Speaker: What do you call an underground group of solar professionals on a mission to create a more sustainable world?
Speaker: We call ourselves solopreneurs.
Speaker: And while some might call us crazy, foolish, and dissatisfied with the status quo, we're the ones taking action to create a better future for ourselves and the world.
Speaker: Solopreneur is dedicated to give you, the solar professional, the tools, skills, technology, and mentorship to take the industry by storm and sell more solar with less effort.
Speaker: We are solopreneurs and this is our story.
Speaker: So you want to know the number one characteristic all high performers, whether they're in solar or not, have it is they fall in love with the game.
Speaker: They don't focus on the end result.
Speaker: They focus on the journey and the game to get there.
Speaker: And I know that sounds like a bunch of motivational meme
Speaker: crap that you see on Instagram, but it is true.
Speaker: If you focus on the money, 100 grand, right?
Speaker: If you focus just, all right, how can I make six figures?
Speaker: How can I make this money?
Speaker: Right?
Speaker: I can tell you it's going to be way more difficult, almost impossible for you to get that 100 grand.
Speaker: People who chase money can find it, but often they don't.
Speaker: And it often is repellent, right?
Speaker: Neediness is gonna eradicate this, right?
Speaker: You cannot be needy.
Speaker: You can't be focused on the money and just trying to pay your bills real quick.
Speaker: Yeah, that's important,
Speaker: The quickest way to get that money to attract it to be a money magnet a value magnet is to focus on the game the way that you get there the value the bigger picture So stop focusing on the money start focusing on the craft the day-to-day activities mastering your habits your sales skills mastering the relationships that you build with people mastering prospecting and filling up your pipeline staying busy becoming the higher version of yourself that you know you're capable of becoming
Speaker: These are the things that if you focus on, the money is just going to come naturally.
Speaker: Look at top producers like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods.
Speaker: If these guys just focused on winning that one game, that one match that they play a year, that one game, getting that ring like Michael Jordan, that opportunity only comes once.
Speaker: once a year, twice a year a game, right?
Speaker: If they just focused on that, they'd be nowhere.
Speaker: They focus and they fall in love with the day-to-day practice, the monotonous grind, okay?
Speaker: If you could figure out how to tap into that resource to where you love knocking on doors, you love going to networking events, you love training, you love sacrificing working on the weekends,
Speaker: That is your sweet spot.
Speaker: This is what the top 1% do.
Speaker: Because I get asked all the time, James, how do you have that drive to work like you do?
Speaker: I work 12, 14, 16 hours a day sometimes.
Speaker: And I've been doing it for years.
Speaker: How do you do that?
Speaker: Yeah, I'm a young guy, right?
Speaker: I try to keep my body in shape, but that's not the reason.
Speaker: The reason is I love what I do.
Speaker: This doesn't feel like work.
Speaker: Teaching you guys, running my company at Lumen, training other reps, going out and selling myself.
Speaker: I love these things.
Speaker: I would not choose one activity in the world to do other than these things.
Speaker: And I know that sounds like a cliche, like I'm full of it, but it's true.
Speaker: You can fall in love with the work with this.
Speaker: Yes, you may not love it right now.
Speaker: You may not love door knocking, but you can learn to love that work.
Speaker: Okay?
Speaker: Nobody loves knocking doors their first day, right?
Speaker: That sucks.
Speaker: Nobody loves doing anything their first day.
Speaker: It's always going to be difficult, especially if it's worth doing.
Speaker: But the more you do this, the more you put your head down, eliminate and focus, you could fall in love with that activity.
Speaker: So focus on the game, focus on the purpose, ignore the financial outcome, and that's your quickest way to success.
