Speaker
How are you guys doing? and Doing well. Beautiful Sunday. Beautiful Sunday. NFL Sunday.
00:00:44
Speaker
Love it. God, man. this is This is incredible. I love this time of the year. i don't care much about the NFL, but that's just me. Really? help yeah No, don't care about the NFL.
00:00:55
Speaker
Not my thing. Sorry to anybody out there. I know it's a big thing here, but couldnt I watched the Super Bowl and that's about it. And I don't even really watch it like i just because I just don't care. yeah but It's too slow. It stops too much. I'm used to hockey with nonstop action, you know, and you can fight.
00:01:13
Speaker
I think for me, it's just kind of like the changing of the seasons. It's like football starts and it's like, boom, here we go. I totally get why people love it because it's like, hey, Sunday, we're doing this. Like, that's awesome.
00:01:24
Speaker
It's still kind of summer. It's kind of going into fall. It's 75 every day. It's great. But I'm sure you guys are turning tuning in to hear about the weather in St. Louis. but ah Yeah.
00:01:35
Speaker
Yeah. how How's everyone out there doing? Yeah. Going in, what is it? September now? I don't even know what month it is. It has been so crazy. I'm still living the the single dad life.
00:01:47
Speaker
Mad props to all the single dads out there where... Yeah, shit gets little crazy for sure. I'm sure. so um So, yeah. No, I figured we we got an action-packed fun show for everyone out there. We're going to be going over some hot takes today related ah to some kids' items. So having some fun with you all out there. I think you'll have your own opinions as you're going through this. But ah just to preface, I kind of came up with a list of what's on Google and what people say are some of the hottest, you know, movies, music items. And I haven't told any of these guys. so Surprise us. Yeah. So blind here. Let's go.
00:02:29
Speaker
So, uh, especially as, uh, you're listening, you may have your own hot takes. So comment. Um, and especially as you're looking through, follow us on YouTube, hit that subscribe button and, uh, you know, follow us on all the channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, uh, is where we're currently at.
00:02:46
Speaker
So we know you guys are watching out there. Hit that button. It just takes a second. We can see you. hit We appreciate the support. All right. So let's do it.
00:02:56
Speaker
Let's ah let's get in before we, you know, what's going on with you guys. Anything new, exciting. Oh, we just did our first camping and floating trip with the kids last week. oh So that was a big first. It went great.
00:03:10
Speaker
most Right into the float, I thought it was going to go horrific. like My son got dragged on the raft right into it. Like, oh God, no. Everything was good.
00:03:21
Speaker
Yeah, they did great. It was an awesome time, awesome weather. Can't wait to do it again. Nice. What river do you float on? ah Black River. So it's like Southeast Missouri. It's like all natural spring fed river. Or mountainous, you know, scenery. Yeah. That's my favorite river. yeah if If you're in the Midwest and kind it's worth the drive. Right.
00:03:43
Speaker
Was it Lesterville? I think it is. Shout out to Lesterville. But, um yeah, random. Very random. But is Missouri the floating capital of the Midwest? I've heard that, but I was only yeah when when we say floature people don't don't even know. it. Don't even know.
00:03:59
Speaker
No, I think, I mean, you it's not rapid. So don't come expecting, like, whitewater rapids. but No, I think we don't have more than, like, class twos in Missouri. i guess notice Like, literally, that's as high as it gets.
00:04:10
Speaker
Yeah. So, yeah. Anyone else? but Oh yeah, I started night shift. Oh, that sucks. So, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. I literally woke up and came here for this and then I'm going to go to work and work till 6 p.m. and then get home or 6 a.m. and then get the kids on the bus and try to get some sleep.
00:04:30
Speaker
Wow. I hate night shift. Hang in there. Yeah, it's ah it's fun. But you know, it's it only for two months, right? Yeah, I mean, the the good thing is they they switched to- Yeah, we to switch back and forth. Yeah. It's fairly quick turnaround. And you used to have to do three months straight. You used to have six months.
00:04:49
Speaker
Six months? Six months, then four months, then three months. Now we're on two months. Wow. Trying to hit that sweet spot. Peace. Good, nice. yeah that's crazy hang in there that's crazy uh your kid uh started yeah we've got yeah we've we're in the thick of all the fall sports right now now so we've got the soccer and we just started yeah football so my son just had his first two games today which was really fun and interesting to see after one practice but you know they started figuring it out he had a couple good runs, one 15 yarder and what we say tackles, but it's flag football. So he was able to pop some of those flags off, which gave him some confidence. And was a fun day.
00:05:27
Speaker
lot of, lot of football today without actually watching the NFL, but it was enjoyable. So nice. yeah And your son is made for football. Like he is made for it. I think he'll be all right. He's still finding his way, but we got to get a little aggressiveness in them and, and he'll get there. But yeah, and like I think i he's going to have a good time. He's on there with ah four of his good buddies now from school. And so it's a small team of seven. If you do flag football, it's only five people out there at a time.
00:05:54
Speaker
So he pretty much is running with his buddies on the team, which makes it a a lot better. So it'll be fun. We're looking forward to i mean, there's so many sports now that like, don't even think were offered to us as kids. Like, I don't think we had the opportunity to play football until high school.
00:06:08
Speaker
Like, I don't remember... I remember to go over to Columbia because me and another buddy of ours from high school โ€“ We had to go to Columbia to play. I remember playing over there like in a youth league or something like that. So like it was like a drive to be able to do it.
00:06:21
Speaker
Yeah. Like when you were younger. Now you can play in middle school. like My daughter's cheerleading now for middle schoolers and the middle school kids play. Yeah, I guess. for Oh, for the high school. Yeah. But they're middle school age kids. Oh, yeah. The way this one works now is you can start as early as kindergarten and it's all sponsored through the NFL. So they all get cool.
00:06:39
Speaker
They're all different jerseys. So we're the Lions. We played the Chiefs and the Bills today. So that was kind of cool. but this is their team. And if they stick through it, then through third grade, they'll start tackle. And then this is kind of your team as you progress throughout at least this little division here where we live. Which always blows me away that they let Football is the only sport where they let the little kids hit each other.
00:07:01
Speaker
Every other sport like hockey, you can't start hitting until you're 14. Like all the contact sports, it blows me away that football still lets little kids just demolish each other. Yeah. Yeah. So so small. I think that's that's what's attracting Lincoln to this sport, right? now I it is go and get some aggressiveness out. Yeah. Yeah.
00:07:21
Speaker
I love it. good. Dude, that is awesome. That is awesome.

Single Dad Adventures

00:07:25
Speaker
I'm still, like I intro'd in, i'm I'm still living the kind of single dad life. I did have a brief moment. My wife came back after four weeks last week for Labor Day, and it was phenomenal. It was great to see her.
00:07:38
Speaker
Great to see you. I love you if you're if you're listening. um And then all of a sudden she left Monday and like the rug got pulled out from under me. Tuesday was tough. Wednesday was tough. Thursday was tough.
00:07:52
Speaker
I mean, I had a tough Saturday and then here we are Sunday where I decided to go to bed early and decided to get some sleep, decided to work out a little bit and and kind of reset myself this morning. And I feel like a brand new man.
00:08:04
Speaker
So yeah, you're still standing. Your kids are out there having a good time. So well done. Yeah. Hey, they're still having fun. It's said the the grind. Yeah. Like you all know, I mean, it, it, it can get tough. So, um, so yeah, excited, excited to be here with you guys. So one other thing too, like, uh, it was my wife's birthday the other day. So happy happy birthday. yeah I won't say your age, but she was born in 1985.
00:08:27
Speaker
We had a great time. we got hardy We had a really good time. So yeah, we threw little bash for It was great. Kudos to Doiver for, for the husband of the year. I mean, he had this thing teed up casino night.
00:08:40
Speaker
I mean, we all had a blast. It was so much fun. My sister-in-law helped a lot. So it wasn't just me. That's true. Yeah. But that was a good time. and Yeah. Fun dealing blackjack and craps. i think I'm ready to be a dealer. man like yeah yeah Yeah. I would like you to be the dealer too. We had a lot of total table wins.
00:09:00
Speaker
Of course, the dealers at the casino aren't half lit, you know, either. Love it. Love it. Love it. Yeah. So that was fun. We'll maybe post some some some pictures of some of the cool outfits and some other things. Oh, yeah. There is a couple of videos of me dealing, so it'll pretty good. Couldn't count.
00:09:19
Speaker
Couldn't count. Couldn't count. It's all right after about 10 p.m. Did you leave the dealer costume on till after everybody left? Yeah, I kept, well actually no, it's a funny story. but I was so hot from having an aunt all day and your brother left.
00:09:35
Speaker
He was the last one and he came back in. By the time he came back in 30 seconds later, i was all off. i was My pants were down and around my ankles, trying to get my clothes off because I was so hot and sweaty from being in a long sleeve collared shirt all night.
00:09:47
Speaker
You look, you look good. Well, we'll definitely, that'll make its way to the dad living page because you look fantastic. So, all right. So, all right. Hot

Debating Disney Movies

00:09:57
Speaker
takes. How about that?
00:09:58
Speaker
so so the, the goal is, so I'm going to go through some of the hot takes and I did some research. on Google, obviously, Chad GBT, trying to figure out what were some of the top either movies, songs um over the past decade.
00:10:16
Speaker
We'll just do the past decade. I think I have ah for some of these like all time for the shows, which I'm kind of curious to hear your guys' reaction. But ah yeah, then we'll go through it and want to get your guys' thoughts on what do you think. What are your what's your number one and go from there?
00:10:33
Speaker
Sounds good. All right. We're going to start. with the top 10 Disney movies over the past decade. So controversial. All right. Now this, this is where it gets a little crazy. I already know I'm going to disagree and I haven't seen it yet.
00:10:48
Speaker
I mean, okay. What does Marvel fall under the list? No, no, no, no, no. So like traditional Disney movies. These are, these are your Disney movies. I'm going to try to turn this. So I saw him peek in.
00:11:01
Speaker
What, uh, what, what do we think is, uh, all top five, top five. over the last 10 years or all Last 10 years. that's I'm sure a Toy Story or something's in there. 10 years. I don't remember what movies came out with in the last 10 years.
00:11:19
Speaker
All time, maybe, but. All time. Now, I'm really shitty at trivia. Up was before 2015. Now, what we talked about, liked, best box office, just our favorites. what Most popular, and the ratings went from IMDB to, what's the other one? Rotten Tomatoes. Rotten Tomatoes, thank you. So, a number of different facets that went into this, but what it all came down to was the top ratings globally.
00:11:45
Speaker
over what people were were saying, not necessarily box office. Now I can tell you as we spread it out over the course, that Toy Story was was the top one and Lion King was was in the top three.
00:11:58
Speaker
So as you look at all Disney movies out there. But not over the not over the not over the last 10 years. So 10 years. And the reason why i did 10 years is because, well, we've all been in the baby bubble since,
00:12:12
Speaker
Kind of then. mean, you're kind of going a little bit beyond that. But what would you say over the last 10 years? I would, well, okay. um got it I would put Frozen 2 up there.
00:12:24
Speaker
No, that's not even top 10? Frozen did not make the top 10. Frozen 2 wasn't near as good as Frozen 1. Okay, when it came out. It was a lot of hype I know, but. It was during the pandemic. It came out on it it came out on ah Disney+. plus Yeah.
00:12:38
Speaker
Dude, we watched that every day. Because there was nothing else to do. That was huge. Is Coco on there? I love that movie. Coco is on there. Yes. And so I think this is a big thing because Coco doesn't get enough recognition. Great. It's basically a top five all time for me for Disney. Yeah.
00:12:55
Speaker
yeah Number four. Number four on the list. Wow. Dude, the songs in there were great. I mean, they wanted to hear my kids in the car. like Coco song, Coco songs, like all over and over and over. that We went to, ah they like did a live musical thing. it was awesome. oh yeah, we watched that.
00:13:11
Speaker
Coco's amazing. Moana was big in our house. Moana is number three. yeah Moana killed it on ah on so many different levels. that was That was our favorite.
00:13:21
Speaker
and was My son, my daughter loved it. My own favorite, honestly. It's a good one. I'm a big fan of the rock though. So, you know, when we start doing his little ditty, I was all in.
00:13:33
Speaker
I've got a video of my son. He's probably two at the time. And it'll pop up every now and then. But I'm just sitting there on the couch filming him. He's just bouncing up and down. That's awesome. Dude, it was definitely big.
00:13:49
Speaker
for the So we just named four and three. um Let's just keep with the top two. ah The top was in 2015. it was in twenty fifteen and it's a little bit...
00:14:00
Speaker
Um, well, fifteen ah yeah, they, they just made a, they just made a sequel to it. Oh, I was going to didn't have kids yet, so I was definitely not watching Disney. This, this might be a little bit more your era.
00:14:12
Speaker
I can't. She, she plays hockey. Oh yeah. Inside Out. Inside Out. That was good. Inside Out was the top rated Disney movie it was good over the last decade, which when you go back to it, I'm like, okay, i enjoy that movie.
00:14:26
Speaker
He was little bit of a tear-jerker. Yeah. Tied Out 2 was just like, what, a year or two ago? Yeah, went on. Like a year. Yeah, I think like a year ago. that I mean, that was a good movie, and too. It was a little bit different. But to be honest, haven't really watched either one of those. so Okay, well, there there you go. Now you have to watch it, right? Family movie night. Yeah, sounds good.
00:14:44
Speaker
Wreck-It Ralph didn't make it. i love those movies that's a good oh rockoky rock's a good um great i think that there a snap nostalgia of all the different video game video what i and i lie toy story four and he said toy sir was number six there you go yeah we've watched that one oh lot that that was Toy Story 3. Yeah, I like that. Is that the one where they're the kindergarten? Not kindergarten. The daycare. The daycare with Forky? Was that Forky? No, Forky was that Forky. They kind of all blend together, and I like them all. They should have left it off at 3, though. It was like the perfect ending.
00:15:18
Speaker
That's right. They got to make a few more million, dude. Come on. Now they're going to do it. Toy Story 5. Well, as long as they ditch the whole Lightyear thing, that was dog shit. Like. that hold on loved light year get out oh my god i can that no i can watch that so many times i didn't have a strong opinion either way it was we we put it on the kids weren't interested so we shut that off because i enjoyed that the they rid of tim allen which was mistake number one yeah i agree with that and then they all disney was doing all the other controversial stuff at the time it's like man this wasn't enjoyable
00:15:54
Speaker
yeah so we're missing the second one and the fifth one yeah the second one they're coming up with a remake um i don't know there's no really weird like way to describe it up on the list or is that iing up is a little bit before before up up like i yeah i agree with that so this involves a number of different animals That all have to coexist. Zootopia.
00:16:20
Speaker
Zootopia. Zootopia was number two. ah Which I can see that. Zootopia. That's what Avery used to say. She was born right around when the first one came out. 2016 is when it came out. The number five one is actually probably one of my top three.
00:16:37
Speaker
It's a different one outside the box. And I don't know if the younger kids have seen this. But it has to do with Spider-Man. I'm out then. don't know anything about those. i Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse. Dude.
00:16:50
Speaker
First one. You guys haven't seen that one? Yes. I don't see that. Dude, the animation in that is mind-blowing. It's amazing. If you haven't seen haven't seen it. Oh my God. my kids would And the kids love Spider-Man. So yeah, I'm shocked we haven't came across that one. You watch it. We're all into that Spidey and his amazing friends, which is...
00:17:09
Speaker
little child miles morales which is like alternate universe spider-man but it's like there's an alternate i was like there's an alternate universe so there's like 10 different spider-man versions you got to keep up with nicholas cage is one they have forky pig no i've seen that movie my kids watch music's awesome the last one that came out like we have that playlist in our car and It has Post Malone in it, everything. Oh, yeah. Circles, right? Yeah. Sunflower. Sunflower. Sun, yeah.
00:17:41
Speaker
the The guy that produced ah the soundtrack for number two, he's from St. Louis, that Metro Boomin' guy. Yeah. There's some great songs on there. be like I agree. I agree. the The second one is... That one, I bet, is good. I didn't think that would fall under Disney, so... Yeah, it's Disney.
00:17:58
Speaker
Yeah. Huh. Oh, yeah. then Well, then I need to check that one out. No, no, no. When you're thinking like Avengers and. Well, okay. Then Marvel should be on this list. If Spider-Verse is on there.
00:18:09
Speaker
Is it? No. They're all the same. I'll to check my holes my sources here. i have a big problem with this list. I know what Marvel is. Yeah. ah This is Doug's personal list.
00:18:20
Speaker
So no, no. This is where it gets a little crazy because like number seven, the Mitchells versus the machines. Oh, that was great. That was on Netflix. That's a Netflix movie. Yeah. I've never even heard of that. Well, then my sources are crap. This might be the top. was good movie. Over the last decade then. Maybe the top animated movies. It could be. Yeah. Hey.
00:18:38
Speaker
And then Encanto, number eight. Yeah, that was good too. That's good one. Number nine, Turning Red. That was i know it brought some controversy. I enjoyed it. I thought it was great. Yeah. um and then on charlotte was terrified when the panda got all scary yeah she was like nope so we couldn't watch it anymore i remember watching that and going to the st louis zoo and when the kids were like where's the red panda and then i showed them they're like that little thing that's it miniature foxes i know right it was like okay well it was cool for a little bit i'm surprised this wasn't we just watched this this morning um i love it uh the wild robots
00:19:12
Speaker
yes oh that's a good or one yeah that's good that we have animated movies like i think that won awards it's really good that is a fantastic one yeah no no i don't know who makes it but but dude it's a little teary-eyed not gonna lie yeah i'll have to come with a revised list of the top animated movies just to make sure about drop your comments so let's say yeah yeah yeah you know Yeah, I'm i'm interested to hear what everyone... I would like to hear favorites. I need something new in the repertoire because we get stuck on the same thing. So it'd be refreshing for my kids to get hooked on something new. yeah yeah
00:19:45
Speaker
And then top, the 10th, was Super Mario Brothers, which I agree. I love that. Which is definitely not a Disney movie. Yeah, I realize that. But yeah, we watch that one a lot.
00:19:56
Speaker
GPT. That was a great one. What about the Ninja Turtle movie? Yeah, t yeah that was a good one. TMNT or yeah. Yeah. There's, there's a lot kids to see that one. That one's another one that maybe is kind of like this Spidey movie. It's kind of comic-y animation. I like that style animation. It's just so much more than when we were kids. We had to like wait for the, you know, the cassette to come out on whatever Disney. And that was it. There was really you nobody else making movies like that until Pixar came around in the, in the late nineties, early two thousands. Yep.
00:20:26
Speaker
Yep. I agree. I agree. All right. Moving on to shows. All right. So movies, shows, now shows. And I did this because, I mean, I'm a kid at heart. I didn't, i haven't watched Disney and animated movies a whole lot at growing up, but I watched shows like that was, that was a staple in

Impact of Kids' Shows

00:20:44
Speaker
our house. I would wake up at 5.00 AM, oh grab a bowl of cereal, turn on the tube.
00:20:48
Speaker
So I pulled the top, 10 shows of all time. Oh wow. Kids shows. All time? All time. Now we are going, we're going back. Are these all animated or they? No, it could be anything. And the, the, the, I would say the top one is not animated.
00:21:07
Speaker
What? Actually the top two are not animated, but these are family shows, kid shows, kid shows. Not animated. are you afraid of the dark? No. I don't know. That was a Nickelodeon. Tales from the Crypt. Where are we going here?
00:21:27
Speaker
ah feel like. No. The first two shows are so obvious. ink Think very broad, a high level kids enjoying Full House?
00:21:38
Speaker
Is that a kid's show? No, no, you're thinking too old. thought that too. I thought that too at one point because we enjoyed that. TGIF every Friday we were watching all the shows there. The I can think of are animated. I know. So the top rated show involved a, he was a person that played this persona, but actually, I mean, it was probably from the 60s to the 80s or and want to say And he brought together a lot of different topics and a lot different things on his show.
00:22:09
Speaker
Mr. Rogers neighborhood. ahs hi Mr. Rogers was the top rated kid show above and beyond. And you're like so society could use some Mr. Rogers neighborhood in our lives. Sesame street, Sesame street. Number two. There you go.
00:22:23
Speaker
There there's the one in two obvious ones. Lamb chops play along. oh A song that never ends. yeah What? I ain't going start singing it. i No, Martin, you didn't make it.
00:22:39
Speaker
I'm going to have to refer refer over here. Yeah, just give them to us. Well, okay. Number three is one of, I consider my favorite kid show, and it's a current one today.
00:22:53
Speaker
Bluey. Bluey's great. I watched that without my kids. Bluey makes me want to be a better parent. Right? Those parents little unrealistic. Dad guilt kind of. Oh, dad guilt. How do you look like a bandit killer? All of them. You look like a bandit because a bandit apparently works, but I mean, it never really goes to work.
00:23:12
Speaker
And you're getting 10 or 8 minute clips of like the best part of bandits like parenting. It's what you've got to remember. i will I think as far as kids, like it's the most wholesome. It's great. show it's not like some of the bullshit they have out there for kids where no we we my kids mimic those and they get the feather and we play the feather yes that's what i love about it they want to go play imagination mode is a good one think it smoking i i actually i actually watched an episode last night after my kids went down because felt i felt like you want to talk about like the bottom
00:23:45
Speaker
of feeling like a dad. I felt horrible yesterday because I was pushing them off. I was disciplinary. I was just, I wasn't feeling it. You reached your limit. Some days you just hit that. You just get overwhelmed with so much stuff and you're trying to be a good dad.
00:24:00
Speaker
um Luckily, my dad, shout out, he's actually watching the kids right now, pop up Papa Nick. um he helped out and and got me out of a funk a little bit but i i actually watched that yesterday because it is a little unrealistic but it got me motivated like okay think i need to do better so i watched it last time without my kids i turned on the tv and it was on i was like all right now that's one of our see like i'll sit there and watch it with them my wife's like just i think it's to more to babysit them and she doesn't pay attention and like she'll walk in sometimes i'm like Yeah. I'm getting like, you're even own choked up. What's wrong with you? I'm like, watch Bluey.
00:24:36
Speaker
Love it. So those episodes are like, I feel like they're for the parents. Yeah, no, yeah absolutely. Yep. Yep. That's some of my favorite, like kid movies are the ones that are geared towards the parents, like a Shrek.
00:24:47
Speaker
Ooh, that's a good one. Oh yeah. we We just, we just found that one not to go back to movies, but my kids are all in or listen to smash mouth. Like that's, that's what they like right now. So, yep.
00:24:58
Speaker
yep oh yeah um all right number four i don't think anyone's gonna get it's an old school one i think it's even before our era reading rainbow i was gonna actually guess that oh yeah yeah oh yeah that was around and we watched that that was definitely 90s yeah yeah definitely yeah um ladies five schoolhouse rock oh yeah isn't that the one that taught you about a bill Yeah, I'm just a bale.
00:25:27
Speaker
I can still do the preamble. yeah the pream That's how we learn the preamble of the bale, right? yeah ah yeah yeah we're not but yeah See? That show worked.
00:25:37
Speaker
I mean, is Looney Tunes going to on here? No. Looney Tunes? I was going to start thinking, yeah, some of those. It sucks that they don't have that anywhere anymore. like I've showed it to my kids a couple times. It's like HBO Max.
00:25:49
Speaker
Do they have it on there? They do. It's all the Looney Tunes. I used to just love Saturday morning cartoons and watching that. Watching Wile E. Coyote get his head blown up 500 times. yeah you You guys ever do the the the carrot thing where you're like,
00:26:02
Speaker
what's up doc and my kids look at me like i have 10 heads and i'm like like so i turned it on and i will say this the the coyote and all that stuff i mean it's some it's a violent stuff oh yeah this guest was immediately smacking you know my daughter like oh my god what that we shouldn't be watching this right you know yeah so the The next one is a, I mean, God, therere I think they're coming out with a movie with it.
00:26:29
Speaker
um It's a girl who turns into a cat. Or not a cat, but she turns into her own. Oh, yeah. Dora plays this.
00:26:41
Speaker
Yeah, Dora the Explorer. oh were Oh, it's Dora. Oh, I was thinking Gabby Cat. yeah Gabby Cat something like that. Maybe I'm mixing them up. Maybe it wasn't Dora. I was thinking Gabby. Gabby Cat turns into a cat. That one was not a broad mention because my kids were like, where's that at? I've ran this list by my kids and they were like, what?
00:27:01
Speaker
Now, Dora the Explorer, my kids don't like. They just never have gotten into it. so um a movie came out a little while ago. They liked that one, but it's not on the repeat list.
00:27:13
Speaker
Yeah. um Number seven, I was shocked, but it's actually one of my top top ones. I don't think you guys are going to guess it. It's on PBS. they've It's been on for like 20-something seasons.
00:27:25
Speaker
Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. Arthur. Wild Kratz. Oh, yeah. Have you guys seen Wild Kratz? I like kids like that. Oh, my God. I love it. Anytime comes on, I'm like, all right, what are we going to learn about today? It's a cartoon and it's educational.
00:27:38
Speaker
It's educational. Perfect. Who would think? Yeah, that's that's the theme. PBS is killing it here on this list. Right? Yeah. They got something figured out. Something's going on. to I think they did get defunded.
00:27:52
Speaker
um like all are so great I feel like Daniel Tiger would be above that one. Oh, DT. That was <unk> huge for us. Didn't come up. Thomas Tank Engine? no No, this next one is controversial. he actually just passed away, but it had high ratings.
00:28:11
Speaker
Just passed away. it it goes back to the 90s. um I think he got on caught in some sex stuff. Oh, oh boy. died? harmman he died Yeah, he died, he died and i think, a few years ago. Oh, I didn't know he passed away. We, like, were the tail end of people. I mean, TV's Playhouse movie was, like, I'd seen that. yeah like The big adventure. He was more 80s.
00:28:34
Speaker
That was a good movie. and when He played a weird character. and yeah guys i remember that movie? Johnny Depp? Oh, yeah. He was, like, in a bunch of timber. Yeah, he was, like, yeah just kind of a.
00:28:46
Speaker
kind of a Not a background actor. And he was curious. No. And of course, I think everyone has this, has their own top. So that was kind of the top list right there.
00:28:57
Speaker
I actually got with my kids as I was developing. I'm like, all right, what do you guys think? And and they were like, looked at me like I had 10 heads with some of these, but I was, I was like, all right, what's your top?
00:29:08
Speaker
And we went through, was Bluey, Wildcats, Mickey Mouse, Clubhouse, Paw Patrol, and then Blippi. Blippi missed our house, thank God.
00:29:18
Speaker
I know. Thank God. Well, and and, you know, the funniest thing was then we started a little controversy internally, just us three, because we were talking about Miss Rachel versus Blippi, and I brought that in the mix.
00:29:30
Speaker
And, of course, my kids didn't really watch a whole lot of Miss Rachel because I personally think she's kind of annoying, but I know lot of people think that Blippi's annoying versus Miss Rachel. But...
00:29:43
Speaker
What are your thoughts on the top? we We only did the the well Blippi. We only watch here. or Their kids were never into and we've never turned on Miss Rachel. So who I think I'm winning. Hey, you're winning that. But I agree. Bluey's definitely a household favorite. In fact, that's one of those shows.
00:30:01
Speaker
If we're not reading a book before bed, we're letting the kids watch like one or two episodes of Bluey. That's what I usually go to. It's quick. It's yeah it hits really well. Yeah. So I agree with that being in the top, at least.
00:30:14
Speaker
You had to lock it on our Apple TV. So you've like put in a password to get into the YouTube now because yeah, you never know what's popping up next. Who is the one kid, ah Ryan or whatever it is.
00:30:25
Speaker
He did that. You know why? Because he got sponsored by all these toys. And guess what? My kids immediately did. Hey, can you buy us this toy? And I would tell him no. exactly like they want i And Ryan got it. And then he's got his own toys.
00:30:37
Speaker
I'm like in, in, in my wife and I just completely next it because of the fact it wasn't adding any value. He unboxed toys that brian and he's a millionaire from, from well, content creation. But at the end of the day, it's like, man, come on.
00:30:53
Speaker
But yeah. So final thing, music. So music, I know this is a big one.

Children's Music Preferences

00:31:01
Speaker
Top one. Think of the most annoying song out there.
00:31:05
Speaker
Are we just talking kid songs? Kid songs. Now we're talking kid songs. Lamb Chaps Play-Along, obviously. This one. like Okay. I mean haven't thought about that show in so long.
00:31:16
Speaker
I'll be jamming. This could be easily one of the most annoying songs ever. And think of. I don't know, just your kids running around probably singing this for hours on end. Let it go.
00:31:29
Speaker
Okay. Let it go is number three on the top songs that um this is the top five. I just, my brain's not working too good. We're all in this demon pop. team and um yeah Let me, let me, that's all that's playing in our house right now. Golden. And you know what? I actually, actually like it.
00:31:46
Speaker
i like it, but I don't like it when I've heard it 37 times and I haven't even had breakfast. So, so luckily K-Bob K-Bob, well, wasn't out when I did this research. So this was a,
00:31:56
Speaker
a few weeks ago. It probably was, but probably wasn't big enough. expect fresher content next time. Oh my word. Okay. i'm So this involves a number, right when I say it, you guys are going to get it.
00:32:08
Speaker
A bunch of sharks. Baby shark. Baby Pinkfong. Over that. Oh my God. That was the top kid song out there. And immediately I'm like, yeah.
00:32:22
Speaker
I tried to black that one out. yeah We got over that one. It's not a song that's playing if anymore in our home. We're all the new dads. I think there's a phase of like two to three. There's going be some bullshit song that's played over and over in your house. going to drive you nuts. You're to hear it your dreams. Nothing you can do about it.
00:32:41
Speaker
yeah just of it That's it. Because then you just have to do it because the tantrums are even worse. So just let it just play the song.
00:32:53
Speaker
the The craziest thing, I'm literally getting some stuff ready and and my kids are watching the tablet and it's Cocomelon. I'm like, what the heck? We did a lot of Cocomelon as well. So now the second and third one, I totally agree, even though I can't ah can't place where the second one is, but it was Happy by Pharrell Williams.
00:33:12
Speaker
Oh, that's Minions. Minions. Okay. Okay. Thank you. I was trying to place it in my head. Now, the third one is easily one of my favorite songs, and it's a part of ah another Disney movie. Or not a Disney movie, another movie. It's got to be that Justin Timberlake.
00:33:30
Speaker
Can't stop the feeling. Can't stop from the feeling. Yes. We... yeah We listened to that yesterday and the kids were going crazy. I even had a, had a random guy pull up to me in this like 3,500 truck and I'm dancing and he just gave me the simple, like, yep.
00:33:47
Speaker
Your dad. yeah living Yeah. Dad living right there. but yeah so So that's three. ah Fourth was Let It Go. yeah And then rounding out the top five. And Mike, this this I feel like this might be a little bit more you. Yeah, it's older.
00:34:03
Speaker
This is me, The Greatest Showman. ah You know, i didn my family's going to yell at me when they see this because my family loves that movie. Like my sisters and mom and dad. Yeah.
00:34:14
Speaker
I've never seen it. Seriously, I would have seen I like that type of stuff. I love Broadway. Has anyone seen The Greatest Showman? No, apparently it's fantastic. It's a Hugh Jackman. Yeah, Hugh Jackman. Thank you. Yeah. Nope.
00:34:26
Speaker
We've seen bits and pieces and I've caught it a little bit. And I did listen to that song. And of course my kids started singing along. I'm like, how the heck do you know this I don't want to see Wolverine dancing and singing.
00:34:38
Speaker
You know, yeah I saw some characters you got. to That's his bread and butter though. That's how got came up though. Like originally it was Broadway stuff. Right. Wow. Yeah. yeah but Some I agree, some I disagree. a Music, yeah. We could argue about this for three days. There's no doubt about it.
00:34:56
Speaker
and i Music, I just try to control. I try to play the songs I like and I play them over and over so then they start requesting them. And then it's like, okay, we can keep that going. And Magic Dragons has been good. AJR's another good one. Shane's starting ask for Metallica. Oh, buddy. We do a little Fall Out Boy. They don't they they don't do it. They don't do the rock? Oh, my kids love it. They're with wife in the car too much. Avery wants to go to the next Breaking Benjamin concert whenever they come out. Nice. She's like, I want to go, Dad. So, we'll do the hot take.
00:35:27
Speaker
So, this is more for our era, but the Happy Gilmore 2 movie. I still haven't seen it. I gotta watch it. I want to watch it with my wife. I let the kids watch with me.
00:35:38
Speaker
Might have been a mistake, but we were cracking up. all The whole family watched it together. We were laughing so freaking hard. Great job, Adam Sandler. agree. Good job. There's a scene in the movie where Happy's kids are in it and like they got a thing for mooning people. like A week later, I'm outside mowing the lawn and Brody's banging on the glass.
00:36:03
Speaker
And he drops his pants.
00:36:07
Speaker
That's great. Thanks, Adam. Dude, hit all the nostalgia nostalgia buttons. Yeah, that was a good one. No, and I thought it was a really good, you know, sequel to that.

00:37:06
Speaker
