Speaker: Ladies and gentlemen, we're drawing to a close in the NFL season, but more importantly, the wings of death are staring us in the face.

Speaker: We're shaking in our boots, baby.

Speaker: Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to viciously chug and pound some beers because we're freaking downright scared over here because it is a down-to-the-wire, all-out bear crawl towards last place for all four people here on this podcast tonight.

Speaker: It's me, Eric, and Brent Roebuck, and then Dane Brorman, the man, the myth, the legend over there with a – like he showed me before –

Speaker: What does it say again, Dane?

Speaker: A trophy husband t-shirt.

Speaker: Yeah, right.

Speaker: We know he bought that for himself.

Speaker: Grace did not get him that.

Speaker: And here is Brent with his lovely wife bringing him some hot tea here on this cold and wet Wednesday.

Speaker: We are so excited to be here.

Speaker: And by the way, Brent, it's good to have you back.

Speaker: This is the first time that you've been back on the podcast today.

Speaker: uh since i won the challenge you know the one where i get to decide who gets to eat an extra wing of the blazing hot wings so it's good to have you back brent do you have anything to add here you're looking very handsome today slade it could have came a little harder but it's all right um anyways boys do we eric how was your week how is your how are you doing over there

Speaker: It was a great, great week, Slade.

Speaker: Got a little moisture today, not much.

Speaker: We still got some chances Friday, so we're just hoping we can get a little rain going into the weekend.

Speaker: We can kick our feet up, watch a little championship Sunday football.

Speaker: And as you mentioned, there's a lot on the line going into this weekend.

Speaker: I have been so nervous all week long about this, especially because I'm so glad.

Speaker: Like, I felt really good last week when I knew I took the same bet as Brent.

Speaker: I just had a little more cushion.

Speaker: But now it's even better because we got another guy.

Speaker: We got Eric Brent.

Speaker: I will say at first I was so upset with how that worked out, but honestly, I had myself to blame for being so predictable, but I would not have it any other way.

Speaker: Going into the final week, all four of us have,

Speaker: Have a chance to lose this bet, and I am fired up.

Speaker: I never dreamed.

Speaker: I am thrilled to be in the situation I'm in right now.

Speaker: I know I still have a very solid chance of having to eat these wings, but if you were to ask me six weeks ago if I could be in this spot, oh, I'm thrilled to be here.

Speaker: So excited.

Speaker: Very nervous about my bet.

Speaker: I don't know if I feel great about it.

Speaker: It's a toss-up, but, oh, this is going to be fun.

Speaker: This is absolutely electric and iconic, baby.

Speaker: I'll tell you what.

Speaker: What's so funny is Brent has gotten burned so bad for missing the podcast.

Speaker: Like, it has hurt him tremendously missing this deal.

Speaker: But it does the opposite for Chad.

Speaker: I mean, even Slade made Chad's pick, and he still freaking won.

Speaker: Maybe that's what Brent should have done is just let Brent pick the entire time.

Speaker: But –

Speaker: Brent, I got to ask you, and Eric, you can answer this too.

Speaker: How mad is Anna right now that both of her boys are losing to two Brorman boys right now?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: She's probably not happy with this.

Speaker: We'll hear it at some point.

Speaker: That's a very good point.

Speaker: I've been scared to talk to her today because I'm scared she's going to rip me.

Speaker: Just don't forget, you are Roarbox.

Speaker: You don't lose.

Speaker: The Roarbox got ice in their veins unless your name is Brent and then you got hot tea flowing through those veins.

Speaker: So – Bethany thinks she's so funny.

Speaker: She's like – she literally said, I'm going to wait until you start the podcast and then I'm going to make the biggest deal about it.

Speaker: So she thinks she's funny but she's not.

Speaker: I think it's so funny that you're drinking some hot tea, and I looked in my fridge, and I didn't have anything left but some Budweiser.

Speaker: So you're drinking hot tea, and I'm drinking some Bud Heavies.

Speaker: We're on complete opposite ends of the spectrum here.

Speaker: I'm telling you, the hot tea is gaining ground.

Speaker: I have friends Snapchatting me now.

Speaker: They're drinking it every evening.

Speaker: Don't sleep on the hot tea, y'all.

Speaker: Give it a shot.

Speaker: That kind of reminds me of when Brent decided that he was going to start wearing watches.

Speaker: I remember back in the day when Brent decided that a G-Shock was the coolest thing to ever be worn.

Speaker: And so now he got everybody on the trend.

Speaker: I went and bought a G-Shock.

Speaker: I thought it was really cool.

Speaker: I don't think I'm going to start drinking the hot tea, but hell, who knows?

Speaker: Brent is kind of a trendsetter.

Speaker: And if he's not a trendsetter, I might have to go dig out the Bud Heavies to follow our guy Eric over there.

Speaker: So Bud Heavies coming in for the win.

Speaker: Eric, you talked a little bit about the moisture, a little bit of rain, a little bit of sprinkles there.

Speaker: But I guess whenever you're a Chargers fan, whenever it rains, it pours.

Speaker: Our guy Chadillac Fangman out there finally got his dream guy to take over the ropes for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Speaker: It is official.

Speaker: According to Adam Schefter's report, Jim Harbaugh will be the next head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

Speaker: Justin Herbert finally got his quarterback guru, and they will finally have the dynamic leader at the helm, the guy that everybody wanted, an offensive mind who has had success everywhere he's been.

Speaker: What are y'all's initial thoughts?

Speaker: I mean, obviously, we all feel like they absolutely nailed it.

Speaker: But, Eric, does this kind of put a little bit more danger into, you know, the powerhouses that we've seen in the AFC?

Speaker: You know, we saw that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs company, Andy Reid and all of them, were still able to win even though –

Speaker: The Bills were white hot.

Speaker: Josh Allen was playing some of his best football.

Speaker: Are you a little bit surprised that Jim Harbaugh would go into a division that is so heavily stacked and then also a conference in the AFC that is so heavily stacked?

Speaker: Yeah, that's a great point because going into that division, that's tough right there with Patrick Mahomes because he's not going anywhere for a long time.

Speaker: But when you look at all the job openings and you look at all the talent on that roster and then when you look at the quarterback, there's a no-brainer that that is the one that you're like, okay, we can take this a lot of places.

Speaker: And the AFC is stacked with young quarterbacks, but –

Speaker: I mean, there's good quarterbacks everywhere.

Speaker: Like CJ Stroud came out of nowhere this year and him and D'Amico Ryans make the run that they made.

Speaker: Jordan Love and the NFC, like it can be done.

Speaker: Like those teams show that it could be done.

Speaker: But the one thing that I think is cool about Jim Harbaugh is I just think it's so baller to walk out on top.

Speaker: Like, I just think that's the ultimate mic drop.

Speaker: F-U-N-C-A-A.

Speaker: Like to me, I'm not a huge Harbaugh fan.

Speaker: And I definitely don't like Michigan.

Speaker: But to me, it's just like, it was like, okay, that was cool.

Speaker: Like it's a mic drop, walk away from it all as a champion and just kind of say like, I did it.

Speaker: I won.

Speaker: I was the best.

Speaker: And now I'm moving on to the NFL, like green or grass.

Speaker: To me, that was a baller move on his part.

Speaker: I thought it looked really cool.

Speaker: I agree.

Speaker: That is kind of a baller move, but you know, when he went to Michigan, everybody's like, oh yeah, it's obvious.

Speaker: He wants to go play for his alma mater.

Speaker: That's his school or whatever.

Speaker: And like, yes, he did bring them a championship, the first championship since like 96 or 98 or something like that.

Speaker: It's been a long time.

Speaker: So he brought them that championship.

Speaker: So that's great.

Speaker: Great for him.

Speaker: But he, I mean, he put Michigan in such a tough spot, unless they were already planning to promote within.

Speaker: I can't remember the guy's name that took his spot whenever he missed those four or five games or whatever, but

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I thought it was just kind of weird that he drug it on.

Speaker: I thought he was kind of just going to use it as leverage to get a big contract for Michigan.

Speaker: But I don't blame him for wanting to go to the NFL.

Speaker: Big money.

Speaker: Don't have to deal with the NIL BS.

Speaker: But one thing I do got to say is this kind of feels like he's the new Belichick.

Speaker: You know, he gets suspended throughout the games and he still just keeps on winning, baby.

Speaker: To your point, Dane, all I was going to add to that is, like, I was trying to put myself in their shoes, and I was kind of like, okay, if – like, let's say if it was Elko, and he came and he – we had ten good years, but he gave us national championship, and then he screwed us for, like, the next five.

Speaker: I'd be like – I'd be okay with that.

Speaker: Like, I would trade that today if we was a guaranteed national championship.

Speaker: You know what I mean?

Speaker: So, like, I think if you're a Michigan fan, okay, yeah, you're kind of like –

Speaker: Well, buzzkill, like whatever, but you just came off a freaking national championship.

Speaker: Like you can't be too upset because I would, I would trade almost anything for that.

Speaker: That's a great point, Eric, because I mean, I think all of us are in that spot to where we would trade.

Speaker: You know, I forget who it was.

Speaker: I think it was Mike Vrabel that said he cut off one of his nuts if he could win the Super Bowl or something like that.

Speaker: He said something wild on Bustwood's Voice.

Speaker: But I feel like we all have that kind of mentality where we're like, we will go through misery, you know, as fans for a long time if we can have that one peak.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Ohio State, I don't know if y'all pay attention to their recruiting and all that stuff, but they have been absolutely lighting it up.

Speaker: I mean, they are stealing every best player off of Alabama in the portal.

Speaker: I mean, all their guys are just number one guys.

Speaker: And then all of a sudden, Harbaugh says, I did it all.

Speaker: I want it all.

Speaker: I'm leaving.

Speaker: And he's going to take, supposedly, the defensive coordinator, Jesse Minter, with him.

Speaker: So not only are they losing Coach Harbaugh, but a great defensive coordinator in Jesse Minter.

Speaker: Sharon Moore, the offensive coordinator, will likely take over as the head coach.

Speaker: But you know that there's going to be a downfall.

Speaker: And so next year, when Ohio State beats Michigan, or beats them handedly even,

Speaker: everybody's going to say, well, obviously, you know, Harbaugh left, Jesse Minter left.

Speaker: We had the most seniors in division one football last year.

Speaker: They all left.

Speaker: Like who cares?

Speaker: We won the national championship.

Speaker: Piss off.

Speaker: Immediately everything gets discredited and Ryan day does not get near as much love as he would have with Harbaugh being there.

Speaker: Slade.

Speaker: I completely agree with you.

Speaker: I never even thought of that.

Speaker: So let's paint the picture next year.

Speaker: I think Michigan's got to go to Ohio state.

Speaker: If I'm not mistaken, I'm not mistaken.

Speaker: They play, and Michigan still wins.

Speaker: Ryan Day loses again without Harbaugh.

Speaker: Does he get on the bus?

Speaker: Does he make it to the locker room, or is he out?

Speaker: Brent, what do you think?

Speaker: Oh, 100% out.

Speaker: You have – what just blows me away is this Ohio State team.

Speaker: So they lose to Michigan, and that is the season.

Speaker: The season's over for them.

Speaker: It does not matter.

Speaker: They will go lose one game a year, and if it's Michigan, they're calling for the head coach.

Speaker: It just blows me away how –

Speaker: Every single one of us here would love to go and go 11-1.

Speaker: We would love that.

Speaker: We'd be ecstatic.

Speaker: But not Ohio State fans.

Speaker: They are different over there.

Speaker: And props to them.

Speaker: The success they have every year, it's incredible.

Speaker: But they're literally, this year, we're calling for Ryan Day's head already.

Speaker: So if he goes and loses next year, three years in a row, there is no shot he's the head coach.

Speaker: I cannot wait to hear what Lou Holtz has to say whenever that happens.

Speaker: I was just about to say that, Dave.

Speaker: I was going to say Ryan Day is extremely unlikable, first off.

Speaker: I hate everything about Ohio State, but I especially hate someone that curses out Lou Holtz.

Speaker: Lizzle to the treasure.

Speaker: Get off his back, Ryan Day.

Speaker: I think the only thing that could save him next year is that he has the 12-team playoff to where even if he does lose one game, there's still a good chance that they get in.

Speaker: So that's kind of the only thing that will save him and other coaches like him in the situation where they can't get over the hump.

Speaker: at least you have a better odd to get into the fight at the end of the year.

Speaker: But ultimately, this is today.

Speaker: Today is and this next week.

Speaker: Every talk show will be talking about Harbaugh and the Chargers and how great they are going to be now that Justin Herbert finally has a competent coach to go with.

Speaker: Brent, Dane, Eric, each of y'all, I want to hear your predictions.

Speaker: How long, if ever, will the Chargers until the Chargers are in the Super Bowl?

Speaker: I feel like Chad always says, and he knows it better than anybody around here, the Chargers are cursed.

Speaker: I mean, they've had all the right pieces.

Speaker: I can't remember what year it was, but back in the day when they had Phillip Rivers,

Speaker: They had the number one rated offense and the number one rated defense, and they missed the playoffs.

Speaker: Like, it is just crazy.

Speaker: I want the Chargers to be good.

Speaker: I love Justin Herbert.

Speaker: I've always liked him.

Speaker: I've thought he's been just absolutely outstanding, and I want it for Chad.

Speaker: But I don't know.

Speaker: That division's tough.

Speaker: That conference is tough.

Speaker: I mean, if Harbaugh can get in there and turn around, if his D.C.

Speaker: can do what he did at Michigan,

Speaker: and turn them into an elite defense and have Justin Herbert and those weapons on offense, I could see them making a good run for multiple years to come.

Speaker: Yeah, that's a hard question, Slade.

Speaker: It's hard for me to say two or three years just because of how difficult the AFC is to get through.

Speaker: I want to say two or three years, but man, there's just, I just don't know if that's possible.

Speaker: I have no idea.

Speaker: And you were talking about all their cap hits and how the future is not looking great for all those contracts coming up.

Speaker: So that's a great question.

Speaker: For Chadillac's sake, I'm going to say two years.

Speaker: It is a great question, Slade, because you talk about all the – we've talked about all the quarterbacks in the AFC and the gauntlet that you have to go through.

Speaker: Like if you're just going to assume the Chiefs are going to win that division, well, then a wild card – like a wild card in the AFC is going to have to win 10 or 11 games.

Speaker: That's what it's going to take to get there.

Speaker: Like that's a great season.

Speaker: So that's going to be really, really tough sledding.

Speaker: Cause like, I mean, Joe Burrow will be back healthy next year.

Speaker: Trevor Lawrence, they're going to rebound.

Speaker: They kind of had a one-off CJ Stroud's not going anywhere.

Speaker: We know Patrick Mahomes not going anywhere.

Speaker: Josh Allen's not going anywhere.

Speaker: Lamar Jackson's coming back.

Speaker: I mean, the Browns are still stacked.

Speaker: Like it's, you just look at it.

Speaker: It's mind blowing how tough the AFC is.

Speaker: So I'm rooting for him.

Speaker: Cause I'm like you, Dane, Justin Herbert,

Speaker: And he's like one of my top three or four players in the NFL right now.

Speaker: But they got to do something because that prime only lasts so long.

Speaker: He's just right in his prime and they got to hurry up.

Speaker: Y'all nailed it on the head.

Speaker: It's a lot harder to get to the Super Bowl than anybody could ever state.

Speaker: You can do everything right all year, all offseason.

Speaker: Build your team the exact perfect way.

Speaker: And any given Sunday, your team can go out and lay an egg.

Speaker: We've seen it, and we're not going to poke fun at who we're talking about here, but I'm just saying, it happens.

Speaker: And one team that unfortunately...

Speaker: This team didn't lay an egg, but then you look at Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker: They have done everything right.

Speaker: They got back to what it took to play winning football.

Speaker: And Josh Allen was taking care of the ball.

Speaker: They were running the ball efficiently.

Speaker: They were white hot on fire ever since the Coach McDermott, Sean McDermott, stuff came out about him saying some wild stuff in the locker room.

Speaker: They've been on a freaking tear ever since.

Speaker: And on attack mode, as you could say, they are absolutely full on attack mode.

Speaker: And they still, any given Sunday, just were that close.

Speaker: And every year is that close.

Speaker: Is this just another one of those years?

Speaker: Is this starting to feel to y'all like it is to me where it's one of those years where the Patriots weren't as good?

Speaker: Tom Brady didn't kind of look up to stuff like he had in the years before.

Speaker: Julian Edelman just wasn't good enough to carry this team.

Speaker: They don't really have any number one threats.

Speaker: The defense is carrying them for the most part, but they're just not dynamic enough.

Speaker: Is this just another one of those years, Dane, where the Chiefs just win because they just find a way to win in spots like this?

Speaker: What did this game say about that?

Speaker: What this game said to me is that this will always be the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker: This will always be the Josh Allen era in Buffalo.

Speaker: Because Eric said it last week, like, when are you going to have a better chance to beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs?

Speaker: You're at home, they're having a down year, and they still couldn't get it done.

Speaker: Josh Allen, I'm pretty sure this was his only game without an interception, if I'm remembering correctly.

Speaker: And they still lost the game.

Speaker: I thought Josh Allen played great.

Speaker: I thought their play calling was terrible, terrible in the fourth quarter.

Speaker: And their special teams, obviously awful.

Speaker: What the hell was that make-a-wish bullshit fake punt to DeMar Hamlin?

Speaker: That was absolutely terrible.

Speaker: I don't know what they were thinking.

Speaker: They're trying their best to get him the comeback player of the year because Joe Flacco was about to come in and steal it, but now DeMar Hamlin's probably going to get it.

Speaker: I was just blown away that they actually lost that game, and I couldn't believe it.

Speaker: Brenton?

Speaker: Yeah, I agree.

Speaker: For one, I want to give Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs some credit.

Speaker: His sixth year in the league is a starter, and he has made it to the AFC Championship six times.

Speaker: That is awesome.

Speaker: That's very impressive.

Speaker: That is cool.

Speaker: But then to kind of flip on the other side as far as the Bills, I completely agree.

Speaker: I just don't understand there at the end how I'm not even mad.

Speaker: I've been kind of defending –

Speaker: Josh Allen this week of like, there's only so much he can do.

Speaker: And so that throw where he kind of got hit as he threw going to the end zone, I'm not upset with that throw.

Speaker: But what I'm upset about is how people are blaming the kicker.

Speaker: Like,

Speaker: He makes that field goal.

Speaker: They had a minute and 43 seconds left on the clock.

Speaker: Are you stupid?

Speaker: Patrick Mahomes did it with 13 seconds.

Speaker: He has a minute and 43 seconds this time.

Speaker: You don't think he's going to go and get a field goal?

Speaker: I mean, to think that you can escape that game with that, you've got to be thinking touchdowns.

Speaker: And Eric said it, he said it best in a text when we were all texting.

Speaker: He said that the Bills either got to, you know, kick the field goal as time expires or touchdown.

Speaker: And you can't say it any better than that.

Speaker: I don't understand what they were thinking there.

Speaker: That was embarrassing.

Speaker: I feel bad for Josh Allen.

Speaker: I truly do.

Speaker: Like, I really don't put that loss on him.

Speaker: And you got him having to deal with Stefan Diggs being a freaking diva all the time.

Speaker: Like,

Speaker: I just feel so bad for Josh Allen.

Speaker: I hate it for him.

Speaker: Yeah, I totally agree.

Speaker: I thought the Bills totally blew it.

Speaker: When it was the two-minute warning and it's second and nine, it's like you just said.

Speaker: That's what my mind was.

Speaker: It was like, okay, you go score a touchdown here or kick a field goal with time expiring.

Speaker: And I thought to myself before it came out of the commercial, I said, this should be Josh Allen running the ball.

Speaker: four or five straight times.

Speaker: I mean, that's what it would have been if I was drawing that up.

Speaker: It would have been a QB draw, rolling him out, giving him options to either complete a short easy pass or Josh Allen running the ball every single play.

Speaker: And that's what – when they take the kill shot and he tries to throw it to the end zone, I get it.

Speaker: The guy was open.

Speaker: And if Chris Jones doesn't put pressure on him, I get that's probably a touchdown.

Speaker: But I'm still with you, Brent.

Speaker: Patrick Mahomes going to score a touchdown with two minutes left.

Speaker: So –

Speaker: if you're going to take a shot at the end zone, why did you do it then?

Speaker: Like you, there was, I just don't understand what the, what the rush.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I thought the play column was horrible.

Speaker: So let me ask you guys this.

Speaker: Like, is it just a thing of destiny?

Speaker: Like, are some guys like was Tom Brady, uh,

Speaker: Like, was he just lucky or was he just that guy that just always won?

Speaker: Like, is Patrick Mahomes just that dude?

Speaker: Like, he's just always going to find a way.

Speaker: Is like Josh Allen just not that dude?

Speaker: Or is it just the way that things happen sometimes?

Speaker: It's so crazy that Josh Allen has been this unlucky because he is a freak of nature.

Speaker: Slade?

Speaker: I do think that there are special people that just overcome and win in moments like that.

Speaker: I felt like the whole game obviously was back and forth.

Speaker: I can't forget.

Speaker: I can't believe how many lead changes we had in that game.

Speaker: It was insane back and forth level type game.

Speaker: And the whole time, truly my gut feeling, I'm going to sound like LeBron, you know, whenever he says all his BS.

Speaker: But truthfully, the whole time I felt like,

Speaker: This is just like one of those games that it feels like the Chiefs always find a way to win.

Speaker: Like this just feels like a game where the Chiefs somehow win it in the end.

Speaker: And then whenever that fake punt happened, I was like, okay, so this is the play where we're going to be like, you know, we always went back to Tom Brady's games and we're like, oh, the offsides on Justin Houston.

Speaker: If he doesn't do that, the Chiefs go on to win that game.

Speaker: You know, it's always those little plays that just seem to work out.

Speaker: I was like, okay, this is the Chiefs play for this Bills game.

Speaker: Well, then they turn around and give it to McCall Hardman on the goal line.

Speaker: I don't understand that still.

Speaker: And either dude fumbled that out of the back of the end zone.

Speaker: I was like, well, holy shit, maybe this is one of the Josh Allen moments.

Speaker: And I started believing it in the other way.

Speaker: And the Chiefs just have that gut feeling to them.

Speaker: And I think that...

Speaker: You have the special players who just play better in the postseason.

Speaker: Travis Kelsey is a big part of that.

Speaker: The dude has been a ghost the last half of the regular season.

Speaker: In the postseason, has absolutely turned it on, especially the last game.

Speaker: Two touchdowns came up big in the biggest moments.

Speaker: I think they just have that championship culture where even their young guys, no moment ever feels too big for them, and I think that's a big part of it.

Speaker: How good your early success is determines how good of a franchise you will be because you can look back on those moments and say, we've been here.

Speaker: And those are what puts you over the top more than anything because it's not only the special players, but it's the players who don't shrink.

Speaker: They don't get pressured because they've been there.

Speaker: They've done that.

Speaker: And they know they'll probably do it again in the future.

Speaker: I completely agree with you, Slade.

Speaker: You said all the right things there.

Speaker: I think the main thing is it comes down

Speaker: For one, your playmaker, your quarterback.

Speaker: Padraic Mahomes is the best in the league right now.

Speaker: Josh Allen, he's not far behind.

Speaker: He makes a lot of stupid, stupid decisions that he is not a bad quarterback by any means.

Speaker: I think mainly it comes down to Andy Reid versus Sean McDermott.

Speaker: Andy Reid is just, he can flat out just coach.

Speaker: I think that's where it comes to play.

Speaker: I don't know how much longer he's going to stick in it.

Speaker: I'm so – I can't wait to see what Mahomes can do after that and see who they have taken his spot.

Speaker: One thing that I thought was hilarious was Josh Allen.

Speaker: He was on just a local radio show the day after they lost.

Speaker: They were asking him, like, how do you cope with this loss?

Speaker: And he said, hey, it sucks in the moment.

Speaker: Losing always sucks.

Speaker: It hurts for a few days, but we all woke up this morning.

Speaker: It's all going to be good.

Speaker: Someone tweeted back to that quote and said, I would say that same shit if I woke up next to Haley Steinfeld every morning because that is so damn funny.

Speaker: But, Slade, you brought up that Nicole Hardman frumble into the end zone.

Speaker: I want to get y'all's opinions on this.

Speaker: Is that the dumbest rule of football or is that the greatest rule of football?

Speaker: Brent, what do you think?

Speaker: I got to be honest.

Speaker: I hate the rule.

Speaker: I think it is the dumbest rule ever.

Speaker: It bothers me.

Speaker: But what does also bother me is that every year it happens –

Speaker: Every year.

Speaker: This happens every year, as weird as it, you know, it's a crazy scenario.

Speaker: But it happens every single year.

Speaker: And it bothers me that this year, after it happens to the Chiefs, now everyone's like, oh, it's got to change.

Speaker: Like, no, it's got to change right now.

Speaker: I just think it's kind of annoying.

Speaker: But I agree with them.

Speaker: I hate that rule.

Speaker: Change it.

Speaker: I don't get it.

Speaker: I also hate the rule just because I've been on the wrong side of it more than I've been on the right side.

Speaker: It seems like the team that I'm pulling for does that more often than the team I'm going against.

Speaker: So I also hate it because of that.

Speaker: I'm 1 million percent against y'all.

Speaker: I love the rule, and I think it's going to be dumb if they do take it out because then you're just going to have guys that are just basically flinging the ball, you know, like slinging every body part or every body part willy-nilly.

Speaker: Like it just is another thing that's going to go right for the offense.

Speaker: It's an offensive league where we want to see points.

Speaker: I get it.

Speaker: But it is just one of the most game-changing defensive plays a person can make other than a pick six or a sack on fourth down and, you know, whatever it may be.

Speaker: But that rule feels just like the right thing to leave in to keep a little bit of odds in your defense's favor down at the end.

Speaker: It's so hard to score on the goal line, and that's why we've seen all these crazy, unique, like ring around the rosy, all these shovel pass up the middle plays by Andy Reid because –

Speaker: It takes some being clever down on the goal line.

Speaker: You have to be buttoned up and you have to be efficient down there.

Speaker: And I think you're just giving people a lot easier out and making it easier on them by taking rules like this away.

Speaker: I love the rule.

Speaker: I'm going to be kind of pissed if they take it away, but it's an offensive league and that's how it works.

Speaker: Slade, I'm more with you.

Speaker: I don't love the rule, but I definitely don't hate it.

Speaker: I think you're right.

Speaker: I think if they do take it away, it's just going to be a crazy amount of BS that people can do to try and go score because there's really no penalty.

Speaker: You take it back to the 25 fresh set of downs.

Speaker: I mean, what's that really going to hurt you?

Speaker: You still got a good chance to score.

Speaker: I really just think that it's way harder to play defense than it is to play offense.

Speaker: It's just kind of how I've always thought of it.

Speaker: So I think –

Speaker: Giving the defense any kind of advantage, especially when you get down to there, makes it so much more interesting.

Speaker: Nailed it.

Speaker: Couldn't have said it better myself.

Speaker: Moving on to the other AFC game.

Speaker: The Ravens took care of the Texans, and I don't think anybody was shocked at this outcome.

Speaker: They really pulled away in the second half.

Speaker: Now we're going to watch the Ravens play the Chiefs.

Speaker: And we talked a little bit about it.

Speaker: Eric, you just talked about it.

Speaker: Is this, you know, Team of Destiny or whatever it is?

Speaker: Well, Lamar finally got, you know, a good playoff win against a very white-hot Houston Texans team.

Speaker: Eric, does that change your opinions on playoff Lamar?

Speaker: He had a great second half, or does it still only matter what he does against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game?

Speaker: They played a great game.

Speaker: They honestly did.

Speaker: But I'm still – y'all know my feeling on the Ravens, and I'm sticking with it.

Speaker: I've got to see it to believe it.

Speaker: But one thing that I just noticed so much in these playoffs, you have to be able to run the ball.

Speaker: Like your team has to be good at running the ball.

Speaker: The Cowboys, horrible at it, right?

Speaker: Like we just – we're all – like you've got to throw the ball over the place.

Speaker: The Texans, I feel like, fell into that.

Speaker: Like, they're vertical passing.

Speaker: They throw the ball like crazy.

Speaker: And the wind was blowing so bad there at Baltimore that you could tell it was affecting the game.

Speaker: I just feel like you have to be able to run the ball.

Speaker: And that's what the Ravens are really good at.

Speaker: So, like, if you're a team that can run the ball well, Pacheco's running well for the Chiefs.

Speaker: Like, the Bills ran the ball really well.

Speaker: Obviously, McCaffrey on the other side, like –

Speaker: That's the one thing, like, you look at the Lions.

Speaker: I'm kind of all over the place here.

Speaker: But, like, that's the one thing I took away from this last couple of weekends is you have to be able to run the ball well when this weather gets nasty.

Speaker: And the Chiefs have done that well this year.

Speaker: But some of those other teams are a little nervous for this next weekend.

Speaker: Brent?

Speaker: Okay, this is kind of way off topic, Slade.

Speaker: I'm sorry I'm getting away from the original question.

Speaker: But Eric, what you said just kind of made me want to ask you guys this.

Speaker: It's kind of a loaded question.

Speaker: So one, do you guys feel, I personally feel like teams who have an outdoor stadium have an advantage when it comes to the playoffs.

Speaker: Because, yes, they can go play in a dome, and obviously the weather doesn't affect them.

Speaker: But if they play outside, they're used to it.

Speaker: So my next kind of question is, you know, they're calling for every stadium to be in a dome or every playoff game to be played in a dome.

Speaker: Do you all agree with that?

Speaker: Do you disagree?

Speaker: What are your thoughts on the whole outdoor games and bad weather versus, you know, perfect weather under a dome?

Speaker: I agree.

Speaker: I will hate it if everybody goes to a dome.

Speaker: I love weather being a factor.

Speaker: I was so mad whenever they canceled the Buffalo game because of the snow.

Speaker: Why can we not get more snow games?

Speaker: We don't need less.

Speaker: We need more.

Speaker: If you look at all the stadiums that are uncovered versus covered,

Speaker: all the uncovered, the non-domed stadiums are all up north, and they all get crazy weather because they know it's going to be a factor.

Speaker: They get used to it.

Speaker: You know, you look at Dallas and Houston, L.A., New Orleans, they all have dome stadiums, and they don't necessarily have to have it because, I mean, the weather in Dallas, that's not really going to affect you probably nine times out of ten.

Speaker: And so I think it will be so damn dumb if –

Speaker: They let the – if they get all domes.

Speaker: But, like, if you do – if the non-domed stadiums, they can't ever host a Super Bowl, I get that one a little more because then, you know, if it is uncovered, then Buffalo, if they make it in, they get a way better advantage in cold weather than if they were playing the Rams.

Speaker: You know, just something like that.

Speaker: So I kind of get it.

Speaker: That way it's a little more fair for everybody.

Speaker: But that's just kind of what I think.

Speaker: What do you think, Slade?

Speaker: Pure football answer right there.

Speaker: Good football guy embracing what it means to play football in the elements.

Speaker: Play it as it lies.

Speaker: I do not get the arguments out there that people are like, it is worse for the viewers.

Speaker: It's a worse product.

Speaker: Did all of y'all see any disappointed Buffalo Bills fans having to be out there in the elements?

Speaker: Those dudes were throwing snowballs.

Speaker: It looked like there was just white confetti cannons going off every time they scored.

Speaker: That shit was electric.

Speaker: It was awesome.

Speaker: And the Chiefs fans obviously had a great time with it.

Speaker: I'm fine with you leaving the Super Bowl in a dome.

Speaker: I get that.

Speaker: I get that it is a much bigger thing where you need all of the cameras to be in sync and you need the halftime to move smoothly.

Speaker: So I get that one.

Speaker: But all the other games, let them be out in the weather.

Speaker: Play it as it lies.

Speaker: It's a part of the game.

Speaker: Let it be a part of football forever.

Speaker: What do you think, Weston?

Speaker: Yeah, Weston agrees.

Speaker: He says, play in the snow.

Speaker: But yeah, I think that's a huge part of it.

Speaker: And I was watching this deal with Julian Edelman the other day.

Speaker: He was talking about, you know, Bill Belichick, like their deal at New England, like when the weather was nasty, they practiced even longer.

Speaker: Like that's when they had like their toughest practices was when there was snowing or blizzard or raining.

Speaker: And he used to talk about –

Speaker: And I got to throw this out there at Dane because, you know, Tom Brady is one of my favorite football players.

Speaker: Obviously the GOAT.

Speaker: Peyton Manning is one of obviously Dane's favorite players of all time.

Speaker: He thinks he's the GOAT.

Speaker: But there was a clear advantage between those two players on who could throw a better cold weather football.

Speaker: And it was Tom Brady.

Speaker: And Julian Edelman used to talk about when they were playing Peyton Manning,

Speaker: And all of those games when he was at the Colts and then when he was at the Broncos, Edelman was like, we used to pray that if we were playing a mile high stadium or if we were playing at Gillette, that it was a blizzard.

Speaker: It was snowing.

Speaker: It was coming down sideways because he's like, we knew we were better than them if there was bad weather.

Speaker: Like we knew we had the advantage every single time.

Speaker: And I thought that was so – it was a really, really cool interview.

Speaker: It was super cool to listen to that they had that perspective of like, we pray it's miserable because we're going to beat you.

Speaker: It was really cool to hear.

Speaker: Well, I think Aaron Rodgers said it on a podcast or maybe it was Pat McAfee or something.

Speaker: They asked him if you get used to playing in the cold whenever he was still at Green Bay.

Speaker: They're like, do you ever get used to the cold and it doesn't affect you?

Speaker: He's like, no.

Speaker: You never get used to how cold it is.

Speaker: But you look at the other team, you're like,

Speaker: that MF-er is way colder than I am.

Speaker: So he, like, it kind of motivated him a little bit.

Speaker: He knew that he was in better shape, made him want to play better.

Speaker: I think it just all comes into effect, and it should.

Speaker: We saw the weather affect Brock Purdy a little bit last week, too.

Speaker: They didn't play their best game, but were able to edge one out against the Packers.

Speaker: They're playing again in San Francisco this week.

Speaker: It doesn't look like the weather will be a factor.

Speaker: I think it's going to be a hard-nosed game.

Speaker: We're really excited.

Speaker: But is there anybody in the world rooting for the 49ers?

Speaker: And if they are, should they be beat up on spot?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I think that Eric is secretly rooting for the 49ers because a majority of their key players are white individuals.

Speaker: That is so funny.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: Well, all I'm going to – I'm not going to comment on that.

Speaker: I'm going to comment on last week's game, Slade.

Speaker: The 49ers were tense.

Speaker: They looked like they were playing to not lose, not to win, like the classic.

Speaker: They were tight, and they did not play well.

Speaker: And you saw at the very end, like I thought –

Speaker: When Nick Bosa just fell down and just threw his hands up like, thank you, Jesus.

Speaker: That explained how the 49ers were because they were nervous.

Speaker: I mean, it was crazy.

Speaker: They clearly should have won that game.

Speaker: They were the better team, but not that day.

Speaker: They got outplayed.

Speaker: They got lucky to win that game.

Speaker: They were so, so tight.

Speaker: I was watching that game, and the whole time I just kept thinking, are the Packers really about to go all the way to the NFC Championship?

Speaker: Wouldn't that have been crazy?

Speaker: And then you have the Packers and the Lions, and everybody is –

Speaker: in love with the way that Jordan Love has come onto the scene, especially after we've seen Aaron Rodgers and how he's acted in the media, then you're an even bigger fan for Jordan Love.

Speaker: That would have been a win for the good guys.

Speaker: I know that we're not Packers fans here on this podcast because they, you know, had unfortunately a really great game against the Cowboys, but they were a fun little playoff story.

Speaker: And I mean, you got to tip your cap because that was one of the best coaching jobs.

Speaker: And one of those just, you know,

Speaker: Youngest teams balling out with house money is a lot of fun to watch.

Speaker: And also another team that I think should get some some praise and some love is the Buccaneers.

Speaker: I mean, they nobody they were picked to be in the top five worst teams in the league.

Speaker: Easy pick, you know, better better down on less than I think five wins, something like that.

Speaker: Baker Baker Titty Shaker came out and came and put on a pretty damn good performance and really gave the Lions, you know, up until that last pick that he threw, he really gave them a run for their money.

Speaker: And so, you know, hats off to Mr. Baker Baker Titty Shaker.

Speaker: We're real proud of you.

Speaker: But the Bucs deserve, you know, a hats off.

Speaker: And it was a great game, but I think we're all proud to see the Lions make it back.

Speaker: Slade, can you explain to me, because I was sitting there and I was, during the game, I was doing the math and I was like, okay, why are they not calling the timeout?

Speaker: Why are they not calling the timeout?

Speaker: And I know it's all over social media and I know people are, we're hounding them.

Speaker: Can you, but I didn't see any of the stuff that like, what was Todd Bowles saying?

Speaker: Or like, what was their response?

Speaker: I didn't see any of that.

Speaker: So can you explain to me like what he was thinking?

Speaker: Like, why did they not, why did they not call that timeout?

Speaker: I don't understand how that happened.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Well, for one, I think he was just as surprised as all of us that Jared Goff was that big of an idiot to snap the ball that early.

Speaker: I think that caught him off guard as much as anything.

Speaker: But he came out in the press conference and they asked him that question.

Speaker: And he said, the way he described it was, he said, well, if I call a timeout, they still put out the field goal team.

Speaker: And with being down 10 points with under 30 seconds, it's virtually 0% chance to win the game.

Speaker: It's kind of what he was saying.

Speaker: And I get that.

Speaker: I still, you know, everybody will say you fight tooth and nail to the end and everything like that.

Speaker: And I think they just knew that they were lucky to have gotten to that point and were shocked that Jared Goff didn't run the clock down more.

Speaker: And at that point just said, huh, well, I guess the game's over.

Speaker: I'm guessing he just didn't really see that coming.

Speaker: I was really surprised whenever he didn't.

Speaker: And I kind of got confused.

Speaker: I was like, well, maybe I have the math wrong.

Speaker: And then when I saw all this stuff on social media coming out, I was like, okay, like that was kind of weird.

Speaker: I'm so glad that he did not call it timeout because I had Grace's yearly pay on the Lions because I was very, very confident.

Speaker: And so I am so glad that he didn't call it timeout because that would be something that would happen to me.

Speaker: That would be something beneficial for my bookie that happens about once a week.

Speaker: Yeah, Dane's bookie is having a year for the ages over there.

Speaker: And if there was ever a bookie for the Bet the Farm, that boy would be living rich and living large.

Speaker: But speaking of the Bet the Farm, Dane has another iconic and electric draft segment set up in true Bet the Farm in Triple F fashion to dedicate our, you know, burn it down to the finish line type of shitty performance going on.

Speaker: So, Dane, take us away.

Speaker: Tell the people what they got coming.

Speaker: Alrighty.

Speaker: Thank you, Slade.

Speaker: In honor of the Blazing Wings Challenge, I can't believe we haven't done some kind of wing draft yet, but today's the day.

Speaker: We only got two rounds, and then we're just going to ask a few questions.

Speaker: So the first round is going to be wing places to eat.

Speaker: This could be...

Speaker: And it doesn't have to just be an Amarillo.

Speaker: It could be Amarillo, Lubbock, wherever generic doesn't matter.

Speaker: So it's just going to be placed to eat.

Speaker: And second round is flavors of wings, the type of flavor.

Speaker: You only get one pick one round each, and then we'll go into these questions.

Speaker: Brent, you got the number one overall pick.

Speaker: Go ahead.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: If you're going to give me the number one pick, give me Hooters.

Speaker: You can't beat it.

Speaker: The beer is cold.

Speaker: The wings are delicious.

Speaker: All the TVs, you know, you got plenty to look at.

Speaker: The televisions, of course.

Speaker: Give me Hooters, number one.

Speaker: All right, that's the classic number one.

Speaker: I freaking love Hooters.

Speaker: I'm going a little bit off the beaten path.

Speaker: I think this place has moved into the best wing of Amarillo category for me.

Speaker: Give me Bubba's.

Speaker: Their wings are so underrated.

Speaker: Give me Bubba's.

Speaker: Their wings are unbelievable.

Speaker: Their wings are very good.

Speaker: Good sneaky pick there, Eric.

Speaker: I'm going to take just a chain that these wings are also underrated.

Speaker: They don't get talked about because they're not just a huge brand.

Speaker: Give me Wingstop.

Speaker: Wingstop has great wings.

Speaker: Their fries are absolutely phenomenal.

Speaker: I love me a good little Wingstop plate, so I'll take Wingstop.

Speaker: Slighten.

Speaker: Good picks.

Speaker: I was hoping that Wingstop would fall to me here at the four.

Speaker: I love Wings, and I really just don't know of many places that outside of the ones y'all named.

Speaker: Y'all named all the hotspots, Bubba's, the atmosphere, Hooters, the scenery, all of it great.

Speaker: Give me Wing Daddies for my fourth pick.

Speaker: I don't know if this is like a –

Speaker: You know, everywhere, Shane, I'm not even sure if Amarillo has it, but there's a Wing Daddies here in Lubbock, and it's pretty damn good, and, you know, the ambiance, the atmosphere really ties into it well.

Speaker: Dane, what's the second...

Speaker: So the second round is going to be for the sauces.

Speaker: And I'm really glad even though I got the last pick of the location, I'm glad that I have the easiest pick here in the wing draft.

Speaker: So with the number one pick of the second round, number one sauce.

Speaker: It's got to be Buffalo.

Speaker: Buffalo always hits.

Speaker: It is known so well, ties so well in with ranch.

Speaker: It's a staple for a reason.

Speaker: Get it hot, get it medium, however you like it.

Speaker: Buffalo is iconic, baby.

Speaker: Buffalo for my pick.

Speaker: Never heard Buffalo that much in one sentence.

Speaker: Great pick, Slade.

Speaker: I cannot wait for Brent to pick like teriyaki or honey barbecue or something here just to set everybody up so that everybody's rooting against Brent in this Bed the Farm segment.

Speaker: But mine's going to be a little more of a specific pick.

Speaker: Give me the Daytona Beach flavor from Hooters.

Speaker: It is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy.

Speaker: It's the perfect combination between sexy and cute.

Speaker: It is by far my favorite flavor, and I get it every time I go to Hooters.

Speaker: So give me Daytona Beach.

Speaker: Eric?

Speaker: Yeah, both great picks.

Speaker: Buffalo sauce is one of those things that I crave.

Speaker: I don't think you guys understand my passion for wings.

Speaker: It's something that I go crazy for, but this is kind of a classic.

Speaker: It's on every wing menu.

Speaker: But it can be named different things.

Speaker: So I got two different names here.

Speaker: But like at Twin Peaks, they call it spicy Thai chili.

Speaker: But then it'd be like the Asian zing, like a B-dubs is the one that I'm going for.

Speaker: I think it's delicious.

Speaker: It is spicy, but it's just got that kind of sweet kick, that Asian twist.

Speaker: It's a fantastic go-to when you just want to get off the beaten path just a little bit.

Speaker: Well, so for my pick, I don't know why I'm so predictable.

Speaker: Dane's calling me out.

Speaker: Give me the classic honey barbecue.

Speaker: If I sometimes I get the medium, it's a risk.

Speaker: Sometimes I'm sweating.

Speaker: It's a risk.

Speaker: So they're on the Buffalo Wild Wings scale of hot, like green.

Speaker: You're safe, red.

Speaker: You're in the danger zone.

Speaker: Buffalo Honey Barbecue is way up there in the green.

Speaker: That's where I kind of like to hang out.

Speaker: Give me Honey Barbecue for my sauce.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: We're not doing a second round of this.

Speaker: I guess we can if we want, but I am begging to hear what Brent's number two is.

Speaker: Like I said, if I'm feeling really risky, I'll get like a medium, but it's still sometimes too much.

Speaker: So then I'll go like a garlic Parmesan.

Speaker: That is so funny.

Speaker: I hope that everybody, all five of you that listen to this thing, I hope that y'all are now realize why we want Brent to lose so bad.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: The other day, Weston was brushing his teeth with Crest and he said, oh, it's too spicy.

Speaker: And it made me think of Brent.

Speaker: Brent probably tries a Sprite and he starts crying because it's too spicy.

Speaker: Oh, shit.

Speaker: Okay, that's funny.

Speaker: All right, we're just going to go into some questions here.

Speaker: We can debate it as long as y'all want.

Speaker: It doesn't matter to me.

Speaker: So we're going bone in or bone out.

Speaker: Brent, what do you prefer?

Speaker: I know this would be the

Speaker: unpopular opinion but I'm a boneless wing kind of guy I think I personally which every place is different you know sometimes you get the boneless and it's just all breading and nothing makes me more angry than that but I do feel like overall you get more meat when you go boneless so I'm going boneless

Speaker: It's not a bad pick.

Speaker: I'm not too manly to say I don't order some boneless wings or that I'm not a fan of it because it can be great.

Speaker: But when you get a bone-in wing cooked correctly, like not cooked to death where it's like chewy and you're like pulling it off, when it's cooked just right and you're really going for the wing experience, both hands, sauce all over your face, dive into some bone-in wings.

Speaker: Couldn't have said it better, Eric.

Speaker: Eric, your passion for wings right now is making me realize what has led to this horrendous downfall.

Speaker: Eric just wants some wings at the end of the season.

Speaker: I have like – I am always going to prefer a bone-in wing over a boneless wing.

Speaker: but mine is more of just like feeling out the group that I'm with and feeling out the night that I'm there for.

Speaker: If everybody is there to eat wings, I'm a hundred percent going bone in.

Speaker: But if everybody's just kind of ordering appetizers, just kind of snacking around, I don't want to be the only pig just over there covered.

Speaker: And just, cause I have no self-control and I just go to town on those bone in wings.

Speaker: It'll always be better, but sometimes you just have to take one for the team and, you know, save face and have some boneless stuff.

Speaker: Winks.

Speaker: I like it.

Speaker: I'm personally like, if I go eat somewhere, if I go eat at Hooters, I'm going to get boneless because I...

Speaker: Y'all have all ate with me before.

Speaker: There's no way.

Speaker: I cannot not make a mess.

Speaker: I will get shit all over my face.

Speaker: But if I'm going to eat wings, like if I'm going to order them to go or if I want to make my own or something, bone in all day every day.

Speaker: I think bone in tastes better, but I'm way too embarrassed to order them in a restaurant.

Speaker: So now we're going just bone in here.

Speaker: Flats or drums?

Speaker: Brent?

Speaker: I'm going with the flats.

Speaker: I don't know why, but I think they're more fun to eat.

Speaker: The drums are just kind of easier.

Speaker: With the flats, you kind of got to work for it.

Speaker: You just got to work a little harder for it, and I think I like that.

Speaker: There is an art to eating the flats.

Speaker: I'm flats as well.

Speaker: I want flats and I want them left-handed.

Speaker: You know what I mean?

Speaker: But it's so good and there's an art to it.

Speaker: And once you get in that rhythm and you're just going wing after wing after wing and you're just got – you're in a rhythm.

Speaker: You're in a zone and you're just moving so fluid.

Speaker: It's like a well-oiled machine.

Speaker: That's what I'm a fan of.

Speaker: So if you can get saucy, saucy flats, that's what I'm a fan of.

Speaker: Big juicy doubles.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I haven't seen Eric this turned on since he was talking about shirtless Miles Garrett.

Speaker: Oh, my gosh.

Speaker: I'm with you, boys.

Speaker: The flats are just – there's something real satisfying to looking down at a pile of just mangled flat bones and stuff.

Speaker: So I'm flats all the way.

Speaker: Like Eric said, there's an art to them, and it's just much more satisfying to tear apart a flat than it is a drug.

Speaker: I'm right there with y'all.

Speaker: I'm going flats too.

Speaker: I'm not going to give you a long spill about it.

Speaker: Eric pretty much said all there is to know.

Speaker: So next we're going to go for, with a side of wings here, and this is not going to sound great coming off, but this is debatable.

Speaker: I know what Eric's going to say.

Speaker: I don't know what everybody else, but as your side, either French fries or celery and carrots, Brent.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean if you're going to give me the option, I'm definitely going fries.

Speaker: Don't get me wrong.

Speaker: I like the celery and carrots, but if I had to choose easily fries.

Speaker: Yeah, this will be the unpopular opinion, 1,000%.

Speaker: Celery and carrots all day.

Speaker: It's such a perfect pairing.

Speaker: It's like a boat for the ranch.

Speaker: So give me the celery and carrots.

Speaker: I love it.

Speaker: The only thing the celery is good for is throwing it at the drunk guy who's being annoying across the bar whenever he's not looking.

Speaker: Get the celery out of there.

Speaker: But I do enjoy some carrots with them because most of the time I don't want the fries to distract me from the wings.

Speaker: Like I just want to be a disgusting sloppy pig on the wings itself.

Speaker: So once I get done feeling like a fat piece of shit for eating that many wings, I feel better for eating carrots.

Speaker: So I'll take the carrots I guess.

Speaker: So I, I like them both, but if I'm going to be trying like a pretty spicy sauce that I usually don't, don't like to eat, if it's usually a little too hot for me, I love the celery and carrot combo there.

Speaker: It pairs so great, just like Eric said, but if I'm doing like my normal, not trying to risk anything, you know, don't have a lot of time to be pulling over or any of that, I'm going fries.

Speaker: Um,

Speaker: So with this last one, I'm not going to ask the question because I think I know where everybody's going to go.

Speaker: I was going to ask ranch or blue cheese, but I think everybody's going to say ranch.

Speaker: Is there any time that it's acceptable to use blue cheese?

Speaker: Immediate jail time if you like blue cheese.

Speaker: Jail.

Speaker: Jail.

Speaker: Straight to jail.

Speaker: Used to hate blue cheese.

Speaker: Felt the same that Brent did.

Speaker: But I'm moving – I'm slightly moving that direction.

Speaker: There is a time and place for some good blue cheese, but rarely.

Speaker: Never in my life has there ever been a good time for blue cheese.

Speaker: If I'm in the city of Buffalo, I'll consider eating blue cheese so I don't get the crap beat out of me by some hardos.

Speaker: But other than that, I will never touch blue cheese in my life.

Speaker: See, I am kind of with Eric here.

Speaker: I like – it kind of goes back to my same celery carrot deal.

Speaker: If I'm eating a really spicy wing, blue cheese is better than ranch in my opinion.

Speaker: Brent, I know that you don't like to test the waters on the spicy stuff.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: If you ever do, if you ever want to get out of your comfort zone, just try it.

Speaker: Just try a little bit of it.

Speaker: I think you'll like it a little bit.

Speaker: Slade, that's all I got.

Speaker: If anybody else doesn't have anything, back to you.

Speaker: Ladies and gentlemen, enough talk.

Speaker: Let's get to the main event, baby.

Speaker: The grand finale of the Bet the Farm segment, ladies and gents.

Speaker: And it's the segment sponsored by the Beer Box there in Vega, Texas.

Speaker: Stop in there on Main Street to get some beer and come watch us die in the blazing wings of death from Buffalo Wild Wings, baby.

Speaker: The standings are updated.

Speaker: And last week, like we said, ended up giving us our dream finale.

Speaker: Eric and Brent are both tied at 10 and 11 after Eric's San Francisco 49ers bet could not cover.

Speaker: Dane and Brent both took the over and it hit.

Speaker: And so Dane is sitting there at 10, 10 and one, thanks to his push half a win ahead of Eric and Brent.

Speaker: And then I took a loss as well with the lions and the Buccaneers absolutely killing my under pick.

Speaker: So I'm sitting at 11 and 10 still with the chance to,

Speaker: to finish with the Blazing Wings tie if everybody else wins and I lose.

Speaker: So, ladies and gentlemen, this is the grand finale, baby.

Speaker: I got the number one pick because, like I said, I have the best odds to win, and we're trying to give Eric and Brent the fair advantage because they know that Dane has no...

Speaker: Me and Dane both said, you know, we're not too proud to be the dirty dogs at the bottom, like not having no backbone whatsoever.

Speaker: We're going to take the easy win if we can get it.

Speaker: So in order to keep us from picking their same wins just to save face against the Blazing Wings, we are going to start it off here.

Speaker: And I don't love any bets.

Speaker: Last week, I really loved my Buccaneers Lions Under, and it looked like the best bet of my life for the first half.

Speaker: And then I got...

Speaker: humbled so quickly.

Speaker: So knowing that I'm probably going to get humbled again this week, I'm going to put my faith in a team that feels like destiny, a team that feels like it is impossible to blow them out when the whole world is on their side.

Speaker: Give me the lions plus seven, baby.

Speaker: I'm going to ride Jared Goff and the lions, Dan Campbell.

Speaker: I'm going to hang on to this magic and hope that my dreams and the lions dreams will come true.

Speaker: Keep me away from the blazing wings, baby.

Speaker: Slade, I love that pick.

Speaker: Great job there.

Speaker: Oh, boys, this is so much freaking fun.

Speaker: I thought that whenever we decided to do a punishment, I was like, well, I'm screwed.

Speaker: You know, last year, I think the next closest one to me was five picks.

Speaker: Like, it was not even close.

Speaker: I'm so glad to welcome you all down to the lower tier of sports gambling.

Speaker: I'm so glad that I'm not alone.

Speaker: I've been saying it for weeks that I am going to screw this up.

Speaker: Like I am without a doubt going to end up losing this.

Speaker: And how funny and how poetic would it be if I stayed above Brent for, I think I've been a half point above Brent for like six, seven weeks.

Speaker: How funny would it be if now all I got to do is beat one of them and I still end up taking a dump and losing it all.

Speaker: That's just, it's in the cards.

Speaker: Can't wait.

Speaker: I hate every single pick out there, boys.

Speaker: I'm kind of stalling here because I still don't know what I'm going to do.

Speaker: But I guess I'm just going to do it.

Speaker: I'm going.

Speaker: The Chiefs-Ravens over.

Speaker: I'm going to do it again.

Speaker: It's 44-1⁄2.

Speaker: So that's what it's set at.

Speaker: I really think that the Ravens are going to end up winning this, but I think that Patrick Mahomes is going to be able to light up the scoreboard.

Speaker: That offense is getting hot.

Speaker: I think that they're going to be able to make a run.

Speaker: I think this game is going to end up totaling about 50.

Speaker: So lock that in, 44-1⁄2.

Speaker: Chiefs-Ravens over.

Speaker: Brent?

Speaker: Dane, I'm not going to lie.

Speaker: I really like that pick.

Speaker: So this is tough.

Speaker: These lines, I keep looking at them.

Speaker: Again, up until about a minute ago, I really didn't know what I was going to pick.

Speaker: But I just think – so I'm going with the Chiefs plus three and a half.

Speaker: I just feel like if you're going to give me Patrick Mahomes and three and a half points, I love it.

Speaker: I love it.

Speaker: I'm not a full believer in the Ravens.

Speaker: I don't think that they might win, but it's going to be close.

Speaker: So I love – I think I really love the Chiefs plus three and a half.

Speaker: That one stings.

Speaker: Because that was my number one pick going into this weekend was that game right there.

Speaker: Patrick Mahomes is 13-3 in the playoffs.

Speaker: Two of those losses were to Tom Brady.

Speaker: The other one, Joe Shiesty.

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: He ain't playing Tom Brady or Joe Shiesty.

Speaker: Brent, that pisses me right off.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: Here we go.

Speaker: So I'm going to go to my backup for all these wings.

Speaker: And for everybody listening, when this happens, whoever loses, we're all going to be together at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Speaker: And we're going to eat these.

Speaker: Whoever loses is going to do this with all of us there.

Speaker: We're all going to be in attendance.

Speaker: It's going to be such a fun time.

Speaker: Everybody's more than welcome to come and partake in this sprint.

Speaker: We're going to get drunk.

Speaker: Oh, I won't be able to fill my face before I eat the wings if it comes down to this.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Give me – I think these teams are going to be nervous.

Speaker: I think they're going to be uptight.

Speaker: I think they're going to a little bit be playing not to lose.

Speaker: I don't think Deebo Samuel is going to play.

Speaker: If he does, I don't think he's 100%.

Speaker: He's more of a decoy.

Speaker: So give me the Lions 49ers under 51.

Speaker: That is what I'm taking.

Speaker: It was the second pick I had on my board, so I'm sticking with it.

Speaker: I'm not doing any last-minute drastic things.

Speaker: I think they're going to be nervous.

Speaker: I'm nervous.

Speaker: I think we're all nervous.

Speaker: Let's go.

Speaker: Ladies and gentlemen, to tell you that I could feel the energy and the nerves coming through this microphone and through this computer screen would be an understatement.

Speaker: I can feel how big this moment is for all of us.

Speaker: This may be the biggest moment.

Speaker: in our pathetic podcasting lives.

Speaker: This is it, baby.

Speaker: This is the grand freaking finale.

Speaker: And what a way to close it off and what a way to end the Bet the Farm.

Speaker: And no other way to end this episode and this banger and this huge momentous week than Brent's banger of the week, baby.

Speaker: Take us home, Brent.

Speaker: Thank you, Slay.

Speaker: Well, this has been a blast.

Speaker: We got a huge weekend coming up at football.

Speaker: Enjoy your Sunday.

Speaker: Drink some beer, get with some friends, watch the games, have a good old time.

Speaker: So this week's Banger of the Week, it's going to be Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum.

Speaker: Slade, take it away.

Speaker: We'll be right back.

Speaker: It's a lost, you're gonna have a friend in Jesus So you know that when you die It's gonna recommend you to the spirit in the sky It's gonna recommend you to the spirit in the sky That's where you're gonna go when you die When you die and you lay it to rest You're gonna go to the place that's the best

Speaker: Thank you.
