Patriot Games No Room for Error

Ohana Packers Edition | Green Bay Packers Podcast

Transcript

Speaker: Aloha and welcome back to the Ohana Packers Edition podcast. Today we are previewing the Packers week 9 opponent in the New England Patriots. You hear crunching in the background. That is the results of the dad tax as we come out of Halloween. um Joe is here. I'm here. And like I said, this is a, you know, cross-conference matchup, but it's a pretty big, it's a decent measuring test for the Packers because Patriots are a solid, good team depending on the week.

Speaker: um They have some potential matchup issues for Green Bay, but also they can be got. And Green Bay is going to need to get this win because, again, the rest of the division just continues to refuse to lose games as Green Bay is trying to keep pace and also potentially make up ground in the standings and, you know, as they hope to be able to win the NFC North. So, yeah.

Speaker: You know, suffice it to say, every game is a must-win in some regard, but the Packers really just need to um keep pace in the division. But um the big news coming into today, Chris Brooks had his 21-day practice window open.

Speaker: Oh, and I guess Michael Parsons too. But um joking aside... we're finally getting some resolution on, you know, when Parsons will be back again, the team and more Parsons has made it clear that he is not going to be back this weekend. He is going to maximize his ramp up time in the 21 day window, but at bare minimum, he is on the practice field. We're going to see him get out there. You know, he looked to be moving pretty well in the drills for whatever it's worth. The Packers are stating that he is fully medically cleared.

Speaker: What that truly means in regards to his participation remains to be seen. He was still a limited only in individual drills, which is pretty relatively standard for any guys coming off of IR or PUP.

Speaker: And we'll see how it goes. But um Joe, did you have anything you wanted to add to that? Or you want me to just go through the injury report at this point?

Speaker: No, I was waiting for a spot to break in because I knew you were... ah getting to it but the whole micah thing i i am now after seeing some of the videos and the photos from today's practice with him being limited limited participant i think i am going back to my original statement that or my original opinion i think it's when he comes back without having to use a brace because he did not have a brace on his knee he just had a sleeve on his knee

Speaker: So I'm thinking he's not wanting to come back with a brace because he doesn't think he'll be able to be up to par with the brace on. Now, with that being said, he did also say that, uh, he's in the worst football shape of, of his life. So it is going to take him a bit to get back. So, you know, the three week thing is, is going to legit.

Speaker: legit but I really strongly believe a lot of it has to do so he can come back without a big knee brace on his knee. Cause I think he does. i think he'll, he, he believes that it would hinder his production because he is more of a speed guy and that knee brace does limit your mob. It may not hurt you.

Speaker: production wise but it will hurt you like limitation wise because you can only do so much with that knee brace on so i i think that's there did they also mention something about colin oliver i swear i saw somebody mention colin and oliver for something i'll try to dig through that um but not off the top of I don't see it on the injury report, but because they would have them listed, but I just, I swore somebody asked or somebody said something about Colin Oliver, but that would be big to get both of those guys back at this point. Uh,

Speaker: and, and yeah, whatever. I mean, obviously it's not going to be this week unless they're like pulling the wool all over all of our eyes or whatever, but you know, it I, somebody did say, and as I was kind of scrolling through Twitter, somebody did say something about, setting off one side LVN off the other side. And then Micah just roaming around as an agent of chaos would, you know, that, that would be amazing. And, you know, right now with the way the, the pass rush has been, that would be something fierce.

Speaker: Right. And then even if only so that he's another option as an off-ball linebacker, you know, that can play as an overhang blitzer type and stuff, you know, just giving Gannon one more weapon to utilize in his third down pressure package looks like even if you just start Oliver in a limited role that way, that would be a pretty big step up. But... Yeah, I'm not finding anything direct on Oliver. He is technically designated to return because to put him on IR at the end of cutdown or before cutdowns, you have to designate him to return. so um And Packers are running out of guy running out of spots, aren't they?

Speaker: So Oliver is technically their third. so like this So they' you they've used three out of eight because Savion was one of them, Oliver was another one, and then um Brooks is the third. And so...

Speaker: They've kind of gotten away with it because, um you know, Micah came off PUP, Riley came off PUP. And then, so right now, like, the last big one who kind of feels like, i don't want to say a sure thing, but a guy that I feel like they would really want to get off IR is um Brinson.

Speaker: Otherwise, I don't know if anyone else on IR is really like expected to come back, if that makes sense. I don't know if they plan to bring Monk back at this point. I feel like given where they are in the season, you know maybe if they make the playoffs kind of thing, because you too you do get two more if you make the playoffs. So maybe at that point, they look at bringing him back. But I get the feeling that They're looking at, you like, you know, at some point get Oliver back, Brinson back at some point, and then you kind of just play it by ear. I don't see anyone else who's, like, somewhere... Jonathan Ford, maybe a Sky Moore for the returns. Oh, yeah, yeah, I forgot about Ford. and more More definitely because, yeah, they need something more sure back there.

Speaker: And then Ford, I'm just... Ford, I would put in the Brinson file. It's just, like, I'm not sure exactly where he is because... The whole, oh, they didn't expect him to go on IR in the first place and, you know, what that means for his injury. i do think if he can make it back, he will come back, but I'm just super confused as to what his actual status, you know, his prognosis is looking to come back. So... so You know, if they do those two, do Brinson, that puts them at 6 of 8. They're using them up, but at the same time, I feel like that's kind of the norm with how, you know, the season goes and how, um you know, having the ability to bring guys up. Like,

Speaker: 15 years ago you couldn't do that so i think these are just conversations where it's really hard to get an idea of like what is normal what's average because like this is still a relatively new mechanism you know kind of brought on by covid like covid was sort of the tipping point where they're like oh shoot we better be able to you know adjust the numbers and stuff like that so we'll see but Getting into the rest of the injury.

Speaker: Well, before we do the injury reports, I forgot to hit the button on that, but um let's do a little housekeeping with with the small transactions.

Speaker: They did sign, ah they got on the list as edge rusher DJ Johnson, a third-year guy safety John Saunders, and quarterback Cam Miller to the practice squads. Yeah, so Miller got signed because Keaton Slovis got signed away to, I believe, the Ravens' active roster. So, yeah, it was one of those where, like, I didn't see any news before that, you know, they were expecting to lose Slovis to another 53-man. So it was kind of like, a you're working a quarterback up out out of nowhere. So it was kind of like, oh, what's that? And then... um

Speaker: um With Johnson, that's interesting that they went after a like edge rusher type as opposed to like, you know, a linebacker or even like a tight end. Hopefully Wiley's concussion isn't too bad or anything like that. But I feel like it's ah it's interesting that they're going there because, you know, you still have Nigel Kelly on um ons the practice squad.

Speaker: um I don't know you know. Mosby is pretty much out of elevations at this point. So you know do they sign him to the active roster because they still have a few spots and stuff and then put him back on the practice squad remains to be seen.

Speaker: but You know, Groot has always churned the bottom of the roster, the practice squad. He kind of just keeps those deck chairs rotating to make sure that they're maximizing the the opportunity they have in those roster spots. I was kind of hoping it meant that Terod was getting flipped for something because there are some QB-needy teams out there. So I thought maybe that, but then I saw that the Ravens... ah ah sign Slovis to their active roster so was like okay well that's the Cam Miller thing but yeah but injury report here we go so who's hurts who's healthy time for bruised curds they're still hoping that he's more did that not play for you oh sorry did that not play for you no it didn't I run burgundy'd it if it did play try again

Speaker: Who's hurt? Who's healthy? Time for bruised curds! Ah, there it is! Alright. Um, so DNPs. Zaire Franklin, um the team earlier in the week said, you know, that they were hoping he was more day-to-day than week-to-week, but it appears that he is probably not going to be suiting up for the Packers this week. They're going to need time to ramp him back up after the two weeks he's missed, um plus the fact that his leg is fractured.

Speaker: um Travis Glover, is still DNP with a knee. Sean Ryan, still DNP with a high ankle. He is probably going to miss... um another week after this one you know that's just the nature of high ankle sprains but they didn't want to have to use i don't want to say waste but if you know that he's going to come back in a way It sort of is a waste to put a guy on IR if you know he's definitely coming back. And then you only suit up 8-0 linemen on game day anyway, so if someone has to sit. So no real surprise with Ryan. And then as I mentioned earlier, Wiley was a DNP. He's in concussion protocol. Not great for his prospects of playing on Sunday that he's still a DNP. Usually if guys are able to play on Sunday, they're already a limited participant on Wednesday. Um...

Speaker: Limited participants, Aaron Banks, Chris Brooks opened his 21-day window. Similar to Micah, he's going to need time because he's been out since, what it was it, week four whatever it was. um Something like that.

Speaker: Yeah, Keyshawn continues to be listed with the groin that popped up before the Dallas game. I'm assuming it's the same one. Micah was a limited participant. Again, he is expected to use more of the 21 day. It's looking like that Rams game the day before Thanksgiving is the target. And then had Christian with the rib. and Frankly, he's going to be listed with the rib for the rest of the season. I'll be shocked if he comes off the injury report at any time before the season ends.

Speaker: For the Patriots, um ironically, for once, the Packers are seeing a as populated injury report as they have. um DNPs, Christian Barmore with an illness.

Speaker: Defensive tackle Christian Barmore with an illness. Wide receiver A.J. Brown with a knee and ankle. There's some reports, dubious reports, that his knee is a degen of the degenerative variety.

Speaker: And there's worry that they rushed him back too soon from the the high ankle sprain he suffered week one because he's just looked like a shell of himself the past couple weeks. um trevion henderson running back illness tight end hunter henry with the foot was a dnp limited participants safety kevin byard with a chest uh cornerback carlton davis with a neck um wide receiver mac hollands was designated for to return from ir with a calf um edge rusher gabe yakis with a d linebacker draymond jones with a shoulder and knee um

Speaker: Tackle Morgan Moses with a foot. Greg Van Roten, old friend Greg Van Roten with a hamstring. He was also activated off the reserve injured list.

Speaker: And um one full participant in quarterback Drake May, who's been dealing with a sore shoulder, but hasn't really shown signs of it. He was rocketing passes around the field against the Dolphins. So... um You know, it's day one. It's a populated list, but, you know, you'll have to just kind of check back um as the week goes on to see how those injuries play out. The big ones to keep an eye on for the Packers are going to be, you know, if Barmore is at all limited, you know, testing that interior of the Packers line. Yacos is their best pass rusher probably.

Speaker: so if he's at all limited or can't play on Sunday, that would really hamper their ability to go. Henderson is an explosive backfield player. Henry is one of... um

Speaker: is one of um may's trusted targets especially on third downs and then um you know the ones that keepve are byron and davis in the secondary they're older guys you know they might just be getting more rest day kind of things but they'll need to prove their ability to go so um any thoughts on that or you want to just head into the matchups uh

Speaker: No, isn't Romeo dinged up too? He's on IR. So like, okay. Okay. Yeah. It shows how much I pay attention to the Patriots. I, I, I really haven't, but yeah, they're just as banged up at key positions at the as the Packers are. So trying to, and we do these episodes early in the week that it, it's hard to get a full gauge of what's going to happen for the game. But yeah uh yeah and who knows that this game is really weird it's one them comes out weird time games because it is a non-conference non-division team and they're they're about this about even with the packers when it comes to

Speaker: ah record and, and stuff like that. I think they're one of the only other teams that, I mean, the Packers are obviously the worst team when it comes to the run, but the, the Patriots aren't really lighting the world on fire when it comes to the running attack. So it's hard to gauge you what their injury reports going to do for them outside of, like you said, maybe AJ Brown, you know, it sucks that they gave up so much for AJ Brown and AJ Brown's really not,

Speaker: ah the ah The return on investment is not there. So, yeah, we can go ahead and jump on to the the matchups. Here, and let me hit the button for this one. Who's got the edge? It's time for the great debate.

Speaker: So, Patriots offense. Drake May is their starting quarterback. Starting running back is Ramondre Stevenson. He's a power back. Not going to run away from you, but... ah As the bear found Bears found out, you better tackle him if you have the opportunity because he will just kind of bowling ball his way down the field.

Speaker: um Wide receiver, AJ Brown, who is limited, Demario Douglas, who has been all around the league at this point. um Or wait, am I thinking? No, no, I'm thinking of the wrong one. um He has been a Patriots only. Sorry. Efton random practice squad player Chisholm. That is a CJ, GJ ah joke if you remember if you've paid any attention to AFC games. um And the guy who is likely going to have to step up if Brown is at all limited is wide receiver Kyle Williams, formerly of Wazoo.

Speaker: Tight end. um Hunter Henry is the starter, but if he is at all limited, then it's rookie Eli Raritan, young, you know, relative youngster Cameron Latu, formerly of um Bama.

Speaker: And then the O-line So this O-line is actually, has actually shuffled more than the Packers O-line has. That's because they have lost both of their starting guards to IR. Mike Onwen, who suffered a gruesome ankle break. um I think he was in week two.

Speaker: um The often injured Elijah Vera Tucker is again injured and on IR. He will not play against the Packers.

Speaker: um Right tackle Morgan Moses, as we said, he has been dealing with injury all season. He's an older player. So if he can't go, i believe their first round pick, Caleb Lobu, was going to start at right tackle. I believe he was starting at right tackle when Moses was out earlier in the season.

Speaker: Center Jared Wilson is a steady player. And then left tackle is, um I don't want to say that controversial, but, you know, very um flavor of the flavor of the month. Eye of the beholder, Will Campbell at left tackle, who... You know, was like the fourth overall pick, came highly touted, but similar to Morgan, has length issues.

Speaker: But I feel like, and this is you know, I'm not a Jordan. I wasn't a fan of the Jordan Morgan pick. I'm still hesitant on him. I want him to play well because the Packers need him to play well.

Speaker: But in this matchup, I do think Morgan is the more functional player because what happened with Campbell last year is... He overcomes his lack of length arm length with athleticism and his ah his movement skills. And what you saw down the stretch last season and in the playoffs is when his...

Speaker: used over and over and over again in pass protection. I don't think that'll be the case for the Packers facing off against him, but you know, you've got to, you've got to test it. You're going to put Lucas over him, test how spry his lower body is, how good his anchor is against a pure power rusher.

Speaker: And it, you know, we saw it last week where, Everyone just teed off on Rasheed Walker, you know, ah another player who struggles against power rushes. And so they're going to put Campbell to the test on Sunday. And that's the big pressure point. Because if you can get to May, May is a good quarterback. At times he plays like an upper echelon quarterback.

Speaker: But... Really, ever since the Super Bowl, you've kind of seen him get happy feet. He started to not trust the guys in front of him. You saw that at times against the Bears a couple weeks ago on Thursday night where, like, he kind of was feeling pressure that wasn't there.

Speaker: And... Gannon has been better at what Allen did to the Patriots on that Thursday night game a couple weeks ago. um You saw even Halfley have some success kind of getting in um May's head a little bit when the Dolphins played the Patriots last week. So um this going to be a big Gannon game. and um it This is one of those where we're going to find out how real the their production was last week against a Panthers O-line that has struggled with injuries, struggled with shuffling and stuff, but sort of a similar situation against the Patriots.

Speaker: And a big key will be, can the interior rushers, you know, obviously if Lucas plays some three tech, but also in the event where like, Wyatt, are you one more week back? You know hopefully the mini buy helped him get a little bit of explosiveness back.

Speaker: Brooks can continue the season he's on. um Just got to continue getting that interior rush. So um those are the key matchups as I see it. Anything catch your eye on um the Patriots offense versus our defense?

Speaker: Not really. i think you really hit the points on it that, uh, you know, just get pressure on may cause and even if he's not showing it, you know, he is still suffering from a right so shoulder injury, which is just throwing shoulders. so it, you know,

Speaker: get him jumpy get him scared a little bit and and he's gonna give it up uh he already has eight interceptions on the season so you know he is prone to throwing some i know you know for a team that was in the super bowl last year they haven't looked the greatest this year so maybe it's that super bowl uh the same for the seahawks that what they call it the super bowl hangover yeah so It could be that too.

Speaker: um Looking through some of their stats and all that, you know they they they're struggling with the receivers because of, like you pointed earlier, A.J. Brown dealing with his and not looking like himself. Romeo's out.

Speaker: ah Raritan is a rookie, but I think he's been dealing with some injuries too, hasn't he? Wasn't he out for... I think he's been dinged up here and there, yeah.

Speaker: Uh, so yeah, again, like I stated earlier, this is one of those weird games where these two teams match up perfectly when it comes to like injuries where they're struggling at and, and stuff like that. So it's going to be a a game that I have a feeling it's going to be a slop fast and in a way.

Speaker: so yeah, no, I think that's about it on coverage. I mean, the, this is going to be the real test when it comes to the packers defense of the run game because like i stated earlier they don't have a tremendous run game they have a couple of guys that are pretty good but they just aren't having the success and so can the packers hold them down like they did the bears or are they going to let you know like a uh a

Speaker: have a game like the lions or whatever where one guy's gonna get a hundred and some yards it rushing so that's gonna be the real test here uh tyron hopper i i missed if you mentioned him or not you know this will be his second game getting meaningful snaps because you've got to stack the successes you can't just keep a hot hand down So, you know, he's going to have to get some meaningful snaps just to see if, you know, maybe last week was a fluke or is he going to be able to continue on being the guy there.

Speaker: oh So it's going to be a real shot for him because he's going to have to cover the tight ends, whether it is a Henry or whether it is a Raritan. ah Well, I guess, no, that would be more a Bullard thing. So he's going to have to be get the guy out of the backfield with the running back.

Speaker: So... Yeah, it's going to be quite the chess match between Gannon and... oh is it? McDaniels? I think it's McDaniels.

Speaker: And like you said, you've got to be able to stop the run because McDaniels might be... If you follow any Patriots fans, they're more frustrated with McDaniels' play sequencing than we are with LaFleur's because he is even more run-run-pass coded than LaFleur's, which is...

Speaker: Just an odd sentence to say, but um it doesn't take too much searching to find out how Patriots fans feel about McDaniel's job as the OC. So um don't don't give him any freebies in the run game.

Speaker: Shifting over to the other side of the ball. So the Patriots, I do think they have the more stacked talent on their defensive side of the ball. As we said, uncertain about Christian Barmore's um availability. There's some rumors that he's in trade talks. um You know, just to kind of talk about that real quick.

Speaker: He's a guy that I really liked coming out of Bama. Would have been fine with him if the the Packers had taken him back in 2021. But he has a bad off-field case from last offseason. And for a team that's dealing with whatever you want to say it is with the Jacobs situation, I don't see them taking on Barmore, especially when, like, there's questions if he lost his starting spot and whatever. So...

Speaker: Who knows with that? The prize up front is Milton Williams, the Patriots' big free agent signing from the 2025 free agent class. he's been you know He hasn't had the greatest statistical season, but he has been a he has still been a force in the interior of the defense and with the Packers' interior line questions that remains to be sorted out.

Speaker: um The linebackers, um like I said, this group is missing its top veteran in Harold Landry III, former draft crush of mine. um He is on PUP, still hasn't had his window open. And then Gabe Yakis, who has been their best pass rusher, he is um you know uncertain to go dealing with um some injury this week. Draymond Jones is the starter at one outside linebacker spot. He missed some time this week. And then the other starter is Elijah Ponder. um

Speaker: Between those two players, you've got seven sacks. Jones has one. Ponder has six of them. So, um you know, that's tilted one side. um Robert Spillane, who has been all around the league, and Christian Ellis are the two inside linebackers.

Speaker: Not like the most spectacular players, but assignment sure. i' Not going to blow you away with anything, but they'll be in the right spots. And um we'll, you know... um I believe Spillane had an interception of Love when he was with the Raiders back in 2023. And... um Ellis... um The thing is, they're both undersized. They're both 230. So...

Speaker: If this O-line can get any sort of movement in the run game, this would be a week where you want to try and attack those inside linebackers. We'll see if that happens. I'm not holding my breath.

Speaker: And in the secondary, um the two question marks are Carlton Davis and Kevin Bayard. um Otherwise, the the the big target, or not target, but the the danger player is Christian Gonzalez.

Speaker: I'm really curious how Vrabel is going to decide to... um to um deploy him? Does he have him chase Watson or does he umbrella the rest of the defense around Watson and have Gonzalez kind of just badger and follow Golden around? I think that's the route I would go because i don't want to say it would be a waste, but I feel like it wouldn't maximize um, Gonzalez's, Gonzalez's usefulness if he's just forced to chase Watson all over the field. And then there's still the, like, if he slips and he's in man, like,

Speaker: you still run the risk of like, well, shit, Watson's wide open kind of thing. So I feel like, and because Vrabel is a ah Belichick disciple, this is what they used to do, you know, the year that they had, um the year that they had Darrell Rivas in like top form was, Rivas would actually cover the number two receiver and then they would blanket coverage the top receiver and try to like force the ball to your secondary option. So,

Speaker: This is why I added a late over-under question. i think this is going to be one of those games where Jordan's going to have to spread the ball around and have you know completions to like eight different guys kind of thing. And no one's going to have more than like three catches. If anyone does, it'll be a tight end or a running back. Or our if it's a receiver, I'll be shocked. So I'm going to be one of those kind of games. But on this side of the ball, what's catching your eye?

Speaker: Well, first off, I want to say that you were wrong about Spillane. It wasn't one interception. He had two interceptions that game. So, ah um, and he had three all season and, and two of them came from Jordan love.

Speaker: So there is that I think you're right. Christian Gonzalez is going to be the guy that you have to keep an eye on because he is that type of, of corner.

Speaker: I I'm not sure of what they have. you know as carlton davis he's on the injury report as as stated earlier you know they've had issues with carlton davis in the past too is he going to play is he not going to play who knows uh at this point um you know and then you got charles woods who's who's stat wise hasn't been horrible But play-wise, i don't know. Because, again, I don't really watch Patriots football.

Speaker: of And then they've got Marcus Jones. And, again, stat-wise, isn't terrible. Play-wise, I could... He had the pick six of Rodgers, but also got got in the same game when the last time these two teams played each other. So, yeah, go figure. Yeah.

Speaker: right and so far this year he's got one interception uh pds one sack so you know and go with that what you will stat wise uh you know if you look at stat wise he's actually doing a little bit better than christian gonzalez but that could just be because they're targeting ah jones more because it is christian gonzalez so Really, it's going to again, it's going to be a test for the wide receivers.

Speaker: how is First off, is Watson going to come back and be able to, you know, obviously he's going to play, but with the injured in rib, you know, is he going to be able to produce like he had before?

Speaker: Are they working on golden with the drops again? We're going to have to be dealing with that all season just because this is basically his rookie season beings that he wasn't getting the playtime last year.

Speaker: Savion, I see Savion being a lot of looks, maybe gadgety, maybe not gadgety. i I do appreciate the fact that LeFleur is reaching into the grab bag and saying, hey, let's try this.

Speaker: You know, the double flea flicker, whatever that was, you know, that was pretty solid. though the, the flea flicker tight end screen, the Mike didn't think was the tight end screen, but actually was a legit tight end screen, you know, doing that kind of thing. And it's not just the jet sweeps. We haven't seen a really a jet sweep.

Speaker: Per se, we've we've seen little bits here or there, but you know that was the one thing Packer fans got really sick and tired of was the attempt to jet sweeps. Haven't seen that, but he has been getting ah creative. And I do like that big because that that goes to show they're actually trying something.

Speaker: They know one aspect of their their game is is not working, so they have to try other things to get it get things moving on offense so hopefully we see a little bit more of that obviously vrabel and the floor know each other very well considering you know leflore was rabel's oc in in tennessee so it it'll be interesting to see how they play their game of chess

Speaker: Uh, so yeah, that, that'll be, that'll be a fun matchup alone just to see Vrabel versus LaFleur and how they, how they move their pieces about. But yeah, when we get into over unders, which we probably will be here in a minute, uh, it, this game could be,

Speaker: Again, it's going to be a slop fest, so it could possibly end up where it's like a 30, 33 game, you know, 31, 33 to 30 type game. But you hope not. You hope it's a little bit better off for the Packers, but it could honestly be that type of game just because of injuries and the question marks all over the place.

Speaker: And it feels like they just don't play normal games in New England. Like, you know, 2010 had the where nobody's underdog with the old lineman returning a kick return to the four yard line. And then to be fair, that was a Matt Flynn game. So it was going to be weird anyway. And then the 2018, you know, that was in the twilight of the first Rogers McCarthy marriage. And like.

Speaker: that game went so many weird ways and stuff. And like Green Bay had its chances in that one, but like just couldn't get over them. It was one of those where like they were always in it score wise, but it never felt like they were always in it score wise. That was the zappy game, wasn't it?

Speaker: No, no, the Zappy game was the one here in Lambeau last time. Okay. That went to overtime in 2022. The was the actual, like, the one, the the second time that Brady and Rodgers actually played when they were with the the Patriots and the Packers. so um But that's all I got on the matchups. We can go into over-unders if you're ready.

Speaker: Okay. I hit the button. Place your bets. It's the cheese spread. I hope these aren't loud when the episode comes out because I've got my volume cranked up and they're blowing my ears out.

Speaker: no All right. They're as loud as them. Okay. So over-unders, I'll be honest. I just came up with them. I've had kind of a shit day. I'm not going to get into it on here. ah ah Some of the people know about it. But anyway,

Speaker: don't blow me up for these over-unders because they are just kind of retreads and shit and all that other goodies so this one i think is going to be a constant until they get something figured out over under total rushing yards 70 and a half yards i'm going over just because i don't want to be pessimistic about this shit anymore but do i really believe in it not much if they get over it'll be like 72

Speaker: I took the under, I am in a pessimistic mood today again, because of reasons. So I did go under. ice and with the way they are doing their decisions. And again, i know I'm going to get nailed for saying the Caleb Johnson stuff, but because they continuously go to Marshawn Lloyd over Johnson, i don't think it's gonna do much josh jacobs is gonna josh jacobs he's gonna be part of this team until he's no longer part of this team excuse me i'm getting gassy now um thanks matt ramage um

Speaker: the uh but uh it just ah you kind of pointed out but i also have to say that the offensive line wasn't great either But Jacobs just didn't look good in his first game back.

Speaker: Who knows if that's because he hadn't played in six weeks. I still don't think the offensive line was great. So i am being pessimistic. I don't think that they're going to get over 70 and a half this week. I think they are going to rely on the run game a little bit more. So this one is another one that's going to be a stalwart on the over-unders until something gets figured out. Does Kevin Zeitler start this week?

Speaker: I'm trying to will it into existence, but I am dubious after like, um the only the only truth teller in the coaching room, Stanovic, sort of admitted like, oh yeah, it's taking him longer to come back from his off season repair work that he had. a you know there I think Stano said it was a knee, I read it was a quad, but you know maybe it was where the quad connects to the knee kind of thing and stuff. It's all in the same area. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The hip bones connect to the back. But but hi yeah, I'm I'm doing this more out of like, please, then really believing in it.

Speaker: Again, my pessimism hit me. I said no. And one of the reasons that it really hit me with this one is i caught part of the LeFleur presser and i don't know who the reporter was that said it was that, oh, well, you're right. Guard play. Wasn't great.

Speaker: Uh, and he goes, oh, well, you didn't think that our, our guard play was that good. And a reporter was like, no. And he goes, well, I guess we'll have to disagree on that.

Speaker: And yeah, so it was, it was not, ah That means I have a feeling it's going to be banks again at left guard Tomlinson again at right guard and Zeitler wherever they put Zeitler. If he even, I mean, he's going to be active, but he's probably going to be back on special teams. And i I'm one, I gotta believe it's getting to the point where he's getting pissed and it's like, because you signed me because you needed me and now I'm doing nothing.

Speaker: And yeah. All right. Next one. Combination combo Watson golden over 225 and twenty five and a half total yards. So I alluded this to our to this already. I think no, and I don't think this is like a bad sign for the Packers' ability to win this game. I think this is just more of a, they're going to have to be more diverse in their passing attack because where um where New England is strongest in its secondary is where Green Bay would like to go with the ball. So

Speaker: You know, and this is where it's like like, Tucker has gone through ways of looking back and looking a little bit limited and stuff. This would be a week where like, especially with the extra time off from the mini buy, like if he had a a game where he had a little bit more pep in his step and little more juice to him, this would be the one where you'd really want to see it. But also like, um, John who's going to be active this week, um, because I, one, I don't think Wiley is going to be able to play, but even if he does, he's coming off a concussion and I don't think they're going to want to go through another game with just two tight ends. So, um, I think John who, and then even Redmond might get some more targets too. So, um, I think they're just going to be spreading the ball around more this week. Well, don't forget. They also got Dabney on the, the practice squad.

Speaker: Uh, well with that, I, I took the over because I do, again, i think with the rushing game, not being there, they are going to have to, and the way Jordan has been going, he has been hitting a lot of deep throws to both golden and Watson. So I do think that continues.

Speaker: Um, like I said earlier with the rush game, I don't think that's going to be there. So I think it's going to be, spread I do think it's going to be spread around, but I do think the most chunks are going to be to a Watson-Golden.

Speaker: So with what Mike said, I did add another one on there. So, Mike, you can answer it. Does J. Michael Sturdivant go our three and a half catches for J. Michael Sturdivant?

Speaker: I think he's going get two or three. um He might get like four to five targets, but I think he's only going to make two or three catches. Well, if what you say is true...

Speaker: and they're spreading the ball around i do think he gets a few more i hope it's more than bo melton i do i'm hoping this week this is a bow melton gets benched type deal and he isn't inactive just because both Sturdivant and kind of Coleman Owens, even with his, uh, fumble to begin the game last week are starting to outshine what Melton does on special teams.

Speaker: So yeah, this one I'm throwing on there just for the hell of it. Trace Mack over under one and a half field goals. Over. I think that they're... I think they're going to move the ball, but he's they're going to have to kick some field goals this game. That's one of the like blunt truths about this offense. They're getting to the red zone, but they're not scoring in it nearly enough.

Speaker: I went over... And i think the whole reason I put this on there was because again, the floor was asked, you know, is smack your kicker going forward? And he said, yes, I don't, I think they're going to continue to go to him in spots. I don't think they're going to get to the point where they're going to do, you know, go for it on fourth down continuously. Cause I don't know what's going to happen when he kicks.

Speaker: I think they're just going to keep throwing them out there and say, here, is your shot. But next year is your your last chance, and you know we'll go from there. So you did throw this one on here, non-Tucker tight end, touchdown, yes or no.

Speaker: Yeah, I could see it. Yeah, I'll say it's going to be Redman. I'm not even โ€“ I would think it would be Janu more than a Redman, but who knows at this point.
