Speaker: Welcome to the Solarpreneur Podcast, where we teach you to take your solar business to the next level.
Speaker: My name is Taylor Armstrong.
Speaker: I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in a year and cracking the code on why sales reps fell.
Speaker: I teach you how to avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads, falling up like a pro, and closing more deals.
Speaker: What is a Solarpreneur you might ask?
Speaker: A Solarpreneur is a new breed of Solar Pro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery and you are about to become one.
Speaker: What's up, solopreneurs?
Speaker: Taylor Armstrong here.
Speaker: Hope you are doing well.
Speaker: Hope you are crushing it this summer.
Speaker: Can you believe we are already almost through the summer?
Speaker: So crazy.
Speaker: If you are behind in your goals, make sure you push even harder than you think, because I can't believe we're sitting at the end of July as I record this episode here.
Speaker: I'm like, how did it get to be already more than halfway through the year?
Speaker: We got a bunch of summer reps that I'm working with here and they're going home in like two weeks now.
Speaker: Like how did time go so quickly?
Speaker: So let that serve as a wake up call to you.
Speaker: If you were behind on your goals, light some fire under yourself and let's get rolling because summer months there are the best time.
Speaker: And depending on where you're at, it's probably, I guess, unless you're selling in, you know, Australia or other side of the world,
Speaker: These summer months, that's when people are getting their high bills, they're running their AC, and they're feeling the pain of the electricity.
Speaker: So make sure you use that to your advantage.
Speaker: So today's topic is going to be a little bit different.
Speaker: I'm going to tell you right up front, we're going to be talking about SoulCity.
Speaker: If you've been listening to the end of the episodes lately, you've likely heard about our program that actually just released SoulCity.
Speaker: It's called Soul Society.
Speaker: I'm going to be dropping you all the details about it, giving you all the scoop, all the information, and hopefully getting you fired up to get on the platform because in my opinion, it's the best in the industry.
Speaker: You're going to want to be on it for sure.
Speaker: So tune in to the episode if you want to hear about it.
Speaker: If you hate training, if you hate hearing how to get better, well, first of all, probably don't even listen to Solar Printer podcast in general, but...
Speaker: If you hate that stuff and you hate investing in yourself, then don't listen to this episode because we're going to talk about why I think you should invest in yourself through Soul Society.
Speaker: Before we get to that, though, I just wanted to thank everyone who has shared the episode, who has tagged me on social media.
Speaker: who has given us shout outs here at solopreneur.
Speaker: That is the best way that helps us reach more people is just by you guys tagging me and sharing it on social media, sending it to people who can benefit from the episodes we have.
Speaker: So I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart that has helped us grow the podcast and let's launch it even further.
Speaker: And again, let me know if there's anything I can do to help you guys.
Speaker: I love my listeners, love the audience, and I always want to be delivering content that is valuable.
Speaker: So if you hate it, let me know.
Speaker: If things aren't helping, let me know.
Speaker: And let me know if you have suggestions for guests or for topics that we can discuss here on the show.
Speaker: So with that being said, let's dive right into this.
Speaker: So I'm going to tell you a little bit the backstory behind Soul Society, why we created it, what the goal is with it, and then I'll tell you all the features and why you should be getting in on it.
Speaker: So a little backstory here.
Speaker: You've probably heard kind of when I got into the industry, it's been amazing.
Speaker: About little over five years 2016 I started in corona, California got recruited by Dallin pancari.
Speaker: He's been on the show here one of my good friends and When I first got in the industry it was cool.
Speaker: I had a Dallin train of me But at the same time there are a few things that I wish I would have had when I first started and this is going to tie into SoulCity here so hear me out and
Speaker: When I first started, we were in a house.
Speaker: We had like, I don't know, 10 guys in that house, close to 10 guys, I think.
Speaker: And a lot of the guys, you know, typical partying, typical staying up late, just a bunch of dudes in the house.
Speaker: So that was my first problem.
Speaker: I was around people that maybe weren't the most focused on selling, but
Speaker: The environment wasn't the greatest because, yeah, there were two or three guys that were producing good numbers that were inspiring, motivating, but there were a lot of guys that weren't doing very well.
Speaker: They're messing around.
Speaker: They're smoking their weed, drinking, all that stuff, and weren't getting that many sales.
Speaker: So I started to notice it brought me down.
Speaker: As we were going to meetings, I saw guys weren't producing, weren't hitting numbers that they said they wanted to hit.
Speaker: Like, what is going on?
Speaker: I came from pest control, and so it was a little bit different.
Speaker: Pest control guys were there grinding super hard for the summer.
Speaker: So I started to notice my production went down.
Speaker: As I was around people that weren't working as much, I let it affect me.
Speaker: And we've all heard you're the average of the five people you surround yourself with.
Speaker: I definitely could attest to that because I saw my numbers go down every time I went in car groups with people that weren't working as hard anytime I started hanging out with them more than I should have.
Speaker: And I remember the first course I bought in door-to-door training.
Speaker: At this time, 2016, that I know of, there was basically no door-to-door training at all.
Speaker: So I bought a course.
Speaker: It was from Paul Shikuri.
Speaker: Maybe you guys have been in the door-to-door space a while now.
Speaker: Might know this cat, but Paul Shikuri, he had a podcast called, what was it?
Speaker: Door-to-door Mastery, I think it was called.
Speaker: And he talked about he was in alarms.
Speaker: So I would go on it, list this guy.
Speaker: He would get all fired up and just talk about alarms.
Speaker: He wasn't even selling anymore, but he would just get on and, you know, basically get everyone stoked.
Speaker: Actually, I might have him come on the show here.
Speaker: I hit him up one time.
Speaker: So let me know if you want to get him on the show.
Speaker: But he hasn't done too much lately in the door-to-door space.
Speaker: I know I don't think he keeps his podcast going or anything.
Speaker: But I bought his course.
Speaker: It was called Door-to-Door Mastery.
Speaker: And I started going through it.
Speaker: I think it was like 400 bucks.
Speaker: And I'm like, man, this is cool.
Speaker: A course that teaches how to sell more door-to-door.
Speaker: And all the guys in my house, they kind of make fun of me.
Speaker: They're like, dude, you're paying money just to like, like just go out and knock.
Speaker: It's not that hard.
Speaker: We have training here.
Speaker: So a couple of guys were like ragging on me.
Speaker: Thought it was funny that in the mornings I was just listening to this guy on this course.
Speaker: But bottom line is I felt like I wasn't getting the environment that I needed when I started.
Speaker: There were guys that weren't working as hard.
Speaker: And then the other thing was my managers at the time, yeah, it was great, but a manager can only help you so much, right?
Speaker: Depending on how many guys are in the office, depending on how big your office is, you can only get so much help from the manager because they've got to be helping a ton of different guys.
Speaker: So this brings me to what we've done with Solcite.
Speaker: This is basically the training platform I wish I had when I started out in Solr.
Speaker: Because I talked about my problems, and my big problem was, is number one, I wasn't surrounded by people I felt were bringing me up.
Speaker: I'm not saying that's everyone's problem, but to a degree, depending on which company you're in,
Speaker: what your environment is.
Speaker: There's always going to be lazier people.
Speaker: There's going to be guys not producing.
Speaker: There's going to be guys that bring you down to a degree.
Speaker: It helps get around people that can bring you up.
Speaker: This is what we're trying to do with Soul Society is surround guys with the best of the best, with people that do have that growth mindset, with people that do want to improve, with people that want to go out role-play,
Speaker: just pick each other's brain and I know there's Facebook groups things like this but what we've done we have access to a training app on SoulCity.
Speaker: It's an app where you can send direct video messages, you can send screen recordings, chat, basically does it all.
Speaker: So it's an app we have exclusive to SoulCity members.
Speaker: And the goal is that everyone can be on there training together, competing against each other, and just really surrounding yourself with the best, with the people that do actually want to improve.
Speaker: And so that way, if you are maybe in an environment where it's not the greatest or actually talk to,
Speaker: one of our future coaching clients today, he was just riding completely solo.
Speaker: So some guys are doing that too.
Speaker: So even more, if you are alone or if you're in an environment where maybe it's not the greatest, you need to get on Soul Society because this is what we're going to do.
Speaker: You're competing against other people.
Speaker: You're interacting, we have video chat, we have people in there talking and brainstorming how can we improve.
Speaker: This is the first thing that I felt was super important.
Speaker: I looked back and I said, what do guys need?
Speaker: What did I not have when I started?
Speaker: And this was, I think, one of the best features that we could think of as we were planning out the training platform, Soul Society.
Speaker: So that's the first thing.
Speaker: The second thing is just the training in general.
Speaker: The other problem I had
Speaker: even further along as I was selling solar more is I would buy these courses.
Speaker: There's always another course, right?
Speaker: Always someone else to learn from.
Speaker: And if you haven't heard the thought process beside Soul Society, we actually looked at masterclass.com.
Speaker: A lot of you have heard of it.
Speaker: It's where they take the best of the best and get them in the platform, right?
Speaker: So Masterclass, it has like Steph Curry teaching basketball.
Speaker: It has, I'd have to go look, but I don't know.
Speaker: Is Serena Williams on there?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Best in the business, though.
Speaker: Some of the best, they're teaching their specific skill.
Speaker: They're condensing it so you can learn it from that person who's the very best.
Speaker: So that's the goal of SoulCyety is you can get on there and you can learn from the best.
Speaker: So we have guys like Earl Capulli, who is Gratitude Mindset, and we feel has really mastered the mindset you need to have.
Speaker: as you're knocking doors and as you're closing deals.
Speaker: Then we have Taylor McCarthy, the knock star himself, who is on there teaching just his process to getting more leads and closing more deals, who in my opinion is one of the best trainers for sure in the solar space right now.
Speaker: And we have guys like Jake Hess, who I can credit a lot of the technical side of solar.
Speaker: I've learned from him.
Speaker: He does great sales trainings too.
Speaker: And he hates it when I call him just the technical solar guy.
Speaker: But we have him on there with his content about roofs and kind of more of the technical aspect.
Speaker: And then as you've heard in some of the previous episodes, we have James who has come on, James Swiderski.
Speaker: who isn't selling actively in solar, but he is really great around the online marketing, the follow-up, the lead gen, and then just the sales in general.
Speaker: And then we're constantly adding more coaches in there, more trainings,
Speaker: So it's what I wish I had is because we can take all these people that are super great at their one individual skill and we can have them all in one platform.
Speaker: And the other side of this is it's not a training course where you go log in and you sit through videos and you have to remember your log in.
Speaker: You have to, you know, get yourself to log in every day.
Speaker: The key thing we wanted with Solciti is we thought, how can we make it most likely so guys are going to actually log in?
Speaker: So guys, don't forget their logins.
Speaker: So they're motivated to log in.
Speaker: At the end of the day, they're still going to require you to go click a button, take action.
Speaker: But what we did with this, we just put it all in app format.
Speaker: So it's an actual mobile app you download.
Speaker: No more remembering logins.
Speaker: No more needing to go to a specific website.
Speaker: on your computer on your iPad on your phone it's just all on an app okay so what that means for you is you can be sitting on the toilet you can be driving in a car okay don't do it probably while you're driving but you can be literally anywhere where there is service and you can be taken in that content without needing to remember your login because you just click the app and boom it's right in front of you and instead of having to be the typical course where you need to watch the videos and
Speaker: do all those shenanigans what we've done is we've gamified it so the app is game based more than anything so you log in there you play the games and the videos the course videos that's just kind of the side content okay what if you hate watching videos what if that's boring just go through the quizzes and the games this is what we've done on SolCity so we've made it more game focused because that is how people have learned
Speaker: I go back to my college days.
Speaker: I know a lot of us solar sales people, a lot of us didn't go to college maybe, maybe some of us only went to some college.
Speaker: But the best way to learn, I remember this is one of the first things they taught in Southern Utah University I was required to take basically a how to succeed in college course.
Speaker: This is probably the one thing I remember from that class.
Speaker: is that the best way to learn is from quizzing yourself.
Speaker: It's not from reading textbooks.
Speaker: It's not from, I don't know, listening to things.
Speaker: It's from quizzing yourself.
Speaker: It's called active learning.
Speaker: So we've taken that same concept.
Speaker: We're applying it to solar.
Speaker: Because solar skills, they need active learning.
Speaker: All these courses, watching videos, that's only going to do so much.
Speaker: But how are you actually taking in the material?
Speaker: How are you learning it yourself?
Speaker: And these podcasts are great too.
Speaker: and appreciate people for listening, but really to take in the content, take in the material the best possible way, you need to be quizzing yourself, you need to be interacting with others, and you need to have this gamification, because that is how you actually take in the content, and that's going to give you the best shot at applying it.
Speaker: So that's just a little preview society, that's what we're doing with the app, but what we really want you to do is
Speaker: If you feel you can benefit from this, go check it out on the website, book a call.
Speaker: The thing about it, it's, guys, it's ridiculously cheap.
Speaker: We didn't want price to hold back anyone, whether you're a beginner or advanced in the industry.
Speaker: We're talking 97 bucks a month, okay?
Speaker: And this is at the time I'm recording this, so it is for sure growing up, okay?
Speaker: But we just launched it.
Speaker: We want to get as many people in and benefiting as possible.
Speaker: So everyone that gets in, they're going to be grandfathered in at this $97 a month.
Speaker: But bottom line is, it is going to increase in price as we get more people on.
Speaker: This is our founding member.
Speaker: We call it the George Washington Founding Father Special Solopreneur Discount.
Speaker: That's what we're giving you.
Speaker: So go get on it, get on that price before it goes up.
Speaker: And that is just the base SoulCity membership.
Speaker: We're not even talking about the other tiers of SoulCity that we have.
Speaker: But if you're hesitating, get on that.
Speaker: Try it out.
Speaker: Guarantee it's going to help you if you go in there and apply the material.
Speaker: and interact with people in the video chat exclusive app we're using.
Speaker: And then the second tier of it, we'll probably do another episode, but it's just the actual coaching piece.
Speaker: We have, it's called Soul Society Inner Circle Coaching.
Speaker: You're going to get access to the training app, of course, but then you're also going to get one-on-one access coaching with myself.
Speaker: You're going to get direct access to the community.
Speaker: You're going to get put, it's called a Soul Society pod, to where we place you in a group.
Speaker: and where everyone's holding each other super accountable.
Speaker: So it's basically just another level of accountability and another level of exclusivity where you're going to get direct access to me, 24-7 access, video chat.
Speaker: Don't be sending me anything appropriate, but we are going to get you cranking deals, and it comes with a performance guarantee.
Speaker: So that's just a little preview.
Speaker: Wanted to make sure people knew what's going on with SoulCity.
Speaker: So guys, go check it out.
Speaker: If anything, let me know what you think of it.
Speaker: And go check it out.
Speaker: Get on there.
Speaker: Tell your team about it.
Speaker: We also have enterprise packages.
Speaker: So if you want SoulCity for your team, where we can potentially add on your content,
Speaker: in your trainings on the app, hit us up.
Speaker: We've got calls.
Speaker: You can go schedule a call and we can get your team access.
Speaker: So again, go to solciety.co.
Speaker: That's S-O-L-C-I-E-T-Y.
Speaker: For all those that struggle with spelling, go check it out.
Speaker: Let us know what you think.
Speaker: And really, we just want people to up level.
Speaker: And I believe, I truly believe that this is how we can all up level.
Speaker: It's what I was missing when I started in solar.
Speaker: So hope to see you in on there.
Speaker: Hope you enjoy it.
Speaker: And with that said, we will see you on the next show.
Speaker: The next show, we have an awesome interview actually coming up with Mr. Solar Objections.
Speaker: Solar Joe, if you're in solar, you're probably already in this Facebook group called Solar Objections.
Speaker: But that's going to be next episode, so don't miss out.
Speaker: Let us know what you thought, and we'll see you on Solcite.
Speaker: Peace.
