Speaker: Welcome to the Solarpreneur Podcast, where we teach you to take your solar business to the next level.

Speaker: My name is Taylor Armstrong.

Speaker: I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in a year and cracking the code on why sales reps fell.

Speaker: I teach you how to avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads, falling up like a pro, and closing more deals.

Speaker: What is a solarpreneur you might ask?

Speaker: A solarpreneur is a new breed of solar pro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery and you are about to become one.

Speaker: What's going on solarpreneurs?

Speaker: Taylor Armstrong here.

Speaker: As usual, to help make your solar journey a better one by closing more deals, generating more leads and referrals, and having a much better time in the solar industry.

Speaker: So we're kicking off the year strong.

Speaker: I hope to see you shortly because we're coming up on DoorDorCon, one of my favorite events that I go to every year.

Speaker: So if you're hearing this, you're probably too late to get you a ticket.

Speaker: So I apologize, should have done this episode probably a week earlier, but wanted to get it out.

Speaker: We want to do a little preview here for LULs that are going.

Speaker: And if you're not going, don't worry.

Speaker: We're going to be doing a door to door con highlight, a highlight of some of the events we've been going to.

Speaker: And even if you're not going still listen this episode, because basically I want to make sure you know who to follow, who the best of the best in the industry are.

Speaker: So listen in because we're going to talk about some of the top producers here, what guys are doing.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And so before we jump into that, just wanted to thank everyone that attended

Speaker: the training I recently was featured on a training with James Ramos over there.

Speaker: So if you had the chance to hop on that, thanks for supporting.

Speaker: We had some great guests on that training.

Speaker: It was his five day solar cells.

Speaker: I think it w as a summit.

Speaker: Anyways, go shoot James a follow.

Speaker: Let him know you appreciated him if you happen to be on that training.

Speaker: And then also before we jump into a little preview here,

Speaker: Don't forget to tune in to next episode because we're going to have what is the number two Good Leap rep in all of Florida.

Speaker: He's going to be sharing some secrets with us on the next episode.

Speaker: His name is Ruben Ayala.

Speaker: He was the number two rep in all of Good Leap, which if you don't know what Good Leap is, that is a solar lender, right, formerly known as Lone Val.

Speaker: So he has closed a lot of solar loans, a lot of solar deals.

Speaker: So you're not going to want to miss out.

Speaker: Make sure you're tuning in every week because we're featuring different guests.

Speaker: And then also talking about topics that are undoubtedly going to help you on a weekly basis as you're out there trying to close more solar deals and grow your team.

Speaker: So that being said, let's jump into a little preview here.

Speaker: We're going to keep it brief.

Speaker: And this is going to go out on the day Door-to-DoorCon starts.

Speaker: So again, even if you're not here listening, I'm going to share with you the reasons why you should be checking out a few of these people.

Speaker: So first of all, we got the headliners, Natasha Graziano, Cole Hatter, Sam Taggart,

Speaker: Tim story Jesse Itzler Jim quick a lot of great people there and those are the big names at the event But I'm gonna tell you a few of the smaller names and a few of the spilt solar specific people and what's cool is a lot of these guys have been on the podcast So as I'm going through these names make sure you number one shoot them a follow on their social medias Because they're publishing some awesome stuff and then number two is

Speaker: If they have been on the podcast, I'll let you know if they've been on there.

Speaker: Go back and listen to their episodes if you haven't already because all these guests, all these people, they talked about some super powerful stuff.

Speaker: Okay, so tune into them.

Speaker: So Door2DoorCon, it starts Friday, January 14th.

Speaker: And the way it works, they have the main stage where the headliners are speaking, the bigger names, right?

Speaker: But then what's cool is it breaks off into sort of the workshops.

Speaker: And that's where we get to talk about solar specific topics, about leadership, just different little focuses within the event.

Speaker: Okay, so that's what we're going to be talking about.

Speaker: And I'm going to let you know where I'm going to be.

Speaker: So again, if you are at Door to DoorCon, come say hi.

Speaker: We'd love to interact with you all there.

Speaker: Okay, so at 2 p.m., we've got two of my favorite people that have been on the podcast.

Speaker: And this is going to be a tough choice.

Speaker: Maybe I'm going to go to half of one, half of the other.

Speaker: Not sure.

Speaker: But we've got Mo Fala at 2 p.m.

Speaker: He's speaking on leadership, scaling, and leadership in your business.

Speaker: And then the other person, we've got Brad Mortensen, which if you haven't heard his episode, he talks about his software, which is RepCard.

Speaker: Everyone should be using this.

Speaker: Everyone should download it.

Speaker: And that is a digital business card.

Speaker: So go listen to that if you haven't or if you don't know what that is.

Speaker: But super powerful.

Speaker: It's going to help you close at least a couple extra deals guaranteed a year if you're using it correctly.

Speaker: But anyways, so these two people, they're speaking at two.

Speaker: So I'm definitely going to be checking them out.

Speaker: Again, go listen to their podcast if you haven't.

Speaker: Mo is the CEO, the founder of Simple Solar.

Speaker: He started that company, built it from the ground up, and they're now in multiple states.

Speaker: He's probably the youngest solar CEO, one of the youngest for sure out there, and he's growing his business like crazy.

Speaker: Did over $25 million in I think his first full year of business, so go listen to that episode if you haven't already.

Speaker: So they're at two.

Speaker: So if you are at Door2DoorCon, make sure you go check them out.

Speaker: And guys, the reason I'm doing this as well, I mentioned before we jumped in the preview, but if you do not know who the top guys in solar are, then it's going to be tough to emulate them.

Speaker: And I know there's guys that aren't as prominent on social media.

Speaker: Maybe you got guys on your team that are doing amazing things.

Speaker: Let me know if you do, because I would love to get them on the show.

Speaker: But the reason I believe it's so powerful to follow these people, if you know who they are, if you know who's just crushing it in solar, if you know who's growing their teams like crazy, and you're following these people, it's only going to help you because success leaves clues.

Speaker: It just takes me back to when, as many of you know, I was studying music, specifically percussion, at my university.

Speaker: And it always blew my mind, these top guys,

Speaker: always knew who the best drummers were they always i played this thing called the marimba it's a giant like a giant xylophone if you don't know and all the top marimba players what they were doing is just emulating the other top players okay so i'd ask some of these guys hey who do um how did you get so good and it was all about who they learned from who they surrounded themselves with and some of these drummers

Speaker: they would be like, oh, did you hear Travis Barker on this solo?

Speaker: Not only did they know who the top people were, but they would know specific sections of what they were doing.

Speaker: You get these top drummers, these top percussionists.

Speaker: These guys would memorize their solos, their fills, their drum patterns and all that.

Speaker: So as we're trying to sell more solar, we need to be doing the same thing.

Speaker: Are you following the top guys?

Speaker: Are you emulating what's working?

Speaker: Because if you're just out there by yourself, it's going to be tough to improve, right?

Speaker: There is always room for improvement.

Speaker: It's a little tangent there, but that is why I think it's important that you know who these guys are, that you go follow them, and that you're constantly trying to surround yourself and learn from the best of the best, which is another reason I recommend going to events like this.

Speaker: And then another thing I forgot to mention, if you haven't already, go back about a year ago.

Speaker: We had a great episode on why it's important to attend live events.

Speaker: So if you're still not sold on coming to this stuff like this, then go check that out as well.

Speaker: Yeah, so sorry to get off topic there.

Speaker: Meant to bring that up before we started getting into the preview here.

Speaker: But now jumping back to Friday at 3 o'clock, we have got a solar panel.

Speaker: So anyone that is listening to this right now, you should be at the solar panel.

Speaker: Because on this panel, some of the best closers of solar in the industry.

Speaker: We got Blake Randall.

Speaker: He is, I believe, he has not come on the podcast.

Speaker: We need to get him on soon.

Speaker: He is, I believe, in Texas working for Pure Energy.

Speaker: I think with Suli that recently came on the show.

Speaker: He's the number one rep in his company.

Speaker: Closing deals galore.

Speaker: Matt Crowther is on the panel.

Speaker: He was on the podcast probably been a year and a half or so, about a year and a half back.

Speaker: He is running a team in the Riverside, California area with Dave Madsen, another GOAT of the solar industry.

Speaker: And he's doing amazing things too.

Speaker: Going to be on the panel.

Speaker: Then we've got Oscar Luna, which this guy, need to get him on the show soon, but he has got a Golden Door Award in alarms and solar.

Speaker: If you don't know what that is, that is closing or getting over 120 installs now in solar.

Speaker: Then alarms, I think it's anything over 300 installed.

Speaker: So to do that in alarms and solar, amazing, incredible.

Speaker: So gonna be learning from guys like this.

Speaker: And then of course, how can you have a solar panel without Mike O'Donnell?

Speaker: Here we got Michael O'Donnell is gonna be on the panel.

Speaker: Probably going to do another episode with him here soon, but if you don't know who that is, you're probably living under a rock.

Speaker: He is the top installer year after year in solar.

Speaker: Does consistently over 2 megawatts a year by himself.

Speaker: Then we got Nate Spears.

Speaker: I don't know who that is, but I'm going to meet him.

Speaker: Moving on at 4 o'clock.

Speaker: Hey, we have got Brady Slack.

Speaker: He has been on the podcast.

Speaker: He is the tax expert over at High Country Finance.

Speaker: Hey, if you want to know more about how to better explain the tax benefits of solar and just have a better understanding of taxes in general and as you bring in more income, Brady is the guy to follow for that.

Speaker: He has also been on the podcast.

Speaker: He's going to be at four.

Speaker: Come say hi if you are there.

Speaker: And I think that's about a wrap for that day.

Speaker: Doug Cartwright, he's also up for another guy.

Speaker: He has not been on the show, but been following for a little bit.

Speaker: He is more on the mindset side of sales, does some awesome stuff.

Speaker: Okay, and then Friday at 9.30, we're kicking off.

Speaker: We've got Jory Sullivan.

Speaker: He came on the show pretty recently, maybe about six months ago.

Speaker: He's been talking about solar cells events plus response equals...

Speaker: outcome and he has an amazing story if you didn't hear that podcast he pretty much came from practically homeless yeah i think he was homeless actually to now leading a massive region at his company selling tons of deals and he has around 500 installs now okay and then also especially for the woman in the industry if you're going to be there don't forget about the women's panel

Speaker: We've got Alex Hogan-Hall who came on the show recently, Suli Zink, Kimba Garcia, I almost said Kimbo Slice, remember that fighter?

Speaker: Lindsay Erickson and Jordan Schumann.

Speaker: I know a lot of those ladies there doing some amazing stuff, so go check out these lady slayers in solar.

Speaker: lot of them are in solar not all of them i know alex and suly are and lindsey okay um and then what else we got here that is at 9 30 10 30. looks like no one specifically in solar in that 11 30 we got some ceos they're gonna be on a panel david williamson you should all know him from titan hey everyone knows david

Speaker: And then another dark horse, Devin Anderson, is doing some crazy stuff too.

Speaker: He is kind of like a MoFalla Jr., how we call him.

Speaker: He is running his own company, and he has built it like crazy, doing some incredible stuff.

Speaker: They have not been on the podcast, David and Devin have not, but hopefully we'll get him on soon.

Speaker: Okay, so just a little preview, and it goes without saying, if you're going to be there, go watch.

Speaker: check out the Golden Door Awards for solar and then also make sure you see the keynote speakers because they are always dropping some bombs.

Speaker: So just a little preview if you're not going to be there we hope to see it next time and then we are going to be dropping a recap of the event probably here next week so even if you're not at the event I'm going to be sharing

Speaker: with you the best of door to door con.

Speaker: And then also there's a knock star event that we'll probably will give some highlights of.

Speaker: So a little bit different.

Speaker: So hope that even if you are not coming to the door to door to door con, you go follow these people and especially go check out their podcast if you haven't already.

Speaker: And again, I hope to see you guys at the event.

Speaker: And if you're not, make sure you come to the next one.

Speaker: Don't forget, next episode, we're going to hear from Ruben, number two rep in all of Florida.

Speaker: You're not going to want to miss out on the knowledge he's bringing to the podcast.

Speaker: And with that being said, we'll see you guys on the next show.
