Introduction and Market Segmentation

00:00:00
Speaker
My Blazer's back.
00:00:01
Speaker
I've got my notes.
00:00:02
Speaker
This is this month's Pinball Market.
00:00:04
Speaker
All righty.
00:00:11
Speaker
So...
00:00:16
Speaker
I didn't realize how segmented the pinball market is when it comes to the used market.
00:00:22
Speaker
I'm trying to do my own analytics of the used market, and I decided it's best to segment this because there's just so much information.

Community and Sponsor Shoutouts

00:00:32
Speaker
I want to give a shout out to Pinball Prices.
00:00:35
Speaker
They did a great job.
00:00:37
Speaker
I want to give a shout out to Pinside.
00:00:38
Speaker
I also want to give a shout out to our sponsor, Flippin' Out Pinball, Zach and Nicole Many.
00:00:42
Speaker
We've got new games on the horizon.
00:00:44
Speaker
Dungeons and Dragons was just announced.
00:00:46
Speaker
So if you're looking for that game, hit up Zach and Nicole Many.
00:00:49
Speaker
They'll give you the best deal.
00:00:50
Speaker
Also, Silver Ball Swag.
00:00:52
Speaker
Like the shirt that I'm wearing?
00:00:53
Speaker
The Goat, Keith Elwin.
00:00:54
Speaker
Check it out.
00:00:55
Speaker
SilverbrowSwag.com slash Loserkid.
00:00:57
Speaker
We've got plenty of products there, and new swag is on the way.
00:00:59
Speaker
All right, let's just jump into some of the facts that's going on right now as we speak.

Impact of Game Vaulting on Market Value

00:01:03
Speaker
CERN just announced their new vault program.
00:01:05
Speaker
No, that means they're not going to be doing the old vaults that they brought back.
00:01:08
Speaker
That means they're taking games and putting them in a vault, so that way we can't...
00:01:12
Speaker
they were not going to be making them anymore at this point for at least two years.
00:01:16
Speaker
What this means to you in the used market is these games they announced are more than likely going to go up in value over, over the market over time.
00:01:24
Speaker
These are amazing games like Iron Maiden, Elvira, Star Wars.
00:01:29
Speaker
And after I get to some of these numbers, you're going to be a little baffled.
00:01:31
Speaker
Like, why are they doing this?
00:01:32
Speaker
But,
00:01:33
Speaker
Stern.
00:01:34
Speaker
It might be a brilliant move.
00:01:35
Speaker
It may not.
00:01:36
Speaker
We'll see what happens.
00:01:37
Speaker
So I want to go on record

Current Buyer’s Market Overview

00:01:39
Speaker
with that.
00:01:39
Speaker
Roughly there are 70 games being added to pin side or other markets daily.
00:01:45
Speaker
So there's, it's still a buyer's market.
00:01:47
Speaker
We're seeing plenty of great deals pop up right now.
00:01:50
Speaker
Like I said,
00:01:51
Speaker
the market's very segmented at this point.
00:01:53
Speaker
It's, it's, it's kind of weird.
00:01:54
Speaker
Let's, let's talk

Value Depreciation in Stern Spike Two Games

00:01:56
Speaker
spike two.
00:01:56
Speaker
Okay.
00:01:57
Speaker
Stern spike two.
00:01:58
Speaker
I've got the numbers right here going over for, so from the end of 2023 to the end of 2024, overall percentage wise, Stern spike twos are down 9.8%.
00:02:10
Speaker
And it's showing as,
00:02:15
Speaker
Early as a game release, they dip in value.
00:02:17
Speaker
So if you want to get the most bang for your buck, it seems like getting these early games, but used.
00:02:22
Speaker
So, you know, your John Wicks, your Venoms, that stuff right now, those are seeing the biggest dip right now.
00:02:27
Speaker
But as time goes on, as they stop producing these games, those numbers tend to go up over time.
00:02:33
Speaker
And what I say by that is like looking at like Deadpool.
00:02:36
Speaker
I know that Deadpool is one of the games that just announced that they're not going to be making anymore.
00:02:41
Speaker
But if you bought a Deadpool L.E.,
00:02:45
Speaker
At launch, it is up 40% from when it launched.
00:02:49
Speaker
That's right.
00:02:49
Speaker
They're selling around 12.5 right now.
00:02:52
Speaker
You've got to kind of look at his investment.
00:02:54
Speaker
Looking at these notes, it's pretty much read up until Rush Pro.
00:02:58
Speaker
Then once we start getting past that, like Stranger Things, we see a trend of up with a couple different anomalies.
00:03:04
Speaker
There's a couple games I'm going to point out.
00:03:06
Speaker
So the three that have done the worst over the span of five years.
00:03:12
Speaker
So I've done in the last five years because...
00:03:14
Speaker
When we get to Ballet Williams, I'm not going to compare to games that were released back in 92 because inflation rate was entirely different.
00:03:22
Speaker
They sold at a different rate.
00:03:24
Speaker
And so it's hard to look at that.
00:03:26
Speaker
So I'm going for pre-COVID, which was the end of 2019, to now.

Analysis of Underperforming Games

00:03:30
Speaker
I think that gives us a good idea because the pinball market was still on an up trajectory.
00:03:34
Speaker
for the previous decade of that.
00:03:36
Speaker
So honestly, the worst, the worst game right now, the game you don't want to own is bond 60th.
00:03:43
Speaker
Grant, this game was sold at 20 K when it first came out.
00:03:47
Speaker
And it was one of those kind of like subject to what the dealer wants to do.
00:03:51
Speaker
Right.
00:03:52
Speaker
Right now over the last year is dropped 20% of its value.
00:03:55
Speaker
And the,
00:03:59
Speaker
in the whole scheme of things when, since it's released, because it's been less than five years, we're down 35%.
00:04:03
Speaker
This is a game that it's only trending down.
00:04:09
Speaker
So I don't know if you want to touch it.
00:04:11
Speaker
And then the, the next one that is trending down as well is bond L E, which is kind of a,
00:04:20
Speaker
I don't know if it's the game.
00:04:21
Speaker
People are loving this game.
00:04:22
Speaker
The code came out.
00:04:23
Speaker
It's doing great, right?
00:04:24
Speaker
So Bond LE over the past year has dropped 15% in the grand scheme of things.
00:04:30
Speaker
It is down 28% since its release.
00:04:33
Speaker
And the last one, this one kind of threw me for a loop.
00:04:38
Speaker
Elvira 40th.
00:04:40
Speaker
This game originally released at about 25K over last year, 32% down.
00:04:47
Speaker
And overall, 35% down.
00:04:49
Speaker
All right.
00:04:50
Speaker
You know, I know you want to know the numbers of the games that you want to buy, the ones that are seeing upgrowth, right?

Games with Increasing Value

00:04:56
Speaker
So as I'm going through this, this is going to kind of shock you.
00:05:00
Speaker
So my third best right now.
00:05:03
Speaker
Munsters LE.
00:05:04
Speaker
If you bought this game when it first came out at $8,000, granted, you know, that's $5,000 less than what they are now.
00:05:12
Speaker
If you bought this at $8,000, you today would be sitting around $11,600.
00:05:18
Speaker
That means it's up 29% from when it released.
00:05:21
Speaker
It still is down 19% from last year, but you're still up if you're at that point.
00:05:29
Speaker
looking at games that are still going up in value, Beatles Gold over the life, just this last year, it's went up 3%.
00:05:36
Speaker
It is down 15% from when it originally released.
00:05:39
Speaker
So what that tells me is we're still seeing growth in this pinball machine.
00:05:44
Speaker
It may be down from when you originally bought it.
00:05:46
Speaker
So if you bought this out the gate, you might be in a little trouble.
00:05:48
Speaker
But if you bought it in the last year, you're still good.
00:05:50
Speaker
You're probably not going to lose value.
00:05:51
Speaker
You're probably going to trade straight across your value on that one, right?
00:05:54
Speaker
This is one of the games they just announced.
00:05:56
Speaker
Star Wars Comic Pro.
00:05:58
Speaker
it's up 10% from last year and it's still flat across from when it released.
00:06:04
Speaker
So that means we're still seeing growth in this one.
00:06:06
Speaker
You're still good to go on that one.

Aerosmith Premium's ROI Surge

00:06:08
Speaker
The one that really shocked me, this game, if you own it right now, it might be time to sell because overall the market's trending down, right?
00:06:16
Speaker
We're seeing that over this past year, as I look at it, we're down 10% on spikes.
00:06:22
Speaker
On JJP, we're down 10%.
00:06:25
Speaker
And Valley Williams aren't as bad.
00:06:28
Speaker
They look like they're down about 3%.
00:06:29
Speaker
I have to adjust some of those numbers.
00:06:33
Speaker
Guys, I've been trying to adjust these numbers and go through them.
00:06:36
Speaker
There's a lot to digest here.
00:06:39
Speaker
I won't even have market deals this time because there's just a wealth of information I've been digging into.
00:06:46
Speaker
But let's get back to the spike twos.
00:06:47
Speaker
The game that shocks me, Aerosmith Premium.
00:06:51
Speaker
Aerosmith Premium.
00:06:53
Speaker
It is up 15% from last year.
00:06:57
Speaker
So it is now, people are selling this around 12K.
00:07:00
Speaker
It's up 15%.
00:07:01
Speaker
And if you bought this one originally came out at $6,500, imagine this, a premium for $6,500, you would be up 52% of your investment.
00:07:09
Speaker
So Aerosmith premium, Aerosmiths aren't bad as they seem to be retaining their value.
00:07:14
Speaker
So when the media day happened last May,
00:07:18
Speaker
And we were speculating, well, there's Erosmith side cabinet arts and stuff on the ground.
00:07:23
Speaker
I mean, Stern knows what they're doing.
00:07:25
Speaker
They're trying to see what's going on with the market.
00:07:27
Speaker
So, okay, those are your six games.
00:07:31
Speaker
So three bad, three good.
00:07:32
Speaker
For Spike 2, like I said, I'm just, we're gonna be going over the numbers over these next months.
00:07:40
Speaker
I'm gonna try to focus on per

Jersey Jack's Market Influence

00:07:42
Speaker
category.
00:07:42
Speaker
So this month I wanna do Spike 2 by Stern.
00:07:45
Speaker
especially with the release of Drensions and Dragons on the horizon.
00:07:49
Speaker
I just think it gives us a good indicator where the modern market is going, but it gives us an idea.
00:07:55
Speaker
Stern has such a long history, right?
00:07:57
Speaker
We're 25 years at this point.
00:07:59
Speaker
So they give us a good idea of what's happened with the market over the last 25 years and where the market is going.
00:08:04
Speaker
I do want to give this a, this little tidbit because I did Jersey Jack numbers and overall they're up 10% in value.
00:08:15
Speaker
if you leave Pirates of the Caribbean in those numbers.
00:08:18
Speaker
But if you take Pirates of the Caribbean out, it drops to negative 13% on your investment.
00:08:25
Speaker
So some of these games, some of these numbers have very big anomalies.
00:08:30
Speaker
And it's amazing that Pirates of the Caribbean can give it a 23 point swing.
00:08:34
Speaker
That is insane.
00:08:35
Speaker
So again, I wanna thank you all for

Conclusion and Audience Engagement

00:08:38
Speaker
tuning in.
00:08:38
Speaker
This was a smash hit.
00:08:40
Speaker
I'm excited to see where these other numbers go.
00:08:42
Speaker
Hopefully that gets you going for the next month of where you want to buy.
00:08:46
Speaker
Looking at Spikes, Spike 2s, looking at JJPs.
00:08:49
Speaker
Man, that's not it.
00:08:50
Speaker
Honestly, Valley Williams are looking really great right now.
00:08:53
Speaker
And there is one.
00:08:54
Speaker
on that list that has absolutely shocked me.
00:08:57
Speaker
But that is for next time.
00:08:58

00:09:26
Speaker
Also, flipping out pinball.
00:09:27
Speaker
Get that Dungeons and Dragons.
00:09:29
Speaker
Is Harry Potter on the way?
00:09:31
Speaker
Don't know.
00:09:32
Speaker
Better hit up and get on that list.
00:09:34
Speaker
And for my final words, just remember, pinball is only worth what someone's willing to pay.
00:09:43
Speaker
Thank you.
