So I feel like in our industry, it is very sexy for educators and photographers to talk about hitting six figures or leaving your day job and going full time as a photographer.
Defining Personal Success Beyond Six Figures

now i actually really do support people in those endeavors if you want to create a business that is making multiple six figures i am able to help you get there and if you are wanting to quit your job and make this full time i am also there to help you with that but i also believe that you get to define what success or quote unquote full time looks like for you Six figures is just a catchphrase that a lot of coaches or mentors really use ah just to kind of make things sound more legitimate or make things sound more, I don't know what the word might be, official or that you're not, act they the but what I don't like about it is that it makes people feel like their business isn't serious or that they aren't to be taken seriously if they aren't getting to six figures, if they don't want to get to six figures, all of that.

so for some people they have a day job and i coach a lot of people in my mastermind that have a day job that they love and they actually always want photography to be a side hustle and they always want it to be something that is just extra cash they don't want to leave their day job And for some, they are the primary parent and they don't want to work quote unquote full time hours so that they're able to spend maximum time with their children.

A few shoots a month would be considered full time for them.
Seriousness in Part-Time Photography

So why am I saying this? I'm saying this because even if you want your photography business to be part-time or a side hustle or something that's just supplemental as far as income goes, I still want you to take it seriously.

You want to make sure that you are running a professional and profitable business even if you are quote-unquote part-time, even if you have quote-unquote a day job, even if you want to be a primary parent above all.
Breaking Industry Stereotypes

So that is why I'm bringing this to your attention because I think that people feel like they're not legit or that they won't be taken seriously if they aren't full-time or making an X amount of money.

But that is not the case at all. There is not just one way to run your photography business. You get to write your own rules. You don't want to let ah the industry or these catchphrases pressure you into not taking things seriously.
Individualized Measures of Success

So in my program, in my mastermind, I help people actually define what this is. What does your full calendar look like? What does booked look like for you?

What does your dream salary look like? For some of my members, they feel amazing at $30,000 a year because they have other supplemental income. They have, like I said, the the role of being the primary parent.

and that's amazing. While some hit six figures, multiple six figures, and that's where they want or need to be because of their life. What's important is that you have the infrastructure in your business so that you have systems, processes, you have a marketing plan that runs easily and that doesn't take up all of your time,

So don't let your you know feelings of inadequacy because you don't wanna make a certain amount of money or you don't wanna be full time be the reason why you don't go all in with this endeavor.

I just wanted to give you that little piece of information. It doesn't matter if you don't wanna hit six figures or if you don't wanna be quote unquote full time, you should still go all in and learn how to do this in a way that is profitable and, of course, meaningful to you.
