Speaker: Welcome to the Solarpreneur Podcast where we teach you to take your solar business to the next level.
Speaker: My name is Taylor Armstrong.
Speaker: I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in a year and cracking the code on why sales reps fell.
Speaker: I teach you to avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads, falling up like a pro and closing more deals.
Speaker: What is a Solarpreneur you might ask?
Speaker: A Solarpreneur is a new breed of Solar Pro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery and you are about to become one.
Speaker: What's up, solopreneurs?
Speaker: Taylor Armstrong here with another episode.
Speaker: As usual, we're here to help you close more deals, generate more leads and referrals, and hopefully have a much better time in the solar industry.
Speaker: Hope you're doing well.
Speaker: Hope you're having a great end to the summer months here.
Speaker: And this episode, we're just going to talk a little bit about the Noxstar program.
Speaker: If you have not heard of Noxstar, you're probably pretty new to door-to-door sales or solar because they've been blown up.
Speaker: A lot of people have gone through the program, including yours truly.
Speaker: So I'm going to give you my honest opinion, my honest review, the good and the bad, and we're going to dive into it.
Speaker: So if you've been thinking about joining Noxstar or if you are currently in the university, have access to the videos, I'm going to tell you what their specific training programs, their platforms are, and tell you my honest opinion.
Speaker: The reason I'm doing this, we actually have one of Noxstar's founders.
Speaker: His name's Danny Pesci.
Speaker: He's coming back on the podcast for the second time next episode.
Speaker: So you're not going to want to miss out.
Speaker: He's going to give a lot more updates, tell you what's new in Noxstar, and drop some fire as usual.
Speaker: So just thought it'd be a good time to give you my feedback of what I think of Noxstar.
Speaker: And spoiler alert, I have had a mostly positive experience in
Speaker: So obviously I'm not going to come here and talk trash and say I hate the program when we have Danny Pesce coming on next episode.
Speaker: Trust me, I would not be bringing him on if I did not think that I got a lot of value from their program and generally enjoyed my experience so far.
Speaker: But there are, you know, some negatives to just like everything.
Speaker: So I'm going to give you that side of things as well.
Speaker: Before we jump into the topic, I want to invite you, if you have not already, please go leave us a review on Apple, on Spotify, on iTunes.
Speaker: I know that everyone listening to this podcast has not gone on left or view yet, so it would be greatly appreciated if you've gotten some sort of value from this.
Speaker: Leave us a good or bad review and let us know what you think.
Speaker: That's how we grow the podcast.
Speaker: So pretty easy to do that.
Speaker: Let me know if you need help leaving your review.
Speaker: And then on top of that, I've gotten a few people saying that they would love if we posted the podcast to YouTube.
Speaker: I know some people are doing YouTube podcasts, posting more video too.
Speaker: So we have started to do a little bit more video.
Speaker: on the podcast, sharing on Instagram and social media.
Speaker: But if that's something that you would like, obviously you're listening to this podcast, so you're probably a podcast listener already if you're listening to the audio right now.
Speaker: But if you know people that are more video or if you like consuming content on YouTube, shoot me a DM on Facebook or Instagram.
Speaker: Would love to hear your feedback on that.
Speaker: If we get enough people, we're going to start publishing it to YouTube as well.
Speaker: So let's jump into the Noxstar review.
Speaker: So I've been in Noxstar now about a year and a half.
Speaker: I was actually one of probably the early groups to get in on it.
Speaker: And when I first joined the program, they had these things called boot camps, which was a six week basically training program where they would take you in.
Speaker: They do weekly calls.
Speaker: They would have a six week competition during this boot camp and declare a winner.
Speaker: And it was a great experience.
Speaker: They crammed a ton of content in these six weeks.
Speaker: They separated it into different topics every week, things such as referrals, door knocking, the closing presentation, stuff like that, the mindset, different topics.
Speaker: And I really got a lot out of it.
Speaker: And if I'm being honest, that was probably the most valuable thing that I have consumed from the Noxstar side of things is their boot camp.
Speaker: And so if Danny Pesci, Taylor McCarthy, if you're listening to this, would love if you brought back the bootcamp, because as far as I know, they're not actually doing the bootcamp at this moment.
Speaker: I don't know if they plan to bring it back, but what they do have right now, I'll give you a list of their core products here.
Speaker: So if you go onto their Instagram, first of all, follow these guys on Instagram and it's knockstaruniversity.
Speaker: They're dropping a ton of great content on there.
Speaker: But here's what they're doing.
Speaker: They've got some different products.
Speaker: Okay, they've got slicks, which are things you can use in your door knocking in your presentation.
Speaker: They've got some different decks of cards that are knock hard.
Speaker: They've got a black version, they've got solar cards, and they've got presentation cards.
Speaker: And then they've got a retreat.
Speaker: They usually have some sort of retreat that they're preparing for.
Speaker: And then they've got their university, which is just their online training platform.
Speaker: And then their high ticket program right now, which they, I think they have you do a call and kind of see if, you know, approve their vetting process.
Speaker: They have you kind of submit an application for that.
Speaker: is knockstar united and that's what i'm a part of that's their high level mastermind where you get basically access to everything that they have and then you get access to their retreats on top of that you get a weekly call with other members of knockstar united where you just talk about your problems they have guest speakers sometimes come on and then danny and taylor just share different things throughout the weeks of it and that's a year-long program
Speaker: And as far as pricing, here's my honest opinion on their pricing.
Speaker: The slicks, so their cards and their slicks, they're all $97.
Speaker: And just looking at it, I mean, it is a steep price for some of these things.
Speaker: $97 for some slicks.
Speaker: These are the slicks.
Speaker: That's just some laminated pages that has difference.
Speaker: things you can show your customers and you're using your presentations.
Speaker: And the knock starts, the knock hard, some are more valuable than others.
Speaker: So in my opinion, maybe slightly overpriced.
Speaker: But at the end of the day, you've got to keep in mind as they're selling these different products, these things can literally make you thousands of dollars.
Speaker: So when you look at it from that perspective, it is investment.
Speaker: It is a tax write-off.
Speaker: It is part of your education and it will make you more money.
Speaker: So looking at that way, I mean, you can justify it, but yeah, some of these 97 bucks for a deck of cards, if you're comparing it to a deck of playing cards, yeah, obviously that's expensive just from a quality standpoint.
Speaker: But if you're considering the fact that you're getting some great knowledge from them, then yeah, more justifiable.
Speaker: And so if you've not purchased any of their products before, I would suggest starting with the solar cards.
Speaker: And here's why they're, that's the green deck of cards.
Speaker: The reason is it's just more general solar information.
Speaker: And I think you can utilize what they talk about no matter what style of presentation you have or whether you're new, advanced, beginner, intermediate.
Speaker: I think there's something that can apply for everyone in the solar cards.
Speaker: So I would start with that.
Speaker: If you have not purchased any of their products, start with the solar cards.
Speaker: And then the slicks, I think, are really valuable if you're going to use them.
Speaker: And then the other thing is you start with the solar cards.
Speaker: You can see what style of language they use.
Speaker: You can see how they're overcoming objections.
Speaker: And if you vibe with it, if you dig it, then you can get into the other products they have.
Speaker: Because if you just buy all these things and it's not your style and you don't like what you're seeing, then you're probably not going to like the rest of their products.
Speaker: So start with the solar cards, use them, drill them, rehearse them.
Speaker: And I think that is a great starting point.
Speaker: Get the green solar cards.
Speaker: And then next you have their Noxstar University.
Speaker: And that is, I think it's probably the best solar training platform next to Sol Society, which is our training platform.
Speaker: But that and SolSciety, I think they're the two best training platforms right now.
Speaker: And they are adding more content into the university.
Speaker: It does leave a little bit to be desired in some of the areas, some of the sections.
Speaker: I know they are adding more, but some of it is pretty basic.
Speaker: And then I think
Speaker: probably the most valuable stuff in there is you can see some of the live presentations from Taylor McCarthy.
Speaker: You can see live door knocking.
Speaker: You can see the way he's overcoming objections.
Speaker: And that I think is the single most valuable piece of content in there is just seeing what he's doing, which by the way, that's also on YouTube.
Speaker: So go watch Danny and Taylor's YouTube, some of the content they have on YouTube.
Speaker: And again, if you like their YouTube stuff, you're probably going to like what's on the university.
Speaker: If you don't like it,
Speaker: then you're not going to like it.
Speaker: Okay, so that is the university.
Speaker: And that I think is like 100 bucks a month, you can pay for the year, get a small discount.
Speaker: Okay, so bottom line, I would start with the knock cards, the solar cards, the green ones, if you're just getting started.
Speaker: And then I would go to an event, okay, and disclaimer, their United program, their high level mastermind, that is 20,000.
Speaker: I think they do do some little discounts if you go to an event.
Speaker: Okay, so don't tell them I told you that keep it between
Speaker: us.
Speaker: But if you do want to join their high level program, try going to an event and they do make a big push to market it and get people in the program at their events.
Speaker: So go follow them on Instagram.
Speaker: You can see what they're up to.
Speaker: You can go to one of their events.
Speaker: You'll probably see me there.
Speaker: And yeah, that's really what their products are.
Speaker: That's what they've got going on.
Speaker: Okay, and my experience with it has been really good.
Speaker: I've definitely seen my sales improve.
Speaker: I've definitely taken a lot of lines that I use in my presentation from Taylor McCarthy, from Danny Pesce.
Speaker: So a lot of stuff, great things they have going on in there.
Speaker: I will say the 12-month program, if you're going to join it, the main value from it is the masterminding, is the connecting with other people, is the competitions.
Speaker: So if you don't care about any of that, if you don't really care about connecting with other people in the industry, or if you're not a competitive person,
Speaker: then really you can get all their information.
Speaker: I mean, the info they share, there is some good stuff.
Speaker: There's some nuggets that aren't necessarily in the university.
Speaker: But if it's just like information you're looking for, if it's just sales tactics, stuff like that, then you don't have to spend $20,000 to be in their mastermind, okay?
Speaker: So you can go join just the university, get the sales tips, and that's all good.
Speaker: But if you are someone that thrives off of connecting with others, that's competitive, that wants to be part of like a group, and specifically if you're part of a company that does not have like competitions or that's, you know, doesn't have a lot of support, that doesn't have people you can reach out to and ask for tips and advice, then I think the Noxstar United program is for you because it puts you part of a community, which is really powerful.
Speaker: And I know a lot of us in the community,
Speaker: We connect with each other.
Speaker: We ask each other questions.
Speaker: I mean, I've even gotten referrals from people in the community.
Speaker: I've gotten leads sent to me.
Speaker: I've gotten referrals for recruits.
Speaker: And I've sent recruits myself to people in different markets from Noxstar.
Speaker: So that's the power of it.
Speaker: I think there's a ton of power in connecting with other people.
Speaker: I think there's a ton of a lot of power in being part of a community.
Speaker: So that is the main benefit of the United program.
Speaker: So that is the good.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: And so been a great experience.
Speaker: So the positives are you get the community, you get some great products.
Speaker: The negatives are just, I know some people may not have the same selling style as Taylor McCarthy.
Speaker: He does have a very specific way he sells and it works there.
Speaker: I don't use everything that he uses in his sales presentation.
Speaker: I take bits and pieces.
Speaker: But I know some people that don't like the way he presents his entire process.
Speaker: And so if you don't like it, the whole most of the content is based around his presentation and the slicks, all that type of thing.
Speaker: A lot of it is based around the way he sells.
Speaker: So for me, I only use certain part of the slicks.
Speaker: So that would be maybe a small negative is depending on if you want to implement his entire presentation style.
Speaker: then you can use all the slicks, all the contents, all the products, all the knock cards.
Speaker: But if you just take bits and pieces, then there's going to be some that's applicable, some that's not.
Speaker: So that may be a small negative.
Speaker: And then just on top of that, I guess some of the content as we go throughout the United program, it's 12 months long.
Speaker: So I'll be honest, sometimes it does repeat a little bit as far as the trainings, as far as the guests.
Speaker: Sometimes it can feel like it's being a bit redundant and they have to scramble to come up with something new and just turn it into more of a Q&A.
Speaker: So sometimes I do sense a little bit of disorganization.
Speaker: So that would be my only, I guess, feedback for them and only negatives I have seen.
Speaker: But other than that, it's a great program to join.
Speaker: It'll take yourselves to the next level.
Speaker: And I think it's a great investment if you're looking for something to invest in on top of Soul Society and the programs we offer here over at Soul Repreneur.
Speaker: So let me know if you have any other questions.
Speaker: But other than that, we're going to hear from Danny Pesce.
Speaker: He's going to share some changes coming to Noxstar, stuff about their events coming up, and really just what his vision is with Noxstar and things he's learned now doing it almost two years.
Speaker: So
Speaker: Don't miss out on next episode with Danny Pesce.
Speaker: It's his second time coming on the show.
Speaker: Let me know if you like this review.
Speaker: Hopefully it helped.
Speaker: If you're on the edge of wanting to be in Knockstar, let me know.
Speaker: I can answer more questions.
Speaker: But I greatly appreciate Taylor McCarthy, Danny Pesce.
Speaker: They have added a ton of value for me.
Speaker: And I know I have increased my income greatly just by being in their programs and implementing a lot of the advice and tips that I get from them.
Speaker: So I hope that helps.
Speaker: And I'm sharing a lot of the stuff I learned from Noxstar just so you know on the podcast.
Speaker: Okay, so I'm trying to share, trying to up level, and I'm trying to help you guys grow.
Speaker: So hopefully I can achieve that.
Speaker: Thanks for being a listener.
Speaker: Thanks for coming on the show with us today.
Speaker: And we will see you guys in the next episode.
Speaker: What's up, Solopreneurs?
Speaker: Hope you enjoyed the episode.
Speaker: Before you run out and start selling more solar yourself, wanted to let you know about an exciting new cheat sheet we created specifically for you in mind.
Speaker: One of the top questions I get asked on Instagram, on Facebook, by our listeners is, Taylor, where should I start?
Speaker: What episodes should I listen to in the podcast?
Speaker: You got too many podcasts, man, because now we have over 200 episodes.
Speaker: So what we've done, we created the top 10 most downloaded, most listened to, and I would say widely accepted, most useful podcasts that we've done here on Solarpreneur.
Speaker: We put them together all in one sheet so you can go, you can hit the ground running, especially if you're new and you do not want to not have this sheet.
Speaker: So go download it right now.
Speaker: It's going to be at top10.solarpreneurs.com.
Speaker: Again, that's top10, the number 10,.solarpreneurs.com.
Speaker: Don't forget the S on solarpreneurs.
Speaker: We will have that in the show notes.
Speaker: Go download it right now.
Speaker: And especially if you have not listened to them, go listen to them and you can re-listen to them.
Speaker: That's going to show you how.
Speaker: So go download it and we'll see you on the other side.
