Technical Struggles and Podcast Setup
00:00:07
Speaker
Hey amazing gray watch listeners, it's Jessica and Sadie and we are back today with our episode number two of season one. And full disclosure, this is the second time we've recorded this episode because we're still learning and we, well, I, the, the recording is on my computer and when I went to go edit it and listen back to it, I could not find the recording. So.
00:00:36
Speaker
We did it again, but I think this one's going to be even better. This is her first time making this mistake, so I'll let her get away with it, but just this once.
00:00:47
Speaker
No, it's not a big deal. We kind of just thought to ourselves, oh, it's a good idea to just record it anyways. We need to get the practice in. We're very new to this and you guys will just go along for the ride with us. It also took us like an hour to get our microphone set up because I don't know why. It just, they were not working. So that was also fun.
00:01:12
Speaker
So anyway, here we are.
Team Alliances and First Clue at Amazing Race
00:01:16
Speaker
We left off episode one with Matt and Amy being no, not Matt and Amy with Matt and Anna being eliminated in the first episode ever of the Amazing Race. And Robin Brennan were the first to check in on
00:01:36
Speaker
like one, so they will be first to depart at 11 23pm, but they decide to wait a little bit because they want to team up with Frank and Margarita and Bill and Joe, because apparently Frank likes Joe and Bill now, even though he hated them last episode. Yeah. I mean, he probably can tell that they're good travelers and that they're a strong team. So yeah, somebody good to make an alliance with. Yeah. But I think it's a good idea.
00:02:05
Speaker
I mean, this is only the first season of the show, so everything is so new to all of them. And for them to know that it would be a good idea to make an alliance with some people, it's pretty smart. And yeah, I feel like they picked Joe and Bill as like the strongest team. I mean, the first three teams are very strong starting from the beginning, but I think it's interesting how they decided to wait. They all left 12 hours after they checked in at the mat from the first episode. And Phil was very,
00:02:35
Speaker
He made sure to point that out. It's like a mandatory 12-hour rest period. Yeah. And this alliance at the front of the pack, they read their first clue of the day. And it says to make their way to Songhui Museum. And Phil on his voiceover, yeah, he says that it's only like a short walk in the village.
Navigation Mistakes and Detour Decisions
00:02:56
Speaker
But all the people at the front of the pack, the Alliance, Margarita told them that she had seen a sign down the road for a museum. And so they all thought that she knew where she was going and they all decided to jump in a bunch of trucks or cars and make their way to where she said she saw a sign. Frank, do you remember when he said this, when he said that he was going to, what did he say? Punch Margarita at the top of the head because as they were driving and it looked like
00:03:24
Speaker
Maybe Margarita did not remember the sign or was something different. They all kind of were just lost and not seeing any signs and he was getting really mad.
00:03:34
Speaker
Yeah, he said he was going to punch her on top of the head. You're on national television? Yeah, the beginning of this episode when they did a montage of the last episode, he pushed her like 10 times. So if that's what he's like on TV, I don't want to know what he's like in real life. Yeah, I do not like him at all.
00:03:57
Speaker
So anyways, Margarita kind of goes, oh well, I thought I saw a sign. I thought I saw a sign. And they get a couple of hours. They drove for like two hours in one direction. They're like, okay, well maybe we need to turn back. They look at the clue again and they realize that it's probably right under their noses is what they said. They said it's right under our nose in the village. So they have to backtrack like two hours. But they still get there first, like before any of the other teams
00:04:25
Speaker
Yeah, so they must have been really far ahead. Yeah. Of all the other ones. They probably lost three or four hours. They do find the museum and they find the next, what do they call it? Root marker. The next clue, which is a detour. And they can choose between near or far. So the detour is to photograph African wildlife.
00:04:49
Speaker
in the near challenge, they can photograph three easy to find species. No, three hard to find species. Oh, but it's closer. Yes. Okay. Yeah. And the far is they can photograph, they have to drive further away, but they only have to photograph one elephant. That's easy to find. Yeah. And it says that that far one is like 90 kilometers away.
Fast Forward Challenge and Episode Editing Discussion
00:05:12
Speaker
So that's like what, 50 miles?
00:05:15
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know. That's the thing I was thinking in this episode. It would probably be a good idea to learn the conversion of miles and kilometers if you're going to be on the show. Yes. Because I don't know that at all. I have no idea. All I think is like, okay, 5K is 3 miles. But to convert that to 90, I don't even know. Yeah. I guess I could figure it out, but... So what would you do if this was us on the race?
00:05:40
Speaker
Um, I think if I heard 90 kilometers, I probably would pick near because they're going to be in trucks. Like I said, I don't know if they know this when they first read the clue, but the trucks that they're in have like professional drivers and stuff for the park. Yeah. But anyways, I probably would pick near just because 90 kilometers seems really far. And that's like a lot of chances to get lost. And taking pictures of three animals really doesn't sound that much harder than one. Yeah.
00:06:09
Speaker
So yeah, I would pick near for sure, too. Yeah. So the people at this front of the pack, they all pick near. And then some other teams start getting to the starting line after their 12 hour mandatory rest. And they open the fast forward. And this time it says the fast forward is down the rapids of the Zambezi River. And Pat and Brenda decide to go for it.
00:06:36
Speaker
So they just put the fast forwards in the clues. Yeah, this confuses me a lot because it doesn't seem like everybody even reads a fast forward or it's kind of like they just feature the person that's going to go for the fast forward. Yeah. They did the fast forward weird in this season and it's still confusing me. We're only on episode two. I'm still confused by the fast forward.
Journey to Paris and Airport Drama
00:07:00
Speaker
But yeah, Pat and Brenda choose it. So they have to go down these rapids and stuff.
00:07:05
Speaker
And they get it. They make the pass forward work. They get it. And nobody else. There was no competition. Nobody else even tried to go for it. The thing that I noticed in this episode is that the editing is kind of weird in the show. There's so much less music and sound effects and stuff in this season than in recent seasons. I don't know if I noticed that. It's weirdly quiet sometimes when they're doing stuff.
00:07:35
Speaker
Yeah, a lot of things have changed from that season to now. So another team that arrives at the starting line of the day are Dave and Margaretta. And they ask some people in the village and they find out right away that they only have to just walk to the museum. They say it's about a 10 minute walk. So because like the sun is coming up. So the first few teams left in the middle of the night, like at midnight.
00:07:58
Speaker
So everybody was asleep. Well, when Dave and Margaretta left, it was like people were waking up and starting to cook breakfast and stuff like that. So it was way easier for them to ask somebody, which definitely
Eiffel Tower Roadblock and Lenny's Error
00:08:10
Speaker
worked in their advantage because I think they were the only ones that didn't get in a car and try to start driving somewhere. So yeah, they start walking down the road. They said it's only a 10 minute walk. Kevin and Drew drive right past him in a car. And Margaretta is very
00:08:25
Speaker
I'm skeptical of Dave's decision, but it wasn't a bad decision. They get there about the same time. But Dave was telling everyone at the back of the pack where the museum was. He's like, well, they told us it was just a tenant walk down here. Everybody gets there at the same time. He just should have said anything. He should have just said, oh yeah, we're just going to go find our car. Let everybody think that they should keep going. I don't know. They seem too nice for that, though. Yeah.
00:08:49
Speaker
But all the teams choose the near challenge. Nobody chooses far. So, and they all seem to not really have a hard time finding the three species and nobody really struggles with this challenge. They enjoyed it and they had a good time and they had like fun out there, but nobody had like a real struggle. After they took their pictures, they take the photographs back to the village chief and did the tribal ceremony. I think those are so cool. Those are like some of my favorite parts of the race.
00:09:19
Speaker
when they get to do something that's local, but if you just go as a tourist, you don't really get to do. Some of the teams seem to really be appreciating it, and some of them didn't really seem to care. Yeah, they just want to get it over with. But so they turn in their photos that they just took, and the chief hands them back a little statuette of the Eiffel Tower, and they immediately know that their next place to go is Paris, France.
00:09:44
Speaker
And Joe and Bill look so happy. Yeah. Because we talked about this in the last episode. They lived in Paris for a couple of years. So I wonder if the route was already laid out before they got the teams. And then they're like, oh, these people lived in Paris.
00:10:03
Speaker
They'll be good and they'll have an advantage here. Or if they had picked the teams and then laid out the route, I mean like, okay, we got to send them everybody to Paris because we know that Joe and Bill have an advantage. I don't know. There, there had to have been some, like, I don't know if I don't think it was a coincidence.
00:10:19
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know. Because, yeah, being the first season, they probably were like, let's pick a few places that everybody knows on the season, like Zambezi or whatever they were, Songhui, just barely. Nobody really knows that. Then they have to get some like noticeable places that people do know. Yeah, because everybody knows Paris.
00:10:37
Speaker
I don't know. It'd be interesting to know how they made that decision. And came in Leslie and their handkerchiefs on their head. Yeah. And Leslie says, I don't want to go to Paris. I hate Paris. Yeah. Stupid Paris. Like, what?
Taxi Incident and Team Tensions
00:10:50
Speaker
Who hates Paris? Have you ever been there? Anyways, I just was like, why? What are you talking about? Because Paris is great.
00:11:00
Speaker
This was, okay, so we have to rewind to the fast forward, which is kind of like an oxymoron, I feel like, but when Pat and Brenda get their clue, and they're in Africa, and it says, head to your pit stop in Paris. Yeah, I was like, what? That was really weird. Okay, we're going to a whole other country. Yeah, it was kind of weird, but they all head to the airport and try to book flights to Paris, and it does not go well.
00:11:28
Speaker
No, everybody, almost everybody really struggles. And there's a lot of drama and a lot of tears at the airport. I wonder what airport they're at. It doesn't really specify what airport they leave from or where they're at. But yeah, there's a lot of struggle here. Leslie, I think it's Leslie. Is she the blonde one? Leslie goes up to a ticket counter.
00:11:52
Speaker
And Amy kind of follows her up and Leslie says, she's not with me and like puts her hand in Amy's face. And that really made Amy mad. Yeah. She freaks out and she just can't stop talking about it. And Paul is like, well then punch her in the face, punch in the jaw. It's like, what is, what do they think she's going to do in the middle of this airport? A and she, they would be like kicked off the race if they physically assaulted another team. Yeah.
00:12:16
Speaker
Just try to act tough, I guess. But why would Leslie try and help them get a ticket? It's the race. So she was like, they're not with us. And she puts her hand up in her face. And she's dead not like that. Amy definitely overreacted. And she was crying. But then the ticket agent came and was like, there's no need. Yeah. She says, relax. You don't have to be upset.
00:12:41
Speaker
to Amy and Amy. Yeah, she gives Amy tickets. And it's really funny to see all these other people are trying to find tickets on the phones in the airport instead of like online or stuff like that. People using phones and stuff. And Emily is upset because she says that her flight leaves in only 11 minutes and they haven't even gone through customs yet. And she doesn't think they're going to make it. And everybody is like freaking out. This was right before 9 11. So like this episode aired.
00:13:09
Speaker
I can't remember if it was a week before or a week after 9-11. I think the first episode aired the week before and then there was like two weeks off and this episode aired a couple weeks after. Okay. So yeah, like, yeah, airports were very different. You could get through customs in 11 minutes and still make your flight. Yeah. When she says he leaves in 11 minutes, but they make it. They don't miss her flight. Pat and Brenda also, even though they had to fast forward and got there way before the other teams, they also struggled.
00:13:39
Speaker
It seemed like they, they got on a flight earlier than the rest of them, but they all make it to Paris some way or another. Do you remember Joe and Bill at the airport when they realized that Robin Brennan, they're like, they haven't been out of the country. We don't want to be on there in their Alliance anymore. So they like basically ran away from them at the airport. Like when we land or yeah.
00:14:01
Speaker
We just learned that they haven't been out of the country and we lived here. So we're just going to. But they
Struggles with Parisian Landmarks and Shifting Alliances
00:14:10
Speaker
weren't surprised. We knew they were going to do that. It was their word and they blah, blah, blah. Yeah. I mean, alliances are great. I don't know. I don't know if I would make an alliance.
00:14:22
Speaker
I think working together on certain tasks is a good idea or I don't know. I think that some teams just seem to get along better than others. And yeah, they do help each other on tasks and stuff. I think it's a good idea to form alliances be the first couple episodes. But after that, I think alliances can be a hinder to people or get them in trouble. Have you watched the latest season? I haven't yet. Okay. There's like, it's all about the Alliance, the mind five.
00:14:52
Speaker
So all of our avid race fans that are watching this from the beginning, but have also seen season 32, the last season, you'll know what I'm talking about. I can't wait. I have a few seasons to go. No, I've watched like most of the seasons. I just haven't watched like the most recent five seasons, I think, but yeah. So this alliance quickly falls apart. And that's okay. I think, I think they all just kind of work.
00:15:21
Speaker
better alone anyway. So they all started arriving in Paris. And this is where our little geography lesson comes in because we want to give a quick little rundown of each new place that they go. Paris is pretty well known. So you guys probably all know that it's the capital of France.
00:15:40
Speaker
It has about a population of 2 million and Paris is known for their high-end shopping and many famous landmarks and museums. It looks awesome, but I have never been.
00:15:54
Speaker
You have been. Yeah, I have been there twice. And it is probably one of my favorite places I've ever been. It is one of the places where I've been where I'm actually like I could see myself living here. I loved it there. So I went when I was 16 in high school with a school tour kind of thing, like an educational tour. And then I went again in 2017 with my boyfriend at the time and got engaged there. It was very romantic.
00:16:24
Speaker
It was a surprise trip too, wasn't it? It was. It was a surprise. I didn't even know I was going there. When we got to the airport, I thought we were going to Oregon. I didn't know he was going to propose to me when we did get there. It was pretty much a movie.
00:16:40
Speaker
But I love it. I love it. Um, I love all the history. I mean, it's amazing and it's amazing how old that city is compared to where we live or like our country. Yeah. Just like the history there is churches and everything is just like so much history. So when they were here, it was really fun to see places that they've been that I've been to. I can't wait till we get to the family season. Cause I've traveled around the United States quite a bit.
00:17:06
Speaker
It's one of our favorites. We're very excited for the family season for other reasons as well. So, yes, many reasons that we love that season. But anyway, Pat and Brenda, they end up checking in first. They're at the pit stop, they get first place, and while the other teams head to the Eiffel Tower to get their next clue.
00:17:29
Speaker
says that they have to look for a monumental view through the telescope and they don't know what the monument is.
Karen and Lenny's Emotional Moments
00:17:36
Speaker
They have to look through and see the white and yellow flag. And as they're looking through, they can see the flag on top of the Arc de Triomphe. Well, some of them can see it. Yeah. So some of the teams get there pretty quickly and they have to walk up the steps to the top. So it's a roadblock. Did we say that? It's a roadblock, which means that only one
00:17:58
Speaker
of the team members can do the task. And the clue is this task requires strong legs and keen eyes. So if this was us, we open that clue, who would do it? Me? Um, I don't know. Maybe if I've already been to Paris. That's true. I would maybe do it. If you kind of knew what monuments are. Yeah. But how can you not? Unless you really know nothing about Paris, like you kind of can figure out what the monuments are. Yeah.
00:18:27
Speaker
So used to say at the time, which one of us felt like we had strong legs that day. Because yes, it does look like a long way to climb the stairs. Drew and Kevin, they're funny when climbing those stairs. They're such an interesting friendship. I like them.
00:18:47
Speaker
They talk to each other so harshly. Yeah. But they love each other. You can tell they love each other. But I think also from where they're from, are they from Boston or New York? They're from New York. Yeah. So maybe just from where they're from, that's kind of how they talk. That's how New Yorkers are. One of the first teams up there though was Bill. Yeah. And he like finds it. He doesn't even have to look through the telescope. He was just like, oh, there it is. This is Dr. Trump. Yeah. And he goes down and they know exactly where it is and where to go.
00:19:17
Speaker
Let me get to Lenny. Oh, Lenny. Silly, silly man. He gets up there and he like looks around and he can't find it. So he just walks back down all those steps. He doesn't find anything and just walks back down. And Karen is like, what's the answer? He's like, I don't know. She's like, you didn't find it. No. So why'd you come back down? You got to go back up. What are you doing?
00:19:45
Speaker
If that was my teammate, I'd be so frustrated. What were you expecting? What were you going to do? I don't know. So he goes back up and he just asks some random tourist for some help.
00:19:59
Speaker
And they're looking out and they see Notre Dame and he asks the forest. He's like, is that monumental? Do you think that's some? Yeah. Do you think that's monumental? Yeah. Like, yeah, I guess. Okay. And so he goes back down and tells Karen, it's Notre Dame. And she's like, are you sure? He's like, yes. Oh, and inside you're dying. You're like, Oh no, this is it. This is it for them. Yeah. Okay. So now the second half of the teams are arriving at the airport and there's more drama. We get some drama because
00:20:29
Speaker
They walk out and
Episode Outcome and Future Hopes
00:20:30
Speaker
there's kind of a line forming for the taxis and Paul and Amy are clearly there first, but Kim and Leslie just like walk right past them and try to get the first taxi. Paul and Amy get their taxi and they are in the back seat. Yeah, they're in the car. And Leslie gets in the front seat and asks the taxi driver to take her and Kim instead.
00:20:51
Speaker
She's like, please tell them to get out and take us instead. Does she offer like more money or how did she, how did they? It didn't show that in the footage. Is it really pretty? Maybe? I don't know. Yeah. He just says, Oh, okay. And he makes Paul. And you can see, you can see Paul, like he's like looking at the cameraman. Like, can they do this? Are we going to do something about this? Yeah. And they're probably like,
00:21:13
Speaker
I don't know. Can we do something about this? And Kim isn't doing anything. She's just standing back against Leslie that's just in the front seat. I would never do that. I cannot believe that they did that. There was a line of taxis waiting. It would have been so much less time to just walk to the next car and get in it. That wasn't the only taxi at the airport. Yeah, and it put a target on their backs and made everybody not like them, and it was just kind of shady.
00:21:39
Speaker
So, Paul and Amy have to get out and they get in another taxi and Amy is really upset and she's crying, which I would be really upset too. It isn't as big a deal because there are other taxis and stuff and they found one pretty quickly, but that's just so frustrating.
00:21:58
Speaker
So she's really upset and Paul is just like, okay, let's go home. Let's just go home. Let's book our ticket to New York. Let's go home. She's like, I'm just upset. And he's like, well, you can't do this without me. And if you keep acting like this, then I'm not going to be here. I'm like, oh my gosh, that is not as a board of teammate. Yeah, I did not like his reaction. But they end up getting to the Eiffel Tower before Kim and Leslie get there anyways. So
00:22:22
Speaker
Yes. And Paul chooses to do the detour and he goes up and he struggles up there finding stuff and he gets mad and he's like kicking the walls and throwing the telescope around and it almost hit him in the head. And I wish it would have. Yeah. It spins around like almost wax him in the back of the head. And he was just getting mad at Amy for being dramatic and upset and emotional. And he's all dramatic and emotional. Yeah. He's so annoying, but he has a really hard time finding it.
00:22:51
Speaker
when Kim and Leslie get there, they don't find the clue box. Yeah, they go up in the like they purchase elevator tickets and they go up there. And they keep asking people for a white and yellow flag. And they try and speak French and it's very, very bad. And they
00:23:06
Speaker
they actually start speaking Spanish. She's like, see? See? And they're like, we're in France, lady. I notice that a lot. People resort to Spanish. Yeah. Like as the default. No matter where they are. They're like in Africa, Asia. Like when they want a taxi driver to go faster, they're like, Rapido, Rapido. No. You're in China. Yeah. That happens a lot. It's really annoying.
00:23:31
Speaker
But meanwhile, there's some teams checking in at the mat. Bill and Joe get their bill slips on the mat because it's kind of rainy and wet. I think we should keep count of how many mat slips there are. Because I feel like it happens a lot. One. First one, Joe and Bill. How embarrassing. I know. I would die if I slipped on national TV like that. You probably just got to let things go because there's probably a lot of embarrassing moments for these teams. Yeah.
00:24:01
Speaker
But Rob and Brandon get their third and Frank and Margarita get their fourth. So that original alliance is still ahead of the pack. Is it Frank and Margarita? Frank and Margarita. I'm so confused with Frank and Margarita and David and Margarita. Margarita and Margarita are not popular names and for them to both be on the season at the same time. I'm getting them mixed up. Yeah, it is kind of confusing. So we have Karen and Lenny who are at Notre Dame.
00:24:29
Speaker
which is not the right place to be. And Karen's like, why did we come here? And Lenny's like, well, I walked up the stairs and the telescope was pointed here, so I thought it.
00:24:42
Speaker
And she's like, Lenny, what if somebody was just looking through it and left it at that position? And he's like, okay, I guess we have to go back and do it again. And she's like, I am so disappointed. Yeah. And the music during this part is so depressing. I know. And like, so bad for him. Yeah. Your first initial reaction is Oh my gosh, how can you be so
00:25:07
Speaker
Like, you've gone up there twice already. Don't be so dumb. But then he starts crying and she's mad at him and I just felt really bad. I know, and the cameraman loves that teary eyed shot. Yeah, he totally loses it. Susan, so close. They just both seem so defeated though. You would have to know if you were in that situation, you would just be like, okay, this is it, we're done.
00:25:33
Speaker
Yeah, I think that would be one of the hardest things about the race is feeling so much frustration. Like if your teammate messed up, but not wanting them to feel bad because it's not like they did it on purpose. And then if you're the teammate that messes up and then you feel so bad for ruining it for both of you. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, so they make their way back and he goes back up. By the time he gets back, there's a few other teams that are there at the same time. Emily is up there and she's like trying to find
00:26:02
Speaker
a telescope to look through, and she's like, oh, I need 10 francs. And she looks up at this group of men standing up at the level above her. She's like, can I have 10 francs? And they all are like, yes. And they throw money at her. Sometimes it really is an advantage to be a cute girl in this race. Yeah. And so she is looking through the telescope, and Lenny's there. And they kind of help each other. Or she sees it. She's like, Lenny, look.
00:26:31
Speaker
At this point, they know that they're pretty far back in the race. Cause I don't know if either of them have like seen Kim and Leslie and know that they're behind them or close to behind them. And also we don't even see Dave and Margaretta do this detour or this roadblock. So I'm like, where are they? But then they check in like, so, so drew and Kevin check in fifth and they like are so proud of each other and it's so cute. And then Dave and Margaretta.
00:26:57
Speaker
who we like hardly haven't even seen. We did not see them do this roadblock. They show up and they're in sixth place. Yeah, it was really weird. Yeah.
00:27:07
Speaker
I guess with all the taxi stealing and airport drama, there was not enough time to see him walk up that Eiffel Tower. And then Paul and Amy check in seventh and Nancy and Emily check in eighth. And so Lenny and Karen and then Kim and Leslie are the last two. And it seems like they're pretty neck and neck. Kim and Leslie are
00:27:29
Speaker
getting out of their cab and Leslie is haggling with the cab driver about some money that he owes her or something. Yeah. It's like he didn't give them change or maybe he thought it was a tip and like, didn't want to give their money back or something. And she's like, come on, give me my money back. Yeah. 30 more. Come on, give it to me. Come on. But she's a little like that. Come on, give it to me. It looked really annoying. The first episode I liked her, this team came in Leslie and this episode just, they really wrote me the wrong way. Well, Kim, not necessarily Leslie. She just kind of stood back and let Leslie.

do all these main things. Yeah. I don't know. It just wastes a lot of time. Yeah. She seriously, they're across the street from the Arc de Triomphe. Like how much even is 30 francs? I don't know the conversion. I don't either. It doesn't sound. And also the next leg of the race are going to get more money. They're at the pit stop. Yeah. Just leave it. Like just go. Because I mean, we can't really tell if they really were neck and neck. I don't know if it was edited to make it look

like they were getting out of the taxi and then Kenny and Lenny and Karen just like pass them up or maybe they really were just far behind and they made it either way it's just annoying how she does it they finally get to the pit stop the pit stop and Phil is there yeah Phil is there which we've discovered that he is only there for

Speaker
the last team to check in so you know when you show up and he's there that you're last. Which I don't like that. I don't either. I like it when it's more of a surprise. Because she's walking up to him and she's like, please don't say it Phil, don't say it. Yeah. I know that they're last. But he says it luckily because I don't want them to be on the race anymore.

Yes. You have been eliminated from the race. They are eliminated. I'm going to really miss Kim and Leslie's fashion and their eyebrows. Oh yes. Their sunglasses. Very 90s. The thin eyebrows, those purple lens sunglasses. I totally rocked their style. And they wore jeans on that leg.
00:29:32
Speaker
You never see teams wear jeans anymore. I don't remember if we said it in the last episode or the first time we recorded this episode. Maybe. But everybody seems to have like huge backpacks. Yes. People don't know how to pack on this season. Everything is so unknown. People wearing jeans. Yeah. Nobody's matching. It's very, yeah, it is kind of funny. Very new to everyone. So yeah, that's the episode. A nice little day in Paris. We checked in.

Speaker
not with Kim and Leslie, but we checked in on them on their social media.

They are both now married and have like two or three kids each and they seem really happy and they have lovely families and I'm happy for them and I hope they're not stealing taxis anymore from people. I hope. Or haggling with the taxi drivers. You could have lost a million dollars, ladies. I know. 30 francs or a million dollars. Yeah. I don't know if they would have won, but you know. But of all the teams, they weren't my favorites, so I'm not too sad to see them go.
00:30:34
Speaker
I do want like, I'm like, Oh, all girl team. Yeah. You always want to see good, but not one. Yeah. You're listening to this. We're really sorry. I'm sure you're nice people, but all right. So the race brings out the worst in people. Yeah, it probably does.
00:30:55
Speaker
I mean, you can see examples of it all throughout the series. Some people, I'm just like, do you watch that back and are so ashamed of yourself? I'm so embarrassed. Like I hope Frank watches this season and it's like, I was an awful person. Yeah. I'm interested to see what they're up to. So when they get eliminated and we have to stock them on Facebook. If they get eliminated. Yeah, I don't. Yeah, maybe. So up until now, my faves are Joe and Bill, her team Guido.

David Margaretta. I love Drew and Kevin. Yeah, Drew and Kevin are really entertaining. Yeah, I think those are my top three as well. Karen and Lenny, I just feel bad for them. So I want to see them go a little bit further, but I don't think they're very strong. Yeah, Lenny needs to redeem himself for sure. So we'll see what happens.
