Hello and welcome back to UFO Focus. I'm your host, Isaiah. And that's right, I'm out walking again. I'm recording this while I'm out walking. This time fairly late at night.

Speaker
ah just put the baby to bed a little bit ago and wanted to stretch my legs and thought, what the heck, I'll give it a shot at recording a very short episode here.
00:00:25
Speaker
So I am going to get to some UFO stuff briefly. But first, I titled this episode Stargazing Volume 1 or whatever, because i i thought it'd be fun to offer little stargazing tip now and then, maybe.
00:00:43
Speaker
And, you know, i'm I'm saying this not facetiously. i am a stargazer. And to be sure, by now, when I'm out looking at the night sky, wherever I am, you better believe I'm looking for UFOs.
00:00:59
Speaker
But I also just enjoy looking at
Enjoying New Hampshire's Night Sky
00:01:02
Speaker
the night sky. And especially, oh and I should say, i'm I'm very lucky in that while I live in a city and lots of light pollution and whatnot, I get to spend a lot of time in New Hampshire in the White Mountains, where there's much less light pollution.
00:01:17
Speaker
Still light pollution, but much less. And um I get to enjoy just some beautiful night skies up there. So anyway, actually, but this happened in the city. I was watching the other night.
00:01:32
Speaker
i was just kind of gazing at the night sky and I saw ah satellite. Now, actually, heres here's two things in one. This might be obvious, but I don't think it's obvious to everybody. A lot of people and there's you know no shame here.
00:01:47
Speaker
ah just are not familiar with kind of things in the night sky, right? um So satellites. Satellites are pretty easy to determine as satellites because satellites are ah pretty much always star-like dots.
00:02:10
Speaker
So a bright dot, like a star. um that are moving and that are moving in what looks to us like a straight line.
00:02:24
Speaker
Of course, it's really and ellipse, but close enough for our purposes.
Understanding Satellites vs. UFOs
00:02:30
Speaker
So if you're staring at the stars and you see a little dot that's moving across the night sky and it continues in a line an ellipse, that's a satellite.
00:02:42
Speaker
um it But something I had noticed was that I would see satellites or apparent satellites that would disappear.
00:02:53
Speaker
And so, and you I just kept meaning to kind of look up like, oh, is that a thing? And so, anyway, guess what? I looked it up and guess what? Yes, it's a thing.
00:03:05
Speaker
It's so what's happening is the satellite is, you know, you're seeing the satellite because the sun is reflecting off it. And then as it moves in its ellipse, at some point it crosses the Earth's shadow.
00:03:20
Speaker
And so it's but it seems, while you're watching it sometimes, to just kind of disappear. so anyway, it's just good to know. especially good to know if you're trying to make sure something isn't a UFO, right?
00:03:33
Speaker
So if you see something that looks like a satellite, but then it disappears, yeah, that's probably still a satellite. And that is... my stargazing tip for the night.
00:03:47
Speaker
Okay.
Preview of USS Nimitz UFO Encounter Episode
00:03:48
Speaker
In terms of UFO stuff, um, I'll just say that I'm working on the next episode, possibly the next bunch of episodes, um, which, uh, will be about the, uh,
00:04:02
Speaker
the the The case of the USS Nimitz, N-I-M-I-T-Z, as well as the USS Princeton, like the college. um This is the 2004 event in which ah Commander David Fravor, who testified before Congress about this under oath, encountered an object he described as a tic-tac.
00:04:27
Speaker
video of this tic-tac that was taken by another officer involved in this because there's a lot of people involved in this encounter. um Some of that video became part of the videos that were put out by the New York Times in 2017. Is that right? 2017? Yeah, I think um twenty seventeen yeah i think so um And case,
00:04:52
Speaker
it is you know if i had to hang my hat on one kate And why would I do that? It's much smarter if you're going hang your hat on like the hundreds or thousands of well-documented cases over the last 80 years.
00:05:10
Speaker
But, you know, that being said, just for for fun here, if I had to hang my hat on one case that really keeps me intrigued by the UFO mystery, and quite frankly, that...
00:05:22
Speaker
um
00:05:25
Speaker
that continues to convince me, unless proven otherwise, that the extraterrestrial hypothesis should not be dismissed. Because that's what I... That's my belief, is that it is a valid hypothesis until shown otherwise.
00:05:42
Speaker
ah Not just because, oh, you have to prove it otherwise, but because there's actually evidence for it. There's lots of evidence for it. Not proof, but evidence. um The Nimitz is it.
00:05:53
Speaker
I mean... And, you know, a few half-assed halfassed so-called skeptics, debunkers, whatever, have, you know, tried to throw darts at this thing. i And they've completely failed.
00:06:14
Speaker
The incident remains unexplained by the government. um It's documented by testimony of... Gosh, I don't even know how many witnesses and ah dozen maybe who have spoken publicly. i mean, it's a lot.
00:06:31
Speaker
um As well as radars and video and it's an extremely compelling case. And there's new information.
00:06:42
Speaker
And spoiler alert, the new information, like everything else, does not, you know, does not... refute the ET hypothesis, which in my opinion remains a perfectly valid hypothesis to keep open ah from what we know of that incident.
00:07:03
Speaker
So anyway, that's my teaser for the next episode, return to the Nimitz.
