Chris: Welcome back to another episode of Mythic Draft Podcast. I'm Chris.

whatsnow: And I'm a happily not snowed in Ron.

Chris: How did it finally melt?

whatsnow: Oh my god. Finally.

whatsnow: Well, and then we're supposed to get snow Monday.

Chris: Yeah, I saw that.

whatsnow: They say.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Not going to be that bad, but still.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. yeah i Look, this last one, it was nice that it didn't really hang around down here.

whatsnow: Yeah, well, it didn't even stick to the roads up here.

Chris: le yeah yeah yeah i spent my uh 12 hours in the virtual command center sunday night yeah finally felt sleep little bit after one

whatsnow: You guys got hammered and we got snow.

whatsnow: Which was nice for me.

whatsnow: Ooh.

whatsnow: What's the virtual command center? Do you have a VR goggles and you sit around and operate a board?

Chris: yes yes yes no

Chris: Yeah, no, they use, the county uses like, Adobe platform from 1903. And yeah, they're

Chris: and yeah they're supposed to be representatives from the major agencies that don't really communicate. Yeah, but yeah, yeah it was what it was.

Chris: yeah.

whatsnow: Have you ever, or this is really inside baseball, because you and I are now in the parts of our career where we've done some of this stuff.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Have you ever actually found use in any the emergency operations yet?

Chris: No.

whatsnow: It's all terrible.

Chris: it is. guess i mean if you're one of those maniacs in a wildfire like out west.

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: But otherwise, it's just like, i no, ah I'm going to go do my job.

whatsnow: Yeah, I get.

Chris: And when it's done, you'll know. Yeah.

whatsnow: Right. Yeah, like I've never, not only had a good experience doing that, but never had a good experience in drills with them.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Every time I have a drill with somebody who's like, oh we're doing this with intervention operation.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: I'm like, okay, so you don't really have a real job.

Chris: Right.

Chris: Yeah. Never once in my career have I been like, woof I got to reach out to the planning division to see what's going on. Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah, yeah. it's

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: I took that NIMS 400 class and I was like, this is everything that's wrong with emergency management.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: this It's crazy.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Nothing gets done.

Chris: No. And I get that you want, you know, ah single point of contact to kind of know things, but that person should just be like, yeah, hard yeah there's there's calls for service, fire department's handling that, ah police is handling their stuff.

whatsnow: Buy-in, I guess.

Chris: It's just, know, it's in the middle of a storm or whatever, but everything else is still happening normally. i mean, i get maybe for like field ops and stuff, it's like, yeah, we're

whatsnow: yeah that's

Chris: cutting more trees than normal. I don't know.

whatsnow: I don't know. i've never I've never had an experience where I was like, oh, this was worth...

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: I just look at those people like, well, we could just put you guys in the field.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: right We could actually use you out

Chris: Yeah. Well, there's like the thing, like Sunday night, I'm in the virtual command center. I'm like, I could literally be at work doing something, but no, I'm sitting, and look, you know, I was sitting in my nice house, you know,

Chris: But yeah, but again, I could have been a person out in about.

whatsnow: ah Great for you.

Chris: So yeah, yeah, yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah, it's it's it's never been ah experience for me where I'm like, this was worth the time.

Chris: I'm going to have to, yeah, I'm going to ask that Monday when i get back to work. I'm like, so when's the last time you, you know, you were on a call or something like, thank God for NIMS five or 400.

whatsnow: It's never. Never.

Chris: that

Chris: This calls for 300. No, Just no. Yeah.

whatsnow: well and and it it always felt like this is ah gotta be how do i say this correctly it always felt like it's for people who want to play firefighter

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: it's like i i want to be involved in the process too it's like oh that's cute well here's your little nims book you go through and we'll be out here fighting the fire

Chris: Right. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Yeah.

Chris: Right. Yeah.

whatsnow: know like it just never felt great

Chris: me Yeah, I just, ah again, i think maybe it's something fine for like, you know, city planners and stuff like that, but like boots on the street, if the fire department has a need, it's going to be, you know, it's going to go up through our chain and then over to whoever to say, Hey, yeah, the fire department needs, you know ah a John vote or whatever.

whatsnow: Yeah, like, I have no problem with the, what is that, the JSOB board or whatever. It has all the equipment, you know. That's cool that there's somebody who's there to do that.

Chris: Right. Yeah.

whatsnow: I don't need to be involved in that.

Chris: No.

whatsnow: I just need to have that guy's phone number say, hey, get me a hovercraft, right?

Chris: Right. Yeah.

whatsnow: Like, that I don't need anything more than that, you know.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: it's It's always felt weird.

Chris: Yeah. God. Or that's the other thing. Oh, God. Maybe I'll do this. Start doing that next week. Yeah. Like a training guy. Hey, I think we need to do this and that.

Chris: I don't see an ICS form. guess you don't really want it.

whatsnow: Yeah, yeah. I mean, I need to see an ICS request. And like, it always blew my mind because when you do all those classes, they're like, and remember, you're really planning for the next operational period. The next eight hours is like, I'm only planning for how I'm going to the station to take a crap.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Like, I don't,

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: my life does not operate on this schedule.

Chris: Right. Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: Never has, never will, can't.

Chris: Right. Yeah. but Let's see. Yeah, because the fire department is going to yeah, we'll probably get to put that out in about eight hours. No, we handle the situation.

whatsnow: Yeah, exactly.

Chris: And we yeah if we can't mitigate it, then we do everything in our power to continue to mitigate it until it's done.

whatsnow: Right, yeah. We don't sit here and have meetings about planning what we're going to do.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. Right. Yeah.

whatsnow: Here's here's the bad news, folks. We barely think at all.

whatsnow: We kind of just do.

Chris: Yeah, well, I mean, because that's the thing, though, with emergency services, you can't you can only be but so proactive.

whatsnow: Yes.

Chris: ah It's.

whatsnow: You can preplane everything in the world and go on the call that's nothing like you thought it was going to be.

Chris: Right. Yeah, exactly. it i mean, it is like the embodiment of everybody has a plan to they get punched in the mouth.

whatsnow: Mm-hmm.

Chris: Because, yeah. g Did we have anything in our plans that said a tree was going to fall and, you know, damage an aerial and an engine no no no but on the list yeah yeah no no it's just yeah and again were those guys saying oh you know well you know tomorrow morning you know the next eight hours we gotta do this no like you said they're like this house is on fire we're putting it out and then we're we're either going to clear for the next available call or go back to his station and change your underwear because a tree just fell.

whatsnow: No, don't think that was on our list. Off to look on the bingo board.

whatsnow: yeah we And yet somehow...

whatsnow: ah Yeah. yeah i I'm for sure that the driver of one of those pieces probably shit himself.

Chris: I don't think so. Cause he doesn't really poop.

whatsnow: That's fair. That's fair.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Moves once every six months like a bear.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. I do know there was a certain captain who almost did because yeah, they were around the other side of the engine.

whatsnow: Yeah. But you know, the the funny thing is like that happened, right?

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: And I came to work two days later, operations in the fire department, except for one minor thing of ruining my ocd was perfectly fine and well where was engine one

Chris: What ruined your OCD?

Chris: Oh, because it was running out of headquarters.

whatsnow: yes engine one's running out of headquarters and engine two is running out of station one and i was just like can't handle this my

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Chris: yeah

Chris: Well, you know, if if we had certain things aligned, you would still go out as Engine 1. They would go out as Engine 16.

whatsnow: That is impossible.

Chris: But, yeah.

whatsnow: No one can handle that.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: It's only been ah um something we talked about for 20 years.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. I just, yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: Literally impossible.

Chris: But, yeah, that was, like, and like you talk about, that night when it happened. Cool. Yeah, I get the phone call. Hey, this fell. Okay. Anybody get hurt? Nope. Sweet.

Chris: Can you drive back to the station? Yep. All right. See you tomorrow. Cause what else are we going to do?

whatsnow: just You just handle it. that's all we That's all we do in the fire service.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: We just just handled it.

Chris: Maybe that could be your retirement gig. You can, you know, the real ICS 300.

whatsnow: They know do not want me doing that. There's a lot of things they don't want me doing. That's definitely one of them. i

Chris: i don't know though can you imagine uh what's his face from cambridge mike uh shit

whatsnow: Oh, um... whatever mike's last we shouldn't say his last name we shouldn't blow him up anyway yeah

Chris: yeah yeah yeah but i mean super smart guy he teaches his class and everything but i bet you if we sat down really bullshit with him he'd be like yeah you're absolutely right yeah yeah

whatsnow: it's it's bullshit we all know it's bullshit yeah it's it's yeah it we don't do any of it yeah i'm taking that

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: blue card class and you know it's make sure you have your worksheet and you're filling your worksheet out for the for the class it's like what i'm sorry i'm getting off the engine with my clipboard instead of you know my tools

Chris: Oh yeah.

Chris: ah Yeah.

Chris: Right. Well, because what blue card is made for is, you know, a department with a compliment of, you know, 88 people going to every call.

whatsnow: and and at least three chiefs at least yeah

Chris: Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. With, and each of them has a scribe. Yeah.

whatsnow: Yes. Well, they have chiefs that are scribes for other chiefs.

whatsnow: that's how they That's how they roll.

Chris: Yeah. yeah Yeah. Unless you're in like Phoenix or FDNY ain't happening.

whatsnow: No, no, no. sweetly We don't have time.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: No, but it's also, it's not needed.

whatsnow: And somehow, no, and somehow the fires still go out.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: You know, it's just like that conversation. we you know, somehow our fire department operated with one engine and two ambulances for all those years.

whatsnow: And things just got handled. And now we're like, oh, my God, we're dropping off the fourth person on the truck. This is a travesty. Guys, we used to go to fires with three people.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: I'm not saying that was right.

Chris: Yeah. Right.

whatsnow: It's not.

Chris: But yeah, it's, it's also not the sky is falling.

whatsnow: now yeah

Chris: Yeah. I'm all for, yeah. Let's have, you know, as many people, as many people as you need to be safe, get the job done more efficiently, you know, cause, and, The goal is for everybody to go home at the end of this shift and retire out and milk the system until you know, you're 108 years old.

whatsnow: yep 100 the plan it's just boy the conversations i have with some people like

Chris: But Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: guys are bonkers

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: and it's fine like you should be looking towards things that are safer a lot of shit we did was not safe but boy it's not a big deal if we staff an ambulance instead of the fourth person on the truck

Chris: yes absolutely right

Chris: yeah right uh well say we had the conversation this morning we were talking about engines and think back to like when we started like

whatsnow: I know. and I can't say these things. I'm ah im a card-carrying member of the union. Yeah. Yep.

Chris: engine 210 engine four and engine five. The two old pierces and that old American, that old American La France, I can guarantee you to this day is still running.

whatsnow: Probably.

Chris: Yeah, but they don't make them like that anymore.

whatsnow: Well, yeah, you know, they also didn't have roll protection and seatbelts.

Chris: But I'm talking about the motor and the drive train and the pump.

whatsnow: Yeah, that that all of that is true.

Chris: why aren't those made, you know, to that beefiness anymore?

whatsnow: Well, because we wanted to have computer-operated pumps and...

Chris: a

whatsnow: automatic governors and you know like we all wanted the cool you know cruise control on the motor and you know it's like well yeah but those when you add those things to these motors into the pump panels it makes them more complex and then they have all these problems you know our old governors were literally a switch you know and you

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah.

Chris: Yeah. I can remember. Oh my God. I feel like a dinosaur now. Cause i remember when we got those two new engines and they were talking about, yeah, they got these automatic governors. don't trust that garbage as a computer thing. or Tell me what to do. ah No, but I'm not using that.

whatsnow: I remember we got the first set of twins, the first new set of twins, and they had the the push button, you know, little LCD panel to increase pressure.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah.

Chris: Oh my gosh.

whatsnow: And I was like, this is awful.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Where's my little knob? I need my knob.

Chris: Yeah. Oh my gosh. Yeah. It was so nice. You just cranked it out. And then if in a hurry, you could slam it in.

whatsnow: yeah. yeah it just

Chris: God. Oh, Pierce. If you're listening, build an old engine like that.

whatsnow: They're not.

whatsnow: They won't.

Chris: God, you imagine that?

whatsnow: Nobody would buy it. Nobody would buy it.

Chris: Just, I would.

whatsnow: i

Chris: Can you imagine that? They said, yep, this is a working engine.

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah, it's got airbags. It's got, you know, safety belts and all that. But the pump, yeah, it's a cable-drawn system. You got a manual governor.

whatsnow: You know what makes me crazy in the fire department now? when the packing on the pump is leaking and we act like it's an emergency right if the if that wasn't tripping on the packing to keep the packing wet you were like oh we gotta send this thing to the shop

Chris: my gosh.

Chris: We used to have pumpers that if it wasn't leaking, there was a problem.

Chris: yeah yeah god you remember what was it that one engine it was like oh yeah it's supposed to drip x amount of times per minute or some shit

whatsnow: yeah

whatsnow: yeah we never think about those engines the arrows we never sent those to the shop ever they were never out of service ever ever well yeah we agree yeah think about god rest its soul the old a16-2 the old box ford you know that i mean ran forever forever i don't i don't know

Chris: unless the one time it was like in an accident or something but yeah

Chris: Oh my gosh.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: 800,000 miles on it you know and treated like dog shit.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah.

whatsnow: we Nobody treated those animals as nicely.

Chris: No.

whatsnow: And you know what? It ran until it basically caught fire.

Chris: so yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But that's the thing.

whatsnow: it

Chris: Yeah. Like we did not. yeah You would try to take care of that ambulance and he would get mad at you.

whatsnow: Yeah. Yeah.

Chris: god It's like you washed it and it's like beat you.

whatsnow: yeah we the The dirt kept all the paint on.

whatsnow: yeah we yeah

Chris: Yeah. yeah Yeah. The door won't close. Yep. B-shift cleaned it. Yeah.

whatsnow: yeah yeah it was just it's just a ah different i don't know different animal and it's like what happened what happened that ambulance but then as soon as we got those internationals it all went it all went downhill

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah. yeah

Chris: Oh gosh, the freight shakers. Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: Or my theory, as soon as we got a contract with Atlantic, everything needed maintenance all the time. it It seems like if you just didn't do the maintenance, the thing ran by itself.

whatsnow: Start doing maintenance, it all gets screwed up.

Chris: Yeah. yeah

whatsnow: you know You know, we're doing the right thing.

Chris: i remember the one. Do you remember when we had the mechanic that would come to the station? Corey.

whatsnow: Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah.

Chris: I remember the one time I can't remember what unit it was. He was like, I can't explain it, but it's making its own oil. I mean, just keep running it. We're like, okay.

whatsnow: We had a gold mine.

Chris: He's like, it doesn't make sense, but it's still working and it's going to work.

whatsnow: sure

whatsnow: There was oil was going into the coolant system.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: What? Cool. But it just ran.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: just it just operated. Like we didn't. those load Those arrows. We didn't do diddly dick too. You barely checked them. You ran them outside.

Chris: right yeah yeah yeah

whatsnow: You turned them on. Done.

whatsnow: There's a part of me that really yearns for those days of the fire department.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: Like Donnie and I were talking the other day about, like when we got here, you didn't train all day. You didn't. You barely trained. They were like, that's a fire engine. Get your ass on it. Give it a call.

Chris: yeah yeah

whatsnow: And I'm not saying that's right.

Chris: Right.

whatsnow: But boy, was a better job.

Chris: Yeah. But, but also you talk about like the training. Oh my God. There's people listening going, yeah, I've tuned out, but it for the training, it was your Lieutenant or most of the time is your acting Lieutenant.

Chris: And it was, hey guys, let's, you know, we'll drive around downtown. We'll, you know, pre-plan stuff or it was, Hey,

whatsnow: Sure.

Chris: Let's, you know, pull, it it was stuff that was for your company.

whatsnow: over okay

Chris: It wasn't, oh, well, that you know, the truck's doing this, so we need to do, no. Yeah, the truck does their truck stuff. We're doing our stuff.

whatsnow: we didn't have a truck back then you know we just

Chris: Yeah, yeah. And then when we did have a truck, they were the jerks of the world.

whatsnow: they were the tricks nothing's changed i always said i got lucky i got assigned to the engine company but if i was assigned to the truck company be like fuck those engine guys

Chris: yeah Yeah, well.

Chris: Yep.

Chris: yeah Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: Those guys suck.

Chris: Oh, is it too warm in there?

whatsnow: Truck rules.

Chris: Let me cut a hole for you.

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Oh, you pushers can't get the door. let me open it for you.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, you know, we all know engine company's the best company.

Chris: Oh, yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: I'm just excited that my fire station might finally have some gym equipment again that was not built in 1962.

Chris: Yep.

Chris: that's I'm still going to print out like exercise pictures of guys with afros.

whatsnow: yeah we will miss them when we're one they're gone

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: and they're going to another firehouse which is oh spas possibly going to another firehouse which i was blown away by it when they were like hey we don't even have any gym equipment in firehouse i'm like what kind of firehouse doesn't have gym equipment that's what you're doing wrong yeah and even at old station one we had i brought crap in and we just worked out from there you know

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah. Right. You remember even the old headquarters, we had stuff down in the cage.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: is

Chris: Yeah. I mean, when you and I started, it was the old triangle weights. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yep.

whatsnow: the big the big big metal balls on ah for a barbell

Chris: Yeah. Uh-oh. ah rl

Chris: ah

whatsnow: all of our shirts were but you know it's like just one sleeve and it was a like a unitard that was our uniform man speaking uniforms i got a gripe about salisbury fire department

Chris: ah yeah yeah yeah uo

Chris: okay yes yes yeah which whichever way you want to spin it yeah

whatsnow: so i'm i'm doing my blue card class that you guys make me do or asked me to do shouldn't make they made i've been voluntold to do and they got videos from phoenix fire department now they're a little older these videos these guys are in like sweatpants and sweatshirts and t-shirts and sweatshorts they're not wearing blue pants with garrison belts and

Chris: yeah yeah

whatsnow: all this crap, I want to go back to that world.

Chris: Well, the guys that were in the sweatpants or sweatshorts, they just got done at the gym. That's why they, you they had, ah they were in the gym, they were last out, but their unit got called. So they had to go on it. Yeah.

whatsnow: Is that what it is

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. That's what it is.

whatsnow: All of them are in that though.

Chris: Yes. Yes. I would not want to wear sweatpants at work with those animals.

whatsnow: It's fair.

Chris: ah Come on, man.

whatsnow: It's fair.

Chris: Because we are all, when you get down to it, a bunch of little kids.

whatsnow: It's true.

Chris: And it would be one of those things where, you know, yeah, you're the Lieutenant on the engine, you're talking to the media and your chauffeur comes in pants. You yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah, that's fair.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: that's That's a good point. There's a reason I don't talk to the media right there.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Just for that reason. Because I know that my driver would pants me.

whatsnow: My driver would not dare pants me. I would suplex her.

Chris: I don't know. She probably suplex you.

whatsnow: I feel like I can still establish dominance and kick the crap out of everybody on my shift.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Currently.

Chris: ah Well, the it's because your nozzle guy is 110. Yeah. He's

whatsnow: Is he 110? Maybe?

Chris: ah he's at least 80. Yeah.

whatsnow: oh oh you meant old age. oh yeah I thought you were talking about the new Nozzle guy who's like 110 pounds.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Oh, no, no, no, no. no no no no i was about

whatsnow: Oh, yeah. Pop-up is...

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: we don't really let him ride the nozzle we just kind of like oh yeah you're still fireman yeah yeah here's your applesauce

Chris: yeah no your new kid he yeah yeah

whatsnow: get another one doesn't party doesn't go out after work i not a drunkard who's on with these kids

Chris: Yeah. Can you imagine some of these? Yeah. Like we would get off at seven o'clock in the morning and go quote unquote play golf.

whatsnow: Yeah, golf.

Chris: And yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah, that they don't do that stuff, man.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: They're all, like, boring. Like, I'm gonna go to the gym. Ugh.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Terrible.

Chris: Yeah. Terrible. Hmm.

Chris: Well, you're ready for topic one?

whatsnow: Sure. Topic one is kind of a to me, sad.

Chris: no.

whatsnow: Xbox announced this week that Phil Spencer has been shit canned.

Chris: Yeah, and and Sarah Bond left like that.

whatsnow: Mr. Xbox.

whatsnow: Well, apparently that was also a you're out too.

Chris: Yeah, I think that was... ah yeah Yeah, I don't know if this is part of your topic, but I don't know. The reason she left, it's maybe one day we'll find out, but I don't know if it was one of those. She saw the writing on the wall and it was one of those, hey, Phil's leaving and we need you to whoever's stepping up to present this shit sandwich to everybody and, you know, fall on the spear. And she's like, out.

whatsnow: I just, my topic was, because Phil Spencer, to me, because I guess I'm, what, side tangent to this, I just thought about it the other day. Like, I haven't upgraded my Xbox.

whatsnow: I have Xbox One. I haven't turned it on in forever now. Because I don't even use, I don't use Xbox like that anymore, but...

Chris: yeah yeah you're literally one of the play anywhere people yeah yeah

whatsnow: but yeah I'm a Play Anywhere person at this point. which Phil pioneered that to me, so I'm like, oh, that's great. But apparently, i guess a hardware company like Xbox isn't so happy about that anymore.

whatsnow: But he's like Mr. Xbox to me. He's been... before

Chris: i mean he was the he he was a gamer's gamer

whatsnow: Yeah, he he well, he started as like ah a commentator, right, for Xbox, basically.

Chris: Yeah, right.

whatsnow: He was like an Xbox Live community coordinator or something.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Community coordinator back in the day. was like and he was very involved. And I I will give credit. I have no I don't really know anything about the new person except that they were in charge of like an AI thing beforehand.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: And the first thing they did was link their gamer tag. cool you know but try to get some credit with them yeah that's the person but they

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Asha Sharma. Yeah. What did she, yeah, there was something else that she did before.

whatsnow: i know that she came from like microsoft ai's programs to now she's the head of xbox

Chris: Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: you know hopefully they can write their ship i don't know what the ship is anymore and that's it that's literally my topic is because like what has xbox even become because i don't know like i can look at sony playstation and say i know what sony playstation is sony playstation is a company that's going to make an inferior product and they're going to hold off on putting out the playstation 6 as long as possible

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: and they're gonna have some really weird ips and they don't want to work with anybody

Chris: ah

Chris: because the reason is they haven't had to yeah

whatsnow: it's true it's true they haven't had to but i that it's true well that the difference i think

Chris: i mean that's why nintendo can keep making its weird ass decisions

whatsnow: The difference between Nintendo and Sony to me is that Nintendo isn't trying where Nintendo, Sony is.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: Like Nintendo seems perfectly fine. Like, oh, we'll make our market share and that's it. Like they that they have no skin in the game of like changing that.

Chris: yeah yeah it's biting them in the ass though i mean they've just shut down two more studios recently so yeah

whatsnow: Sony seems like we got to dominate everything. Yeah.

whatsnow: and that's what Xbox is like, right?

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: Xbox decided they were going to have Xbox gaming studios and they just bought up all these studios and then shut them down.

Chris: yeah yeah yep

whatsnow: And it's, I don't, I don't know what the gaming industry is going to be now.

Chris: yeah oh that's what it was asha sharma was the coo of instacart before this yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so yeah i look i've always been a sony guy but yeah seeing

whatsnow: Whoa. It's fun.

whatsnow: People use that. Yeah.

Chris: When I heard that Phil was, you know, leaving, it's just, it's so weird. I mean, like you say, it's somebody like Phil Spencer. Yeah.

whatsnow: yeah

Chris: If this was a planned thing, you think it would be, oh, you know, what we're going to announce that at the end of, you know, in six months, Phil's stepping out. and He's going to, you know, pass the reins on to so-and-so and it's going to be this transition period.

Chris: It was just Phil's out, Sarah Bond's out. Here's Asha.

whatsnow: yeah and that was weird to me uh on top of

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: everything on but also like looking at going cool now what you know what is because they didn't the one thing they didn't do was like announce anything they didn't come out and say and this is what we're gonna do with xbox now

Chris: Yeah. yeah

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Right. Yeah.

whatsnow: which feels like Sony, the way you want to look at it, either won or lost the console war, right?

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Because it feels like now Xbox isn't even in the console business.

Chris: Yeah. It's just, I mean, I still don't understand why there wasn't a bigger halo push this year

whatsnow: I believe so.

Chris: or, well, yeah, but I mean, yeah, but I mean, you talk about, you know, what is Xbox doing?

whatsnow: The Fallout debacle...

Chris: Like you said, they bought, they own Bethesda now, right?

whatsnow: ah believe so

Chris: Yeah. I mean, oh, The Fallout TV show is doing wonderful. Hey, look, here's a new Fallout game. Here's the remaster of Fallout 4. Stuff like that. yeah the bit Use what's you know hot right now.

whatsnow: the fallout debacle is crazy to me nothing was done nothing look i get the first season you weren't prepared for it but you kind of had to know it was going to be something you know and then you

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Chris: Right. And with the second season leading into whatever anniversary it was, it was like, come on.

whatsnow: i did nothing yeah um i think some of that is bethesda being bethesda you know

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah. Well, yeah. Oh, we got elder Elder Scrolls six coming out.

whatsnow: Do we?

Chris: Yeah. 2032. Yeah. I don't believe it.

whatsnow: Do we?

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Do we?

Chris: Yeah. i don't believe it

whatsnow: We have Elder Scrolls remasters coming out. We've got that.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: Cool. Like, that's something...

Chris: wait but But Bavisda didn't do that.

whatsnow: No, that's all we've gotten.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: And they made the comment the other day, was it Morrowind? I think it's Morrowind. They said, we're not going to remaster Morrowind because we don't think people would like it in this world environment.

Chris: Hmm. Hmm.

whatsnow: so But you're not putting anything out.

Chris: Right, yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: how you How do you make money?

Chris: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah, Starfield was a colossal piece of crap.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Sorry.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. It it was not, you what people wanted.

whatsnow: It looked like ass.

Chris: Well, yeah.

whatsnow: It made me think my computer was broken because the video, because it looks so bad. I was like, this can't be the game.

Chris: Right.

whatsnow: It has to be my, and then I'm like looking at other people's and it's like no, it looks like somebody smeared Vaseline all over their monitor.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: it It's awful.

Chris: Eye doctors were so busy that week, everybody felt they had glaucoma.

whatsnow: Yeah. Everybody had to be like, Either that or like the video card markets crashed because everybody's like, I have to buy a new video card because this clearly is a problem.

Chris: Yeah. yeah

Chris: Right. Yeah.

whatsnow: It was so bad. And

Chris: Yeah. I'm going update my drivers.

whatsnow: look, i'm goodnna I use Game Pass pretty regularly.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: pay for the Game Pass. though They have started to de-shittify it, so it's starting to get worse, which is is going to be a problem in the future.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: Right.

whatsnow: But I love that I play Xbox games on my PC. I don't really... I'm not in the console game anymore.

Chris: Right.

whatsnow: So I'm not shitting on Xbox. I just want to know what the fuck the plane is. Language.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, seriously, if you're going to get out of it, the hardware market, just say it.

whatsnow: Yeah, just say we're out.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Say we're going to be a game studio. We're going put a new Halo out every three years.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: We're going to put a new, you know, I said we're putting out Marathon, which, cool.

Chris: Right.

Chris: this weekend's the server slam yeah i well so think i've talked about on here before but yeah i was part of the alpha for marathon i yeah it's just not my cup of tea i'm not an an extraction shooter guy and like buddies of mine that

whatsnow: Sure.

whatsnow: Mm-hmm.

Chris: I used to play destiny with a lot. They're like, oh yeah, we're to download it and everything. And like three of them already like, yeah, already uninstalled it. I played like three rounds, got my teeth kicked in. i don't like extraction.

whatsnow: right.

Chris: So, but it'd be cool. Yeah. If that's your thing, you know, go for it. But yeah, but like Xbox, you've got, yeah, your Bethesda stuff, uh, force is big, right?

whatsnow: Force is huge.

Chris: I mean, that's one of the best racing games out there.

whatsnow: okay

Chris: Um, you've got the Microsoft simulator stuff.

whatsnow: Which they put out free last time-ish.

Chris: did Yeah. Something like that. um We haven't heard anything from gears.

whatsnow: They did put out Avowed. No.

Chris: um

whatsnow: No Gears. Let's see.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: I'm looking at what they own. Halo, Gears, Psychonauts. There is going new Fable game. That's coming out soon-ish.

Chris: Yeah. But I heard it's, different like it but but but i mean like the um morality system isn't the same at all which was a huge part of that yeah

whatsnow: Well, Fables are...

whatsnow: seeing what else stands out.

whatsnow: The Dipup BattleTech game last year was pretty good.

Chris: um minecraft yeah

whatsnow: Yes, they do own Minecraft, which I guess still makes money.

Chris: yeah yeah uh sea of thieves they didn't really do anything with that

whatsnow: It still goes. still has people that love it.

Chris: yeah yeah right it just you would think though you know lean into you know halo and gears and forza don't they tangentially own something with call of duty

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: Like Activision or something.

whatsnow: Oh, maybe.

Chris: i don't know. But yeah, I mean, just, yeah. But like you said, you know hey, yeah here's here's our roadmap. you know It's going to be these main tentpole games. And that's our big push. And it's yeah you you can use it on Game Pass and PC six months before you can play it anywhere else.

whatsnow: Apparently, they're putting out Halo standalone multiplayer game.

Chris: Really?

whatsnow: Yep.

Chris: Hadn't heard of it.

whatsnow: I hadn't heard anything about it.

whatsnow: And they're

whatsnow: going to do a re-remaster of Halo CE. Cool.

Chris: Halo Studios reported developing a new standalone live service Halo multiplayer game, potentially launching as early as 2026 to act as a long-term, rapidly updated platform. Hmm.

whatsnow: just There are people who love the Halo multiplayer world.

Chris: Hmm.

Chris: Mm-hmm.

whatsnow: ah

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: I enjoy the Halo campaigns, but I know that I'm an old man. and

Chris: Yeah, I mean, that's yeah Destiny. I enjoy the PvE part of Destiny. I dabble a little bit into the you know the multipplay the raids and stuff like that. But for the most part, yeah, just, yeah, Space Gun go pew pew.

whatsnow: Space Gun Go Pew Pew is in fact correct.

Chris: Yeah. Right.

whatsnow: I just, I don't know, man. It feels like a weird world for an Xbox and i could I could see Microsoft being like, we're done.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: you know

Chris: Yeah. I mean, is this, and I can't remember cause we were too young at the time, but like Atari, is this kind of what Atari did?

whatsnow: I mean, remember when Atari just what they just sold their name right they weren't even anything left anymore right yeah they'd be just a name and i i guess it could be become xbox right um i mean bungee is just a name right because nobody works at bungee anymore who was a bungee person you know it definitely shows you know

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, because like Atari was, yeah yeah, I remember seeing it like on the side of a game. I'm like, how the hell is this Atari?

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Chris: No. No, it shows.

Chris: But again, I think that's part of it, well like you said earlier, where Sony tried to get you know be the all knowing, all powerful. And it's like, yeah, just let Bungie be Bungie.

whatsnow: Yes. Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: let

Chris: It's cool that you, eat ah yep. Hey, we, you know, we bought your studio. We're, you know, giving you money to fund projects, but keep doing the good stuff you're doing. But instead it was, no, everything's gotta be, you know, live service and to you need to work on this.

Chris: And then this gets shuttered and there was supposed to be a new update for destiny.

whatsnow: I don't want to.

Chris: There's supposed to be one coming out in 11 days or 12 days from now. And now it's been pushed to June 9th.

whatsnow: they were done

Chris: No. Well, I mean, we got our lightsabers. I mean, we have to do more with that.

whatsnow: I understand that, but then they said they were done, and then now they're not done, which is fine.

Chris: but but but But part of it's also, I'm sure, is, you know, oh, look at all the money we made with, you know, putting in the lightsabers and stuff.

whatsnow: Oh, yeah. It will become Fortnite.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: Yeah, 100%. you'll You'll have the next you know nerd thing to nerd out about for Destiny. But like I can say, i don't want to say this out loud, but I have to say it to be truthful to myself.

whatsnow: I didn't really enjoy The Last Halo.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: The Last Halo was an experience that was like, this is not Halo.

Chris: Right.

whatsnow: And that hurts. Because I'm a Halo guy.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: here

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: You know, I've played every Halo game, as far as I know. There might be some, you know, mobile games I didn't play. But other than that, I've played every Halo game.

whatsnow: And the last one was bad. And that, again, but you think about when was that? That was probably 10 years ago.

Chris: uh it was last halo last halo game

whatsnow: Was that Halo?

Chris: the last mainline halo game is halo infinite uh 2021 by three yeah that was by 343 yeah yeah

whatsnow: Oh, okay. So that's five years ago. And we've heard nothing since.

whatsnow: And it tells to me that a lot about when I see people playing Halo, they're playing the Master Chief Collection.

Chris: Right.

whatsnow: That tells me everything I need to know about what's going on and in the world of Halo.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah.

whatsnow: um so i mean that's another thing sony does it's oh instead of a new game we're just going remaster this other game you loved it's like yeah that's cool

Chris: Yeah. Oh my gosh. The the Last of Us 2 remaster definitive.

whatsnow: right yeah it's maybe put some new games out

Chris: Yeah. Whatever. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, that's like, I mean, It's funny, we joke about that, but then one of the studios that they owned, that was that's all they did was remasters Bluepoint. They just got rid of them.

Chris: So it's like, what the are you doing?

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: so But I think part of that was they had Bluepoint working on some kind of multiplayer, always-on thing. And it's like, no, they were a you know a remake company. They were really good at that. you know why we why are you going to make them do something else

whatsnow: but I think one of the problems is

whatsnow: and I'm not gonna blame Epic because, you know, but Fortnite did so well and it changed the perception of what gamers want.

Chris: yeah right yeah

whatsnow: It, it didn't change the reality of what we want. It changes the perception of what gamers wanted. And it's such a juggernaut that I don't know that, I don't know that they'll stop doing this stuff.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: You know, they'll stop. They still just be looking for the next Fortnite all the time.

Chris: yeah yeah yeah yeah and I think like you said yeah it's fortnight was that one off it's like you know Minecraft that was huge you fortnight huge um you don't get those all the time and I get you know if you don't swing you won't hit but don't force people to

whatsnow: You

whatsnow: Right.

whatsnow: Yeah, but the difference is you you have to swing. You don't just do the same thing that they did or try to, you know, it.

Chris: Right. Exactly. Yeah.

whatsnow: halo shouldn't be a microtransaction game right like that's what kind of annoyed me about halo infinite was like oh you've turned this into something that i have to have these booster packs to play like i know

Chris: No. No.

Chris: ah Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's because they want you to feel that FOMO and,

whatsnow: yeah i don't ever that's i guess the difference for me is i don't

Chris: Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah. No, that's Blizzard.

Chris: Diablo, is that Xbox? Yeah, it's Blizzard.

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah, so.

whatsnow: They're putting a new expansion out next month.

Chris: Yeah, okay.

whatsnow: think it's next month. Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Diablo never sets you wrong. It's always been Diablo, which is kind of all you want out of it.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: No,

Chris: Right.

whatsnow: no that Blizzard...

whatsnow: Plus it's own animal.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: You know, it still boggles my mind that, you know, World of Warcraft is like their number one IP and it's 25 years old?

Chris: Oh my gosh. Yeah.

whatsnow: When did... 04. it's 21 years old.

Chris: It's gotta be.

whatsnow: Good lord.

Chris: World of Warcraft.

whatsnow: o four it's twenty one years old twenty two years old

Chris: Wow. Okay. Yeah. come

whatsnow: lord

Chris: Weren't they supposed to be like doing a remake? Or something of vanilla.

whatsnow: They did. They did that, yeah.

Chris: OK.

whatsnow: Yeah,

Chris: There we go. Yeah.

whatsnow: There's Warcraft Classic. but But they're just... you basically They basically restarted Warcraft.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: And as the expansions come out, they just have the expansions that... So it's not even now an event it's not even vanilla anymore. It's now it's, you know, whatever.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Burning Crusade.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: ah It burns my soul that I know these things.

Chris: ah yeah

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: but yeah, i mean, God,

Chris: with Xbox, oh my gosh, with Xbox, if they really step away from the hardware business, ah Sony's going to be unbearable because there's no not going to be anybody pushing against them because no offense, Nintendo's stuff is not pushing, you know, to the edges of hardware specs.

whatsnow: Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: No.

Chris: So, I mean, other than PCs, Yeah, Sony's not going to have anything to really vet itself against.

whatsnow: Yeah. Yeah. They. Uh.

Chris: And lazy PlayStation is not a good PlayStation. So.

Chris: um

whatsnow: They also

whatsnow: seemingly have no desire to be better.

Chris: Yeah, I mean, it's um just keep going so

whatsnow: Well,

whatsnow: well I heard the other day that that they're delaying the PlayStation 6 for memory issues.

Chris: oh yeah well and i mean i get part of that is because of the ram yeah i mean we're right in the ramage phase right now where it's ridiculous how much it costs but yeah yeah

whatsnow: Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah, hey RAM's crazy right now.

whatsnow: And it's just...

whatsnow: It's a... Yeah, it's a problem. I don't know.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: I don't know what happens if Xbox just doesn't put out the new Xbox 2 or whatever the fuck they're going to call it.

Chris: Right, yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: you know I think maybe they put out a mobile game. I don't you know. i don't know

Chris: Well, weren't they talking about when their next was supposed to be like a hybrid kind of thing?

whatsnow: Yeah, it's supposed

whatsnow: I think the next thing that's supposed to come out is the the handheld version, whatever, that's supposed to play the cloud gaming.

Chris: Yeah. and Okay. And that should compete against the ROG ally and The Steam box? No, Steam.

whatsnow: Steam Deck.

Chris: What's the... Steam Deck. Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah, Steam Deck is...

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: But again, it can't be $1,000 like those two are.

whatsnow: No. It can't. It can't.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: and may I mean, hope not.

Chris: Yeah. yeah Yeah.

whatsnow: I guess I should say.

Chris: It's...

whatsnow: Well, it's sad for Phil Spencer.

Chris: Yeah.

Chris: ah Yeah. I mean, I hope he's doing well.

whatsnow: you know I'm sure he's laughing in Roth IRAs and 401k monies.

Chris: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure.

whatsnow: I'm sure when we say it's sad for Phil Spencer, he's like, I'm still a millionaire. I'm cool.

Chris: Yeah. And Phil, we know you listen, so.

whatsnow: you know Right. Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Well, on to topic two.

Chris: Sure. Topic two. um So there's a new movie out this weekend. I think it just debuted last night. I don't know.

Chris: It's the... seventh, I think in the series of scream.

whatsnow: They made a new scream.

Chris: Yes, they did. And evidently Matthew Lillard is back and like a bunch of the original characters are back.

whatsnow: Did he die?

Chris: like it I don't know, man, but it's my, my whole thing is, I mean, what, why do we go see scary movies?

whatsnow: oh well look that's a whole other my uh you gotta talk to my wife i can't answer this question she's she she subscribes to shutter which is nothing but scary movies 24 hours a day seven days

Chris: Oh, that's comforting.

whatsnow: So whenever I walk upstairs and the TV's on, it's either on Grey's Anatomy or or ah or her some sort of horror movie. Yeah.

Chris: So either way, something that's terrifying.

whatsnow: Yes. It's all bad for me. It's all bad for me.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah,

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: yeah I don't know what the thrill of scary movies is. I've never gotten it.

Chris: Yeah. I, yeah. So, I mean, I remember like when my wife and I first started dating, I thought that was just something you did. Like you watch scary movies, like on dates and stuff.

Chris: And like, can't remember. We went to see the Amityville horror in the theater and yeah, just, I don't like so what's that.

whatsnow: The Ryan Reynolds ones? Was that Ryan Reynolds?

Chris: Yes.

whatsnow: Yeah, yeah.

Chris: Yeah. Terrifying.

whatsnow: Yeah, yeah.

Chris: Yeah. Yeah. And then we walked back to our condo in the dark. um

whatsnow: Yeah, yeah.

Chris: Yeah. But I mean, I, I don't like scary things. We, we know this, but my wife is like, yeah. Oh, you know, it's, it's scream seven and it's bringing all this back and everything. ah And I was like, I mean, i guess I'll go with you. She's really, but's like, do I really want to pay money to like leave a wet spot in a theater?

whatsnow: see like scream wouldn't bother me because it's just it's not like it's not supernatural

Chris: I mean, yeah, that is the more of the just the slasher kind of thing.

whatsnow: right it's the supernatural ones that get me i don't like any of those creepy doll movie annabelle and all crap i'm out i i can't

Chris: Oh, yeah, yeah.

Chris: Uh-uh. Nope. Nope. Yeah.

whatsnow: I watched, I can't remember, it was it called Darkness Falls? when I had nightmares for months about that movie.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: And my wife's like, it's not scary. I'm like, it's to me, it is

Chris: Yeah. yeah let say my My oldest watch likes to watch scary movies. And she was...

whatsnow: That's surprising to me.

Chris: Yeah, yeah. yeah well She was home. And for some weekend, i don't know. And one, she's a maniac because everything she watches, she has subtitles on.

Chris: I'm like, ge do you not hear well, Nana? I mean, what? God, she's like, I just like to have the subtitles just in case I don't hear what they say. I can read it. I'm like, okay, they're brainchild, whatever. But she's watching.

Chris: she she i just walk into the room and she was watching a movie. And I look and it was like, don't know, just normal dressed people and everything. I was like, oh, what are you watching?

Chris: And the little shit goes, oh, it's a remake of Little House on the Prairie. That's it.

whatsnow: Ha ha ha ha ha.

Chris: Well, that's weird, but okay. So I sat down and I'm like playing on my phone. I'm like watching a little bit. I'm like, oh, this, okay. And she's like, yeah, this is supposed to be so-and-so and this is supposed to be so-and-so.

Chris: was like, okay, I'm trying to put things together. I'm like, all right. Well then I'm looking down at my phone and all of sudden I hear like music, like, cor go go or I'm like, well, that doesn't sound like Little House on the Prairie at all.

Chris: And I look up and like the screen now has a darker tint to it. and it's like the so the caption says demonic gurgling or something like that i was like what what what have they done to little house in the prairie she's like no it's actually what i don't know one of those like possession movies i was like what the hell is wrong with you and she he here so i got up and left the room i was like what the hell

whatsnow: Oh, no, I'm out. I'm out.

whatsnow: Now, I'm going to defend scary movies. Because when we were younger, scary movies and comedies equaled one thing. And what was that thing?

Chris: sleepover oh boobs oh yeah yeah i thought you meant what you did yeah oh yeah god yeah yeah there were boobs all the time yeah yeah yeah yeah

whatsnow: No. Boobs in the movie. Okay.

whatsnow: Yeah. They were boobs all the time. So that's why you watch those movies. Because they were boobs. Yeah.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: Otherwise, I'm out.

Chris: yeah it's yeah no no yeah like poltergeist and uh yeah

whatsnow: I'm not watching any of these scary movies.

whatsnow: Oh, God, no. Culture Dice is so terrifying. And that little girl dies in real life.

Chris: yeah

whatsnow: Yeah, the little girl died.

Chris: What?

whatsnow: yeah yeah yeah that's yeah that's why she's not in yes and the guy is they're digging the pool for the back of house and ends up being like an indian burial ground and he falls into the bones yeah no and then poltergeist 2 has that super creepy preacher oh god it's terrible

Chris: No.

Chris: Is that the one where they like reach through the TV? Oh, yeah.

Chris: Yes! Oh, God, yes. Oh, yeah. Yeah, The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby.

whatsnow: The Exorcist. Exorcist never really got me as bad, but Poltergeist. It's Craig T. Nelson. The man's coach, for God's sakes.

Chris: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: Hellraiser.

whatsnow: Oh, Hellraiser. I have such terrible things to show you.

Chris: Yeah, how I watched Hellraiser for a girl.

whatsnow: Oh.

Chris: Yeah, yeah.

whatsnow: fair was she into weird leather and pins oh okay

Chris: not pins.

Chris: ah Uh, yeah.

whatsnow: yeah but otherwise you're watching it for the boobs yeah yeah hey chance at boobs here you higher percentage chance of boobs therefore i'm watching this movie

Chris: But yeah. Yeah. Or a chance at boob. Yeah.

Chris: Right. Right. Yeah.

whatsnow: know one always got? Well, clearly the one that got me the worst, Jaws.

Chris: Uh, yeah.

whatsnow: You know, still the greatest movie I've ever made, the scariest movie I've ever made.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: But then I think it was Gator?

Chris: Doll's eyes.

whatsnow: Where they push the kid into the swimming pool and there's a gator in a pool?

Chris: What the hell?

whatsnow: Yeah, that one got me bad.

Chris: Gator.

whatsnow: think it was called Gator. Yeah, yeah. giant gator like comes out of the so the sewers and gets in a swimming pool it was bad yeah and the c chub yeah yeah it has burt reynolds in it yes yes yeah

Chris: Gator the movie. 1976. 1976.

Chris: It's listed as an action comedy. It's Burt Reynolds. Oh my gosh. Gator is an action adventure film directed by and it was directed by Burt Reynolds.

whatsnow: that's cool that's a fun fact

Chris: Wait, no, this has to be a different movie.

whatsnow: I don't know. There was a there's a movie.

Chris: Gator, is stars as Gator Mikulski, a moonshine runner who goes undercover for the feds to take down his childhood friend, the corrupt crime boss, Bama McCall, Jerry Reed.

whatsnow: No, that's not it.

whatsnow: No, that's not it.

Chris: Oh, it's a sequel to White Lightning.

whatsnow: Alligator eats kid in swimming pool.

whatsnow: Movie. um Alligator was the name of the movie.

Chris: Alligator.

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: Okay.

whatsnow: 1980. Yeah. Yeah.

whatsnow: Mutate alligator terrorizing a city.

Chris: Oh, yeah, yeah.

whatsnow: Yeah.

Chris: A giant hormone-enhanced alligator terrorizing the sewers of Chicago after being flushed down the toilet as a baby.

whatsnow: Yeah. And then in Chubb, there's a terrible scene where the girl takes a shower and blood comes out because of the

Chris: Duh.

whatsnow: think It's a dog is dead in the sewers. It's a weird movie.

Chris: Oh, that's not nice. Oh,

whatsnow: Yeah. He needs had some...

Chris: alligator does star Robin Riker.

whatsnow: I don't know who that is

Chris: and don't know. Robert Forster, Robin Riker, Michael Gazzo, and Sue Leon in her final role.

whatsnow: Hmm.

Chris: Oh, a cult classic that spawned a sequel, Alligator 2, The Mutation, in 1990.

whatsnow: Ooh. Never saw that one.

Chris: Alligator 2, The Mutation. Oh, wow, that's terrifying. Yeah. A giant alligator mutated by toxic chemicals dumped in the sewers by a corporation terrorizes a city leading a detective Joe baloney and a Cajun hunter Richard Lynch.

whatsnow: yeah

Chris: To team up to stop it before a town party directed by john Hess it's a PG 13.

whatsnow: the guy o Heather O'Rourke who played Carol Ann from Poltergeist died at the age of 12 1988 from a misdiagnosed intestinal obstruction while filming Poltergeist 3 yeah it's fair

Chris: Hmm.

Chris: Yeah, see, I think they just want to tell us it was a misdiagnosed bowel issue.

Chris: ah Yeah.

whatsnow: I mean, I'm on your side. Don't go to scary movies.

Chris: Pet cemetery?

whatsnow: Oh my god, Petson Artarii is terrifying. That's a terrible movie.

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: oh

Chris: Yeah.

whatsnow: God. Cujo.

Chris: Oh, yeah.

Chris: Um...
