N D: And eventually, every once in a while, we'll be doing video.

N D: So I think next week we're going to do video with our.

N D: Yeah.
Chad Decker: in nfl right now so we were just talking before we came on the air here but you're not a fan of these uh practice sessions that they have with other teams.
N D: No, I don't mind them, but... I mean. You're going to have injuries. You're going to have, oh, there was a. I guess the Bears were hitting too hard again yesterday.
N D: year Last year, the Dolphins. said that the Bears were hitting too hard in the joint practice.
Chad Decker: Okay.
N D: so if that's the case then i guess yeah let's get rid of the joint practices and Go hit yourself or... Don't hit yourself.

N D: and And not be ready for the season. but
Chad Decker: What? so what weren't the joint practices and and i could be wrong but so Because there used to be four preseason games, right? And now there's only three.
N D: Yep.
Chad Decker: And so that's when they allowed those joint practices to come on.
N D: Yeah, I think so. they've Yeah, they've gotten more.

N D: of them They've had them in the past, but I think they're getting more of them now.

Chad Decker: there's fights and everything. So do you think they work? I mean, I remember last year you talking about them as like, that's when they get their work in is when they're doing those joint practices and i'm like
N D: Yeah.
Chad Decker: I don't know if I'd buy that or not. because you know you don't want your quarterback to get hurt.
N D: That and you're not going to show anything.

I mean... you We call it a scrimmage. you know We would go scrimmage. like I remember in high school, and we're going a few years back, but you know we would go for a day up to the cities and we would scrimmage like three or four different teams.
Chad Decker: you know, and you'd run 20 plays over your offense and then you'd switch.
N D: Yep.
Chad Decker: I need to play 20 teams or 20, you know, I don't know what it was, but I mean. you you learned a lot and these were teams that you never played you know what i mean so it was like
N D: Right.
Chad Decker: Um. Bye. I don't know. they were They were always fun. I mean, I enjoyed claim. the game but you know

N D: Saturday is the last two preseason games, and then they have two weeks off before we start on. Wednesday. On hump day.

N D: So the first games are Patriots at Seahawks. the
Chad Decker: Super Bowl rematch.
N D: Yep. That'll be on Wednesday the 9th, then 49ers -Rams on the 10th.
Chad Decker: could be a pretty good game.
N D: And then some.
Chad Decker: during this.
N D: Pretty good matchups on Sunday. Um... Bears Viking or a Packers Vikings.
Chad Decker: Yes.
N D: kick off the season.
Chad Decker: Yes.
N D: Do you like...

N D: Starting off against a. Big division rival, or would you rather have two? Non -conference. conference matchups with. somebody else and Maybe don't start your division play until like week three or four.
Chad Decker: you see interestingly enough i was thinking about that on the way up today, like when I was driving.
N D: I knew that.
Chad Decker: in. Um... You know, i would if if if it has to be a division opponent, I would like to play like Chicago or Green Bay. At. their home stadium.
Chad Decker: Because obviously. If you play the Bears or the Packers later in the season, at their home stadium, you're going to have the weather. You know what I mean?
N D: right
Chad Decker: so if you can if you can get to chicago before what october first and green bay before
N D: Yep.
Chad Decker: you know. or maybe you know you could go into late october i think but evening
N D: But Randy Moss was never affected by the weather, was he?
Chad Decker: Well, I don't think Do they? Do they get affected by the weather, Nolan? I know we had this discussion last year.
N D: Well. Everybody said the Rams were going to be screwed going to Chicago.

N D: And, you know, they played. I mean everybody has to deal with it. Even.

N D: Bears and Packers aren't used to playing outside.

N D: so I mean. You can't tell me they practiced in 20 below weather all week to get ready for Sunday.

Chad Decker: Maybe I'm going back to the Vikings of their glory years when Bud Grant had them come out in short sleeves and then like the L .A. Rams would come to town. You know, all the glamour boys and they're all tan and they get out there and they just look.
N D: Yep.
Chad Decker: Frozen. from the beginning, you know, maybe that's what I don't know. Like you said, I think it's a softer league now. you know I can't repeat what you called the Titans.

Chad Decker: Well, let's let's say, God forbid, one of our starting quarterbacks go down. And any you know, you don't want golf and love to go down. You don't want Williams to go down. You don't want you want your team at full strength when you play them.
N D: Yep.
Chad Decker: you could but That'd be terrible.

N D: and And we've seen that. I still remember the year when. Tom Brady went down. Even when Aaron Rodgers went down, when Tom Brady went down.

N D: this like the rest of the sunday was just kind of like oh my god what are we gonna do

N D: even Even though he didn't quarterback for the Bears, it was just like. Tom Brady. is not playing this year.
Chad Decker: Right. right
N D: It was the same thing when Aaron Rodgers went down with his Achilles. It's just kind of like.

N D: Wow, that's kind of kind of weird that... Aaron Rodgers isn't. at quarterback.
Chad Decker: Right. right well the the crazy thing was it's like the patriots still won 11 11 games that season but didn't make the playoffs because there was so i mean yeah that's crazy

N D: There are certain systems in the NFL that continue to make playoffs, whether their quarterback is. A Tom Brady. I mean, look at Brock Purdy.
Chad Decker: Yeah.
N D: I mean. He's nothing to... write home to mom about, but. The guy's winning games. He's got a stud running back. He's got a. Good bunch of receivers, a stud -tight end.
N D: and
Chad Decker: Yeah. Okay, sold.

Chad Decker: i i think um I think Xavier Scott, one of their running backs, is going to be the the biggest name that gets cut. And he'll probably hook up somewhere else and get rolling. But I really like that. uh damon claiborne the new Running back, we got as quick as just.

Chad Decker: That guy can move. You know? Um, He can get outside quick. And so I like that. I think he'll i think you'll see him and Jordan Mason. che and carries And I think Aaron Jones is going to be that.
Chad Decker: guy that's going to be down on the goal line.

N D: Um, I got Johnson getting cut because. um Ahmed came in and... He's a veteran, and I think he ran a little bit better. They're going to go with Swift and Menungai.
N D: obviously those two are the top runners unless one of those guys is

N D: Either hurt or... Whatever, but... he's probably going to get cut defensively. I seen a couple of guys, but with Kobe Bryant out, I don't think they'd make a lot of cuts defensively.
Chad Decker: yeah Yeah.
N D: So yeah, Roshan Johnson would be the one. I know he's been hanging on the last few years. Heck of a runner, but he just never gets a chance with the guys that are ahead of him.
Chad Decker: Yeah, he just doesn't, he can't stay on the field. Is that what it is? They always try and like.

N D: um I'm waiting for a trade. I really am. I'm waiting for polls to do something here. and

N D: I know Packer fans are going to go, well. These are the same two guys. that bears are looking at. But the Packers are also like Josh Sweat. from Arizona and Joey Porter Jr.
Chad Decker: Yeah.
N D: from Pittsburgh. Both Bears and Packers have the same needs. And those two players are. I mean, they're at... I don't know if Joey Porter is going to get traded, but.
N D: how I would think Josh Sweat would be. Would be going to a team that That's going to win. I don't know.

N D: He may just end up staying in Arizona. and
Chad Decker: Yeah. Kiss. Is it me or has there been more trades lately in the NFL? Because I remember like a long time ago, you know. just like You never really saw trades, but now you kind of do. It was always like.
Chad Decker: You know, they do free agents. But now you see that you see that. But trade here and there, you know.

N D: No, I don't know. i I wish there were more trades. But... You know, we we talk about, I think we talked about it. I was listening to an old podcast from. Decker and Dix. I think it was last year.
N D: We were talking about The loyalty thing. There's... There's just no loyalty anymore in the NFL. and

N D: what What is crazy is that. We lost two guys. In the offseason. To, like... Wonder. won the Carolina and won the Cleveland. And I'm just like, what?
N D: And they... and they didn't get paid much more so i I just don't get where... you know Guys just. moving all over the place just to gain an extra buck or two. I don't get it, but.
N D: i know I think I'd want to stay in an organization where I have a chance to win a ring. But maybe ring isn't important too. The NFL players, some guys. Do like the rings. Some of them probably don't really care.

N D: they just They just suit up, put their – it's 40 hours, right? 40 hours a week.
