokes,
Speaker: My last person was had like spinal fusions and she was full of like metal all throughout her body. That was that was fun. I worked with her for about two hours because she was in a lot of pain. and Her friend was like, is she asleep or something? Like, are you guys okay? Like, I didn't drown her. She's right here. She's not right. We're still here. She's like, you're really funny, Mindy, but I'm going to like get out of the water now. I'm yeah, I'm going out the water.
Speaker: potential andly numbers I wish somebody would have done that with mine. I have most of my joints are, you know, it's got a disease in them that I have to have them replaced.
Speaker: And, you know, they put me in a pool and told me to keep walking. Well, if you're ever in Oregon or central Oregon, I can bring you to either the hot springs out here or we can figure out somewhere to go where think this recreation is supposed to be opening soon and I'm not sure how hot the water is. So I'll get in at first. if it's too cold, then I'll just go to the hot springs. and I personally like the hot springs because it also puts in minerals into the body. There's like natural lithium, you know, there's bromium. There's all sorts of,
Speaker: chemicals that are in pools, unless you go into like my friend's pool is a saltwater pool and it gives you more buoyancy as well. So saltwater is great as well for healing, but I really love the hot springs because there's natural minerals that can go into the body. So there's some people who said that they would invite me to their state or invite me to their area and i can do Watsu on them there.
Speaker: The only thing I ask is that things are paid for because don't want to pay for your treatment. I don't mind paying for certain things and i don't even mind doing a lot of the things. A lot of the things I've actually done have been free.
Speaker: So more people just tip me whatever they want. So um some of the Watsu individuals that I've been working with, their parents or their family has paid, which has been great. A lot of the times though, for the first four or five years, I was doing it for free because I felt that it was a need. And most of the people I was working with, they were like so low income that I kind of felt guilty for even asking them for money. The only thing I asked them was like, can you pay the $10 for us to get into the actual hot springs and I'll do the rest, you know?
Speaker: but now it's costing me and gas and everything else. So ah kind of need to get paid at this point in time. Like it's been over four or five years, but for the most part, i do a lot of my stuff, uh,
Speaker: for free and I love advocacy. And at some point I figured karma will come back around, you know, but at this point I actually do need to get people it's
Speaker: get paid.
Speaker: you have a You have a director friend of ours, his name is Chase Dudley. You're doing a movie for him. Chase Dudley is awesome. will be working with him on something, a movie called A Widow's Oath. It's gonna be my first film with him, working with him.
Speaker: First time I'm actually working with him My friend, Nicole Vegas Butler, she's gonna be, the queen and I'll be working with Noel G who is in Fast and Furious and he will be the king and she'll be the queen and I'll be his sister and her friend mentor in the film. but That's all I kind of know. I don't even know when we're filming. I'm so beyond excited for the role that I will be playing in. i can't wait. It's, I believe, I wanna say
Speaker: either the 14th or the century, 1600s area, centuries. yeah Yeah. He was talking about it when we were, but when we had him back in July, it could have been in May.
Speaker: I can't remember the summer when sort of. sixteen somewhere on there um I was a part of that show. I came on for Florida or not Florida. Oh, there you go.
Speaker: but Yeah, I'm excited. I'm super excited. I've never worked with Nol And then I've worked with Nicole before. She was in a film that I was in called Clown Motel 3.
Speaker: But I'm super excited to work with Chase Dudley. ah So far, the work that I've seen, because he sent me a couple of his, a couple of clips of his old work that he's done. And so far, but I've loved it. you know So I'm really excited to see what he has for us. We're supposed to get the script at some point, but it being next year, i assume it's going to be a little further down the road. you know everything Everything takes time, number one, because people want things done yesterday. And of course, i would love to know like when we're filming, but that's completely up to them, when they get their budgets and stuff like that. Super excited also to be filming in a castle.
Speaker: I've only been in a couple of castles, and that was when I was stationed in Germany. and i am beyond excited for that yeah that'll be awesome yeah yeah it's gonna be like a castle in kentucky i think it's called versailles okay all i know is i looked it up and they had the bomb ass desserts that i can actually eat they're being in and they're free and i was like they're like only you dude i was like i gotta look for like what's most important right now and desserts were calling my name and i think that they're still screaming my name in the middle of the night like hey come get me
Speaker: um want I want to say hi to Keith. You know, he needs to answer my text message I sent him.
Speaker: Hi, Keith. Yeah, Keith. He's the director of 92 Hours. he Oh, nice. We had him on one day, and we were talking with him halfway through the whole thing. He goes, I want you guys on the movie.
Speaker: Oh, nice. and so we're called talking intergalactic news what's something 92 is it 92 hours for a film or but two hours is what it's called is that the film yeah yes um it's going to be interesting i i've only seen bits and pieces of what it's going to be about but i get to do it remote uh with brian and we'll be doing it here in Florida. Well, you know, it could be cold up there or whatever. I'm not sure when we're recording it.
Speaker: Where they at? Chicago. yeah Chicago. It's going get cold soon. Or he gets sometimes, like, sometimes it snows. Last year it didn't snow, which I was extremely happy about.
Speaker: My friends that are ski instructors were like, curse you. cursing you right now because I was like, look, I'm absolutely loving this. It could be like 80 degrees, 70 degrees the rest of the year. They're like, no, cannot, Mindy. i Tonight is its cool outside for Florida. It'll be almost 60 degrees by time we wake up in the morning.
Speaker: Oh, nice. Yeah, it was really nice today as well. I've been doing a couple different photo shoots. The last one, it it poured down rain. I mean, it was like supposed to be nice and then we get out there so i'm like uh well i guess all right how about this we're gonna take a break we're gonna we're gonna play a music video and then when we come back we'll play florida or not florida who can actually win this one mendio or cliff did i don't know how i could look and see how well you did last time
Speaker: want find Yeah, ah this one, um the song, i it's not going to be, it's probably not going to say the name of this, but Don't Say Goodbye is the name of the song.
Speaker: um I'll tell you more about it when we come back. Oh, I got to play the song too.
Speaker: I learned to carry what I couldn't change. And some wounds still hurt the same.
Speaker: We can't see them there Don't say goodbye
Speaker: wonder what was going through your mind. I wonder if you thought you were leaving us behind. I wish you could have seen what I see now. All the people who would have held you somehow.
Speaker: You goodbye became a lifetime of questions. A whole time could never completely fail. But your story doesn't have to be my ending. And someone's story can change tonight still.
Speaker: Don't say goodbye.
Speaker: I lost my father in 1991 and I still carry him with me.
Speaker: But if this song can keep one person here, then maybe something good can come from the tragedy. Don't say goodbye tonight, there's still a reason to hold on tight.
Speaker: 1991 changed my life.
Speaker: Who doesn't get to ride my engine? If you're listening to that, please stay. There's still more life ahead.
Speaker: That was really good. I want that. Can you send me a link if that's like Spotify or something? Nope. That's my own song. but you did it ai right so did you upload it to spotify i can't load it to spotify um that way because it's ai generated the song itself i wrote right i just i didn't have anybody to sing it and i can't sing for shit so yeah that's why they have this thing called like suno or whatever it's called well that's what i that's what i put it on but that's how i got it uh i think that does upload actually to spotify
Speaker: right, and if it can, I'll still send you a link, though, because I have it all. Yeah, no, I like that. That was good song. And so what AI is singing? It sounds like somebody's singing. There's so many things that are AI, people we get all pissy about it But you know what?
Speaker: If you're writing the music, who cares? um Yeah, I wrote that song because back in 1991 is when I found out my father had killed himself.
Speaker: And ever since then, I've try i tried my hardest to you know listen to people as much as possible. um My wife, well, she'll tell you I don't, but that's a different story. yeah at um But writing that song was something different. It helps.
Speaker: I have one for my mom too, because, you know, that was the first one I did because, you know, I lost her back in May, of course. And it's just been, it's sometimes it's easier to get stuff out that way.
Speaker: I think writing is cathartic, you know, mean, that's, I encourage people to write in their journals or, you know, I even keep a little notebook in my purse just in case I have some thoughts that I write down and, you know, it might,
Speaker: sound cheesy to somebody, but sometimes I'll just get mid thoughts and I'm either going to have to record it on my phone to remember it later or just jot it down. and so I journal, I write poetry. Sometimes I'll just, you know, somebody will give me a word and I'll just start writing or if I see a picture, my kick has been like trying to get to as many waterfalls as i possibly can. i think I've seen like 14 in the last three weeks. So I was like, I'm on a mission right before winter hits to get to like as many as I can. And they, I if amazed by how many waterfalls there are in Oregon. And love them.
Speaker: I would love to find more. So, i mean, I am on a mission to like get as much as done as possible. And then i want to travel. I really genuinely would love to go wherever. i have no idea where yet, but I pretty much make my own schedule for nursing. And since the state hasn't really been giving us that many clients, I'm like, all right, need to but not go stir crazy and get up and travel and go do some things and meet other people. And you never know whose lives you can change. you know mean, there There's so many people that are struggling right now. And like I said, if I can be a con a conduit to help anybody that needs it, then you know why not? Because with Watsu, as long as I've got warm water that's 98 1304 degrees in enough space to literally turn somebody at least once or twice, i can do it in hot tubs. It's a little different. I just have to align it differently. But If I can turn you more than once, then we're good, you know golden. So if anybody wants that service, let me know. I'm more than happy to figure out how to work it.
Speaker: All right. That being said, we're going play a little game. We're going to break this up a little. And of course, you guys know what the game is. It's called Florida or not Florida. This seems to be bad.
Speaker: We took this game from a friend of ours. was We did the game with him and we told him, well, we're going to like use it. And he's like, OK, I wrote him down on the screen so you guys can read them also. um What is it?
Speaker: The first one. um Woman arrested for DUI after claiming Jesus turned for water. Oh my God.
Speaker: I'm going to say it is Florida.
Speaker: Jesus turned my water into wine. Oh my gosh. That does sound like Florida. I'll go Florida too.
Speaker: Okay, give it a minute. We're going to let people in the chat come up with something if they're going play. I can't see the chat. are they Can you see the chat?
Speaker: Are you on your phone? No, I'm on your laptop. You should have been able to see the chat. ah It says chat in the studio, but that's about it. Oh, wait. meeting oh there we go There we go.
Speaker: Ah, whoops. Just kidding. think
Speaker: Amanda's going with not Florida. All right. see these Again, a woman arrested for DUI after claiming Jesus turned her water into wine.
Speaker: She literally dumped her water on the cop car. ah And this is Georgia. Georgia.
Speaker: Yeah, when I seen that, I was like, what the hell? Oh, that's classic.
Speaker: Oh, Ronald Black. brional black How you know him, Ron? Ronald Black. What's up, buddy? What's up? How you guys doing? Daniel Paul says I gotta go.
Speaker: Yeah, he's busy doing a movie. I know that. And then, not sure if i missed it, dragon character voicing. i don't know what that means, but I'm going to be doing my own voice.
Speaker: I didn't hear the first part of the um conversation that we were hearing. ah He wanted to know, see if you were voicing the dragon, if you get it made it into a cartoon, or when you may get it into a cartoon, or if you were have somebody do it.
Speaker: Oh, no. I genuinely want to the voice for most of my I'm definitely going to the voice for resilient warrior and most likely 99% going to be doing a dragon's voice, unless the woman that I'm was talking to who I just did the, um,
Speaker: I was just flown out to Tennessee to do like a documentary. So if she gets those people involved, then it might be a little different, but I prefer to do my own voicing.
Speaker: Okay. Next one. Man arrested after allegedly throwing a fla fake bladder into a police. Oh my God. Not Florida. Probably like some Alabama.
Speaker: Florida. you got, Amanda? Where are you at? Come on, Amanda.
Speaker: Ronna Black says, what's up, people? Florida. Florida. Alabama. Backwoods. Backwoods, Mississippi.
Speaker: yeah
Speaker: He'll be surprised at this one. Okay, one more time. Man allegedly, a man arrested for allegedly throwing fake ladder into a patrol car. yeah
Speaker: ryan Florida. That happened in Florida. Really? Good job, Clifton. Yes. Thank you, man. Great guess.
Speaker: 50 15 i did not get that i thought it wouldd be like some backwoods mississippi georgia see this but this next one i had to laugh at because i thought it was just funny because you never see it two bears walking to a man he was sitting on the toilet oh my god that's hilarious do they have bears in florida yes we have bears in florida going say it wasn't Florida. going say it was like Montana, which my friend calls Montana.
Speaker: Not Florida. We'll say like Wisconsin. I'm going to say Montana. My friend has literally bears literally actually walking in his house and it was crazy.
Speaker: They had to clean up a bunch of bear shit. and I was like, well,
Speaker: Can you imagine when they're like, ah if you're like that joke where it says you don't shit in the woods bears don't shit in the woods and all of a sudden you're again Again, two bears walk into a man's house while he was sitting on the toilet.
Speaker: It happened in Colorado. Colorado. That's my old stomping grounds. Okay.
Speaker: Uh, next one wanted man gets arrested while police officers are taking a bathroom break at a. um Yeah, at and I don't know why I wrote it that way at a art museum.
Speaker: Once it gets arrested while the police officers are using the bathroom at an art museum.
Speaker: Now.
Speaker: I'm going to say like Virginia.
Speaker: It's Florida even happening. arrested. Police officers are taking a bathroom break. Not Florida. that grace Okay, ah I'll tell you this. He got arrested for something stupid.
Speaker: he was He was at a... ah What was it? i got He was actually at a gas station and he sort of just walked out with his drink.
Speaker: um He went over to the art museum. They arrest him. I'm going to say I'll be
Speaker: Wanted man gets arrested while police officers are taking a bathroom break at an art museum. That happened in Pennsylvania.
Speaker: Pennsylvania. Philly at that. Oh, that makes sense. yeah Bed bug capital of the world. Philadelphia.
Speaker: Last one. Man dressed as Superman was arrested for stealing from a boat. Florida. Florida.
Speaker: Damn, you guys were fast on that one. yeah Florida.
Speaker: My friend in Dayton. There's no other option. That would be like, yeah, it's Florida. He's like, no, Mindy, it's Florida. love florida i this under this you know A man dressed as Superman was arrested for stealing from a boat.
Speaker: And you guys are correct. It was Florida. Oh.
Speaker: superman stealing from a boat huh geez what's this world coming to huh and clifton you only got one wrong thiss time this between you you you won but between the three of you amanda won she got all good job amanda dang good job amanda That's why she's our number one fan.
Speaker: yeah where we We literally call her our number one fan because every time we get something new, she gets it um you know We give her decals. She actually took one of our decals and gave it to Kane Hodder.
Speaker: Oh, cool. Yeah, it was it was freaking awesome.
Speaker: Well, so if anybody yeah if anybody knows any police officers that will be willing to get a Dragon's Voice into their police station, please let me know. i would be My 13 year old's mom is a deputy.
Speaker: will talk to her. That'd be great. I'm really trying to get this pushed in more states. It's only in six states right now. And she's a former teacher. So she's a former elementary school teacher. So I'm sure she'll be all for it. So that'd be great. So yeah, it looks like this to drive his voice.
Speaker: Mindy Doherty. And then this, would love to get into more advocacy centers. Resilient Warrior. So available on Amazon.
Speaker: They're all online, amazon.com, walmart.com and Barnes and Noble. So three different spots, Walmart, Barnes and Noble. Most people get their stuff off Amazon though. So yeah, I'm really working on getting ah in as many places as I possibly can to different advocacy groups, family advocacy groups, different centers.
Speaker: And then my children's book, I'd really love to get it in some schools and as many police departments as possible. Beautiful. Nice.
Speaker: I'd like to see that too. Yeah. As far as getting at the and animation, I'm not sure how that works yet. I'm just now working on doing the voice activations for the audible.
Speaker: So I have bought a microphone just recently and some headphones and I'll be doing the audio version and recording it sooner than later.
Speaker: awesome awesome Yeah, I can see it. I can see the dragon as an animation. That would be cool. Yeah, I don't know how to do that yet. Somebody else was telling me that they would help me and dropped off the end of the world. They were working on their stuff, which is, I mean, totally understandable.
Speaker: So I'm now working, I'm waiting for somebody to help me with that. I am not a tech savvy person. won't even, Like some this stuff that's gone way over my head, even some of this AI stuff, i'm like, my God, somebody please help me with this. Like, how does this work?
Speaker: Most of the AI stuff that I use is to make the promotional posters for the show and write out, like I put in what I wanted to say, but it makes me look smarter.
Speaker: That's the only reason why I need to, because I'll, I, I screw up words left and right and where punctuations go and stuff like that. I was never good in English in school. I could write a story, but it was just. Yeah, no, I was good at math.
Speaker: Yeah, math i was good at until we got to like geometry and algebra and all that stuff. like i was I was good at sleeping.
Speaker: I was a math whiz when I was young too, but i my son, just showed me his, um he's in eighth grade, but he does high school math. And he was just bri brought it over a couple of days ago on Wednesday, was showing me his math homework. And it was, and I had no idea what I was looking at. The way that they do math nowadays, it's I couldn't do it that way.
Speaker: I'm like, that's what calculators are for there, sweet pea. Nope. They can't even use those. They have to use steps to learn it all until you get into a certain grade. Then you can use that. You can use calculators. But they have, you know, what we used to use for, you know, regular division, they want like 12 different steps for it. And it's ridiculous.
Speaker: Yeah, it's completely different than what we grew up with. Yeah. Yeah, he brought over his notebook and it was just loaded already. He's two weeks into the school year and he's already got a notebook just loaded with all these math this math stuff. but Wow.
Speaker: but Good for him. He's smart. so youre alone Your kids are, oh yeah. No, two weeks in, that's it? Yeah. they so They started here. these We're almost into two months here.
Speaker: Yeah. I think after Labor Day is when ours started over here. I mean, I don't have to worry about it. got kids in school anymore. They don't have kids. so My youngest is 21. Oh, wow.
Speaker: Yeah, Common Core. What's Common Core? What is that? That's the math that it is. it's called calm. Oh, yeah. Oh, I'm like, are you like working out your abdominals or something like this?
Speaker: Yeah, people work out and one and two. What's one times three? Three. anded The stuff that they learn in school nowadays, i'm I'm glad that they're putting here in Florida, they're putting person back in school.
Speaker: As of this year. They have person either.
Speaker: and They got rid of a lot of that. well So much stuff out of the ah educational programs over the last 10 years. It's unbelievable. they're trying Now they're trying to put school books back into it instead of having the tablets.
Speaker: Oh, my gosh. I didn't agree i didn think about that. They didn't have books? No, they do it all on tablets. They can read it all off their tablets. I can understand using, like we use computers, well, like i the Apple computer, but it was only like for 10 or 15 minutes on like, I think that's why for my generation anyway, or where i was how I grew up, everything was only books.
Speaker: That's why I'm like so frustrated with the computer. Like sometimes i want throw it out the window. So I'm like, I don't get it. and the and The computers we used to have in school, the only thing we really used them on they taught us how to type. That was about it. But, yeah you know, we played the Oregon Trail. Right. That was what we to do for it. That was it. Yes, I remember the Oregon Trail. Number Munchers.
Speaker: Odell Lake. Odell Lake with the little fish. Remember that one?
Speaker: Computers came out when I was in school. I remember all that stuff. i mean, I'll be 50 at the end of the year, December 8th, so I don't know how old you guys are. i am I'll 49 in October. Oh, okay. i my bird i I'm actually going to have my birthday on the podcast, and we're going have a bunch of clowns on the show. Right on.
Speaker: I'm beautiful. 49, huh? 49. I'm 45. Okay, so you guys aren't that young. um i'm forty five okay so you guys aren't that I mean, that much younger than I am.
Speaker: So let's see.
Speaker: that yeah that you're gonna be doing
Speaker: see Well, the ones that I was supposed to be doing, they they changed too many dates and they wanted it like two weeks before Thanksgiving. And right now I'm not up for that. The the prices of tickets went up to like almost 1500 and us was like, look, I'm not spending $1,500 to go anywhere. Actually, it's just not worth it to me.
Speaker: So. I've decided that I'm going to be doing advocacy stuff. And I, instead of doing like the only one that I'm really looking forward to at this point in time is Chase, uh, Chase Dudley's, uh, the rest of them, I basically have not since they changed too many, they it was it was constantly changing. So i was like, all right, look,
Speaker: after the 15, 16, it's like I was trying to keep up, but now that it's two weeks before Thanksgiving, I'm not, I'm not doing that. So I'm committed to doing more advocacy groups. I'm going to be going, um, when the four more females or four more women sign up for cortisol, Texas retreat, then I'll be getting flown out there to,
Speaker: to public speaking and help with advocacy down there. So I'm really, really pushing again for veterans to get 100% service connected housing deferments.
Speaker: I'm working on getting other legislative changes hopefully done as well. um They're really difficult actually. I didn't really think about it when I decided to make this goal, but and i tend to make larger goals in my life. So like, shit. And then I really want to make the books into audios and really want to make the animation and do resilient warrior into either like a docudrama or something small and simple to where it could be simple to the point to where it's not all dragged out.
Speaker: um And then actually i just found out that my publisher is putting our Cooking with Fire into film festivals in about, I want to say in a month or two, and that's possibly in January. So I'm getting flown out to Tennessee when that comes back out. And I'm not sure when they're doing that. So I'm looking forward to Cooking with Fire, the documentary series. Well, it's going to series of pilots right now. we were the first ones, my friend and I.
Speaker: She was also a combat field medic. She's gone to, i think, three or four different wars. Total badass. I love her. Ameren. And she wrote her own books as well.
Speaker: and i Am My Sister's Keeper is her book. And so we've got her and I together for the... they um for this and that's basically the documentary is gonna come out or the docu series or pilot that's gonna come out soon.
Speaker: And as soon as we find out when that comes out, I'll make an announcement because I have idea to be honest with you. I guess it goes to a like he wanted to put it in film festival first and then if people pick it up then was from my understanding, then more money can go towards it and then marketing and all that other stuff. but I don't really know how that works because I've never done film festivals. I've never gone to any of those things.
Speaker: and I was asked if I was going to some of these Comic Cons, which I've never gone. I've never been to those yet either. So I kind of am behind, I guess. I need to start going to some of these like events and just kind of sit there and and I've had people ask for photographs and stuff like that. And I do that, books and stuff. So I can just bring those with me.
Speaker: So just, I'm opening up to different opportunities, I guess. But if anybody is ready to do films and let me know what you guys are doing and maybe hop on, hop on board or, or I've done actually just did two voiceovers, one for a Canadian, sent that off to Canada and I'm doing Another one that just got finished for Black Eyed Children. I think it's called Black Eyed Children number three with Joseph. And I just finished the voiceover for that. And that'll be going to the UK. So exciting. I love doing voiceovers. I think it's fun.
Speaker: People keep telling me have like a radio voice, which I don't know what that is. But whatever it is, i like it.
Speaker: So, Cliff, we barely heard from you. What do you got coming up? Me? oh yeah Oh, gosh. to hear about anything I'm doing. My goodness. um I guess i right now, I mean, right now, is it's all about sick and twisted tales. You know, we've had our movie running throughout Pennsylvania. um The next showing is actually this weekend on the 29th in a Lewistown, Pennsylvania.
Speaker: And then it's coming to Minnesota, coming to Minneapolis on October 17th in my home state. um So, yeah, there's our here's our beautiful little Blu-ray right there. Can't see it very well. But anyways...
Speaker: So that's coming home here. So I'm really, really busy right now. Getting flyers made and just um getting ready to promote my my butt off. um Old school, getting flyers. I'm gonna go out and hit up the city. I'm gonna go hit up all the Halloween shops, see if I can leave stuff there. Go staple stuff up on the on the ah telephone poles. Old school, doing it all old school. Get ahold of all the news broadcast stations and see if they'll let me on in the morning to promote it. um That's what I'm doing right now. yeah Maybe you plot that into radio. but Yeah, that is really the main focus right now. And then um i got another premiere coming up um on...
Speaker: October 20, the 24th or 26. I think it's the 24th. um I can't keep my dates straight, but that is for ah Black Sheep, um which is starring Shonda Rawlings, made by ah to our directors, Amanda Megan, um Patent Productions.
Speaker: Um, Ronald Black was a producer on that. Uh, but that one's great. It's got Cody Newton's our DP on the production value. It looks, it's beautiful. Made very well.
Speaker: um very fortunate to be a part of that one. So I'm excited for that to come out. It sounds like they got some serious distribution coming up with it too. Um, so, but they're holding it all a secret until we're all there together. So, um,
Speaker: That's what I got coming up. Oh, wait, hold on. Hold on. I got another thing coming up. This is important to me. Maybe it's not to anyone else, but are you guys Led Zeppelin fans? like Led Zeppelin.
Speaker: um Robert Plant is coming to town and he's doing a little smaller show, but I get to, I got tickets to go to see Robert Plant and he'll be what, 78 years old when I go see him.
Speaker: Wow. Amazing. Yeah. So I'm really, I'm really excited for that because that's, that's pretty special. So. Are you going to take your time?
Speaker: I guess that's about it. That's about it for me. Other than that, then we just got a bunch of projects coming up at the beginning of the year. We'll just keep things rolling here. so Very excited. Very thankful and blessed to be involved in all this stuff. so that' so cool
Speaker: That's so cool. That would be cool to see. and With his age and stuff, it'll be it'll be really good. Oh, Robert Plant. Yeah, that's going to be amazing. So because that guy, one thing about Robert Plant, right? Like you see a lot of stuff like online where you see like Guns N' Roses or Motley Crue or all these bands who are artists who don't come out with new music. They just keep trying to rehash the old stuff that their vocals can't hold up to anymore because of age, right? like Robert Plant, he through all these decades has totally revamped his music style so that his vocals are still just as gorgeous as they were back in the late 60s and 70s.
Speaker: um He's just learned how to gracefully age his music along with his age to make it all still sound just as great. So yeah, I'm really excited. he's He is my all-time favorite vo male vocalist. So A friend of mine does security for Guns N' Roses. And I mean, I really actually still love Guns N' Roses. Like, they're old songs. Oh, me too. Don't get me wrong. Yeah, me too. like But if you ask me, like, who I really want to go see again, it would always pretty much be Metallica. Because i love seeing them live.
Speaker: Like, just the riffs on their guitars. all I mean, all you do is hear this, like, one riff and you're all... Well, yeah, and I went to see them last time they were here, too. was like a two-night event. but But the fact that, like, how much they truly love what they do still, you know, and it shows when they're on stage. I mean, yes they're all smiles from ear to ear. They're loving every second of it, you know. It's powerful. They've got a huge fan base. I mean, it hasn't gone anywhere. with The last time I saw them was at Red Rocks.
Speaker: This was a while ago. I'm kind of dating myself. But it was like 2008 when they had the tombs and they were coming up. don't remember what the tour was called. It was so awesome. All you heard was a couple of riffs and everybody was going crazy wild. yeah like You couldn't even almost hear them. had to turn themselves up. was awesome. And all of a sudden tombs were all... Last year...
Speaker: Last year, Metallica, when they played in Virginia, they made a small little hurricane or hurricane earthquake. Wow. That's cool.
Speaker: That's badass. Hi, Mary Kate. Mary Kate. I love you, Mary Kate.
Speaker: My girl. Yeah, she's ah she's talking about a lot. Over the past few years that we got to know her. All
Speaker: right. We asked me for an hour. It is over the hour. thank you um This was great. I think you went by really fast. Usually it does though. I'm a talker.
Speaker: It works. It's less. question to him mindy i was nervous. I thought I was going to have to actually speak or something. I'm glad I didn't. Thank you. Well, usually when people are like, you want to understand, I'm like, okay, you're going have to like inject yourself or at least let me know. Like, Hey, can I ask a question? Just shut your camera off so we can talk.
Speaker: me on mute. Actually mute Excuse me. You've been over talking. Yeah. yeah excuse me you've been over talking
Speaker: All right. One last question and it's for both of you. ah And we'll start off with Mindy. Where can people find you on social media? So I am on Facebook, Mindy Doherty, M-I-N-D-Y, D-O-U-G-H-E-R-C-Y. I'm on Instagram at W-T-R-G-P-S-Y. It's Water Gypsy without the vowels.
Speaker: I'm on TikTok. I believe it's Mindy Doherty as well. It's better than Mark talking the whole time. oh That's funny.
Speaker: Let's see. So I'm on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn. what think those are most of social medias, right? we're missing I don't do extra or Twitter or whatever the thing is anymore.
Speaker: think that's it, right? Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Sounds good to me. Do you have what? You have a YouTube channel, don't you?
Speaker: I do. I think it's called Mindy 8, but I don't really use it because I haven't really had that much uploaded. And when I was putting stuff on there, <unk>t really get that many views. So I was like, oh, okay Clifton, how about you?
Speaker: Me? I'm just on Facebook, Clifton Taylor, and on Instagram, Clifton13Taylor. thirteen taylor That's about it. I think it goes to threads, too. Did yours go to threads?
Speaker: Threads, yeah. and i I think I have a thread, but I don't use it. You have under a certain amount of words, which usually I never fit that category. Yeah. Go to threads.
Speaker: Yeah, I never even use that. it it Sometimes it just goes to it, and I'm like, okay, whatever. Yeah, I don't look it. There's lot of fake profiles on there, and it's just it annoys the crap of me because I get like these following things. I'm like the best blocker ever. All
Speaker: right. ah Next week on the show, we'll have Daniel Jackson. He's a spirit medium. So this should be interesting. one Another great show on the books.
Speaker: Hell yeah. yeah Thanks, Mary Kate. I love you so much. I can't drop it. I can't announce. Well, I can announce if Brian is not back next week, which he may fake sick again.
Speaker: um no ah he's got COVID. um We'll have a special and we'll have his name, a comedian. His name's ah Bryce Tucker will be the um the guest host if Brian's not back.
Speaker: So we'll find out. Of course, whenever people tune in, they'll find out if Brian's back or not. So we'll see. Right on. <unk> Florida or not Florida.
Speaker: Yeah. Other than that, this is where we say goodbye. If you want, you can stick in the back room for a minute. guys I appreciate everybody tuning in and thanks for sharing. us Yes. Thank you, everybody. Thank you guys. Thank you, Mindy.
Speaker: Thank you, Mindy. Thank you, Clifton. Follow us wherever you guys are. Yeah. i From here at Talking Shit, I'm Mark.
Speaker: This is Clifton. And that's Mindy. Mindy Doherty. Come find us.
Speaker: Bitch, I'm in the...
