Welcome, everyone. This is episodes unscripted. I am Scott Feltz, joined by Shauna Fretwell and Charlie Harcum. All right. This is Nobody Wants This, episode two. Such a good title for this. Sorry. I i actually thought this episode was Much, much better than this. Yes, yes. Okay, I'm glad we can agree. I'll give a recap and then we'll dive into it, yeah? Perfect. So we start, we pick up where we left off. Joanne is at the temple. She shows up, he goes over to talk to her. He's like, meet me you know outside, maybe by the side door. Give me a sec. His mom's like, who's that? Shixa.
00:01:02
Speaker
And he's like, it's just an old friend. She's like, nope. that's but And she waits outside for like a long time. He's still in there talking. He finally comes out. She was just about to leave. They kind of meet the sister and his brothers there and they get in and they go off to a bar. They'll have a few drinks.
00:01:28
Speaker
He and her Chad and then Sasha, his brothers why his brother, Sasha, her his wife. It's confusing. It's confusing. Shows up and bus bust up the you know party and reminds him that he was engaged and in doing so told Joanne and Morgan that he's They think he's engaged, but that he was, regardless, they leave. He texts her, Hey, let's just have dinner. I can clarify. They have dinner. He works his magic, his rabbi magic. They go off, they have ice cream, they kiss, they leave. And then he turns out Rebecca had been calling him and that is where we finish. So to start off.
00:02:25
Speaker
I think it is so funny. This is going to be a trend, I fear. I'm not a woman, but. What? Since when? I think it's so funny because I can picture that her on that phone. like That's how I ignorantly picture it. like Calling up her sister, like, oh my gosh, you will not believe where I am and what I'm doing right now.
00:02:50
Speaker
I walked out on the bad date and I came to his temple. I'm sorry, okay. So you're at a temple right now? Yeah. There's a rabbi. I'm waiting on him. Like, is that not, you know? I have a sister that I am very close with. I talk to her just about every day. And the depiction between the two sisters is so accurate. And I think that's just another element of why people love the show so much, particularly women.
00:03:15
Speaker
because my sister Emma and I were totally like that something crazy is happening for sure somebody's texting somebody or talking to somebody like oh my gosh yeah it's very real uh and also i felt like Sasha had ah yeah He picked up the comic relief bit. like I feel way better. I made a note that actually both siblings, because I really like Morgan too. yeah her The siblings were my favorites in this episode. So funny. I actually wrote down his
00:03:50
Speaker
bits that were really funny, and it feels like almost all of them, but they were so good when they're in the car, obviously. Yes. Oh, I know what you're about to say. And, you know, the she's like, he doesn't even look that Jewish. He's way cuter than I thought. Also, the brother is brutal. Yuck. Message from Morgan. He's cuter than I expected. He doesn't look that Jewish. Oh, my God. Morgan. No. And the emojis the bar oji mom and emoji Next message from Morgan. The brother is brutal. Ogre emoji. Vomit emoji. Unplug the phone. But honestly, that's brilliant writing too because your heart goes up into your throat because anybody can picture themselves in that situation. What's so funny is it's great because it only gives him more of a chance to be that nice guy that like he reacted in such a way that was, it's funny, but it's also like I'm not really taking it.
00:04:48
Speaker
He's not mad. He makes it a joke. But also, then she's like, you know, I'm sorry if, like, are you, are you okay? And he's like, yeah, it's fine. And then Sasha's like, well, I mean, it was directed at me. He should be asking if I'm fine, but okay. But to be fair, I'm just looking for attention. He said something like that. I mean, it was directed at me, so you should probably be asking me if I'm offended, but he's not offended. He's just happy people are talking about it.
00:05:14
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Look, right after that, I wrote down these two comments too, which just sums up where I'm at with this show. One, he's still too perfect.
00:05:25
Speaker
Two, I hate, I may be being sucked in to kinda liken it. I hate that I'm maybe getting sucked in. It's a comedy relief, it really picked up. The siblings, yeah, the siblings make it very watchable. The siblings definitely made it. Oh, okay. I really like when he... I can breathe a little bit. When he was in the temple and he's like, he's such a kid almost. He comes over to him, he's like, hey, do you want to like eat gummy and go play weed tennis in my basement?
00:05:51
Speaker
No, du I'm going, it well take me with you. what i don't want I laughed about that too. I was like, that is not necessarily adult behavior, but also pop off, like go do. Hey, do you want to go take a gummy hang out in my basement, play Wii Tennis? No, I don't want to do that. Do you remember when we were kids? I took you everywhere with me. i took you everywhere well then let's do that again but and then then playing in a stocking hat on him at some point like halfway through I'm like he's just a kid he's like yeah because he yeah um yeah he's like don't would just don't tell you know I can't think of her name
00:06:24
Speaker
Esther Esther he's like that's how Esther and he's like, dude, i I'm not gonna tell her what oh hey hon Yeah, ago he's like I'm gonna go handle this right now. I want to back I want to back the truck up just a little bit though because I couldn't help but notice and I think the dialogue Being a woman. There's things I noticed in the show that probably men wouldn't but when he says hey go hang out outside um when they're in the temple. He's trying to give her an out, right? He's like, you want to go wait outside. He's getting her out of the line of fire. He's like, I'll meet you in a few minutes. Well, 15 minutes rolls around. She's talking to her sister. Her sister's like, what are you doing? And she talks herself into believing this guy sucks.
00:07:08
Speaker
How long have you been standing outside? Like 15 minutes. Oh, my God. but There is this annoying security guard who keeps asking me to leave. Oh, my God. This sounds so bad when I'm saying it out loud. OK, he doesn't want you there. So just get in the car and leave. He doesn't actually suck. But that happens a lot as a woman, like just the feedback you'll get, like the hyper vigilance. You're that's constantly like you're constantly on the lookout.
00:07:32
Speaker
for- Gosh, well, I haven't actually with Chuck. I'm so sorry to cut off. Oh, you finished it though. No, go ahead. I was just gonna say, I'm with Chuck. That sucks to hear because- I would hate to have to deal with that. I'm already thinking, like if I'm him in that situation, I'm thinking, I cannot break away. She's probably out there thinking like- Yeah. I'm already thinking it. You're only verifying that, yes, she is out there thinking that. But as a woman, you feel so stupid. You feel so stupid. Because in that moment, she's like, I'm a sucker.
00:08:01
Speaker
I'm a sucker. I just got played. He said, go stand out here. he And then her sister's like, dude, she he doesn't want you there. What are you doing? I'm going to come get you. You're embarrassing yourself. That to me was such a reflection of like the modern dating world because her sister talked her in into like, this guy sucks.
00:08:19
Speaker
I wrote down, is she really gonna leave? Like, was she really gonna leave? He said, just go up there and wait. She wasn't going to initially, but then she started thinking about it. I'm like, what the heck? It's that hyper vigilance of like, wait a minute, you just overthought it. It turns out he's really fun to have a guy and he brought a cool, you know. Well, and he just wasn't ill-intentioned. He really wasn't ill-intentioned. He didn't send her out there to blow her off and make her stand outside for 20 minutes. He truly could not pull away.
00:08:47
Speaker
But the whole situation got flipped when her sister was like, you're embarrassing yourself, let me come get you. And then she had to really try hard to get back in the moment and believe him. What a perspective I would have never even. I'm like, no, he said go out there and just wait. He's coming. Just wait. Right, as a guy, yeah, he's thinking no for real, and she's already on edge, like, uh-uh. She's a weird, women are so finicky. Finicky's a bad word. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's not fair. That's not fair, because there's plenty of times where that absolutely could be the case. Her sister was not ill-intentioned either. Whoever the guys are that have made y'all feel like that, I apologize to them. There's so many of them, y'all, they're so mean. What? So her sister- So how could they? Oh, gosh, yeah, are you kidding me?
00:09:34
Speaker
Hopper, I mean, I mean, come on, go back and listen to the other episode. Here's the rules. Don't look me in my eyeballs and don't act like you know me later. that's Well, it's, I'm trying, I was trying to find a parallel because I'm thinking like if it were me in that situation, right? I'm out there waiting. Oh, I'd be out there for two hours. If somebody I was interested in told me to wait, I'm waiting.
00:09:55
Speaker
And I would eventually I think, okay, but actually it's really funny because I thought of an incident where this kind of happened. That happened to me. Okay, good. Yeah. Well, I think I'm sure you've heard the situation before, but not in this context.
00:10:10
Speaker
Yeah, so I was in college. Where'd you get in school? Old Dominion. Old Dominion, yeah. Do you guys have hoodies? Do you have proof that anyone's in there? Yeah, for those listening, we're both my hoodies. I have my hoodies. Oh, right. Matchy, matchy. For the blonde viewers. In college and I go out with a friend of mine who- The boys. Sorry, tell your story. I'm sorry. Yeah. Oh, I know this story. Anyway.
00:10:38
Speaker
I come out with a friend of mine who, ah she had broken up with her boyfriend. It had been like a month or two. And I thought, oh, well she's cute. You know, I mean, whatever. We were going to meet up with a ah bigger group, but at first it was just, we were the only ones free. So I was like, let's go to the coffee house. And I was like, okay, great. And we went in, we're sitting down and we're kind of getting to know, it was such a, like, it I was thinking, I'm nailing this. This is going so well. Yeah, this was your shoe in. It was great.
00:11:06
Speaker
And then her ex boyfriend walked in and I thought, what, one, I don't even know the guy. So I don't know what's happening. He's walks in behind me to, he goes to a school three hours away. What is he doing here? What, what do you mean? So he walks in. All I see is her face. Like look shocked behind me like that. I just saw a ghost. I turned around and then he bolts.
00:11:33
Speaker
And then she's like, that's, yeah, that's my exploit for, I gotta go. Can you just wait? Like I'll be right back. And I was like, yeah, no problem. Like, cause I'm thinking she's going to go tell them off. You know, that was weird. He just busted up in here. But then I'm sitting there for a while. No. And then it turns out like they, she got in the vehicle with them and they went and like drove around, I guess for privacy.
00:11:57
Speaker
I don't know why. You know what they were doing. They drive around for a little bit and I'm thinking to the point where like the coffee shop is closing. It's like 15 minutes. And you're still there. I'm the only one in there. No. And the guy came over. Her stuff is all like, I'm like, I don't know. And the guy comes over and he's like, you know, hey, we're closing man. And I was like, listen, man, this is a weird situation. Oh, girl. He's like, you can wait a little bit longer.
00:12:26
Speaker
He felt bad. And then eventually it was like five, 10 minutes pass and I was like, I have to get out of here. Like I can't. Literally. So I just grabbed her stuff and went and sat on the picnic table outside. Oh my gosh. All the while I'm thinking like, this is fine. This is fine. Like. That hurts my heart. Somebody actually did call me on the phone. I don't remember who it was, but I'm telling them the situation and I'm like, yeah, now I think about it has been a long time.
00:12:54
Speaker
This way you get to call your sister like an hour ago. You tell your sister. It's just it was so I don't know how long I wait, but had it been at least 30 minutes. um And then when she did finally come back, she was in tears. the The let me also mention, which I forgot to say, she was my ride, so I couldn't go anywhere. Oh, so I had to wait. There was no option. But also I was thinking the whole time, like, I mean, this is fine because I'm I'm also thinking She had to like break it off. I like tell him you were going to be the show. I was going to be. Yes, I was going to be playing a long game. I thought this is actually perfect because now I'm going to get to swoop in again. And no, she came back in tears and I thought, OK, console or Scott.
00:13:41
Speaker
jump in here, do what you gotta do, you know? Hey, is everything okay? And he's still there, by the way. He's sitting in his truck in the parking lot and I'm like, is everything, what? What? What's he, she's like, I'm going to take you back. She's leaving with him. We still got more to talk about. And I was like,
00:14:01
Speaker
Oh, you just came back because you realized you have to take me back. I got to take my little brother home. We have more to talk about when I had to take him back. So she drops me back off and I was like, you don't have to go.
00:14:14
Speaker
And then at that point I'm thinking, what am I talking about? Like she's gonna do- She's coming back for them. Yeah, so yeah, she dropped me off and then she got in this truck and they drove up again and- And that's what this character's sister was trying to avoid letting her do. She's like, you're not gonna be in a situation yeah where this person takes you for a ride, I'm gonna come get you.
00:14:38
Speaker
Yeah, it was bizarre. And I think from a guy's perspective, yeah, I was just giving it the chance the whole time. I'm thinking surely this isn't, but then like the next day rolls around and I think, okay, well, wait a minute. I mean, at some point you told the guy yeah where you were. You knew the situation, like there was more going on. It was kind of time yeah like, that wasn't really cool. Uh, but yeah, in the moment I thought, Oh, great.
00:15:06
Speaker
There was nothing malicious going on, obviously. Can I put in a quick request here? It runs out in these streets. If you have any more... Depressing, embarrassing stories to share in the future. Do we want to dedicate? Don't hesitate. We should dedicate an episode to bad dating stories. You know what was so funny? That was real fun. That one just came up in the moment, but I actually had one written down here in case we wrapped up quickly on this episode. Oh my gosh.
00:15:37
Speaker
But we'll get to it if we wrap up. Can we, uh, can we go back to the temple real quick before we leave the temple? Anyone pick up on the mom? The mom, his mom is, uh, the big leader chief lady in like season five with the walking dead. You're right. She's the one that leads the cat. Yeah. familiar The other thing is,
00:16:01
Speaker
that is And this is not a racial, cultural, whatever. But if anybody's listening, watching that is of the Jewish heritage culture, I need to know the the interest and the desire to talk to the rabbi at the end of that service. Is that real? Like everybody wanted his attention. And it wasn't just the women.
00:16:26
Speaker
but mind Pastors get that too. I was going to say. Pastors get that big time. That's true. They do. But it just seemed like so. They always have to hang around after the service because people want to come tell them, oh, I like that. Man. not at all Yeah, they definitely do. We used to have a joke. I'm not going to tell names or anything. I'm not going to go on another long story. But that was a guy literally after the service went in.
00:16:48
Speaker
you know, the, the Oregon still playing everybody out and he walked down there and stand by and wait for that guy. Like, no, I'm going to be the first in line. It's a big deal. Yeah. It's like a celebrity meet and greet or something. But to be that guy and the rabbi and young and good looking and so perfect. that I mean, he's getting a lot of attention. Right. and Everybody's gonna come talk to her. My niece, actually. Right. You need to meet her. that Yeah. and That was pretty good. That sounded, that was a good accent right there. She's a nice Jewish girl. ah The other note I have here, when she was on the phone with her sister going back and forth and waiting in the security guard, and that was funny and all this, I wanted to give Kristen Bell some props, like, ah whether she wrote it or not, or how involved she was with that. She's a good
00:17:40
Speaker
good actress in the sense of just being believable. She's very well casted in this role. Yeah. Wait, what what scene? Well, the whole thing, but just when she was waiting outside, all the different emotions that she went through from being funny and joking with the security guard to be like, oh, wait, you're serious? And then my sister calls and now I'm she's processing. Oh, wait, why am I out here waiting? That's weird. All that stuff. She went through all that really well. Like I was I was. Yeah, she was. Yeah. Well, what impressed me even more, because I actually made a note on Kristen Bell's acting, and I thought it was very impressive, was the moments when he shocked her. Like he hit her with the, that's what you wanted to hear exactly. And that reaction was like, yeah yeah, yeah. When he told her, what did he say? I haven't written down. When they're at the dinner, and he's like, I thought about how, you know, you sat at the
00:18:34
Speaker
to open up to people, like what you do is important. And she get that, whoa, what God? Yes. See, and that made me want to throw hands a little bit that see, I'm like, all right, y'all need to relax the reaction. Yeah, he's way too on the nose with I mean, at that point he knew like, all right, I'm on my heels because she thinks I'm engaged. Yeah. Yeah. but Yeah, that line and then her receiving it, given the fact that she had just been in a conversation about, like, your podcast is about sex. Like, that's what we want. She's like, no, no, no, it's about more. It's meaningful. Yeah. And then he identifies that. Yeah. And that, but her reaction to that, that was what impressed me because I was like, she genuinely was taken back by it. But also the, I didn't notice the. It was just a range of emotions that she went through standing outside of the temple and a span of
00:19:25
Speaker
whatever that is, like 15 minutes. That's right. Um, five on screen. I'm going to jump back to some of the comic relief here because I thought this was really funny. There were two points with the Sasha and Morgan, the sister, when they're talking about the podcast and he's like, what's the podcast called? And she's like, nobody wants this. And he's like, there but yeah, okay. Who is he from? Anything else that y'all have watched or been in or?
00:19:54
Speaker
That's a great question. I mean, he doesn't look familiar, but he's... He played that really well. Yeah. I like Morgan's line too, when she says, you give off zero husband energy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he says, I'm wearing a ring. And she's like, I'm not looking at you. Yeah. Like, yes, girl. She's like, you're married? He's like, I'm wearing a wedding ring. OK, well, I'm not looking at you. I'm not looking at you.
00:20:18
Speaker
Yeah, I was totally thinking, oh my gosh, I need to see more of these two. yeah And then not even getting in a relationship, but just no they need to be together on the screen more. And then when, uh, yeah, cause she was telling them, Esther was telling everybody about, you know, at the end about when they had the little intervention.
00:20:36
Speaker
Yeah, and his mom and and Esther's like, yeah, and Sasha was there too flirting with whore number two. And he's like, yeah, I mean, she was totally into me, but I mean, I would never. yeah He's so nothing as serious with that guy. No, not and which- Which is great. That's his role. That's exactly what he's there for. And can I just say too, I'm not going to hate on Esther because I'm a big believer in women supporting women.
00:21:00
Speaker
But if I ever in my life am giving a grown ass man a countdown to get in the car, yeah I need somebody to come shoot me in the head. because They're just standing there. I'm not making good choices. They're just standing there and she's like, eight, ah seven. And he's like, all right, man, this part is playing out. i'm to Honestly, like that's for your children. That is not for grown people. yes She's playing the typical, the wife that men like to kid other men about having that wife. Like, yeah, you're not going to be allowed to go. You got to ask permission. And yeah she is that wife that every man talks about. For Esther's sake, that's not hot.
00:21:38
Speaker
That's not hot. I don't want to be with somebody that I don't think she wants to be hot. I don't think she wants to be hot. Because I think she knows that he is... That's not hot for her. I'm not attracted to him. I'm not attracted to you if I can count you down into the car. Oh, I see what you mean. That's not hot. Yeah, because I was going to say he plays it off like, all right, man, this part is pretty hot. I'm probably not that mean. It's obviously they're dynamic, whatever. He wants to be making up for it in other areas. Yeah, but as a woman... Mm-mm. Nope. She hasn't shown much...
00:22:09
Speaker
reason to like her. Also, when she throws out the... I think she's going to redeem herself. I want to call that now. Oh. When she throws out the engage, she drops the engaged on them while they're all standing there. I feel like the rabbi could have cleared that up right then. Well, okay. And Joanne skirts away and she's like, of course he's engaged. That confused me though, because I thought, because she's like,
00:22:33
Speaker
you're and you were engaged and you're getting back to get, I think she said were. Because then she said, ah and you're getting back together with her by the way. And I'm thinking, they only heard enough to gather like whatever information. So it doesn't surprise me that they gathered that he's engaged. But I thought it was clear the way she said it was like,
00:23:00
Speaker
Yeah, you remember Rebecca, who you're engaged with, who you're getting back together with, by the way. Like... But yeah, okay, but this ties back into the temple thing. This is all still very new. Her character is still very much on the lookout for anything, any reason to jump ship at any moment. Which is why... She has no faith in this person yet. You know, this is why I hate women.
00:23:22
Speaker
because she Esther rolled up and was like, you know what? He should. I'm going to ruin this for you. Yeah. You remember that girl you were engaged with that you're totally going to get back together with? Yeah, exactly. She knew exactly what she's doing. You know, I don't know if you've ever seen the one where they talk about a man's brain and a woman's brain and the woman's brain is it's called spaghetti, both spaghetti versus and the man's is like.
00:23:49
Speaker
What? Do this? This? We're doing this? Okay, good. Compartmentalized. Yeah, Joanne's all over the place. Because when they leave that night, she's like, of course he's engaged. Like, okay, we're done. Yeah. Like, it's over. But then you know what really broke my heart, actually?
00:24:05
Speaker
She made one more attempt to push him away, even though they had hit it off at dinner. It was clear that he was into her and she was into him. She said, well, you'll probably get back together with her. She said, you deserve to be with somebody who calls their grandparents. So once again, she's setting, you know what I mean? She's testing the water. She's already making sure. She's already decided. Oh, it's so exhausting. This isn't gonna work. And it's because she's freaked out.
00:24:35
Speaker
But it's like one of those like, all right, let's see what you say here. Yeah, you'll probably get back together with her. How are you going to react to that? But she's really shortchanging herself in that moment too. Like she's, she's discounting herself. No, see, here's the problem though. As a, as someone like myself, who's a bit probably egotistical and is a bit combative. I thought you were going to say not a woman.
00:24:58
Speaker
yeah And also not a woman. When she does that, and she's like, yeah, you'll probably get back together with her. And I'm thinking, you're fishing here. Because you want me to say. She wants reassurance. Right. And I'm thinking. And you won't do it. Because that's what she wants to hear. It's not even that. It's not even that. I'm now going to play up a joke. Yeah. I mean, she is really good looking. I wouldn't. I wouldn't. She's obviously just. Right. I wouldn't say it. I do like when he's like, she's funny. She's not funny. But I would lead you to believe like, no, no, no. I'm going to make you keep, you know,
00:25:29
Speaker
bringing it up to the point of like, yeah so I'd make a joke like, well, I mean, I don't know. I mean, she is really hot. I'm going right down to that like is i'm not a woman. So I'd love to know the perspective. But at some point I thought, man, is she, is she a little desperate? Like she's, I mean, she keeps coming back even though she's convinced.
00:25:57
Speaker
I guess to your point, Shauna, it's just how her brain is contemplating all the different possibilities and what you could really be happening. Literally hyper vigilance. She can't, she can't regulate. You know, here's what's funny though, because you said he's too perfect. Well, we find out they might be a bit too perfect because he ends.
00:26:17
Speaker
with, you know, I mean, he again, he played the whole kiss scene so well. Oh, I hated how much I loved that scene. I hated myself. ah but's a pocket about I can understand putting the ice cream down. He said by having to do the back and then he does that. I'm like, oh, he does. And I'm punching the air. Oh, I was making that because the hand on the face and the music. What's funny, though?
00:26:43

is his phone rings, you know, sorry, yeah, it's work. And then she leaves and it's Rebecca and I'm thinking. All right. So you all right. So we can get somewhere now. The facade was so glad that he did that, though. Like, again, he's too perfect. Yeah. Because he shielded her from knowing who was really calling him. Right. There would have been no really reason. She's already on shaky ground. There would have been no reason to say, oh, my God, this is my ex fiance calling me. I really need to see what this is. But it gives a little bit of like, OK, he's keeping a secret. Like, he's not that like.
00:27:20
Speaker
Well, nobody's flawless. There's a little bit of a secret here. He's pretty close. One thing, when he was arranging the date on the phone, I don't know if y'all noticed this. I love that they showed the auto correct.
00:27:36
Speaker
when he was typing her message. I didn't recognize that. Yeah, that's good attention to detail. He said just as, and it typed out Drens, D-R-I-E-N-D-S, and he clicked friends to autocorrect. I'm like, oh yeah. That's so cool. Because who types the text and doesn't have to battle autocorrect at least once every message. Yeah, that's true. And it made me think when they were filming it.
00:27:59
Speaker
Did that just happen or did they really say? I'm sure someone was there like. No type it wrong so it can autocorrect. What if I like misspell it and autocorrect? It'll be, it'll feel way more real. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I love to the dots and then the dots went away and we've all felt that anxiety of like, you, oh, you were going to say something. I hate that I'm getting invested. I hate it. Yeah. Okay. So now.
00:28:26
Speaker
Not to talk about other episodes we did, because who knows what order people are listening to, but you mentioned in the Stranger Things series that we were doing that that one, you know the acting, was it took you over and you were like, oh my gosh, I can't even pay attention to the scene. This is incredible. What's going on? Because you're producing this so well, I can see You know, the kissing scene, the lighting there, oh my gosh. We used to sit, I don't wanna talk about myself, but we used to sit at Film Club. He's not a woman. He's not a woman. Not a woman. And ODU. People are wondering. And we'd bring up scenes that looked like that, like a screen grab from a scene like that, and then try and recreate it with the lights. And it's the most fun to do. And then when you do it, it's so awesome. Well, now I wanna rewatch it.
00:29:18
Speaker
because the way that was lit was just perfect. And they gave, you know, because a lot of people do it and they're not explaining, well, where's that blue light coming from? It's just a blue light. There's not a sign around. There was another shot where you saw one of the, I don't know if it was like a street lamp or something. There was a blue light in the background and you're like, okay, so now you've given me a point to say that's where the lights, so it's not just, oh, because it looks good.
00:29:41
Speaker
ah They really thought it too. It was so good. Now it feels like such just like a lame spectator because I'm too busy looking at his hand. Meanwhile, there's all this movie magic going on. One thing I think I noticed there, I've got to go back and watch it or maybe somebody can tell us. But I think too, so before they kiss, you know, they just hugged, which I love that he Yeah, because it builds some tension. He made a point. I felt like he led that part at least and was like, no, I'm not just going to kiss you just like that. Even though he probably wanted to and she obviously they both wanted to. Yeah. But they hugged. Did she like she looked very
00:30:24
Speaker
I don't know if it's vulnerable. I don't want to get mushy about it. But she looked comfortable yeah for a second. you relax oh She Yeah, relaxed. Her hyper vigilance took a break. It looked like she took a breath. And I also thought, not in a weird way, but it looked like she turned her face into him just a little bit like shenied and like she breathed in a little bit like, oh, this is where I want to be. like i could I could be here.
00:30:53
Speaker
in a very real relationship. And it was like, it was not her character for a minute, because that's probably not who she really is. And I need to go back and see if that really happened or if I'm thinking, Oh, I think you nailed it. Yeah. Getting into this. Who was it? Which one of them said, how have we not kissed yet? Was that her then right after the hug? Yeah, she said it, but he said, Oh, I'm very aware. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That dude. Gosh.
00:31:23
Speaker
He's so smooth. I don't it's too smooth. I wrote down the date was just too perfect. And yes, it's written so well, but it's written because ah it made me smile or or something. And it's just so.
00:31:42
Speaker
Perfect. And you're like, oh, yeah, and listen to you. of course I can't. I don't know who to be impressed by though. The writing is specifically for him because there are definitely parts of this that I'm like, what are we doing? That was stupid. Like, you don't know how to write this because that was just dumb.
00:32:00
Speaker
um But him, like the writing for his character, his acting of that writing. His acting of it, I'm glad you said that. Or the casting, the fact that they were like, that's the guy. I think it's the casting, it's that quirky,
00:32:19
Speaker
remarkably average Remarkably average. Because you know what? If he were a jerk, it'd be so easy to dislike him. He's not like some heartthrob model dude. He's an average guy who who air quotes. Doing above average things. And he knows how to meet her where she's at and say the right things so she can let her guard down. Meet her where she's at. That's what makes him

Tom Holland is the real life, this character. Not like Adam Brody specifically, this character. Tom Holland's relationship with Zendaya, he is literally 280 the perfect boyfriend in real life. Is it? You might be right. I'm sorry to her if I butchered her name. She's definitely gonna listen to us. How do you know this?
00:33:10
Speaker
No, I'm with you. Tom Holland, he always says the right thing. Tom Holland is that guy. He's adorable. He's super into her. He's super supportive, but he's not a doormat. So he's not, nobody's counting him down into the car, but he's just- Nor is he overimposing figure. Right. He's just right in that sweet spot. Man, I just saw a picture of him today on the cover of Men's Health. Tom Holland? Yeah.
00:33:40
Speaker
And he is shredding. He can cut a figure. I don't know what he's... what You ever heard about him? He's got a little bit of a history going down a dark path. He talks about it recently. ah Yeah. That's a great topic. Wow. But he is another one of those people that if he were a jerk, you could if he he'd have a whole different vibe. Yeah. I mean, it's Peter Parker. Come on.
00:34:06
Speaker
Andrew Garfield is my Peter Parker. Also, I love the rabbi pulling the Modella. I appreciated that. He's not just throwing me some American whatever. No, I'll take the Modella in the way this way. And I love it when she's like, I'll take a margarita to go.
00:34:27
Speaker
We can't do that. Well, put it in a glass that you don't want to have come back. Right. Put it in a glass you don't want to see again. That's the spirit. I like her way in there. Cause I'm thinking like, cause he just played it out. Okay. Not a problem. No bacon. And then she got extra bacon. That's a Jewish joke. Did y'all? Yeah. Pick up on that. Pick up what you're putting down.
