Speaker: Welcome to the Solarpreneur Podcast, where we teach you to take your solar business to the next level.

Speaker: My name is Taylor Armstrong.

Speaker: I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in a year and cracking the code on why sales reps fell.

Speaker: I teach you how to avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads, falling up like a pro, and closing more deals.

Speaker: What is a Solarpreneur you might ask?

Speaker: A Solarpreneur is a new breed of Solar Pro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery and you are about to become one.

Speaker: a new must-have app for solopreneurs, and a guest preview coming up on today's podcast.

Speaker: That and much more.

Speaker: Let's jump into it.

Speaker: My name's Taylor Armstrong, as usual, here to help you close more deals, generate more leads and referrals, and hopefully have a much better time in the solar industry.

Speaker: Thanks for making the Solopreneur podcast the first listen of your day, because if you want to make more money, this is the podcast you should be listening to.

Speaker: I'm excited for today's episode.

Speaker: If you didn't hear the previous episodes, we just got back from door to door con knockstar a couple events that were going on.

Speaker: So go listen to that recap.

Speaker: If you didn't already hear some of the drama and the happenings of the events.

Speaker: But also in that podcast, I did mention that I didn't get as much out of the events this time.

Speaker: And the reason is because I was interviewing like a madman.

Speaker: We got a lot of new guests coming up on the podcast.

Speaker: Excited to share them with you.

Speaker: And let me tell you, they are super valuable interviews that you are not going to want to miss out on.

Speaker: So make sure you're tuned in to the coming episodes the next month or two.

Speaker: We already got them lined up for my solar homies.

Speaker: So I know you're going to love them.

Speaker: Before we jump into the little guest preview that's coming up, I wanted to give a big shout out to my friend Paul Clifford.

Speaker: He gave us an app recommendation that I thought looked fire.

Speaker: I've been trying it out, doing some experimenting with it myself.

Speaker: So that's the first item of business we're going to handle here.

Speaker: I'm going to tell you guys the app.

Speaker: I would go download it right now.

Speaker: And if any of you have been listeners of the show, I have been using this app called Sunseeker.

Speaker: It is basically an app that I think it's 20 bucks on the app store.

Speaker: And it lets you see the path of the sun just over people's homes.

Speaker: And it's really valuable because you create interaction on the doors with it.

Speaker: So you can be on the door showing people saying, hey, our team has actually already been looking at your roof.

Speaker: This is why so many people are coming by.

Speaker: Let me show you real quick.

Speaker: Pull up your phone.

Speaker: You can show them their house right there.

Speaker: Create some good engagement.

Speaker: This new app, it is...

Speaker: Almost the same thing.

Speaker: And this app, it is called Sun's Path.

Speaker: So once again, thanks Paul Clifford for telling me about this app.

Speaker: Shout out to him.

Speaker: But it is essentially an alternative to Sunseeker.

Speaker: What's cool about it though, two things, it's free.

Speaker: Okay, so for you people that aren't making a lot of money yet, okay, no excuses.

Speaker: You don't have to pay the 20 bucks for the app like you do with Sunseeker.

Speaker: And number two, it does 3D imaging of it.

Speaker: So you can kind of tilt the screen.

Speaker: You can make it go up and down.

Speaker: And it's cool that way.

Speaker: I will say I don't like the...

Speaker: I don't think I like the design quite as much.

Speaker: And then obviously being a free app, you got some ads at the bottom.

Speaker: So those are the two downsides of it.

Speaker: But if you don't want to go out and spend the $20, this is a great alternative.

Speaker: Might, yeah, probably just as good as in some aspects better than Sunseeker.

Speaker: Sunseeker doesn't have the digital.

Speaker: It doesn't have the 3D.

Speaker: I think it's only in 2D.

Speaker: So this is cool because you can tilt it.

Speaker: And for some of you geeking out on that stuff, maybe get a better view of the roof or the home that way.

Speaker: But if you go download it, so go download it right now.

Speaker: No excuses.

Speaker: It's a free app.

Speaker: And the one thing I did with it is you're going to see like three different sun paths on there.

Speaker: And this is where I think maybe it's a little more complex than Sun Secret.

Speaker: It shows basically the summer path of the sun in the winter.

Speaker: And then I think it just shows like an average path.

Speaker: Okay, I'm no genius with this stuff.

Speaker: I just sell the panels.

Speaker: Okay, but for those that are simple-minded like myself, what I did is I went into the settings.

Speaker: You tap the three dots on the upper right.

Speaker: You can actually turn off the summer and winter display.

Speaker: So it just shows one path of the sun going over makes it a little more simple for me in my head and maybe some of the people you're showing the path of the sun to.

Speaker: So anyways, don't want to get into I know I'm just explaining this a lot easier if you go download it, tinker with it, but couldn't resist sharing the app.

Speaker: Always trying to get the latest and greatest technology, the latest and greatest tools to help y'all sell more solar.

Speaker: So that's the first thing.

Speaker: Now I want to preview a few of the upcoming guests we have.

Speaker: We knocked out seven interviews at the event.

Speaker: Some of these people are repeat, have already been on the show.

Speaker: Actually, I think only one.

Speaker: So only one.

Speaker: I stand corrected.

Speaker: But we had the one, the only Michael O'Donnell on the show.

Speaker: If you haven't listened to his podcast, he's done two already on Sorepreneur Podcasts.

Speaker: He's coming up.

Speaker: We had Josue Phillips, Jake Hess, Ty Segan, Devin Anderson, Eric Sanchez, Kenny Crosby.

Speaker: If you don't know those names, you're going to know them soon because all of them are doing incredible things.

Speaker: So just to highlight a few of them, you should know Michael O'Donnell.

Speaker: I don't think he needs an introduction.

Speaker: Jake Hess, he is the founder of the Solar Academy.

Speaker: which is a, they do solar consulting, solar training.

Speaker: They run the solar objections, Facebook group, him along with solar Joe, my friend and Jake Cassie has given me just a ton of knowledge on more of the technical details of solar and just electrical, which is super helpful to know also has great sales training.

Speaker: But he's going to be coming on much anticipated.

Speaker: Ty Segan, this guy is, I would say, kind of a hidden gem.

Speaker: He closed 250 deals last year, and the guy is a workhorse.

Speaker: He's working seven days a week, eight to 12-hour days, so no secret why he's having success.

Speaker: But he has some super ninja strategies that you guys are going to love.

Speaker: Devin Anderson, he is, as far as I know, the youngest, at least successful solar CEO.

Speaker: He runs a company called Source Energy out in Colorado.

Speaker: Has built a massive team.

Speaker: I think they're up to 60 reps or so.

Speaker: And just crushing it out there.

Speaker: So especially for all you young hustlers, the guy's 21.

Speaker: You're going to want to hear what he's doing.

Speaker: Eric Sanchez, this guy, he started a call center business.

Speaker: And he's doing some incredible stuff with assistants.

Speaker: He runs a call center out of Columbia and just virtual selling.

Speaker: He has teams of people closing all over the place.

Speaker: Super cool story.

Speaker: He's an immigrant.

Speaker: You're going to want to hear what he has to say.

Speaker: And then Kenny Crosby, he has been in the industry with Taylor McCarthy, been running their team out in Florida.

Speaker: He's been doing it, what, 12 years or so?

Speaker: One of the longest standing people in the industry.

Speaker: Not just in solar, but of course alarms.

Speaker: So he's going to talk about longevity in the solar industry.

Speaker: So just a bit of a preview.

Speaker: Next episode that you're going to hear is actually by Josue Phillips.

Speaker: And he's going to be coming on next Tuesday.

Speaker: And, um, sorry, next Friday, tomorrow's Tuesday, get my days mixed up.

Speaker: So busy closing deals.

Speaker: Can't even remember what my own name is.

Speaker: But anyways, he's going to be on the next episode.

Speaker: Josue Phillips.

Speaker: He is from Costa Rica originally, and you're going to hit here, his story of how he came to the U S barely knew any English and

Speaker: He knew some, but had to pick up his English.

Speaker: He still has an accent.

Speaker: And he came here, started working in landscaping, had all these odd jobs, and just incredible.

Speaker: So what's really cool, if you guys haven't listened to the episodes where we've had some immigrants on, some of the previous ones are Leo Sagebin.

Speaker: He was actually one of the first guests on the show, so you're going to have to go back a year or two.

Speaker: A couple of years back, he's from Brazil.

Speaker: So he has a pretty incredible story.

Speaker: And then Christian Moroni, he's our most recent guest.

Speaker: He's also from Brazil.

Speaker: But what's really cool about these immigrants is they come in and they just have the immigrant mindset that they're going to do whatever it takes.

Speaker: Most of these guys grew up in pretty poor families.

Speaker: So it's really cool to hear their stories, the obstacles they had to overcome.

Speaker: They had to learn English.

Speaker: They had all the excuses in the world not to succeed.

Speaker: And they still did it.

Speaker: That's what's, I think, most interesting to me about Josue that's coming up.

Speaker: And then also Eric is they just have incredible stories of how they were able to overcome all the obstacles.

Speaker: overcome not knowing English very well, overcome having to speak, you know, in broken English to close their deals.

Speaker: Really, it's no excuse for us, right?

Speaker: If we can speak good English, if we're here, if we come from decent families, we should all be having success out there slinging solar.

Speaker: So make sure you tune into next episode.

Speaker: That's Josue Phillips.

Speaker: He's going to tell his story of how he came here from Costa Rica.

Speaker: How he started closing his first deals, how he started his own solar dealer eventually, his own solar company, and how he also started a call center.

Speaker: I think his call center is actually in Columbia too.

Speaker: And how he's leveraging that to increase his follow-ups, make sure his leads actually sit, and just generate more referrals and leads with his call center.

Speaker: So if any of those things interest you, make sure you guys are sharing the episodes.

Speaker: I want to thank everyone that has been sharing it, that's been leaving us reviews and ratings.

Speaker: Would much appreciate it if you haven't taken the time to leave a review on either Spotify or iTunes or both.

Speaker: Be much appreciated and share it.

Speaker: We've been getting more downloads than we ever have, more listens.

Speaker: So just really want to thank all of our solopreneurs from the bottom of my heart.

Speaker: It's what keeps this show going with your support.

Speaker: And also thanks to our sponsors, Pi Syndicate.

Speaker: If you need help with your finances, getting them in order.

Speaker: Make sure you hit them up.

Speaker: Make sure you tell them you heard about them from Solar Printerer.

Speaker: And let's go close a lot of deals, guys.

Speaker: So that's the episode.

Speaker: Tune in next time for Josue Phillips.

Speaker: Go download the Sun Path app.

Speaker: So I'll just go, yeah, Suns Path.

Speaker: Let me know what you think of it.

Speaker: Let me know if you think it's better than Sunseeker, if you have been using that app.

Speaker: And that's it, guys.

Speaker: That's a wrap.

Speaker: So we will see you on the next one.

Speaker: Peace.
