Introduction to 'Take It To Go'

00:00:05
Speaker
Hi, I'm Kiara. And I'm Lena, and you're listening to Take It To Go, a one-stop shop podcast about all things life, love, and lol-worthy. Lena, can we address the British elephant in the room? Oh, there's a British elephant. Is it? Or does it have anything to do with Prince William?
00:00:25
Speaker
It has something to do with Prince William, but it also has something to do with the fact that there are people who listen to this podcast who have not heard our voices in a very long time. Yes, yes. And so what do we want to give them today? What's the tea? What's the tea? Is there any tea? There's nothing new with me, although you have celebrated something recently.

Lena's Pilot Exam Triumph

00:00:49
Speaker
Yes, I'm a pilot. She's a pilot. Yay. I have passed my exam, my stressful exam that took me a year to get to because of plans, breaking down, switching instructors, switching flight schools, and having to prove myself all over again. But finally, it's done. And I don't have the plastic license, but I have the paper to prove it.
00:01:15
Speaker
Okay, explain what that means for the lay person who's not a pilot. There's a difference between what you can do with one. Okay, and I also don't have your driver's license. So I blame this on you. No, I do have my driver's license. I just haven't driven in three years. Okay, well, when you get your driver's license, they give you a paper license before they send your plastic one. So same way with pilots, they send you with paper to prove that you have it until you get the plastic one in the mail.
00:01:44
Speaker
I didn't realize there was a physical license that you get. Yeah, it's got basically your government number, your FTN number, and your information, name, date of birth, very basic information from the FAA.
00:02:03
Speaker
So when you're driving and you're a plane before you're about to take off and the police show up and they're like ma'am you're going above the flying speed limit and you pull out your license and registration you have a physical license.
00:02:16
Speaker
If you want to put it that way, sure, usually they don't stop you when you're going. They'll come up to your plane when you're pre-flighting or like checking out the plane before you even get in to take off. And then they'll say like, hey, I just want to make sure that you're valid and they'll check you there. You give them your license and your medical. Wait, so there is actually someone who's like policing this guy before you take off? It's random. It can be the NTSB.
00:02:45
Speaker
Wait, did I say that? Yeah, the NTSB, the FAA, like any type of administrator from them, or it can be TSA or law enforcement, local or state.
00:02:55
Speaker
Oh, all right. Well, congratulations on getting your paper license. Plastic is incoming.

Aspirations of a Celebrity Pilot

00:03:03
Speaker
And but like, it seems like you fly more now than you have ever flown before. I'm in grad school. I'm in grad school. I mean, I've got my license, but I'm going and I'm doing my instrument reading, which means that I'm flying only with reference to instruments at the same time I'm doing ground school. So it's like,
00:03:23
Speaker
35 hours worth of classroom study which takes like two years it feels like so every day I'm just watching videos taking notes No, no, it feels like that. It's 35 hours
00:03:34
Speaker
Oh, 35. Okay. It's not, it's not like an actual, like there's no timer counting it down, if that makes sense. They just label it as 35 hours of content, but it's long. It takes so much time to do even just like one section of a lesson because it's like broken down in stages and parts. And then in those parts you have lessons and then in those lessons are several questions. So I'm just taking notes and it's taking hours and hours every day.
00:04:04
Speaker
I'm basically in grad school. What's at the end of this phase for you? Then it's my commercial license. And so then I have to fly at least I think it's 200. I think it's I haven't not looked at. See, that's the bad part about me, too. I don't really look at what I have coming. 250 hours. Question mark. Don't.
00:04:30
Speaker
Somebody's going to correct me. I'm going to be like, no, it's blah, blah, blah, blah. We all hold you to it. There's pilots that will. And I really don't care because they're so know it all. And I just kind of say, like, at a certain point, I can stress myself out or I can just go and do it. I'm in the stage of just do it. I'm Nike.
00:04:47
Speaker
Just do it. Just do it because like it's got to get done whether I know about it right now or not So I'll figure it out when I get to that stage either way I'll do my commercial license and then I'll do my multi-engine rating and then I'll start building time for the airlines and Then get my ATP license And then you'll be a commercial pilot. You can start making money flying celebrities, right? Yes private jets
00:05:15
Speaker
Are there, like, is there like a dream celebrity that you have? Like, do you want to be flying out of Nashville and be the go-to pilot for the country scene? Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to fly Taylor Swift.
00:05:28
Speaker
That's my goal. You hear it here first. You hear it here first. Nina is going to be the pilot of the eras tour. I have, hopefully, we'll cross our fingers. But either way, I'll take anybody else. So don't worry. And that's the thing, too, is that I really don't have a specific because I'm not mega fans of any of these people. I just kind of feel like they would have the best or most fun schedule because I really just want to go places. And she's going a lot of places.
00:05:55
Speaker
Yeah, so I mean even Beyonce now, she's country too. So Beyonce would be cool. I feel like she would go a lot of places as well. And then who else was like the Isendaya? Because she's a half-life pirate. Why wouldn't she? She's India. Have you seen her on a commercial flight? I mean, I don't pay enough attention. I have seen Kanye West at LAX, not in person, but
00:06:21
Speaker
But did he get on like an American airline flight in first class? I don't know. He was like walking in the regular terminal. I mean, I've never been to LA, so I don't know how it's set up between where the famous rich people go and where everyone else goes. But I don't know. I just assumed that, you know, that some celebrities at least like being seen at airports.
00:06:43
Speaker
I don't know. And that's the thing too. I have to figure out who flies private, but I imagine a lot of them do. I know I was famous, I would fly private. And it's getting a lot of backlash because everyone's talking about your carbon footprint and the emissions and especially on Taylor Swift. Like she uses an airplane to walk her dog, all the millions. Guys, get over it. I mean, there are so many companies that are killing our environment right now as we speak.
00:07:08
Speaker
She is not the person that's destroying the planet. I promise you she's not flying enough to make that big of an impact.

Private vs. Commercial Flights

00:07:15
Speaker
She's probably a part of the problem. But then again, there are so many people who have private jets who you do not know the name of who are flying so much more than she is.
00:07:26
Speaker
It's like business people. All the time. They're people who fly out every single day for work. That's what they do. They wake up early, they get on their private jet and they get flown out to work because it's in another state. Every single day.
00:07:41
Speaker
Well, it can be and people do it all the time. So all I'm trying to say is that just because you know a person's name and you see them flying doesn't mean that they're the sole reason or a big reason for your ecological changes happening. She's not the issue.
00:07:59
Speaker
you know what i was thinking about i was thinking about just like when you are someone who's finally flying private you've got the money you can do it consistently it's so hard to go backward like just from working for the football team and flying
00:08:15
Speaker
charter. It's hard to go back to like going to TSA and you've got to wait online. Like when you are flying charter, you just show up, roll up in a bus. They take you like straight to the plane. You walk up the stairs, get down, go back on the bus and you're, you're good. And we just, we just got to have like the slightest little sliver of that. So I can see why someone like Taylor Swift or Beyonce is like, I can't go back to
00:08:44
Speaker
first class like it's just a whole other universe than just commercial first class you have to also think about the piece that you lose out on because these people are mega famous you're always going to have someone that tries to get to them that tries to ask them questions that tries to speak to them and then let's say if they have security okay well get security have people that tell them that they can't go up to them okay well then guess what they get labeled as a rude celebrity
00:09:13
Speaker
this random person come up to them on the plane. Like, no. I mean, it's peace of mind for these people because they're too famous for their own privacy. They're too famous for their own good. So that's a way for them to be able to travel, not have to worry about other people, just focus on what they have coming or what they need to do. Like, I couldn't imagine being famous and flying with people who know me and who recognize me.
00:09:41
Speaker
Okay, but you know what?

Royal Choices in Air Travel

00:09:43
Speaker
And gosh, talk about a segue. Harry, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fly commercial. That's, okay. They are a part of the, well, we're a part of the royal family. I'll give them that. But they make their own choices. The royal family is also contentious in terms of like, yeah, they're famous. They are famous.
00:10:09
Speaker
but for what reasons are they famous? And then like, how can they, they're not, also like, how should I say this? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not a part of the royal family any longer, thus they fly commercial because they don't have money.
00:10:24
Speaker
Right. Right. But I mean, I think at least when you were what you were talking about when it comes to just like the celebrity and attention and the privacy, I feel like for an American audience, because they're not royals anymore,
00:10:40
Speaker
They are so much more popular in America today than they ever would have been had they just stayed in the UK and lived the life that Kate Milton and Prince William are living. True. But I would say, first of all, the actual royal family takes private. I mean, I'm sure they still fight private. You're right. But I'm just saying, you never know a person's true flight schedule.
00:11:11
Speaker
Like you said, you don't know that they're taking every single flight on an actual commercial jet. You don't know. Also, their reasoning is just for taking a commercial plane. I mean, they might be able to get away with it in some cases, but I'm sure before the documentary came out when they were running from the paparazzi, you wouldn't see them on a commercial flight.
00:11:33
Speaker
So I feel like they have to feel like it could be some sort of thing to try to bring back some sort of normalcy into their lives. Oh, people start to see us out, then we'll become more of a common name, then it'll be fine. We don't have to worry, et cetera, et cetera. Maybe their popularity has actually died down a little bit. There's still a well-known name, but I imagine they're not being chased to the extent that they were at that time. So I don't know. Maybe it's just like their baby steps to go back to the public sphere.
00:12:03
Speaker
I wonder even what the extent of their, what they're defining commercial as. I don't see me going on a flight and just sitting next to them in business class or sitting next to them in coach. If they are in coach,
00:12:23
Speaker
which could make sense for them, I can easily imagine them buying out the last three rows of a plane or last four rows of a plane so they have an entire section to themselves. So even though it is not the experience of first class, it's more of the privacy because no one's coming back next to you. So it's like a happy medium. Why wouldn't you just buy out, like why would you buy out rows that's more expensive than just being in first class?
00:12:51
Speaker
because you don't want anyone next to you, like even a little bit. Even in first class. Yeah. So like if you want to have a conversation, then maybe it's a little sensitive. Like if you're in first class, like you might have some, unless like, obviously I'm not talking about like the, like United Arab Emirates and Qatari fights where you've got like your own booth, you know, or like your, like your Emirates or I think it's something like that. I'm not talking about those. I'm talking about like,
00:13:20
Speaker
flying to New York from LA, and you're in the back, and you don't necessarily have a first class that actually has the private little booths. You just have a really nice seat and a meal. That's probably a crappy meal, but still a meal. Yeah, I guess I could see that. I don't know. I would have to ask that question, but I doubt they would share it. You'd just have to be there to see it. But I'm sure if they did that, people would say it by now. Someone would have said something.
00:13:50
Speaker
I think it gets like some of the least like dirt sheet rag magazines sort of pick up a little bit every once in a while when it happens, but not. I'm sure they're probably missing some things. Hmm. Yeah. Hmm. Okay.
00:14:07
Speaker
Yeah, Harry and Meghan are into philanthropy and all this stuff. I don't buy that they don't have money. They have tons of money. They have tons of money. Especially with her Spotify podcast deal. Yeah. Tons of money. Yeah. Also, I don't know. Wait, go ahead. No, I was going to say, I don't know if you've ever tracked any of the news or the lore around her podcast, but I'm pretty sure
00:14:31
Speaker
Like the story that came out about that was that there was someone else, like someone on her team who would actually conduct the conversation or interview with the person. And she would just like in post-production record in her parts. So it seemed like she was actually talking to someone even though she didn't conduct the interview at all. Oh, wow.
00:14:56
Speaker
That is kind of- I don't think I'm making that up. Is it a recording like how we're doing video as well and they do like cutscenes? No, I don't think it was. It's all audio. No, it wasn't. Yeah, it was just all audio. Oh, okay. Interesting. So is it kind of like a talk show? Because I've never heard her podcast. I've never heard of her podcast, to be honest with you.
00:15:20
Speaker
I've never listened to it, honestly. Okay. But I'm not going to turn this into something like that. If it's anything like Prince Harry's book, like Prince Harry's book. Oh my gosh. I don't think we need to listen. It should be very juicy. But yeah, I think people to listen to are uncomfortable. So yeah, no, I guess I'm I don't feel like I'm missing out.
00:15:44
Speaker
No, probably not. I'm not super plugged into the royal family outside of like the social media drama about what's going on with Kate Middleton and where in the world she is right now. They say she's missing? You know what I think it is though? Okay, because today I hopped on Twitter because we were talking about it briefly. I saw an article referencing coach Prince William's mistress.
00:16:11
Speaker
and how they might allegedly have a child together.

Royal Rumors and Relationships

00:16:15
Speaker
Wait, he has a mistress? He has a mistress. And I don't know. Like, this is just a known thing, not even a secret, like, okay. Allegedly, it was his most well-kept secret. I very quickly skimmed this article, by the way, so I don't know the source or anything right here. His well-kept secret, they've been dating since 2014.
00:16:33
Speaker
It's a freaking long time to keep it secret. Ten years? Ten years. And apparently it's been causing a rift in Kate and William's relationship, which obviously it would, because it's an affair. And I mean, we're so familiar with the Royal Family Affairs and how this can blow up into something very, very, very bad. But either way, I digress.
00:16:59
Speaker
I imagine that the whole Kate Middleton missing deal might be related to the fact that she's just a woman who is angry at her husband for having an affair with a mistress who looks like a skeleton version of her, mind you. They look alike? They kind of look alike. They favor one another. But the mistress, it literally looks like a malnourished Kate Middleton. Oh my gosh. I'm a little bit, that's the only
00:17:29
Speaker
I guess that's the only solution to this issue I can see because everyone's talking about this dumb edited photo of Kate and her kids.
00:17:36
Speaker
The edit was really, really bad. You saw, yeah? It's terrible. Based on whatever conspiracies have been floating around Twitter and TikTok, I don't think the four of them were even together to take that photo. If you haven't seen it, we'll link to it in the show notes. There's this photo that, in my opinion, it was just like Frankenstein together of Kate and her three kids, no William and no wedding ring, by the way.
00:18:04
Speaker
Oh, true. They just sort of like pieced together photos from the four of them at different moments and made one composite photo and released it for Mother's Day. I mean, I know she's been battling some health issues and had surgery, but yeah, there's just something weird going on. First of all, do you not have a photo with all of the kids?
00:18:30
Speaker
She's their mother, regardless of her status as a princess, okay? And I feel like they could have chosen any photo from the past of all of them together and said, here, let's post this one. Understanding that Kate is possibly sick or has something going on surgical wise and needs to recover from it. And just put that out for the public. You don't need to act
00:18:55
Speaker
like everything is okay and that there's a brand new photo that's being taken now of all of them because the editing of her shirt like her face is obviously pasted on because there's a stark line right here yeah where there's a top magazine cover that shows her face in that exact same exact same position yeah so it's obvious the staircase in the background it's like
00:19:19
Speaker
almost like AI.

Public Image and Paparazzi

00:19:20
Speaker
Oh, I miss the staircase. Nobody's talked about the staircase. I looked at the photo and I'm like looking at it. I'm like, it's right there. It looks like, you know how in AI the stairs are kind of offset like that? It's almost like, I know it's not stairs behind her. It's like a porch or like leading up to a door, but it's like a step up, you know? And it's kind of, it's off center. It's off center. It's misaligned is the word. It's misaligned.
00:19:47
Speaker
and then of course you have the clear HD hand that's around one kid and the blurry hand around the other kid and the skirt around her daughter that's like bellowed out like it doesn't look like it's fitting some people said that that could be just the angle that it shot or whatever maybe the skirt was bent a certain way I just feel
00:20:07
Speaker
The No Wedding Ring, though, I didn't hear that one. Yeah, No Ring. Also, I'm going to plug our AI podcast episode, because we did talk about AI and how to identify it. And if there was AI used, Lena's the person who would know because
00:20:23
Speaker
she's into this sort of thing. Yeah, I do look at a lot of AI articles and pictures. They could have just not released anything at all. They honestly didn't have to. I think they said Happy Mother's Day from the Royal Family, but they invited this controversy. Maybe intentionally, by the way. Maybe to get the attention off of
00:20:47
Speaker
Okay, talk about it, conspiracy. They're taking the attention off of who and what. You know, taking, taking the attention off of William and his affair, because I imagine maybe there was a threat made internally, not to say that it was by Kate, but just to say that somebody might have threatened something and said, Hey, I know this is coming out. Because they do that with the royal family. That's what we saw. If you watched
00:21:09
Speaker
the Harry and Meghan Markle documentary on Netflix, they would always say that there were sometimes warnings from the press, from the paparazzi, and they would say, hey, this is about to be published. You have X amount of time. And all you have to do is just prepare for it. There's nothing else you can do because you know it's going to come out.
00:21:29
Speaker
Because really, the royal family wants you to think that they have power. Well, they don't have power. They are literally just a silk, almost like the Kardashians in America. Yeah, they're figureheads. They're figureheads. They are literally just for people's entertainment. And that entertainment comes at the expense of their own personal lives. Yeah.
00:21:55
Speaker
Yeah, go ahead, continue. That's the difference, though, with the Kardashians, right? They volunteered to do that. It was the mom, it was Chris, it was all the girls that they all agreed to have their faces out there. But it's almost like if the Kardashians continue, if Stormi grows up, Dream, all of their kids grow up.
00:22:14
Speaker
And they now take over this stuff and become famous. And then after a while, it's just their kids become famous naturally. And then it's like, without ever accepting anything, without ever agreeing to anything, they're born into this family that has to be in the spotlight just because they have a certain last name or a certain language. That's what the Royal Family is.
00:22:37
Speaker
Yeah, from from our American perspective, for sure.

Affairs vs. Polyamory

00:22:41
Speaker
One thing that I think this is related, but kind of a tangent, we keep saying this woman who William is allegedly with is a mistress. I don't know that like, if you are married to someone, and you know that they are with someone else,
00:22:59
Speaker
and you sort of just accept it for 10 years, that to me is not a mistress. That's polyamory. That's my hot take. If you know you've been cheated on for 10 years, you're not cheated on anymore. You are in a polyamorous relationship. Yeah. I hate that I agree, but I agree. It's not. Is it even cheating? Because you know. You've accepted it. I'm just going to allow my husband to go sleep with this other woman who looks exactly like me.
00:23:29
Speaker
And I'm just going to take my photoshopped, edited AI photos with my kids and pretend like it's not happening. OK, but let me ask you a question. And this is a you personal question. OK. You're married to a family that has billions of dollars, that own so much land in the world, that oversee so many countries in the Commonwealth. Are you giving that up because there's one little girl sitting there in the background and you have kids with this man?
00:23:57
Speaker
He's a good man, Savannah. He's a good man. I'm just saying, not to say that I think that their life is glorious, but asking you, considering all, and the kids, just consider everything, okay? Are you really gonna leave him because you don't wanna be seen as being in this polyamorous relationship because you know that he's cheating on you with this mistress?
00:24:23
Speaker
Lena, I don't know. No, you gotta make a decision because you're the princess. I'm the princess, knowing my family background. You could be the queen one day because Charles is on his last leg.
00:24:38
Speaker
Lina, I couldn't do it. I couldn't be the queen. I couldn't do it, Lina. My dignity is worth more to me than being able to fly private with billions of dollars. I couldn't go home to this person every night knowing that I'm smelling someone else's perfume on him.
00:25:00
Speaker
I couldn't do it. You don't have to sleep in the same room because you got 50 other rooms to choose from. So wait, he just gets to be with whoever he wants. And I'm single and miserable in my own marriage. You can probably be with whoever you want to be with. No, but then you know, so then you write. But then it's like.
00:25:21
Speaker
Gosh, that's like a polycule. It's not even polyamory. It's like a polycule. I'm with another person. He's with another person. And then we just sort of what fake it in the public, but it's not even faking it in public since the public knows that we're both with other people too.
00:25:38
Speaker
Yeah, and I guess the whole thing is the image of the real family though, because they are a family. They want to seem loyal to one another and loving of one another. So you can't ruin that image in that way. What would you do?
00:25:53
Speaker
Girl, I'm staying. Yes. There are women who are poor and miserable.

Staying in Royalty for Family's Sake

00:26:00
Speaker
Why can't I be rich and miserable? No, as long as I can get away. Because if there's this whole thing where I have to stay in the castle and I can't go anywhere, let me go to Maui and be sad and cry over him while I have this beautiful island man fanning me.
00:26:19
Speaker
You'll find a way to manage. If I have to stay in that castle and suffer, then I think I could agree with you and I'd have to leave. But the thing is, you know what he's going to do? He's going to take the kids. You can't take the kids.
00:26:39
Speaker
His father is the king. You really think you're going to win that settlement? You probably can't. Okay, so I imagine she's staying for the kids. I know you. I would stay for the kids. I would stay for the kids. Nina, you could not, I know you. There's no way you're going to like be a royal, do your public engagements and appearances. There's no way I'm going to be a royal.
00:27:04
Speaker
Period. Okay. All right. We'll continue. Let's continue. And you're just going to go do, go to a school and meet the kids and just know that all the teachers there know that your husband is cheating on you. I just, you have too much self-respect to have that reputation. I know you couldn't do it. It doesn't matter how much money. But you know what? When they started, when they started whispering, I had my back.
00:27:32
Speaker
I'm gonna say, excuse me, and they're gonna be like, oh, I'm sorry, what? And I'm gonna be like, your princess demands you to speak. That is the name right now. Honestly, like, I don't know, bro, the title. But the kids, I'm doing it for the kids. But no, you're right, the dignity part, I like truly, okay, let's take out the royal family equation because I think their family dynamic is way too complicated.
00:28:01
Speaker
You take that out. And you just say it's some random guy who's wealthy. I'm leaving. I'm praying that there's no prenup that was signed.
