Jordyn: Hello listeners and welcome back to another episode of Book Watch. We're missing our boy Chris today, but you've got me and Sarah Day and we're covering book three of the iconic Twilight Saga.

Jordyn: This one is called Eclipse. and We will get started right after these quick messages.

Jordyn: Okie dokie. quick background for this one. came out Book came out in 2007. And by then, they had already started making more movies, so they knew it was going to be a hit. So the release date for the film was only three years after the book came out in 2010.

Jordyn: The director was David Slade. Screenwriters, once again, Stephanie Meyer was in that writer's room. And we also have returning screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg with her on that. And...

Jordyn: This one. honestly is like the most forgettable one for me. I think it's...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: Like... the least interesting because like Book one, everything is new and exciting and interesting. And then book two is the introduction of the werewolves.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And then this one. We kind of already know everything about the world. We're not discovering anything new. And it's pretty much all just. Bella's internal monologue and struggle between choosing between the two guys.

Jordyn: And even for me.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: It was tough to get through because I was like, girl, you gotta just make up your mind at some point and stop this. It's ridiculous.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. I would agree that it's the most forgettable one. I still don't. consider it a true love triangle because I don't feel like she's ever remote romantically in love with jacob she just loves him as a brother and a friend We do get a little bit more backstory on the tribe and their werewolf.

Jordyn: Mm hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Not necessarily curse, but their mutation, I think they call it.

Jordyn: mm -hmm

Sarah-Daye McDougall: and how that came to be and i'm sure we'll get to it during our conversation but the book gives us a lot more extra detail during that

Sarah-Daye McDougall: exposition than we get in the film

Jordyn: again

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And. This is sort of just... A bridge between.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: the Victoria storyline and. Not the Illuminati.

Jordyn: The Volturi.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: The Vittori.

Jordyn: Basically the same thing. In a lot of ways, basically interchangeable.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Peace.

Jordyn: But they call it the Volturi in this one.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yes. So it's the bridge between, you know. the start of the story and then this epic conclusion that we're gonna get in breaking dawn And I think that's why it's so boring is because it's just.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: a bridge

Jordyn: mhm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: There's not a lot of meat to the plot.

Jordyn: Yeah, it... you're very right it's tying up the loose ends of victoria and everything from book one. And then. like you said building the bridge continuing the little bit of the Volturi we got at the end carrying that through.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: so that way when we have the you know, the big conflict in the next book. you know. It's not like we haven't seen them at all. And they've just been mysteriously off in Italy the whole time.

Jordyn: so

Jordyn: That's fair. I just... I... The real reason that I was like, oh, this is not. any pretty much nobody's favorite is because there's really only one meme that came out of this movie.

Jordyn: And it's when Jasper says, battle scars, and his mouth comes all the way up like that on that side.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: He...

Jordyn: That's the only... There's a lot. We'll get into Jasper.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah, yeah.

Jordyn: There's a lot happening.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: accent was like very thick in this film like when he's telling all of his stories

Jordyn: He's only had like... He's only had like three lines in other films, but yes, it's very thick.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I mean that's true. That's true. but it's just like whoa where is this coming from

Jordyn: Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: yeah this is definitely the most jasper we've seen

Jordyn: Yes. Which I like. I like Jasper as a character. I think he's interesting. I love that actor, Jackson Rathbone.

Jordyn: he's fabulous he was actually a contender to play edward and i won them

Jordyn: I want to visit that alternate universe where he was Edward and see.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: what life is like over there. i'm just curious about that but yeah literally the fact that That is the only meme. that stuck around, you know. 15 years later tells me that this one is not as good as the other ones.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Speaking of alternate universes, I saw news that Stephanie Meyer wanted. two different actors to be

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Bella and Edward and one is very well known and

Jordyn: Mm -hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: That is Superman.

Jordyn: Yeah. Henry Cavill.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Henry Cavill, thank you.

Jordyn: Yes.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And like looking at his image, like how old he was when these were coming out, he would have been a perfect Edward. And then is it Emily Browning is who she wanted to play.

Jordyn: mm -hmm

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Bella, which I think she would have been a phenomenal Bella. So I want to know what happened there and why we got Kristen Stewart over Emily Browning.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Edward, I think would have been really great.

Jordyn: Yeah. That would have been really interesting, yeah. I know for Henry Cavill, they determined that even at the time that the movies were coming out, that he was still too old.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm.

Jordyn: And so that's. ultimately why he or that's one of the big reasons why he didn't end up getting

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: getting the role. I have no idea what happened with Emily Browning though. It could have been any number of reasons, but yeah, I would also like to visit that alternate universe where at least one or both of them was in their roles.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: I don't know. As much as I love

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And I said, I know.

Jordyn: Everything.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I said on the last episode that I really liked the chemistry between Kristen Stewart and

Jordyn: It would be very interesting to see.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Jacob.

Jordyn: Taylor Lautner.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Taylor Lautner.

Jordyn: Mm hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And. I wouldn't want to lose that chemistry if Emily Browning was, and you know, if Taylor was still Jacob, but Emily Browning was Bella, I wonder how that chemistry would change because I do like, you know, I.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Mhm. Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: you can tell that he loves her and it's unrequited and I really think that comes across on screen well so I don't know

Sarah-Daye McDougall: how it would be with a different actress but i Just never really feel the chemistry between. Bella and Edward in the films.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: like you do and also this book really I've been like picking up on it throughout the series but I really hate Edward in this book like he's just Annoying.

Jordyn: That's fair.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: misogynistic.

Jordyn: yeah well so is jacob jacob does a lot of stuff to bella in this book that i am like oh my i was horrified at like he kisses her without her consent and then he oh

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm. Yes.

Jordyn: blatantly manipulates her i'm gonna go kill myself if you don't ask me to kiss you give me permission to kiss you or allow myself to be killed in this battle rather.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm -hmm.

Jordyn: which same difference, like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: there's a lot of messed up stuff that jacob does too in the name of like winning bella's heart and i'm like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Jordyn: First of all, you guys. you both could be like immortal and like this is the chick that you're gonna go with like She's by all accounts, very normal and like not.

Jordyn: special in any ways she's like the ultimate i'm just you know i'm actually just like other girls you know main character And I get that you guys both know her, especially Jacob. You've known her a long time. You really love her. I just don't.

Jordyn: Reading this as an adult especially, I just don't get it.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And it's so...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: I remember having some similar thoughts about like boys I liked and stuff when I was in high school. But like. I also remember... at the same time reading Twilight in high school and being like this is a lot even for me.

Jordyn: Even for me actively in high school, this is kind of a lot.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm. mm -hmm

Jordyn: And I'm like, how do you as an adult? write this. So. Well... Stephanie Meyer, that is as if you're still living in that. Mindspace.

Jordyn: of a teenager

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And then it's like. even more dramatic, even more over the top. I was like. Yeah. I don't know but

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Anyways. Okay, very few new additions to the cast in this movie. Getting into that. We've got Seth and Leah Clearwater. We finally actually meet them. And they are played by...

Jordyn: Seth is played by Boo Boo Stewart and Leah is played by Julia Jones. And then we add Riley. Oh. Well, two things. Victoria has been swapped out. We have a new Victoria played by Bryce Dallas Howard.

Jordyn: And Xavier Samuel plays Riley Beers. What did you think of the swap out of Victoria's?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: she's seen so little in the first two that it doesn't really face me like her role in her she's on screen a lot more in this one she's more interactive in this one she's really just arm candy in the first one and

Sarah-Daye McDougall: you barely see her i don't think she has a single speaking line in the second one

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: So.

Jordyn: This is true.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I mean, whatever. It's fine. They both have red hair. You know, you can't really unless you're like. really paying attention and looking for it i don't think it's that obvious of a recast.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And then, yeah. Xavier is a cutie patootie. You can really tell that he's just like this innocent, naive, young vampire being manipulated by Victoria.

Jordyn: I want to visit the alternate universe where everything is the same but we kept the original Victoria. I made a note later, like in that big, you know, final battle between her and Edward and even like throughout we see her.

Jordyn: Her facial exp - russian the wade rice dallas howard either chose to play her or was directed to play her, her face just looks more scared.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Hmm.

Jordyn: Like she just looks very on edge, very nervous the whole time versus the old Victoria was very sure of herself and almost arrogant. And she just had this like.

Jordyn: the you know the vampire confidence of like i can literally do anything that i want and nobody can stop me versus Bryce Dallas Howard looked like she was like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: of what she was doing.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah I get that.

Jordyn: And so I'm like that to me feels like a change. to the character. that i didn't love so i just i would just want to visit that universe and just see that that version of twilight with OG Victoria and how she would do it differently.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well, and even if it was Bryce Dallas Howard in this one, just a different director, like I really do think a lot of the problems with the films.

Jordyn: Mm -hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: is the source material first and foremost but also like the directing i don't think the directing is very good like i don't even know if he read the books or whoever, sorry, he or she read the books.

Jordyn: Yes.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Because... Like I don't think that's a Bryce Dallas Howard. acting problem i think i think she was directed to act that way because she's going into this battle with all these werewolves and i don't think they really understand the character and who like what her motivations were and like where she came from and

Jordyn: Mm -hmm.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah, I just think. Because these are all really great actors. Like we can't deny any of the talent.

Jordyn: Yeah. Right, right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: you're just

Jordyn: Robert Pattinson is going to win an Oscar here in the next couple of years. Like we know that he can act and yet.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: For sure.

Jordyn: this is the Edward we got. So like, it's something it's right. You're absolutely right. It's not. I mean, and some of these actors, like, haven't really gone on to... bigger, better things post twilight.

Jordyn: so you maybe you can say for them it's both but like for some of these people like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: like Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Pattinson, especially it's like. we know that they can really act and give great performances and we don't get that here.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: And so you're totally right. It's all your fault, David Slade, director.

Jordyn: Okay. Are there any other performances from our returning cast that stick out that we want to talk about? Everybody's pretty much the same.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah, I think we've talked about the cast enough. We get a little bit of Jane and Alec in this one, kind of just watching over. But again, not too much to comment on there.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I think all in all, this is just a really forgettable. installment of the series. acting wise, story wise. all of the above.

Jordyn: Yeah. Pretty much. Alright. Getting into that plot then, well... Well. even less than usual there is because again so much of the book is just

Jordyn: Bella being moved between her two

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Thanks, D.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: between werewolf camp and vampire camp. and then her inner monologue. of angst of i can't live without jacob but i'm hurting him oh what am i gonna do like just the most ridiculous.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: So yeah, there's not a lot of like actual. plot that's happening it's just like somehow bella the only one to figure out that victoria is connected to everything and like somehow she's the smartest in the room.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Hmm.

Jordyn: all the time. which Okay. All right.

Jordyn: I can't even.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well again, that's going back to the source material and how it's not that great.

Jordyn: Right. Right. Which and she has like she figured out the vampire. She figured out the werewolves, you know, around the gag order.

Jordyn: So like she she we have seen that she's demonstrated, you know, a level of like.

Jordyn: problem solving and like intelligence.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Intelligence, yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah. and that specific type of like detective intelligence and putting pieces together. but like the fact that Edward didn't think of it, that Alice didn't think of it.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: Come on, you guys. Please be serious. The biggest difference that I noticed. between the book and the movie which is you know one of the benefits of a movie is we can see what's happening from other povs so like we get to see victoria building the army we have to see her turn riley we get to see riley turning other people you know that him trying to keep all these newborns under control We actually there's the added scene, which is never.

Jordyn: confirmed in the canon they suspect that the Volturi like they're like the Volturi should have already been out here handling what's happening in Seattle by now.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And the movie actually decides to show us that, yes, the Volturi are in fact. in seattle watching this and allowing it to happen hoping that it takes out some of the hoping that the newborns take out some of the cullens.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: which you know. I kind of like, I kind of like showing that dark side of the Volturi and again, building them up to be this like legitimate threat and a political threat.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm -hmm.

Jordyn: They're the only source of, you know, government. pseudo government that the vampires have so giving them you know showing them And Jane, especially giving her that moment to show that she's the top dog in this.

Jordyn: you know. mini army this hit squad I thought was valuable and I'm glad that the movie included these other scenes. instead of just giving us Bella holding her head in her hands and thinking.

Jordyn: really hard about what she's gonna do with these boys.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. When you don't have a lot of content. like action content from the book you have to add. Some drama. for the film like at the end of the day it's still a film and the film needs the drama

Jordyn: And so the whole beginning of the book is basically talking about compromise. So Bella and Edward talking about. will alter in you if you marry me. He wants to...

Jordyn: you know, bribe her into an Ivy League school and pay for it and buy her a car and like all these things.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And she's like, I literally.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And all of this isn't in the film. They cut all that out, right? Like all of the her going to college stuff.

Jordyn: It's mentioned offhand a couple of times. You know, her mom, when they're visiting her mom in Florida, she's like, you know, in Alaska, you're going to be so far away. And like, there's no sun and that kind of thing.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. Oh, you're going to miss the sun. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: That's true.

Jordyn: But it's definitely less. prominent in the movie than it is in the book, which is valid because who wants to watch a movie where they just sit and fill out college applications all the time?

Jordyn: you know And then Charlie offers her a compromise of I'll lift your grounding if you. spend time to see other people besides Edward. Like if you go see Jacob, go see one of your other, he doesn't use this.

Jordyn: this word obviously, but go see one of your other human friends. Just like get some. healthy separation from Edward because ultimately Their relationship is very toxically codependent like the fact that they can't be away from each other for more than 10 seconds without getting freaked out is insane even for supernatural beings like Come on you guys.

Jordyn: But yeah, that's the compromise. And then we get some backstory of Riley Beers, who apparently they changed it up a little bit. He's actually from Forks. in this version so his The parents are going to Charlie, asking him to help them find him.

Jordyn: So we actually learned like his name and his existence before. the end of the battle versus in the book, Edward reads his mind and learns his name in that moment.

Jordyn: Edward also, you know. knows that Victoria is around that you know things are dangerous in Seattle so he purposely uh,

Jordyn: tells Charlie about the plane tickets to go see Renee in Florida to get him and Bella out of town. And this is actually like probably the only. Time that Renee actually is a parent to Bella

Jordyn: Because the whole time in the book, it's just like... how Bella became the parentified child because her mom is so scatterbrained and like, she's just going to do whatever she wants and somebody has to be the adult.

Jordyn: But we actually see Renee being like, hey. you guys are weird like it's i think the line is it's an intense thing and it's like yeah it's really intense and weird

Sarah-Daye McDougall: It's almost like I wonder, they never really get into it, but. I wonder if there's something for vampires like there is the werewolves, like the werewolves have the imprinting. uh they never really mentioned anything but their connection and you know the same thing with the other couples, although...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Rosalie does explain that she chose Emmett because he looked like the little boy. uh like he had the same dimples i think she mentions so she like kind of chose him but then they

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Also. were very compatible and so i kind of wish she gave the vampires a similar Soul matey.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: type of magical thing that the werewolves have with the imprinting just to make the Edward and Bella thing

Sarah-Daye McDougall: a little bit more. believable.

Jordyn: Well, and understandable you know like like i said their whole relationship is incredibly toxic kids this is not an example of a healthy

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm. Mm hmm.

Jordyn: relationship dynamic. Please, if you find yourself. being like this with your partner. Sick. therapy. immediately.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: one of the things chris isn't here today to shit on the story at all but one of the things in our group chat that he keeps saying is like anytime we talk about something else he will say still a better love story than twilight and like he's doing it as a joke but it's real like i mean Like you just said, this is a very toxic relationship.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And there's a lot of other books with really healthy relationships. you know we yeah we're covering it on the podcast but we're not condoning a lot of the behavior that these couples are

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Exhibiting.

Jordyn: I'm not condoning any of the... behavior. That these couples are exhibiting.

Jordyn: Like, genuinely. I think... you know Because even, you know, the vampire couples that we have, like. And especially Carlisle questions their souls.

Jordyn: Are you taking someone's soul away? So if he believes that that's what he's doing, then for him to have turned all these people is kind of messed up.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: You know, and Edward really feels that way, that he's soulless and he's damned to hell. And he's still, you know. you know setting conditions on it and trying to make her change her mind but like He's still going to do that to Bella. And it's like.

Jordyn: That's not... love like i don't i don't think so at least like i don't find that. romantic like if you like if you genuinely believe in souls and if you don't have a soul you're going to hell for eternity after you die because every no matter how immortal you are

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: Vampires can be killed.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm -hmm

Jordyn: You probably will die at some point. So...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: Like that's a messed up thing to do to somebody that you say you love.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I don't think she really thought out a lot of their like background stories because

Jordyn: No.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Even like Rosalie's. origin story is questionable because she is like i wish somebody was there to vote note for me but she doesn't seem to have any resentment towards the cullens but if she feels that strongly about Bella.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: becoming a vampire and not having a choice when she does have a choice if she wants this

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I don't know. It's just, like, why don't you have... Why are you with them? Why are you with the people that turned you?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: If you're. this upset about it.

Jordyn: That's fair. I have no idea. That's a great question

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. yeah so i just think i don't think that stephanie meyers really this is just a really surface level story there's not like you can't go deep with it

Jordyn: For sure. Yeah, I'm just for Rosalie. I'm gonna headcanon that Like she would have if Carla had been able to ask her and she would have said, no, I would rather just like regular die.

Jordyn: But I think once since he didn't ask her, she or she wasn't able to answer and she didn't have the choice.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Then when she turns, she's like, I want as much of my human, I want to keep as much of my humanity as possible. And so that's why, you know, she makes the point of saying that she has the cleanest record. She has literally never.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: tasted human blood.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: She's killed people. And they deserved it, by the way.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm. They deserved it.

Jordyn: But she has never.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yep.

Jordyn: drank any human blood ever in her vampire life.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: So, you know, which is more than Carlisle can say, more than Edward, more than any of them can say.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: So I think that is. you know and most vampires don't live like that and it i imagine it's like any other sort of

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: Like... recovery from there's like, it's easier to do that in community. Like when you have other people who understand, you know, the struggle, it's probably easier to keep on that, on that straight and narrow path, you know.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: it's true

Jordyn: when other people are going through it with you. So that's how I'm going to headcanon it. But that's a really valid question if she...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: you know hates her existence so much, why would she stay? That's a great point. Well, and since we're skipping around to people's backstories...

Jordyn: You didn't have to make Jasper a confederate.

Jordyn: You didn't have to because he also explicitly says in book and movie that bro signed up early he lied about his age and signed up voluntarily for the confederate army he was not drafted into this where like oh i didn't have a choice like it was the draft and i was gonna be you know

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: taken out back and killed if I didn't. you know go with my draft orders like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: He signed up. He was about... He was about it. He was... Team Confederacy, which is crazy work. Like, you didn't have to do that.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: That was a choice that Stephanie Meyer made. for why.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. Your guess is as good as mine.

Jordyn: Oh, I...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I can't explain anything to this woman's behavior, especially. Once you told me that she... had visions of Edward coming to her and that's how This story came to be. I can't explain anything away.

Jordyn: Yeah. Cause like, if you like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: It's a wild ride, that's for sure.

Jordyn: Like I want him to be from the south, you know, and so we can have like the you know the backstory with the newborns and the fighting and stuff like he could have migrated there from the north, you also didn't have to set it in the middle of the civil war.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Like even if you had said it. had him be there like 20 years earlier. We still know what he was about. being in the south but at least we could kind of pretend like oh maybe he was an abolitionist

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: But like when you literally say, you know, it was 1861 and he signed up early for the Confederate Army. Like, I can't. I can't defend that I'm not gonna.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: I'm not going to.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right. and especially since they're like the cullens are supposed to be The good guys.

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah, very.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Sigh.

Jordyn: very insane choice on stephanie meyers part and it really sucks because like his whole backstory with Maria and the newborn wars, you know, in Mexico and what became the United States, you know, in our South.

Jordyn: It's very interesting stuff. It's very fascinating and a really cool background for him to have. But like, why did we have to start in the Confederacy?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: well and maybe maybe this is the reason why because she wanted that story with the lady vampire And. For him to be okay with it, he had to be okay with.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: some sort of you know art like already

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Superiority.

Jordyn: Yeah, because it's I mean, it's slavery.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And so. Right.

Jordyn: you're setting them up to die.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And so, you know. Right, so... Going through that is what changed him.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And then like meeting the Cullens and being. you know, redeemed with them, like having them. Show him the other way. I mean, I guess that's where she was going like because so he wanted to be a confederate soldier that's why she was able to manipulate him in this way because he already like I said, had that.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: era of superiority. And she was able to. like use that in her manipulation and then she was saved he was saved by the Cullens and they you know showed him the better path

Jordyn: Mm -hmm.

Jordyn: Mm hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Maybe.

Jordyn: Well... That's all, yeah. I can go with that headcanon. He does walk away on his own and then it's like 100 years later that he meets Alice or some significant amount of time later that he runs into Alice and the Cullens.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Jordyn: Well, Alice first, and then the two of them go to the Cullens. But. Yeah, it's just... It's just another insane choice. Stephanie Meyer to make.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: Like, I don't know.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: reason for them to have some sort of vampire Soulmate. connection. you know, like what, you know, they found each other.

Jordyn: Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: but

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: jasper and alice so like

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: just wish that was more explicit in the book like they there's some sort of imprint chin. and printing. with vampires like there is on the werewolves.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: She does use the word mates.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mhm.

Jordyn: like james and victoria were mates and like esme and carlisle and you know all the rest of the of the cullen couples are they you know they use the word mate

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: But it's not like an ACOTAR, like Fated Mates type where, you know, there's the bond that's like, it's not.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right. Mm hmm. or at least she doesn't explain it that way she may have like intended that at one point but there's no there's not nearly enough detail for us to think it's like the imprinting because we get full on

Jordyn: It's... Right. Yes.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: exposition about that and i wish that we did i wish that she did go into more like me is like like the akatar does like a mate is like a

Jordyn: Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: bonding.

Jordyn: Yes. and it's you know a magical

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Uh -huh.

Jordyn: thing that connects you guys and so you know and like the werewolves it

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: you don't really have choice in it it just is like oh shoot that's my mate like that's crazy and so we hear about how some of these werewolves you know they thought it was very rare for a wolf to imprint on somebody but imprint relationships are popping up left and right.

Jordyn: And.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Poor Jacob. He tries so hard.

Jordyn: Poor Jacob.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Like the one moment, I think it's this book where he's like. staring at her and she's like what the fuck are you doing and like like we as readers are like always trying to imprint on her

Jordyn: Yeah. What are you doing?

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Oh, sweet little Jacob.

Jordyn: Yeah, well and we get our first introduction of child imprinting in this book. I think it's Embry.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right the two -year -old

Jordyn: Yeah, I think Embry has imprinted on a two -year -old. explains well It's not an explanation or a justification, but it's a way to make it make sense, I guess, is that while the wolves are consistently phasing in and out of wolfness.

Jordyn: they are immortal they pause or they they pause their aging

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mhm. They stop raging. Yeah.

Jordyn: Right. And so like that's if they just are a wolf. you know, not even all the time, but like frequently. They'll they pause their aging allowing whoever they've imprinted on to catch up with them basically and then they can Stop.

Jordyn: being a wolf and then age with that person, you know, in a normal way.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: doesn't change the fact that it's incredibly predatory. to have this older male around you from the time that you're two years old or literally born.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: and he's just kind of he's not related to you and he's just kind of always there

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well, not even boring because... Correct me if I'm wrong. You've read these. way more than i have and seen them i'm sure But. Don't they say in Breaking Dawn that the reason Jacob was so attracted to Bella was because Like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: She had Renesmee like in her.

Jordyn: That's a theory that... that the characters have and that the fans definitely have and so that's also why like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Got it. Okay

Jordyn: we feel like Jacob's attraction to Bella gets stronger from book one throughout because like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: the Renesmee. egg is getting closer and closer to dropping and so it's like becoming more like i'm not

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Hmm. It is.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: you know yeah it's getting close the time is is getting closer and so his attraction to her is getting stronger.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Is growing. Interesting. Yeah. So weird.

Jordyn: But that's...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: So weird.

Jordyn: I don't know that Stephanie Meyer has confirmed that.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: has confirmed that.

Jordyn: But that's like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Got it.

Jordyn: I know that the fandom had canons that, and I'm pretty sure in the movie for Breaking Dawn, they...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mention it.

Jordyn: they theorize that as well.

Jordyn: Alright, we've been skipping around a little bit. Let's backtrack.

Jordyn: A lot of the other changes that we have are like... Timing changes. So again like learning who Riley is in the beginning. And then Jacob telling Bella that Seth and Leah have joined the pack at the bonfire scene instead of it being a surprise during the training scene where you see the full pack show up for the first time.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm -hmm

Jordyn: And Bella's like, holy crap, there's 10 of them now. and trying to figure out where they all came from. And then... the scene where Jacob shows up at their school, and then Bella leaves with him.

Jordyn: There's actually two different scenes in the book. There's the first time where he comes to give the warning.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: about like crossing the boundary line and, you know. You guys can just stay on your side of the line, whatever. We actually get to see that scene happen because, again, the magic of film, you can see different POVs.

Jordyn: So we actually get to watch them chasing Victoria back and forth over the boundary line.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: which is some good action to have in this actionless story.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yep,

Jordyn: And... The first time in the book that Jacob comes to the school, that's it. They have the warning.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Jacob calls out the fact that Edward is lying to Bella and keeping things from her, what she hates. I'm just trying to protect you. Same old story with Edward. He's just trying to protect her by lying to her and not telling her the whole truth about things.

Jordyn: And that's combined with the second scene in the book. where edward has to go hunt and so he you know forces Bella to be basically kidnapped by Alice and they're having a sleepover slumber party but like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: It's babysitting.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right. Yeah.

Jordyn: And. Bella is trying to think of ways to get down to La Push to visit Jacob but she can't because she's with Alice and Alice will as soon as Alice can't see Bella's future she'll know that she's thinking of the wolves And then.

Jordyn: Jacob must be having the same thoughts. He shows up. She jumps on the bike, says, sorry, Alice, I know Edward's going to be pissed at you, but I want to go. So bye.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mhm.

Jordyn: And they take off. versus the movie they just combine that all into one and she leaves with Jacob right in front of Edward which I think is even funnier. Because then it's like, screw you, Edward. I want to go with Jacob.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well, and also... punishment's not really the right word, but she's like, We just caught you in a lie. You're lying to me. You're not telling me everything. jacob's going to you know and like again also like you can't keep me from my friends so

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Off she goes.

Jordyn: Yeah. And. again, like I... Understand Edward's concern. that like the young the young werewolves like can't control their tempers and they might hurt her like I get it, but it also, like you said, is very...

Jordyn: abuser. very toxic like you know you can't hang out with other guys you can't hang out with your friends like trying to make himself this like in another story he's an abuser and he's trying to keep himself the center of her world and not let her have attachments with other people to isolate her so he can abuse her like in another version of this like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. Mm -hmm Right.

Jordyn: Again, this is a very toxic relationship, kids. Please do not try and copy this. It will not end well for you, probably. Anyways, so we get.

Jordyn: uh she's at the bonfire we get the story of Chief Taha 'aki and the Cold Ones and the Third Wife, which again, like you said, is much more expanded upon in the book we get like There's a whole other chief who like possessed the his the real chief's body and like was being a tyrant and so it like explained It's a whole thing.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: It's kind of the origin of the werewolf.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Curse is not the right word, but I don't know what else to...

Jordyn: I just call it magic.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Put it. yeah the werewolf magic like it's the origin of that because he was able to like meditate and leave his body and that's when the other guy like Took it.

Jordyn: the werewolf magic.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: So he's stuck and he's just like.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: soul is just like floating around

Jordyn: In the spirit world, yeah. There's like the real...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. And he can see all this happening.

Jordyn: Yeah. yeah there's like the regular world and the spirit world And they can like. they're called they call them spirit warriors who they leave their bodies fight

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm -hmm

Jordyn: enemies in the spirit realm come back to their bodies. And then this. Jealous. guy takes over the chief's spot possesses the chief's body and is terrible takes on extra wives when you know and does polygamy which is not something that is normal in this tribe

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Jordyn: And then the real chief is just stuck. you know wandering around the spirit world watching what's happening to his family and his tribe and he can't do anything until he meets a wolf and you know he communicates with the wolf in the spirit realm and they decide to share the wolf's body

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And then he... That is the first. wolf human combo and then he's able to transform from a wolf into a new body that reflects his spirit self and that's how the tribe recognizes who he is

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And they're like, oh my God, it's an imposter. And so then that's that. So then he. becomes achieved. And he can phase in and out. And then his bloodline.

Jordyn: his sons can also willfully change between human and wolf.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And then he becomes. unaging as he or ages much slower as he can phase between human and wolf and then the cold ones come They kill the man.

Jordyn: The woman seeks revenge. and he all the other wolves have been killed by by her. He's the last one.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well, and before we get into that. last skirmish with the female vampire They. realized that the they tore the male vampire apart.

Jordyn: Okay.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And. They realized that he was trying to connect himself.

Jordyn: Mm -hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: So they burnt him. And then. separate the ashes and they have a pouch with the ashes and they pull it out at the campfire which is completely cut from the film as far as I can remember and so like they just kind of skip all of that and go straight into the vampires coming and attacking and

Jordyn: Yes. Yep. Yep. Yes.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: the third wife. sacrificing herself.

Jordyn: Yes. Yeah, which I think

Jordyn: I get it for like time's sake of the movie.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: But from the point of... like continuing to take advantage of the Hewlett tribe IRL and their actual legends and histories and then not giving them

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: the opportunity to tell their full story tribal story.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Don't love that. That's done.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: That's not great.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: It would have been really cool to open up the movie.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: with this like not so much at the campfire telling the story but us seeing it like play out or maybe even having like if we could go back in time and fix that let them get the credit and have an actual tribe member telling the story as like narration over it happening on screen and that's kind of how we open up this movie

Jordyn: Mm -hmm.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah.

Jordyn: Hehe.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: and then go into the rest of the story.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Because, again, like, I mean. They probably added a lot of stuff that didn't need to be in the film. And we could have had more of this backstory stuff.

Jordyn: Yeah. For sure. Oh, I mean, we talked about a little bit, but like all of the scenes of actually watching Victoria and Riley build their army, the extra scene with the Volturi in Seattle, like watching these newborns wreak havoc, like none of that.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: was explicitly in the book where like they're copying it line for line scene for scene like so those things you're right you're absolutely right those things could have been taken out we could have been left with the regular

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: mystery of what's going on in Seattle. you know, the scene of Charlie talking to Riley's parents. didn't happen. Riley wasn't thumb forks in the book.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: Like there's a lot of these things that definitely could have been taken out to give more space for. the actual tribe members to talk about their actual legends and give like credit in that way and they just decided not to do that.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Jordyn: and that's not Awesome.

Jordyn: But yeah, so we get the... The third wife. The last wolf is fighting the last vampire and the third wife has to sacrifice herself to distract.

Jordyn: the vampire so that the wolf can win. And Bella is like obsessed with this story. She's like, oh my gosh. i could be the third wife i could you know help even though i'm not magical at all like i'm just a human and i she's still you know help save everybody. And I can do that too. And it's very like.

Jordyn: Like, yeah, you could, but it also... you're you and you're really probably just going to cause more problems than anything else, respectfully.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Hmph. Although that is exactly what happens.

Jordyn: Although, you know... If there's one thing Stephanie Meyer loves to do, it's foreshadow and follow through.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Foreshadow. Yep.

Jordyn: And follow through, right?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Like she will foreshadow something and then... She follows through, for better or worse, she does that.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mhm.

Jordyn: Yeah, we'll get down to that in a little bit. With Rosalie's backstory, I know we already talked about her actual story.

Jordyn: I don't like the change of bella going to her and saying like i don't know what i did to make you hate me and then rosalie explaining Versus in the book, Rosalie seeks out Bella and is like, hey, like.

Jordyn: I know I've been terrible to you. I just want to A, apologize and B, explain myself.

Jordyn: And that's how we get. her telling her story and I think

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Jordyn: The way that the movie does it is a disservice to Rosalie because she still is very standoffish and like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well the

Jordyn: mean And she doesn't get that like. No, I recognize that I... acted poorly and I am trying to make amends for it.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right, and? They cut out the child portion of it. like she they do mention that she would have liked to see children and she can't do that but there is a whole her best friend had a child first and she was very jealous and that's that jealousy That I think blinds her to how red flaggy The fiance is. But... That also.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: plays into the next book so much when

Sarah-Daye McDougall: renez may comes into the picture and how protective she is of renez may and it also gives so much credence to why she doesn't want bella to become

Sarah-Daye McDougall: A vampire? And they cut all that out.

Jordyn: Yep.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: You don't... Why give us the backstory in the movie if you leave out that really pivotal point that she can't have kids?

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. they also leave out you know Bella talks about how like she can see a future with Jacob and she sees two little black haired kids running around.

Jordyn: so like Bella. Bella's not against having kids like it's she's 18 so all she can focus on is not getting older and like becoming immortal and like edward

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: But. She hasn't thought about, do I want kids? Do I not want kids? If I become a vampire, I can't. What does that mean for me? Do I care? Does that matter to me? Is that something important that I'm sacrificing to become immortal at this particular age?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: you know. Rosalie is the only one to be like, hey. there's a lot that you're sacrificing like yeah you're gonna gain a lot of being immortal being able to be with edward forever but you are losing a lot like you can't be around your parents anymore probably because you

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm -hmm

Jordyn: And that's the other thing is we're... Or I... YouTube, but like... The audience. who's rereading and rewatching knows that Bella doesn't actually struggle with the unquenchable thirst for human blood. Like she very, she's very easily able to. control that.

Jordyn: that urge when she becomes a vampire.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: So the whole thing is like, I'm never going to see my dad again. I'm never going to see my mom again. Like, I am going to want to hurt them. I'm going to. They're going to know that I'm different and I can't be around them. So it's like.

Jordyn: Every time you say goodbye could be the last time that you say goodbye, the last time that you see somebody. But like... I know like it's going to be fine. Like you're going to see your mom and dad again. Like it's going to be okay.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: But... It's a real thing that... whatever human relationships you have including being a mother you cannot have them once you're a vampire and are you bella really considering

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: that those impacts long term are you really going to be happy for the rest of your life not having gone down that path and she really is not thinking about it at all.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right. But, I mean... I... Agreed. But also... Edward is 17. Like he, he stuck at. age 17.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: so She's not wrong where... She can't. age too much because And it's not even about. being too old to have kids it's about at one at some point if he's still stuck in a 17 year old body and then she's in a 25 year old body or whatever have you

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: You know, it's not going to be perceived.

Jordyn: Looks weird.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: well right So.

Jordyn: Yeah, it looks weird.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: you know, she's really not wrong about wanting to be in a 17 or 18 year old body or 19 year old body.

Jordyn: Yeah. Totally. for sure.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: But yeah, she's stuck in a rock and a hard place here because.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: right she is only 18 she's not thinking about these things what 18 year old is thinking about wanting to start a family at that age, you know?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: So. But then again, like... on the flip side she can't she doesn't want to and i think i don't think she's ever mentioned that but like that is something to consider like i can't be a 25 year old

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: dating a 17 year old.

Jordyn: Yeah. Totally. Totally.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Even though he's really 103.

Jordyn: Yeah, which is why I don't Within the lore of this, and most vampire lore, it totally makes sense that you're frozen at whatever age you get turned.

Jordyn: I think I've just gotten. This makes me appreciate like modern. fantasy, like supernatural beings like the Fae. more because they also are immortal and have these special powers and stuff but they There is a maturation. that they go through where they reach like Peak.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: like appearance of like they look like they're a solid you know 30 years old like they look like full -grown adults while still being able to be immortal and stuff and live for hundreds of years.

Jordyn: And I think like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: That. which this story doesn't exist if you don't have that time pressure on bella of like it has to be before i turn 19 or has to be as soon as possible like It's a completely different story if you take away that lore.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: I just... find myself more and more being like, they're so young. They're so, so young to be making these permanent decisions for themselves.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: we i like joked about it last time but like nobody's brain is developed here

Sarah-Daye McDougall: No.

Jordyn: Like, I think even Carlisle is like. around. 25 -ish. But like, none of these vampires have fully developed brains before they were turned. So they're stuck in a 17 -year -old's...

Jordyn: like mindset. forever. That sucks. Do not sign me up for that. If I got turned into a vampire now,

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: 28? Shut up. That's one thing. 17, 18 year old Jordan? No ma 'am.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: No, I know.

Jordyn: That's a hard pass.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. Yeah. I mean.

Jordyn: It was...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: No, I don't think anybody wants to stay at their 17 year old versions of themselves, but you know, Stephanie Meyer does make Bella.

Jordyn: So stupid.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mature and Edward for that matter too.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: you know with him being really into the classical music and that kind of thing and she appreciates that and

Jordyn: That's his music.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. so like there's still

Jordyn: He was there when it was written.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Like you might like there's still maturity that you get from being 100 years old, even though your brain is stuck at.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: 17 year olds.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: years old.

Jordyn: Totally.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: you know. Bleh. Stephanie Meyer doesn't go into the science behind it too, too much, but.

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: You know, she doesn't really, again, like I said earlier, she doesn't really think a lot of this stuff through. She just does it. And it's a very surface level.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: story we can't we can't start thinking about all this stuff

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah. If I think. This is probably not great that I'm thinking about Twilight so much because I'm going to start liking it less and less.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Chris will be thrilled.

Jordyn: I probably...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Wait, wait, we have to send him the recording.

Jordyn: Leave me. No, just leave me in my blissful nostalgia.

Jordyn: Please. Gosh, okay. I mean, plot wise there's that's pretty much it as far as like things that happen and then we get into like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: The final battle.

Jordyn: preparing for the battle, looping in the werewolves, you know, working together. instead of against each other you know asking There's a mention in the book of them calling.

Jordyn: the Alaska vampires and asking for help, but one of them had a fling with Laurent and so they're pissed at the wolves.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Uh.

Jordyn: And so they're like, if you let me. if you let us attack the wolves and get revenge for Laurent then we'll join you otherwise piss off And they're like. No.

Jordyn: We have a truce with them.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: We're not doing that. So then they end up going to the wolves and being like, hey, can you guys help us with this? And the wolves are like, hell yeah, brother. We can finally kill some vampires. We're stoked.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well and is it so listeners uh my

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Audiobook subscription. uh failed to renew and i was only halfway through the book so jordan In.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: The movie. It's... Jacob. is at the party. Right.

Jordyn: mm -hmm

Sarah-Daye McDougall: The graduation party when.

Jordyn: Mm hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: alice has a vision and they're all like oh like victoria's coming or whoever whatever's happening and that's what he like fights for the werewolves to be a part of this right

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Is that the same in the book?

Jordyn: Pretty much. The party looks lamer in the movie than how it's described in the book.

Jordyn: I love it.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: But... Key point being like, is it Jacob that like has the werewolves?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Okay.

Jordyn: Edwards there reading his mind reading his thoughts and Like.

Jordyn: They're like, oh, that's actually a good idea, Jacob. You know, like Edward trying to be all respectful and stuff because he. jacobs bella's friend but yeah they they together are like you know There's a lot of vampires in Seattle and they're going to come here for Bella.

Jordyn: And we need. numbers and Jacob's like We'll fight the vampires. let me go talk to sam so then they leave they talk to sam they agree to come back to me at whatever time and place.

Jordyn: And that's when you get like the training session. from Jasper.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Jasper explains. about newborns, how to fight them. Yeah, there's actually I think a total of like two or three training sessions that everybody goes to.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah, and that's...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Which makes more sense than just the...

Jordyn: Yeah. Just the one.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Little montage we got.

Jordyn: Yeah. yeah and then it's like oh they're coming they're here and then they leave the trail. Bella leaves a trail to get them where they want them, but then there's the other trail of Jacob. carrying her and that edward meets them and then you get the mountain top conversation.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: I think it's hilarious how in the book. Like in the movie, Bella's just asleep and it's a movie. So we can just, as viewers, we can just hear their conversation and it's whatever.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: It's hilarious in the book how Bella is like half asleep and she thinks she's lucid dreaming the entire thing.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: which it's established that Bella has incredibly vivid dreams. So it's not like within the context, it's like not that surprising that she would think it's a dream.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: It's just hilarious because it's like. That's ridiculous for you to like legitimately believe that you're dreaming right now. be. Come on. Whatever. But that conversation is very accurate to the book, the two of them.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: you know discussing bella and what's best what they think is best for her even though nobody wants to ever ask her what she thinks is best for her jacob pleading his case you know i think i'm better for her i can protect her just as well as you can keep her safe i can give her a full

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: life a full human experience we can get married we can have kids we can do all of she doesn't have to leave her family or her other friends what few of them there are you know I could be better for her. And Edward's like,

Jordyn: Yeah. You might be. But. Ultimately, I'm selfish and I don't want to lose her. Now, Edward. I guess to his credit, it still feels somehow manipulative. But Edward is like, if she chooses you, I'll leave. Like. You can have her. You win. Like, that's fine.

Jordyn: But until she tells me to leave, I am not going anywhere. And Jacob's like, well, I'm not going anywhere either.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: And so then like, okay, so we're at the same impasse we were 20 minutes ago where both of you guys want her. and are forcing her to choose and you know she bella has made it incredibly clear

Sarah-Daye McDougall: But it's like, it's not even. Yeah, yeah. Bleh. It's not even a choice. Like, they're not forcing her to choose.

Jordyn: Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: She's already chosen. She's already told them multiple times, both of them.

Jordyn: Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: multiple times that she's choosing Edward.

Jordyn: Yeah. Right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: But Jacob is, I mean. Jacob, my baby boy. I was just so in love with her.

Jordyn: Yeah. This is this is his

Jordyn: This is probably his worst. well

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: I don't know. Unfortunately I would love if Twilight was just a duology and it was just Twilight and New Moon. and it ended and like yeah you can still go and see it

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Like she turns into a vampire at the end.

Jordyn: Like, you could still, yeah. basically like let's just skip all this nonsense in the middle turn her into a vampire call it a done deal because then like jacob's

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: character. doesn't disintegrate. through book three and four.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: because he which and like the imprinting on Renesmee in book four is not his fault like obviously like Stephanie Meyer wrote that which is

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: Crazy work. But like... That happens, which everybody hates. We hate that it... We hate that he imprints on a newborn. We hate that.

Jordyn: It's Bella's child and he's still so attached to her and he can't be free of them. there's a lot to hate there but i hate this book for jacob And how manipulative he is and like abusive he is to Bella and talk emotionally abusive to her and like toxic and.

Jordyn: you know forcing her to choose and not taking no for an answer like dude she i don't know how many times she has to tell you she doesn't love you that way

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: before it gets through your thick werewolf skull but then he gets the vindication of being right because she does admit that she's in love with him too and kiss me jacob so you don't go and kill yourself like

Jordyn: Ugh, it's really bad actually.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Does she say I love you in the book like that? Or does she say like, because

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: From what I have... remember so far is that She does love him, but not.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: in love with him

Jordyn: She admits in the book that she is in love with Edward and Jacob. She says she loves both of them, but she loves Edward more. And that's what they also say in the mountaintop is that they're like, you know.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: In the movie?

Jordyn: uh yeah she'll choose whichever one of us she can't live without

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well, no, does she say it in the movie?

Jordyn: I think so. Yeah. Because she says... i remember in the movie she tells edward i love you more

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Which I hate because... She... I just had this like epiphany. Stephanie Myers. Has already established. That Bella. Can live without Edward.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: and she cannot live without

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Check out.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: so She... What? BAH! She just contradicted herself.

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Ugh.

Jordyn: Well, yeah

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Hate it. Eat it.

Jordyn: Exactly. Because she did live without Edward for like almost a whole year.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yes. And who made you feel better? Check out.

Jordyn: Jacob! Jacob stitched her up.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yep.

Jordyn: Well, and that's something that Charlie actually says.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: She just wants to be a vampire, stupid Bella.

Jordyn: And that's ultimately the crux of everything is Bella just really, really, really wants to be a vampire.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: That's it. Like, I think, like, it's not said, like, it's always all about how much she loves Edward and she wants to spend eternity with Edward.

Jordyn: But it's really more about the spending eternity part.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: that is more important to her than the with Edward part.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. Agreed. 100%.

Jordyn: but Yeah. So. I don't know.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Carry on let's carry on.

Jordyn: I hate the character assassination of... Jacob.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Jacob. Yeah, me too.

Jordyn: Because New Moon Jacob is not doing this to Bella. Newman Jake, like, this is...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well, and he did get.

Jordyn: Not my Jacob.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: well he was transforming into the werewolf but he did get a little defensive at the movie theater when like with the whole mic stuff but yeah you know we can blame that on the werewolf transformation

Jordyn: Yes.

Jordyn: well, and even that like To me, like, he's... jealous and he has a crush on her at the time he still is is pre -werewolf so he isn't physically aged at all so he's like a 16 year old kid you know or 15 16 years old So he's young and immature and like, okay, he's not handling the situation well.

Jordyn: Like I can get past it's.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Jordyn: not great. It's maybe a foreshadowing thing or a red flag of his possessiveness and over -attachment to her. But I can get past that. But now he like...

Jordyn: Because they say physically the wolf transformation ages them, so he's really more like 25 -ish now, or at least physically he appears to be 25.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Well his body, yeah, yeah. Mhm.

Jordyn: But I'm like... That doesn't mean that his brain is. His brain is still 16 years old.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right. Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And I just. I really... we don't get a lot of billy black but i don't think that billy black and Jacob's two older sisters, by the way, would have raised.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: him and allowed him to

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: be the type of guy who does this to a woman. That just doesn't sit right with me. I don't believe that that's that that feels

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: very out of character. even though it's right there in the text. I don't know what Stephanie Meyer was doing. Not my Jacob.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. Wow.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: She's not a great author.

Jordyn: No, not at all. And in the movie, too. her the kiss with her and Jacob like that the big the big one He doesn't even manipulate her. She just... says it.

Jordyn: Like he, it's not a... It's not an ultimatum. It's not as an explicit of an ultimatum. in the movie as it was in the book like in the book he pretty much literally says I'm going to go and allow myself to be killed in this battle unless you give me permission to kiss you.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And she does. And then she's like, oh, my God, I actually do. I actually am in love with him. That's so crazy. I didn't know it. Versus the movie, he's just talking about, you know.

Jordyn: There's a lot can happen in a battle and she's like Jacob kiss me just kiss me jacob and it's like How is that going to fix anything? How is that going to stop anything? Like he...

Jordyn: I don't know. I don't like it.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: No, she doesn't think things through. Yeah.

Jordyn: No, she never does I don't like it. It's like, it's disgusting for Jacob in the book to have manipulated her into doing it to get his way. Like that's. horrifying.

Jordyn: But this... is For Bella's character, this is worse. For her to just randomly... ask him to kiss her without that ultimatum is like girl what are you doing I thought we loved Edward. Why are we like this?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I mean... You do see the panic. And it's like a latch last ditch effort to get him to stay. Like she knows they've already had the one kiss where she punched him and broke her hand. So she's like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: obviously he wants to kiss me so Let me just do anything in my power. Keep him safe.

Jordyn: Yeah. But then she lets him go anyways, so it's like, what was the point?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: she doesn't let him go be bright for me he's gonna go so she just has to accept it even though It was more of a goodbye kiss than anything else.

Jordyn: I guess. That was a really intense goodbye kiss. I made a note while I was watching it. It's like her. behavior is somehow worse without knowing her inner monologue.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Jordyn: than it is knowing it like because her end of the monologue is

Jordyn: crazy. And it's so angsty and it's... you know i love i love jacob i can't live without him but i don't want to hurt him like should i force distance between us or should i keep him close i don't know and then same thing with edward like i don't want to hurt edward i'm never going to cry over jacob again because it hurts edward when i do that and then two seconds later she's crying over jacob and hurting, like...

Jordyn: It... which is really annoying and frustrating. but somehow like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: without without having that. It's worse. Because it just like makes. less sense because it's not being explained. I don't know how. I don't know how I can watch the movie and be like God I wish some of the writing was included in this.

Jordyn: Insane.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: The more I think about it, though, the more I... Like, I'm glad that we had this conversation today because I'm convinced she actually does love Jacob. And she just loves the idea of Edward and being a vampire.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And that is what wins out.

Jordyn: I think... Yeah. I think if she could somehow...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Have both.

Jordyn: Well... A, have both. If this was written 20 years later, it would have been a wide choose and she would have had both of them.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Hmm.

Jordyn: that's Separate. I'm sure that's been written somewhere on AO3 or Wattpad or whatever. I forgot what I was gonna say. Yeah. I...

Jordyn: Don't know. Anyways.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Final battle.

Jordyn: Final battle!

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Edward wins.

Jordyn: Edward beats Victoria. Seth helps. They take out Riley and Victoria. They have to run back down the mountain. to get with the family before the Volturi arrive.

Jordyn: This part doesn't make sense to me. Maybe you can help me headcanon it. They're like, oh, the pack has to leave before the Volturi get here. because they won't honor a truce with the werewolves.

Jordyn: totally real, totally valid. They're gonna smell them.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: They're gonna smell the werewolves. everywhere and that battlefield. they're gonna know they were there like i guess they can chalk it up to just being wolves in the air a high traffic wolf area but like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: No, I'm sure they... I'm sure they...

Jordyn: Come on.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: can smell them and know that there are wolves there but they're not physically there anymore they're not gonna go hunt him down just because like the I think like the Volteria to like.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: High and mighty to go chasing.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Something. So like if they were there though, like they would be like, Ooh, we'll have snack.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yum.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Did that help at all?

Jordyn: Yeah. I guess I just like, I feel like. the werewolves would smell different than a real, like a true wolf.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: No, yeah, but I'm saying I don't think they're going to go chase him down.

Jordyn: And so why would they not be suspicious?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: No, well, why didn't they ask, like, why do you have werewolves here?

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: They probably don't care.

Jordyn: Whoa, why? Yeah, I guess I guess, yeah. I just like to not even acknowledge the insane.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. think they were just too worried about like a covering up they knew about victoria b killing the little newborn that was there that the colons wanted to adopt and just like being

Jordyn: Because apparently they smell

Jordyn: mm -hmm Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: maintaining the... illusion that they're in control.

Jordyn: That's fair. I'll give it to him.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Thank you.

Jordyn: The movie also changes where we see Jacob get hurt. versus in the book we just hear him

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: screaming howling when he gets hurt and Edward has to read Seth's thoughts and explain what happened to Bella.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: I guess it's like more emotional to actually watch it happen and watch her freak out about it. But that like emotion is immediately negated because then she has to just stand there while the Volturi come and she can't like.

Jordyn: Like... in both situations she has to just hear about you know

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: learn about it and then not do anything. So it's like. I guess we just wanted to give Taylor Lautner an opportunity to show some dramatic acting. roll around on the ground.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: and you tend to be in pain.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: When it's a film, it's all about the drama. You need to be able to see the drama and not be told the drama.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: It's a visual medium.

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah. So, and I I'm... I'll have to see when I reread Breaking Dawn this coming week.

Jordyn: what Leah Clearwater is like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: So much Twilight.

Jordyn: So much to my life.

Jordyn: Because her, like... arrogance here and i was like jacob i had it it's like you were about to die that vampire had his arms around your neck girl he was about to snap your neck and you were gonna die if jacob hadn't saved you shut up And so I like, I'm curious to see if she, if her characters actually like that.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: the book because I know she's very snarky and like

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Hmm.

Jordyn: has a lot going on like obviously the whole thing with Sam and Emily and then her dad just died like she has a lot going on but I don't remember clearly if she is

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: that kind of like arrogant. disrespectful. Rude. in the books or if this was a movie version of her that got brought out.

Jordyn: It's a little... I'll update you guys next week We also get to listen as Carlisle re -breaks all of Jacob's bones to set them properly because they have

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: super fast healing powers along with the wolf powers and so they were healing really fast but they were healing wrong so carl had to fix it

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: And like, we know that the. obviously the wolves and the vampires. have beef just because of their nature but i think it's I found it very sweet when...

Jordyn: Carlisle finishes. with Jacob and he comes out and Billy actually shakes his hand.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: there's more of it in the book but like billy Billy Black is very prejudiced against the Cullens.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And even to the point where Charlie notices it.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: yeah yeah yeah

Jordyn: Charlie doesn't notice much, but he knows that.

Jordyn: he knows that the tribe hates the Cullens and even though Carlisle's the best doctor in town and he could be you know he could be working in Seattle or like a much bigger

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: hospital. They chose Forks and the town is very lucky to have Dr. Carlisle.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm -hmm

Jordyn: And he's never understood why, you know. why Billy doesn't like him. And so to see. that moment of Billie being like... And all of them, to be fair, on both sides to kind of get over their prejudices and work together in the fight. to like shake his hand and say thank you for you know for helping my son was very sweet. I liked it. I like that part

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: That's good. And that's pretty much it like Jacob continues to get pissy and he finally tells like gives up and tells Bella like He needs some space.

Jordyn: and to not, you know. Kind of leave me alone, don't come around.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: don't don't talk to me as much she I think is going to respect that. we get a little bit more Set up for the next one with like the wedding and stuff We shall get the...

Jordyn: I think it's a funny line, but Bella tells Edward, we have to do something super dangerous. You have to tell Charlie that we're getting married.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yes. which I think is funny. And then. They send the invitations out and the book ends with. I think the way I'm understanding it is Bella wasn't going to invite Jacob to the wedding because she thought it would upset him too much. She didn't want to hurt him that way.

Jordyn: Edward takes it upon himself to invite Jacob. You know, and he writes in the book, he writes in his letter, you know, if the roles were reversed, I would want the choice if I was going to show up.

Jordyn: to your wedding or not so here's The invitation is your choice. And then Jacob. The last chapter of the book, that blog, is actually from Jacob's point of view.

Jordyn: He gets this letter. He reads it. He takes off. As a wolf, he just starts running.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: and You know, Quill and Embry are like, hey, Jake, we're so sorry. Let us come with you.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: Sam tells them to back off. Sam, you know Take all the time you need.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Don't we see? Do we see that? in the beginning. Like I feel like, isn't it like raining? And you see him get the invitation. Is that how the movie opens? The next one? Am I making this all up?

Jordyn: mm -hmm I think you're right.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: yeah i just remember him like running in the rain being all sad and mopey about the invitation okay

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah, no, so he that definitely happened

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Great. Can't wait to watch these next two movies.

Jordyn: Hooray! Yeah, no, he definitely does that, and he disappears. It's not that long because this one happens in June. The wedding is August 13th.

Jordyn: So but it's probably like a solid month and a half ish.

Jordyn: That he is gone uh and then the next book he explains like he was just rolling around Canada or something. He's just, you know.

Jordyn: being being alone and wolfy and gathering his thoughts

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: Set up for the next one that I forgot to mention is Jacob actually. is supposed to be the alpha of the pack. And Sam.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: offers it to him. Sam's like, hey, you know, you're of the bloodline. You're the biggest, the strongest, like you're supposed to be the alpha. you know here you go. And Jacob's like, nah.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: mm -hmm

Jordyn: I'm not about that. You can have it. You can do it.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: which comes into play in the next one.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I do not remember anything about that, so I'm excited to revisit that.

Jordyn: Yeah. But it's... I like how it goes down in the next one, but it's... fascinating because even Here. Jacob tells Bella himself in the movie.

Jordyn: that he was supposed to be the alpha.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: but in the book Edward reads his mind and Edward is the one who tells Bella. so i just think it's funny like what they each choose to keep.

Jordyn: secret from her like edward's always lying to her about like things that impact her safety and like no don't worry victoria's not here like it's fine like it's not it's definitely not a you know a bunch of newborn vampires in seattle like it's fine bella don't we're just gonna go to florida see your mom like don't worry about it

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: And then Jacob's like, no, it's totally vampires. And the redhead is back and like telling her all this stuff about her. safety so she's aware of what's going on around her

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: But then I'm not going to tell you that I'm the alpha.

Jordyn: for why who knows he just did because it doesn't matter because i'm not the alpha it's like Yeah, but it's still kind of a big...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: deal that like you are that powerful inherently like you

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: Bar. Because it's, I think they're described too, like. Jacob's wolf is just as big, if not bigger than Sam's.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Mm hmm.

Jordyn: And they're the two biggest ones. So it's like.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: it's kind of important to note that you you know and he's the number two in the pack still so like The wolf hierarchy is fascinating.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah.

Jordyn: It would be nice to know but whatever.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Right.

Jordyn: And that's it. That's Eclipse.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And that's Eclipse. Yeah, I think we'll have a lot more to talk about for Breaking Dawn.

Jordyn: somehow still emerged.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Especially since it's split into two movies.

Jordyn: Yes, both movements. And yeah, I've watched both movies. That should be interesting. Yeah, we'll see how it goes Yeah. uh be sure to like and subscribe follow us on all the things comment let us know which twilight is your favorite I think At this point, I'm still saying that New Moon is my favorite.

Jordyn: but we'll see once we get through breaking down.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I think so Yeah. And from what I remember of Breaking Dawn.

Jordyn: There's just...

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I don't think it will surpass new moon for me and again i think it's just the werewolves i think i'm in general more interested in werewolves obviously i'm team jacob so i think all in all like new moon is just better for what I am interested in.

Jordyn: Yeah.

Jordyn: Yeah. Yeah, let us know which one is your favorite and then tune in next week. where we're gonna have breaking down.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: And a guest host.

Jordyn: And I guess tell us, yes, my dear friend is going to join us. When I told her I was... Just going to start doing a podcast. The first two things she asked me were, when are you doing Harry Potter and when are you doing Twilight?

Jordyn: So we're finally doing Twilight. So she's going to come on and join us for Breaking Dawn. And yeah. Any final thoughts?

Sarah-Daye McDougall: No. I'm just. We have a lot of content to get through in the next week.

Jordyn: Yes, I gotta... not procrastinate so much.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Especially since we are recording on Saturday instead. I lose. I lose a day. of reading.

Jordyn: Yes, yeah Yeah, I got to start breaking down today or I'll never finish everything in time.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I had to switch over.

Jordyn: She's a big girl. That's a big book, too.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: It's a big book and it's two movies. We've got a lot of content to cover in five days.

Jordyn: Yes. Yep.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: We can do it.

Jordyn: Alright, well... Yes, yes, we can we can and we will for the people the people are screaming for more Twilight

Sarah-Daye McDougall: You will.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: I didn't let us know. Are you screaming for more Twilight?

Jordyn: No, Stephanie Meyer, this is not an invitation.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Eh.

Jordyn: Nobody is screaming for more Twilight, even me. a fan, please.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: The Twilight fan of the pod.

Jordyn: Yeah, please Okay.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: All right.

Jordyn: All right. Anyways, we'll see you guys next week.

Sarah-Daye McDougall: Bye.

Jordyn: Cheers!
