Speaker: The 28th Angle Podcast. Hey,

Speaker: everyone. hey guys. Hey. so they So don't mind Heather today. she is sick, but today is recording day and she has no choice but to come to work. So I don't know. No, I'm kidding.

Speaker: No, we decided um to still move forward. um We decided to still move forward. She just won't be talking as much. And if she talks, well, you'll be able to hear that. You'll see. you'll hear. She's losing her voice. So so just wish her better. And I'm starting to feel better. It's really just my voice. so Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. So we're not forcing her to work when she doesn't feel good. Same drivers around here. um But yeah, how how are you guys doing?

Speaker: Pretty good. I chopped hair Yeah, see that. You chopped a lot it off. chopped a foot off. That's crazy.

Speaker: i hopped a foot but um and off yeah that's very easy um it will grow she did cut it a little bit as hair does it does do that yeah well the thing is is that i don't think she realized that my hair is a little bit curly so when she cut it when i like cut it here it was wet so then yeah so it's like um doesn't sound like the greatest uh i almost said tattoo artist doesn't seem like she's not the normal she's not the normal person that i go to but whatever i'm getting my hair actually done by a poor fashional next month okay that's good i mean it still looks good i think it's cute probably big change yeah um so big news on my side i quit my job

Speaker: Not a joke. Legit, not a joke. Um, it wasn't good for me mentally. and I mean, you guys always heard me talk about how much I worked.

Speaker: Um, it wasn't an exaggeration. Um, even while the last, I would say month has been better. It's still, i know it, it ah the has, it's up in ups and downs where there was some weeks I was working 60 hours a week and it was just not good for me, not good for my family. And, um,

Speaker: It was a really, really bad time. so I want to say something real quick. She quit her job, was the last week. And I'm already a huge difference like in her.

Speaker: She's back to herself. like It's awesome to see. It's crazy you how much stress and that job did to her. I knew how much stress the job brought to me, but I don't think I realized how much until I quit.

Speaker: Now, don't get me wrong. I'm terrified because Christmas season is coming up and I have kids. um So I will be, I've been working my butt off to get another job. But um if I'm going to be perfectly honest, it was quit or I wouldn't be here anymore. So um I actually took everything to work with me on that day because I didn't plan on coming home that day. So, and nobody knows that. So, well, a couple of people do, but yeah.

Speaker: But a lot went down and that wasn't the reason I quit really. um i think the universe was just, just had its way of working things out. yeah. on a little bit of a deep start. I'm sorry, but it's kind of a big change in my life. And that's really all that's happened this week. So yeah, now I'm just working and working to find a new job. That's so hanging out, spending time with my kids and a giant weight has been lifted. So I'm really glad that you did.

Speaker: Yeah. I was also going to say that I've noticed a huge difference and she's definitely back to herself and it is really good to see. um And I do feel like I mean, I don't know if she feels like we had any effort towards it, but we were literally all pushing her to quit job.

Speaker: Yeah, no, I mean, yeah. We could all see her. I wouldn't have quit. If none of all of ever, all of them were like, you know, we'll help you. We'll be there for you. You'll make sure the kids have a Christmas. So if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have quit because my kids are obviously the most important for me. And if that means working like that to to give them the best Christmas I can give them, then that's what that means for me. So, um, but yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: besides that let's move on to happier things we do we do have a fun episode planned yeah it will be a fun episode so don't mind that start um that wasn't even planned to tell you guys that but whatever um that's what we're here that's what we do here right yeah um so are we ready to get into the episode then so yeah i think so okay So this episode we have planned today, we are going to call Guess That Sound.

Speaker: So it should be fun. We'll be playing clips of sounds and the others will have to guess what that sound is. Now, please keep in mind because Shelly has already made it abundantly clear. Like we say all the time, three different perspectives, three different you know sides. um We set the rules of this is what we're doing. you know We get this many sounds and the name of the game is guess that sound.

Speaker: Now, what that sounds like to Shelly could be completely different to what that sounds like to me or Heather. And so, um and we roll with it. that's That's part of the fun here is three different sides, three different perspectives, you know?

Speaker: So three different angles. So you ready to to get into it? Yeah, let's do it. Let's perfect let's go. Three best friends, twist and spin.

Speaker: Victoria, Heather, and Shelly, let the fun begin. Stories to tell us too.

Speaker: All right. So who wants to start? Let's go Heather. Heather, you start. Heather, start. Heather, Victoria, me. Let's go that way. I think I lined mine up from easy to hard. I guess we'll see as we go. But um are you guys ready for the first one?

Speaker: I'm a little scared, but yeah. Literally anything. Okay. yes Here we go.

Speaker: Spray paint. Like a can of spray paint. Yeah. yeah yeah That was going to be my guess. That's funny. That's correct. One point for Shelly. Ding. Ding.

Speaker: Or is there points for who guesses first? Is that what it is? We always say that. We never do it. It'll be a point for both of us we both got it right. Yeah, that's true. we going in circles? Are we going to play all mine? Let's do all of yours. Let's do all of yours.

Speaker: i felt like that would be easier, right? Yeah, I think so. Let's do it. Okay. Number two for me.

Speaker: oh Typing on a computer. Typing. Yeah, got it. But I will say, i have that sound, so now I don't trust Erin. That's funny. but You used to sound that we have double.

Speaker: I have um bonus ones, so it's okay. Okay. Okay, well, number three for me. But you guys both should 3D printer. Oh, yeah. Right? It sounded so familiar. I'm actually printing something tonight, so I heard it like five minutes ago. She hears that sound. That's funny.

Speaker: Okay. Number four.

Speaker: Opening up a Red Bull. Opening a soda. Or soda. Or a can. Or a coffee. I had a can. Some kind of can. Okay, I think they might start getting a little harder, but you guys should still be able to get them.

Speaker: All right, next one. She's so organized. I'm not.

Speaker: Lego pieces. Dumping them out? Like dumping out Legos? Yeah, dumping them out. Dumping them out. Is it Lego? Yeah. Yeah. duing leg Yeah, that was good, Shelly. very Next one.

Speaker: Velcro. and so That was correct. Okay, next one.

Speaker: my god. ah Animal drinking something. Drinking water? It's a cat drinking water, but you know, I have that on mine too. so now can't trust Aaron at all.

Speaker: What the heck?

Speaker: So Aaron is our person that checks our sound to make sure we don't have doubles. So it's fine. I have, um, I made bonus bonus ones just in case this happens. So I'm not worried about it. Heather is now giving him crap. and inspired Got it.

Speaker: Um, okay. go Okay. My last one, because I only have eight. So you guys might have more. Oh yeah, that's true. Um, okay. This will be my last one.

Speaker: I have no clue. Is that like je mac and cheese stirring? oh came It's not a loaf. Can you? I can turn it up. hello Play it again.

Speaker: It sounds like something stirring. No, maybe not. Maybe. It sounds like squishy. yeah like Like jello? I want to say it's jello. No, it sounds like I don't know.

Speaker: and one's hard. It's food. You guys got god it is food part, right? Yeah. Is it food like being cooked or like stirred? Cooked, yeah. Not mac and cheese? No. Soup?

Speaker: No. Mashed potatoes? No. you guys give up? Is it something we eat all the time? It's something we all eat for sure, yeah.

Speaker: Oh, great. Will it be at Thanksgiving? No. Okay. Oh, so it's cooked and we eat it all the time. But not at Thanksgiving. And it's not mac and cheese or mashed potatoes. Yeah, and i don't I don't know it then. Ramen?

Speaker: No. It's something frying in a pan.

Speaker: Play it again? Really? It sounds squishy. Frying an egg. Bacon. on i mean without Bacon. Okay, I hear the little pop. I heard the little pop.

Speaker: I didn't hear the pop. No, I didn't either until you said it, actually. so It did sound squishy, like you were stirring Jell-O. Okay. it's funny That wasn't too bad. Only the last one was really hard. Oh, man. You guys are really going to hate me. That was one of the first ones I picked. I was like, let me move that to the end.

Speaker: hey So mine will be a little out of order now since I have to play not repeat sounds. so this inspired This was my first one, but you guys already know that because you had it also.

Speaker: So I'm just showing you. keep bor Yeah. yeah So I'll get rid of that one and replace it with something. Yeah. Release it with this one here.

Speaker: And I'll turn this one up.

Speaker: Yeah, there we go. Did you hear it? No. Uh-uh. I was going to say, is something supposed to be playing? I don't hear anything. Oh, wait. I think I do. Hold on. but Oh, it's really low.

Speaker: sounds like somebody walking or something. It is? It's really low? I don't hear nothing. I turned it all the way up. Okay, I'll move on to this one then. I can hear it. It's just really low. sounds like somebody walking. Really? it doesn't for one It doesn't sound low on my end at all.

Speaker: but Ketchup, empty bottle ketchup. Yes. Was that one low too then? No. Not low. Okay. at all Yeah. That one is ketchup.

Speaker: So. All right. This is another repeat. And I guess he kind of. ah I'll just play it. That's a dog. yeah i was i was going to say I guess that's why Aaron probably said it wasn't different, but to me Dog drinking water.

Speaker: It should have counted as the same. yeah so um Here's the next one.

Speaker: Crushing a can? Yep. yeah can You want me to wait for you to answer, Heather? She just doesn't want talk. that's you know That's all it is. Just letting you have them.

Speaker: All the points. We'll just give Shelly all the points. Hold on. I gotta turn this up. Oh. Uh. Pen clicking.

Speaker: Pen clicking. Alright. Ready for this one?

Speaker: I know this one. Favorite pastime. Bubble poppin'. Bubble poppin'. Bubble rep. Yeah. That's what it is.

Speaker: Alright, next one. That scared me. You weren't ready for that? No. Do it again? i don't know what that is.

Speaker: Mine are not in order from. least Wait, I know. eies tardis they're just in Toaster popped. ye Is it? That was a so no such a guess. I almost picked that one. That's funny.

Speaker: yeah that That's what it is. a toaster I couldn't find a good one for that sound. That's why I didn't pick it. All right. Next one.

Speaker: A ball falling. Basketball. Yep. I've heard missing many, many times here at the house. I'm a basketball in my driveway. Yeah.

Speaker: That's funny. All right. So here's one. Sounds like a creek or something. Rain on the roof or rain on the outside?

Speaker: well Yeah, just rain. We're also going to rain. It's not raining inside. so um Okay, I'm just going to pick a couple of my bonus ones. um

Speaker: Some of them are repeats already, but we'll go with a couple that didn't, and then that'll be it for me.

Speaker: Um, that's one yeah. I won't go with that one since you kind of did already. Alright, so.

Speaker: Sounds like driving.

Speaker: Cooking something? Sounds like, like on a stove, like a gas stove. It's something specific. um Is this the mac and cheese one? No.

Speaker: Frying an egg? No. It's cooking something. It's cooking. It's on the stove. It's the process of cooking something.

Speaker: Boiling water. Yep. I was going to say that. Boiling water. Sorry, Heather. It's fine. The next one. You get all the points next. Next round.

Speaker: Squishies.

Speaker: Like slime or something. Mm-mm. somebody walking in mud nope it's still food oh

Speaker: um is it stirring something i have no idea sounds like chewing something no

Speaker: Stirring mac and cheese. No. I can't tell. i have no clue. Give up. um They're peeling a really squishy orange. Oh. yeah Wow. That's really squishy. I feel like they're squishing in it. yeah It does sound like they're squishing it.

Speaker: ah Okay. I can do These two are kind of the same. Stirring coffee. And my last one here. and my last one here

Speaker: tap dancing?

Speaker: Is it coconut? No, but that's... Nope. Oh, dripping from the bowl? ah Yeah, they're stirring steamed milk, so... Oh.

Speaker: I don't ever do that. I don't know what it sounds like. My first one was stirring mac and cheese. I mean, my technically my second one, but the one you guys couldn't hear.

Speaker: Oh. Oh, we guessed it anyways. Yeah. Somewhere along the lines. Yeah. Guessed it without hearing. Yeah. All right, Shelley. Okay. So of course, you know, I'm extra and I did everything different than you guys. i mean, two point. i have sounds, but I also have like a fun fact of the sound that I'm going to share. Yeah. And so when she told us this, we're like,

Speaker: What kind of sounds have fun facts, Shelly? What did you do? fact or a history or something? We're about to find out. Because I could not tell you the history or a fun fact about crushing a can. So I'm just saying.

Speaker: Okay. So here we go. Ready?

Speaker: Sounds like wolves are outside. Scary stuff.

Speaker: Somebody's screaming. Is that a werewolf? No. Somebody's screaming. Okay. Are these your own personal sounds? Yeah, I went outside and did these. ah So that's how she's giving us history.

Speaker: What's that? dog howling? A fox? Something? Fox. Yes, it is a screaming fox in the forest. Actually, did you know, fun fact, that...

Speaker: They vocalize for several reasons, most commonly a mating call for female. Yeah. buy No, that's by female too, shark male. I didn't know that, yeah. yeah It sounds like a human screaming or a child crying. All right.

Speaker: Number two. I guess maybe we grew up in Florida, so it doesn't sound like that me. I guess I could see how people might think it's screaming. Yeah. All right. Sorry about that. Technical difficulties, but I think we're good to go now.

Speaker: Yeah, i figured it out. Okay. So here is number two. Why can't I hear it now? ah what you Like writing?

Speaker: Nope. Tearing paper or something? It's really low, I think. Yeah, just home low. Want to play it again? Yeah.

Speaker: Is that better? Is it cutting paper? nope I already said that. Writing a pen? You said that too. Sharpening a knife? Nope. It has nothing to do with paper.

Speaker: I don't have a clue. No. It is a vegetable getting peeled. Potato getting peeled. I guess I was close oh with like a potato peeler? Yeah.

Speaker: I was close with no sharpening a knife. Yeah. Did you know that it was invented in 1947? Nope, I didn't know that. In Switzerland, after Alfred, I'm not even going attempt his last name, ah in Switzerland, he was tasked with peeling large quantities of potato in the Swiss Army, so he came up with that. Well, I'm thankful for him because i would not peel potatoes without it. Okay.

Speaker: I'd pass that on to somebody else if I have to with a knife. actually this I already do. Ready? Mm-hmm. A staple. Yep. And did you know that the stapler has a long history?

Speaker: It was invented, or it was a gift for the King of France, King Louis XV. Why did he need to have a stapler? um Because he needed all his papers fastened.

Speaker: He was the only one, huh? Together. He was the only one. What about like a paperclip? That was invented back in those days. So there's a stapler was invented for for a paperclip?

Speaker: Well, I don't know, Victoria. think it was so hard to get fun facts. If you're going to have fun facts, I need all of them, okay? All right. You should get this one. Ready?

Speaker: I'm ready. It was really low. Oh, was it? mean it It's very quick. Ready? Did you hear it? Somebody walking? Running in the grass.

Speaker: Okay. Yeah. I don't hear that. But it was so low. it was like so low. It's ah one second. That's why. Oh. I don't heard anything.

Speaker: They can't hear it. That's their guess. Somebody walking. she just got lucky this time. Okay. Number five. Can you hear it? Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: you hear it yeah An owl? They can't eat to communicate. Isn't that what all animals do? I mean, nah.

Speaker: Don't all animals hoot? It'll be funny. Alright, number six. You guys probably have never heard this before, maybe. So it's a Canadian thing.

Speaker: I want to just throw it in there. um Nope. Sounds like a bird or something. yeah it's So it's the loon. it's so It's a loon. Yeah. it's Whenever you go camping, you always hear it in the water.

Speaker: They're really pretty birds. A bird in the water? i think they fly. I'm sure they fly. I think they fly. They fly in the water or... Yeah.

Speaker: Okay. Okay. ready ready cleaning a window cleaning a glass thing or wiping like yes but but what your finger or finger yes okay ready number eight we don't get a fun fact about that uh no wow okay no fun fact about that fun fact this whole time and now we don't get fun facts about scraping your finger on a glass that's really really chilly just be careful to not leave fingerprints okay all right i think that's gonna leave fingerprints yeah thanks so too

Speaker: a sewing machine yes i'm glad you got it Did you know anything about a sewing machine? I spent all day the other day on the sewing machine, so... So it was invented, I think, in 1793 France. No, sorry, not 1793. Wow. The dude was born in 1793. When was the typewriter? He was French inventor who...

Speaker: one was that french in venture who ah invented the first sewing machine that replaced sewing by hand. His name was Barth... Barth... So, I mean, you or Barth-semi?

Speaker: He must have been real tired of sewing by hand. Yeah. Okay, ready? Was he like a seamstress or seam... Was that a seamstress still a guy, too? Sure.

Speaker: Okay. Sure. It could have been. Mm-hmm. Shelly's giving us half fun facts here, guys. Half fun facts.

Speaker: Sharpening a knife. Yeah, knives. I guess that was way earlier on. And did you know that knives, things to sharpen, have been around for more than 3 million years?

Speaker: I would assume that, yeah. Okay, and this is... It's long time, though. It is, yeah. They used to use... um d I guess I didn't. Never mind. I don't know. They used to use stones.

Speaker: I have a question, Shelley. my gosh. isn it Are you leaning forward to talk in your mic or did you trust your camera down? Sorry. I was getting a little comfortable. Because we're like seeing your chin up. I'm sorry.

Speaker: yeah Okay, that's it. Continue. How many more? Just calling me out. Oh, no. This is the last one. That's what we're here for. Ready? Yep. I'll sit up with this. Sit straight.

Speaker: A dog. moose. A what? moose.

Speaker: No. You think people know you.

Speaker: A panda. A panda. A panda whining after she scolded me because I was leaning. That's me. You act like I hear those on a daily basis or something. Shelly just goes around listening to panda noises all day. like And did you know that a panda is my favorite animal, everybody?

Speaker: did know that, yeah. No way, Shelly. I didn't know that.

Speaker: How would they know? There's not a single panda behind you. know, was to there's not a single panda behind you. There's not a single panda behind you. It's supposed to be everything you love there. I didn't have the wall space.

Speaker: ah You have plenty of wall space there. Yeah. Oh, I wanted to actually... all space I wanted to do Hugh Forge of a panda. I just haven't had the time yet.

Speaker: Oh, that's what I'll do. I'll do Hugh Forge. I'll put it... Yeah, see? Right here. Make it like long ways and put it right there. Yeah. Yeah. that's it. That's my sounds and uh... That's your sounds. They weren't too bad.

Speaker: Do we want to do some of my extra ones real quick? And then we'll be done. guess Sure. and but's i wanted to do this It's really good. And I feel like it might be easy, but maybe not. We'll see.

Speaker: That wasn't quite anyone frying something. You're cooking an egg. Scrambled eggs. It's always eggs.

Speaker: Yeah, it's just frying. It's frying peppers and onions, but that part's with a wooden spoon. I feel like the onions and peppers weren't. How would you tell that? Yeah. And then this one. Pouring cereal. Pouring something into a bowl. Yeah, something into a bowl.

Speaker: Not cereal, but it is pouring something into a bowl.

Speaker: chips oh it's just some pretty chips some pretty cheese puffs they sound like some heavy chips it's cheese puffs supposedly I don't know does it sound like cheese puffs does that help I would not have guessed that don't

Speaker: yeah actually that's it i actually it's funny because I actually have bacon here too so frying bacon

Speaker: Mine's more obvious though. obvious fisher So yeah, I think that's going to end this episode for today. any last comments or anything?

Speaker: No, not really. We're going December next month. Next month. next week, I mean. And, oh yeah, happy Thanksgiving to everybody. Because that will be tomorrow.

Speaker: Technically. yeah Yeah. Happy Thanksgiving. Brother's wedding on Sunday. So we have a busy week. Yep. So then we can also post our cosplay pictures of all the D&D outfits and cosplays we've been putting together this whole time. So.

Speaker: Yeah. Which will be really fun. It will be fun. i'm I'm excited to see the pictures of just everybody. i also just picture everybody sitting at the wedding just. Yeah. Like full D&D cosplay. It's going be funny.

Speaker: It'll be fun though. that's And it's going to be a cool day thankfully in Florida. Thank goodness. Because I'm going to be dying in cosplay. My cloak is pretty heavy. Is it? My mask is pretty heavy. mean...

Speaker: is it

Speaker: You're going to dying with that. have layers on, but most of my layers are thin so I wasn't too worried about it. dress is really thin. It's really just going to be like my face that's dying, so I'll just bring my fan with me. Yeah.

Speaker: Just open up your mouth and put the fan That's what I'm saying.

Speaker: Nobody has to see the fan sitting inside my mask. It's fine. Hiding underneath all my feathers. You hear a weird noise coming from my face. It's ignorering it's a call. so Yeah, exactly. Kenkus can't talk. So, well, Stephen says they can now, but I don't, I haven't, I obviously don't keep up with that.

Speaker: um So yeah, but I don't know. I think it describes our family really well. Just as to all go into a wedding dressed as cosplay. What else? I mean, that's normal around here, right? but Yeah. um So yeah, we'll definitely have to post pictures of that. um I hope everybody has an amazing Thanksgiving.
