00:02:19
Speaker
Well, let's get right into it.

Eric's Personal Hero's Journey

00:02:21
Speaker
Let's talk about the hero's journey.
00:02:23
Speaker
So the intentions of this episode is to kind of dive deep into my journey of being a hero, where I come from.
00:02:29
Speaker
So this past weekend, I was in Baltimore, Maryland to see a good friend of mine, Walter Sanders.
00:02:36
Speaker
He goes by Stone Heavy Hitter.
00:02:37
Speaker
He's a boxer to box in this match.
00:02:41
Speaker
And at the time, you know, all my friends, childhood friends, at least three of them came up to join the fight.
00:02:47
Speaker
And this is probably like the first time in like 20 years.
00:02:50
Speaker
All been in the same presence of one another at once.
00:02:54
Speaker
Unfortunately, the fight didn't happen.
00:02:56
Speaker
His opponent blood results came back negative or bad and he couldn't fight.
00:03:00
Speaker
So I don't know if he has some.
00:03:02
Speaker
enhancing performance drugs.
00:03:04
Speaker
I don't know.
00:03:05
Speaker
He didn't fight.
00:03:06
Speaker
But the root of it all, we were able to come together, connect, reminisce, and I felt like a kid again.
00:03:13
Speaker
And this was the first time in 13 years being away from home that I felt what it felt like to come back home as the hero.
00:03:23
Speaker
So I'm going to give you a little bit of background on the hero's journey and how it works and what it really means.
00:03:29
Speaker
So I have a chart here and basically it's departure.
00:03:33
Speaker
So my departure was 2010, June 12, 2010 is when I booked that Huawei flight, had a thousand dollars to my name.
00:03:41
Speaker
From Baltimore, I came to L.A.
00:03:44
Speaker
And then you have the initiation, then you have the return.
00:03:46
Speaker
So the return is what I just recently felt for the first time because I've been back and forth from L.A.
00:03:53
Speaker
to Baltimore for years.
00:03:53
Speaker
But this is the first time I felt like the hero will return back home.

From Baltimore to LA: The Adventure Begins

00:03:59
Speaker
So the departure, you know, when I left in June 12, 2010, they call it the call of adventure.
00:04:06
Speaker
I went on an adventure to discover who I am and what I am and what I'm going to do in this lifetime.
00:04:10
Speaker
Right.
00:04:11
Speaker
And I remember getting on that flight and shout out to Aunt Femaine.
00:04:16
Speaker
She was asking me, are you going to come back?
00:04:17
Speaker
I said, I'm not coming back to Baltimore.
00:04:19
Speaker
I'm gone.
00:04:20
Speaker
So $1,000, that's in my name.
00:04:23
Speaker
Some of you guys know the story.
00:04:24
Speaker
But anyway, a good buddy of mine at the time, Nick Shabbat, he's a celebrity barber, picked me up from the airport.
00:04:29
Speaker
I stayed with him for two weeks.
00:04:31
Speaker
He was such a pivotal moment in my career out here because he helped me get started.
00:04:35
Speaker
Thank you, Nick.
00:04:36
Speaker
We don't speak anymore, but it's all love.
00:04:39
Speaker
And then a few weeks after that, I ran into the CEO and founder of
00:04:46
Speaker
Aisha Pinky Cole of Slutty Vegan, the owner of Slutty Vegan.
00:04:50
Speaker
She's from Baltimore.
00:04:51
Speaker
We went to high school together.
00:04:52
Speaker
And I ran into her at the club called the Key Club on Sunset at the time.
00:04:57
Speaker
And from there, she helped me, you know, find an apartment.
00:05:01
Speaker
She was the one who told me I should do background acting.
00:05:03
Speaker
And she's super successful.
00:05:05
Speaker
I think her company is worth like $100 million, evaluation.
00:05:08
Speaker
So shout out to Pinky.
00:05:09
Speaker
Congratulations on all your success.
00:05:11
Speaker
True angel in my life.
00:05:12
Speaker
And always supported and gave to me.
00:05:14
Speaker
So I'm thankful for that.
00:05:16
Speaker
So, boom, I

Breakthrough in LA

00:05:18
Speaker
come out here.
00:05:18
Speaker
I give you synopsis of, you know, a little initiation of how I started.
00:05:23
Speaker
And then I just went on this journey of like to find myself from doing background acting, Uber, selling Kangen water machines and going to alkaline water, a bit of, you know, a door guide, a nightclub, personal training, auditioning, background acting, all the things.
00:05:40
Speaker
And, you know, my seventh year out here in L.A.,
00:05:44
Speaker
is where I feel like it was a little bit after the initiation is where I kind of like, oh, wow, I had my first opportunity to be on a TV show and to become something and to be visible and to be seen for who I am and not what I look like, right?
00:06:01
Speaker
So it took seven years for something magical to happen.
00:06:05
Speaker
Miracle season.
00:06:06
Speaker
And that's when Miracle season was born in 2017.
00:06:07
Speaker
How crazy is that, right?
00:06:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:06:10
Speaker
You know, I've been on the shows on TV for 10 weeks.
00:06:12
Speaker
It changed my life.
00:06:13
Speaker
I'm with the Sixth Country, so I love.
00:06:15
Speaker
Boom, jumped off the show, did another show, went through games at the end of that year.
00:06:19
Speaker
Boom, waited another summer and did Bachelor in Paradise.
00:06:23
Speaker
And I did, that was 2018.
00:06:24
Speaker
Then I did Mastery from Kim with Viacom and Elon Gale.
00:06:28
Speaker
Shouts out to him.
00:06:29
Speaker
And Pepsi.
00:06:30
Speaker
It was a great opportunity in 2021.

Personal Growth and Self-Discovery

00:06:33
Speaker
And then from there, I just went on this whole discovery of finding my true self, going through ego death and going through pain and shame and guilt, fear and all these things.
00:06:44
Speaker
The hero.
00:06:45
Speaker
So last week, coming all the way back home.
00:06:50
Speaker
And I can say now with all that experience and respect this.
00:06:59
Speaker
travel, change, challenges.
00:07:03
Speaker
I can really appreciate how to return home as self.
00:07:07
Speaker
And, you know, some of you might take the comments and return home.
00:07:10
Speaker
Like, are you moving back home?
00:07:11
Speaker
No, no, no, I'm not moving back home.
00:07:13
Speaker
I don't know.
00:07:13
Speaker
Maybe.
00:07:14
Speaker
Who knows?
00:07:14
Speaker
The universe is always in control and we let it.
00:07:18
Speaker
But the return home for me was that now I can see me how everybody else see me or saw me for so long.
00:07:26
Speaker
Because I think my struggle in most of my life was...
00:07:30
Speaker
I didn't see myself the way others saw me because I was so had these big ideals and big ambitions.
00:07:37
Speaker
And, you know, I would tell my mom, like, if I didn't change your life, don't be proud of me.
00:07:40
Speaker
I changed your facial expression.
00:07:42
Speaker
You're smiling.
00:07:43
Speaker
You're happy.
00:07:44
Speaker
But I didn't change your life.
00:07:45
Speaker
So I put all this pressure on myself to be this person, to do this thing.
00:07:49
Speaker
And then I, you know, going back this past weekend, I'm like, I can really appreciate who I am, what I've been through.
00:07:55
Speaker
I can see the city of Baltimore for what it is.
00:07:57
Speaker
I can see the people there.
00:07:58
Speaker
I can appreciate where they are in their paradigm and their thinking and their actions and their behavior.
00:08:05
Speaker
No judgment, just grace and compassion.
00:08:09
Speaker
And it's like, that was the first time I'm like, man,
00:08:12
Speaker
I'm so, so grateful to be from Baltimore City.
00:08:16
Speaker
I'm so grateful for all the challenges and changes when I was there.
00:08:20
Speaker
The violence, the drugs, the negativity, fears, to making it out, to getting out and becoming a name or someone for everybody, for yourself, for your family.
00:08:32
Speaker
And it felt good.
00:08:34
Speaker
So this podcast is dedicated to any and everyone who's on a journey now.
00:08:40
Speaker
Because as I returned home, now I'm on a new journey.
00:08:44
Speaker
I'm on my second level of dreaming and going to the next level.
00:08:49
Speaker
The quote was a great quote by Tony Robbins.
00:08:52
Speaker
And he says, success is getting what you want.
00:08:57
Speaker
But fulfillment is doing what you're made for.
00:09:01
Speaker
And now I get to do what I'm made for.
00:09:03
Speaker
I get to do the things that are in alignment with my soul, my soul attractions, my soul purpose, right?
00:09:09
Speaker
I would tell people just because money's involved doesn't mean you got

Struggles, Fulfillment, and Transformation

00:09:13
Speaker
to say yes to it.
00:09:13
Speaker
And in some instance, you might on your journey, right?
00:09:16
Speaker
Like I did.
00:09:17
Speaker
But if it's not an environment, if it doesn't speak my French or my energy, I don't really want it because energy is everything.
00:09:27
Speaker
And if you're doing things because you can oppose to doing it because you really want to, you'll see the difference in your outcomes, your results, your relationships.
00:09:35
Speaker
And so I'm here to tell everyone listening and watching, however,
00:09:40
Speaker
Go for it.
00:09:41
Speaker
Get after it.
00:09:42
Speaker
There's going to be struggles.
00:09:43
Speaker
There's going to be challenges.
00:09:44
Speaker
There's going to be changes.
00:09:45
Speaker
There's going to be adversity.
00:09:47
Speaker
There's going to be fears.
00:09:48
Speaker
There's going to be setbacks.
00:09:49
Speaker
There's going to be hardships.
00:09:51
Speaker
There's going to be everything.
00:09:52
Speaker
You go to need.
00:09:54
Speaker
You don't need more than a magic mind shot.
00:09:56
Speaker
You don't need a miracle in disguise.
00:09:59
Speaker
You don't need some prayer.
00:10:00
Speaker
You don't need some faith.
00:10:01
Speaker
You don't need some movement working out.
00:10:04
Speaker
You don't need some clarity.
00:10:05
Speaker
You might be able to read some books, run into some people.
00:10:08
Speaker
But the main thing is not to give up.
00:10:10
Speaker
I experienced some very dark moments these last few years of my journey that made me really wake up to the journey of the hero, call home.
00:10:19
Speaker
And I think last year was a rebirth, the rebirth of who I am and what I'm becoming.
00:10:25
Speaker
The old self, the guy who left in 2010 to who I am in 2024 was completely different.
00:10:31
Speaker
And I'm just thankful.
00:10:33
Speaker
And, you know, being a hero sometimes is not easy because I had to jump to get the faith.
00:10:37
Speaker
I had to take the chance to advance.
00:10:40
Speaker
I had to be the trailblazer.
00:10:42
Speaker
I had to lead with no direction.
00:10:44
Speaker
I had to lead with no guidance to find guidance on the direction that I am going.
00:10:50
Speaker
But it feels good to know the truth.
00:10:52
Speaker
It feels good to experience some contrast on a journey, some resistance.
00:10:58
Speaker
I just want to be a beaming light for those who might be struggling, who's going through something, or who's on a journey, or who might be in the same

Collective Growth and Purpose

00:11:04
Speaker
space I'm in.
00:11:04
Speaker
Like,
00:11:05
Speaker
I always say, you're better than no one and no one's better than you.
00:11:09
Speaker
Right?
00:11:09
Speaker
Like, we all are the same, meaning collectively.
00:11:13
Speaker
So if I hurt you, I just hurt a few other people.
00:11:16
Speaker
Right?
00:11:17
Speaker
If I can help you, I can help a few other people.
00:11:19
Speaker
So the main thing for the hero on your journey is to stay the course, to seek perspective, advice, wisdom, and don't allow the bad moment to
00:11:31
Speaker
To feel like you have a bad life.
00:11:33
Speaker
Don't let one setback be the end of your legacy of who you are and what you're becoming because it gets scary.
00:11:40
Speaker
Especially for me, you know, creating a brand, being a brand, doing 101 things, being the face, being the voice, being a talent, being the speaker, being the marketer, the motivator, being all the things, wearing all the hats.
00:11:55
Speaker
Fear does creep in.
00:11:56
Speaker
Doubt does come up.
00:11:57
Speaker
But, you know, you keep going and you just have faith and you trust something greater.
00:12:02
Speaker
Blessed by the best.
00:12:04
Speaker
God is the greatest in the ladies, I like to say.
00:12:06
Speaker
Things turn out for your greater good and your highest good if you believe and you trust.
00:12:11
Speaker
But I like to say, I don't like to say I believe.
00:12:15
Speaker
I believe I don't.
00:12:17
Speaker
I know I'm so normal.
00:12:18
Speaker
I know I'm incredible.
00:12:20
Speaker
I know I have the power to help people see their power.
00:12:23
Speaker
I know I can inspire someone to change their life for good.
00:12:27
Speaker
I know I'm here on a mission to raise the frequency of the planet.
00:12:31
Speaker
I know.
00:12:31
Speaker
Don't believe that.
00:12:32
Speaker
I know.
00:12:33
Speaker
So with that faith and confidence, I'm so certain that if you're listening to this,
00:12:38
Speaker
It's purposeful.
00:12:39
Speaker
You're supposed to.
00:12:41
Speaker
And you need this message because it came through me to speak this today.
00:12:45
Speaker
And I'm so thankful for the opportunity to reconnect with everybody, no matter what part of their

Connection and Engagement

00:12:51
Speaker
journey they're on.

00:13:10
Speaker
I don't want people to be fans of the show or follow me just for the hell of it.
00:13:14

00:13:16
Speaker
Let's connect.
00:13:17
Speaker
Let's go deep.
00:13:17
Speaker
Let's be real.
00:13:19
Speaker
Let's evolve together.
00:13:20
Speaker
So, so thankful and just full of love and gratitude that I can share these experiences with you guys.
00:13:27
Speaker
And I want you to know that, you know, I'm still growing.
00:13:30
Speaker
I'm still learning, still evolving.
00:13:32
Speaker
There's still things I have to work on as an individual.
00:13:34
Speaker
I'm not perfect.
00:13:35
Speaker
I have tough days and down days.
00:13:37
Speaker
And the way I get over it is I pray, I work out, and I just keep having faith and using my tools that I've developed over the years to be where I'm at today.

Tools for Personal Growth

00:13:49
Speaker
But yeah, so go, I'm going to put this in the show notes.
