Brighton's Challenging Week and Historical Losses

00:00:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome to the Daily Brighton port podcast brought to you by the Global Sports Podcast Network. It's your boy, the Big JG, and I am joined by Charlie. Charlie, how are we doing this weekend?
00:00:25
Charley
Oh, God, it's been a long week, hasn't it? To be a Brighton fan. um I want to say it's probably been, yeah, it's just been a long week, mate. yeah
00:00:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it's not... I wish a wish for the Brighton fans at home and for us that we were delivering this news and this podcast under better circumstances.
00:00:43
Charley
Okay.
00:00:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
But quite frankly, we have lost to Crystal Palace for the second time this season. our rivals and it is actually, I'm sorry to bring up this fact, but it's the first time since 1932 that Palace have done the double over Brighton.
00:01:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah It's not a great record for us and it's not making this current team and it's not probably... Probably. It's a reason for more fans to inexplicably ask for Herzler's head on social media.
00:01:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
And they probably already are asking for his head after that performance and after that result. But yeah, it's not good reading for Herzler and his boys, especially a new man in charge.
00:01:33
Charley
Yeah, I

Decline in Form and European Hopes Diminish

00:01:37
Charley
think... I couldn't remember that stat. i Sorry, I hoped it was like the 70s, but that still doesn't make it any better. It's nearly 100 years since they've done the double.
00:01:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:01:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Shattered. Yeah.
00:01:47
Charley
Shattered. Yeah, that happened...
00:01:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
A hundred years of legacy.
00:01:49
Charley
That...
00:01:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Gone. Within a year. Yeah.
00:01:53
Charley
And also, obviously, the biggest defeat in so many years with the Forest game. i mean, Hurts the youngest manager.
00:01:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:02:00
Charley
He's getting the good stats, but he's also getting the bad stats as well.
00:02:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:02:04
Charley
I don't...
00:02:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
so Yeah, thinking about it, we are record breakers this season. If we want to put a spin on this season at the end, we're record breakers.
00:02:10
Charley
it Yeah.
00:02:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
What an amazing thing. We won't say what we're the record breakers for, but we are record breakers.
00:02:18
Charley
but
00:02:21
Charley
Unless we can get our biggest finish, that's the only thing a record he's got to do now. He's got to get a pair of positives. There's got to be a positive record he's going to break.
00:02:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Exactly.
00:02:30
Charley
hang on. but hi i
00:02:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:02:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, this season, oh well, it's now back-to-back losses as well after we lost to Aston Villa midweek. And it is, ah guess, after we we were looking so good for so long, especially to begin or that in 2025, we've looked really promising.
00:02:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
We got a couple wins under our belt, went for a massive win streak, really, and then started getting ourselves back into the European places
00:02:57
Charley
yeah
00:03:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
giving our fans hope, and now it's kind of crumbling around us. We need a good reset next week against Leicester, and I feel like then hopefully we can start picking up wins again and we can start competing for Europa League or even Champions League if fifth is still knocking about and up for grabs.
00:03:20
Charley
I love that optimism that Xavi and Stig is still being thrown.
00:03:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:03:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's still my cards. You never know.
00:03:24
Charley
It's still on the cards. if we We do never know. With Chelsea dropping points, if Newcastle lose tomorrow, then all right, I'm amazed.
00:03:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah And
00:03:36
Charley
But i'm still not I'm still not buying that yet. I can't buy that.
00:03:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
No. And do you know what's even worse? Is that by losing to Crystal Palace, they're also on an amazing run of form. I hate to say it. and They've also crept within four points of us.
00:03:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
And they're, like we said off air, they're starting to look like they're
00:03:58
Charley
Yes.
00:03:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
trying to get into the mix for the at least the Conference League places, with Bournemouth dropping points around us, Brentford as well. Fulham did pick up a win today, so that's gonna that's not even worse for us, really, that they've picked up points.
00:04:12
Charley
yeah
00:04:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, Palace are now in this little dogfight for a European place, which is even worse. If they get European places after us mocking them at the beginning of the season...
00:04:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
for how bad they were and how Oliver Glasner was basically a flash in the pan last season. I'm going to be mortified.

Criticism of Brighton's Defensive Lineup

00:04:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely mortified.
00:04:34
Charley
but It's not happening. I'm going to say it's not happening. They're not doing it. They're not doing it. They're not.
00:04:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Fingers crossed.
00:04:40
Charley
ah that They're not doing it.
00:04:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
and
00:04:42
Charley
It could be a delusion we said, isn't it?
00:04:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, they've...
00:04:44
Charley
They're not doing it.
00:04:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, they've lost a two key men, which we will touch on later on, and all the all the red cards and all the drama that took place in ah yesterday's game.
00:04:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
But Charlie, just give me your thoughts on the the game itself and what you kind of thought of it.
00:05:03
Charley
It was, yeah, the game itself, as a classic, pal I would say it's probably the most entertaining. ah Not a lot of teams create chances. I think from a Brighton perspective, we defensively, I think we' got it wrong.
00:05:19
Charley
ah I mean, we did have we don't have a lot of options in defence anyway, with the likes of Veltman, Kelly or Glew out. Yeah. Lamptey, Webster, we're limited and I think the but the pace that Palace have got on the wing with the likes of Eze, Mateto as well and they're just up to that that the ability to get high quickly and counter-attack, we just didn't prepare for that.
00:05:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Webster now.
00:05:47
Charley
They would left so much space but I know we'll touch on the goals, but like the goals came from like the, the Palace players driving, Gage is driving through our defense.
00:05:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:05:58
Charley
It's like that, not picking up the players, giving Eze the space for the second goal. Um, To get the ball in. It just... It wasn't great. um Obviously, we got... I think the first half was probably better.
00:06:11
Charley
we We had a couple of decent chances with Belieber. Ayari at the end. I do feel for Ayari. He's really trying to get a goal.
00:06:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah.
00:06:19
Charley
it's It's just never falling right in through.
00:06:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah we are The poor bloke, yeah.
00:06:21
Charley
He's never hitting the post. um And I actually thought it a very good finish, considering where it was. But, yeah, I just...
00:06:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm.
00:06:27
Charley
It wasn't great. It was bad. And it's just that to lose... in that manner and to then obviously them going down to nine men for still not to get anything out of it it just did yeah shows i think the week i think the international break oh that's one no one likes the march international break like it kills it kills momentum it killed the momentum um and i think it's just yeah we're just it's since then it's just dropped and this is the worst time to play palace i think for us
00:06:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
and still not be able to, Yeah.
00:06:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:06:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, actually, good point. I think, yeah, really, because we were on such a good run of form before the international break. The international break comes around and suddenly we look off it. And I think a lot of our players did travel as well.
00:07:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
If you look at Pedro and um they were even called up for ah international duty.
00:07:09
Charley
Yeah.
00:07:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
And ah feel like maybe the travels got onto the back of them. That's why we saw kind of a lackluster Villa performance as well. But yeah, this game was...
00:07:21
Charley
Yeah.
00:07:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
a game of very few chances, like 19 shots in total. ah And most of our shots, four of our 11 shots came after the 90th minute. They were like pop shots, like, oh crap, it's the time's running down.
00:07:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Let's get some shots off. And they were all blocked because Palace were obviously loading the block, loading the box, trying not to concede.
00:07:42
Charley
um
00:07:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
And... It was just a very frustrating game. But it was a game full of talking points, full of drama, which we will touch on in the next segment after this Bionic ad.
00:07:49
Charley
and
00:08:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
And we are back with a Daily Brighton podcast.
00:08:36
Charley
Thank
00:08:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Yeah, I mean, it wasn't a good start for the Seagulls, I'll tell you that.
00:08:41
Charley
you.
00:08:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Conceding within two minutes, and it was that man, Mateta, who's haunted us in the past and continues to haunt us. ah Just an absolute shocking start.
00:08:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Run us through the goal, Charlie. And yeah, like you said, before the ad break, it was unacceptable defending all round, really.
00:09:00
Charley
Yeah, I mean, they've got the ball. We kind of lost the ball high at the pitch. And then you've got the likes of Gay, a centre-back driving at our defence and just being able to walk through.
00:09:11
Charley
I think he got past us. I think Hinchelwood.
00:09:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
I
00:09:14
Charley
I want to say, was Yari? I can't remember.
00:09:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
think Gomez was around him I think he had four men around him at one point it's mental
00:09:18
Charley
I can't remember. It was Gomez. Yeah, and I just say, as a but I do rate Gay. I think he's very good... But he shouldn't be we shouldn't have been allowing that. And then the ball to Eze. Obviously, the pass to Mateta was a great ball. And then we know what the words Mateta can do.
00:09:39
Charley
So the the gap that Dunk... I think he was literally parked between Dunk and Van Hecker. They just didn't. Dunk should have been following him. Dunk should have been on him like glue.
00:09:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:09:50
Charley
like, and just didn't do it. And the ah the finish was a great finish. I can't, you it was a very good goal.
00:09:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah yeah
00:09:57
Charley
But defensively, it was just poor. We shouldn't have just been allowed them to just basically walk through it.
00:10:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
do that
00:10:02
Charley
Three passes out, or even less, probably two passes and goal.
00:10:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:10:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and my I've got to say, my biggest problem with this goal, and I've been on his back basically all season, I think he is way past his prime, and it's Lewis Dunk again.
00:10:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah
00:10:18
Charley
Yeah.
00:10:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
How he's been done, because he's the one marking Mateta when the ball, when Gahee's making that run and no one's tackling him, and then Gahee obviously plays it off.
00:10:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Lewis Dunk is marking him. Mateta does this like little fake faint move, ah like change of direction. And Lewis Dunk has been sold by it. like he
00:10:37
Charley
Yeah.
00:10:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mateta looks to drop deep to receive it, but then instead he goes and makes a run into the box. And Dunk then off him by about five yards from the most simple like fake move or fake move, or whatever you want to call it.
00:10:47
Charley
yeah
00:10:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it's just kind of unacceptable defending.
00:10:54
Charley
So
00:10:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it's defending that makes me call for like, please, please, Adam Webster get fit again, but of which is absolutely crazy to say because Adam Webster, but Lewis Dunk is making Adam Webster look phenomenal.
00:11:01
Charley
yes
00:11:09
Charley
Which I don't know if it's a confidence thing for Dunk. Because you're right this season he has not been anywhere near as good.
00:11:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:11:17
Charley
but ah yeah Like last year I thought Dunk was, I thought he exceptional. He was, he's probably obviously got the England call up a few times.
00:11:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:11:26
Charley
He looked strong. He just looked, like I say, for me he was in the pinnacle. And with it, I don't i don't know what ah Yeah, I don't know whether the injury he took later on, i think in the last season, he's just not been, he's stayed
00:11:44
Charley
The knocks is just there. He's just not getting...
00:11:46
Charley
but He's just not sharp. He did make the mistakes, but he's just not... I don't think he is as sharp with it anymore. And you've got the likes of Webster who's come in. And again, we I know and early on the podcast, I don't know particularly you, Jamie, you were calling for Adam Webster's head.
00:11:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:12:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hated him.
00:12:01
Charley
Absolutely.
00:12:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. perfect
00:12:03
Charley
Particularly after the Chelsea game. um But he had a point to...
00:12:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
He deserved it for that.
00:12:07
Charley
Yeah, he did.
00:12:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
No. 100%.
00:12:07
Charley
i did
00:12:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:12:08
Charley
Yeah, he did. But he came in when Dunk was in the only point to prove and he played very well. And I just don't think Dunk's got that in him anymore. He's not every...
00:12:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:12:16
Charley
And I think pit players know to target Dunk now.
00:12:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
one hundred
00:12:20
Charley
um
00:12:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
and
00:12:21
Charley
they catch him on the break, he's gone. he's in the he died He's left in the dust behind them.
00:12:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:12:27
Charley
He can't catch him.
00:12:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:12:27
Charley
He's not glued to them players. And I think, yeah, yesterday, is ah that cro that that goal was a prime example of the dunk. The dunk, we I feel like we knew a year ago, would have been on that.
00:12:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:12:38
Charley
Hmm.
00:12:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
And, well, I think... I don't know whether... It is, like... Age does just catch up to you at one point in your career, doesn't doesn't it? And it's like, he is 33 years old. And it is kind of that time where he was never blessed with pace anyway.
00:12:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
But, like, he looks... and Even his reading of the game, like that was should have been... like That was back in the day, like you say. That would have been Dunk's bread and butter. He would have read that move and been on it.
00:13:04
Charley
Thank you.
00:13:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
But now he just like his concentration's slipping. like He doesn't have the then pace to correct himself after something like that happens. And it's like so many errors at the back. I think it is time. like As harsh as it is, and as many of us Brighton fans love him and have loved him in the past...
00:13:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
He either needs to be a backup, like full-time backup, reserve player, or hang it up. Like, as brutal as that is. I don't know whether... Maybe cup games I could see him have a role.
00:13:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
I wouldn't like see him anywhere else, which is selfish of me, because obviously he's such a Brighton legend.
00:13:38
Charley
yeah
00:13:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
But... Like, he's not built for the Premier League anymore. I feel like even Igor would do a better job.
00:13:46
Charley
no
00:13:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
And he has done a better job when he stepped in. ah And yeah, that it's a massive problem. Like you say, it could be injuries that he's had in the past and even had an injury this season that's kind of made him not as confident and made him off the ball a bit.
00:14:05
Charley
He's also always, and i'm just kind of a thought, he's really always, again, he's played a lot on the left, at like in the sort of left centre-back role. So I don't know whether that's had an impact.
00:14:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:14:17
Charley
I know Igor, when he's playing with Igor, he's usually, it was him it like Igor usually held that side.
00:14:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:14:23
Charley
um And I just, yeah, I just just don't know whether... i The way I see it, I don't know kind of what centre-back dunk is anymore.
00:14:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:14:33
Charley
Because I felt what what he was previously, he was that he was the last man. He'd throw himself literally in front of everything. But you've got the likes of Van Hecht doing that now. And I feel like they are and Van Hecht is ah definitely a much better version.
00:14:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
and
00:14:48
Charley
a better ah it's but He's our best centre-back.
00:14:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah,
00:14:51
Charley
I think there's no doubt that he has been. And I think he is now that kind of, he's the that kind of player, our centre-back we've got now. So we don't need two of them. We need a different kind of centre-back, which where I don't know where Webster adds a little bit something different to the system.
00:15:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:15:07
Charley
um whereas But yeah, I think I've just, Van Hick and Dunk, I see them as two very too similar centre-backs.
00:15:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Too similar, yeah.
00:15:15
Charley
um And that's when we get caught out.
00:15:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
And...
00:15:17
Charley
Like yesterday, they'd debot they both probably off should be marking the last man.
00:15:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:15:23
Charley
So Van Hick was probably, you could probably say to some degree was his fault, but again, it should be, was Dunk's man.
00:15:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:15:29
Charley
um
00:15:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:15:30
Charley
a It shouldn't have been allowed, but yeah, it was, I think yeah i kind of do, I'm on the bandwagon that Dunk needs to hang out the boots now. It's, if we got European football, go.
00:15:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah I think he's... Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think he's such a he's been such a liability next to Van Hecker. When Van Hecker's all-season has been so good, and, or I say all-season, like, throughout most of the season, he has been phenomenal.
00:15:54
Charley
yeah
00:15:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah And he just had dunk, every time he's played alongside dunk, it's looked like he's had to cover for a dunk mistake, or... Dunk has been responsible for a goal that they've con conceived conceded.
00:16:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
And he's just like, i think Joe said it on one of the podcasts, like he is basically Dunk's babysitter all season.
00:16:16
Charley
and yeah
00:16:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
but Dunk has been such a liability that Van Hecker has then had to step up um and be the man to i do two people's jobs, basically. That's where Webster was at least serviceable.
00:16:26
Charley
Yeah.
00:16:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
for the last couple of games where he was at least holding his own and at some games, like, actually better than Van Hecker. I think the last couple of games i wrote that he was better than Van Hecker before you're injured.
00:16:38
Charley
and
00:16:41
Charley
Yeah.
00:16:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, ah things did pick up though.

Welbeck's Equalizer Brings Temporary Hope

00:16:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
We did get an equaliser.
00:16:46
Charley
Yeah.
00:16:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah It was that guy, Danny Welbeck. If only we had blessed on this podcast because he's back on the score sheet, Danny Welbeck.
00:16:51
Charley
not
00:16:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
And hopefully we can actually see him start springing some goals together and getting on a good run again. ah But yeah, what a lovely finish. And probably more promising, what a lovely ball by Minter.
00:17:08
Charley
Oh, yeah. I mean, that...
00:17:10
Charley
I've got to go... Yeah, yeah i got you and I think a little bit in the build-up. I've got to give a little bit of shout-out to O'Reilly in the build-up as well.
00:17:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Peach.
00:17:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, glad you did.
00:17:16
Charley
um ah Because i thought i know I thought he actually was a really good... I thought a yeah Yari did was actually probably a stand-out. than that. And but the build-up was part of that.
00:17:27
Charley
thought the good ball to Minte. And I think it's just, that's what you kind of want from Minte. I think I do like his ability to drive at players, but he's a bit, I think we don't see a lot of him swinging the ball in like that.
00:17:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah, yeah.
00:17:41
Charley
And I think it was a great ball. um Probably. I mean, i think, as say, thought it was a great ball. And Welbeck was, we talk about age of dunk and,
00:17:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah,
00:17:52
Charley
Yeah, I mean, the age of Welbeck and he's doing like stretching out balls. just He got a little nudge on it to get into the goal. It was brilliant. It's good finish, ah but good awareness of what that's the kind of strike we need and what Welbeck brings to the team.
00:18:06
Charley
He is that guy, that guy, have ah who you just get the ball in, get sunk on it, whatever it is, it will go it will go towards goal.
00:18:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
it
00:18:16
Charley
ah which I think he stands out differently to like the but a Pedro who I think Pedro is more of a direct he like likes to drive he likes to have a shot gun shop but I think Danny Welby is a target man and if you've got balls like that in it was yeah it wass a great finish I think I didn't see much else of Welby after that but it was it was a yeah it was a good goal and it kind of gave a bit of hope for a short time
00:18:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:18:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:18:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah. ah And yeah, like you say, ah well, we've completely contradicted ourselves saying Dunk needs to hang up the boots and Welbeck, because Welbeck's ageing like fine wine, while Lewis Dunk is ageing like age-old milk, which is never ideal.
00:18:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Turns like milk as well, so that's not ideal. But yeah, It's the instincts of Welbeck that I really liked about the goal. To see that Minta wasn't going to drive this time and was actually going to look back to cut back and then swing it in.
00:19:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then ah for Welbeck to have like the mouse to get in front of his defender and then just tap it in.
00:19:11
Charley
Yeah.
00:19:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
think it was it was in front of Munoz, I think it was. And then just ah tap it in that bottom corner.
00:19:18
Charley
yeah
00:19:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Lovely finish as well. But yeah, I think that's where Minta really...
00:19:24
Charley
Thank
00:19:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
like his next stage of development is this being able to do both. Like, cause obviously teams are so scared of his pace. So ah Mitchell was worried about him going down the line.
00:19:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
So then he goes, okay I'll just cut back and swing in a lovely ball. And that's where, if he can start putting them both together, then that's where, hopefully, we can start seeing him thrive and maybe next season and long seasons after that as well.
00:19:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah I guess on this segment, we'll touch on the final

Palace's Lucky Goal and Brighton's Defensive Woes Continue

00:19:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
goal.
00:19:58
Charley
It's.
00:19:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
And absolutely lucky. Luckiest goal I've seen from Munoz. ah I don't want to be ah come off as a bitter fan, but complete luck.
00:20:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
It took a nick. um On its way, he's shot from a ridiculous angle and distance. Then he gets a nick off Esther Pinyan's arse and then takes out reach from Mabruggan and the bottom corner, Jamy.
00:20:28
Charley
yeah But it was unbelievable. He shouldn't have been allowed to shoot from there, in opinion.
00:20:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah That's right, Palace fans, Jamy.
00:20:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, you're true, yeah.
00:20:34
Charley
like How he's been given that much space. But it all starts from, like again, the counter-attack. A condemn counter-attack. Hinchelwood out position. that there was ah it was a theme throughout the game.
00:20:45
Charley
Jose just had so much space to just run.
00:20:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:20:51
Charley
And we're not fast. Yeah.
00:20:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
he Yeah, no.
00:20:53
Charley
but We are not, like...
00:20:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah That's a good one.
00:20:57
Charley
ah Bright defenders are not fast.
00:21:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
No.
00:21:00
Charley
um
00:21:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, Hinchewood, the slow.
00:21:02
Charley
And, like said, we... No.
00:21:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Van Hecker's moderate dunk, they're terrible.
00:21:04
Charley
It's like...
00:21:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
And Esther Pinian, since that injury, he's slow as well.
00:21:08
Charley
I've always... I always say with Estipino, do you know what he jinxed himself when he said he's back? I haven't seen him back yet.
00:21:19
Charley
He hasn't come back...
00:21:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:21:20
Charley
i Yeah, but no, look again, it was a obviously a good ball and we shouldn't have, like I Munoz shouldn't have had the space.
00:21:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
This is not the one I remember, yeah.
00:21:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah
00:21:30
Charley
It was lucky, I believe, but he shouldn't have been allowed to do that. And that's, I think, the difference with our the confidence that Palace attacking players have. oh when we owe say I'm calling Munoz an attacking player.
00:21:44
Charley
Yeah.
00:21:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah, good one.
00:21:45
Charley
But but like do they have the they have the confidence to do that. And I know that brighton they can catch Brian out in these positions on the counter-attack um and then just catalise it.
00:21:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:21:57
Charley
And luck or not, it it shouldn't have they shouldn't have been allowed to do that. um
00:22:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:22:03
Charley
And just yeah I think after that, obviously, the game just kind of went... ah yeah ah
00:22:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. right Went into chaos.
00:22:11
Charley
went to chaos, but it we we know what Palace are like like this season. They're attacking the dominant going forward. And I think but we were scared. I think we were just not putting in man marking. We weren't shutting the ball down.
00:22:27
Charley
that again, could Estepinho move his arse out the way?
00:22:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
basically
00:22:32
Charley
probably it' so but
00:22:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah yeah
00:22:35
Charley
Probably not.
00:22:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Start twerking.
00:22:37
Charley
Yes.
00:22:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
He would have blocked it.
00:22:38
Charley
but let's Take it anywhere, any other direction.
00:22:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:22:43
Charley
Just throw your ass in front of that.
00:22:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
seen yeah My issue of the goal, so obviously it came from, like you say, the counter-attack, and obviously Eze had acres of space because he just ah he floated into the area that Hinchawood left after he had bombed up the pitch to receive the long ball.
00:23:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah And then my thing was, obviously, where it is a counter-attack, and Munoz was up and down that right-hand side all game, so which is something that...
00:23:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
you should if you if Even if you're a Palace neutral, you know that their wingbacks get up and down. like that is one of their That's one of the things that they are known for, that is their bread and butter.
00:23:20
Charley
Yeah.
00:23:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
That's why their system works so well, really, is because ah Mitchell and Munoz are so active down their flanks that they can both defend and attack. And Mitoma kind of needs to read that a lot better, needs to be closer to him because there was no tracking back. Even if you watch back on the replays, Munoz is in the box and Mitoma is still off screen.
00:23:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then he's like left the responsibility to track back to O'Reilly. And O'Reilly is then too late to kind of react and just doesn't get there in time to to have like to the effect the shot or to block the shot.
00:23:55
Charley
Thanks.
00:24:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
And that's where like you need to have... ah know Matoma isn't renowned for tracking back and his defensive work. um And the the thinking is probably keep him up the pitch so then we can then counter back.
00:24:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
But there needs to be some sort of intelligence and in-game... that adaptation where Matoma reads that this is clearly a counter-attack. There's no one down the right-hand side or where he's at that he needs to then follow his man.
00:24:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
And just didn't do that.
00:24:32
Charley
Yeah Yeah ah yeah You know Gregor's point that He's not Matoma is not driving He's not a defensive player Not at all
00:24:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Not at all. Like, he's he's always there for... ah Sometimes, like, if they have if the other team have, like, penned us in for a little while, he'll come back and then do his defensive work.
00:24:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
But, like, he has never switched on to a counter-attack, I don't feel, because I feel he's been told his whole career, you're our fastest player. ah You're good with the ball. You're great at first touches from out the air.
00:25:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
You are our outlet. But like at times where it's so open on that left-hand side, that's where he needs to have some intelligence himself to go, oh, okay, I should probably do some defensive work.
00:25:19
Charley
Do you reckon then it sir it's a tactical thing then potentially that when you've got, because like said, I think that opinion of a return is probably quite renowned over that.
00:25:30
Charley
So then should it be the responsibility of like Belieber to be filling in that?
00:25:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:25:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, yeah. Well, I think that's where O'Reilly was a bit late.
00:25:36
Charley
Because yeah.
00:25:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
like I think it was O'Reilly's job then, but and I think it is his job, to then cover that space.
00:25:38
Charley
Yeah.
00:25:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
But O'Reilly was on the other side of the pitch because he was expecting a ball from Hinsherwood, who was the one that took the bad touch, for them to then break. And then Belieber was also then having to track back Eze.
00:26:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, like, the whole midfield was vacated on that side. That Eze, which is intelligence from him, really, to have the awareness to then play it to the opposite flank where the space was.
00:26:13
Charley
Yeah.
00:26:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then, yeah, just kind of no one reacted. So, I feel like, yeah, it should have been...
00:26:16
Charley
Hmm.
00:26:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
It is O'Reilly's job. And I think that is the thinking. It's like, O'Reilly, your defensive work. That's why he was the one that was there late. But sometimes it takes...
00:26:26
Charley
You're
00:26:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
he shouldn't like, Mittoma needs to notice or yeah anyone needs to notice really that O'Reilly's on the other side of the pitch. It's going to take him a while to get on to Munaz or whoever that yeah maybe I need to do.
00:26:40
Charley
you're going to have to run. You're going to have to do it this time.
00:26:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
00:26:43
Charley
Yeah, no.
00:26:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:26:45
Charley
I think that's... It'd be interesting. I think going forward would be interesting. I think that's going to... I think where we bolster that... i thought we we don't I mean, whether it like someone like a dingo would have done it, and I don't think he probably would have done.
00:26:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, no.
00:26:59
Charley
ah i think i see that is a it's a real problem for us when we lose the ball and, the like you said, the players all won half of the pitch and the teams can catalise that.
00:27:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:27:09
Charley
It just takes one ball over the top like it was.
00:27:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:27:12
Charley
Eze's got all that space to run. Plan is what he's going to do. And we're then, like say I say, poop so open and we can't do anything about it.
00:27:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
So open.
00:27:22
Charley
And we give away goal, a cheap goal. Yeah.
00:27:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and that goal did prove costly. That was the the nail in the coffin, ultimately. And after this ad break, we'll talk about the late drama that unfolded.
00:27:48
Charley
Thank you.
00:28:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
And we are back with the Daily Brighton podcast. Let's just get this off our chests, Charlie.

Palace's Aggressive Play: Gahey and Van Hecker

00:28:28
Charley
yeah
00:28:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Palace, the dirty, cheating scum. Absolute dirty, cheating scum. That's right, I'm calling him out. Gahey, aggressive all game.
00:28:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Fouling left, right and centre. I mean, e he tried. Well, he did. He studded Gruder, the poor bloke. Poor Gruder got studded straight in the stomach.
00:28:49
Charley
Yeah.
00:28:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Van Hecker, his first yellow card, was um basically Gehi then attacking him, like being really strong in a challenge. And yeah, just dirty from Gehi. Didn't expect that from a man, you know?
00:29:05
Charley
Yeah.
00:29:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
From that kind of guy. England's captain. Is he captain? No, he's not.
00:29:08
Charley
those
00:29:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Gary Gaines' captain.
00:29:10
Charley
i was gay
00:29:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
England's new centre-back, whatever he might be.
00:29:15
Charley
He's got like, what, 10 caps?
00:29:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, three caps. yeah
00:29:19
Charley
Yeah,
00:29:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's looking to be capped.
00:29:22
Charley
he's got off. Well, yeah, he was, as I say, again, I'm not a neutral.
00:29:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:29:28
Charley
I'm going to not be a neutral. i need to stop being a neutral because I don't like patterns. That's true. I'm both i not neutral. I don't like them. But yeah, it was just uncool for, yeah it's one of those, it's a rivalry and it's kind of, I think that the passion got to him.
00:29:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:29:43
Charley
His was... that They were yellow cards. You can't argue with it, to be honest.
00:29:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, simple.
00:29:47
Charley
Like, that was simple. It was just stupid, particularly when they were... At that point when he went off, they were down to 10 men or anyway.
00:29:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, yeah, the studded Togruta was the most ah rash one.
00:29:55
Charley
It was just...
00:30:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like, that was mental.
00:30:00
Charley
It wasn't needed.
00:30:01
Charley
just wasn't needed.
00:30:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's so unneeded.
00:30:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:30:03
Charley
But, like, Gruden, I don't know, I've seen, I try to think how much control Gruden had on the ball.
00:30:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:30:07
Charley
I don't really, like, it was mid of the pitch.
00:30:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
It was in the air.
00:30:10
Charley
It was in the air.
00:30:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:30:11
Charley
It didn't have anything. So it was just like, i don't I don't, I think that one was, um it was, I don't think he meant to, but still, it was just stupid. It was just reckless.
00:30:21
Charley
Um...
00:30:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
and No, no, no, no.
00:30:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
he He meant to. He did a Seamus Brogue kick, ah if anyone's a WWE fan, straight into the stomach to go, you know what? That's it.
00:30:31
Charley
ah Yeah, but I mean, cover ski up yeah, it was yeah definitely, um ah cut there's no arguments for those two, the yellow cards.
00:30:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. ah The question is, um and this is a question on Match of the Day, Nketiah, I definitely think it was a dive.
00:30:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
And that could be from a bias perspective. Who knows? Don't want to call me bias or anything, but definitely a dive.
00:30:54
Charley
yeah
00:30:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Esther Pinian has his foot planted ah when Nketiah makes contact. And he even has his arms up before the contact's made. So that's when you know he's being honest. He's not looking to make contact, you know.
00:31:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
But... Those men on match of the day, classic. They are always with the attacker and always with the English guy as well.
00:31:13
Charley
like
00:31:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
um English bias here from Alan Shearer. But clearly said it should have been a pen. On what planet, Alan Shearer? Can you see any sense in what Alan Shearer was saying, Charlie?
00:31:32
Charley
only thing there was contact there was that is the only part and I but he's carried on running he's gone down like to be honest the contact or not I mean if it's not a it's not a brick wall like he should be able to like keep on his feet if he keeps on his feet he's probably got a chance to go
00:31:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:31:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
No. yeah
00:31:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:31:57
Charley
So i don't, it there was no need for it.
00:31:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
I don't know why he died, really.
00:32:00
Charley
It literally just come on. I think he was, yeah, it wasn't a pen. that yeah
00:32:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
It was very dramatic the way he dived as well. I think that's what gives it away and that's what made the ref think it was also a dive because they never really called dives but he died he took a step and then dived.
00:32:13
Charley
and
00:32:16
Charley
But also, i think it was, he didn't protest much.
00:32:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, yeah.
00:32:21
Charley
I didn't think... And I don't i think, yeah e i ah yeah, it was a bit of a dive. um i don't think it was a bit... When he was saying it was a bit harsh, yes, it was, but there need to be, like, you shouldn't be allowed to do that.
00:32:36
Charley
Like, you shouldn't be allowed to dive, so if you should get booked for it.
00:32:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Well, yeah. Let's get out the game.
00:32:40
Charley
Get out of the game and there needs to be punished for it, and he could get a bit more punished later on, which is...
00:32:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Exactly.
00:32:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. yeah Well, then he tried committing... us He was so angry with the dive and getting booked for the dive that he tried committing assault on Van Hecker. Tried studying him in the face.
00:32:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah know well And then he got his second yellow. Have that, Enketiah.
00:33:01
Charley
what What is it in Sewellhurst Park and studs to the face?
00:33:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:33:08
Charley
There's a lot of studs up at Sewellhurst Park. It
00:33:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
They've taken their anger out on who was it? Preston. No.
00:33:14
Charley
was Millwall.
00:33:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, it was the Millwall. Yeah, that was it. And they've taken out on us. Sorry, old Brighton. Poor us.
00:33:22
Charley
Yeah, again, it don't...
00:33:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Poor Van Heckden. Yeah.
00:33:24
Charley
No, I mean, don't know why his head was that low anyway, because of what he tried to do. I don't know what he was trying to do, but yeah, it was again, that was yellow, hands down.
00:33:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, easy yellow, yeah.
00:33:34
Charley
His boot was high, easy-nob yellow, to be honest.
00:33:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now, I should probably say, yeah we also had a sending off, and I think both challenges, fair enough, they were yellows as

Brighton's Offensive Struggles Against Palace's Defense

00:33:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
well. um the what The first one was just and breaking down play, a quick counter-attack, and Vanheck just kind of pulled someone back.
00:33:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
You see them given, so that's fair enough as a yellow. The second one, Also a yellow. But my problem isn't with Van Hecker. It's that man, Watt's with her again. Our absolutely stinking signing of the year.
00:34:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
What is the chess pass he's doing? What is that? He's absolutely thrown Van Hecker under the bus by doing that little crappy chess pass.
00:34:19
Charley
There was no need for it. was no need
00:34:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
So stupid.
00:34:23
Charley
it was not. And I think that why it was also, this is twice now that you can get an advantage with a player down. or like the The other team's lost a player and you think, right, we've got a chance here.
00:34:37
Charley
we've We've lost two. They've lost two. Brilliant. It's fine.
00:34:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:34:39
Charley
We've got 11. But do you know what? We're a fair team. Let's also lose one. It happened at Newcastle where Lamptey gets sent off after Gordon got sent off.
00:34:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:34:50
Charley
I'm like, why do we need to do it?
00:34:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:34:52
Charley
um But we've yeah we should just put... It was a poor, poor pass. And I don't... Yeah, I can't really, there's nothing you can justify. And I think there was frustration in Van Hecker at that point as well.
00:35:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. well
00:35:05
Charley
the the The momentum he went, the way he put his foot went down, you could see like, that was kind of a F you to UEFA because what have you just given me?
00:35:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah Yeah, exactly.
00:35:17
Charley
And it's like, and there was no protestant, he knew.
00:35:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:35:22
Charley
it was like,
00:35:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, yeah. he Well, I'm actually i'm really glad with how he reacted in terms of like he ran straight off knowing that we needed a goal. And like he didn't even wait for the yellow card to be given. He was like, yeah, that's the yellow card.
00:35:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Run down the tunnel. And then hopefully we can get the game up and run in. We're still a man up.
00:35:40
Charley
Thank you.
00:35:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Unfortunately, for the remaining 12 minutes or however long, we didn't produce anything other than those like snapshots that were blocked. that will block i um that i mentioned earlier and then like as you said a Yari shot right at the end but that was based how we didn't score against 9 men for 12 minutes it's criminal quite frankly
00:36:06
Charley
The thing I've noticed is a confidence. i don't We don't have... do like like You look at where Munoz just like driving, having the confidence to have a shot about just outside the box.
00:36:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:36:18
Charley
We just don't have that. ah i think I think there is a confidence thing going on like with Laikiyari. I mentioned before the ah for the podcast, I feel for him. He's getting so close to goals.
00:36:32
Charley
i don' he like He's obviously hit the post the other day.
00:36:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:36:36
Charley
like And obviously today it was a great save and it was a it's just it's not falling for him. And I think it's a confidence that we'll just not do it. And we can't beat this low block. We just can't.
00:36:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, that's my thing.
00:36:45
Charley
ah We just can't seem to do it.
00:36:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:36:47
Charley
We
00:36:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, we suck against like scoring against a team that defends low and throws men in front of the ball. That's ah my thing with it. It's constant now. like where It really is something that I guess Hertha needs to figure out for next season um and find a way to kind of break it.
00:37:02
Charley
just.
00:37:09
Charley
I guess it's having like the thing, I mean, Belieber had a shot in the visit at the first half.
00:37:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:37:13
Charley
Like more of that. Like I would rather, I mean, it was directly at Dean Henderson.
00:37:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah.
00:37:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
Because, I mean, that well, the rebound ended up right at Danny Welbeck's path, and he could have so easily finished that on another day.
00:37:18
Charley
So
00:37:22
Charley
yeah yeah. And that's what I think we need to see more of. um I'd like to see that more from O'Reilly.
00:37:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:37:29
Charley
um I know spoke about him earlier on this podcast.
00:37:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:37:31
Charley
I thought i i'll give him again a shout i thought he did. For a guy who has not really played much the last couple of months, Probably should have come on, ah arguably, in maybe the Forest game.
00:37:44
Charley
um But I thought he did start really well. and But I'd like to see bit more of him like actually going at goal, having a couple of got chances.
00:37:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:37:55
Charley
Because I think that's what we can't... We're too slow. when There's a low block. We're too slow with it. They get bodies behind the ball and we just can't do anything about it. I'd rather us take a shot, go for a corner,
00:38:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
and yeah
00:38:08
Charley
ah just some I think I'll get deflections and stuff like that like and have the confidence to do that. And I just don't think we do. um And it just, yeah, we we're not you're not taking those opportunities. luck Like, and we should have least pulled one back there.
00:38:21
Charley
It should have been a draw at the end of the day.
00:38:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. It should we should have at least got a point.
00:38:23
Charley
ah um And I know we're just, I think, e be going forward with obviously Van Hecht going, well, not going, ah being suspended for a game is going to be a big loss.
00:38:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, definitely.
00:38:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:38:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
hu And yeah, I mean, well, we spoke off air, didn't we? ah It's going to probably be next week, Dunk and Aaron Cashin. We've heard our thoughts on Dunk earlier in the podcast and we've got to bring up, we didn't get a chance to podcast on the Aston Villa game, but we've got to bring up Aaron Cashin, his debut against Aston Villa and Good God, it was not a good one.
00:38:59
Charley
no but but
00:39:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Poor bloke. He was responsible.
00:39:02
Charley
you
00:39:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, i don't know what he's doing for Villa's second. He's flown in to the to where to like their sideline and just absolutely misjudged the ball.
00:39:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's in behind and then they're through. And then the second one... He is nowhere near tight enough. And to Dono Marlon. And then just lets the ball go under his legs. So yeah, next week's prospect. The only positive of it being a dunk cash in back line or set about partnership for next week is that it's against Leicester.
00:39:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
And they suck. So that's the only hope.
00:39:38
Charley
You know what's that? Jamie Vardy's going school.
00:39:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, the pacing behind.
00:39:42
Charley
Do you know what?
00:39:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
peasy.
00:39:43
Charley
Do you know what? Call it now. This time next week, I feel like I'm going saying, I told you.
00:39:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:39:50
Charley
Like, and that but I just, yeah. i think I'd be really, I think looking, that's good's if that's what we've got, really. But I'd be really, I think, how Hurts, this is going be a real test, how we...
00:39:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:40:04
Charley
how he adapts now to losing, arguably, well, not arguably, his best defender for a game.
00:40:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:40:12
Charley
I know we've done without Van Heek before, but we didn't have, we had the likes of obviously Igor Webster.
00:40:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:40:20
Charley
um
00:40:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
And now it's like fourth and fifth choice.
00:40:21
Charley
Yeah. Yeah. I think I'd be very interesting how the setup will be. um ah think it needs to be a little bit of so i want to say maybe three at the back.
00:40:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:40:34
Charley
and more emphasis on the midfield ah to support the defense a little bit more because I think we're going to, it's Leicester don't have anything. that they They're going down.
00:40:44
Charley
Let's be honest, they are.
00:40:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:40:46
Charley
But at the same time, we need to get our confidence back. We've got some big games now. it's for Well, Leicester's a must win.
00:40:54
Charley
um ah va If we like least lose the next two, i can't remember got off the Leicester. think we've got Brentford, actually. think Brentford.
00:40:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, 100%.
00:41:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Potentially.
00:41:05
Charley
so So two, we need to, with those games are big games to win if we wanted to get European football.
00:41:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:41:12
Charley
um Cashing could prove us wrong.
00:41:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, we'll wait and see.
00:41:18
Charley
We'll wait and see, but yeah, it's going to be it's gonna be a tough one.
00:41:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Fingers crossed.
00:41:23
Charley
I'm dreading it a little bit.
00:41:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:41:26
Charley
I'm like,
00:41:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
have some

Looking Ahead to Leicester: Can Brighton Recover?

00:41:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
optimism. ah We will be reviewing the Leicester game later on this week, so we'll give our thoughts on how we think that'll play out and how we think Cashin will do. but yeah, that has been the podcast, reviewing Crystal Palace 2, Brighton 1.
00:41:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's a sad day for all of us, and we hope you don't get abuse from any Palace fans that you do know. And if you haven't already got abuse, then Lucky you. But on that note, what a sad, tragic weekend we've had.
00:41:59
Charley
did
00:42:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
But long live the Seagulls and we will bounce back.
00:42:02
Charley
ah
00:42:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
See you later, guys.
00:42:07
Charley
yeah
00:42:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
Peace out.
