Speaker: Brother, the real battle isn't between you and the world. It's between the man you're called to be and the man that you keep feeding. I'm seeing something in myself these weeks that I think you'll be able to recognize also in your fight.
Speaker: Every place that I feel stuck always comes down to two things. Avoidance or agreement. Avoiding truth or agreeing with lies.
Speaker: Avoiding conviction or agreeing with my emotions. Avoiding obedience to the Spirit or agreeing with my old patterns.
Speaker: And the old man doesn't die because I dislike him. He dies because I stopped feeding So here's where I'm at. When God puts his finger on something inside of me, and a pattern, a wound, a habit,
Speaker: piece of my personality built from trauma, I can feel the resistance rise in my body. Tension, heat, urgency.
Speaker: That's the old man. That's the old version of me fighting for breath. But every time that I starve, that old man, that old version of me, the real me finally breathes. And so I encourage you also to breathe.
