"Taylor what's this podcast even about??" It's about you really. The Solarpreneur, those of us who not only sell solar but are also dedicated to becoming the best we can be at it. Sure we could sell for the Summer or a year and MAYBE get a few installations a month, but that would hurt people like you and I too much. We don't settle for small commissions when we know there's so much more we are capable of. Selling solar does not have to be miserable, contrary to popular belief, and that's what my mission is all about!! I know how easy it is to get just 2 installations EVERY WEEK with simple strategies. I do this nearly every week because I value my time with my family and friends more than "grinding". I systematize my knocking and automate my follow ups and I want to be sure others like me know exactly how to do the same thing.

Transcript

Speaker: Welcome to the Solarpreneur Podcast, where we teach you to take your solar business to the next level.

Speaker: My name is Taylor Armstrong.

Speaker: I went from $50 in my bank account and struggling for groceries to closing 150 deals in a year and cracking the code on why cells reps fail.

Speaker: I teach you how to avoid the mistakes I made and bring in the top solar dogs of the industry to let you in on the secrets of generating more leads and

Speaker: falling up like a pro and closing more deals.

Speaker: What is a solopreneur, you might ask?

Speaker: A solopreneur is a new breed of solopro that is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve mastery, and you are about to become one.

Speaker: What's up, solopreneurs?

Speaker: Your host, Taylor Armstrong here, and we are doing something awesome.

Speaker: This is episode 000.

Speaker: What is episode 000, you may ask?

Speaker: Well, this episode is going to tell you exactly what the show is about, why you should listen to it, why you should listen to me, how often we're going to be releasing shows, and why should you even be a subscriber?

Speaker: Why should you continue listening?

Speaker: So if you're new to the show, welcome to the show.

Speaker: If you've been listening for a while, listen to this episode, and I am just going to clarify to you why you

Speaker: You should even be listening to this show and what we're freaking talking about.

Speaker: So let's jump into it.

Speaker: Episode 000.

Speaker: So what are we even talking about here?

Speaker: The Solarpreneur Podcast.

Speaker: What is a solarpreneur?

Speaker: We did release an episode on this.

Speaker: I believe it's actually episode number one.

Speaker: We take even kind of a deeper dive into this.

Speaker: But just to give you kind of a summary of what the Solarpreneur Podcast is all about.

Speaker: It's about helping you take your solar skills to the next level in all aspects of selling.

Speaker: You see, something I learned very quickly in this industry is

Speaker: Well, quickly at times, but slow in the beginning.

Speaker: Because there's a lot that goes into selling slower.

Speaker: You got to learn how to close.

Speaker: You got to learn how to prospect.

Speaker: You got to learn how to knock doors.

Speaker: If you're doing online leads, you need to know how to call these leads.

Speaker: You need to know how often to follow up.

Speaker: You need to set up sequences.

Speaker: You need to learn marketing, learn how to work with the team, all these different things.

Speaker: How do you do all of it at once?

Speaker: It's a ton of things that go into this job.

Speaker: So that's what we're all about in this show.

Speaker: We're here to help you increase your abilities in every single aspect of your selling, whether it be prospecting, marketing, closing, or getting more referrals.

Speaker: We're talking about all of it.

Speaker: It's going to help you crush the game, work less hours, which...

Speaker: I don't encourage work more.

Speaker: But if you want to work less hours and get more sales, because that's what we're doing.

Speaker: We want to spend time with those important in our lives.

Speaker: That's what the show is about.

Speaker: And that's what solopreneurs are.

Speaker: They're taking their skills to the next level and they're learning all aspects of this.

Speaker: They're building up teams because the truth is you need to know all of it.

Speaker: But should you be doing all of it?

Speaker: Not necessarily.

Speaker: You should be building teams to help you do things that you're not as good in.

Speaker: So that is what this show is all about.

Speaker: And I want to help you know how I failed to achieve this success.

Speaker: I didn't get here by accident.

Speaker: I didn't get here without making mistakes and spending money on all these things.

Speaker: It's a hard road.

Speaker: So I'm going to show you with you what I've learned along with interviewing people that are experts.

Speaker: Okay, and how often are we going to hear an episode?

Speaker: If you've been listening to the show for a while, you know that at times it is sporadic.

Speaker: The truth is I'm selling, I'm growing a team, I'm doing all these things as well.

Speaker: Hey, I've got my money where my mouth is.

Speaker: I'm not just some random guy talking about it.

Speaker: closing deals or hypothetical strategies, I'm actually out there hitting the payments.

Speaker: I'm going in appointments.

Speaker: I'm doing all this stuff.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And so that's why it has been sporadic at times.

Speaker: As far as going forward, what we're going to do, it's actually a little bit shorter episodes if you've listened to previous episodes.

Speaker: We're going to break it now into two episodes a week.

Speaker: They're generally going to be 10, probably no more than 20 minutes long.

Speaker: Generally around 10 minutes, shorter episodes, very actionable.

Speaker: Because what we don't want to happen is people listen to a 45-minute episode.

Speaker: There's all this content they're listening to at the gym.

Speaker: They don't write anything down.

Speaker: You felt good while you're listening to it.

Speaker: That's cool, Taylor.

Speaker: But now, are you going to implement?

Speaker: I want this to be for you.

Speaker: implementable strategies, things you can take action on.

Speaker: That's why we're breaking it into shorter episodes, but the goal is to be more frequent here.

Speaker: Okay, so two episodes a week, that's going to be the norm from now on.

Speaker: Obviously, I'm still human.

Speaker: I'm not going to promise that for 52 weeks, there may be a week skipped.

Speaker: But two episodes a week is what you're going to be able to expect moving forward.

Speaker: We're still going to get you awesome interviews.

Speaker: There's awesome people in the industry.

Speaker: There's people that are dominating.

Speaker: I don't have all the answers, and that's why we are bringing on top experts.

Speaker: We're bringing on people to also teach me, which I like.

Speaker: And then also you can listen on and hear what these experts are doing to crush it in the industry.

Speaker: So that's the content.

Speaker: And just a little bit about me.

Speaker: If you haven't heard me on the show,

Speaker: Taylor Armstrong again.

Speaker: I've been doing this since 2016.

Speaker: Again, we're bringing on experts, but just so you know that hopefully you can take some advice from me.

Speaker: I do have the Golden Door Award.

Speaker: Anyone that doesn't know, that's 100 installs in a year.

Speaker: So I got that last year.

Speaker: I don't proclaim to be the world's greatest solar salesman.

Speaker: I'm learning every day.

Speaker: I'm learning from people that are closing way more deals.

Speaker: But I have closed out myself.

Speaker: Like I said, I am doing this every single day.

Speaker: I'm learning every single day.

Speaker: That's what I'm doing.

Speaker: I'm here to share with you the mistakes I made.

Speaker: So the truth is when I came out here, and we'll delve more into this.

Speaker: I probably told the stories when I came out here.

Speaker: I had about 50 bucks in my bank account.

Speaker: So I want to share with you what took me from 50 bucks in my bank account to closing more than 150 deals, getting more than 100 installs, and the things that have helped me.

Speaker: And then last thing, we just want you to subscribe.

Speaker: If you haven't been subscribing to the show,

Speaker: We're going to be dropping bonus episodes, bonus content.

Speaker: Go join the Facebook group if you haven't already.

Speaker: We've got an awesome Facebook group.

Speaker: We're striving to make it even better.

Speaker: We've got a free closers guide.

Speaker: If you subscribe and you join our Facebook group, we're giving you access to a super secret closing guide.

Speaker: It's nice to be nice, but I understand most people aren't going to go subscribe, leave ratings just from me telling them.

Speaker: So we're going to give you awesome bonus content, awesome giveaways, and things you're not going to want to miss out on.

Speaker: So this is episode 000.

Speaker: Hopefully it clarifies a little bit.

Speaker: What are we about?

Speaker: What are we going to do moving forward?

Speaker: How frequently are we publishing?

Speaker: I want to give you the official welcome to the show.

Speaker: If you're new, then I want to thank you for listening so far.
