Introduction and Purpose

00:00:19
Speaker
What's going on, everyone? This is your boy, L.A. Styles, like the L.A. Styles, aka ice. This is the podcast that all federal employees have been waiting for, especially my craft employees. It is the podcast that postal customers need. Postal residents need craft employees need supervisors need.
00:00:47
Speaker
Uh, and definitely managers need, you know, again, I'm your boy, LA, my co-host coffee, my sister fee, you know, we don't, we don't be all this information by the contract and operating in the gray.

Navigating Postal Contracts

00:01:08
Speaker
You ever hear us say that, especially me operating by the contract, meaning whatever's in black and white in our contract.
00:01:17
Speaker
per whatever your craft contract is, whatever's in the contract, the black and white. But we all know the post office off the books like the operating the gray a lot.
00:01:31
Speaker
I don't know where to come from. One of the most unorganized organizations we all can say, especially if you've been a part of it, right? I know a lot of new people, whether it's a craft employees or whoever, you having a lot of questions and feel like they don't get the answers that they need to be able to operate.
00:01:51
Speaker
Alright, so this covers or our podcast will cover the black and white, what it says should happen, what they should do, what we should do, or whoever should do, and what we know to happen, which is the gray area, right? And how you should move or can move by the black and white or in the gray area.
00:02:20
Speaker
yeah man it's gonna be very interesting now today is my son's birthday so we'll not be potting today uh i was hoping to but a lot is going on and it is my son's birthday today july 21st um and my sister fee and my brother coffee not here

Host Introductions and Experiences

00:02:41
Speaker
But this is just a trailer, you know, to give you guys a kind of a summary of what this podcast will be about. We will speak about our experiences, about our knowledge. We have been around. Right. My sister fee carrier and and they are Union Stewart.
00:03:06
Speaker
My brother, coffee carrier, myself, I've been a carrier supervisor or acting supervisor, I should say, and I've been an active manager.
00:03:16
Speaker
in the postal service. I'm a carrier by craft. Our other close cousin, Reese, he a truck driver, you know, so in the postal service. So again, we all come from different backgrounds and different walks of life and have had hiccups with various
00:03:41
Speaker
Black and white instances or what we thought or should be black and white instances. But again, that gray area try to come into effect. And again, a lot of new people don't know how to operate in the black and white, let alone the gray. They don't even know a gray exists.

Improving Postal Service

00:03:56
Speaker
We think it's a black and white. Right. So we're here to talk about a lot of that. What should be what shouldn't be from all aspects, not just craft side, even from the death side. Right. Because some of us do have this experience.
00:04:12
Speaker
So what is good and bad all the way around, we will talk about what should, what should be different and how we can unite going forward as a, as a service.
00:04:25
Speaker
You know what I'm saying? But we still have customers as a service and how we gonna make a difference or make a change in the service, right? This and our knowledge and experiences has come together.

Platform for Knowledge Sharing

00:04:37
Speaker
Everybody welcome to come chat when we do live recordings, the live tapens of you a steward, no matter your craft, if you're a supervisor, if you're a manager, you're always welcome.
00:04:48
Speaker
We do plan to do interviews going into the future for people who got personal situations. I'm not gonna say personal situation, but personal situations pertaining to work and how we can help you maneuver through that, whether you're a steward or a craft employee or a supervisor or manager on your side. So we will be talking about it all. And a lot of what we're gonna lead with is what's in the black and white, meaning what should be.
00:05:17
Speaker
what should be, right? So if you need that knowledge, if you know a friend who needs that knowledge, co-worker associate who needs that knowledge, if you're thinking about getting into the postal service, we're going to talk here. You can get that knowledge. If you know someone in it, hit that share button, send it to them.
00:05:36
Speaker
Right.

Community Engagement and Interaction

00:05:37
Speaker
We also got a community on Twitter called postal blue community. You're all welcome to join a community community over there where we will be doing live spaces in that community. Right. And we can pull people up. Get those get those questions asked when the chat get those questions asked and we can give you all those answers that you might need to operate while you should be moving.
00:06:00
Speaker
or in general conversation, you know what I'm saying? We can always debate or just have a nice conversation, right? Again, no matter what side of the line that you fall on. Also, this podcast will be for customers because the customers don't know a lot of what postal workers go through.
00:06:18
Speaker
Right? We know how we all hate informed delivery. Especially if you're a carrier. We know how we all hate informed delivery because it's inaccurate, but a lot of customers don't know that. They don't know that. And what happens is a lot of the LPOs, which is your local post office, catches a lot of slack when things don't add up or it don't make sense to them.
00:06:40
Speaker
it makes sense to us because we know that the company not perfect it don't make sense to them though and your carriers or your supervisors will manage at the station we catch a lot of slack a lot of the burn that work which i also don't think is fair to everybody else outside the lpo's get to take the back seat on a lot of things and the lpo gotta take a lot of the slack uh up front it's not cool and not fair but again we'll get into all of that
00:07:04
Speaker
Make sure you follow us on YouTube. If you're watching this on YouTube, here we are. You know what I'm saying? Post a blue podcast. If you're on Twitter, go follow the community. Post a blue. You're going to get a lot of the live content there.
00:07:32
Speaker
where you can actually participate. And we do it in the spaces because again, listeners can participate, right? You can get pulled up and give us your question, give us your information and whatever case.
00:07:50
Speaker
Excuse me. So I'm trying to think, trying to think, make sure you hashtag, if you've got any questions, concerns, if you just want to shout us out, make sure you hashtag postalbluepodcast, postalbluepodcast on everything. Podcast Schedule and Format

00:08:27
Speaker
Shout out to coffee, shout out to fee, shout out to my son, happy birthday. And we will hope to see y'all in the future on a full episode coming this Sunday.
00:08:38
Speaker
Right. All the actual recorded shows will be Sunday and hopefully uploaded on Sunday on a day that we recorded. So I recorded an afternoon, get it edited and uploaded the same later afternoon on Sundays. Or it might just release on Mondays. Right. Start the week out. Right.
00:08:58
Speaker
So you guys, we don't get fresh back to work off that Sunday, that Sunday off day, that you'll have some content to listen to when you working Monday. So we'll do it like that. We're gonna record a Sunday, but it's gonna release on Monday. And then we'll find a day during the week, a day or two to do live in the spaces. Typically gonna be in the afternoons because again, we all got nine to fives, so.
00:09:24
Speaker
And our off days on our line like that. They need coffee and fee all on different colors. I think I'm black, fee red, and coffee is blue. So we don't have the same off days at all besides Sunday. So that's why we're gonna record on Sunday. Again, welcome to postal blue. All right, one color, one group. No matter your craft, you know what I'm saying? We gotta do what's best for the post office and our voices gotta be heard and need to be heard.
00:09:52
Speaker
But again, this is a fair talking point.

Diverse Perspectives on Operations

00:09:56
Speaker
So we will speak from this from all angles. Not everything carriers do is right, clerks, truck drivers, not everything they do is right. So management does have leeway for some things.
00:10:07
Speaker
But on the flip side of that, not everything supervisors do is right. Definitely not everything managers do is right. We gonna talk about it all, okay? Make sure you hit that like, share, subscribe. If you got any comments, leave that in the comment section below. Make sure you hit that share button. If it's not for you, if it's somebody that you know that's in the postal service, looking to get into the postal service, if it's a customer, if you're just a customer, they got issues with your mail all the time, whatever the case is.
00:10:32
Speaker
You should stick around. Probably can get a lot of stuff sorted out for you. We'll give you information that you need and give you direction on who you can talk to to get whatever your situation fix if it's actual situation. You know what I'm saying? That needs to be fixed. Highlighters. Peace.
