um I'm obviously hoping we can replicate the performance that we did against Manchester City last Saturday at 5.30, but it's an away match. Boo. um lot being said about Newcastle taking the lead in away games and then throwing it away in the second half, which was awful to sit through when we saw that happen against West Ham and then we saw that happen against Brentford.

To be honest, although that's exactly what happened when we played at Marseille, I feel far more encouraged by the performance against Marseille. um I think we did very well in the first half, certainly gave as good as we got.

And I think that aberration by Nick Pope, 20 seconds into the second half, really knocked the stuffing out of the side. It conceded a second straight away, probably still in shock.

But I think I, along with the majority of the Newcastle fans, would like to see what our big money on loan goalkeeper can do in the Premier League. We paid £4 million, I think, just to have him for the season.

Pretty good, nothing really to report on that. However, he's still feeling pain in it, so he's been left out. um Sven Botman has been on the bench the last two games because he's got a little bit of a back problem.

And I think that persists. So I don't think we will need to put Sven Botman into the perm any two from four centre-half conundrums that Eddie might have had if Sven's out injured.

And fortunately for us, he's waited until Tino Livramento is back, but Kieran Trippier has, uh, been and had a scan on a hamstring, which looks like it's going to be about a month out for Kieran Trippier, which I'm pleased that it means Livramento will start.

Um, but it, it, uh, it doesn't help in terms of rotation. Uh, If he is out for a month, that's eight games he's going to miss and that will be eight lots 90 minutes. Livermento might be asked to play.

The big news, though, and the very encouraging news, was that when they came back from Marseille, they trained on the Wednesday and Johan Wisser took to the field and trained with his teammates for the very first time.

That's just a straight choice, I think. And I think Ramsdale, in the few moments we've seen him give a cameo against Tottenham and in the Carabao Cup, I thought he was very good.

I thought Alanga did okay when he came on against Marseille, but i don't know if he did enough to dislodge Murphy, who seems to be able to produce a fantastic ball into the box once every 10 or 15 minutes.

Everton are a much improved side compared to the dross that we've managed to lose to a few times in the last few years um Moyes has really got them organized at the back and uh you know they did very well to win at Old Trafford with a man short on Monday night so it's not going to be an easy game but I think as long as we have the right attitude to the right mental approach we should have too much for them um
