Speaker: Ladies and gentlemen, the Super Bowl is here.
Speaker: We're freaking fired up.
Speaker: The Blazing Wing extra person's coming.
Speaker: It's a freaking banger, baby.
Speaker: Ladies and gents, welcome to freaking Super Bowl week, baby.
Speaker: The day that we all live for.
Speaker: Even you non-football watchers, you live for the commercials.
Speaker: You live for the great, glorious Super Bowl, baby.
Speaker: And we got a freaking banger of an episode fired up right now.
Speaker: This, boys, this might be the most excited I have been for an episode in a very, very long time, mainly because I got a chance to listen to y'all and kind of feed off of me not being a part of it, but hearing y'all's ideas and how we're going to choose who this last person is to get the extra blazing wing of death.
Speaker: I'm freaking fired up, fellas, but needless to say, I am more fired up than ever for a really, really great Super Bowl, in my opinion.
Speaker: It's going to be electric.
Speaker: It's going to be iconic.
Speaker: Dane, what are your initial feelings?
Speaker: Obviously, you wanted your Jets to be here.
Speaker: It's a little bit of a letdown.
Speaker: We all expected them to be here.
Speaker: But even though your Jets didn't make it, how pumped up are you for these two teams specifically?
Speaker: Are you as worn out by the Chiefs as everybody else, or are you still fired up?
Speaker: I'm fired up and I'm also disappointed.
Speaker: Like I'm fired up because I feel like these are the top, the number one and the number two teams in the NFL.
Speaker: Like I feel very confident about that.
Speaker: But I'm disappointed because, you know, neither one of these teams is super easy to root for.
Speaker: Like if the Lions were in it, I feel like the whole world would be against the Lions.
Speaker: Or Ravens, probably maybe the same thing because they haven't been here in a while.
Speaker: Lamar Jackson first year.
Speaker: But overall, Slade, this has all the writings to be –
Speaker: like just one of those classic games, one of those back and forth games that comes down to the wire.
Speaker: And as a, as just a football fan who does not have a huge rooting interest until I submit my bet at 1157 PM or 1157 AM on Sunday, I have no rooting interest.
Speaker: So as of now, I'm just very excited from a football standpoint.
Speaker: So we'll see how it goes.
Speaker: I hope it plays out the way it is in my head, where it's back and forth, kind of like last year.
Speaker: I feel like you can't go wrong with a game like that.
Speaker: But I feel like right now all you can root for is to not have a blowout.
Speaker: Absolutely.
Speaker: If you don't have a dog in the fight, you're always rooting for the best game possible.
Speaker: Eric, whenever you're seeing, this game is obviously built up more than any other game in pretty much all of sports.
Speaker: So it's a week full of just press questions, unique interviews that you don't get to normally see.
Speaker: For you as a pure football guy, does that stuff matter to you?
Speaker: Do you take joy in that?
Speaker: Or are you just like,
Speaker: All right, just get to the game.
Speaker: Enough with all this media.
Speaker: How much does that really get your blood flowing compared to the football aspect of it?
Speaker: That's a great question, Slade.
Speaker: I love it.
Speaker: I love that there's a week in between the AFC and NFC Championship and the Super Bowl.
Speaker: They can kind of come down off their high, and they've got two weeks to prepare.
Speaker: Then I love it that for a week straight, the media is just on them watching every single snap in their practice and everything they're doing.
Speaker: They get there a week early, like
Speaker: I think it's fun.
Speaker: And I love that there's so many storylines going into the game and there's so many angles and there's so many different things that come out that it fires me up.
Speaker: It gets me even more excited for the game.
Speaker: And this one, the storylines in this one are incredible.
Speaker: Even for the general managers, you guys probably were a little bit younger.
Speaker: I watched John Lynch play when I was younger.
Speaker: I remember watching that guy.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: It's crazy that now he has a chance to win a Super Bowl here as the GM.
Speaker: And, like, just Kyle Shanahan blowing all the games that he's blown, the big games, losing them all in really tough ways.
Speaker: Like, now he has a chance for redemption.
Speaker: Like, Patrick Mahomes going after the GOAT, the Taylor Swift annoying things.
Speaker: Like, just all the storylines are so fun.
Speaker: And so the whole week to just build and add to the pressure and add to the hype, I'm here for it.
Speaker: That's a really great point.
Speaker: Brent, whenever you hear Eric talking about the different storylines, what to you sticks out as the storyline?
Speaker: What is the main heading that should be on every book that is written about this game?
Speaker: What do you think stands out to you and what does it really boil down to in the
Speaker: My two favorite things going into this week, we're seeing Christian McCaffrey's opportunity to win a Super Bowl with his dad.
Speaker: That whole story is really neat.
Speaker: And then just everyone ridiculing Brock Purdy this entire year.
Speaker: And now he has this opportunity.
Speaker: And...
Speaker: It almost frustrates me that he's still having to prove all these things.
Speaker: But here's the perfect opportunity.
Speaker: Like Brock Purdy, it is right in front of you.
Speaker: You go ball out and win this game.
Speaker: No one can say anything after that.
Speaker: And so I'm almost rooting for him to play well.
Speaker: And I just hope that even if they lose, I hope he plays so well.
Speaker: Because you look at last year's Super Bowl and Jalen Hurts.
Speaker: They didn't win the game, but everyone after that game said, hands down, he was the best player during that game.
Speaker: I hope that is the case for Brock Purdy.
Speaker: I hope that he just balls out and just gains respect like Jalen Hurts did after last year's Super Bowl.
Speaker: So that's kind of what I'm looking out for.
Speaker: But again, you have all these things going on.
Speaker: You have Patrick Mahomes trying to solidify just –
Speaker: everything he's added to already and it's just gonna be so much fun um yeah who knows who knows what's gonna happen but i'm excited
Speaker: Brent, I love that you said everything's in front of Brock Purdy because before we get to our predictions and all that stuff, everything is in front of us as a Triple F podcast crew because we're a betting podcast, baby.
Speaker: So everything is in front of us as sports bettors this week.
Speaker: There is more shit to gamble on than you ever imagined.
Speaker: Dane, being the betting loser that you are, whenever you look at this game and you see all the bets going on, how do you avoid these cheap bets that are just a waste of your time and energy and really stay focused on getting the money?
Speaker: Slade, I can't tell the people how to get money in this game.
Speaker: I haven't quite figured it out.
Speaker: If anybody has any tips, please let me know.
Speaker: But I'll tell you from experience some things that you need to stay away from.
Speaker: If you're going into this game trying to gamble to make money –
Speaker: you need to stay away from all the crazy bets.
Speaker: Like, don't go put $100 down on the coin flip unless you just love the adrenaline rush.
Speaker: I know all Eric loves that because last year, I think he just, I think that might have been his only bet.
Speaker: I think he just hammered the hell out of the coin flip, which is great.
Speaker: I mean, that's for some people that's away from it.
Speaker: But some spots where I...
Speaker: have gotten myself into a pickle was they, they have all these crazy props out there.
Speaker: They have all the MVP odds.
Speaker: You know, I see Chris Jones at plus 2000 to win the MVP.
Speaker: I'm like, Oh hell I'll throw 20 bucks on that.
Speaker: You know, then I went 800 bucks if it wins.
Speaker: And then I'll go do that with a bunch of other people.
Speaker: And then it always ends up being the one guy I didn't put money on, or it ends up being the favorite.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: You know, so those are ways that I have gotten my ass kicked in the Super Bowl.
Speaker: If you want to just make money, stick to your gut.
Speaker: Make it just one of those bets that's like the minus 110 where all you're giving up is the juice.
Speaker: You know, don't go chasing that plus money unless you just feel really, really confident.
Speaker: Or if you just want to put down a little bit of money in case something crazy happens.
Speaker: Yep, Dane, I agree.
Speaker: This is the most fun week as far as football gambling goes.
Speaker: There's so many things to think about and factor, but I've got to go on a little bit of a rant here.
Speaker: I take my gambling addiction, I mean my gambling hobby, very seriously.
Speaker: And so I've got to go on a little bit of a rant here on the Super Bowl squares.
Speaker: Can we stop with the Super Bowl squares and can we gamble with some honor and dignity instead of throwing your name on a square that has a one in 100 chance that you have no skill, no input, no knowledge, no information?
Speaker: You just that to me.
Speaker: Come on.
Speaker: That to me is just for all the nerds that don't really watch football.
Speaker: That's for the girls in the back that are trying to get interested.
Speaker: Stay away from the Super Bowl squares, okay?
Speaker: That is, to me, that is not gambling.
Speaker: Get out of there.
Speaker: The next thing, Dane, you nailed it on the head.
Speaker: I love a good coin toss bet because you know if you won or lost.
Speaker: immediately before they even kick off.
Speaker: But I was looking and what we use right now and the website that a lot of us are currently using, the bet is minus 120.
Speaker: The juice is minus 120 on that bet.
Speaker: How in the world is that not a minus 105 and a minus 105 for heads and tails?
Speaker: So you've got to avoid that.
Speaker: If you can just go straight heads up with one of your buddies, do that.
Speaker: So these
Speaker: you know, bookies or casinos aren't collecting all this juice.
Speaker: That is ridiculous.
Speaker: Dane.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So now that you're saying that, have you currently put down a bet on the coin flip yet?
Speaker: No, I have not.
Speaker: Would you like to, ladies and gentlemen, this is breaking.
Speaker: Eric, would you like to make a bet on the coin flip right now?
Speaker: I will put a hundred dollars down on head straight up for any takers in this podcast.
Speaker: Tails never fails, boys.
Speaker: This is the shake through the camera $100 coin flip right here.
Speaker: Anybody who doesn't know, I have lost so much money to Eric doing stupid shit like this, but go ahead and throw another 100 in his pocket.
Speaker: I freaking love that.
Speaker: That is good stuff.
Speaker: One of my favorite bets, and it almost feels safe.
Speaker: It almost feels like a lock to go on the over on this.
Speaker: But the total amount of time for the national anthem to be played, that is the most fun thing for me.
Speaker: We always have...
Speaker: a little timer, and I usually always pick the over.
Speaker: And you're sitting there, and it is getting down close.
Speaker: And that last note usually lasts up a solid 15 seconds.
Speaker: It is so fun to do that.
Speaker: So that is probably my favorite prop bet going into the Super Bowl is the over on the amount of time it takes for the national anthem to take place.
Speaker: You say that, Brent.
Speaker: I had the same exact thought last year, and it was Chris Stapleton.
Speaker: And I'm like, if anybody is going to hit this over, it's going to be Chris Stapleton.
Speaker: And then the freaking – and by the way, one of the best national anthems of all time.
Speaker: But the dude just rushes through the end.
Speaker: I mean, he didn't take his time.
Speaker: It wasn't pure – I mean, gosh, damn, that was a tough, tough beat.
Speaker: The first, you know, few words, few –
Speaker: few lines of the song just it looked like a lock it was like it was like that freaking lions and fucking ears game i mean i just got got my ass kicked in that one um dane i think it's ironic that you just preach to the choir saying do not waste your time
Speaker: And just make sure that you stick to the bets you know.
Speaker: And then Eric goes, hey, if anybody wants $100 on a coin flip, Dane was like, all right, yeah, I'll do it.
Speaker: Here we are.
Speaker: What the hell?
Speaker: This is such a funny story.
Speaker: I think we probably talked about it a lot last year, but we took a party bus to go watch week one Cowboys versus Buccaneers in Dallas.
Speaker: Took a big group of us from here in Vega.
Speaker: Probably one of the most fun times ever.
Speaker: Funnest trips I've ever been on.
Speaker: And we were going down there and I told everybody to bring a bunch of $1 bills so we could play left, right, center on the way down there.
Speaker: And we play a few times, you know, left, right, center.
Speaker: You get a few winners.
Speaker: But other than that, you know, everybody's losing three bucks here, three bucks there.
Speaker: Well, finally, I got tired of like that little boy gambling.
Speaker: So I told Eric, I said, $100 high card.
Speaker: Let's play it.
Speaker: And he was like, all right, sounds good.
Speaker: And so we do it, and I draw three.
Speaker: He draws like a jack.
Speaker: He just whoops me.
Speaker: I was like, okay, double or nothing.
Speaker: And so we had, I think Trenton Galbraith jumped in too.
Speaker: And so we have probably $600 out here for high card, just pulling a high card.
Speaker: And I pull a jack, and this son of a bitch pulls a queen.
Speaker: And I was so damn mad.
Speaker: I mean, that's just my kind of luck.
Speaker: So anybody out there, if you got a bookie, hammerheads.
Speaker: It was, that was honestly, it was so funny because it was a great way to start the weekend with a lot of extra cash in your wallet.
Speaker: But before you go on, I just got to let everybody know Eric really needed that.
Speaker: I, it was kind of like a pity bet because that was also the day that A&M lost to Appalachian States.
Speaker: He was down.
Speaker: He needed that confidence boost and 400 bucks from old daddy Dane really got him there.
Speaker: That's a good point because honestly, I would give all of that back if that game would have just went the other direction.
Speaker: That was one of the low points of my life was being on that bus with all the people that don't like A&M and watching that happen and having to be there with them.
Speaker: But anyways, so I was looking at all the prop bets for the Super Bowl and there was one that just stuck out to me and I was like, oh my gosh, I'm going to hammer this one.
Speaker: One thing we can dive into the game here a little bit if you want to say, but one thing that really makes me nervous for the 49ers is Jake Moody, their kicker.
Speaker: Like that is a, that is a part that I think Harrison Butker for the chiefs is such a leg up, right?
Speaker: Like I think he has such an advantage over Jake Moody in this game.
Speaker: Well, the chiefs for the longest field goal made are minus one 30.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: I think to me, that was the one that just stuck out of just like, no, it all comes down to where you at on the field and how, you know, it all comes down to kind of by chance, but I can see the 49ers going for a lot of those fourth and ones, fourth and twos, a lot more than maybe the chiefs.
Speaker: And if it comes down to who can just make a longer field goal, give me Harrison Budker all day.
Speaker: He's been there and, and I just don't have any faith in Brock Moody.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'd say hammer that one if you got that as an option.
Speaker: Dane?
Speaker: Eric, I love that bet.
Speaker: I hadn't seen that one out there, actually.
Speaker: So that is great insight.
Speaker: But as soon as you started talking about a kicker, I saw this one earlier and I loved it.
Speaker: The over-under for the longest field goal in the game from either team is 46 and a half.
Speaker: That seems really low to me.
Speaker: Last week, whenever it was the Ravens and the Chiefs, the over-under, I think, was 47 and a half.
Speaker: And I was like, you got Harrison Butker and Justin Tucker, the greatest kicker of all time, and then probably at least a top five kicker in the league right now.
Speaker: I hammered it.
Speaker: That was the only bet I put on that game.
Speaker: And it smoked it easy.
Speaker: I think Butker made a 53-yarder.
Speaker: And so, I mean, 46 and a half yards, yeah, that's a long way, but someone's bound to kick one of those if, I don't know.
Speaker: I thought that that one was pretty spicy, and it goes right along with yours, Eric.
Speaker: So if you want to ride on the kicker's train, then go ahead and hammer it.
Speaker: I don't think – I know that kickers get a lot of the love and a lot of the hate because you either make the game-winning kick or you miss the game-winning kick, and that's all that people will remember about you.
Speaker: But I don't think people value kickers enough in the respect of dynasties.
Speaker: You go back to the Patriots dynasty, and they have had two great kickers all throughout, two of the greatest kickers in NFL history.
Speaker: And then you look at teams that win those close games versus lose those close games and teams that have faith in their kickers.
Speaker: It matters so much when you get into these big games, and what bigger game than the Super Bowl?
Speaker: That could be a big storyline and an underrated storyline, thanks to Eric bringing that up, because Harrison Butker has been there, has done that, and we will feel no pressure seeing Butker walk out there to kick the game-winning kick because he's seen it all.
Speaker: the 49ers probably don't feel as comfortable sending the kicker out on a game-winning kick situation.
Speaker: I mean, it is definitely a much different situation.
Speaker: And like Eric said, I think that the Chiefs are more willing to let themselves rely on the kicker and rely on their defense on the flip side.
Speaker: So I would definitely hammer Eric's bet.
Speaker: I think that's a surefire lock.
Speaker: Brent, what do you think on over-under?
Speaker: Because you've kind of been the guy that rides those over-unders hard this year.
Speaker: So this is one that I'm having a really hard time with.
Speaker: I think it's the last time I looked, I think it was 47, 47 and a half, I believe.
Speaker: What's your thought on that?
Speaker: See, this is where I let my emotions get the best of me.
Speaker: I'm rooting for a 35 to 38 repeat, you know, like last year, where it's just a high-scoring game.
Speaker: So...
Speaker: And I think that is very – you said 48?
Speaker: That's what you said?
Speaker: 47 and a half I think.
Speaker: 47 and a half is what it's currently at.
Speaker: In my head, that is just very doable, and I want to say the over, but I know that's also my emotion.
Speaker: That's just wishful thinking also.
Speaker: But honestly, if you were to say, okay, choose one, what are you going to go put money down?
Speaker: I would put money on the over.
Speaker: I agree with you, Brent.
Speaker: And, you know, if I'm going to look at it between how my balance is whenever I bet on spreads and how it is whenever I bet on over-unders, I get my ass kicked in the over-unders almost every time.
Speaker: That's one of those bets where it feels like it's way easier to guess it than it is the spread.
Speaker: And I don't know, maybe this is just me, but it seems like
Speaker: That over under at 47 and a half, they're begging you to take the over.
Speaker: It's just, we always talk about it.
Speaker: There's some lines out there that just look fishy.
Speaker: Chad is the best one at this.
Speaker: That guy takes the sketchiest lines I've ever seen in my life.
Speaker: And it works out for him way more than it should.
Speaker: And that seems like one of those.
Speaker: I feel like they are just begging you to take the over.
Speaker: So then that means you should take the under, which means you should stay away.
Speaker: So let me ask you this.
Speaker: If you put that in a teaser, like a seven-point teaser, y'all are saying the over.
Speaker: So which one, I guess I kind of know your answer already then, but which of these sounds more like, oh my gosh, that's a can't miss, over 40.5 points or under 54.5?
Speaker: I guess by both of your answers on just the over-under, I guess both of you would say, dude, over 40.5, right?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I feel like that'd be the safer pick, but I mean, that might be one of those where it can fall in between.
Speaker: I really don't know.
Speaker: I guess if that's the scenario, you probably hammer the over on that and just hope like hell that that Chiefs offense gets rolling because you know the 49ers are going to put up points as long as Brock Pretty doesn't poop in his pants.
Speaker: Well, then that puts me at my very last gambling talks later, and then I'll shut up and send it back to you.
Speaker: But you can get a teaser right now, and you can put together – you can put Chiefs plus nine, and you can put over 40 and a half.
Speaker: And it's not quite even money, but it's close.
Speaker: It's like you can risk 100 to win like 75.
Speaker: And to me, you get the Chiefs with nine points, and then they've got to get over 40 and a half –
Speaker: Crazier things have happened, but to me, it's kind of like, that seems like taking free money.
Speaker: Dane talked about it too.
Speaker: It is one of those Super Bowls that it feels –
Speaker: like Vegas knows something we don't and that they're toying with our emotions because it seems like everybody is lining up to go, how are the Chiefs not favored?
Speaker: Like, how has it been this big of a spread all week?
Speaker: And we've seen it move up a little bit, but never has it moved into the Chiefs favor.
Speaker: And it seems like everybody's sitting there in their head going, you know, this is Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker: The Chiefs are white hot.
Speaker: The defense is stellar.
Speaker: Brock Purdy is apparently this questionable guy.
Speaker: How is this not obviously money all on the Chiefs and money all on the Overs?
Speaker: That, to me, is where I'm starting to be like, man, maybe this is a destiny 49ers.
Speaker: Brock Purdy comes out, does what he's supposed to.
Speaker: Kyle Shanahan, redemption game.
Speaker: This is one of those weird spots where I just feel like we're doubting the Chiefs again, and I'm like, maybe we're all going to look like fools again after it, but
Speaker: What does Vegas know that we don't, Brent?
Speaker: I mean, what is truthfully in your heart of hearts do you feel like is going to happen this weekend?
Speaker: I kind of mentioned it last week, Slade, but like you said, fate for the 49ers.
Speaker: I just – I truly feel like it's their time.
Speaker: I do.
Speaker: I think they're going to win the game.
Speaker: Now, it might be really close and the Chiefs could still cover, but I really think the 49ers are going to win this game.
Speaker: They have –
Speaker: Everything to play for.
Speaker: I mean, it's their time.
Speaker: It is fate.
Speaker: They have gotten here by the skin of their teeth, but they're going to go out there and win.
Speaker: It's the 49ers time.
Speaker: So with that being said, Brent, if it's the 49ers time, what's your score prediction?
Speaker: Dude, my score prediction is a 31-30 ball game with the 49ers winning.
Speaker: And it would be really funny if – after all the talk of this podcast, if Harrison Butker misses a kick for the win.
Speaker: From over 46 and a half yards.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: That's right.
Speaker: So I'll go ahead and throw out my prediction.
Speaker: I mean, everything says take the 49ers.
Speaker: I mean, y'all are – Brent is saying all the right things.
Speaker: It just seems like the 49ers year, what else could go wrong to prove that it's not their year?
Speaker: But you look at the way that they have started every playoff game, when they played the Packers and when they played the Lions.
Speaker: They came out tight.
Speaker: Like Eric said a few episodes ago, they were playing not to lose the game.
Speaker: And I have a feeling that they're going to come out that way again.
Speaker: And I think that Chiefs defense is going to be too good to be able to come back on kind of like the Lions did.
Speaker: I really think you got to take the experience here.
Speaker: I think you got to take the Chiefs over the Niners to get Mahomes his third Super Bowl.
Speaker: My score prediction, I'm going to go a little low scoring.
Speaker: I hope I'm wrong here, but I'm going to go 21 to 17.
Speaker: Chiefs win it.
Speaker: Oh, man, that's good stuff.
Speaker: Both of you, I see both sides.
Speaker: So my heart is rooting for the 49ers.
Speaker: I really, really want –
Speaker: to see the 49ers get this W. I don't want to see Patrick Mahomes win again.
Speaker: I want to see Brock Purdy shut the world up.
Speaker: But my head, I cannot, like, I just, when I've been trying to think about where I land on this game, I keep going back to last year's Super Bowl.
Speaker: I keep going back to about halftime when we're all sitting there saying, this is going to be a blowout.
Speaker: This is looking like a blowout.
Speaker: Thinking the Eagles were fixing to run away with it.
Speaker: And what Patrick Mahomes did in the second half of last year's Super Bowl, I don't think I will ever forget it, of just putting the Superman cape on and a team coming together and coming back like that.
Speaker: And so my head says it's Chiefs all the way.
Speaker: You've got to hammer the Chiefs.
Speaker: So my money will be on the Chiefs.
Speaker: My heart is with the 49ers.
Speaker: Chiefs cover, 49ers win, 24-23.
Speaker: Let's go.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: Great prediction and great insight there, Eric.
Speaker: I did the same thing last year as you, Eric.
Speaker: I was just telling myself, you know, this is one of those years.
Speaker: Dane, sorry, go for it.
Speaker: No, go ahead.
Speaker: I just want it right after you.
Speaker: Okay, shit.
Speaker: Anyways, so last year watching the Super Bowl or leading up to it, I was telling myself, you know, this just feels like one of those years where Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs just win it.
Speaker: You know, Patrick Mahomes was on a bum leg.
Speaker: The Chiefs kind of had that, you know, white hot feel towards the end of the playoffs.
Speaker: And Patrick Mahomes was balling out of his mind on one leg.
Speaker: And I was like, man, this is just one of those games.
Speaker: The Chiefs win because they're the Chiefs.
Speaker: but that probably means that I'm wrong and the Eagles are a really good team.
Speaker: So I went with the Eagles and I'm not going to make that mistake again.
Speaker: The chiefs are going to win this game and be back to back Superbowl champions.
Speaker: Patrick Mahomes is going to add another chip and everybody's going to be talking about that.
Speaker: But to me,
Speaker: This game isn't Patrick Mahomes versus Brock Purdy.
Speaker: It's not the Chiefs offense versus the 49ers offense.
Speaker: This is Kyle Shanahan versus Steve Spagnuolo, the defensive coordinator for the Chiefs.
Speaker: That is what this game is going to come down to, that matchup.
Speaker: The Chiefs defense have controlled the game.
Speaker: The Chiefs offense did not play well in the second half versus the Ravens.
Speaker: And it was a very great Ravens defense, probably a better defense than what they're going to play against on the 49ers, even though the 49ers are a very, very well-crafted defense as well.
Speaker: But the defense is going to have to make the big plays.
Speaker: Patrick Holmes, he's proven that he'll make the plays that he's supposed to make.
Speaker: He makes all the layups in these big games, but...
Speaker: The star stops are going to be the key to the Chiefs' win.
Speaker: So that's why I'm going to go ahead and put it at 23-17 Chiefs in kind of a weird score game where you see more field goals than you expected.
Speaker: But that's why I'm going to take the Chiefs, and they're going to be the defending reigning Super Bowl champs, and then Travis Kelsey is going to retire after the season.
Speaker: Just kidding.
Speaker: Slade, you said it best when it's Kyle Shanahan versus Steve Spagnola.
Speaker: But I got a question.
Speaker: This is not going to sound great coming off of it, but just think about it for a sec.
Speaker: Who is going to benefit more from this Super Bowl?
Speaker: Like from, I don't know what kind of standpoint, but like who's going to benefit more, Brock Purdy or Patrick Mahomes?
Speaker: You'll have Brock Purdy last pick in the draft and
Speaker: going to win a Super Bowl, but there's all this talk about him, how he's just loaded with a bunch of stars.
Speaker: Or you got Patrick Mahomes with what I think everybody would agree with, his worst roster since he's been in the NFL, going to win his third Super Bowl, back-to-back Super Bowls, as the three seed not having home field advantage all the way to get in there.
Speaker: Brent, who do you think is going to benefit more from this win?
Speaker: 100% Brock Purdy because Patrick Mahomes goes and loses this game.
Speaker: Everyone's still saying, well, the 49ers were the better team.
Speaker: Patrick Mahomes' team was booty.
Speaker: You know, like he carried them that whole way.
Speaker: So I,
Speaker: It's 100% Brock Purdy because if he loses this game, it gives everyone the right to keep saying, oh, he's just on a good team.
Speaker: And look, he couldn't get the job done when the moment was his turn.
Speaker: And so I think, unfortunately, Brock Purdy has so much more pressure going into this game than Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker: It's not even funny.
Speaker: And it sucks for him.
Speaker: But like I said earlier, this is his time.
Speaker: And he has the opportunity here to just shut everybody up.
Speaker: and go out there and ball out and win.
Speaker: And then no one can say anything after that.
Speaker: Yeah, I think the Chiefs are definitely playing with more confidence and kind of playing with house money, as weird as it is.
Speaker: You know, the Chiefs, the team that's won it and been there and done that, you don't typically see them playing with house money.
Speaker: But I think they're the team that's playing with house money this year and playing with that confidence, have been there, done that.
Speaker: Brent, to your point, talking about Brock Purdy, I somewhat disagree.
Speaker: He has to ball out and be the reason they won for people to shut up.
Speaker: I think that people are so on his ass that even if he just plays a good game and they win on the back of McCaffrey or Debo or something like that, people are still going to say...
Speaker: I mean, he's still like the last pick in the draft.
Speaker: I think if he was a third round pick, everybody would not be saying the shit that they are.
Speaker: It's absolutely ludicrous.
Speaker: There was a guy, a reporter who brought up that he looked like Lee Harvey Oswald, the guy who assassinated JFK in his, like, that's the kind of interviews that interview questions that he's getting.
Speaker: And then on top of somebody comparing his looks to Lee Harvey Oswald, somebody commented on Twitter and said, just two guys that definitely couldn't have done it by themselves.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So that's the kind of shit that you're seeing out there on Brock Purdy.
Speaker: So I think that he is doomed unless he goes out and changes the narrative of he's just being the game manager and all that stuff, which we could go on a whole other rant for that.
Speaker: But if Brock Purdy balls out, he definitely benefits more.
Speaker: But I still think if he just plays a good Brock Purdy game manager type of game,
Speaker: people will still talk shit because they're idiots.
Speaker: They're freaking idiots.
Speaker: But Eric, do you have anything to add to that?
Speaker: No, I think it's a great question, but I do agree with y'all.
Speaker: And I think y'all said pretty much everything that I would say.
Speaker: I think that to me, that the person I'm looking at of like the most pressure on him is Kyle Shanahan.
Speaker: Like he has to win this game.
Speaker: He loses this game and his career is going to be defined by losses.
Speaker: So he's got to win this game.
Speaker: So, but, but no, everything y'all said, I agree with.
Speaker: If the Chiefs win this game, who has a better chance of hanging it up?
Speaker: Andy Reid or Travis Kelsey?
Speaker: Travis Kelsey, for sure.
Speaker: I don't see, I mean, other than Andy Reid's age, why would he walk away whenever he's got the greatest quarterback in the NFL right now?
Speaker: Arguably the best quarterback in NFL history.
Speaker: We'll see what comes to it.
Speaker: But why would you walk away whenever you still got good years left and you can
Speaker: Really cement yourself.
Speaker: You know, Mahomes right now, he's chasing Tom Brady, but no one's really talking about it.
Speaker: Andy Reid's chasing Bill Belichick right now.
Speaker: And so he can keep going and keep climbing up on those rankings to where he could be in that conversation for the greatest coach of all time.
Speaker: And hell, if he wins, if he wins this one,
Speaker: and then let's say one more, maybe two more, who's going to stop those conversations?
Speaker: Who's going to be able to say, no, he is Bill Belichick.
Speaker: I would take him a hundred times over Andy Reed.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: That's just what I think.
Speaker: Travis Kelsey is getting up there in age.
Speaker: You can tell he's slowing down and he's got old Tay-Tay to go home to.
Speaker: He's going to have plenty of retirement money from her.
Speaker: So we'll see what happens, but I think there's a way better chance that Travis Kelsey retires than Andy Reed.
Speaker: I totally agree, Dane.
Speaker: That's what I was going to say.
Speaker: I just looked up Taylor Swift's net worth.
Speaker: It's $1.1 billion with a B right now, and that's only going – that's like on a crazy trajectory up.
Speaker: If you're fixing to put a ring on a billionaire and you've already had 10 surgeries and you're limping around every single game, yeah, if you win the Super Bowl, get out of there.
Speaker: Brent.
Speaker: Well, that and just think of the life he has now.
Speaker: Let's say he goes out and wins the Super Bowl and he on stage, he'd probably just say, yo, I'm out like I'm done.
Speaker: He gets to go podcast with his brother, his best friend, and just go live the life of hanging out with his brother, doing a podcast with him, going home to Taylor Swift.
Speaker: and having so much money and just being a fun dude.
Speaker: He's a fun guy.
Speaker: Everyone can see that.
Speaker: He's a fun guy.
Speaker: Think about how much fun he'd have.
Speaker: I feel like he could kind of get into what Gronk's doing and just go be a part of a little television and go be an analyst and just live a fun life.
Speaker: He should do that.
Speaker: I hope he retires, and then we just get to watch him do all these fun things.
Speaker: That's what I'm hoping.
Speaker: Okay, so I hate to switch it up on you like this late, and I'm so tired of the Taylor Swift talk, but I got to ask this.
Speaker: Eric, you just said her net worth is $1.1 billion or something like that.
Speaker: If you were going to propose to somebody who has a net worth like that, how expensive does the engagement ring have to be?
Speaker: I can tell you this, fellas.
Speaker: It's not going to be a lab diamond.
Speaker: I just did some ring shopping myself.
Speaker: It's not going to be a lab-grown diamond.
Speaker: It's going to be the real shebang.
Speaker: And let's hope that Shelby doesn't follow Taylor Swift on Instagram after that.
Speaker: I think she's feeling real good about her ring right now.
Speaker: And...
Speaker: Yeah, he's going to have to cough up a little bit more than Slade did over here.
Speaker: So it's going to be a hefty – I don't even want to know how much that ring costs.
Speaker: I mean it's in the probably – shit, the millions.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Then nobody else had any shit to add to that?
Speaker: Okay, anyways.
Speaker: All right, Dane, well, I think we're good on this Super Bowl talk.
Speaker: We're freaking fired up, you know,
Speaker: We're pumped to watch it, and I'll be in Crested Butte watching it with some friends.
Speaker: We'll get off the slopes, and we'll go watch the Chiefs win another Super Bowl.
Speaker: But we're fired up.
Speaker: We're excited.
Speaker: Dane takes away with the draft, baby.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Thank you, Slade.
Speaker: So we have a pretty good draft coming up.
Speaker: But –
Speaker: Before we get into the Super Bowl draft, we have to give, we have to pour one out for the greatest Toby Keith.
Speaker: Rest in peace to Toby Keith, one of the all-time greats.
Speaker: Gosh, this is one of those where like, we all knew that it was coming.
Speaker: You know, he'd been sick for a while.
Speaker: He died fighting the good fight.
Speaker: He went out with his boots on.
Speaker: And
Speaker: This is one of those where you kind of, I don't know about y'all, but I kind of forget how many bangers that he put out.
Speaker: I mean, you don't realize how many good songs the guy has until something like this happens.
Speaker: And you go back and listen, you're like, oh my gosh, that's a banger.
Speaker: That's a banger.
Speaker: That's a banger.
Speaker: And you just keep going on and on.
Speaker: And you can listen to his songs all day long and not find a bad one.
Speaker: Rest in peace, Toby Keith.
Speaker: Dustin, I know you're listening.
Speaker: I know you're crying tears as I'm talking right now.
Speaker: But my goodness, we're going to do one full round of just Toby Keith songs.
Speaker: The orders here in the chat right there.
Speaker: Right after that, Slade, you're going to have the last one.
Speaker: You're just going to send it back going right into our –
Speaker: our music Superbowl draft, which is going to be a national anthem headliner,
Speaker: And then the round after that is going to be your halftime headliner.
Speaker: And then the final round is going to be a surprise guest for your halftime headliner.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So you got to think they got to correlate a little bit.
Speaker: If one is off the board, it's all off the board.
Speaker: You can't use them elsewhere.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Brent, you have the first overall pick for the Toby Keith round.
Speaker: So take it away whenever you're ready.
Speaker: Thank you, Dane.
Speaker: Well, this was hard.
Speaker: Like you said, he has so many bangers, but there's one song that it's just, it's
Speaker: Bethany and I's go-to song, like anytime we are about to go to a social function or a place where we're about to have a good old time, our last song that we put on in the car is stays in Mexico.
Speaker: And I just want all you listeners to know that, you know, we hear triple F, we do not condone the type of behavior that that song conveys.
Speaker: If you actually listen to the lyrics, it's not good, but yeah,
Speaker: we do condone the vibes it gives off.
Speaker: So give me stays in Mexico.
Speaker: It's an absolute banger.
Speaker: It's just, it's our fun song.
Speaker: We have a good time listening to it.
Speaker: That's my, that's my pick.
Speaker: And that's what, that's what I think of when I think of Toby Keith.
Speaker: Great pick.
Speaker: I can't believe that was number one, but that is a good song.
Speaker: I do like that song.
Speaker: I'm going to go with his number one banger because when I think of Toby Keith, I think of what he did for our military.
Speaker: I think of how much he loved the USA.
Speaker: So give me courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue.
Speaker: True banger.
Speaker: One of the greatest, most American, USA, we're the best team songs ever.
Speaker: So USA...
Speaker: Pour one out for Toby Keith.
Speaker: Give me courtesy of the red, white, and blue.
Speaker: That is awesome.
Speaker: Dustin just totally dookied in his pants because Brent didn't take courtesy of the red, white, and blue number one overall.
Speaker: I think that was by far the obvious, but I understand why you took it, Brent.
Speaker: Oh, Eric, you said it right.
Speaker: He always mentioned about our military.
Speaker: You know, he was just a great American.
Speaker: I've never heard anybody say they didn't like Toby Keith.
Speaker: You want to know why?
Speaker: Because Toby Keith hates the Taliban.
Speaker: If you hate Toby Keith, you like the Taliban.
Speaker: I will say it.
Speaker: I don't care if I get canceled.
Speaker: Toby Keith is a true red-blooded American.
Speaker: So with my pick, I'm going to take Should Have Been a Cowboy.
Speaker: It's an all-time banger.
Speaker: It's a great song.
Speaker: I'm all about it.
Speaker: It's give me Should Have Been a Cowboy.
Speaker: There goes Dane's chances of ever making it on a Herford Grain board ever.
Speaker: He's never getting a single vote into any of those offices.
Speaker: So, Dane, you're done for.
Speaker: I'm fine with going two rounds of this.
Speaker: I don't know how many bangers y'all had left out.
Speaker: Y'all want to go two rounds?
Speaker: Everybody else give me the heads up.
Speaker: Eric, you talked about, Eric and Dane both talked about his support for the military.
Speaker: This song, just, both of these next two songs tug on my heartstrings.
Speaker: American Soldier by Toby Keith is just a great song.
Speaker: And it just, it fills you with so much pride, so much patriotic, just love for the American soldier and everything they do.
Speaker: He could say it like no other.
Speaker: And then flipping on this next one, this is not one of his most well-known, this isn't like in the upper banger list, but
Speaker: If you've ever heard this song, you know how it made you feel.
Speaker: This is the song he wrote after 9-11.
Speaker: It's called My List.
Speaker: And he goes into what his, you know, he has a list of things to do.
Speaker: And then he goes about his list is to live, you know, it's to live for today and all that stuff.
Speaker: And so it really just captured the feeling of everybody, you know, in the wake of 9-11.
Speaker: And I think that's what Toby Keith was all about.
Speaker: So My List is my second thing.
Speaker: That's off, Toby.
Speaker: Great pick there, Slade.
Speaker: I forgot to mention one thing about Toby Keith whenever I was talking about him.
Speaker: New boys may not agree with me.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I think I'm the only one who's ever thought about this.
Speaker: But do you want to know who I think kind of looks like Toby Keith?
Speaker: It's Justin Cagle.
Speaker: He kind of looks like Toby Keith.
Speaker: I've always thought of that.
Speaker: The way y'all are laughing and looking at me means that y'all completely, y'all never thought about it, but now you kind of see it.
Speaker: So I just had to throw that one out there.
Speaker: For my second pick, I'm going to take beer for my horses.
Speaker: You get a little feature there from Willie Nelson.
Speaker: I mean, how can you make that any better?
Speaker: So give me beer for my horses with my second pick.
Speaker: That's a great pick.
Speaker: Love that song.
Speaker: My second round pick is I Love This Bar.
Speaker: That song is just so chill and so good.
Speaker: And everybody has that one place.
Speaker: When you listen to that song, they're like, that is where I want to drink beer is in that one spot.
Speaker: So give me I Love This Bar.
Speaker: Absolute classic.
Speaker: I love it.
Speaker: I love it.
Speaker: So my last pick is...
Speaker: When I think of this song, I think of the – I remember when I was younger, I always thought the video was so funny.
Speaker: And we would always put on the CMT, like country music, top 20 countdown.
Speaker: And we'd be eating our cereal before we go to church, and it was as good as I once was.
Speaker: And I remember thinking the video was so funny.
Speaker: So that's kind of what I think of too.
Speaker: So that's my second pick is as good as I once was.
Speaker: Brent, before you go on into the Super Bowl draft, I got to ask y'all, whenever Red Solo Cup came out, you know, that was whenever you had the CMT playing all the time.
Speaker: And so you heard just great songs, great songs.
Speaker: And then whenever Toby Keith came out with Red Solo Cup, I don't know what year that came out, but I was a lot younger.
Speaker: I did not like the song.
Speaker: I was like, this is not a very good song.
Speaker: But now I listen back and I think it is awesome.
Speaker: I love it.
Speaker: I want to know, like, do y'all agree?
Speaker: Did y'all hate it back then, but love it now?
Speaker: Or have y'all always loved it?
Speaker: So my thing with Toby Keith is like he's not necessarily always that genius guy where you're like, man, those lyrics hit home.
Speaker: It was the way his music makes you feel, like I mentioned in my picks.
Speaker: They're not his highest graded, but the way they make you feel, it's pure Toby Keith.
Speaker: So whenever I look back on it now, and especially after he's passed, I look back and I'm like, yeah, Red Solo Cup, that is pure Toby Keith.
Speaker: So it's a vibe.
Speaker: I don't mind it.
Speaker: Yeah, I always liked it, Dane.
Speaker: I thought it was great from the get-go.
Speaker: I thought it was so funny because I think our dad thought it was so funny.
Speaker: Joe, he loved that song.
Speaker: He would always play it and just crack up.
Speaker: He would just giggle to himself.
Speaker: So, yeah, I was always a fan.
Speaker: You, sir, do not have a pair of testicles if you prefer drinking from a glass.
Speaker: I can remember mom anytime that song would come off.
Speaker: She'd like so angrily just change the channel.
Speaker: She's like, that's the dumbest song ever.
Speaker: Flash forward to 2020.
Speaker: It's COVID and we're all just like closet partying in our house and Red Solo comes on and everybody goes freaking nuts.
Speaker: And I was just like, yeah, take that one, mom.
Speaker: Yeah, maybe this isn't lame.
Speaker: And then meanwhile, I was the one saying it was lame with her.
Speaker: Anyways, good party song.
Speaker: Okay, so I think I have the next pick, if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker: So going for the national anthem before the Super Bowl, I think of, I don't know, someone who's very talented and who I think would do such a great job of singing the national anthem is our homegirl Adele.
Speaker: That's my pick for the national anthem.
Speaker: Dude, that is an awesome pick.
Speaker: I just wanted to give a little bit of a shout-out to Chris Stapleton because last year, that was the greatest national anthem I've ever heard in my life.
Speaker: And in fact, I've gone back on Spotify, and I've listened to it multiple times since he released it on Spotify.
Speaker: Unbelievable.
Speaker: It gives me chills every time.
Speaker: I also want to mention that Dane and David Brorman both hate Chris Stapleton, and that makes no sense to me.
Speaker: I've never...
Speaker: anybody that doesn't like Chris Stapleton and doesn't appreciate him.
Speaker: And for some reason I cannot get David and Dane to like him.
Speaker: But anyways, there's his little shout out.
Speaker: So mine, I went with more of a Homer, a personal favorite of mine.
Speaker: I want Shane Smith and the saints up there doing their acapella version of the national anthem.
Speaker: I think that would be bad-ass.
Speaker: Eric, that's so funny you say that because up until that Super Bowl, I did not like Chris Stapleton.
Speaker: And that's usually my kind of music.
Speaker: And I just, for some reason, I could never like him.
Speaker: And then after that, like, I went and I was like, okay, I'm going to give this guy a second chance because –
Speaker: That was incredible.
Speaker: And I have started to turn the page.
Speaker: And I have started to become a Chris Stapleton fan.
Speaker: I might not get the farm anymore, but that's okay.
Speaker: Chris Stapleton, you're awesome.
Speaker: But with my national anthem pick, I'm going to take a legend here.
Speaker: Give me Celine Dion.
Speaker: She's got such a beautiful voice.
Speaker: I feel like that one's going to be over under three and a half minutes.
Speaker: Go ahead and give it.
Speaker: She could hold the high note.
Speaker: I'm out.
Speaker: I'm having reports she might not even be American.
Speaker: I'm currently looking it up as we speak, but if she's not, that's major bad juju on you, Dane.
Speaker: Hey, don't look it up.
Speaker: It is what it is.
Speaker: Slade, you're up next.
Speaker: Go for it.
Speaker: She's kidding.
Speaker: Okay, I didn't know that.
Speaker: I'll take a different one.
Speaker: I'll take Justin Bieber.
Speaker: He just wants O'Canada more than – Bethany immediately goes, she's not even American.
Speaker: To be honest, I don't know much about Celine Dion.
Speaker: Thanks, Bethany, for giving me the vibe check.
Speaker: Thank you for delivering Brent his hot tea.
Speaker: Stay out of it.
Speaker: Jeez.
Speaker: Oh, man.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: Oh, Eric, I love that you shouted out Chris Stapleton because that still gives me chills.
Speaker: And that was the most excited I've gotten just based off of a national anthem.
Speaker: For me, this is kind of where I'm kind of like sexist over the national anthem.
Speaker: Like if I hear the national anthem playing in my head, it's always in a girl's voice.
Speaker: And I don't know if that just comes from like all those years of like listening to Paige, seeing the national anthem and like thinking that was so cool or what it is.
Speaker: But like, I always hear it in a girl's voice.
Speaker: So I came down to these last two and now I'm starting to think that one of them isn't American either.
Speaker: So I don't want to get made fun of.
Speaker: So I,
Speaker: I'm going to go with maybe the most American white trash girl ever, but with pipes for days.
Speaker: Give me Miley Cyrus to be the national anthem singer.
Speaker: She might have her tits out.
Speaker: You never know, but she will damn sure nail the national anthem.
Speaker: Thank God you didn't just now take Shniad Twain because I know that's who you probably wanted to take and now she also is from Canada.
Speaker: No comment, can't confirm or deny.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Next time we're going into a national anthem headliner.
Speaker: So do they – Halftime headliner.
Speaker: Yeah, halftime headliner.
Speaker: Sorry, I was reading back for – halftime headliner.
Speaker: question can like we go back into like these people's peaks or like do they have to still be alive or is it like who's available right now i would think if they are going to perform at the halftime of this this year's super bowl they would need to currently be alive yes well shit okay in that case i
Speaker: I'm going to take a personal favorite, and it's not going to connect to 95% of our 10 viewers, but Trudy Oak Revival puts on the best live concert ever.
Speaker: If y'all have not gotten to see them, they are the freaking tits.
Speaker: And I want a show that's going to keep my energy up throughout the whole halftime, and Trudy Oak Revival will make me want to run through a brick wall with Christian McCaffrey in the second half.
Speaker: So Trudy Oak Revival is going to be in my halftime headliner.
Speaker: Great pick there, Slade.
Speaker: I would love it if they got the bid for it, but I think that may be a little far-fetched, but hey, who knows.
Speaker: With mine, I'm going to take Creed.
Speaker: Creed is such a great band.
Speaker: And I'm telling you, they would put on the greatest halftime performance.
Speaker: We've all seen the videos of them doing the Thanksgiving Day halftime show at the Cowboys game.
Speaker: They were flying all over the place.
Speaker: I'm all about it.
Speaker: Everybody kind of forgets who they are.
Speaker: And they're back, baby.
Speaker: Give me them as my halftime headliner.
Speaker: That was an epic pick.
Speaker: That never crossed my mind.
Speaker: That was epic.
Speaker: That would be the best thing ever.
Speaker: Okay, so I went a little different route.
Speaker: I was trying to think.
Speaker: I was like, who do I like to the general public, like the masses, like the world likes?
Speaker: And there's really only one person that's super famous that I'm like, man, I really like this person.
Speaker: Give me a Post Malone halftime show.
Speaker: I think that would be badass.
Speaker: Give me a little postie at halftime.
Speaker: Dane, I am so annoyed.
Speaker: I didn't think anybody would be going the Creed route.
Speaker: That was my number one pick.
Speaker: That is stupid.
Speaker: So my question is to y'all, you're saying they have to be alive, so I'm not allowed to pick Nirvana.
Speaker: Is that correct?
Speaker: Is that what you're saying?
Speaker: You could take Nirvana, but it wouldn't be the real Nirvana.
Speaker: So that's some BS.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Well, I guess...
Speaker: I'm going to rally the troops, get the boys back together, get me Motley Crue.
Speaker: Think about them coming out with Kickstart My Heart at the very first song.
Speaker: That really gets me going.
Speaker: If you guys haven't seen The Dirt, it's a terrible movie, but go watch it.
Speaker: It's a pretty cool story of how Motley Crue came together.
Speaker: So that's my pick is Motley Crue.
Speaker: And then I guess we're going straight into a surprise – or what is it?
Speaker: A surprise guest as the halftime show performer.
Speaker: Is that correct?
Speaker: So, guys, I'm not prepared for this because I'm going to go Creed.
Speaker: Man, I guess –
Speaker: As a surprise, give me a surprise celebrity.
Speaker: I'm going to go kind of a pop star route.
Speaker: And honestly, I could see this happening.
Speaker: Taylor Swift come out there on the set.
Speaker: She actually might do this.
Speaker: Who knows?
Speaker: So give me Taylor Swift with a little mix up with Motley Crue.
Speaker: Oh, Motley Crue and Taylor Swift, the mashup we never knew we needed.
Speaker: I love it.
Speaker: Great, great pick.
Speaker: That's interesting.
Speaker: So with Post Malone, I'm sticking with the same, and I'm just kind of keeping it on my personal favorites of who the public loves.
Speaker: So he made a little appearance a couple years ago, but Eminem is going to come out, and Eminem and Post Malone are going to do a little mix-up, go back and forth.
Speaker: I think that would be a pretty awesome halftime show.
Speaker: That would be incredible.
Speaker: Brent, I would love to know who you had with Creed to see if it would have been the same.
Speaker: That'd be awesome.
Speaker: But to feature a surprised guest for Creed, give me Shania Twain.
Speaker: It is two way different genres that you did not know would mesh well together.
Speaker: But when you mix them back and forth on the tractor, it works, baby.
Speaker: Give me Shania Twain.
Speaker: Man, I feel like a woman.
Speaker: Dane, I don't give a shit about your rule about these people have to be together or have to be alive.
Speaker: I know these guys are still alive, but they're not performing anymore.
Speaker: I don't even need their voices.
Speaker: I just need their song.
Speaker: The White Stripes are going to play Icky Thump in a random interlude in the game.
Speaker: And I don't even need it to be played for a long time.
Speaker: I just need that banger of an intro right in there with my Trudio Revival.
Speaker: It is going to blend like, I mean, it is going to be the perfect mesh.
Speaker: So, uh, Icky Thump is going to be playing while, uh, the Treaty Oak revival is on stage, baby.
Speaker: I just have to add one thing about Danes.
Speaker: Dane, this is the Superbowl for the national football league in America.
Speaker: This is not the Canadian football league.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Okay, honestly, I knew Shania Twain was Canadian, but I don't care.
Speaker: It's Shania freaking Twain.
Speaker: I'm not going to lie.
Speaker: I had no idea Celine Dion was Canadian.
Speaker: I really just had no idea.
Speaker: Just kind of went with it.
Speaker: I went with a beautiful voice.
Speaker: Brent?
Speaker: Guys, I don't even know why I'm saying this and I'm selling myself out.
Speaker: I am such a hypocrite.
Speaker: I just thought to myself, I really don't think Adele is American.
Speaker: She was born in England.
Speaker: So I'm a hypocrite.
Speaker: I'm so sorry.
Speaker: I don't know why I attacked you like that.
Speaker: I'm sorry.
Speaker: That's my bad.
Speaker: That one's my bad.
Speaker: Boys, I have been trying to get us canceled on this podcast all year long.
Speaker: I've been trying to get us canceled.
Speaker: That is my number one goal, and I think we just did it on accident.
Speaker: Boys, we're way over schedule.
Speaker: I think it's fine because it's the Super Bowl.
Speaker: I don't think we can leave this podcast without getting this freaking figured out, can we?
Speaker: Somebody is going to have to eat this last blazing wing, fellas.
Speaker: And we're going to have to sit here until we freaking figure it out.
Speaker: The cards are in my hand.
Speaker: And last week on the podcast, Dane said, well, maybe, you know, we go like a more survivor theme where we're talking to the jury and whatnot.
Speaker: Be careful what you wish for, Dane, because ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Survivor Blazing Wings.
Speaker: I am your host, Slade Brorman, and I am happy to see these three final contestants where they will face the jury tonight before the final vote where we will pick our big loser.
Speaker: Dane, we'll start with you.
Speaker: It's no secret, you beat me up a lot growing up.
Speaker: And it was never fun, but go ahead and talk to the jury about that decision to kick my ass consistently.
Speaker: Okay, Slade, I'll start off with this.
Speaker: I did.
Speaker: I worked up on you quite a bit growing up, and that was unfair of me.
Speaker: And I took it too far plenty of times.
Speaker: And what's funny about this is I know that if you just gave all of us a chance to talk, this is exactly what Brent would hammer on, is how mean to you I was growing up.
Speaker: And I was, Slade.
Speaker: I was.
Speaker: I deserve a good old kick in the nuts for it.
Speaker: But I got to tell you,
Speaker: I think that you're a better man because of it.
Speaker: I think that you are a lot stronger from all the bullying that you ever got.
Speaker: You got bullying that none of your friends ever got.
Speaker: I'll tell you what, Slade.
Speaker: I made you a better football player.
Speaker: You were the most physical guy out there.
Speaker: playing, you were not the biggest guy.
Speaker: You'll admit that.
Speaker: You were not the biggest guy out there on the football field, but you played like it.
Speaker: You want to know why?
Speaker: Because you had to wrestle a guy that was two times your size all growing up, all through your childhood.
Speaker: So you had to go through that, and you were a stronger and better man because of it.
Speaker: And I'll tell you what, Slade, I'm proud of the man that you have become.
Speaker: Eric, back in the early seasons of my life, Dane claimed to have learned his torture tactics from you.
Speaker: Were you aware that he intended to use these tactics that you taught him on his only brother in the house?
Speaker: Oh my gosh.
Speaker: No, I was not aware of that, Slade.
Speaker: I never even thought that that would possibly translate outside of the Rohrabach household.
Speaker: But I always told Brent how lucky he was to have me as a big brother because I saw what other big brothers did.
Speaker: I know how bad it got for them.
Speaker: And I know that Dane was bad to you.
Speaker: But it was not, most of that he took to another level.
Speaker: I was very, very easy on Brent comparatively to all of
Speaker: the other big brothers out there.
Speaker: So no, I'm sorry that that translated, but he took it to a different level.
Speaker: I was pretty soft on Brent.
Speaker: Brent in episode 41, you talked about how you didn't want Dane to do these mean things to me growing up.
Speaker: Yet many people identified you as Dane's right hand man at the time.
Speaker: Tell me Brent, if you didn't want these things to happen, why did you never step in?
Speaker: Slade, I feel like I did.
Speaker: I feel like there were so many times Dane had all these crazy ideas.
Speaker: He'd say, Brent, we should do this and we should do that.
Speaker: And I'd say, no, Dane, let's not do those things to Slade because he's a great guy.
Speaker: So you might not know this.
Speaker: But I stopped him from doing even more bad things to you.
Speaker: And you don't realize that, but I did.
Speaker: And Dane will attest to that.
Speaker: He's probably not going to because he's trying to get me to lose this game.
Speaker: But I'm telling you, I stuck up for you all the time.
Speaker: I also want to point out one thing, Slade.
Speaker: I was thinking about all the good times we've had in the past and just all the fun we've had here lately, being here in Lubbock.
Speaker: Think of all the good times you had.
Speaker: In the bars.
Speaker: Sorry, Vicki.
Speaker: You close your ears on this one.
Speaker: Think about all the good times you've had at the bars before you turn 21.
Speaker: Whose ID did you have?
Speaker: You had mine.
Speaker: It's because you're a good-looking son of a gun.
Speaker: You worked out.
Speaker: You might not have been 6'3", but you were close enough.
Speaker: And guess what?
Speaker: It worked.
Speaker: I had so many people send me Snapchats of you and the ID.
Speaker: Look at all those good times, all those fun memories.
Speaker: You would not have had that without...
Speaker: my generosity.
Speaker: I went out of my way to go to the DMV to get a new ID so I could give you mine.
Speaker: So I just want to keep that.
Speaker: I want to put that out there.
Speaker: And I want you to realize that I went above and beyond because I love you.
Speaker: And you're another brother that I never had, but you're like a brother to me.
Speaker: Dane, you once farted in a jar for a month before telling me it was cologne and making me smell it.
Speaker: Do you regret this decision in front of the jury today?
Speaker: Slade, if I was a man that just wanted to win this competition, I would tell you, yes, I regretted it.
Speaker: But I got to be honest with you, Slade, because our brotherly friendship is based off of honesty.
Speaker: Slade, I'm not going to lie to you.
Speaker: I don't regret it.
Speaker: I think that it was hilarious.
Speaker: And it is a story that we could tell for years to come.
Speaker: It's a story that we're going to be able, you're going to be able to tell this to my son.
Speaker: Slade, have I reminded you that you're about to be an uncle?
Speaker: Have I reminded you that?
Speaker: You're going to be Uncle Slade.
Speaker: Have I reminded you about that?
Speaker: But anyways, that's besides the point.
Speaker: You'll be able to tell these stories, and we're going to be able to laugh for years to come.
Speaker: And Slade, that's all I'm going to say about that.
Speaker: But I did not know that we were going to be able to improv off of this like Brent just did with the ID.
Speaker: So Slade, I've got to ask you this question.
Speaker: When is your wedding happening?
Speaker: June 8th is when that wedding is.
Speaker: June 8th.
Speaker: Awesome.
Speaker: I cannot wait for that day.
Speaker: It's going to be the greatest day of your life.
Speaker: Super happy for you.
Speaker: Super happy for Shelby.
Speaker: She's going to be such a great addition to the family.
Speaker: Slate, I got to ask you another question here on this.
Speaker: I know I'm not supposed to be rambling on, but like how, how important is it to you that your closest friends and all everybody that you love is at this wedding?
Speaker: Because, I mean, the wedding, your wedding is the most important day of your life.
Speaker: How important is it for you to be surrounded by people you love?
Speaker: It's pretty important, I would say.
Speaker: I mean, it's a good deal.
Speaker: It is very important.
Speaker: I agree with you, Slade.
Speaker: Hey, Brent, can you unmute yourself and tell me where you're going to be on June 8th?
Speaker: That's what we're referring to now, Dane.
Speaker: Gustavo tactics.
Speaker: Answer the question.
Speaker: Because our friendship is based on honesty.
Speaker: Answer the question.
Speaker: it hurts me to say that I will not be able to attend the wedding.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: That's all I ask.
Speaker: Brent mute yourself.
Speaker: You, it is my turn.
Speaker: It is my turn.
Speaker: Slight.
Speaker: Another thing that I got to throw in the second most important part of a wedding besides getting married is the bachelor party.
Speaker: Guess who's going to book the house.
Speaker: Guess who's going to buy your drinks?
Speaker: We'll see how many drinks I buy.
Speaker: I have a feeling it could be a lot, depending on how the rest of this night goes.
Speaker: I just wanted to let you know those things.
Speaker: With that being said, Slade, back to you.
Speaker: Eric, when you married Catherine, an officer pulled me aside at your wedding and told me I was too young to openly drink Miller Lite.
Speaker: Explain to the jury why you did not inform that security guard beforehand that I wasn't your typical 15-year-old.
Speaker: Well, the answer is simple.
Speaker: He had already seen that ID earlier in the night.
Speaker: So he was confused now because you shrunk a little bit, but you still look the same, Slade.
Speaker: Other than that, everything was the same.
Speaker: Muscle mass, strong jawline, beautiful comb over on the blonde hair, perfect white teeth that were straight.
Speaker: Everything else was the exact same.
Speaker: Brent.
Speaker: When you would come over to our house, I wanted nothing more than to hang out with y'all downstairs.
Speaker: Yet Dane would always bitch to mom and make me leave.
Speaker: Despite trying to seem on my side, I can't recall an instance where you actually stuck up for me.
Speaker: Rather than say you wanted me to hang out, you convinced me to leave every time.
Speaker: Tell me, Brent and the jury, was I not cool enough to hang out with you?
Speaker: That wasn't it at all, Slade.
Speaker: I think it's because Dane, he just was trying to be overpowering and he didn't want you to be there.
Speaker: I wanted you to be there.
Speaker: We were having fun together.
Speaker: And it was fun when you were down there, but Dane would tell his mom and mom would get mad.
Speaker: And at the time, I was terrified of Vicky.
Speaker: She intimidated me.
Speaker: I couldn't stick up to her.
Speaker: I love her to death, but I couldn't say anything.
Speaker: My hands were tied by my back.
Speaker: Dane would always say, it's my house, my rules.
Speaker: I couldn't do anything about it.
Speaker: He was a baby.
Speaker: Dane.
Speaker: When I was four years old, you flipped the four-wheeler onto me while you jumped to safety like you knew it was coming.
Speaker: Tell the jury, were you trying to kill me in that instance?
Speaker: Slade, I was not trying to kill you.
Speaker: I would never, never try to do that.
Speaker: I was trying to show you that I'm really cool.
Speaker: Turns out I wasn't, but I was trying to prove to you and more importantly to myself that I was cool.
Speaker: And let's be honest, I wasn't.
Speaker: But Slade, let's bring it back to that day.
Speaker: We flipped the four-wheeler.
Speaker: What happened?
Speaker: I flew off.
Speaker: You ended up under the four-wheeler.
Speaker: And I was scared that I couldn't pull you out from under it.
Speaker: So what did I do?
Speaker: I ran my fat ass a half mile to go get some help because I was worried about you.
Speaker: That's what I did.
Speaker: You know me, Slade.
Speaker: You know me better than anybody else.
Speaker: I don't run.
Speaker: Never have, never will.
Speaker: But I ran that day, boy.
Speaker: I ran that day.
Speaker: Eric, when I was younger, the coolest kids were the ones that came out of the pep rally with one of those miniature gold footballs.
Speaker: Despite being the starting quarterback at Vega for three years, you never once threw a pep rally ball my way.
Speaker: Tell the jury, who exactly did you throw to instead?
Speaker: All right, if I'm being honest, Slade,
Speaker: My favorite kid around that age was Ty Goldie.
Speaker: He was very respectful.
Speaker: He said, yes, sir.
Speaker: No, sir.
Speaker: He said it a lot, Slade.
Speaker: He said it a lot.
Speaker: You were my second favorite behind Ty.
Speaker: You were number two.
Speaker: You were my second favorite behind him.
Speaker: You didn't... You... Uh-oh.
Speaker: This is not going well.
Speaker: That's all I have to say about that.
Speaker: Well...
Speaker: Yeah, well, I probably should kiss up to the guy that's going to get you an extra wing rather than your coworkers right now.
Speaker: Brent, you've been known as a man that will consistently post what's better than this at your times of peak joy.
Speaker: Explain to the jury why you have never made a post like that when I'm in your presence.
Speaker: Am I not a person you find joy in being around?
Speaker: That's not it at all, Slade.
Speaker: There's so many times where we have a lot of fun together.
Speaker: You know, sometimes when we're together, I just don't have my phone in the vicinity.
Speaker: For example, the other night at our little Christmas gathering, my phone was dead at the time, so I couldn't do it.
Speaker: And that's why I haven't done it.
Speaker: But that's just the only occasion.
Speaker: I mean, every other time we just have so much fun.
Speaker: I mean, what's better than being on this podcast with you?
Speaker: That's what I'm saying.
Speaker: That's the question right there.
Speaker: How often do you miss this podcast, Brent?
Speaker: Dane, shut up.
Speaker: It's not your turn to talk.
Speaker: Dane, in the past, you have said that you were the better athlete and that your team would have kicked our ass head to head.
Speaker: Tell me, in front of the jury and all of our viewers, do you still believe that you are the better athlete and that your team would have kicked our ass head to head?
Speaker: Slade, I think we were very different athletes.
Speaker: I think that we were both great in what we did.
Speaker: We're...
Speaker: You went to regionals in track.
Speaker: I think everybody out there listening, anybody who hadn't even seen me, they already know that I could never have done that.
Speaker: You did something that I never did, Slade.
Speaker: I think that we are both great athletes.
Speaker: I think that we are both very, very elite specimens in this world.
Speaker: And I'm going to give you a little bit of the edge, Slade.
Speaker: I think that we are very different athletes, but I think you would, if we're going athlete to athlete, I think that you would have a slight edge over me.
Speaker: Eric, growing up, the Roarbox were devoted Red Raider fans.
Speaker: Somewhere along the lines, you chose to transfer their loyalty by attending Texas A&M.
Speaker: Tell me and the jury, do you regret this decision to transfer their allegiance to A&M and depart from all Texas Tech Red Raider affiliates?
Speaker: Slade, I think that Texas Tech University is a fine establishment that produces great –
Speaker: alumni and people that are fit for the world.
Speaker: And I think it's a fine establishment.
Speaker: It was not meant for me, and I don't regret my decision of where I attended college, and I'm proud of my siblings for following suit, but I don't hold – there's still a special place in my heart for Texas Tech, as you know from this draft.
Speaker: I've drafted a lot of Texas Tech Red Raiders in a lot of these drafts that we've had.
Speaker: There's –
Speaker: You can tell there's a special place deep down for a lot of those old Red Raiders, Red Raider days.
Speaker: I think it's a fine establishment, Slade.
Speaker: Brent, last question before we send it to a vote.
Speaker: When I drank my first beer with you and Dane in the basement, you told me that it was a good idea to try the vodka.
Speaker: Knowing that vodka is one of the worst things to drink straight, tell me and the jury what outcomes were you hoping for?
Speaker: Slade, I was trying to do that to look out for you.
Speaker: It's one of those things where I wanted you to have that experience with people taking care of you and people you know you can rely on to make sure you are home safe and take care of you instead of doing that with people, strangers out on the streets or at a party where they might not take care of you.
Speaker: I wanted you to have that experience so that it didn't happen at a bad time later in life.
Speaker: So I think because of that experience, you matured and you grew and you knew not to do that in public with people that you couldn't count on to take care of you.
Speaker: So I was only trying to teach you a valuable lesson of responsibility and maturity right there.
Speaker: Well, ladies and gentlemen, you've heard it from the candidates themselves.
Speaker: I'll go get the votes.
Speaker: First vote.
Speaker: Brent.
Speaker: Slade, I have a question.
Speaker: We don't want our names called in this because Survivor makes it a little bass-ackwards.
Speaker: I'm wondering... Whoever gets the most votes is eating the wing.
Speaker: Okay, that's what I thought.
Speaker: Just making sure.
Speaker: And keep in mind, there is six votes total.
Speaker: So, that's one vote Brent, five votes remaining.
Speaker: Next vote.
Speaker: Dane, that's one vote Brent, one vote Dane.
Speaker: Dane, that's two votes Dane, one vote Brent, three votes left.
Speaker: Eric, that's one vote Brent, two votes Dane, and one vote Eric, two votes left.
Speaker: Brent.
Speaker: That is two votes Brent, two votes Dane, one vote Eric, and one vote left.
Speaker: Ladies and gentlemen, your 2024 survivor Blazing Wing's loser is Brent.
Speaker: Brent will be eating Blazing Wing in 2024 with his brother Eric.
Speaker: Ladies and gentlemen, that is 2024 Survivor Blazing Wings here on the Triplette Podcast.
Speaker: Brent, take us away.
Speaker: Banger of the Week.
Speaker: This is bullshit.
Speaker: This game was rigged.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Well, thanks a lot, Slade.
Speaker: This week's Banger of the Week...
Speaker: It has been mentioned already.
Speaker: It's going to be stays in Mexico by Toby Keith, an absolute banger.
Speaker: It'll really get the Super Bowl Sunday weekend kicked off.
Speaker: Catch me eating wings this weekend, maybe getting a little mild in there to prepare for this wing.
Speaker: You know what?
Speaker: I wouldn't want to go down.
Speaker: down this road with anyone else, Eric.
Speaker: I love you.
Speaker: F these Borman brothers.
Speaker: This is bullshit.
Speaker: We're out.
Speaker: We'll see you next week.
Speaker: Enjoy the Super Bowl.
Speaker: His name was Steve.
Speaker: Her name was Tina.
Speaker: They met at a bar called Cabo, Cabo Cantina.
Speaker: He was an insurance salesman from South Dakota.
Speaker: She was a first grade school teacher, Phoenix, Arizona.
Speaker: You started dancing and it got real hot.
Speaker: Then it spilled over to the back of the house.
Speaker: More and more to kill and they were falling in love.
Speaker: More and more to never.
Speaker: Don't bite off more than you can chew.
Speaker: This ain't sound here.
Speaker: The devil himself wouldn't do.
Speaker: Just remember when you let it all go.
Speaker: What happened down in Mexico?
Speaker: It's Dave in Mexico.
Speaker: He woke up in the morning and he made a little telephone call.
Speaker: To check on his wife and his kids back at home.
Speaker: And so far.
Speaker: Hopped right in the shower with a heavy headless mind.
Speaker: Healing was the first time Tina had ever crossed that line.
Speaker: They walked out to the beach and started drinking again.
Speaker: Jumped down to the ocean for a dirty swim.
Speaker: Stay the Mexico.
Speaker: New Mexico.
Speaker: Ridden at the bar at the terminal gate.
Speaker: She said, Steve, I gotta go.
Speaker: I'm gonna miss my brain.
Speaker: He said, one more tequila for you.
Speaker: She said, one more to them.
Speaker: Oh, boy, you can chew.
Speaker: It's the ain't sound here.
Speaker: The devil himself wouldn't do.
Speaker: Just remember when you let it all go.
Speaker: What happens down in Mexico.
Speaker: He stays in Mexico.
Speaker: He stays in Mexico.
Speaker: He stays in Mexico.
Speaker: He stays in Mexico.
Speaker: Bye.
