Jared Davis: Sometimes we'll go to the parade, but my family, we like to hang out because that's when all my faraway family comes in and we get to hang out together, so we usually don't go to those.

Jared Davis: But sometimes we do. What is a word that shows Thanksgiving?

Jared Davis: Gratitude. What does gratitude mean to you? um Gratitude is like being grateful for things you have and not taking things for granted. How can you show gratitude to people around you?

Jared Davis: um Just being grateful for the little things, even if they're not very big, show that you like it. When was the time you experienced gratitude? um With my parents. They put a roof over my head and food on my plate.

Jared Davis: Do you do any sports? I do. um I play tennis. How's tennis going? It's good. It's really good. I heard y'all played over the weekend. How'd that go?

Jared Davis: It went good. It wasn't like a team thing. It was more like You can play if you want, but we had a lot of Randall kids there, and it was really fun. We all did really good.

How do you think that's going to go? um All-region tri-offs are tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19th, and I'm really nervous, but from all the testing we've done and all that other stuff, I think I can do it. I've got this. I've been working really hard.

Jared Davis: What advice would you give to someone if they don't want to do if they don't want to get involved at school with like activities and

Jared Davis: I don't involved. Oh, well then don't get involved. and just And just like, just focus on screen.

Jared Davis: And just, you know, stay focused. And like, yeah.

Jared Davis: So when has... A time that you have felt really hurt by someone. Felt really hurt? Yeah. and At Canyon.

Jared Davis: you want to go into deeper details or you don't want to? um There's a lot of really mean and a lot of kids there that just, you know, if you weren't a part of their friend group, then they did not like you.

Jared Davis: So they were just really mean. I heard that you switched from Canyon to Randall. How'd that go? Well, yes.

Jared Davis: So it was a good switch. come I really like Randall and his community better because the people are just so much nicer here. in like um I just really like it.

Jared Davis: I have so many more friends, and I'm just so glad I made the switch. Do you any other sports other than tennis? or um I used to, but I don't anymore.

Jared Davis: What sports did you play? Basketball. You should join the basketball team at Randall. You know, I'm really into tennis right now, and I've been doing really good lately, so I think I'm going to stay in tennis.

Jared Davis: What are some of your favorite hobbies to do?

Jared Davis: Well, I don't have very much free time because I'm at the courts from the end of school to like six o'clock, then go home, take shower and go to bed. So, um I don't have very much time, but I love to do arts and crafts.

Jared Davis: anne I love to spend time with my family and do things like board games. And all that. Like, like to play Azul or Ticket to Ride.

Jared Davis: I love those games. Um... Are you going to do art or are you going to just stick with theater? Um, I'm going to stick theater because think it's just fun to get to act and get to set up, have a cool prop area. in my I just, I like theater.

Jared Davis: What are your favorite things to do with tennis? um

Jared Davis: I really like to hang out with my friends. They make tennis lot more fun. It's just we all get to hang out all the time. We're always around each other and everyone's just so nice.

Jared Davis: And everyone's just so sweet. And I love all my friends. a um If you could be in one teacher's class all day, who would you choose?

Jared Davis: Probably tennis. Tennis. Yes, because I didn't hang out with my friend. Coach C is the best. Like, number one.

Jared Davis: And I love just everyone in that class. I heard that you're number one. 18, right? Yes. How's that going? It's good. like I like being up there with them because, you know, it's fun to get to hit the harder balls.

Jared Davis: And that's where my friends are. So, yeah. um When was the time that you really wanted to give up during your match but you pushed through?

Jared Davis: Like this weekend, there was my second round match. That I played on Saturday. i was struggling really hard. ah had some parts where I wasn't playing really good, but I kept pushing.

Jared Davis: ah didn't end up winning, but that's okay because I pushed and I got really close. That's good. hey You should never give up. Yeah, I agree.

Jared Davis: What's your favorite holiday?

Jared Davis: Christmas. Because we get, not just because of the presents, I know y'all were thinking that, but um i like Christmas because I get hang out with my family and day stay with them. i Especially my family that lives way out.

Jared Davis: I love being able to see them. And Christmas is the time where family gets to come together. and yeah.

Jared Davis: Are you a straight A student? um At the moment, yes. And I plan to be. That is a good goal. I try to keep my grades up because want to have good grades.

Jared Davis: And if I don't have good grades, then there's possibility of me getting kicked out of tennis, and the out of out of band. And I'm an honors band, and so if I don't have good grades, then I could get bumped down.

Jared Davis: And I really want to stay in all those, so I'm trying to keep my grades good. um Can you talk more about the process with All Region? Because you talk a lot about band and I was just curious.

Jared Davis: So All Region is like a CISD competition. You go in and you audition. For percussion, you play snare, timpani, and marimba.

Jared Davis: Three different instruments. plan From Canyon, West Plains, and Randall, they take the best out of all of them. Like the top three from Randall, top three from Canyon, top three from West Plains.

Jared Davis: And they do that for all instruments. Wind, brass, they do that for all of them. Then we all come together and it's like a concert. And we have like a little concert with the best of the best.

Jared Davis: and So I'm nervous for the auditions, but I think I got this. And there's two bands you could make it into, right? Yes.

Jared Davis: Do you like your schedule? I do. I would change a few things if I could have more classes with some of my other friends. But, you know, I really like my schedule.

Jared Davis: Are you in all honors? Yes.

Jared Davis: And I think it's just, I think honors is just good.

Jared Davis: Because in high school, if you take honors, you can take some other, like, classes that will help you in college. um Where do you want to be when you grow up? I...

Jared Davis: I'm not quite sure I've gone through a few options, but I'm still looking. was thinking about a nurse, though.

Jared Davis: A nurse or a doctor. Isn't your mom a nurse? My mom is a nurse.

Jared Davis: Well, that's a wrap. Thank you. Bye.
