Speaker: I'm going to hit with my hammer. I'm going to hit it. I'm going to wreck it. I'm going smash it. Best day in my life. and Fuck off.

Speaker: That's a natural one. ah Yes, that is a natural one.

Speaker: Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop, but I'm Draconis. We are a live play 5e 2024 D&D podcast at the magical homebrew board of areas in the kingdom of hell. Joining you in this week's episode, you've got Puby, who plays the rule consultant cleric human, Emron.

Speaker: Parkour! We've got Ian, who plays the dragonborn ah barbarian paladin, Drago. Hi!

Speaker: Fucking mouthful, that. I'm Mark and I'm playing the Cuban Blade Singer, Seth Farah, Reva, and Laugh, but by no means least, it's the saga spliced of the Soulstir, the Sultan of Suspense, the Saturn-lined Shaft Sorcerer, and the squeegee of sweaty sin, Dungeon Master Danny. I love all of those things.

Speaker: That was fantastic. Good collection. Thank you. I'm running out. um And speaking of running out, feels like we are running out of time with our potions before they out.

Speaker: Am I right? Because segue into... M-I-A-M-I, running out of time. What is that? It's from... Well, it's the Lin-Manuel film he did when he's a monkey. What is it? Oh.

Speaker: there's a whole song up There's a whole song about running out of time. When he pretends... When he voices over a monkey, you mean? Yeah. but but Are we talking about the robyn the robin the Robbie Williams biopic?

Speaker: No. no um It's Vivo. There's another monkey film? There's a film called Vivo where he plays a honey bear and ah he sings songs. And it's Lin-Manuel.

Speaker: We learned something new. Okay, but anyway, on on let's go back to reality here. So in hell... um Specifically the seventh layer of hell, the vile plain.

Speaker: But the fourth floor of hell? and Well, you've just descended on to the second floor. So thank you very much, Mark, for the handover. Here we are, um our wonderful listeners. The party have made it to the second floor of the floating fortress on the vile plain as they have successfully recovered Prego and now are following... instructions, i as I understand it, party, to get to the summoning chamber in the western room on this floor in order for Prego to pull Castan from wherever he is currently on the vile plane to this location.

Speaker: On this floor, however, Seth, you are leading with a stealth check. And then I'll ask the rest of the party to make one too. I'll be true to, I rolled it last episode and kept it. It was a 17. Okay. Thank you very much.

Speaker: One from Drago, one from Prego and one from Enron, please. A 12. Thank you.

Speaker: And Prego got a 21. ah

Speaker: seemingly misjudging the noises from the floor above to just be the rampant rogue. chained devils. It doesn't look as though any forces have amassed at the base of this stairs, Seth.

Speaker: And as you kind of peer around this spiral staircase, which opens into a kind of smallish corridor, you're immediately confronted with this grotesque statue of this gargoyle-like creature, but it is stone only. You're immediately kind of in that sense of um threat, seeing this, after a few seconds of studying it, realize that this is not, this is just an inanimate object.

Speaker: This chamber um kind of walls the facility to the to the the west the west wall where the summoning ritual is taking place.

Speaker: To the right, however, you you emerge into a ah more broader corridor. And this corridor has an entrance to the north and has an entrance to the south and then has an object, a stone sort of table ah in the far eastern end of this room.

Speaker: As I reveal these for you on your map, where would you like to head?

Speaker: Uh... We're still aiming to we still aiming to go down. We need to head west. cut We need to get Prego to the western room of the floor. We're going west get Prego to the western room.

Speaker: Okay. We're going west. He's going to go west. He's going to go left. where there is no There is no left option. so As you head out, you've got a kind of um an archway to the north, a door to the south.

Speaker: I was going sneaky sneak up to the archway and just peek around it to get a better, if it is a kind of a portcullis situation, look through and just see what's along there. Make another stealth check for me, please. Scouty boy hard.

Speaker: That's what I'm doing. I'm going for it. I'm killing time because I've lost my tab and just as it loads up, it's a lot of stealth in that he's going to go under here.

Speaker: We've still drank our potion of heroism, so we still have I've never seen for so much blissful stealth before. Thank you, Mark. It's majestic, isn't it? The way he's crossing over each different tile, almost like a dancer.

Speaker: But notice he doesn't put his feet on the cracks because he doesn't want to fall and break his back. 17. 17. As you quietly press yourself against that wall and just strafe out to see what is in this chamber to the north, you see series of kind of lit furnaces that border the northeasterly wall of the fortress here.

Speaker: And then just laying prone, resting in the warmth of those lit furnaces is a is it is it hound, a creature made of sheer black energy. And it is sleeping.

Speaker: We got told not to go there, didn't we? Didn't Bray go say something beware the hellhounds? um

Speaker: Seth respects him more after, in the last episode, he shooed off his kind of martial prowess and got involved in the combat as well. So he's going to listen to what he said and um it's kind of like semi-shake his head.

Speaker: Is the door to the South closed? I'm guessing I'm running out of like action before the rest of the top group come barreling down at this point. wait We aren't in initiative because there's no possible threats unless unless unless you wish to stay in it.

Speaker: I will look i'll defer back to the group to see if anyone else is doing anything or want to do anything else or they're happy with me and just kind of scouting ahead and see what they're doing. ah The next person down was Prego. Prego have just emerged in the room and kind of remained quiet, looking to see what the group are doing here. The next one down was Emron.

Speaker: Emron will also be really quiet and wait for others to make decisions because he's not the stealthy guy to lead this. Then Drago, you're the last to emerge down the stairs. Why the fuck are waiting on the stairs? Come on.

Speaker: ah ah And you kind of move up to where Seth is looking out into this chamber to the north. Oh, that's why. to Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker: Do we go south instead? I'll see one of those dogs, the hellhounds. The hellhound dogs that Prego told us not to fuck with. Okay. Well, let's go down south.

Speaker: Yeah. Okay. Can we see through the door in any way? any Yeah, so... ah Again, these are archways. And as you look down the archway, you can just see a series of chambers. And at the end of it, ah there's a small antechamber immediately in front of you. Then it opens into a slightly bigger chamber again. And then a third chamber still to the south. And it's kind of like a mirror copy of the room to the north as we look at the southeasterly edge of of ah this fortress. And again...

Speaker: Two furnaces burning against the exterior wall and another prone resting hound basking in the heat of the furnaces. Okay.

Speaker: It's just going to go back to Prego. Why are we scared of these things again? They can see through any illusions. Oh, right. I thought it was something like, oh, fuck it. None of us are going to hide.

Speaker: Let's go kill him. um I've got an idea, though. i've got Can I try something new? And Ron Luntz. Give me more drinks. And Drago's just going to head over to the stairs and just kind of tilt an ear up. Does it sound like anyone has come into any chains, basically?

Speaker: No, they're just rattling at the top of the stairs, but nothing seems to be descending. Yeah, go, go. Do your thing.

Speaker: Alright, do we want to go round via the north or the south? Can I just ask, were they doorways or were they doorway or do they just archways, Danny? Just archways. Okay, so we can't block the door. Oh, unless the statue to the north of me can be moved.

Speaker: Try it. Emron sort of looks at the statue. We could use this to block the door to the south. Yeah, good idea. Emran sort of looks and says whether it will gives it a sort of a test wiggle as it were to sort of see without doing too much can can I move it make an investigation check okay I will uh Drucker is it probably better as best I help him if he has to lift it yeah what do you mean well I don't know you know who's stronger you or I me like obviously oh yeah so you will help you if he needs it I played you I played you

Speaker: He's taking a while to look at the thing though. It's not rolling my D4s for me. It's weird. Yeah, i see I've seen them all across my screen right now. But they're not on the combat roll, which is really weird.

Speaker: You rolled a 12 on a D4. No, I but I got 15. It's not showing my other rolls. I apologise. I don't know why it's doing this. Just give me the damn number, Schneebly. Okay, um before I add my D4, it's 15.

Speaker: 15. So you kind of inspect. What are you asking for when you say before I add the D4? You choose whether to use it. ah i well Well, no, no. it's ah I'm just looking for a dice because my D&D Beyond is not. Well, roll a It appears on my screen. I will tell you what you get. Okay, thank you because it was not it's not appearing on mine. That's the problem I have right now. Hang on.

Speaker: Okay, you roll a natural 20. No, you roll a 1. Okay, so that's a 16 in total, Danny. Apologies. 16. So you inspect this ah grotesque and it is...

Speaker: clearly been placed there it's not hewn there it's not attached it's not kind of sculpted in it is freestanding testing the weight you kind of approximate that much stone densely packed I'm sorry to anyone who doesn't use this ah measure of ah ah of weight but about 200 kilograms you place because fuck that trying to figure that out in pounds well thought looked like in pounds Mark you're the conversion god no?

Speaker: that' good idea How many bags of that autumn long clippings? We're in spring now, obviously, so be it would be um grass cuttings, fresh grass cuttings. and I'm not going to do it. About 200 kilograms, whatever that is in pounds. Someone will add that in. I reckon my strength score is high enough to be able to move that. £420. £420. £420.

Speaker: it's four hundred twenty pounds 120 or 400. Roughly, it's 2.2 pounds per kilo. 420, which I don't think you'll possibly be able to move on. I can push, drag or lift 360. No, 630, sorry. then you should be able to do this by yourself.

Speaker: okay then you should be able to do this by yourself Yeah, I've got my numbers along the way around, sorry. um Yeah, I'm going to move this and put it in front of the... Hold on, what can you bench? Everyone can bench 630 pounds. No, he can push on the ground. Fucking bullshit. 630? Yeah, i't don't want to show you the screen.

Speaker: No. Gago's just fading to the background. Okay, so ah which which entrance are you covering? The stairwell that comes down? ah No, I'm covering the the the doorway that goes towards the south um that Seth's near. I feel the statue will cover that doorway and therefore prevent the did the Hound from the south getting to us.

Speaker: that correct? ah Great, yeah. I'll allow you to do that. So that kind of red line indicates that you've blocked that doorway off. Yes. also so Which gives us which just just just means the hound can't come and get us from that way. So there's quite a lot of weighty stone that you're moving. How are you going to cover the sound that you're going to be causing?

Speaker: Coughing. No. um Everyone's going to look to the others.

Speaker: What? This isn't going be quiet. So what do you want to Oh, Seth's going to peek around the corner to where the hellhound is sleeping and he's going to have a listen for a second, nod his head, and then he's going to cast Minor Illusion and near the hellhound is going to make the soft, faint sound of more furnace fire louder near it to kind of almost like a baby white noise that situation where you just drown it out with more of the same noise you bring it up and so it's just more fiery noise around it to hopefully cover any kind of cracks and bumps that or rumbles the emron emits does you cast taking a long time as you cast that

Speaker: You do need the kind of gestures for that. The spell occurs. Prego slaps your wrist.

Speaker: What are you doing? I just told you. It'll see all illusions.

Speaker: All right, but it's sleeping.

Speaker: That'd be nice. Okay, okay. well I won't do then. Okay, I won't do it. How about you just get ready to attack it when I put this when i start moving this? Yeah.

Speaker: We'll start sneaking around it and get into position. Yeah. Okay. Let's do that. Draco, do you want to take point? um Or stick to the order? just take you You seem to be quite good at this stealth game. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: Okay. I'll go first and look what's around the corner, because if there's ten more, maybe we fucked it. Okay. All right. So, Seth's going to head north to the corner, and near the hell hand, he's just going to peek his head around the apex to see what is the rest of the room before that he kind of invests himself in the space. Okay.

Speaker: So you pass a small archway with a chamber to your left, which just has a small kind of ritual chamber inside it. But as you kind of peer beyond that, you can see more of the Western a ah larger room that's beginning to emerge.

Speaker: And again, breaks out into a much greater chamber with one kind of ah structural, smaller antechamber enclosed within. Okay,

Speaker: this is good. make a stealth check as you are literally over this sleeping hound.

Speaker: Not a problem. That is going to be 21.

Speaker: So I'll move to the ah the northern side so that he can still see down the corridor towards where the rest of the group are to kind of beckon them forward, but also see a cross to cover if there's any other movement from the other areas. And it seems like he can see no one else apart from this one hellhound. He's also going to hold a spell. i No, he's not.

Speaker: He's not going to hold anything. um if If the hellhound's asleep, any attacks within within five feet of it are automatic critical hits, just one to say. Okay. Drago, what are you doing? um Drago is going to stealth and position himself next to Seth to get ready to slice and dice.

Speaker: Go ahead and roll stealth for me. Let's fucking do it.

Speaker: That might work.

Speaker: that might That might work, guys. We might be okay. 16. 16.

Speaker: I'd say I've been burning bonus actions so much. Can you let me know when 10 minutes is up? He remains asleep, the hellhound. Prego is going to stay and help cushion and carry this weight to Emron in an attempt to dampen any sound if if he can.

Speaker: Yep. Emron's going to move it and literally his job is to block the south entrance. It's the other two's job to deal with the hellhound if it wakes up or hit it. if Because Drago can see when Emron's blocked the entrance. I assume at that point Drago is going to stab the bastard for automatic critical hit.

Speaker: Okay. I want you to make an athletics check to see how controlled you can move this. I don't doubt you can. It's about the control. That's correct. i said twenty five plus That's a total. with a Good lift.

Speaker: clean lift like it's clean you're you're you're happy about three green lights yeah drago's been giving you side eye this whole time as well just like moving away just like looking at you and shaking his head what the fuck is going on you definitely placed this incredibly stony mass instead of a very weighty stony mass perfectly in position that it obscures pretty much 95 of all kind of visible light through this archway Okay.

Speaker: Everyone gives a nod to towards Drago and Seth.

Speaker: Together. Seth will defer to you to hit first. Hit at the same time.

Speaker: don't know if the rules of D&D will allow us to do that. right But da you go first. Okay.

Speaker: I'm going to hit with Dengon's deception. Automatic critical hit. It's automatic critical hit because it's asleep. So you might as well roll damage and Seth, if you're to do the same, you might as well roll damage. I can't say quick it.

Speaker: What are we doing? You've hit, so you've crit, so got to double your dice rolls. And you can use the end on Deception ability if you want to hit because it's a crit. and Someone remember 32 for me.

Speaker: um And I've got ah got a thing, I've got brutal crit now. Which one additional weapon damage die. What's that? ah So what is Dengon's deception? How many die? You roll... So Dengon standard is 2d6 plus 6. So you roll an additional d6.

Speaker: Additional d6, thank you. ah two Sorry, additional 2d6. What the fuck? Brutal critical is mad. Whoa! Okay, that was... 47 points of slashing damage. Okay.

Speaker: Thank you very much. Did you do it check for your um auto kill? I did not check for my auto kill because I get um only so many charges. You don't have to use it then, do you?

Speaker: can choose not to burn a charge. I have to refer to a Mark on that rule. No, you don't have to use it. it's it's ah It's a... Yeah, yeah. its trust yeah So, no, I i do not use a Dengon's charge.

Speaker: and Me? What was your damage, Seth? Oh, I had hit with a 20 and a 22. It's auto-crit. It's auto-crit.

Speaker: For both of them? but For every hit, it's a vertical. Well, your first, it will wake up. Okay. But it's that round, it's still both attacks, isn't it? That's true. Sorry, yes. yeah Oh, shit, I can do it again.

Speaker: Should I double my damage, then? Is that the easiest way of doing this? Double your dice rolls, not your modifiers. Because attacks happen at the same time, so they are essentially... Dice rolls....get advantage from the thing. This is the whole thing about stealth kills are quite quite powerful.

Speaker: 38. That almost doubled my thingy.

Speaker: Okay, so the first one was 47 and the second one's 39. Perfect. when thanking But i want he's looking at Seth. He wants to know how much damage Seth's doing.

Speaker: How much have you done, did you say?

Speaker: 47 for the first and 39 for the second. Let's go, bitch. Yeah, nowhere near. But this is my offhand. I only have my non-powerful weapon. You've only got one eye. i've but no, as in I haven't even got Shadowblade eye. This is just my backup scimitar. 51. Nice.

Speaker: in total? In total for both. Between all four of those strikes, the Hound is slain without the ability to even yelp in between.

Speaker: okay and Not a respect over to Seth. Hell yeah, we butchered that dog. pick that dog. Go pick that dog. Come and kill your dog. Go kill that dog.

Speaker: how Too late, we killed that dog. How are we yeah advancing next? Emron moves up stealthily, having watched him just shish kebab this hellhound until it disappears.

Speaker: ah Prego will follow suit.

Speaker: I guess just, ah yeah, Seth would kind of look, wipe the demon blood off his sword and then make his way to the next kind of alcove. And again, just kind peeking around, trying to make sense of the... ah It looks out there's a doorway or something directly ahead. or and it yeah Is that the room we're aiming to get towards?

Speaker: As you look through that doorway now...

Speaker: you see another chamber, a kind of ritualistic chamber inside, but more structurally supportive than than kind of functional. Through that chamber, you can see clearly to the far north-western corner of this fortress, where again, in this corner, there are two burning furnaces. However, this time, there are two resting hellhounds.

Speaker: He's going to look back to Drago, Prego and Emron. That room, is that the room we need to go to? Emron nods.

Speaker: And he looks at Prego just to correct him, but... Prager nuts. Seth is going to go for the forward momentum and is going to leave the room that they're aiming for and scout round to the south of the room with the idea to kind of scout around and be in a good position for when these hands eventually either are drawn to us or we want to ambush them. Or it's just in a defensible position for when they come out. they've got He's got a good angle on them basically.

Speaker: Yeah, and that kind of southern wall in that room is solid. ah You can kind of feel the resonance on the other side of that wall from clearly being close to the origin of where this arcanic beam is being channeled from or originating. but it Sorry, Danny, just to check, were those two hellhorns sleeping like the other one or were they and active?

Speaker: Okay. Well, maybe then he would have walked through the rooms then to make sure the room was safe and just, and just again, done what he did before, peered around to get a sense of the other open space, the other side.

Speaker: Okay. And as you've come to within about 10 feet of the the sleeping hound and hellhounds, can you make another stealth check, please? Yeah. I was going to say, happy to make another one. Okay. That is going to be good.

Speaker: Yeah. 21 again. Thank you. Who's moving next? and ah I'll follow suit, um following exactly what Seth's done and line up next to him as well.

Speaker: I assume stealth? Yes, please. Oh,

Speaker: um,

Speaker: o I'm going to use my d12 from good ah from Trago the last time for a very martial group we're doing quite well to say in terms of stealthing okay that's a 24 that bardic inspiration saved you to say the least yes it did yes doubled your score yes you have remained undetected Prager will follow as well.

Speaker: Shit, I thought was just going to be me and you. ah

Speaker: remains quiet emron would you like do anything emron is emron's gonna do it but emron's gonna hang quite far back to try and avoid being too close to cause any issues is is his he's trying to go he's going carefully and he's trying to hold hang back so that he's not too close if he ever makes any noise yeah you're you're about 50 feet away from you from them i'd still ask you to make a stealth check but your dc would be much lower thank you danny

Speaker: Right, that's 8

Speaker: Oh, that's a 12 in total. Okay, they are still asleep.

Speaker: What are we doing next? You take the right, I'll take the left. Okay, um Drago is going to... move into position and just hit with Dengon Steps. Or just wait wait for Danny to reveal the rest of the because then you suddenly see there's a sea of six of them. Dengon Steps is over his head. he is waiting for Seth. You two both stand like the Nazgul about to strike that you got it the beds.

Speaker: ah

Speaker: As I reveal the rest of this chamber. oh good. There's like a sea of hell out just watching you do this. Just look into him going, eh? Absolutely a um kind of mirror of...

Speaker: everything you've seen so far, but Seth, the furthest you can see south, which is four chambers sat straight down from you, about 75, about 65 feet away is again, one more furnace room now in the southwesterly corner of this fortress on this floor where there is a single hellhound, uh, uh, snoozing by a furnace.

Speaker: Okay. Do you proceed to strike?

Speaker: Seth's got eyes, so Drago's waiting for a nod. ah Seth reckons they've got good chances so far. So, um

Speaker: no, Seth's going to, back to nod, shake his head and kind of beckon him towards, and Seth's going to shimmy round and kind of he's going to point to where he was stood for Drago to stand to see if he understands what he's getting at.

Speaker: Okay, Drago's going to look down at the easy kill, look back at Seth, nod and step two steps over to place his feet where Seth just was.

Speaker: And he's going point himself, Seth's himself, set' goingnna point to Drago, like back and forth a few times, and then point to the one that is closest to running down there and alerting the other one, and that the other one in front would have to run past us. to So kind of almost blocking them in a little bit,

Speaker: at least we have a little bit more control there and kind of then explains that with a few finger points. He's going to point at himself just to confirm you still want me to hit the other hound go at you. Big nod. Are we hitting the same hound?

Speaker: Drago points at himself this and he points down at the hellhound he was stood near. Shakes his head. And he points back at himself and points at the same one that you're looking at. Nods his head. And then Seth points to himself and points to the nearest one as well.

Speaker: And nods his head. Right. Okay. So we're definitely going to wake up the other one.

Speaker: Don't worry, surprise rounds means it's got a disadvantage on initiative. nos yeah no Yeah, kill one. it's yeah Okay. You're going for a combined stealth kill on last time the single target instead.

Speaker: And split the damage. Okay, go for it. Speed roll your damage if you wouldn't mind. They will be auto-quits. Hell yeah.

Speaker: Okay, so I've got an unnatural 20 and a 13. They're auto-crits. Oh, you mean they auto-hit then as well? Yep. of course, because they're unnatural. Ignore me then. Why do I even bother?

Speaker: It's okay. Sorry.

Speaker: 33 points of slashing on the first, and 34 on the second, 67 points of damage in total. Thank you very much.

Speaker: And it's still not dead. How much fucking dice? Yeah. Mark mark just spaffled dice on my screen. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine dice. Yeah, because I get, i rolled I rolled the slashing damage for each separately because it adds the the the five plus five automatically. i need to roll one more for each of those hits. And then I get two dice each for the, yeah. So it's just a shitload of dice. It's exactly the same number as the last one, 51.

Speaker: That's Callum-esque level of math here. It's like, oh, I'll throw this dice. I'll put another dice in there. I'll put another dice in there. It's combined total of 51 and what did you say again? 67.

Speaker: hundred eight 108. Thank you. It's this hellhound. 118. 118. Either way, you hit the threshold. This hellhound. bursts into ash as your strikes pierce through it.

Speaker: It does, however, awake the nearest Hellhound,

Speaker: but not the one 60 feet to your south. As this wand kind of stirs and wakes, we will move into initiative, please. dead and and dead and Is it surprised? Does it get disadvantage? Yes, it will do.

Speaker: am I still raged by chance?

Speaker: It has 10 minutes passed. No, it has not. It has not. ah Drago, your initiative? 15. Emron? 16. Seth Ferry, though. ah It was 18, I think.

Speaker: It was high. ah no it says it's 26. 26. Sorry, I didn't have my age. Yeah, 26. twenty six sorry didn have i twenty six Okay, Seth, top of the round, roll like that. You just see this dog wait because you pull your blade out of the one you just skewered. What do you do?

Speaker: um I make it blind. ah Could it do a constitution saving throw, please? oh a That's beautiful. Can't save. Yes, it can.

Speaker: 10. Fails. It's a 15. It is now blind for the next minute. And so as to know um my D&D Beyond's gone down. But it it basically, yeah, can no longer see. And so thinking if it tries to run back to others and find other people, then it can't now for a bit or is disadvantaged. You smart fucker.

Speaker: That's the end of my turn. Great. Thank you very much. It is Prego's turn. And it is just going to strike at the Hound.

Speaker: with your scimitar and it's going to hit it. Like second strike. And he's going to miss the second strike. that But it's going to do some good damage. Emron, you're up.

Speaker: So Emron's going to move 30 feet ah towards the rest of the party. um

Speaker: I am then going to use a Sacred Flame on the Hellhound. Is it prone? Charge it up.

Speaker: but you oh ah No, use Sacred Flame on the Hellhound. ah Is it prone at the moment? and but is It is prone still.

Speaker: It's just working out. So it needs to make a dexterity saving throw, bearing mind it's currently blinded. Doesn't affect saving throws. Pardon? Doesn't affect saving throws.

Speaker: No, although it affects saving throws based on sight, so it's whether you decide that it has to whether dexterity immediately dodges out the way is my point.

Speaker: It fails ability checks that require sight. doesn't It doesn't automatically fail. Yeah, that's fair. saving throws a deck save did you say yes please 16 yeah that passes um so it takes no damage okay

Speaker: And it wouldn't have boosted it up, Ian, because it does radiant damage, not flaming damage. I didn't know if you were shooting Pikachu with lightning. Nah. Did I need to religion check that, by the way? It was a cantrip.

Speaker: a Sorry, yes, yes, you did. i will do a religion check for you.

Speaker: 18 without adding bless. Thanks, keep me honest. It would have gone through and then it failed anyway. yeah and Thanks so much. Drago, you're up. i Straight in. Dangle Deception overhead. Straight down.

Speaker: Go for it. Is it an auto crit? No, but it's advantage there. ah Okay.

Speaker: It's all two sevens. No, wasn't it? No.

Speaker: Okay, cool. 18. Hits.

Speaker: Let's fucking go

Speaker: go. 16 points of slashing damage. Thank very much. Going in for a second attack.

Speaker: Second. okay. That's

Speaker: cool. 23 without the d4. Hits.

Speaker: hits And that will be 16 points of slashing damage. Thank you very much. Damage it has done. Anything else on your turn? That's everything.

Speaker: It is the hellhound's turn. Oh, shit. It's blind, though. It's okay. It's going to make an almighty piercing howl. And I need all of you to make wisdom saving throws, please.

Speaker: Is this against being frightened? I can't be charmed. think it's against being frightened. I can't be frightened. If my spell's still up, then I can't be frightened either. Great. Your spell lasts how long?

Speaker: 10 minutes. It has not been 10 minutes since you're upstairs. So wisdom. Wisdom saves. Cool. I can be made frightened. got a 15. You are not frightened, though.

Speaker: Prego.

Speaker: also resists the frighten, but the the sound is incredibly noisy and it echoes down the halls and you kind of hear within a beat later corresponding howl to your south, an Emron behind you, much further down the chamber you have left, a third howl.

Speaker: And then one more thing happens as that howl kind of finishes despite being blind blinded and despite being kind of injured, the hellhound that you've been striking at and you've surrounded doubles in size and grows to expand and fill the chamber, pushing Drago and Prego back a little bit as it now becomes a large creature.

Speaker: ah And that is all it is going to be able to do. I think we killed the wrong one.

Speaker: ah But... ah we are going to go top of the round, which is Seth. All right, yeah, i think I'm just going to... Yeah, I'm just going to go for straight-up attacks, I think, and keep it safe for now. We don't what else is coming.

Speaker: um That's going to be 26 to hit, and then something high as well. ah can't... 25 to hit for that one. Both will hit.

Speaker: So it's 16 points of slashing damage to begin with, and then an amount of Necrotic. This is 16, and then, wow, nice, 20 points of Necrotic damage, so 36 points in total.

Speaker: That's crazy. For that. Yeah, yeah. And yeah, just slash slash ah finding weak points in its hind legs as the thing grows bigger and bigger. ah Considered making it smaller again, but it just seemed to bit pointless. And yeah, and then we'll just make sure that he's kind of gotten out and hand handed Drago so he knows where his position is and is checking behind, aware now that they probably all know.

Speaker: theater touch And as you kind of hit him with that incredibly heavy strike, he was so wounded that your final strike, despite his kind of strengthening powers, was able to cleave that one to the ash as well.

Speaker: Thank God. Do you still have movement if want to do anything else with your turn?

Speaker: Yeah, I think I would go to Prego and be like, where's the room? Which one do you need to go to? and um would and and And then we'd turn to protect that front area, expecting that Emron is doing something similar and that Drago will pick the side where there's, you whatever. and Yeah. yeah We'll look after Prego and get him to where needs be. And we'll just, if if the group moves, he'll want to move back with them, but we'll always be looking south to make sure he's got that flank covered.

Speaker: And Prager's turn is next, and he just kind of, with a spring in his step, nods and goes, this way, pushes kind of in between you and Drago, and moves into that suddenly room,

Speaker: kind of seeing a bit late that there is hellhound to the chamber, to the south of that chamber. and Prego is going to kind of head towards this stone um a ritual circle that sits on the western side of the wall. And it's just going to kneel down and begin to kind of speak in infernal.

Speaker: And that is going to be his turn. Emron, you're up. Um, we've not seen any stairs so far in our circulation, have we? Not yet. Uh, Emron is going to cover their rear just in case. I'm going to move the statue to my south to go over the doorway, um, that he's about to pass through to basically just keep barring their, their rear to basically create barriers to basically start. If anything tries to get through to keep covering their rear a bit.

Speaker: Do you follow me? I am. I'm just finding the right tool to draw that on. so you're going to, again, put a gargoyle grotesque ah on the chamber you're leaving and step into the chamber where where Seth and... Yeah, basically. It's just another barrier, yeah. Yep.

Speaker: It doesn't quite fill it as cleanly as the last one. This is a much bigger void, and they're about the same kind of um size grotesques. so But you have obscured the obstructed space. It'll slow something down if it tries to go through. That's his point.

Speaker: Absolutely. Drago, you're up. Drago's going to... ah move into the space looked a little bit disgruntled i haven't been pushed aside by prego but understands that prego is going summon karstan uh will follow prego full 40 feet uh into his space kind of hate hightail after him cool thank you very much uh so you kind of uh moving up to the ritual circle but the this stone circle

Speaker: ah If I, so on approach to the ritual circle, do I see the hellhound past? Yeah. yet To the south you do. Yeah. Yeah. So Drago would go as soon as he sees the hellhound, that's the immediate threat and he needs to protect Pago. So he's going now towards the hellhound.

Speaker: Okay. Four feet. Okay. So 40 feet puts you kind of in the anti-chamber, the structural anti-chamber that exists in that that wider room that Prego has kind of begun a ritual.

Speaker: But you still have the ability to kind of dash if you want to. Dash takes a bonus action, doesn't it? Dash is an action. Oh, fuck yeah, let's go. which will allow you to square up with the Hellhound. Yeah, i want to I want to be the first thing that it attacks. I will burn a bonus action to rage still. great Keep rage.

Speaker: And it is the Hellhound's turn. This hellhound is going to, again, let out and ah the exact kind of replying sound howled to the one that howled a turn ago. And this hellhound is going to... you You will be resistant to fear, right? I'm not going to attempt to make any roll. But this this hound is going to grow in size.

Speaker: And then you're going to hear another yell down the corridor to the kind of southeast of you, Drago. as a another enlarged hellhound just comes into view in that southern chamber.

Speaker: Let's fucking go! And then... the same... ah Emron... you see... another dashing hellhound enlarged making its way doesn't quite get to your obstruction, but there is a large hellhound in the chamber you've just attempted to steal behind you.

Speaker: Okay. That is the bottom of the round. ah Seth, top the round. Just to clarify, the two that are facing with Drago are enlarged as well? Yes, all of the hellhounds you can now see are enlarged.

Speaker: Okay. Um, then I am going to see that and assume that that, uh, is going to be where I need to go. Everyone can handle himself.

Speaker: I know that. I'm going to move 30 feet into the antechamber that Drago was in when he realized that he needed them to make way. And, um, he's going to start, God, I don't want to go too heavy, too hard. This is a long bit of combat.

Speaker: in general, and I'm really aware of like burning through spells. But this... Because we've still got the center bit to go as well, so you don't know what to save.

Speaker: Okay. and In that case, I'm just going to play with a

Speaker: God damn it. Did we get infestation? Nah, that could get Drago. Let's go Toll the Dead then. Wisdom saving throw, please. On the hell hand closest to Drago as Seth's running up.

Speaker: That's nine. Fails. Takes two d8 of necrotic damage, which is not bad. Thirteen points of necrotic damage. Thank you so much. Ten of his time.

Speaker: Great. Anything for Tim? Nope, nothing. I moved my 30 feet and then done a thing. I'm good. Okay, it is Prego's turn and Seth, you're the one who's kind of in an audible range of this, but you just hear this kind of infernal chanting and you're seeing all of these kind of lights emanating. Not that you can see them directly because you're you're in that antechamber, but you can just see kind of see flashes from behind you and flashes from in front of you and as Prego's kind of voice is getting gradually louder and louder and louder and louder.

Speaker: and Emron, your turn. uh i am going to is the hound too big to get through the doorway now at the pace it's going it's probably going to attempt to push through you'd expect kind of reading the the approach everyone's going to take a ah step back but so can still see it i'm going to try something that might not work but let's see what happens i am going to use channel divinity and i'm going to present my holy symbol of alido and point it towards the hellhound

Speaker: And I'm going to use Divine Spark and try and do some radiant damage to it at range. OK. Go for it. Do I need to roll anything for this? Not if you're using Channel Divinity.

Speaker: I'm using Channel Divinity. ah So it needs to make a DC 13 con saving throw, please.

Speaker: It makes a 14. OK. okay It will take half damage then.

Speaker: Okay, it will take two points of radiant damage um as Emron holds up his symbol of Aledo and says, in Aledo's name, stay back. And this light pierces from it and does a small amount of damage. Does a little fizz pop.

Speaker: It's right, it's a radiant damage, which against demons should be really powerful, it's fine. Maybe. Maybe. Anything else for turn? ah No, everyone's going to heft his hammer. He is prepared to bar the way to this hellhound.

Speaker: Nice. Drago, you're up. You're going to slash with Dengon's deception at the hellhound right in front of him. um That's 19 for the first before any d4s. Hits.

Speaker: I assume that hits. Mm-hmm. ah That is 14 points of slashing damage. Thank It's going in for a second attack. Boom, boom, boom. For a dirty 20 to hit.

Speaker: Hits. And that is going to be 16 points of slashing damage. Thank you so much. It's the end of my goal. Nice. It's the Hellhounds' turn.

Speaker: ah Both these Hellhounds are going to kind of leap upon you, Drago, and you're going to pummeled by two enlarged Hellhounds. Yeah, beast on beast.

Speaker: Beast on beast. They have pack tactics, so they're going to get advantage, and then they're also going to make two bite attacks each Okay. Don't like the sound of pack tactics. You could take this, right? I could take this.

Speaker: Double ended. You've got health for days. Okay, you're going to get four bites here. The first one is 24 to hit. Yep, that hits. 23 to hit. Yeah, that hits. 20 non-natural to hit. yes that hits a twenty non naturaltural that hit

Speaker: and a 20 non-natural day yeah that is okay fucking good just add it all up do it in one go it in one go like ripping off a plaster

Speaker: A lot of dice he's rolling there, Ian. Yeah. You're going hurt. You can take it. You're a big boy. I'm a big boy. I've got scales. quite challenge Bite down on some leather. That's 44 points of piercing damage.

Speaker: Nice. That's 21. 36 points of fire damage. Oh, that one. That sucks. That one sucks. Don't need that. That one sucks. Okay.

Speaker: The one that is kind of locked and bound by you, it is going to attempt to ram full pace at ah the stone kind of object that you have placed in front of it. It's going to some damage into kind of doing so, but it is going to attempt strength ah check to break through...

Speaker: Okay, it's going to break through, but I'm going to have it take 3d6.

Speaker: Nice, Emron. You rolled nearly max damage on that. Yeah. ah So, yes, it is wounded, but it's going to have leapt in, and it's going to make one attack at you, because...

Speaker: Is the hellhound a fiend? It is a fiend. It's disadvantage. It is disadvantage. Hello, beastie. ah Ten to hit. That's a miss. Great.

Speaker: Those the hellhounds' turns. ah Seth, top the round.

Speaker: I'm going cast fourth level Shadowblade because things are getting dickish. Mm-hmm. and then run the entire distance up and he's going to form in his hand as he runs towards it and as he manages to make the distance to get in contact he'll be right on and drago's left shoulder and it will just come sword over the top straight through piercing down and for the first of two of his shadow blade and this is on this is on the one that drago has already hit the one that drago has

Speaker: Yeah, the one that he's already hit. Let's go with that. Okay, so that first is a 17 to hit? Hits. I'll just roll the second for the switch to my phone because I won't work on my computer anymore.

Speaker: And I ain't rolling on there anymore either. Okay, bear with, bear with, bear with. I'm seeing so many rolls. Are you? I can't see shit. One of them not so good, so I'm just wondering like what's going down right now.

Speaker: All I can see is the 17. What was the next one after the 17? What was that? There was a 12. and Okay. i want it The would have been the next one. We'll add on four. So it's a 16 to hit for that one.

Speaker: Both hit. Okay. Jesus Christ. Sorry. It's going have to use you, Ian, I think is my thoroughfare. Okay. Okay. I can do this. I think. It's not just me that's finding the combat log, not quite following the dice rolls, isn't it? It might be a a very high-resolution series of images on the... I just switched to my phone. This is on my phone, though. This is separate. um and Anyway, let's see if it works.

Speaker: twenty eight k 28. Okay. Thank you. 28 points of psychic damage first. And the second attack so is... 17. 17 points of psychic damage. That's a nice round. 40 points of psychic damage. And then with the...

Speaker: um

Speaker: Bonus action I've already so used. Yeah, it's all I can do. this this This one that's first been struck by Drago and then struck by you is looking incredibly weak. Excellent work. Thank you. pragers ten eight Prego is going to continue to summon the ritual.

Speaker: ah Emron, up. I'm going to hit it with my hammer. I'm going to hit it. I'm going to wreck it. I'm going smash it. It's dear me, dear.

Speaker: and Fuck off. That's a natural one. ah Yes, that's a natural one. Can you roll d20 for me?

Speaker: Fuck off, Danny.

Speaker: ah What a bastard. 17. Okay, nothing happens. too You missed it. Oh, really?

Speaker: Smartass. but Anything else let's do with your turn? um No, other than spit in its face. Nice.

Speaker: Drago, you're up. Going straight in to attack the one I've been wailing on this time with a ah nice ah happy look that Seth's here. Especially after being double teamed by the fuckers. 16. Hits.

Speaker: ah hits Straight in with a sexy 20 points of slashing damage. It's still up. It is not. You have destroyed that one.

Speaker: Cool. And then in 360 kind of motion, he's going straight for the next hellhound right next to him. And that's going to be before the d4 17 hit. I need to add the No. You have hit. Sick.

Speaker: and admit you have hit it

Speaker: And that is going to points of slashing damage. 18. eighteen Thank very much. I don't like that cone that you've decided to put Oh, shoot. Can you see that? Yeah, can see that. So I'm going to step over to the... That's his flame breath then.

Speaker: All right, meta will. and Anything else your turn, Drago? No.

Speaker: Great. It's the hellhound's turn. Lo and behold, the one that is squaring up with you, Drago, and you said this going to use its frame flame breath ability. I need you to both to make deck saves, please.

Speaker: I don't believe it. i didn't see this coming. I can add your d4s. Will? Yeah? I can add a d4? Yes, you can add your Okay, that's 14 for me.

Speaker: ah You got a 9 on that one. 15 for you, Seth, before the d4. Thank you.

Speaker: 18 in total then, for me. ah Which means Seth, you're taking half damage. and Drago, you're taking full full brunt of this damage. Fuck! This is not good. you're You're really hard. You've got a hit points states.

Speaker: Had.

Speaker: 18 points of damage for Drago, 9 points of damage for Seth. That's fire damage, yeah? Fire. That's fire. fuck gets This fire damage can fuck off.

Speaker: We don't resist that. No. Once growing up to you, Emron is going to use its full multi-tech ability now that it's no longer battling the inanimate objects.

Speaker: Okay. At disadvantage. Yep. 17 on the first hit. Nope. And 20 non-natural on the second.

Speaker: Nope. Okay. That's all it can do. ah Seth, top of the round. Tanky Emron. Right. I'm going to go for two hits on um my bad boy self.

Speaker: That's a 24 to hit for the first one. On a nutty one. 24 hits. twenty four hits Thank you for that.

Speaker: I can't see if this has just rolled a bunch of d8s. It's rolled a points of psychic damage for that. And then Symmetra of Wounding gets a giggity go in there. I can't see that roll. Oh, that's a crit.

Speaker: oh Nice. I will take that crit to the... park with. You ordered one. That's the six points of slashing damage there. And then i've got to double up those. Okay. And then whatever that is.

Speaker: ah Five, five, three, two, points of necrotic damage. Thank you very much.

Speaker: This is a collaborative effort here. I like it. It is. I appreciate it. I would have obviously moved to get into combat range. I'm not going to stand too far there. and Yeah, that's all I can do. Yes, that's me done.

Speaker: Great. Thank you. Prego is continuing the ritual. You are doing the fine job of keeping things at bay. Emron, your turn. I'm going to hit it. to Spoiler alert.

Speaker: Let's give this another go.

Speaker: Okay, that's a dirty 20 to hit. Hits. Huzzah.

Speaker: Okay, it takes 11 points of bludgeoning damage.

Speaker: It...

Speaker: It takes... Can it make a strength saving throw, please? It can. Oh, no. Let me just double check if it's a strength saving throw. Apologies. Oh, it's a con saving throw. Apologies. It's 22. Yeah, that passes. I was trying to topple it.

Speaker: um It does, however, get pushed... um

Speaker: It does, however, get pushed back five feet. Okay, it is in difficult terrain. Yep. And then it takes the seismic damage from the hammer, which was four points of force damage.

Speaker: Thank you so much. And Emron's going to close the gap so it stays in its difficult terrain. Great. Thanks so much. Drago, you're up. 24 to hit.

Speaker: Hits.

Speaker: Drago is fucking pissed. 18 points slashing damage. Thank you. Going in for another. it's a 19, which is one off a crit, guys. God damn. Yes, it is. Yes, it is.

Speaker: Catchphrase. And that is 16 points of slashing damage. Drago is going yell in its face. Thank you so much. It is. It is looking weak. Looking very weak. ah However, it's their turn. Now, unless you're doing anything else.

Speaker: No. Okay. The one on you is going to wail on you for two hits at disadvantage.

Speaker: That would be a 11. Miss. Or a 24. Just beats my armor class. Hilarious. ah So you are going to take...

Speaker: 11 points of piercing damage. 5 points of fire damage.

Speaker: That's 16 in total. I need to make a concentration check.

Speaker: I've got a 18 on my con saving throw. That passes, doesn't it? Yes. Yes, it does. Yes. Cool. My protection from good and evil remains.

Speaker: two bites coming in at you Drago fucking hell that is a 13 and a 23 cool one of them hits one of them

Speaker: hits the 13 yeah yeah 12 points of piercing damage yeah which is fine but now six points of fire yeah that say I'm bleeding points guys.

Speaker: and Bottom of the round. This hound has just sunk its drawers into Drago for another time and it just pulls its teeth back out.

Speaker: Most of its teeth kind of remaining in Drago. Some falling to the floor as it's kind of bleeding so profusely. as you kind of so wipe off Drago some of this black, Icarus, bilious blood ah and realize actually some of yours is embedded within that too with the amount of chomps that you've had against you.

Speaker: Just as you're kind of feeling ah so beginning to feel pretty weary at this point.

Speaker: There is a huge eruption of light that comes from the chamber behind you. And as you kind of just glance over your shoulder a second, what was once one form of Prego casting this magic is now two.

Speaker: boy is here. As there next to him stands Karstan Finbin Valhorn. Yes. Let's fucking go, Karstan. We need you. Booyah. And that's where we're going this week's episode of the Finish of the Tabletop.

Speaker: I like to imagine Carstens arrived like like like the Terminator. He's naked. you See, you did the Terminator pose, but all I saw was bru Bruce Forsythe. So that's how that's going to be. Carstens come in like Bruce Forsyth, yeah. Yeah, like the Generation Game. Yeah. Let's date ourselves even more. Listeners, if you know what the Generation Game is and Bruce Forsyth, you'd be happy to know they're both dead. Maybe not happy. That's the sad. He's a national treasure. Enjoy life Goodbye.
