Speaker: What do you call an underground group of solar professionals on a mission to create a more sustainable world?
Speaker: We call ourselves solopreneurs.
Speaker: And while some might call us crazy, foolish, and dissatisfied with the status quo, we're the ones taking action to create a better future for ourselves and the world.
Speaker: Solopreneur is dedicated to give you, the solar professional, the tools, skills, technology, and mentorship to take the industry by storm and sell more solar with less effort.
Speaker: We are solopreneurs and this is our story.
Speaker: The number one thing that both you and me have in common and any other top performer, anyone on this planet, is we all got the same amount of time.
Speaker: And the top producer and the difference between the nine to five mindset, the six-figure solar entrepreneur, is they value their time unlike anyone else.
Speaker: Remember when I said look at what 90% of people are doing and do the opposite?
Speaker: Valuing time is something that 90% of people don't do.
Speaker: The top people, top high-performance human beings value this time more than anything.
Speaker: It's the most valuable resource that you have.
Speaker: I have some absolutely game-changing activities and strategies for you to maximize your time as a solar pro.
Speaker: Because when it comes down to it, the nine-to-five solar person or rep, right, somebody who has a job,
Speaker: They are going to get paid by the hour for their time.
Speaker: For you, as a sole entrepreneur, you get paid with a result, a result that you bring, regardless of the time.
Speaker: Time is not a variable in the equation, meaning you could close the deal in five minutes, do it.
Speaker: You get paid the same as a guy who spent five hours doing so, right?
Speaker: Think about time as money leaving your pocket continually.
Speaker: Imagine you had a hole in a bag of money and it's just pouring out continually.
Speaker: That's how your time is.
Speaker: Your time's just going, right?
Speaker: You've got to decide where do I want to pour that time?
Speaker: Where's going to be the most effective place to put this time that's going to give me the best ROI, return of my time investment, right?
Speaker: This is how I want you to be thinking.
Speaker: Be obsessed with time.
Speaker: Be obsessed with people stealing your time and eliminating that.
Speaker: Get rid of that crap.
Speaker: You don't need to spend four hours at a presentation.
Speaker: You don't need to spend two hours driving to a bullshit appointment.
Speaker: Cut that crap out.
Speaker: You know your value of your time.
Speaker: You know that to be six figures, seven figures, you need to value that time above anything else.
Speaker: Cut the time suckers, cut the distractions and things in your life.
Speaker: Now, here are some of the best practices with top performers, what's allowed me to make six figures and seven figures by the age of 20.
Speaker: Cut notifications off your phone.
Speaker: Turn all of the damn notifications off your phone.
Speaker: If somebody calls on the phone, turn it off.
Speaker: My phone, if somebody calls it, I don't even know they called.
Speaker: I don't know they texted.
Speaker: I don't know if I got any sort of notification.
Speaker: I actually batch out my messages and notifications like we talked about.
Speaker: I schedule two times in the day to check my notifications.
Speaker: I check my email once per day.
Speaker: That's it.
Speaker: Not 10 times per day.
Speaker: One time, same time every day.
Speaker: That's it.
Speaker: People can wait.
Speaker: If it's an emergency, honestly, most people in my life, my inner circle, know that I'm not going to be a guy that is reliable for an emergency.
Speaker: Now, you may be in a different circumstance.
Speaker: You got a wife.
Speaker: You got kids.
Speaker: Let them know that when it's focus time, it's focus time.
Speaker: You could still be reachable if it's an emergency, but tell your wife, tell your kids, whoever it is, that only contact me if it's a true emergency.
Speaker: I'm trying to make a bigger impact and wealth for our family here.
Speaker: This is my job.
Speaker: I'm going to be able to do a better job at it if you can help me by not calling me into talking about the weather or something else, right?
Speaker: You've got to cut out all the bullshit.
Speaker: No notifications on Facebook, no text, no social media.
Speaker: Delete it off your phone, put the phone in a drawer, lock it away, and focus and grind.
Speaker: Unless you're calling on the phone, of course, right?
Speaker: So, cut notifications.
Speaker: Next is view time as a currency.
Speaker: Like I said, I talk about in the Solar Spartan system as well, the more advanced training on how to make seven figures that we have.
Speaker: Time is one of the three currencies.
Speaker: There's money, there's time, there's energy.
Speaker: We show you how to optimize those.
Speaker: But if you view time as a currency, you're going to treat it completely different.
Speaker: Meaning when somebody wants to call and chit-chat, view them as literally ripping $100 bills out of your pocket.
Speaker: They're stealing time from you that you're never going to get back.
Speaker: I can make money back.
Speaker: You can steal money from me, but I cannot make my time back.
Speaker: So I don't do long calls.
Speaker: I don't do long presentations.
Speaker: I don't chit chat.
Speaker: I don't talk about the weather or that bullshit.
Speaker: I focus.
Speaker: I get the job and the mission done.
Speaker: View time as currency.
Speaker: Cool hack for once you get the income rolling a little bit because it does get expensive on the money side, but the time side, the ROI is invaluable, is taking rideshare apps.
Speaker: Ubers, Lyfts, whatever you want to do, getting a personal driver even, right?
Speaker: If you could take an Uber or Lyft to an appointment, imagine the shit that you will get done in that time period.
Speaker: Me personally, I very rarely actually drive somewhere these days.
Speaker: I take an Uber and a Lyft to everything.
Speaker: An hour drive.
Speaker: I had an hour drive to something the other day and the Uber driver was like, why did you pay?
Speaker: It was like 90 bucks, right?
Speaker: To take that Uber to that destination.
Speaker: I ended up closing a deal on the back on LinkedIn, on Facebook, follow-up calls, taking sales calls in the back of an Uber.
Speaker: This is the stuff that high performers do.
Speaker: And they value that time so much more than that Uber ride, okay?
Speaker: So if you can, budget that out.
Speaker: And if you can't, figure out how you can get there because you get so much more done.
Speaker: The ROI I've gotten off of Uber rides and Lyft rides is invaluable.
Speaker: I've even sold solar to some of those drivers, okay?
Speaker: You'd never know what's going to happen.
Speaker: Next is pick up the pace.
Speaker: You notice that I talk pretty quick.
Speaker: You can tell I've got a lot of energy, right, when I'm on this?
Speaker: Yeah, I'm excited to teach you these things, but I'm also a faster-paced person.
Speaker: Yes, people will view you as crazy.
Speaker: ADHD, a psychotic, right?
Speaker: And I am ADHD, so it kind of goes with it.
Speaker: But pick up the pace.
Speaker: You notice successful people have a faster pace, a faster rhythm.
Speaker: They recognize that, whoa, I've got to get moving.
Speaker: Like this day is ticking.
Speaker: I got a lot to accomplish.
Speaker: Let's move.
Speaker: Let's move.
Speaker: They're not talking in meetings.
Speaker: They're not
Speaker: There's no water cooler chit chat after a sales meeting.
Speaker: There's none of that.
Speaker: It's, hey, let's go.
Speaker: Let's get the job done.
Speaker: Let's get the result, right?
Speaker: Sounds intense.
Speaker: That's what it takes to be a top producer again.
Speaker: Next is use the Pomodoro technique.
Speaker: I love this.
Speaker: If I'm doing follow-up calls, if I'm doing anything like that, it's you set a 25-minute timer.
Speaker: where you focus all in for 25 minutes and that timer is going.
Speaker: You could see that timer and you focus on one activity.
Speaker: So follow-up calls, it's how many follow-up calls can I make in 25 minutes?
Speaker: How many emails can I send?
Speaker: How many messages can I send?
Speaker: How many events can I plan?
Speaker: Can I plan my day in 25 minutes?
Speaker: Boom, you go all in, one task.
Speaker: That focus and that condensed time allows you to move mountains and go highly speedy, right, just blasting through this.
Speaker: Another one, a bonus one I'll give you, I learned from Ed Milet, is you plan your day into three days.
Speaker: Meaning you've got your entire day, you plan out your activities for the day, so you're going to wake up at 7 a.m., you're going to go hit the gym, you're going to get meditation, healthy breakfast, say hi to your kids, right?
Speaker: And then boom, you're going to get on LinkedIn or you're going to go to your networking event and you're going to network for the next two hours.
Speaker: You're going to follow up, send up follow-up emails, calls, texts, emails,
Speaker: phone calls, right?
Speaker: You're going to send out letters, gifts.
Speaker: You're going to follow up with those people.
Speaker: Then you're going to focus on your training in the afternoon.
Speaker: You're going to grab a quick 15-minute lunch.
Speaker: Then you're going to do this, right?
Speaker: You plan out your entire day and then you condense it.
Speaker: Condense it even further.
Speaker: Say you've got 30 minutes to call 10 people.
Speaker: See if you can do it in 15.
Speaker: See if you can do it in 12 minutes, right?
Speaker: See how you can condense it and make it shorter and shorter.
Speaker: And the way Ed talks about it is you actually plan your days into three days.
Speaker: He does 6 a.m.
Speaker: to 12.
Speaker: That's day one.
Speaker: 12 to 6, that's day two.
Speaker: And then 6 to midnight, that's day three.
Speaker: And if you view a day's worth of activities split into just a third of your day and you condense that time, boom, magical stuff happens.
Speaker: So that's another cool one to use.
Speaker: Hey, listeners, it's James Swiderski here.
Speaker: I promise we'll be right back to this fire content you're enjoying.
Speaker: But I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you about the number one training platform that I trust my own clients as well as my own solar team with.
Speaker: And it's called the Solar Spartan System.
Speaker: Now the Solar Spartan system is not your traditional course.
Speaker: It's a solar sales transformation experience that's combined over 11,000 hours of research on today's top sales and marketing professionals and condense their strategies into one streamlined system that practically forces you
Speaker: Yeah, that's right.
Speaker: Forces you to have success in reaching your goals.
Speaker: And the best part is, guys, it's designed specifically for solar.
Speaker: And it's been tested on over 800 solar professionals to date.
Speaker: Now, you might be saying, James, that's cool, but...
Speaker: How does it force me to have success?
Speaker: And this is where it gets pretty ninja, my friend.
Speaker: So listen up.
Speaker: So here's what makes the Solar Spartan system so effective.
Speaker: It's the combination of applying the minimum amount of inputs, minimum effective dose of what it takes to get you to that next level.
Speaker: Combining that with the power of social accountability and then top-notch strategies used by today's solar professionals, solopreneurs, right?
Speaker: So what does this mean for you?
Speaker: No more watching 15-hour courses.
Speaker: No more banging your head trying to figure out how to apply Grant Cardone's strategies over here and Dan Lok's strategies over here to solar specifically.
Speaker: And no more guesswork.
Speaker: The Solar Spartan system is 100% action oriented, meaning you won't be given more content to study than what you need to actually reach your next four deals, 10 deals, 16, 20 deals, whatever your goal is, there's a milestone for it within the system.
Speaker: And to give you guys an idea of what you can expect out of this, I've taken some of my lowest producing reps and clients from closing one to maybe struggling to get that third or fourth deal a month, all the way to closing 18 to 20 deals a month in less than 90 days.
Speaker: It's that good.
Speaker: That's why I want to go ahead and offer you guys, solopreneur listeners, a special discount on the Solar Spartan System.
Speaker: You guys head on over to solarspartansystem.com.
Speaker: You could try it out for 30 days.
Speaker: Again, guys, don't put your success on hold.
Speaker: This is something I would not promote on the podcast if I didn't fully believe in it.
Speaker: It's something I trust my clients, but as well, my own solar company, my own reps, they go through this exact same training.
Speaker: So again, head over to solarspartansystem.com to get started and my team and I will see you inside.
Speaker: Let's get back to the show.
Speaker: Set time limits.
Speaker: So it's big.
Speaker: Anytime I jump on a phone call with my business partner, Joseph, or I have a sales meeting, right?
Speaker: Or I have a sales presentation, I set a time limit with homeowners, with business partners, with anybody that calls me, with my mom, I set a time limit, okay?
Speaker: Anybody that's gonna take my time, you gotta have a limit.
Speaker: You gotta have a budget for that time, all right?
Speaker: Now, some cool ones that you can use right now that's gonna give you some pretty tricky results that are just awesome
Speaker: Cut your presentation times in half this week.
Speaker: Check it out.
Speaker: Your last presentation you went on, did it take an hour and a half?
Speaker: Did it take two hours?
Speaker: Cut it in half.
Speaker: Tell the homeowner, I've got one hour.
Speaker: Or you personally, you set a timer on your phone, you've got one hour.
Speaker: You do it an hour, you've got 30 minutes.
Speaker: 30 minutes, 15 minutes.
Speaker: Spartan System, we teach you how to do a 20-minute pitch with a 90% close rate.
Speaker: This is the baby steps to get there.
Speaker: Cut that time in half.
Speaker: You've got a phone call time with your friend who takes two hours normally.
Speaker: Say, yo, I got 15 minutes to talk.
Speaker: What's up?
Speaker: Get to the point.
Speaker: Get to the purpose.
Speaker: Again.
Speaker: Last one here is meetings.
Speaker: This is a touchy subject.
Speaker: Your company probably has sales meetings.
Speaker: Most of them are a huge waste of time because they're not doing things right.
Speaker: If you're getting value out of your meetings, you're learning things, and they're not just entertaining and making you feel productive and busy, then yes, meetings are great.
Speaker: But one way to start out a meeting is when you get to that meeting, ask them, hey, what's the outcome?
Speaker: What are we accomplishing from this meeting?
Speaker: What's the goal with this meeting?
Speaker: What are we talking about?
Speaker: Boom.
Speaker: That's it.
Speaker: Too often, we get into meetings just to have them, just out of routine, just out of habit.
Speaker: It's just cool to chat.
Speaker: Hey, what do you guys think?
Speaker: Blah, blah, blah.
Speaker: There's no real goal, right?
Speaker: Figure out what the goal is.
Speaker: This is going to help everybody else on your team, but it's also going to help you.
Speaker: Now, if your meetings suck.
Speaker: Negotiate out negotiate out with your company how to do one of two things one improve the meetings efficiency by saying hey We need an agenda for every meeting.
Speaker: I got to focus on my goals.
Speaker: Here's my goals.
Speaker: Here's how I'm gonna do it I can't have this time waster right now.
Speaker: Can you help me figure out how to make our meetings more efficient?
Speaker: Can we do it in 30 minutes instead of 60?
Speaker: Can we have the notes laid out?
Speaker: Can we do a Zoom call so it's more efficient?
Speaker: Can we do a conference call on the phone so we don't have to drive out to the office?
Speaker: Can we make this more efficient?
Speaker: Your company owner, if he's worth his weight, he's going to work with you on this because he wants you to be a more high-performance solar pro.
Speaker: So take that initiative, take that leadership, cut those meetings, make them more efficient.
Speaker: Now, if your company is not going to go that route, see if you can negotiate being out of the meetings completely.
Speaker: This is what I did when I was starting out.
Speaker: I didn't go to sales meetings.
Speaker: I spent that time training myself because that was going to be a better use of my time.
Speaker: I invested it with mentors.
Speaker: It was a better use of my time.
Speaker: Be aware of these things.
Speaker: Cut it out.
Speaker: Now, guys, those are the strategies.
Speaker: Be aware of time.
Speaker: Treat it like a currency.
Speaker: Use these strategies.
Speaker: they're going to make a big difference in your sales, your goals, your success.
Speaker: Let's get to the next video.
Speaker: Wow, what another value-packed episode of The Solarpreneur.
