Introduction to Solo Episode

00:00:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello everybody and welcome back to another edition of the Daily Ipswich here on the Global Sports Podcast Network, the only podcast where can get your daily Ipswich Town fix. My name is Tom and I am flying solo for today's episode with Rob and Richard enjoying their well-earned breaks on holidays and James just unable to join for this one, unfortunately, but I think the three of them will maybe say that they've picked a good episode to avoid and it is very much my job to deliver the bad news, but yep.

Match Recap: Ipswich vs Wolves

00:00:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Saturday came, Saturday's gone. We talked about how big Saturday's game against Wolves was. Obviously, all of you listening know how big this was going into it. And we fell short, didn't we? 2-1 at home to Wolves against Ipswich Town.
00:00:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
And again, we had to win to really stand any chance of survival in the Premier League. Mathematically, we are not out of it yet. But being 12 points behind with six games to go, it very much does look like the case, doesn't it?
00:01:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
On today's show, I'm going to be sort of going through the game from start to finish. We'll look at the first and second half and just give me up my thoughts on where we stand now and just certain bits that stood out to me.
00:01:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
We may have a Tactics Tuesday tomorrow, maybe just to get the guys' thoughts if James can join me for the rest of the week. I think Rich is back in the later stage week, so we'll definitely get his thoughts before you preview. Chelsea at the last stages of this week. But yes, as I said, just going through the game from start finish and then we'll sort just talk about a few things here and then where we move from here on. Because obviously, yes, we're all in pretty dampened spirits after this weekend. But, you know, there's a long think of where we were a couple of seasons ago. I've said it many times this season.
00:01:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's obviously not a nice thing to look at relegation, but obviously, especially coming off two promotions the past few years, but we're in a very good stead, I think, moving forward next season. But that's that's another conversation to have later down the line of, you know, championship previews and all that sort of stuff. We're still in the Premier League for now.
00:02:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, we'll get into the game, shall we? Let's do it.

Unchanged Lineup Surprise

00:02:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
So actually, one of the surprising things the start of this game, which but I think a lot of us were surprised to hear, what was the first unchanged XI for McKenna for the entire season in the Premier League this year.
00:02:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, we've we've talked a lot going into games and previews, and i'm sure everyone else listening has, you know, thought about what the starting XI would be, and it's always been difficult because McKenna keeps his cards close to his chest with injuries and things like that.
00:02:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I was kind of surprised because I didn't predict the same XI after Wednesday's win at Bournemouth, just purely because in a time perspective, I would have thought likes of Lee Davis would come back in, albeit he was on the bench. But the starting XI we saw against Wolves this past weekend was the same against Bournemouth. So par and goal.
00:02:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Twanzebio, Shea, Burgess, Townsend at the back. Then we saw a midfield pairing of Sam Morsi and Jens Kiyuste. Then Ben Johnson, Nathan Broadhead and CISO and obviously Liam Dillap up top. Ben Johnson kind playing that hybrid.
00:02:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right wing back role with Broadhead and CISO kind of providing the backup going in attack behind Dillap there. Our opponents, Wolves, lined up with a strong XI, obviously, albeit without their superstar, Mateus Kunia, still out due to suspension. I think this was his last game as well, but they saw Jose Soren goal, Doherty, Agbedou, Gomez at the back, Ait Nourin, Semedo for their right-wing backs, Andre and Hjalm Gomez in the centre.
00:03:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
Young Bell guard, Minetzi, and then Strand Larsson up top, who obviously did get another goal in this game, which we'll get to, but that's his... fourth in his third, fourth in three games now in the league, which is yeah great for him, but we're not a Wolves podcast. i'm not going to talk about as much as we have to. But yes, as I said, that was lineups before the game.
00:03:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Opening stage of the game, early pressure from Wolves. I think, you know, that's a bit of a shame to see. A bit more from us at the start, I guess, as well. But the first five minutes, I think the chances we had compared to Wolves' first chance in the first 10 minutes, so they very much were much more threatening as a chance from Bellegarde that just went over the post but nothing too threatening but you know I would have liked to see us maybe set the pace a lot earlier and almost go for the goal as quickly as possible considering you know mistakes and us being at home as well corners on both sides here and there nothing too threatening from either end really i mean we had a few kind of headed on to try to go into the middle and you know just kind of find a goal as quickly as possible really but
00:04:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
we did score early.

Controversial VAR Decision

00:04:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, 16th minute, Liam De Lappe, obviously, getting a goal, which I think, considering a run of play, it was a fairly 50-50 game, but, you know, with Liam De Lappe up top, you've always got a good chance of scoring goal, and he did exactly that.
00:04:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Ball in, and then a great header across the face from Dierre O'Shea. I thought, you know, just talk about him quickly. He... most headers in this game, especially in the first half, he was winning and it was really, really helpful for us both to defend both defensively and attacking. And with his header, he was able to get it down nicely to Liam Deleup, who poked it through Saar's legs to give us the early lead.
00:04:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
And obviously, with it being an early lead, the pressure mounts even more. And, you know, you can start to dream slightly. I'm sure everyone at Portman Road did and those watching did it as well. And, you know you can start to think maybe, is this going to happen? Like, can we hold on for a victory? Obviously, we'll get into the thoughts the game as we go on. But winning or leading, I should say, at that point in the game as we moved on to around the 20th minute, we saw obviously us, I think, kind of sitting back. Actually, before we go into moving on from there, the length of the VAR, I texted Rob and the rest of the guys in our sort of podcast chat after Dillap scored.
00:05:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
With them being the glaring weight for the goal to be confirmed after a VAR decision, I thought the length of this was a bit ridiculous because it it was clearly onside with De Lamp being behind for defender and also O'Shea's pass as well. i don't know why it took that long.
00:05:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
we will be in the championship next year, but the AR is still an issue, I think. And hopefully when come back the Premier League in a year or years or so time, I'd like to think with the automated offsides and things that coming through, that the length of these weights for decisions is going to be decreased now because, you know, some sports, it works having these lengthy weights like in the NFL and a few things like that. But in the Premier League with fast paced nature of it,
00:05:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
It really does halt momentum down of both celebrations for the fans, the players, and just the old momentum of the game. But yeah, as I said, regardless of the VAR, Waite still apted score to give Townley in the 16th minute.
00:06:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Moving on, obviously Wolves, who did have a good start for game as well, were still looking to get a goal as well and a good block from O'Shea in around the 20th minute. And then a few more defensive ch blocks from us as well.
00:06:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Before we actually start to go forward a bit more again, with a long range effort from Sam Morsi, which was you know relatively speculative, but good to see him trying to go for goal there. It was almost actually a similar length to when he scored his only goal this season at St Mary's against Southampton earlier this season.
00:06:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Moving on to around the half hour mark of the game and neither side really threatened the net around that point, but we did see, it and again, it may not be a big moment in the game, all things considered, but one thing I liked was a tracked back tackle from Hulu and Ciso, which he then sort of threw his arms to the crowd just to say, come on, let's let's let's do this thing. Let's win this together. And it was great to see, especially from a lone player. You know, he's only been at the club since January and he's had a lot of injuries already, to be honest, but you can see he's already connected with the crowd and the fan base and,
00:07:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
everything that McKenna's told him he's kind of bought into it. So that was really good to see. you know or most likely he will not be an Ipswich player next season, but he's he's been fairly decent servant in the time he's been at the club. So it's good see him showing his passion to the crowd there.
00:07:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then around the 36th minute, which, you know, may have been the most scary, entertaining, confusing, whatever moment you want to call it, of the game, with what looked like a routine back pass to Alex Palmer, who has been very, very consistent for us since signing. more Obviously, yeah results haven't gone away, but, you know, he's very much been a much more reliable hand in terms of distribution and saves and all things you should expect from a goalkeeper.
00:07:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
But he almost had an absolute howler with a pass back that he failed to control with going underneath his foot and it slowly then creeping towards the goal with a very much heart in mouth moment. I'm pretty sure every Ipswich fan in the stadium and around the world saw that and was thinking please do not leave us the way we concede or Wolves equaliser but luckily Palmer did manage to get a palm to it to take the ball out.
00:08:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it was a very, very scary moment. There was a brief time when I thought it did cross the line, but you saw in the replays, it absolutely did not. But what this did lead to with Palmer getting his hand to it as opposed to his foot, it was then considered a pass back, which in the laws of the game, the pass backs taking kind of the free kick, the indirect to free kick is taking from sort of where the ball was positioned leading to another hairy moment around just after Palmer's almost huge mishap was Wolves getting a indirect free kick. I'd say about four or five yards in front of our goal.
00:08:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
which led to one of the oddest sort of formations you'll ever see in football. It's a rarity when it happens, but it's a funny sight to see, that's for sure. Our entire team, including the goalkeeper, of course, glued to the goal line, ready to pounce on ball after the indirect pass was taken from the Wolves player.
00:08:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think Palmer at one point did try to pounce too early, which resulted in a yellow card for him, which the crowd were obviously not happy about. And then i believe, i think it was Ait Nori who rolled the ball off. He may be the one that to actually shoot. I apologise if I got it wrong there. But a big, big cheer from the crowd as our skipper Sam Morsi ran in and did what he does best and blocked the shot.
00:09:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then really from then on, I think it was just kind of waiting for the end of the half, not to concede before the end. No real chances really apart from that indirect free kick from Wolves after that, really. we went into the half 1-0 up. So that's where we're going to leave it here for the first part of the show. When we come back, we'll look at the second half and how things went from there.

Second Half Struggles

00:10:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Amir back here on the second part of today's show. Looking back at Towns' unfortunate 2-1 loss to Wolves at Portmore this past weekend. As I said, it's just me, Tom, flying solo on today's episode. So coming out the start of the second half,
00:10:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, the pressure was on heading to this game and it was even more amplified after taking a lead and it was very much nail-biting stuff you're just really hoping we can hold on to a lead. But as so many games this season, and it's a shame that, I don't know about you guys, but I was definitely feeling this way. i was kind of expecting a goal to happen at some point.
00:10:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I got the sense by the players that they were as well, because really the second the whistle blew to start the first half, we were just sitting back and inviting pressure. there's no You can sometimes be applauded for doing that, and I think absorbing pressure is very different to inviting because you're absorbing it, but also getting rid of it and dealing with the attack in a really, really effective way. But with us sitting back, the pressure that came was...
00:10:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
a plethora of shots from Wolves. It wasn't us doing really good tackles. There were a few on occasion. i think Conor Townsend had a really good challenge at one point as well, but predominantly there were some really, really hairy moments around the first 10, 15 minutes of the first half. First being from a shot from Jael Gomez who hit the post, too much freedom to run through there. He just kind of waltzed through a bit and we were lucky to not concede to be equalised then.
00:11:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
Four minutes later, Matt Doherty with a similar effort, not as good as a chance of Jael Gomez, but of a chance wide as well. As I said, there were a few chances that we did manage to quash fairly easy. I thought it was brilliant challenge from Townsend on his full-back counterpart in Nelson Somalia around the 60th minute.
00:11:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Around the 60th minute is when the substitutes started to come for both sides, because, you know, that's usually around a time when most teams would make those changes. And for us, we saw Jack Taylor come on for Nathan Broadhead, which was, you know, a welcome addition for me, considering, you know, he got the winner at Molyneux earlier in the season. So I'm sure he wouldn't fairly would would have been very confident coming onto the pitch, and you' knowing his role exactly.
00:11:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Did obviously squash us even more attacking-wise, though, because Taylor does not propose the same amount as attacking threat as Nathan Broadhead does. So it's even more suggestive of what we're going doing now. It's going sitting back even more than we already were, which I think around the 60th minute might have a mistake because you need to still have more attacking threat going forward and Well, I'm a fan of Taylor. He definitely does not offer that the same amount as Broadhead does. A couple of changes for the visitors as well. We saw Matt Doherty go for Rodrigo Gomez.
00:12:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then what would have been a big, what turned out to be a very big substitution, which was Bellegarde for Pablo Sarabia around the 64th minute as well. Pablo Sarabia, I mean, to me, a great example again of teams just this season. Yes, Wolves are only one spot above us, but just the the Premier League has shown me this season. I said it on Bournemouth's podcast.
00:12:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
preview episode last week just the golfing class when it comes to bench players and yes we have a few now we've bolstered throughout the season you know like Sifilagin and know Davis coming off the bench for later in the game but like Pablo Sarabia player for PSG you know we haven't got players like that to come off the bench for us unfortunately so it's it's a proper issue to have I think when you come up from the Premier League and you haven't got that option you know hopefully if things come come better for us in a couple years time we may be able to have players like off the bench for us but It showed that you know Wolves, yes, despite not being a very good season for them, have that quality off the bench. And when they want to perform, players like that can perform. And we saw that because only eight minutes later, Pablo Sarabia, with you know some dodgy dealings in the box, not necessarily saying like from fouls or anything, but just conveniently placed upon his lap and we weren't able to get rid of the ball Good control from Strand Larsson to set up the goal as well.
00:13:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
for Sarabia to equalise into but Alex Palmer's bottom left corner to make it 1-1. And, you know, we haven't been able to keep a clean sheet at home all season apart from Chelsea. And, you know, it was kind of it felt kind of inevitable, didn't i think, as I said, start the half, you sitting back for that long. It was going to happen, wasn't it? And, you know, well-taken goal from Pablo Sarabia to make it 1-1.
00:13:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well made goal, I will say that, but the thing that annoyed me the most, apart from obviously going off going to 1-0 and it really felt like the writing was on the wall at that point, was from the away end. Yes, great support from the Wolves fan. I think you know one of them one of the few away fans this season who' really had their voices heard.
00:14:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
But the chant they had, i don't know where everyone else if you've heard of it, if you haven't heard the chant yet either early in the season or on Saturday's game, that the chant was just, we are Wolves, we are are Wolves, we are Wolves. It's just like, yeah, but we get it. like We are Wolves. wait I just thought it was awful. like yeah I know you Wolves, guys. Well done. Can you know not think of anything more inventive than that?
00:14:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it probably made me more angry. I was probably more angry about it just because of... of what the scoreline was. And obviously they just scored against as well. Maybe that was why I was a bit angrier another time in the game. wouldn't thought it was such a strange charm. But yeah, out of all the ways football fans are inventive of their chants these days, I thought that was an absolute shocker. So Wolves fans, come with better chance, please. You know, you're a Premier League side, you should do better than that.
00:14:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Moving forward, At that point, it did kind of feel like you know Wolves were just going for the juggler at that point, despite the fact it being 1-1. We really didn't pose much attacking threat. Stran last with a header around the 75th minute, looking to wrap up, but luckily did not get the goal. Then then around the 80th minute, we had four changes for us, with a returning Conor Chaplin for Jansky Ustey, Hurst for Liam De Laap, who absolutely ran his socks off, Leif Davis for his left-back teammate in Conor Townsend, then Jadon Filagin for Axel Twanzavi. So, some attacking changes.
00:15:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
substtiuttions there albeit in my opinion a bit too late because we really like to say the second the second I've started we were on the back foot and I think some of these attacking alterations would have been welcome I think you know Connor Towns over how great he is defensively, and I think he's a top player.
00:15:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Leif Davis, you know, he brings that attacking sense. And at this point in the game, we really needed that. You know, he was kind of out of position moving forward defensively, which probably did lead to the second goal. But he does offer that attacking sense, which, you know, we needed because we needed score a second. And we just didn't really pose any threat after Sarabia scored, unfortunately.
00:15:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then the 83rd minute, it came, didn't it? Strand Larson, who you know has kind of gone on the radar this under the radar this season as a decent striker, really. I think that's all kind of because of where Wolves have been at the table with us. I think you know it's bit of a surprise package and how great the lap's been.
00:16:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Strand Larson, though, 11 goals, 29 matches, couple of assists here and there. Really found his feet in the last few games as well. i think he's scored, as I said, I think he's scored four goals in his last three league games. So, In the absence of Matthias Cunha, when a lot of us, including myself, thought they would kind of be a bit screwed with their best player being out, he stepped up fantastically and he's kind of put the team on his back and got them over the line at the end of the day.
00:16:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
We've always taken the lead there. Before we got to the end of the game, we did see a lot of fans walking out. think it was around the 87th, 88th minute, which, you know, it shows that despite there was the fact there was six minutes at a time, so there was nine minutes after the game from this point onwards, but people were still ready to leave.
00:16:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it was just, I think everyone was kind of expecting us to not really pose a threat in front of a goal. And we didn't really. It was just real shame. And as I said there, and as you guys know, the game ended 2-1 with us now 12 points behind walls.

Relegation Concerns

00:16:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
And really, whilst it's not mathematically or whilst not mathematically confirmed, with the six games to go, most likely we are going to be relegated and back in the c championship next season.
00:17:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, yep, that was the game. Poor, poor way to face it. I think, you know, and win wasn't guaranteed, but losing so late on, as we have on many occasions at home this season, unfortunately, it's it's a much more bitter sp bitter pill to swallow. And also the fact that it did kind of confirm us going down made it even worse, didn't it? I think just before we go to the next part and we'll kind of look at what's ahead, just some quick thoughts myself from the game overall.
00:17:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
i thought, as I said in the second half, I thought we really lacklustre and tired. I think, yeah as McKenna said post-match, you know, whilst you know we haven't put out the same 11 back-to-back all season, this may not have been the time to do it, to be honest. And yes, the confidence may have been, mate you would have liked the confidence to carry over from Wednesday's brilliant victory at Bournemouth.
00:17:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
it's It's a short, jump in between. You've only got Thursday and Friday to recover and you're back at it on Saturday for such a big game, both physically and emotionally. So it must have been really, really hard for the team. You did see them at the latter stages of the game, even like Kyusli and Morse both struggling to create anything in the centre because they were both just, they just ran their race, didn't they? It was really, really difficult. And, you know, don't know if fitness has been a huge factor for season because we have run a lot, but I think just having some some other players just help along the side and just keep keep keep the pace going because coming off the bench is when we've really, really struggled as well.
00:18:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
And yeah, we kind of saw that in the game. I will just, you know, again, we are a town podcast, but Vita Pereira, you know, since he came in after Gary Neil got sacked after losing to Ipswich in December last year, he has really turned around, hasn't he?
00:18:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, new manager bounce is a cliche and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Look at Leicester's case, yes, they had decent start under Van Nessau in the first two or three games, but really from then on, it's been business as usual and they've been behind Southampton, the worst team in the league this season.
00:18:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
But reach Vita Pereira, over 50% win rate. and how many wins Wolves have got in the past few games, but... All right, guys, just checking the old stats here. Bear with.
00:19:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
They have got one, two, three. So they've won three in a row, and then also they drew against Everton. So the last four games, they've got 10 points out of a possible 12, which really has been the difference maker, hasn't it?
00:19:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
And, you know, whilst we would like to wave our hands thinking that we've had a few chances to go against us this season... I think just the Premier League quality did kind of show, especially yesterday and then also the fitness as well. I mean, I don't know what the stat is.
00:19:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right now, it may have changed after the weekend. But one stat I did see online, so this may not be completely fashically correct, but considering how many games have gone this season, I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
00:19:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it was saying how twenty we Ipswich have dropped 22 points from winning positions this season, which the second most in the Premier League. like You think back to Leicester, Bournemouth at home,
00:19:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yesterday, I'm sure there's plenty of games that come to mind. Brentford fit away. There's been a lot West Ham. Was that? Maybe they took lead action that game. I apologize. But there's been a lot of games this season where you can look back and think, oh, if we held on those three games, we'd have had nine more points. And it would have been a lot closer. But I think defensively, quality-wise, it's really, really what's scuppered us this season, hasn't it?
00:20:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
But it's been a lesson learned. And like i said, we're going to go into the next part of the show. I'll just give my thoughts on where we go from here and how just a slight reflection of

Season Reflection and Future Outlook

00:20:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
the season. We'll have proper reflection on the season come May time, but just some quick thoughts as we wrap up the show.
00:20:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'm here back here on the day that's just final part of today's show. weve We've looked back at the result now, haven't we? I'm sure James and Richard and Rob will be back on some point this week to give you their thoughts on the game. Not that want to be reminded of it as much, to be honest, do we? But the result happened. And...
00:21:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, we we move most likely now we will be playing in the Championship next season. And, you know, i have enjoyed the season. I have. You know, we've still got some big games to go. The next three, you know, on paper are exciting, regardless of where we are on the table. You know, we've got Chelsea away, who we've played this season. and We've got a fantastic result against there.
00:21:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Such an up-and-down team. So whilst, you know, our league position seems to kind of be where it is now, it's an exciting game to play be played for sure. And, you know, McKenna said post-match yesterday how, you know, Whilst relegation is unfortunately seemingly confirmed, player motivation should not be an issue because you've got a away trip to Stamford Bridge, we're welcoming Arsenal at home on the Sunday after that, then away up to Newcastle as well. Three big, big games opposition-wise. And, you know, I've said this on multiple occasions this year, but...

Just look at the sort teams we were playing two or three years ago compared to the teams we're playing now. And the fact that we're upset about really being relegated from the Premier Yes, it stinks and it sucks to be getting relegated. No side likes to feel this. you know it's We had it in League One, but this is very different relegation to that one.

That one 2019 was, it felt like we should not be here. This is not what should be happening to our club. And it was really, really horrible. We had some horrible years after that in League One.

Tejava comes in, McKenna comes in, things start changing. Yes, we would have liked to continue to progress as we are as we have the last two seasons, but you know there's plenty of reason to be optimistic heading to the next season. I've talked many times about I think the the the quality of our team on paper next season, bar a few departures, most likely in the lap and a few others like that, for squadics and great stead, look, we played Coventry in the Cup a month or so ago with our quote-unquote second team, with likes of Hurst and Jack Clark and that out on the field, and we absolutely smashed them. Coventry are one of in-form teams in the Championship this season, and we made them look like quite simple.

I'm not saying next season is going to be a complete walkover, of course, not look at Luton, who you know, had a fairly decent time on the pitch Premier League last season and I've really, really struggled back in the Championship and could be going down to League One. So, you know, it's not a certainty, but I think there's very much reason to be optimistic. We're in a great spot as a club. I'm sure backroom staff are not panicking one bit.

You know, they would have never said it publicly, but neither have we really. Hence why none of us predicts to go down and start the season. and But, you know, it was always a possibility. We all knew it coming to the season. The newly promoted sides coming up now, it does seem like a running joke that it's going to go straight back down. And I do hope it's which one whichever one of the three teams next season who goes up, I do hope they can prove it out as wrong and do what...

we didn't manage to do a season or the three before managed to do a season because it needs to be addressed. And it's not, you know, the argument could be that, oh, you know, stop, you can just, well, if you don't want to get relegated, don't get relegated.

That's what other the teams above us will say. But it's a lot harder. And we've seen the difference in quality and finances and quality of players and stuff. And hopefully one of the teams coming up even next year or the year after, which hopefully will be town again,

can prove the doubt is wrong and stay in the Premier League because it needs to be refreshing. It needs to change his time. That's the whole beauty of promotion and relegation is that teams you see in the in the top flight or teams of the leagues below don't just coast and coast and just sit on the laurels and think they've got a God-given right to be in the top league because they haven't. You've seen sides like United and Spurs this year with lack-lust performances.

fairly worse, i'm not saying either of those would have got relegated, but there's sides, you know, on paper and financially who aren't in the as comfortable spot as they are, who could find themselves down again. It's it's such a difficult lead to predict and we found it that at this season really, haven't we? But,

It's still been enjoyable. i think, you know, wait it's it's it's been tough on occasions. There's been some great memories. A few wins here and there, but you've got to save them when they come through. And I feel like considering how difficult the season has been when those wins have come, we've really, really made them feel special. You know, Chelsea, Wolves,

Spurs and Bournemouth, yes, you know, the fact that I can count all four of the wins on one hand, hopefully a few more wins before the season comes to end, is a bit unfortunate considering how great it's gone the past couple of years. But they've been memorable nonetheless. I'm sure everyone watching and everyone who went to those games are going to have memories of them that will last a lifetime because they've been really special, especially Chelsea around Christmas time.
