Quebec senator aims to stop Canadian banks funding fossil fuels

In March of this year, Québec senator Rosa Galvez tabled Bill S-243, the Climate Aligned Finance Act. Her bill aims to hold governments and financial institutions to account for their actions, and halt the widespread financial backing of fossil fuels.
