Anniversary Celebration & Listener Questions

00:00:01
Speaker
Hey y'all! Welcome to a very special bonus episode of Snap on This. This is part of our ongoing anniversary celebration because episode 52 is this week. um We got a surprise guest from ah KM Best and we had a ton of fun ah answering a couple listener questions with him and playing a game.
00:00:20
Speaker
ah But if we put this in the normal episode as we were planning to do, that ended up going long and it would be a four hour episode. So... This is a second bonus episode this week.
00:00:31
Speaker
Enjoy.

Upcoming Episodes & Casual Chat

00:00:32
Speaker
if this is the first one you're watching, we also have Magic Magic, a tabletop RPG that we played with Mod Supreme Models. And of course, our normal episode also coming out this week.
00:00:42
Speaker
They're all great and it's good content and it's a ton of content, but um most of it isn't time sensitive. So, you know, take breaks or use the chapters if you don't want to listen to the whole thing.
00:00:56
Speaker
ah But anyway, it's super fun. Play along. uh enjoy there's my dog on to the side quests and this week we have a bunch because of you know anniversary celebration normally we would do secret homework first but of course remy is gonna come and start bugging right at the beginning like that's hum mono i'm really but he's really good at it my cat does it whenever i sit in here and start putting on what i would call custom
00:01:27
Speaker
It's the voice. ru Oh. I was going to have him come say hi, but other mama's already pulling him away with treats. Okay.
00:01:40
Speaker
No, it's fine. We can just get started. Leave this in. Yeah, leave it in. What are you drinking, by the way? The color is freaking me out.
00:01:51
Speaker
This is ready. hello Oh, my God.
00:01:59
Speaker
It's a

Feature Guest: KM Best on Marvel Snap

00:02:00
Speaker
prong it ah blueberry lavender iced tea that I called blue. was confused because I saw that and the only frame of reference I have for that growing up in the South is like, oh, it's grape Kool-Aid.
00:02:14
Speaker
And it's just that that's a crazy way to drink a grape Kool-Aid. Like, I was just like, I don't really know what else it could have been. Like, that's the frame of reference I have. Like, blueberry lavender iced tea. Okay, alright, you're from the North. I get We don't have that here.
00:02:30
Speaker
Okay. it's my to cake Take two, and if Remy fucking interrupts me, I'm just gonna push through. um Leave it all in.
00:02:45
Speaker
Yeah. Okay. Everybody loves the pet interruptions, for sure. It's humanizing. is. Look, I'm gonna i'm gonna take it again.
00:02:58
Speaker
And in editing, i'll I'll leave it all in.
00:03:03
Speaker
my strategy. No, you know what? It's actually how I edit. I haven't even introduced our special guest, but by his request, this is all staying in the pod. So...
00:03:15
Speaker
I guess you all witnessed everything that just happened. um So instead of doing secret homework first this week, we are going to ah hang out with our special guest. Surprise. KM Best. Marvel Snap Phenom. Phenom.
00:03:30
Speaker
Yeah. It's right there in the name. KM Best. KM. I mean, I have to imagine everybody who's listening to this knows who you are. But do you want to tell us just a little bit about yourself?
00:03:45
Speaker
It's just a weird intro to get. i don't know. I am CamBest. I stream Marvel Snap on Twitch where you can see me crashing out about my opponents getting very lucky and myself being very unlucky.
00:03:58
Speaker
ah Typical fare, really. On YouTube, I am generally a let's teach you about the meta kind of guy. i think that this sort of gives people a perception That like I am some sort of joyless tech slop enjoyer. And I came on this podcast largely to reinforce that perception to sort of try to convey to the community that I'm actually like a sort of severus snake.
00:04:27
Speaker
i just I hate you for no good reason, and that's why I play Shang-G in all my decks. like it's not It's not that I'm interested in winning. It's like i want to deprive the world of joy, and that is the ethos of my Marvel Snap career.
00:04:44
Speaker
Mm-hmm. Sandcastle kicker at heart. Yeah. um That's... Perfect. ah So, first up, we're going to answer a couple of the listener questions that you all submitted ah that I thought would be fun to discuss with KM.
00:04:57
Speaker
And then we're going to take full advantage of KM's competitive mindset and play a silly game. So... um The first question comes from Freemium.
00:05:08
Speaker
It is who is your favorite Marvel character that isn't in the game yet? And

Doctor Strange & Comic Themes

00:05:14
Speaker
broadly, what would they do if they were a card? i I have the world's most cop-out answer to this.
00:05:21
Speaker
Oh, really? like such a cop-out. It's like the world's most obvious. like this is this I have two good answers, okay? One answer is the answer that's almost certainly going to happen at some point. One answer is the answer is that will never, ever happen.
00:05:35
Speaker
The answer that will almost certainly happen at some point is the maker. And I think what they should do for the maker is they should just take a current Reed Richards card, give it plus one power, and be like, that's the maker.
00:05:47
Speaker
And then just like this just don't actually engage with anything. Just like, here is explicit power free. It is the maker. That's what I do for the maker. That's perfect.
00:05:59
Speaker
The card I want, though, is the Minotaur Dario Otter. i don't know i don't know if this is like a name drop for a lot of people, but he is sort of Ewing's way of working through the sort of capitalist nature of comic books, effectively. He is a businessman who literally transforms himself into a half-man, half-bull, you know, a bull market.
00:06:26
Speaker
who constantly, in pursuit of profit, physically mutilates himself but doesn't ever die, just keeps getting more and more physically mutilated over a period of time.
00:06:40
Speaker
At one point, he buys the rights to Thor and uses a magic spell to replace him with Enchantress's familiar. All of his things are just like, every time he shows up, it's like a sort of vague capitalist fever dream thing going on with him.
00:06:57
Speaker
Nobody other than me And apparently maybe two people on this podcast know who he is, though. He will never show up. He will never ever make it. Everyone should read Immortal Hulk.
00:07:08
Speaker
Those are my answers. I was on like, what am I trying to say? ah Veil removed. The reason I included this question is because I wanted to hear you talk about Dario Acker. don't even know how to pronounce his name.
00:07:22
Speaker
I only don't read it. I've never heard anyone say his name. um never had I've never heard it. screenshotted with my phone so many pages from that like most recent run.
00:07:34
Speaker
and and I like just kept forcing all my friends and like, no, you have to say, this is so good. It's so good. Like the rocks on Hammer or whatever. It's just everything's too good.
00:07:46
Speaker
Yes. one of the friends, I enjoyed it. And that's the only reason I know about this character. There is a bit sort of tangential to Dario in Immortal Hulk where, are you familiar with the leopards eating people's faces tweet?
00:08:02
Speaker
Mm-hmm. It's a subreddit, but yes. It started from a tweet, I believe. And there are literally... a pair of demon leopards eating people's faces who get their faces eaten off and say, I didn't think it would happen to me.
00:08:17
Speaker
Al Ewing is not exactly subtle about where he is politically. And I, like, it's sort of just, like, sledgehammering the concept. Like, it is very literally a man bull who has a death drive to get richer at all costs. Like, this is not the world's most subtle metaphor.
00:08:36
Speaker
But I really like it. Yeah, I love his whole speech about the you know the companies that are going to make fun of themselves and it's fine because we're doing it on social media and we're just one of you. and yeah, it's so good.
00:08:48
Speaker
um It's really good, yeah. Do you have any thoughts about what he would do as a card? Okay. i can't i feel like You're asking me to design ah a card in a card game for capitalist accumulation.
00:09:00
Speaker
yeah Not really. i think i think you could give him Deadpool's test. It's much cooler if it is Deadpool. But I think like that is the kind of space you'd want to put him in.
00:09:13
Speaker
Where it's like this very explicit, like pay a cost for something larger, right? Like, and it's not even like it's going to help you. It's like he he would be like a win more card.
00:09:23
Speaker
Like every lane you're winning gets power or something like that. Like that would be deal. love that. Oh, that's great. Okay.
00:09:33
Speaker
Ben or Ray, either of you anxious to answer the question? Give something ready. I'll leap right in there. I want Toad. I talk about it a lot. you know yeah Mortimer Toad would be. Get him in the mix.
00:09:47
Speaker
Rhi, who do you want to okay i he say? Oh, okay. He would do something with move. He would move some cards. i don't know. yeah absolutely i was going to ask about, like, I had one follow-up there.
00:09:58
Speaker
Oh, yeah, for sure. How would he interact with Storm?
00:10:04
Speaker
Uh, well, the same thing that happens to everything else, I think, i think would happen. I think that makes sense. I just like, like, it's like when when you ask about Toad, right?
00:10:16
Speaker
It is crazy how these characters get defined by the one appearance they made in a movie from 2004 and not like the 50 years of comic books or whatever. The only thing everyone knows Toad from is that, I think.
00:10:28
Speaker
And it's like, I feel like a move card would be sick, but also he should be like, if this location gets filled up. Yeah, he should be like somehow specifically bad in the store.
00:10:40
Speaker
In like a way that is. In like a way that calls back to exactly the one joke. um That's great. I like that idea. I'll think about that harder, and I'll probably talking about that in the future.
00:10:53
Speaker
we We design a lot of ah cards. yeah. oh
00:11:00
Speaker
Okay. um For mine, cheated a little bit. instead of i didn't really think of a favorite character or anything. I wanted to use the opportunity to sneak in mini-comics corner. I'll try and keep it short um because Cam didn't sign the contractual agreement I have with Ben and Lauren to be captive horror victims in my comics memory palace. I like comics. You can do it. Go ahead.
00:11:24
Speaker
Okay. Yay. All right. So if you remember from, okay, what I am, what I'm talking about, and it's cause I just finished it today. It's like a five issue um run and it's very recent. So it's a quick little read, but it's Dr. Strange.
00:11:41
Speaker
um If you remember from my Avengers Comics Corner, if you've been listening for a while, Doctor Strange recently gave up the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme to Doctor Doom in order to save the world during the blood hunt when ah the ancient vampire Varney took over Possessed Blade.
00:12:07
Speaker
Following? Okay, anyway. So, gave it up. And um so he's just been, you know, wandering around like another laid off jobless ah a magician.
00:12:19
Speaker
And um ah you know, the problem The problem with good guys, actually, because like it seems so stupid. I think mocked him at the time in my Avengers Comics Corner, like giving up, giving up your power to, you know, like to Dr. Doom. Do you really ever think you're going to give it back when you give up your power ah to someone else? And but like, I feel like ah That was unjust of me because I feel like it's essentially good guy trait, right?
00:12:55
Speaker
The willingness to give up power over other people something that makes someone a good guy. It's a vulnerable spot, but if they don't have that, if it's someone who chases power,
00:13:10
Speaker
um You know, how how good can they be? I think like in D.C. you have like the flip side of that with like Constantine. Right. They show how he is unwilling to give a power, how he keeps chasing it and how in order to do that, he has to sacrifice everyone around him. That's the cost of it.
00:13:26
Speaker
So anyway, i would like to apologize ah for past recents mocking Doctor Strange for relinquishing power to Doctor Doom. Because one of the things about Doctor Strange's character is always that he's a bit of an arrogant person.
00:13:42
Speaker
You know, which I like because we need characters to be different. You know, don't need every every character to be Captain America. So like, um you know, he's a little bit arrogant with his magic. But this is what, you know, this what is what reigns him and keeps him a good guy. He's willing to give it up, you know, when it when it comes to saving the world.
00:14:02
Speaker
Anyway, so right now he's wondering, like, you know, obviously Dr. Doom is running amok with power because, you know, the people want power the most are usually doing the worst things with it.
00:14:12
Speaker
um So, you know, Dr. Strange, and he's thinking, OK, well, if Midgard doesn't need a Sorcerer Supreme, how about Asgard?
00:14:25
Speaker
And um that's where, you know, we come in. This is written by Derek Landy. um It's Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard. I heard about this. I'm like, what?
00:14:37
Speaker
They sent him to space a while back. So like, and and I think he he traveled by, as all characters who travel through space, like we go through Asgard. um But like, sure, why not?
00:14:48
Speaker
But it's actually, was a really, I really enjoyed it. It was really fun. um Involves a murder mystery, which, you know, like a sucker for anything detective-y. And of course I figured out who did it.
00:15:00
Speaker
um i wish I meant I was a great detective, but it just means I've read a lot of mysteries. So you can really pick out the clues. So. um All right. So Strange goes to Thor.
00:15:14
Speaker
And if you're familiar with like Thor's cycle of being, he's currently in like a like a waning prince phase rather than like a waxing popper. You know, he's not Odinson. You know, right now he's like King of Asgard. But, you know, it's on the declining side.
00:15:32
Speaker
Right. Sif has taken over for Heimdall. So it's kind of like, you know, the millennials are in charge now. Right. Like, that's where we're at in Asgard. Yes. Where is this in the chronology? Because I read Immortal 4.
00:15:47
Speaker
Where are we in Immortal 4, like 1 to 25 right now with the stage of Asgard? This is just prior to Loki betraying Thor? If I'm trying not to spoil it, should I just say what happens? Okay, yeah, that's... That is like every issue.
00:16:09
Speaker
I was thinking of a specific type. Okay, this is, I mean, okay, spoilers. um This is after, this is before Loki kills Thor.
00:16:20
Speaker
to have some in the book Okay, so like pre-going to Udgard post- like dealing with ah like Hercules in the mouth. Okay, I'm very caught up with Thor and maybe I'm like way ahead of you to be honest.
00:16:37
Speaker
ah You might be. I've only read Immortal Thor. Like the most recent one came out like last month, I think.
00:16:48
Speaker
Okay. Okay.
00:16:50
Speaker
Um, this is, okay, so, well, this is, Thor is still king of Asgard. I don't know. And that's, like, it's kind of relevance to this story. He's not a major player, to be honest.
00:17:01
Speaker
I got totally zoomed out. I was like, need to know when this happens, because, like, the worst thing about reading comics for me is that exact conversation. Where it's like, when did this happen?
00:17:11
Speaker
Yeah, it's...
00:17:13
Speaker
It's a big struggle, right? Because when I explain to where we get and I can simplify it, but if I have to be like, oh, yeah, it's because like Blade, but it wasn't really Blade. He was being possessed by like Varney. And then like, that's why he was trying to take over. and then some Moon Knight had to go.
00:17:30
Speaker
And it's like... when the comics write with all this context in it, it's rewarding to people who, like, obsessively try and keep up in comics. The point is not great for their health. But, like... But it's, like, you know, because it's rewarding to know the history. But when a new reader comes in, and, like, DC has this problem, specifically...
00:17:53
Speaker
Jeff Johns, he always loves to reward like all this history comics. And like, it's just like it's like it's like because I remember seeing like I think it was a friend just wrote, oh, I got in on this.
00:18:09
Speaker
It was like a number one. It was supposed to be a big event. So I thought I would try getting into comics and they read it and like none of it. was rewarding or pay off for them or like made a lot of sense.
00:18:20
Speaker
But there are like great writers that do great self-contained stories. And the comics industry just doesn't know how to package that. My personal theory is they should try to move into like seasons, like finish it all at once and then release it like weekly or something. Right. You got to get the hype. You got to get people in to build like a monthly release. That's too slow for our time.
00:18:45
Speaker
I don't know. I don't want comics to go the way of like, CDs. You know what I mean? It's such a, like, ritual for me every, like like, going to get my bags and boards. But to be honest, if I moved and I what didn't have this, like, this, like, loyalty deep in my soul to my like my LCS, my local comic shop, I would probably...
00:19:07
Speaker
Like, just to, like, save money. And because I just have so many comics to read all the time, I'd probably just get one of the Marvel subscriptions digitally. And it's like, you know, I don't know how comics will survive the transition. i name i

Marvel Snap Card Concepts

00:19:22
Speaker
have been struck by how little, like... Because I read manga, too, right? And I read...
00:19:31
Speaker
Bendis Ultimate Spider-Man. Because when we're getting into comics, probably read Bendis Ultimate Spider-Man, right? We're all fans of that. Yeah, and it's like, it's really it's really, really good. But what struck me about it is like, everyone's like, wow, it's this, you know, it's eight years of work.
00:19:45
Speaker
And it's like 140 chapters. It's like, dude, that's two days of reading. Like, if this was... uh a manga or whatever i'd have 800 chapters they'd be able to like that yeah they'd be able to like dive into the character relationships that were really the highlight of that whole run for me was like ultimate gwen stacy was awesome there was this scene where she he shows up outside Peter's house and goes like, Hey, uh, do y'all, will you, will you let me in here? Or like, well, I have to like actually kill myself on your front lawn.
00:20:17
Speaker
Like that kind of stuff was really funny to me and really compelling. as character know And then, you know, it's just does, there's, there has to be a villain in every book and it has to like do this, the plot and there's no room for the the space to breathe.
00:20:34
Speaker
And like, for the record, I think her actual dialogue was like 30% more deranged than my paraphrase of it. But it was very accurate to like how a teenager would actually talk.
00:20:47
Speaker
Like it was weird. It was like, I like these characters. And all of that stuff, like the high school stuff was the highlight of that run for me. And we got so little of it compared to like, if this was ah manga, we would have 500 chapters of it. Maybe sick of it.
00:21:03
Speaker
and i do use play that And that's like a work that they really had a ton of time in. And it's just crazy how little of that there is and how short ultimately in terms of content a lot of these great comics are. Yeah. true.
00:21:17
Speaker
That's a good observation. is it Is it the color? That can't be the answer, right? might be. just because manga's black and white and western comics tend to be in full color i'm like is that the difference that can't be the only difference but maybe it maybe that's a big part of it i don't know is that the bottle right i derailed us it's time to talk about strange of asgard No, it's always fun to talk about Kellings, to be honest. Okay.
00:21:49
Speaker
All right. Returning then to Asgard. um Where are we at? So Doctor Strange is going to Thor um and looking for a job. and Okay.
00:22:02
Speaker
And um Thor is like, okay, okay. You see? You see? We do have an open, we do currently have an open Sorcery Supreme job.
00:22:14
Speaker
But aren't you the guy that kind of like wrecked the last gem, like gave that up? And Stranger still pulled the whole like like job interview thing where like my weakness is my strength. And he's like, I see. I know you would think.
00:22:31
Speaker
That was a weakness. But you see, I learned. I learned from my mistakes. You know, if people haven't made mistakes, how can they learn and have all the experience that I have, you know, and to safeguard things? And, you know, so, like, I just, think it'd be really props. And is like, yeah.
00:22:51
Speaker
ah sleep yeah I'm going have to think about this one. the meantime, you can, like, if you need somewhere to crash, don't know if I can give you a job, man, but I got a couch.
00:23:04
Speaker
And Strange is like, you know, no. If I'm going to be Swerve Supreme, I'm going to, like, find my own way. going to learn Asgard, you know.
00:23:16
Speaker
And Swerve's like, hell yeah, you know, admire that about you. all right, goodbye, out the door. I'm out, see you.
00:23:27
Speaker
Literally, like, Strange looks back and was like, I yeah i thought, okay, at least maybe you could have pointed me to an inn or something, but all right. And it's just like, that's where, okay, in case you want to read it, I thought about spoiling the whole first issue, but I've already gotten on at length. So, like, um he's just out wandering alone in the snow. he has to go Sorry, was someone saying something?
00:23:53
Speaker
and hate Oh, no, i was just laughing. Okay. Okay, just like practically magically barefoot because he's not like super attuned to like Asgard magics. And he has to go and like wander the streets of Asgard.
00:24:06
Speaker
And what's fun about this comic is it focuses on the little people of Asgard. You know, it's not always, it's not like we always like like the Battlestar Galactica episode about the little people.
00:24:18
Speaker
don' Sorry, maybe too reverential. But like, you know, sometimes that's not fun. But here it's kind of fun because you're getting the little people talk about what they think of Thor and Sith as like their gods and rulers. Like, who's your favorite god? And it's like, well, it was different last week.
00:24:33
Speaker
But so... ah know, Strange has to make it. does meet, like, he does meet some people who are, again I mean, he has kind of like a stranger coming in and trying to, like, rule and be like, hey, I just got here, but how about I lead everybody? um And they're just like, Asgard for Asgardians!
00:24:53
Speaker
But, um okay, here's where we'll get to my actual... character card. That was the question that I subverted. okay um Because he meets in a tavern, this character called hope And Holt lets him know, not like lot of Asgardians, he's not actually a fighter. He's a lover.
00:25:16
Speaker
He wants to write great tales, not the other Asgardians of ah you know war and battle, but of romance. And he thinks he wants to combine it with mirth.
00:25:28
Speaker
And he could tell really entertaining tales of this. Doctor Strange, of course, is just like, okay, so you I get it. Very fun. Um, but, uh, he's, he's a real fun character and he, uh, has, you know, he's, he's like, i mean, my family's all into, to weapons making, but, you know, I just want to continue to make a pittance as a content creator.
00:25:53
Speaker
So, um, I thought for his ability in the game, probably have to cost it somewhat high because this seems kind of like a fun, cool ability. don't know.
00:26:06
Speaker
probably be forecast, actually, for this spot. I didn't think about the cost. All right. His ability should

Storytelling & Serialized Narratives in Comics

00:26:11
Speaker
be that ah the
00:26:16
Speaker
two cards on your opponent's side, and i should have actually thought about how to word this, ah merge. And then their power is added to a weapon that you get in your hand.
00:26:28
Speaker
And that's like, you know, he writes romantic comedies and he's related to weapons makers, but he rejects that life. So, you know, you can have it. Anyway. So, you know. It works in the mechanical language of Black Knight, sort of, a little bit.
00:26:43
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. They could be friends, maybe. dig it. Because they didn't live very far apart. Very cool. Yeah.
00:26:55
Speaker
I'm indulging my mini comics pointer. We had to have one for our anniversary episode. ah ah Mine will be short and sweet because the answer is immediately Singularity. I'm sure I've talked about her on the podcast before.
00:27:08
Speaker
She's this darling little pocket universe... full of energy kind of like teen titans cartoon starfire um just very sweet but also very powerful because she's a she's a living pocket universe and so she can like teleport people and a shit like that so of course her ability is going to be something that you know lets you move cards from one location to another i don't know how you do that in a unique way that you know isn't already covered by cloak and hellion and and heimdall but some cool way to do that Yeah. um
00:27:41
Speaker
You know, maybe she like merges them in and then when you move her, she unmerges them or something. But I don't know how you make that. You might be too powerful if, you know, that repeats on reveals or whatever.
00:27:53
Speaker
Okay. She's darling. She's from A-Force. I think pretty much all the other A-Force characters are represented in Snap already, although there would be lots of killer variants like Thor Dazzler.
00:28:03
Speaker
um It would be really fun to get an A-Force season eventually. There's a whole like Thor core of ah various ah Lady Thors. Okay.
00:28:15
Speaker
I have a second. It's just Thor, Lauren. Go for it. get the follow-up. Yeah, I gotta follow up. I feel, cause like I don't read a lot Doctor Strange, right? And you mentioned something in there about, you know, i'm I'm familiar with the Blood Hunt mostly because I read Ryan North Fantastic Four and there was a lot of like Reed Richards bodyboard during the Blood Hunt episodes there.
00:28:37
Speaker
But i wanted to ask specifically like, is there like, cause like I know Strange and Doom were boys on Battleworld. I know they were boys like when, uh, before that, when they were both trying to solve the problem of the, the universe is collapsing in before secret wars.
00:29:01
Speaker
is there like this thing? Cause I, again, I'm not super familiar with either of them. I haven't like done a ton of reading in their spaces, but do they have like this thing where it's like only Kings understand each other? Where like, yeah, one's a good guy and one's a bad guy, but being realistically, they're like the only two people who can have a real conversation about things that are happening in the universe?
00:29:21
Speaker
Or is that just something I'm head-canoning out of a couple interactions? No, I mean, I feel like that makes sense because it's it's like a magic thing. It's like, we are both archetypal Marvel magicians, you know?
00:29:36
Speaker
So there's kind of... You know, that push and pull. And mean, I guess it's kind of like in an Illuminati way where it's like the arrogance of the characters.
00:29:51
Speaker
Right. Because it's like that's the thing about the Illuminati is like some of them are technically heroes and good guys, but they all have the arrogance to think that they should get to make decisions secretly on behalf of everyone else because they believe they're smarter.
00:30:05
Speaker
And like I said, Doctor Strange, like, is an arrogant. And ultimately, he's a good guy. And he'll choose to do the thing. And he would always choose to sacrifice himself um for the greater good.
00:30:15
Speaker
But he does have that tinge of arrogance. And I think that's like kind of what keeps pulling them together. Yeah, because I keep like, they like I know one's good guy and one's a bad guy. I get it.
00:30:26
Speaker
But like, they're both in the same club. You know what I mean? Like, like i it makes me feel a certain type of way. Edit this out if it's too political. But it's like, i feel like you can see the direction I'm going with that one.
00:30:40
Speaker
Where it's just like, there's yeah certainly some people who are on opposite sides, but fundamentally have more in common with each other than they do with me. Yep. I mean, you were talking about Al Ewing earlier, and he invented the Infant, who is one of my favorite, like, one-time, only-ever-seen characters in a comic.
00:31:00
Speaker
But it was so fun. I really loved his story. But, like, the story of that was the whole idea. And once again, it is like an arrogant supposition to think you can even do it.
00:31:11
Speaker
But they just, can we solve the problems without just reactions? just reacting to them. Can we proactively um make things better? This is where Galactus became the life bringer, you know, because they're like, oh, that we found out he's just not evolved to his full form.
00:31:27
Speaker
And it's that exploration of like, how do we use our powers in nonviolent ways, if possible, to solve these problems, hopefully before they start, which, of of course, in the civil wars becomes a whole different.
00:31:43
Speaker
question but yeah I read that wrong like I read that ah yeah so like that's introduction to Blue Marvel and America Chavez really yeah yes It actually, weirdly, and again, this might be like, you know, the tweet where it's like, guy who has only seen Boss Baby watching his second movie, this really reminds me of Boss Baby. It actually did remind me a lot of Ryan North's Fantastic Four in the sense that the premise of the setting is this group of people can just do anything.
00:32:14
Speaker
Like whatever mechanism required to allow them to solve any problem is possible. Right. And that is like a fundamental premise, both of like that ultimate's run to me is what it felt like. And then also the current fantastic form on how.
00:32:30
Speaker
I'm so jealous. All my comics friends, because when miss out on the beginning of a comics, I just have such a big stack. I'm just like, I'll catch up on any graphics or something some other time later. And all my comics friends have been reading Norris Fantastic Four and like raving about it forever. and like, yeah, sounds pretty cool.
00:32:48
Speaker
Read it sometime. But like a lot of people will be jazzed. You mentioned it. and It's very, I don't know, like, I think you could reasonably come away from, like if you wanted me to critique it, what I would say is it's a little sugary, right?
00:33:01
Speaker
But, like, I think a lot of people want sugar right now. The world ain't, right? And so, like, in much the same way that there's this new hopeful Superman movie, you get the Fantastic Four that's in the same thing.
00:33:14
Speaker
That sounds so like a fun read. does. I could definitely use, I don't know, something something uplifting, something feel-good, you know? Okay, let's go to our second question. This one, I think, less heavy.
00:33:29
Speaker
ah From Bishop. The best card you were the most wrong about. We'll do it in the same order. okay, great. Blob? I was like, I don't understand how this guy's going to be all that good. He's six big. Turns out he's 675 power. My bad. I can't count. That's on me.
00:33:48
Speaker
ah Dead wrong. Always going to be wrong. I've been wrong about every big six drop forever. I always think they're going to worse than they actually are. I have plenty of things to take a victory lap on, but my defeat laps are big six drops.
00:34:01
Speaker
100% of the time, I'm just wrong about them. it's ah Ben and I are are are good at underestimating the big cards also. Oh, yeah. 100 spirits. Yep. Yep. um Ben?
00:34:12
Speaker
Or was it Rhi? can't remember. I think it was me. a Red Hulk in that same vein. I was like, I spend all my energy all the time. I've got nothing to worry about. i got a low curve. I generate a few extra cards. I'm never leaving mana on the table. No, no, no, no, no.
00:34:28
Speaker
ah Yeah, that guy gets pretty big. Yeah. Especially when he first came out and stuff. ah Super wrong about that. Also, um and a more recent example, Diamondback. I was like, does Affliction really like need this force multiplier in a single lane?
00:34:42
Speaker
Turns out, yeah, she's pretty good, huh? So, yeah. It allows me to just win lane with just...
00:34:53
Speaker
sorry are we I think what we missed is I remember I just remember talking to Diamondback where like is she just over winning the lane? But what she actually allows a lot of people to do is just like win a lane with just hazmat then in Diamondback. You know what I mean? Like out in the field. Yeah, she's a cheap combo piece. Your Ajax and another. Anyway.
00:35:15
Speaker
Yeah. Oh, okay. Me? Okay. This one, I mean, don't know if was most fun, but immediately leaped to, and this was because I missed out. Not only is he just a great card, but I missed out.
00:35:26
Speaker
Because, you know, I buy cards based on the amount of fun I think I'll have with them. And I did not realize, like, this is one of my most fun cards ever. Legion. skipped Legion when you bought them with tokens.
00:35:38
Speaker
And was even only, was he... Was he a cheaper one? He was a Series was a Series 4,000. I skipped them for like a whole month. Right? And Legion scams are the most fun ever.
00:35:50
Speaker
Every time I've been playing like this ladder deck, this little, you know, little, little Moonstone number. I call it Moonstoned. No reason. But like, um... It's got Legion in it because Legion can still just be surprise and ah in any other, you know, kind of little thing.
00:36:08
Speaker
And it just wins you games. And it's just so fun. It's so fun to get people on, like, the one where you can't play turn six or where everything turns into a rickety bridge or whatever you're going to do with it that you plan. Or, like, the, um you know, whoever wins here loses.
00:36:27
Speaker
Forgetting all the things. I like the name. yeah there we go bar with no name um shout out i know adam star i appreciate and mention adam star loves a good legion scam every time i like get a good one and i forget to screenshot i'm like but i wish i could have shared this the glory the fun it is so it is still it's still good and it's still fun oh okay and i missed i missed how much i would enjoy it still legion is one of like two or three cards that like i was laughing out loud because of how much fun i was having the day that they dropped just doing silly shit with them you know so good stacking up left because there's a nexus and you're like this is about to be my game um the best card i was most wrong about is hope summers
00:37:13
Speaker
ah because the previous month I was wrong about Black Swan. I was like, all this free energy, that's going to be great. And then and then i was like, oh, but it wasn't worth all the work you had to do for it. And and so then I assumed Hope was going to be the same way. like you have to do all this work for that energy? like What are you going to do? Play two cards on her for two extra energy? It turns out that's yeah The way that the energy curve works and all that. And not having to be about one costs.
00:37:38
Speaker
Of course, you could play movers and stuff like that on her. Play her with other cards that benefit from you know like Angela and stuff. ah yeah I just totally whiffed on Hope Summers. I thought she was going to stink and she ended up being one of the best cards that season.
00:37:50
Speaker
Okay.

Marvel Snap-themed Zabu Game

00:37:54
Speaker
We are going to go on to Zabu, which is just taboo, but Marvel Snap-themed because, you know, Zabu.
00:38:02
Speaker
um This was originally Rhi's game, but today Ben and I have prepared the cards. So the teams are going to be... KM will be on my team and Rhi will be on Ben's team. We're making it competitive for the first time. Normally we play this cooperatively. No, please don't do that. I mean, you can. But if that's because of me, don don't do it because of me.
00:38:20
Speaker
I mean, we have four players today instead of three, so that's part of it. But also, like... It seems like we need to take, you know, i know you're a little spightier than the rest of us. um
00:38:32
Speaker
ah So it's every card is going to have, you know, the word we're trying to guess. It might have an alias on it. So Spider-Man might have in parentheses Peter Parker.
00:38:45
Speaker
Whether you say Spider-Man or Peter Parker, you get you get the card. um And then it'll also have five words or phrases on it that you can't say. So, you know, you you have to get your teammate to say Spider-Man without saying Web or Senses or Daily Bugle or J. Jonah Jameson, whatever, you know.
00:39:04
Speaker
That's the game. We're going to play, i don't know, so that each of us get three or four rounds each. We'll see how we're doing on time. You get one point for everyone you get correctly. You get negative one point for ones that you pass or ones that you fuck up because you said one of the taboo words.
00:39:21
Speaker
um And then the one card that you that you time out on is just zero. It doesn't hurt you. It doesn't help you. Okay? Okay. um Let me get my windows arranged.
00:39:36
Speaker
I just you to make sure track of the time when I am sending the questions and stuff, I feel like it's one more plate than I'll be able to spin. um How about...
00:39:49
Speaker
yeah You want... ah Was that a question for Rita to do the timer? Oh, can do the timer. Yeah. ah can you can do that. Okay. I feel comfortable just starting a timer on my phone and also giving the sending the clues.
00:40:03
Speaker
Well, that's because you're an organized and capable person, Lauren. Uh-huh. This is my first time keeping score. Everybody described me that way. But I refuse to keep score, so this is going to challenge my my functions.
00:40:21
Speaker
I just feel like as long as we're doing Marvel Snap puns, had one in the chat on the app we're using here that I really wanted to highlight in in in actual, oh my God.
00:40:33
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Sorry, my cat just said that to murder me. Yeah. we It was when Doctor Strange was asking Thor for a job. it was like, I love the idea that Thor checks Asgard LinkedIn.
00:40:44
Speaker
And then I realized that Asgard LinkedIn would absolutely be called Bifrost. That's what Asgard LinkedIn is. And I feel like that... There's no doubt. I had to make sure that actually made it into the episode because if it just sat in the chat, I would have been really mad at myself for not getting...
00:40:59
Speaker
I gotta go update my Bifrost profile, right? like That could also be Asgard Plenty of Fish, right? like it could be There are multiple ways the joke could play. Oh, for sure. Thank you for putting that out in the world. well We're all about making sure that people heard the clever thing we said. ah you're You're on the right podcast.
00:41:19
Speaker
Asgard Tinder is called Hela. Is that where their hell is? That's where the fire jets are. that's the fire jets.
00:41:35
Speaker
that where their hell is that's what the fire yeah that's the fire Where Sif is like, where like Doctor Strange is trying to run from Sif. But she's like, I told you she's in Heimdall's role. So she's got like all the seer magic. And the way they show her finding him is just this like, I don't know, like 80s makeup eyes drawing in the sky. Like looking down on him. It's just like Asgard billboards for like...
00:42:06
Speaker
Sif Mary Kay or something. But anyway, it's actually kind of cool. I like it. bush I wish I had her eyes. Okay. um Okay. Because we've played before, should we just arrange this that KM goes last?
00:42:21
Speaker
I googled the most taboo before this episode. Good job. Which one is... Yeah, so like no spelling, no rhyming, like, you know, stay in the spirit of the game.
00:42:35
Speaker
It'll be fine. um
00:42:39
Speaker
Rhi and Ben, which one of you wants to give clues first? I'll try to give clues first. Okay.
00:42:53
Speaker
just Ben will send you clues in DM in Discord. But right now, rehe is going to guess while Ben gives clues.
00:43:07
Speaker
okay I've started never played. Wait, my pasting is not working well. You say you've never played? Oh, yeah, you haven't played because you ah you've ran the game every time. you know?
00:43:19
Speaker
can i Okay, sorry. Do you know the game of Dixit? This reminds me of this and how I broke it. Okay, Dixit is like a ah some a game It's impossible to describe. But it uses picture. Oh, I know. It's a storytelling game. Dreamlike Images.
00:43:34
Speaker
The idea is you're trying to give a clue to get a bunch of players to guess and image, but you get the most points if you can only get like the like fewest number of people to guess it.
00:43:48
Speaker
So like you want to give a clue, but you want to make it like small enough that not everyone will get it. And ah me and my friend f foundned a way to break break it by just making all of our picture ah clues references to ween lyrics.
00:44:04
Speaker
A band in which we were both the fans of and no one else. And it just approached me. Okay, anyway, let's find a way, Ben. i will I will say my spike brain had one strategy coming into this, which was if they're in the MCU, I just named the actor because I bet you forgot to put that on the forbidden list.
00:44:25
Speaker
We super didn't. Don't worry. There's a lot of it. Okay. The best lead plans. Okay.
00:44:38
Speaker
I'm ready. I'm just going to shoot it up to a one minute, 10 second. that That'll ah account for any copying and pasting slowness and all that.
00:44:50
Speaker
Okay, Ben, go for it. Okay, this one has appeared in the MCU. Noseless, ah works for a bad guy, ah has telekinetic powers,
00:45:02
Speaker
um is friends with Sauron. Oh,
00:45:10
Speaker
let's see. So it is Magneto? No, ah this one has been it was in Infinity War and Endgame.
00:45:21
Speaker
Saruman, I guess you said. and You know, it's a contemporary of Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight. Oh, I think I'm not. OK, sorry. The king in black hangs out here, I think.
00:45:40
Speaker
The King in Black is... um You know, like Venom and Carnage, they all come from this spot, I believe. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I've always run Zebu. It's more hard when I'm put on this spot. Okay. um i I know his name Why can't I think of it?
00:45:59
Speaker
Sebastian Shaw. Okay, right? Hey, that's
00:46:05
Speaker
I've been great at this, to be honest. Yeah, I realized there were some, maybe some important roles I didn't cover. so we did, ah that was Clintar, by the way, um that you didn't get.
00:46:18
Speaker
So the words are, they're either going to be cards in Marvel Snap, locations, which are much harder, or just general concepts like... Nexus events, Ben Brode, collector's reserve, whatever.
00:46:30
Speaker
yeah And then for the cards and locations, you can't describe their mechanics because it would be way too easy if we did that. Yeah, you can't say that they're like friends with a certain character. Like if they like go together mechanically, like that's about as close as... i guess my question is, Ebony Maw doesn't have a nose...
00:46:49
Speaker
I don't think so, does he? I've never thought about it before, does it, like, hold on, no, no. Robert Downey Jr. calls him Squidward, which I feel like implies that he has a nose.
00:47:03
Speaker
I'm pretty sure it's like a Voldemortian nose. Oh. Like, whatever's going on here, that is, yes. Fascinating, I you're right.
00:47:16
Speaker
has done for me with reading comics now is I actually noticed when characters like Ebony Mond stuff used to come in, they're usually little background characters and they're in and they're gone so quickly and they don't usually make a big impact. I don't remember like who they are.
00:47:30
Speaker
now I'm like, oh, oh, the thinker. He was just in a comic. Oh my God. Yes. That's what Marvel Snap has done for me. is like I'll see a guy and I'll be like, of the the the meme of Leonardo DiCaprio pointing at the TV.
00:47:46
Speaker
It's that guy. Exactly. I know that
00:47:54
Speaker
yeah smell it's a lot oh yeah Just to warn you all, I prepared 60 cards. Two-thirds of them, roughly, are characters. ah One-fifth of them are locations, and 10% of them are ah marble snap concept word game modes. By the way, like feel free to take whatever time you want on this. This seems fun.
00:48:19
Speaker
I'm definitely happy to do it. You got my competitive juices flowing, so don't feel like you got a rush out of my account. If I get something like collector's reserve, I'm closing this podcast with me.
00:48:30
Speaker
Okay, I'm just letting you know that. If I describe collector's reserve, I don't to know which one that is. I don't know if that's the one with the good stuff in it or the one on the track normally. i don't You should have fucking convinced me either way, and I'm not going to describe it.
00:48:47
Speaker
You can just pass. don't think I'm going to do anything like that to you. who I have a few that are maybe slightly dickish. Rian, Ben, that's one point for you. No negatives. I'm sorry. Alright, I'll warm up to it. I'm pretty sure. We're warm up to it. Taboo.
00:49:02
Speaker
Back in the day. You're going to be giving clues, right, Lauren? and Unless Cam wants to give clues first. don't care. Okay, I'm happy to go first. My cat's about to assault me.
00:49:14
Speaker
Okay. There we go All right. And someone else in the key track of the time Tell me when we start I actually i sp straight up don't tell anyone my cat's name Because my girlfriend is online and she tells people Our pet's name And that could like connect Yes yes we're goingnna get pause by it Your nameless cat is darling Yes I agree Well she's munching on a Rapper right now so That's It's something to do something we do
00:49:47
Speaker
Rhi, are you ready with the time? Oh, yes. Okay, should I say go? Whenever it go. Okay, should we a bit about whether I do one, two, three, go, or just one, two, three?
00:50:02
Speaker
feel like you just did that bit. Alright, let's go. One, two, three, go. Rhi, I did a minute ten, by the way. Alright, it's going. Okay. Okay.
00:50:16
Speaker
All right. um This, wow. It's a location. um I believe it's related to Soulstone stuff in the MCU.
00:50:30
Speaker
um You know, where like a character dies? Yes, it's Vormir. It's a planet. You got it. Good.
00:50:39
Speaker
Okay, um this is Asgard um metal plating that shoots beams that do lots of damage.
00:50:51
Speaker
It's a destroyer? Uh-huh.
00:50:57
Speaker
Okay, this is like a fairy with pink hair. Uh-huh.
00:51:06
Speaker
Um...
00:51:10
Speaker
it's It's the red guy in the latest Captain America movie. Oh, God. Red Hulk? But before... one just said that.
00:51:25
Speaker
Come on! I had three actors whose names she couldn't say. Sam Elliott, William Brown, and Ford. yeah That was in the in the the one Hulk movie that we forget.
00:51:39
Speaker
That was three points.
00:51:44
Speaker
Well done. That was good stuff. I'm going to make up for Mason's pass. I'm receiving clues, so I'm going to look at Reese's face for this.
00:51:58
Speaker
I will do clues. Okay, I'm going start my timer and hit enter at the same time. Here we go.
00:52:05
Speaker
Oh, I just earlier said this incorrectly
00:52:12
Speaker
as a character. um Because ah oh who's who's the hot dude that plays him alongside and first class? There lot of hot dudes.
00:52:27
Speaker
Sorry. This person is an X-Men first class. Are we talking about Magneto? Are we talking about... Yes! Okay. There we go. Oh, we were just talking about... This is the comic I talked about. The place with the special... Not a door.
00:52:46
Speaker
ah No, where he came from. Where the character came from. came from Where he came from on Earth. Where he lives. His home in New York. Oh, the Sanctum Sanctorum? Yes! You got it.
00:53:01
Speaker
Okay. Steals with hands. Mutant? Yes.
00:53:10
Speaker
Okay. ah Lots of movies. This person. Good dude. right was Do I get to say who it was? Okay. Pedro. It was just Pedro.
00:53:21
Speaker
Okay. are was just pedro I counted that as a concept because that's what we call that card. By the way, this is an important warning.
00:53:32
Speaker
There may be overlapping things in these decks because they were designed independently. So just because like something was somebody's answer the other team, it could also be yours.
00:53:44
Speaker
So that is, yeah. It's never come up before because there's only been one one source in the past. There is no way for Ben and I to know what the other one did. Okay. it's It's time to lock in Okay. yep Yep. You're giving clues.
00:53:59
Speaker
Yep. I'm waiting for a DM on Discord. Here it comes. Rhi, you're doing a minute ten timer? oh shit. Okay. Should I? Okay. One, two, three, go.
00:54:11
Speaker
I don't have a DM yet. i don't even know what my clues are. I'm pausing it. Alright, Okay. What am i not allowed to say?
00:54:22
Speaker
ah Underground. Subterranean. Mole Man. Yes.
00:54:34
Speaker
Oh.
00:54:37
Speaker
Netflix show woman... Jessica Jones. Yes.
00:54:47
Speaker
ah Where is Thanos from? ah Titan. Yes. Oh, wow. Okay.
00:55:03
Speaker
Sam Wilson in reverse.
00:55:08
Speaker
a Steve Rogers? Captain America? us Agent? Yes. You got it. Okay.
00:55:20
Speaker
ah Where is the... ah The base of... Okay. That was a good one. You're too good. need to call it.
00:55:34
Speaker
Oh my gosh. is like I got the list and I was like, all right, what is the easiest way I can say what these are without breaking the rules? I don't know. That's the point of the game.
00:55:47
Speaker
I guess that's the point of the game, but it didn't feel like I was playing fair when I did Netflix Woman. That just doesn't seem like it should worked. I could have said Sheeple.
00:56:04
Speaker
because The because they did three dudes and one woman. Yeah, that a very good hit. um How many points was that? That was, let's see, Mole Man, Jessica Jones, Titan, and US Agent. Four points.
00:56:18
Speaker
Let's go. That seems like just about the best. I got there. I was going for like, you know, it's the bad protege, right? It's the bad protege.
00:56:32
Speaker
Oh my gosh, you guys are crushing it. I know. me I failed this.
00:56:40
Speaker
Go. Oh, jeez. You can buy these. I don't know why you would. They're awfully expensive and it's just a cosmetic thing.
00:56:51
Speaker
You're on the right track. It's a very special kind of thing. Yep. Uh... yeah a This guy a... I'm going to pass on this one.
00:57:07
Speaker
Oh, jeez. You know how sometimes people are playing things that don't make sense together and you know that they must be... They're doing something other than trying to win. booster farming?
00:57:18
Speaker
Mm-hmm. ah we We all love this this gal. ah She's from the series about the young people with the bad parents. and And she's the best one. oh Runaways. Nico Minoru. You know, this guy, he rose in the second Fantastic Four film.
00:57:42
Speaker
ah He's quite reflective. ah He's got a board.
00:57:48
Speaker
Okay, no, don't get distracted. This sabotage. You distracted me. What? There's a girl with a dinosaur.
00:57:59
Speaker
Miko is not the best runaway. I'm sorry. Gertrude, no. Okay, Gertrude and Rollblazer are pretty cool. No, Gertrude pretty good. You're right all right. Okay, I was like, who's better? Okay, fine.
00:58:13
Speaker
that's Okay, you got three minus one from the skip, so you got two. What did you say, the way? Annihilus. It was a very hard one.
00:58:25
Speaker
the core. I was like, i don't I don't know enough about the lore of Annihilus. I can't say Negative Zone. That's like the thing I know about him. Say stuff about the game, though. Did you say weird, freaky Bugman?
00:58:37
Speaker
I blocked Bug and Insectoid. Oh, wow. Marvel Cell. Would that play? Because that's a cinema for weird freaky mode. Yeah, you could do that. But it does make sense now that you said it. Who am I sending clues to now?
00:58:53
Speaker
it me? Back to Lauren. Lauren, do bed so that we can... What was the last thing sent out? Okay. i was kind Okay. Here you go, Lauren. Here it comes.
00:59:06
Speaker
Copy. And...
00:59:11
Speaker
Rhea, you ready with the time? Rhea did get erased, to be honest. She died. Wow. okay sad we all know, in Marvel canon, death always sticks.
00:59:23
Speaker
It's permanent. That's so sad for Old Lace. Well, Old Lace, I think, then was with Chase for a while.
00:59:36
Speaker
That's right. That's fine. and I love her always. is pretty good oh the rainbow roll just uh she just got a new run so she had done a run brought in um doom bot like uh who is the sentient like bot of doom yeah he's like disconnected from yeah He's such a good character. He's so fun.
01:00:00
Speaker
And like this was a really fun run. And then it ended and everyone was Everyone being me, I am everyone. and then um but And it was out for, I don't know, a few years. I don't know how much the passage to time is. and then ah But now she's getting She's getting to write it again. Sorry. So if you're excited about Runaways, there's a new run coming. I'm doing time. Ready? Go! Uh...
01:00:21
Speaker
um
01:00:23
Speaker
ah
01:00:26
Speaker
i underwater place to live Atlantis uh-huh
01:00:38
Speaker
shoot oh my gosh could you please pause the timer he's bringing his game against us dude lack in clues actually I sent the next clear you can resume okay uh so like okay
01:00:50
Speaker
you know ah so like This is um the tier of b Split that's purple. um It's not 3D.
01:01:01
Speaker
it not three d It's not Frame Break.
01:01:06
Speaker
Oh, it's, um... This is the one that I use on all my splits and I don't know the word you're looking for? It's suddenly mobile, you know, like it's... Yeah, I don't know the word.
01:01:17
Speaker
I don't know the word. I use it on all my splits. It's like 3D, frame break, 3D, uh... What's the... It's the animated... It's the pop out of the... You said it's animated.
01:01:31
Speaker
It's animated. Animated. Animated. I thought the wasn't there, but all right. Only because it's the best. That's like martial arts powers on Netflix.
01:01:45
Speaker
Oh, Iron Fist. All right, time. I let it go a couple seconds long, so I know that I'm gracious. That was brutal, but we got three. Pretty good.
01:01:58
Speaker
I have never had the sound on. So you're talking about that stuff. That's literally a man. That's like three years old information for me. if Also, will never pass.
01:02:12
Speaker
My spiking house says that passing is purely bad and I would rather just keep naming words randomly until that because that's not minus one at least. I'm not costing us any points.
01:02:24
Speaker
For me, it's my arrogance. I believe that I will be able to do it. You have to pass really fast to make it worthwhile. Yes. Wait, is it me? Am I giving clues?
01:02:37
Speaker
It'll be you, yeah. Oh, I'm the timer for you also. mean, if you want me to time myself, I would totally be honest in principle. All right.
01:02:49
Speaker
The dad of Gamora's love interest. oh Oh, Ego. Yeah.
01:02:59
Speaker
Oh, where Wasp and her dad? Another location. Miniaturized Lab. Yes.
01:03:11
Speaker
Okay. Not Ebony Maw, but another that team. The one. Yes. Okay.
01:03:21
Speaker
Okay. The handsome dude we talked about earlier, this does something similar to that. But the location. Ms. Marvel. The location that does that is... ah Oh, the one that makes me a Jason location. Shit, man, I can't remember. nice um it It's a It's asteroid. It Yes.
01:03:51
Speaker
um Okay. Oh, oh ah she hangs out with Nico in the game that I love. Okay, fuck. I had to block Midnight Suns because I knew you would use it. knew it! I'm like, oh, Lord. Was this magic? It's you right now.
01:04:08
Speaker
Yes, it was magic. You knew. All right. and Okay. That was good. That was four. How long did I its Four? Four.
01:04:20
Speaker
I appreciate, by the way, don't know people know this, but when I got Titan, a little look behind the scenes here, three of the words we weren't allowed to use were related to attack on Titan. That was
01:04:35
Speaker
amazing. I love that. I'm glad you're enjoying the the cards. I worked pretty hard on them. Unfortunately, I don't have too many left.
01:04:47
Speaker
ah oh what was that I wasn't that cute. I wasn't as cute as ah blocking three attack on Titan wards.
01:04:57
Speaker
All right. Am I giving... Are you really almost out? I've only used 16. Well, you guys have been doing very well. I don't think we've been doing that well. Maybe I'm failing at keeping score.
01:05:08
Speaker
know but like by old it no like by no i was I was super wrong. I have so many more. I i was just i was looking wrong. Okay. No worries. No worries on that front. We can go all day. All right.
01:05:21
Speaker
Um, I have it as 10 to 10. I might have missed one. Wait, what? The split? have an extra run, right? It's 10 to 10, but with me in the bank.
01:05:31
Speaker
Oh, yeah. We're behind. Because I went last, right? could totally... could just, like, pass... Like, I feel like what we could do is I could pass every single one right now, and then that would be kind of a funny way to to end this.
01:05:44
Speaker
I think that would be objectively hilarious as, like, a strategy to your mouth. If you appreciate me, Kamikaze can get. You should get the win that you deserve. That's what I think. You're you're guessing it up. ah We could do another round.
01:05:57
Speaker
Oh, yeah. I've got so many more cards. Let's keep going. who's Who am I sending them to? i'm so it's It's KM again, right? I'm the giver of clues.
01:06:12
Speaker
I planned on doing either three or four. One of the words that we weren't allowed to say for John Walker was asshole.
01:06:28
Speaker
probably Thunderbolts right it was Asshole, Captain America, Thunderbolts Super Soldier Serum and Wyatt Russell but none of that wouldn't have gotten it from Wyatt Russell no chance I'll put all the actors on there to be safe I might have gotten it from Asshole you ready with the time?
01:06:48
Speaker
yes I'm ready shall we go? alright go
01:06:55
Speaker
Oh shit. Sorry. Just kidding. False start. Can we start that one more time? I'm so sorry. You gotta be quick on these copies and pastes. Ready? I accidentally did it twice.
01:07:07
Speaker
Okay, wait. I'm pausing again. See, it's not so easy. it's not. You're right. just have this location. It was the location they just said. The wasp clue.
01:07:18
Speaker
Oh, miniaturized lab. Yes.
01:07:23
Speaker
I don't even know what this is. am barely in one anymore. Annoyance. Yes. ah The greatest movie ever made. So good they brought it back.
01:07:40
Speaker
Avengers? ah like I don't know this reference.
01:07:47
Speaker
I didn't know they brought it back. Goddess, but Am I allowed to say energy costs? No. That's a fail. I got best before he said energy.
01:07:58
Speaker
Come on.
01:08:02
Speaker
but a one am i allowed to say energy costs are yes no didn't mess that so doesn't count fail it's nice but before he said energy come on All right, fair.
01:08:18
Speaker
of This is a really good card right now. Synergy with Invisible Woman. ah Prodigy.
01:08:29
Speaker
No, a payoff. Havoc. Havoc. Havoc. Also, I didn't set it until you got the first answer, so you didn't have extra time to make up for yeah i was, yeah. What were what was the points on that?
01:08:45
Speaker
Either 2 or 3 depending on if I lost a point for saying the energy thing. 1, We 2, lost 3, 4. a point when we passed. You said the energy after Lauren already guessed it. Oh, yeah. Plus you did. I don't think you said it was 1, did you?
01:08:58
Speaker
I started 2 before I said I was like i was trying to say Goddess but a 1 drop and then I realized halfway through saying that I was like... i so I think you're safe. I got it off of Goddess. That was 4. That was Maturedress Lab, Alliance, Morbius, and Bast.
01:09:15
Speaker
That's part of ah not talking about the mechanics is don't use the stat line. Okay. But i I should have specified that. At least how oblique could I have gotten? Could I have been like goddess but tiny stats?
01:09:28
Speaker
Or i just can't say the literal stats. Like no reference the gameplay. No, you did. I would say no reference to like the closest we get to referencing the gameplay is like saying which characters they're friends with in the game, so to speak. Sure. Yeah, this is this is like this is where you get into like what it's what it's like to be me.
01:09:45
Speaker
Like you've always got to find the exact line that you can walk up to. I think it's Ben. Okay.
01:09:51
Speaker
i think it then okay Oh, okay. We're going to... This should be more obvious to me, but like every round... You're going to be giving clues.
01:10:03
Speaker
I am giving clues. Okay. but can We can do for this. We're the underdogs. One more full round or two more full rounds? but i I say two if we're all up for it. I'm down if everyone else is. Okay, if you've got the time, let's do two. Okay, we can keep it moving. Let's go. Run this out of cards.
01:10:21
Speaker
I still have like 40. Here you go, Ben. Alright, this is where Chadwick is king.
01:10:31
Speaker
shit, um, sorry, Wakanda. I forgot, I got, like... Alright, so sometimes they adjust things and it's a whole thing, but then other times it's a little tiny thing. Balance updates.
01:10:45
Speaker
Uh, think Peter Dinklage hangs out here. Oh, the Red Star? don't know. What is it called? The Forge? The weapons get made here.
01:10:58
Speaker
Forge? What are the names of the Forges? I just want to talk about the mechanical identity of this location, but I don't think we're going to get it. um I'm going to say Skip. Okay. you know yeah he's he's He's always this emotion.
01:11:17
Speaker
That's his secret, Cap. Oh, Hulk? You know, it's the the the app. That's what the the LinkedIn would be called.
01:11:29
Speaker
Oh, the Bifrost?
01:11:33
Speaker
Our co-host does. Okay. Dang it, that was a fun one, too. So I had to skip Nidaleer because that just wasn't going to happen, clearly. hey what did you It took me forever to realize it was Nidaleer, but yeah.
01:11:47
Speaker
ah Sorry, that was a dick one to pick. That's still positive three. Okie doke. Which I only know because I hear it in Chris Hemsworth's voice when he's talking about it. It's like this weird accent that he does when he's being with Thor.
01:12:06
Speaker
It's like in that terrible impression of probably horse accent. He does his little he does this little thing and I'm like, i am
01:12:16
Speaker
The only time reason I know that one is from the, like, that's what death means gag in Infinity War. All right, Lauren, you're going to be receiving these these cards from me, right? Yep, I'm ready. Rhea, are you ready with the time?
01:12:31
Speaker
oh yes. and And go!
01:12:38
Speaker
Um... This a rival's support that like tag teams with another character. um It's like two characters two characters that play as one. They're super close. great They have opposite powers.
01:12:53
Speaker
um One of them has shadow powers and the other one has. oh hook that Yes. Sorry, i went the rivals through first. um This is an event that you only play three turns.
01:13:10
Speaker
And then it's the special the special version of that. Overdrive. Yes. um Superior. Spider-Man. Doc Ock. Who is that? Yeah. Yep. um
01:13:30
Speaker
Thunderbolts. ah Primary character in Thunderbolts. White Widow. um He needs a hug. Oh, Sentry. Mm-hmm.
01:13:44
Speaker
i Played by a wrestler in the MCU. Is that Bonesaw? Damn. It could have been Bonesaw or Drinks. Well, Bonesaw doesn't have a card in Marvel's Snap yet.
01:13:59
Speaker
he is ready. Bonesaw is ready. Yes, yes, yes. missed the show.
01:14:06
Speaker
Okay, that's still four. Solid. days We're going to get five. We're going to get five. I'm thinking about it. We always like time out on the four. That's close. I'm sure you will.
01:14:18
Speaker
Okay, am I guessing? You're guessing I'm giving clues. really
01:14:29
Speaker
I sent one, but you might not have noticed, so I'll restart your turn. Okay. She is the power of thunder. She's a mutant.
01:14:42
Speaker
Oh, storm sorry. No, I'm looking at the long wrong word. Do you want to skip that card and start over? Okay. Are we sure? I feel like we lost that one.
01:14:54
Speaker
That was my fault. Straight into the camera for this one. Like, um nice sleep pieces yeah Okay, wait, sorry. I'm going to give you a new card and just... Well, because there was like an underline and it was like, you know, in my brain it made sense.
01:15:18
Speaker
Yeah, do the word that's bold and underlined. Ready? Go.
01:15:23
Speaker
Okay. ah The person... who has the most power at locations, gets this at the beginning of the turn.
01:15:41
Speaker
So many words I can't say. Energy? What is it called? Priority. Yes. Okay. ah You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Closing time.
01:15:54
Speaker
At... Luke's bar. Location. Yes. Thank you. Okay. There are two of them. Friends with Patriot and Brood.
01:16:09
Speaker
i mr Sinister. Yes. All right. ah Recently got balanced into rocks now. Those rock things. That's mechanics.
01:16:21
Speaker
That is mechanics. I thought we were allowed to talk about mechanics. You know what? That is true. That is very true. Oh, wow. We are okay not great at our game, are we?
01:16:34
Speaker
It is jail. Oh, sorry, time. I didn't know if two of them might have been a lore reference. Yeah, I was like, maybe more than two, Mr. Sinisters.
01:16:45
Speaker
One of the acerons involves there being four different Mr. Sinisters, all of which who disperse themselves through time to try to assimilate themselves into a larger, like, god-level
01:16:59
Speaker
If we're gonna do the glasses pushing D&D nerds rule things here. That was bad answer. It's fine. I don't care. I'm arguing for a scene.
01:17:15
Speaker
I'm now jumping in because I would also like to argue for the sake of it. Okay. We can be mildly referencing mechanics all along, know? got my eyes lasered, so, like, I have laser eyes now. and yeah But, like...
01:17:31
Speaker
Mildly referencing them is different. I can only speak to myself. I think it's the same thing Magneto does. Is that ah is that a mechanics? we we Yeah,
01:17:45
Speaker
of. So succinctly put it, where is the line that we know whether or not we may cross it? I try to a lot. What other people do is their business. Look,
01:18:04
Speaker
You know what? when else it's I don't really care. We'll be stronger about it going forward. I literally only care for the bit. So we have to hold it. We're not allowed to do KM now?
01:18:17
Speaker
and It's all for the bit. I'm giving KMs up next. I am not going to give cards to him. with cards I'm not going to count right now. My approach to this has largely been approach it as if I were on dropout, which is to say pick a character and commit to whatever bit that doing.
01:18:37
Speaker
Perfect. is i it that is where i yeah The character you're picking is working. um I'm not going to give you a negative one for Rhino, but I'm going to make it a zero. That would be the consolation.
01:18:48
Speaker
Is the rule we're not allowed? Then, OK, so we need to avoid any mention of mechanic, like reference to the mechanics. Don't say what they do. Don't say what they cost. Don't say what the their power is.
01:19:02
Speaker
don't reference the text. Just for characters and locations.
01:19:06
Speaker
The concepts you can talk about. I don't think you can talk about the concepts without talking about their mechanical invocations. ken like I don't know how to he you're supposed to describe priorities without talking about priorities. one i was like, damn, they're breaking a lot of rules.
01:19:25
Speaker
And then I realized what was going on. I'm a bit of a rules breaker, then try. Are you ready at the time? Sorry. Yes. It's Fire Em's turn to gift clothes.
01:19:37
Speaker
Okay. and And so
01:19:43
Speaker
Okay. Younger sister. Demon. White Widow. a Demon master. ah
01:19:55
Speaker
X-Men related, but fit off. Selene, Hela. Hela. Much more major character. Angela. much, much, much more major character in Marvel Rivals.
01:20:07
Speaker
Big deal. And it's not. Fuck. No. Hello. Did I leave this somehow? The younger sister of a ma- Yes.
01:20:20
Speaker
I'm so sorry. You're right. Sister of Colossus. I'm so sorry. Another absolutely terrible movie. Another absolutely terrible Sony movie. Kraven, Venom. Nope.
01:20:31
Speaker
The one with Sidney Sweeney in it. Oh, Man Yes, she in this movie. Yes, okay. I love that movie. Okay. Um.
01:20:43
Speaker
seen on not revelation another Another sister here
01:20:53
Speaker
I fucked that up so bad. Nebula or Gamora? It was actually Nebula. You still got three, didn't you? I fucked it up. I feel like for second I thought you said and I was like, okay, we can keep going and then I realized you didn't say it. I was like, oh god, where do I even start? I don't remember what I said.
01:21:12
Speaker
Demon sent me down the wrong path for some reason, but I don't think you did anything wrong. took a while, but I could have just said his name. If I'd said Belasco... Because that wasn't a forbidden word. But it took me a while to remember his fucking name.
01:21:23
Speaker
I don't think Laura knows that one. That's the guy! That's Colossus' name? no, no, no. It's Magic's demon master's name. From Mephisto?
01:21:37
Speaker
Wouldn't have known that. Mephisto's

Humorous Takes on Movies & Marvel Characters

01:21:38
Speaker
just a midnight sunset, I thought. Mephisto's a totally different dude. they they they read I read the Claremont X-Men. She gets kidnapped by Belasco and aged up in his demon realm.
01:21:50
Speaker
Yeah. i yeah that's like reading the They changed it to Midnight Suns. They made Mephisto. I think that's right. Probably. well Now I'm never going to forget that. Was that two or three?
01:22:05
Speaker
ah Oh, um, that was... Yes, it was only two! I knew we could break your spirit. Also, I'm just talking about deception that proves the rule that they're kicking our asses. I want to talk about the Madweb clues, which were Amazon mom spiders and research.
01:22:22
Speaker
So I couldn't say she identifi she was in the Amazon with my mom researching spiders right before she died. And that is what I would have said.
01:22:35
Speaker
on with these Okay, when I say I love that movie, for the record, I loved it as like a good, bad movie. like I went in with bottom-of-the-floor expectations, which made it very enjoyable. Never apologize. It was those four words and Dakota Johnson.
01:22:51
Speaker
Which really does that. That is exactly what I'm... Those are the things that I would say. I am so tickled you're appreciating these. I worked really hard on them. Okay. Ben, I'm going to send you a clue. Ready?
01:23:03
Speaker
I'm ready. Oh, okay. I'm also. Sounds like a punk band. Probably is a punk band. ah In the movie with the wisecracking Ryan Reynolds guy. ah Teenager. You can't say teenager.
01:23:18
Speaker
Oh, shit. I can't say teenager. That's in the name. Okay. The game gives us these and we don't know why anymore. it's They're really pointless. We get a lot of them. They're very stupid.
01:23:29
Speaker
Boosters? Yep. You know, the first MCU movie. Oh, ah was it? It was Iron Man. Yeah.
01:23:41
Speaker
Um, you know, the character in the comics, I believe, is male in the film. This is a female character. Um, you know, ah from the, um, geez, you know, Arishem and, uh, the, the Athena. Oh, the Eternals.
01:24:00
Speaker
And this one's quick. This one's quick. Who's the quickest one? Oh, uh, Makari. All right. um This is where you go to get your costume in um in um the Sony animated movie.
01:24:17
Speaker
Time. Okay.
01:24:21
Speaker
It was Aunt May's. So we got three minus one, two. Yeah. ye That's... Oh, we only got two? Well, you lost a point for saying teenager on... I'm not a teenager, actually.
01:24:35
Speaker
We're both the architects and victims of their own destruction. It's all true. Okay. Okay, three more. Let's go. Is it... Who am I giving clues all right, I'm ready for time for whoever's doing it. You ready with the time?
01:24:52
Speaker
Yes. Okay, and go. not drink.
01:24:58
Speaker
um green villain. god he's wait you feel old He's old and and screechy and ah like a like a nasty eagle that eats carrion.
01:25:16
Speaker
Sauron. No. He's not green. It's like a real creature that exists on Earth that you know circles when you're dying in the desert. Vulture. Oh, right.
01:25:27
Speaker
Um...
01:25:32
Speaker
that word is of fraternally related to Professor X. Juggernaut.
01:25:44
Speaker
Uh-huh. This is the cute automaton in the latest movie from the MCU. Uh-huh. um Geez, don't know anything about her. Okay, if you went to Luna, the satellite the circularulate that circles the Earth, and you got a piece of rock... Nice.
01:26:08
Speaker
Is that where you were going with that? Uh-huh. That is where she was going with that. She was not allowed to say Clefable or Wigglytuff. but How do you evolve Clefairy? Yeah. that's Okay.
01:26:22
Speaker
that's three. Vulture was a little rough. But very respectable. just didn't get there from green and old because i was thinking of a guy with green skin. And I was like, who has green skin?
01:26:37
Speaker
I'm colorblind and I would have guessed that Vulture was brown until today. One of my favorite cards. Is Sauron pink or something? Did I just get him entirely wrong? Is he even green? Sauron's green.
01:26:48
Speaker
Yeah, you're right. he He's just a you know reptile instead of a... Why is Vulture green? Vultures are not green to my knowledge. No, they're not. I don't know why he's green, but he is. He's a better comic book color. It's about greener colors.
01:27:05
Speaker
Okay, Rhi, are you ready? Oh, yes. What am I doing? Am I giving clues? Is that what I'm doing? I'm about to send you your first one. Okay, I'm prepared.
01:27:17
Speaker
Oh, I like her friend of Hellcat. Oh, Jessica Jones. Yes. Okay. ah Okay. Can't reference that. ah Hangs out with the of the galaxy characters in the comics.
01:27:37
Speaker
I don't know them very well the comic. brassy in tone, but a similar color to brass. And not a witch, but Sorceress?
01:27:50
Speaker
don't anything about the Guardians in the comic. Usually...
01:28:00
Speaker
Naive, but... Sorry to get biblical. Adam Warlock? Yes, okay. Squirrels! This is why I don't play move.
01:28:14
Speaker
That's kind of mechanics.
01:28:20
Speaker
I'm fine. I'll count it's fine. It is in... Time.
01:28:33
Speaker
Why don't I do that? I'm sorry, I threw you off by saying about the mechanics. Squirrels! I just really appreciate how you got, like, I really want to talk about not brassy in tone.
01:28:45
Speaker
Because he's golden! No, just want to zoom in on that specific turn of phrase.
01:28:54
Speaker
I was thinking personality-wise. I was like, okay, well, this person doesn't what they mean. was thinking the voice of person, yes. It was like, what do you mean? I don't even know what that How do I describe it? Who's the most mealy-masked guardian of the galaxy?
01:29:07
Speaker
What do weird things say? I wanted to say a face is brass colored, but then I started worrying about how offensive it was because brass is considered a lesser metal than gold. And I'm like, i this I have to phrase this carefully.
01:29:19
Speaker
And that's why. The people who have skin colors of gold? Who are you being offensive to? Adam Warlock. He doesn't know.
01:29:32
Speaker
Okay.
01:29:35
Speaker
a good clue. We got the points we got, I guess, is what happened. It is what it i'm not going to worry about how many that was. Oh my gosh. In soccer, our spirit shirts said it's not how good you are, it's how bad you won it because that's how bad we were. Okay,
01:29:53
Speaker
yes one more round. Okay, anyway, that's my team that's our team right now. That's glorious. Who am sending these? Who am I that far behind? it? Oh, it's my turn.
01:30:07
Speaker
How much do we need to lock in? We're winning. so so We gotta lock in. This is our five. I brought dishonor in my house.
01:30:20
Speaker
Okay, I'm ready with time. Are we going? And
01:30:25
Speaker
ah In the most recent Deadpool movie, stuck her hand through Tom Wamsgan's face. Cassandra Nova. Correct. ah Crap.
01:30:39
Speaker
ah Oh, wow. Where does he work?
01:30:44
Speaker
ah The TVA. Yes. Beautiful clue. Everyone thinks these are overpriced, but they buy them anyway. People analysis on how good the... The Yes. Oh,
01:30:56
Speaker
people do analysis on how good the ah bunle yeah
01:31:04
Speaker
ah yeah ah Weapon Plus Program? think I'm technically allowed to say that. I know what I wasn't allowed to say.
01:31:17
Speaker
I'm not allowed to say that. A subject of it. A subject of it? Not the one you're thinking of. Wolverine, but not Wolverine. X-23. Not that one either, but you're close with what you said.
01:31:33
Speaker
Another one who's like that, but not like that. lady yeah just I don't know who else is. Oh, it's Saber. wasn't allowed to say Weapon yeah tools to stay i wasn wait really when then yeah we're you don't need to okay all right well that that was just i
01:31:52
Speaker
But I know the actual name of the program is not Weapon X, it's the Weapon Plus program, because there's a bunch of them, X is 10. And so, take that, lawyer, glasses, put it on the nose.
01:32:05
Speaker
But did you say weapon? Anyway, was it two or three? Oh, I did say weapon. Is that how works? I'm not allowed to do that because if so, I'd take it off. That's probably how it works, but you know, i was like, I don't know. If I didn't want you to say any kind of weapon, I could have just used the word weapon. and i've I've done that on another card. I think, I don't know. You got three or four.
01:32:25
Speaker
And I was like, who boy, you could. No, come on. If it's it's just good Jones with Christian Ritter, you can't just say Ritter. Rhea and I are losing so badly, but like, I'm not i'm not trying to, you know. no, no I think I'm great. You do not gently into that good name. The Christian argument gives me, that that's fact. Okay, win 25 to 20.
01:32:47
Speaker
um i'm not giving our i'm not giving us that point we still win twenty five to twenty Yeah. Alright. Oh, we're only five points behind? know. Did you take away a point from us?
01:32:58
Speaker
Because that's minus one. It's not just not giving it. I counted that round as two. Maybe it should be one point less. So was it three minus one? It would have been four that one... It's three minus one, yeah. Okay, so 24 to 20. Okay.
01:33:14
Speaker
Oh, we did All right. That was fun. Thanks for playing with us. Is there anything you want to plug? You want to I mean, you already kind of said what you do, but. I, I, I just feel like I want to talk about, ah I want to talk about one more here, which is the bundle one.
01:33:33
Speaker
For some reason, I couldn't say six. I don't know why. That's not where my head would have gone there. Yeah, I couldn't have said that. I think there's a metaphor about a bundle of sticks as like individual rights or something. I don't know.
01:33:49
Speaker
It popped into my head and I googled bundle of sticks and I was like, oh, that is the thing. And i was like, i don't know. smell That is what a bundle Yeah. I wasn't allowed to say that. And then under Sabretooth, it says I can't say Tyler Maine.
01:34:06
Speaker
no clue who the fuck that is or how relates to Sabretooth. That's the guy who played Sabretooth in X-Men and Deadpool in Wolverine. No shit! I just assumed that that was like his, like, what Logan is to Wolverine and his actual name isn't that. I just assumed it was like a Sabertooth name.
01:34:23
Speaker
Because that sounds like a name that Sabertooth would actually have. Tyler Maine is actually what they would call a character. That's his, like, real-world

Podcast Promotion & Humorous Reflections

01:34:32
Speaker
alias. Yeah! All right. Well, I'm going to take a cue from Pulse Glazer's notebook, and I'm going to tell you why you should watch KM Best, even though I imagine most of you already have.
01:34:43
Speaker
But he's not just a competitive guy. I think he's very entertaining. And if you like silliness, which if you listen to our podcast, you do, ah you can go listen to the KM Best podcast, where they go off the rails with Jerry Thompson. It happens, and it's very entertaining.
01:34:58
Speaker
Or if you want more serious stuff, he's ah even if you're not very spiky, like... most of us on the podcast. I think a lot of our listeners are perfectly spiky. Yeah.
01:35:09
Speaker
and And honestly, I play a Johnny, but I'm very spiky when there's like a card on the line or when I'm climbing to infinite. It's just once that's over, I'm like, let's do silly stuff. um And KM Best is is incredible at cluing me into what's going on in the meta because I don't pay attention to that all the time.
01:35:27
Speaker
Anyway, yeah it's very content. If you're actually podcast, we'll talk about like whatever stupid thing Eric Adams did recently. He's like sort of the bass out of the podcast where what will happen is he'll just do something like go on TV and be like, I'm both parts of Rush Hour in one guy. And you'll be like, what do you mean by that, Eric Adams? He didn't actually say that.
01:35:49
Speaker
That's a paraphrase. He didn't say that. What he will do is he'll go on TV and wherever he is, he'll call it the New York city of America. So he will to your town. he He will go to La Paz, Bolivia, and he will say, la Paz is the New York City of Bolivia, or New York City is the La Paz of America.
01:36:08
Speaker
He will do that everywhere. he did ah He did a video about how he was doing tourism where he referenced going to only Turkey, which is awesome because he is convicted of corruption in relation to Turkish advertising. Like, he is...
01:36:25
Speaker
America's coolest mayor, Eric Adams, mascot of the Jan Bess podcast. I don't just talk about Marvel Snap. I talk about the greatest man in American politics.
01:36:38
Speaker
and That's why you should be listening. That's who I want to plug. I want to plug Eric Adams and the fact that I think he's going to retire to become Shador Sanders' is agent.
01:36:49
Speaker
i want to talk about I want to talk about what Eric Adams does in the future, which is hopefully have a podcast. Actually, want to formally invite Eric Adams onto my podcast.
01:37:00
Speaker
Eric Adams will be here to become the third mic on the KMS podcast. I'm sure he listens to him. Yep. This is a direct line to him. Yep. I probably don't.
01:37:12
Speaker
That guy's weird enough. Honestly, like, I would expect him to not listen to, like, the Snapchat, but instead to listen to, like, my podcast or your own podcast.
01:37:26
Speaker
Just like just like im just a completely out of left field thing. he would would He would be there instead.
01:37:35
Speaker
I hope that wasn't too much to compare them with your games. I do apologize. if If you do the outro spill, KMVest can be in our outro. Or like a special anniversary outro.
01:37:48
Speaker
Do we have anything that... Wait, you want KMVest to leak into our outro too? we usually We usually close the podcast and then we keep talking for like two minutes about anything. You the reverse of what we do.
01:38:04
Speaker
Oh, do you start by talking about random bullshit? Yeah. Oh, you and the cold open. Yeah, yeah. have a formal open, but we haven't. We'll like cold open by just like talking about like whatever the fuck for like eight minutes. It's like filtering out the people who don't really want to be there for the personality.
01:38:19
Speaker
<unk> I have, I, the thing is, I've listened and it never struck me that that was random bullshit. I was, I was like, huh? Well, it is, it's just literally whatever's on my mind. Like, so whatever we feel like starting there, it's like, all right, uh, hey, Jerry. And now it's become like a sort of self-referential bit where like I, the sort of stressed overseer, am out of good bits to do for the cold open. And Jerry, lives in my basement, has to come up with them and is, is unable to. So we're,
01:38:46
Speaker
Really reaching into like Jerry Thompson life update, which is a gag I hope to delve deeper into where we cut to Jerry, ask him how his life is going. He says it's exactly the same.
01:38:56
Speaker
And then we just cut back out of the segment. And like that's... It went great this last week. Yeah, no, I started front-loading it and I'm just going to do it until he gets annoyed with it.
01:39:08
Speaker
And then it's kind of all right. He seems so chill. and Maybe there's something that he'd get annoyed with, but I don't know. I feel like he would just keep taking that for a long time. He's a dope dude.
01:39:21
Speaker
I'm very lucky. He told me he would be willing to do a podcast like... four times before I was realizing was serious. it was like, you know, one of those things you say, where like, oh yeah, it's okay, I'd do that, you know?
01:39:36
Speaker
I'm like, that happens a lot. And then like, um. Yes! I would do it for socialization. Yes, like that's what we do.
01:39:45
Speaker
Like, so like, that's like, oh, hey man, we should start a podcast. There's like a famous How I Met Your Mother episode where it's like, we should open a bar. That was 2010. 2025, we should start podcast.
01:39:57
Speaker
Everyone has that conversation. It goes absolutely nowhere, but it is foundational to assist white male relationships. It's what you do. Normally, not like fantasy football, but in our case, this is our fantasy football.
01:40:12
Speaker
I mean, that's just the sad state of things where it's like, oh, we've talked for longer than two minutes, so I guess we're a podcast now? It's like... Look at this report we have! Any conversation of a certain length comes content if you simply record it. Yeah.
01:40:31
Speaker
Uh...
