Speaker: Welcome to the mildly hot source podcast, the podcast where you're not your high source fan, but we're we're mildly hot. We're back here with Nick as usual and also Danny. How are you guys doing? Good. Good. This is your second week in a row. So I remember Nick calling me out last time for saying maybe recurring. um oh This is your second time. So is it's definitely. Well, this is the third straight. Yeah, third straight. Second on mildly hot source. You haven't gone to the second mildly frustrating. So we'll see if you make it there. I forgot so far so good Yeah, I'll decide if you're If you're good doing if I'm worthy of yeah, I've been pretty all right, you know just been going to the osmosis as usual yeah that is How do you do osmosis?
Speaker: What's how do you how do you OK? Well, it's a little bit of a real bummer, but it's, you know, you can get your guesses. Yeah, there you go. It's the same predicate. I'm just moving around doing my own thing, kind of living life as is. Well, I know. I can tell you what osmosis is. Nick isn't doing it. Hmm. I don't think this is what you're going for. Look up the term moving to the osmosis. Not, not, not, not getting anything. and i you know No, I'm just getting continuing to get the ah definition of osmosis. Yeah. And the results say you are not the father.
Speaker: oh
Speaker: It's usually a celebration after that. not you um You don't even have my hat. Osmosis is a spontaneous net movement of diffusion of solvent molecules.
Speaker: Okay, so now that I got it, that makes sense.
Speaker: No, that I read it, I got it. Anyways, you Ross Moses. Oh, okay. Excuse me, Ross. Most. Thank you very much. Did you say ostracize? Oh, a play on ostracize. Nice. But, you know. All right. I don't know. Just chilling. Yeah, that's good. You had your day off work today. Yeah. And my my my best buddy ah came over and helped me install this nice AC unit. And it has been a dream. I've been asleep ever since and up until this point. Yeah, it would du to was pretty hot. I walked in. The downstairs was 80 or 78. 78. Yeah, I was downstairs.
Speaker: um And luckily it was earlier in the morning, so it didn't get to the cooking yet, but yeah you could still see like a degree or two change once you hit the stairs. Yeah, you get upstairs. It was like 83, 84. That was pretty rough. um That's because yeah he rises through osmosis. He was the osmosis thing up there. As soon as I got up there, I was osmosed. I was standing outside your door, I don't know if I told you, and just apparently you have gnats that like to visit you every now and again. So they were all sort of hanging out at your door. So I was just standing there waiting for him to come answer the door and I was getting attacked. Oh, the front door. Yeah. I thought you meant his bedroom door. but
Speaker: no old time Set of problems if it's your bedroom door they're waiting outside something's wrong Did they go where the heat is they gonna do stuff yeah our nats are bad out there uh it's so it's a smaller town i wouldn't say it's a small town it's just smaller like the whole place is maybe the size of carrie so and then it just goes in the flat um country yeah okay so yes i don't know what the terrain has to do with the nets
Speaker: If there's more woods, there's gonna be more nets. Yeah, there's just a lot of rivers that go through it. Oh, there's a lot of water over there. I mean, we are right next to the ocean. Like on the map, there's that little divot that creases all the way inland, and we're maybe about 30 minutes away from that. Oh, you're close to the water. Yeah. But if we wanted to go to, if we wanted to go to Wilmington, it's like an hour, maybe an hour and a half. If we wanted to go to, um, what's it called? I don't know. South Carolina Beach, Myrtle Beach. Uh, if you want to go to Myrtle Beach, then it's maybe a three hour drive from here. So you're still an hour from the water? Yeah, somewhere pretty close. our Hour, hour 15, depending on where, which way you're going.
Speaker: Yeah, that's cute. But Nat's, yeah, possibly, has something to do with it. I mean, anything with woods around is brutal. on My house is brutal because we've got woods in the back and on the side and it's hard to sit outside. Yeah. they're just And I get its braid every three weeks for Nat's. It helps, but I mean, it's so crazy that it just helps. and We still try to, like, you know, citronella and spray and... I'm not convinced that citronella does anything. It doesn't. It definitely doesn't. I think that's just a myth. that Everybody's always said that. But the crazy part is our neighbor has no gnats. They're like, you're out. The one next to us. And if you walked our front door,
Speaker: They hit you in the face. If you go to his front door, nothing. And he's 20 feet. Yeah. Maybe something to do with your yardage, like your plants or something. No, it's the woods. We're just closer. I know. Same. Yeah. Brutal. Can you switch? I asked, but and he said no. What a loser. They have a basketball court in their backyard. Oh, that's that. Concrete and all. Yeah. But I stole their landscaper. I needed it in my land aerated. to plant seeds and stuff, and I don't have the tools for that. And when he was surveying my land, I was walking through with him, and he was just telling me about what he was gonna do and all this stuff, and he says, ah you got a real net problem out here. And I was like, yeah, and that's when I found out my neighbor didn't have one. yeah was like I was like, they don't have that? He was like, I can walk through their yard all day and do all my work with no nets. He was like, they're like attacking us. Crazy, 20 feet.
Speaker: Yeah, they like you. Weird. No, it's not a search. People that go to the front door. and since yeah It's Yeah. ah I think that's common, more common out there. It's weird that your neighbor doesn't have it. Yeah. I've never seen anything like that. But even the spray, I mean, it's like 85 bucks every three weeks and it, it calms it down, but it doesn't get rid of them. We still have to put a fan on to sit outside. Yeah. What does the spray even do? Because I mean, it's not spraying them. No, it will. You spray. They spray like the bush, the bushes and you're like your fence and. Yes, this fair amount is supposed to keep them away. It's supposed to be like kind of like a repellent. Like if you spray like a bug spray, if you spray that on your bug spray really actually works. So it's just that like coating your surroundings. Gotcha. And it only lasts for like.
Speaker: two or three weeks. That's why they come every three. Yeah. Interesting. Didn't know that. ah Sounds like you should get it sprayed on you. I do. Yeah. Every three weeks. Right around every three weeks. You just paint yourself white and lay against the the fence. Put it through a straight tan machine. Yeah. Yeah. Turn around. Yeah. Turn around. Yeah. Anyways, that's good. So you're nice and you're nice and cool in your house now. Get some resties. You didn't go to the pool like you wanted to.
Speaker: Yeah, no, I did not. I will be doing that tomorrow after we get off. Nice. Yeah. That's cute. Your neighborhood has a pool? Yeah. We have two pools, but sometimes they close one pool for whatever reason. I guess they party really hard at that one. I don't know. Because they close it every two two weeks. One of the houses has a pool. They just all jump the fence. That's about right out there. Something. That's cute.
Speaker: Scrap's delicious. It's insane. Top five. Top five. Evan Williams 12. Yeah, I like it. But you can't find it. It's one of those things you can't buy. Yeah, I mean, I forget. I remember when we bought it, they said that this isn't available for purchase anywhere but here. And it's not. I've never seen it. I should go back and get another one. We should go back and get another one. Can we door dash it? Probably. I'd be down. It's probably not that bad. I bet it was. All right, cool. Good to hear from you guys. What about you? What's happening in your world? and Nothing, really. Just babying, kidding. I don't know why that was funny.
Speaker: and same one His dad's transformation is complete.
Speaker: I'm kidding. Um, speaking of, we, yeah, that's all we did today was go see our dad. Um, he had his surgery and he's good now. Supposedly he was texting me earlier. Gave him style.
Speaker: gives we but but um Yeah. They pulled it out through his little belly button there. No, sure. Did you hear? oh You probably couldn't hear. We had them while the doctor was talking to us, the the janitor behind us was um making wind tunnels with the garbage bags. ah So we couldn't really hear anything. It was pretty great. Yeah, what what timing? And if if you work in a hospital and you see the doctor come out to talk to whoever, regardless of what it's for, I know this wasn't, you know, life threatening. No, she doesn't know that. but She doesn't. But why would you come out creating
Speaker: tornado effect for minutes, for minutes. And it seemed like she stopped. Every time the doctor stopped talking, she stopped changing the garbage bags. And then as soon as the doctor started talking, she would. It must have been the largest garbage bag she's ever had because she was violently swinging it around. That was hefty. For minutes. That was how many gar ah my back was turned. Do you know how many garbage cans it was? I think it was only two, but she just did it for a while. It was a long time. um That's a ten second procedure. She was but directly behind us, just, I guess, trying to get it open. So she was trying to get air in it. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, and it would sound like, so like I said, he's... Did you get that? That's what was happening. It was horrible. He couldn't hear anything. um So yeah, Bonnie is funny. Bonnie had to like lean directly into the doctor. It looked like a post -game interview. Yeah. They can't hear anything over the crowd.
Speaker: Um, but yeah, that was great. Uh, but he, uh, he seems like he's fine. They, the doctor said that everything was basically super swollen, which is expected. Yeah. yeah He's fine now. He's just really sleepy. He's texting me like, what's that dog? Oh, he hit you up already. Yeah. Nice. Um,
Speaker: Yeah, he said, ah I feel surprisingly good. and I feel shocked. I feel shocked. We'll see how tomorrow goes. I said, watch the Mets lose. Just go hang out. That'll make you feel better. Yeah, which they did lose. They were winning when I texted them that. Did they play tonight? Yeah. They lost? Yeah. To the Marlins? Yeah. They're a trash team. They should stop. Go to college. Yeah, they're really bad. Good job. Oh man, they're awful. Yeah, it's pretty, it's pretty sad to watch. Whatever. They need another team meeting. Yeah, that worked out really well. For the first game. the The first two, they won two and then lost the next two. Trade them all. They probably will. When's the trade deadline, speaking of? I don't know. July. What? Oh, okay. So a little time in July. Yeah, plenty of time to get worse and then trade all their good players. Sweet.
Speaker: I'm down. Speaking of sports, are the Oilers going to score any goals? It sure doesn't seem like it. I don't know what happened. What's happening. Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Crazy. Yeah, but that's where defense comes in. Yeah. Defense ones wins championships. Facts. Yeah. If you're scoring seven goals a game and you can't score seven goals a game all of a sudden, it's hard to win. Yeah, and then what? Because that's the only reason they were winning. They were winning seven to six. But yeah, but to go from scoring so much to not being able to put the puck on that is crazy. Yeah. Especially with the Dry Sidal, McDavid. I mean, it's a star -studded lineup. Yeah, they have a good goalie though. Eugene Hopkins. Yeah.
Speaker: But they're, you know, yeah, he's played pretty unbelievable. So it's hard to hard to say. But it's still interesting to watch. Yeah. Have you watched any of the Nick? No, a place for us. I don't watch them. Yeah. That's he's right. I watch people to like learn how to like I watch tutorials or like yeah how to do he watches YouTube videos of people doing stuff. Oh, to learn how to do that stuff. Yeah. To practice it. But other than that, I don't you know. I don't know. I was telling him that you are supposedly pretty decent at hockey.
Speaker: So come up here. Let's go play. I've been played in a really long time. I told him to. I would love to actually do that. I mean, if you're done, I've been looking at, I could take a train. Yeah. He usually takes a train here. <unk>i Oh, that's right. I forgot it runs right here. Yeah. Not here anymore. I live in Egypt. You know, what is the ice house? This one, do you guys have a different one? There's a bunch. So just the ice house. Well, there's where like the hurricanes practice. That was the last place I played. How's the ice? Good. Better than ice house. Okay. Well, I know here's a little wet, but when I went over to Denver, it was really crisp. Denver?
Speaker: Yeah, it's Colorado. dollarler and Yeah. When I went there, it was, yeah, it was really crisp and hard. it Like it was some good ice, but yeah so I don't know about, ah like when I'm here, it's a little bit more soft and shady. So I didn't know how it was there because it could be somewhat, could be shady. It's shady. Yeah. Okay. So I mean, I could definitely, i I'd be used to that. second I think soft is the word. Shave is weird. I shavied this morning.
Speaker: With some shavy green. Yeah, it's, it's, it's a, you know what I mean? Yeah. No, I do. Yeah. It's, it's rough, but yeah, I would love to play. Yeah. Or do anything like a stick and puck. Yeah. Stick and puck would be fine. They're a blast. We could, yeah. What position are you, Danny? a Left center wing. he He's a striker. Two and one. Yeah. I don't, I don't, I have no idea. I mean, I just, I mean, you've seen, yeah, I've only played pickup games. I've never played in the league. So I mean, you just kind of switch on and off with,
Speaker: playing wing, playing center, playing D, just kinda. In the league that I play in, I try to play a D, but I typically end up with the puck outpacing everybody else in the scoring goal. So they're trying to ah put me into C league and then have me be forward instead. Nice. And I'm like, okay, I guess I could do that. Do you not want to do that? and see why not I mean, I could. It's just I don't know. I'm really good at just taking the puck. I have good intuition of like, that's my puck. Give me that. So I don't trust anybody else to take the puck. But at this point, I also don't trust anybody able to shoot the shot either. So I'm just like running around people just like, yeahp yeah.
Speaker: I wish I had some videos of it because I like S like um zigzag through. Oh, yeah, I was taking one serpentine serpentine. You don't know. You're in Yeah, let's put the D is a technical term. So that is this is a hockey term. ah yes I guess I don't know. But it's a mighty ducks term. I have no idea. Yeah, that's in general. Well, yeah, they that'd be cool to get you here and play. I'll ah definitely come out and watch. i Yeah, I mean fun for it to be fun to watch we'd have to play in like a pickup game Yeah, but it's tough out here because the pickup games are all I mean we can we can do like shootouts and stuff. I'm pretty consistent with the bar Where?
Speaker: You mean in like a stick and puck? Yeah, if we did stick and puck or something like that, we can do stuff like that. They don't do that. What do you mean? Like the stick and pucks here turn into games always. Yeah, I figured that's probably what it is. Okay. Oh, fair enough. Okay, that's fine. Why would you not want to play a game? Too many people? No, I can play a game. I just didn't know. yeah was It's just tough because around here, all the only people that go are like the A -leaguers. On the pick up. So the way we do it here is we do half of the ice is practice. Half of the ice is a game. So, uh, we got somebody that's practicing his goal is some, they'll transition from one side to the other side. Um, either, you know, participating in the game and being able in the game, and then he'll practice on just taking shots from us. Um, so do you have to check stuff so you have to check the puck?
Speaker: yeah Yeah, I guess so. Yeah. If you mean like going to the blue and then going back. Yeah. Is there an offside still? Yeah. um I mean, that's hard. No, it's not. If you don't reach the blue when trying to come back, then I mean, we call that and then you have to restart at the blue. You can't you can't just try to take a shortcut. Yeah. like But, um, I may make sense, but like, yeah. And then the other side is practice. So I've been working on my shots, uh, trying to get my snapshot and in order and it's coming, it's coming to terms. I'm getting pretty consistent on hitting the bar. Yeah. I've been playing so long, but I love to man.
Speaker: ah You can probably help me work some work some things out that I'm missing. I don't think it's gonna go like that Okay, I don't play Well, you're fine. I haven't skated since the last time you were here. I mean, Dylan talked about that the other day. That was the last time I skated. And before that was a long time. Should I get back on the ice? I know. Yeah. I'm going to do a podcast from there. It's just hilarious. GoPro it. I've told him to, but he can't buy the camera. I'm getting there. That's it for GoPro.
Speaker: I mean, not like the top of the line one. You can get like a GoPro line for like 174 or something like that. Yeah. They have like knockoff ones, too. That doesn't necessarily have to be a GoPro. It's the same thing, though. Like that's Wally has like a knockoff version of a GoPro. Oh, is it? Mm hmm. They're not expensive. It's a go throw. Yeah, it's a go medium. Go, bro. Have you I haven't talked to Jimmy in a while. Have you heard about all the shark attacks happening in Florida? A smidgen. I haven't heard a smidgen of shark attacks. I heard there's a great white following going on down there. Is it? That's what I heard. What is the following? There's a lot of great whites just hanging out by the beaches. Oh, there's just a lot of sharks in general. Like they had like a helicopter fly over and there was like a thousand of them.
Speaker: This is a water shark attacks or something or what? ah Yeah, a couple shark attacks um there was um The note notable one was uh, it was like um Late last week. um It was two shark attacks within four miles of each other Damn within 90 minutes of each other. Oh damn. Yeah, and they were both like amputations. Were they in Florida? Yeah. I didn't read about that. Yeah, I forget which beach, but yeah, in Florida. Ouch. Yeah, so like it was like one kid it was like one amputation and the other one was like a double amputation. Jeez. So that's thanks. But yeah, the shark sharks are just going crazy and there's just video after video of people just recording sharks like people because you know how they have those high rise hotels next to the beach. It's just people sitting in their hotel rooms filming sharks swimming around people and trying to yell at people.
Speaker: Because that's pretty crazy. Yeah, they're trying to warn him, but it's June 7th Yeah, so yeah, so last week um Yeah, ah you and people are like why why aren't they moving I'm shouting but like you're like 12 stories up and they're in the ocean which is pretty loud yeah, I
Speaker: If they're on the beach, I could probably barely hear you. So if you're in a house somewhere. Yeah, exactly. I'm going to be 10 feet from them. One girl lost her hand and right leg. Yeah, I guess that's probably a double. Jeez. But I think they're survived. Yeah. Yeah, there was one video that was pretty. There was three people. It was two attacks. It was three people. ah Okay, gotcha um One of them was pretty gruesome um Like one of the videos was just like blood all like all in the water. It was pretty nasty um But yes crazy i haven't seen that in a while like that frequent um So that's how a bunch of drama movies come out
Speaker: Yeah. Um, there, uh, there was a bunch of hammerheads too, just kind of chilling because they're not really aggressive. They were just kind of swimming around checking everything out. They're the more docile ones. They're beasts. Yeah. I mean, they're beasts, but they're not i don't know human aggressive. It is true. Really? Um, yeah. i heard What's the name of the one that's, um, the more aggressive one? Bull shark? Yeah, I think that's, yeah, I think that's it. Yeah, it says they're not aggressive, but they're like big. Hammerheads are huge. Yeah, they're pretty big. Yeah, I mean, if you can tell from - They're intimidating. If you could tell from a mile away, that is a hammerhead shark in the water, then probably. I think they said one of the sharks that attacked him was like 14 feet long or something like that.
Speaker: that's a great white it might have been i didn't get to really look into it yeah i didn't i'm trying to look it up right now it doesn't say but it kind of it's worth a google it's worth the google it says they think it was ah bull sharks gotcha yeah that'll do it oh you know one of the videos uh like with the people who are yelling at one of the people and on the beach they were like up in their hotel um You can see the hammerhead it like picks up speed and it like starts to lunge But you can also if you like zoom in really close. It's going after a fish. That's right next to the person It just grabs the fish and swims away It was just right next to the person. They had no idea. that not terror Oh, they didn't know
Speaker: no they didn't know potentiallyally look like it looks like Not a person in the world knows anything around them within one feet. no in that chart Yeah, once they see that shark there is nothing else in there. What shark diving would you do it? Yes. are Sorry, not shark timing. Yeah. Well, I guess it's the same thing. Swimming with sharks is what I meant to say. Like, would you willingly maybe go pay gun sharks to go jump in the water and shark infested water? If I had more training around sharks, then yes. I'd only do it in the cage. You would go in a cage and go down there? I think so. Yeah. I don't think anybody's ever died from the cage.
Speaker: I mean, I think like one or two. is There's a couple. Are you sure? um I'm pretty sure there's a couple. I'm not sure. It's worth a Google. It's worth a Google. But I mean, is that something? There's definitely some close calls for sure. I guarantee you. Yeah. I mean, it is that something you would do? I think I would do the cage. I didn't even think about that. I think I'd do the cage. The cage is what I thought you meant at first. Yeah, I would definitely do that. and You know, you can like go to the Bahamas or the Keys or something and pay to. Reef dive. Would you do reef diving? Because there's like sharks all over the place over there. Any reefy. Yeah. I mean, I would maybe. I'd be terrified. I don't think I could do it. I wouldn't enjoy it. I would love it. But i I don't know. I don't know if I could hold my breath for that long. the scuoba gear I I'd be more inclined. It's scuba diving, bro. Hold your breath for that long.
Speaker: A lot of reef diving, not so like that they hold it for like eight minutes and stuff like that. They just use the snow minutes. Yeah. I don't know about all that. what Yeah, it's David Blaine going over there. What the hell are you talking about? is david break David Blaine and Chris Angel going. You can't blow up a balloon without taking a breath. Eight minutes. We'll be looking up the average. Let you look it up. I'm telling you, eight minutes, you've lost it. This isn't Navy divers and they can't even do that problem. There's not a chance they can do that. Eight minutes.
Speaker: Um, have you seen this? Have you heard about this? I'm reading. Um, so there's been in free divers five to 10 minutes. No.
Speaker: I mean, he's reading it. I know. Shenanigans. Five to ten. That's double. That's saying they can hold their breath from one hour to two hours. I'm just saying there's a lot of people that just do it for around that time. So, I mean, they stay around. I would have guessed like four or five minutes. Yeah. Tops. There's also the deepest pool in the world and what, Thailand or somewhere around there? That's like, no, Japan, I think. And then, um, yeah, that place is really, I want to do that one, but and just just in general, like towards the bottom or something. So it's like, it's this huge, uh, cave and like, they got pool tables down there and just like these different levels. Yeah. And like, um, you can, they have these, uh, windows so you can see into the different levels and you can see the divers go down.
Speaker: interact with all the different stuff and they got like city. Interesting. So it's an aquarium? A human aquarium. Yeah. Interesting. Yeah, but it's pretty cool. yeah You mean pool tables under the water? Yeah. like That's kind of cool. You can play pool. That's pretty interesting. Play pool right before you die. and something like Well, you don't have to worry about sharks, but yeah, it's pretty deep. You have to not have a fear of claustrophobia or anything like that. You have to ah finish the game within four or five minutes. Yeah. You have to scratch on the A -ball immediately.
Speaker: um says in 2008, a couple of people died after their cage just fell off the boat. That's I mean, so that wasn't a shark. That was just they died from doing it. Here's the thing. I don't think I could do anything that that has the option of dying. I feel like that's really stupid. You drive. So no skydiving? Well, that is true. No, I mean like imminent danger of death. So like said you can't really die going zero. Like you can stop. You don't have to drive fast. It's hard to die going five. What about a bunny jumping? I don't think I can do it. I really don't. I think anything that you sign up for,
Speaker: Oh yeah, I'll do that. That's not even close to bungee jumping. There's a line. You know, I think the line is a seat belt. Really? anything but You got an ankle belt. yeah How about the, uh, the swing? The swings? Yeah. in so Is it Australia? Those huge swings. Yeah, it's like it's... I think it's like a regular like swing in a swing set, but it's giant and you just... Like 50 stories tall. Do you sit on it or do you lay on it?
Speaker: ah think i um i don't remember the swings where it just it's giant and it put goes in a circle and swings around in a circle no no no no no like the fair yeah not that this is ah like it's like bungee jumping but you can choose to either bungee jump or go on the swing i don't i've never heard of that let's put another google ah google But like these are your mildly hot sources. Yeah, I Don't know like skydiving. I feel like it maybe I just feel like these are ignorant activities of what I just want to Hopefully not die if you're doing something to hopefully not die. It's not a good idea. I think It's a New Zealand, which is the same thing Wow Yeah, okay, so you sit on it
Speaker: so instead of like jumping like free fall it's you go on a rope and you swing down so almost think of like um like uh zip lining right kind of like that but it's just uh an eight angle so you swing and go back and forth and then they pull you back up so it's like bungee jumping you just don't have to jump kind of yeah i don't
Speaker: Hmm. I don't know. You don't have to do the jumping part, you just swing. I'm just saying, that's a kind of medium for a lot of people. Yeah, it could be. But I don't know if that's... What about the extreme ziplining? Because that that's actually a decent one. You know, people are... you're pretty high up. Yeah, you said extreme ziplining. No, zipline. I want extremes. I'm not ziplining through the, you know, the Grand Canyon. i not I don't want a zipline anywhere. If you fall, you die. yeah If you fall, you break your legs. I'm up Well, I mean, like there's got to be ah there's ah there's a line for me. Injury, yes, death, no. Yeah, I mean, one's a risking your life. yeah Yeah, the one's risking injury, and I'm up for risking injury.
Speaker: Shaka bra Yeah, and ah there's a YouTube link in the chat um of the swing go to like a minute 20 seconds and the mean let me tell something let meation on that' be So you're just dangle are they about to just drop them and They sure are. No. now
Speaker: no he says no That's the in -between for a lot of people. like They're not comfortable jumping, but they can just sit in it and be dropped. no It's less intimidating. I'll be dropped from a fair ride or an amusement park. You still die. Probably. But probably you're there's a better chance that you'll just break something. Not a better chance. There's a higher chance of not dying. But if, if you're gonna die, you want to do it on the swing. no Yeah, I don't think I would. Would you jump? Would you bunny? Would you jump out of, would you, uh, what's the word I'm looking for? Jump out of a plane? Sky dive. Would you sky dive? No.
Speaker: I didn't know, I didn't say I would do it, I was just curious. That's funny because they twisted the middle of it that were probably some I should have worn the brown pants. He's still watching the video. I see that. Nick, would you skydive? Yeah. You would? Yeah. I don't think I would. I don't think I'd do it. She's, my wife is skydived, skydived. Oh really? Skydived. Yeah. And she loved it and she would love to do it again and I don't think I could do it.
Speaker: What if she would do it if she asked you to? She has asked me to. My answer is no. I'll just go with her. I don't think I can. Go do the swing. Yeah, I don't think I can. She went with her brother and her brother chickened out in the plane. No, for real? Yeah, he wouldn't jump out. They tried to get him to go and he said, now you have to take me back. Yeah, I'm sure that's a lot. So she did it by herself. Did that cost extra money? To get it taken back? Oh, I know. I think he just paid a lot of money to take a 25 minute plane ride. Yeah, you could both do the ah swing together, but really cute. You could do a joint funeral. Yeah, that's what I mean. I just don't see the benefit.
Speaker: It's just people who like the adrenaline. I don't want the adrenaline of death. Same reason you go on a roller coaster. But that's a roller coaster. That's the fake adrenaline. and That's adrenaline of, you know, it's fiction. Yeah, that's why. It's the illusion of going off the side and you don't. ah You could. a lot of For a lot of people that's not good enough, the illusion of it, they want to actually do it. Yeah, but if you... I just i just don't see the long -term benefit. Yeah, I mean there's... Which goes back to the original thing. Would you swim with sharks? It's like here, here's a bunch of man eating aggressive animals. Jump in with them. And then we have zoos and like the number one thing is don't jump in the gorilla cage. yeah well That's jumping in a gorilla cage.
Speaker: But is it's the opposite in water. It's jump in the gorilla cage if it's in water, but don't if it's on land. And that seems crazy to me because you jump in a gorilla cage and there's a good chance they're going to attack you. Yeah. And a gorilla cage is probably like an 80 percent chance you die jumping into the infested waters. They pick those places and no do all the training. So it's probably like a 10 percent chance.
Speaker: I mean, it would still be a thing. No, I don't think so. I think it's only a 10 % chance because so little people do it. Or sorry, so many people do it. Whereas jumping in a gorilla cage, so little people do it. It's an 80 % chance because eight out of the 10 times it's happened. Because they all die. They die. But people go in the water a bajillion times. Yeah, it's because they can. I, shenanigans. I just don't, I don't think like it picking a spot where you know there's sharks to go dive in is a very stupid idea. Very specific kinds of sharks. Any shark. Only the experts would do like the dangerous sharks. Yeah. Why? Well, they're all dangerous except the ones with no teeth. I'll dive with those. I mean, I'll dive with the whale shark. I'm all up for, I'm up for that.
Speaker: but only like the expert experts that do like diving near great whites. And even that's super rare. It's usually just a camera. They drop in the water. But if you go near a reef, there's going to be lemon sharks, bull sharks, tiger sharks is going to be all of them. Yeah. I mean, they do their educated guesses crazy when and where to go. Stupid. Stupid. Probably fun. But yeah, when you get out. when you get out yes when you can say, man, that was cool, then it's cool. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I would consider a cage other than that. No. Yeah, a cage is rough, because what like that, what happens when the the cable breaks? Because Steve didn't know he was working that day. He's got to be fine. You just sink to the bottom.
Speaker: Yeah, they come get you. And my Apple watch on, I'll be fine. I'll use. I hope your watch has oxygen reading and oxygen giving. You could watch it sink. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. and That'd be interesting. We should get you to do it. I'll be one of the podcast. little bit bit little bit Yeah, you can go play hockey and then go shark diving. Shoot. All in one bundle. See if we can get a Groupon for this. They probably have them.
Speaker: um What else do we do today, Danny? We went and got some sandwiches. Can we fix you some sandwiches? Sandwiches. We went and got some sandwiches from Dave's Hot Chicken. Don't get the reaper.
Speaker: So we went last time. So the last time I brought him there to introduce him to it, which their sandwiches are really good. Their chicken's very good. um there're It's just a hot chicken place, as the name says. So they do chicken sandwiches. My place is Nash. basically yeah um but they do like chicken sandwiches bites which is like you know little nuggets almost chicken tenders like that's all they do um and they have different levels of hot which is like you know Milds medium hot extra hot and Reaper so I've gotten extra hot and when we went there I was like extra hot like hotter than chick -fil -a It's like it's like pretty hot I eat it and I need kind of a break and
Speaker: In between like half, I threw any like a two minute break to kind of recollect myself and continue. Um, cause obviously the more you eat, the hotter it gets accumulates. Yeah. It just kind of builds on top of itself through osmosis, osmosis in my mouth. Um, yeah. So after half of the sandwich, I was awesome. Um, yeah. So I, I got the extra hot.
Speaker: I was watching your face. And we went today at the extra hot and and ah ah hot because you get two sandwiches um and the extra hot was pretty, pretty hot. The last time Danny went the first time he tried it, he got the extra hot and he was like, it's not a hot. It wasn't. They probably forgot to put that. No, it was hot. He just didn't taste it. And you got the extra at this time, too. And you you didn't think it was that hot. Not hot. I mean, at the Reaper and it was a problem. So he not even he thought he would be like, OK, I'll just get the next level hotter. And it was apparently it was a big jump, which I I kind of anticipated. It wasn't. I put all the it's not even in the same league. It was unedible. If you put Reaper on it, it's going to be a problem. It was not edible. Have a Reaper. Reapers of pepper.
Speaker: It didn't say eating Reaper. It ruins food. It doesn't. I think it does. You should talk with them and ask them, is the Reaper sauce different from the rest of them? Because if so, could you get the extra hot and just make it a little hotter than that? Yes, it has Reaper in it. Yeah, it's Reaper peppers. It's Carolina Reaper. On all of them? Like on all the hot ones? No, on the Reaper ones. Well, that's what I'm saying is like... Can you get a mix of the two? something something that's diluted, you know. Yeah. So you want something in between. Yeah. Yeah, I wouldn't kill you. So you want an extra hot and just put a little reaper on it, please. You get half and half tea, don't you? I don't get any tea.
Speaker: He's more of a green tea. yeah Wow. ah how Boba. Oh. Yeah, you're more of a... Yeah, I am. Irish. Italian. Whiskey. Yeah. Macchiato. I don't know. Close. Like like my frappuccinos. Yeah, so at least to me, anything that's reaper flavored, it's very hard to add reaper to something without it overtaking everything. It's just the amount you add.
Speaker: That was caked on. still yeah i mean that's true My fingers bit are still really spicy. ah hope you touch I can my eyes like I did before and it like stings for a second still. It's in your pores. Yeah. That was obnoxious, which I guess is the point, but that's not an edible version. That's like being on the show hot ones. That's what that was like. That's eating, except it's a whole chicken sandwich. Yeah. Yeah, but that should be a joke. You know what I mean? Like try this, eat it, and you get it for free. Not just sign a waiver and you can try this.
Speaker: That's stupid. Just be like, light the bomb. Go for this. Well, you have to you're technically supposed to sign a waiver to eat the Reaper one. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah. They just didn't make me sign anything. He goes, you have to sign a waiver to have that one. I was like, OK. And I never heard from them again. They just sent our food out. um But I see why, because it's not it's not good. Well, anything that they tell you that you got to sign a waiver for is probably going to be pretty bad. Yeah, it was rough. They were correct. But that jump, like Dylan said, that jump is extreme. Like that's just the next step up. It should just be hotter than the extra hot, which is delicious.
Speaker: So I think it's not one to one. It's a they moved from because all of the sandwiches are super juicy, like it's all over your hands, the sauce. um But they just replaced that sauce with Reaper. So it's the same amount of sauce, but all Reaper instead of, you know, they sauced it up and then put some Reaper on it. It's 100 percent Reaper. It is. Yeah. And it's the same amount of it's rough. It's rough for about 40 minutes. I was not okay. My like lips were on fire. yeah I had touched my nose, so I was sneezing. It sucked. I was chewing ice. It's like a pregnant woman. Yeah, it's ice chips. Yeah, it was it was bad. you know the But I can eat like get the hot sauces. We can do those because, Nick, you've done them.
Speaker: Yeah. Like the, uh, last app. Yeah. That stuff. And it's, it's really hot for 15 minutes, 10 minutes. Yeah. This was brutal for 45 minutes from one bite of chicken. You're with chicken. You can you finish the whole thing. Hell no. He had two bites. I had two, I had two attempts. Granted, my second attempt was with no bread, no nothing. It was just, I just took off a chunk of chicken and ate it. Whoa. You gotta have the bread that's supposed to help. Yeah. But I wanted to try the chicken because the first one I took with the bread,
Speaker: Kind of dissipated and wasn't that bad. So it was the last imagine doing the hey Imagine doing the last day of the way you're supposed to do it on a wing. Now. Mm -hmm. I have It's not that bad With that much of it though. I We don't know if like I tossed a wing I did it not too long ago and then it was so good. I thought I told you, and then it was so good. we We got pizza and wings from Anna's and I tossed a wing in just the last tab just to see if I can do it, ate it. And it was so delicious that I started putting it on my pizza the next day. Yeah, the next day was brutal. But it was so delicious on the pizza that I was just like,
Speaker: Excited about it. I wonder why that's what it's supposed to be because it's supposed to be good Kind of I know it's a joke. I was probably for a while, but not nobody around here knows about hot ones It doesn't matter Well, hey, I have some try this guy. Yeah, yeah I made some sauce. Yeah next time you're on some people wait till some people move in there and be like wanna chip. Yeah, no, get like four different. No, i because remember I had the da bomb bottle, so. Yeah. You have it? I have it. No, he had his own. Oh, yeah. I don't... Do you have it?
Speaker: Think I gave him mine. I think I brought it to you. I don't have recently. I bought my own I'm pretty sure I brought a lot recently somebody's like are you talking to me? Yeah, I don't have it. I'm pretty sure I brought it to you recently. maybe I mean unless it's still downstairs i' positive i don't have I came over to your house and brought it because we had this conversation. Yeah, I know I have all of them still I don't have it But yeah, I'd always try it with, uh, people. And I mean, I enjoyed it even though it was terrible. And of course, you know, burning. Yeah. i would I enjoyed it for whatever reason. I enjoyed taking it and I take it with all the new friends that I met. I was like, Hey, have some of this. I'll have it with you. Come on. More did they say they died. Yeah, he hasn't seen him since. I know. I haven't moved out and they never moved in. Yeah. So it's working. You should get a like four barbecue sauces. And then like the bomb in the last dab at the end, which will be like here. So try these couple. Let me know what you think. Just let them get to the end. Chick -fil -A sauce. Yeah, throw in like honey mustard and a bunch of different stuff.
Speaker: What's your opinion on this one? Yeah, Monica would always say that the da bomb, that the da bomb, that da bomb is worse than all of them. And I disagreed for the longest, because it wasn't to me. And then I did it again. And it's just, it blows the ones that are after it away. It's not, you can't come back from that one. The way I always put it was, uh, last tab is hotter, but the bomb is more painful. Yeah. And why? it's off by the vineue or whatever It's awful. Yeah. It burns. It physically burns your mouth chemically. yeah It's not good. Yeah. Um, yeah, that's why it's beyond insanity.
Speaker: It's no bueno. Yeah. Um, but yeah, that's, I, I must still have to, I wouldn't, it's probably still not good. It's probably not good anymore that the bomb. I have to look at it. There's a lot of vinegar in those things. Yeah. Things with vinegar lasts a long time. That's what I was saying. That's that vinegar. Yeah. So we did that. That was a funny to watch because he was, uh, having a hard time. Who me? Yeah, you. Yeah, it sucked. Yeah, I did not partake. It was to the point where Danny was like, don't try it. Yeah, I really wanted you to. But like, you probably would have went home. Yeah, I mean, I would have. There was a couple months. I tried. There was a couple moments where I was.
Speaker: Not make sure. Yeah. Not sure if I was going to survive because my lips started burning and I was like, no, it's all it's just going to keep going up. Yeah. And like my nose was running, so I was embarrassed. I was trying not to like make weird noises like an animal. How pink did he get? It looks fine. It was rough. It seemed like somebody that gets pink, if they get drunk or they eat something. Probably, yeah. Probably. It was rough. And we were outside, so it was hot out. And the chicken was so hot, temperature... Yeah, it was like 100 degrees, yeah.
Speaker: So, so spicy and over hot. It's just a brutal mix. There's no coming back from that. That's what your food comes out like, you jerk. At work? Yeah. Yeah, but it's not that spicy. No, it's not spicy, but that's the temperature it comes out in. Yeah. Well, there's nothing worse than going to a restaurant with cold food. There's nothing. Oh, yeah. I hate that. I was just saying. Our food has to come out fresh out. Piping. Yeah. So that 10 minutes through your meal, it's still really hot. Yeah. It comes out mean. Good. I don't just have to hang out. Yeah. Just wait a second. I tell people that all the time, especially when I drop off. But the taste buds are working.
Speaker: Yeah. Well, when I drop off food and I know what it just came out of, or I know who cooked it. I know how long I was standing there. I'll drop it off and go. I wouldn't bite into that for like two minutes. Give it a second or else you won't taste it the rest of the day. You can't, you can't pick it up. Yeah. Whatever it is. Yeah. Like if it's a fry, you can't grab it. If it's a sandwich, you can't just give it a second. The Chipotle chicken pasta looks like it's boiling. It's hot.
Speaker: Because pasta gets so cold so fast. Do you still do mac and cheese bites? No, that's a different restaurant. That's a different restaurant. bru okay Yeah. Well, that's why I said still. Yeah. Well, pasta, if he is not still if you take pasta out and you let it sit for, if you look away from pasta and look back, it's cold. they So they're not allowed to pull that until it's ready to be put in a bowl, garnished and taken out. It's got to be dead last. ah Or else it sucks. Yeah. Well, Nick's Nick's gonna be pretty good at it. Come on, ping pong. Come on, Nick. Let's do this. Oh, what for you? Come on, man, you'd kill it.
Speaker: I'm sure I would be the only one there. What? Everybody else called out or took a break. Oh, we don't have that. We don't do breaks or call out, sir. ah and Fair enough. He might not come in. Sorry, he just adds up. That's fine. i don't we don't do that We don't do that here. Yeah, so we don't even have any cigarette smokers. That's why you don't have any employees there. Who me? Yeah. Who me? We've had the same employees since we opened. You've always always seen short staffed. No, that's on purpose because I like to do it. It saves money. It does. Well, it's also saves it's it saves money and it's fun for me to be in there and do it. It also keeps all everybody that's working back there doing the correct stuff.
Speaker: So I have to cook often. It keeps everything a little tight. You have a lot more control when there's a lot more people that you're comfortable and familiar with than if you have a bunch of new people trying to say this and that. we yeah This is how I do things in the other place, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. No, it's a pretty tight ship. Keep them in line. And we don't have any break tankers. That's how it does. Period. There is no break. Everybody gets free food. That is their break. You can eat for free. They all eat for free, but they do it on the clock Yeah, I don't make a clock out. I don't ask for anybody to clock out and eat And make your food do your thing because they work hard and they're good and they don't take it just put put it under the ah one of the machines
Speaker: What machine? Like a McCleary machine? Well, like say, uh, uh, my uncle's restaurant, we had a suit, like the soup dispenser, but there was a, like a level, you know, in between. So we'd put our plates and underneath it and take it out, like take it out, eat it. And, you know, no, they sit down and keep it warm. Well, that's the thing is they'll sit down. It's just a place to put it out of the, uh, while you're making. thatcha Yeah, no, they'll sit down and eat and I'll go back in the kitchen and cook while they eat. Well, fair enough. Nice. It's a loose, it's, I'm very pro worker, pro money. So everybody eats, they eat for free and they don't clog out. As long as they do good work. You know what I mean? They work hard. Yeah. They listen.
Speaker: Same. It's easy stuff. don't They don't rack a discipline. No, it's pretty dope. I'd rather just take my hour break. I ate on my shift. Yeah. Why? That's what they say. I'm going to eat here. Especially free food. They make whatever they want too. That's the fun part for me as well as they, there's so many ingredients back there that they just make food and they'll be like, Hey, come back. I made taquitos today. You want some? That's the best. That's pretty funny.
Speaker: Yeah, that's pretty awesome. And they make a lot of hot sauces with all of that because we have a bunch of fresh peppers and stuff all the time. Serrano's, jalapenos, Chipotle's. um And they just make a lot of like hot sauce to put on stuff for themselves. Yeah, it's pretty funny. That's pretty sweet. Yeah, pretty great. You guys do rice soup.
Speaker: You should listen out. Do you have rice water?
Speaker: We have mad rice water. We gotta ferment it and get some sake in here. I'm telling you, Nick, come on, bro. I'm sure the party's warm. 20. 20 what? To start, grand a year. Oh, oh, no geez. That's actually not a bad starter. You think? and That's three more than what I'm making now. I could, I could use that. I'm sure. You should know take a look at moving back here. What's holding you back from moving back here? Um...
Speaker: The main, main part at the moment is the fees of moving back and getting a place that is higher than what I have. And like, I've, I've looked at the, um, prices of course, and they're just higher than what I have here. So I have to lock in a position and I guess, um, Well, I'd probably be able to um save enough money to initially get the like deposit yeah the deposit and stuff like that. But they would also probably be like, hey, um how much do you make? And I can't give them what I make now, because then they'd be like, no. like steps Yeah. So because they're like 1 ,400 or 1 ,800. Yes.
Speaker: He can write you i write a lot of those letters sir yeah so um i think that's what i had to do with my apartment is i didn't have the job yet. because I was uno obsess i never got an apartment and i hadn't had a job first that didn't have just need no letterhead saying this is what they'll make. Questions. yeah Call me. I emailed my recruiter. I was like, Hey, buddy, I'm trying to get an apartment. I know I don't have the job yet, but can you send me some official document that says this is what I'm going to be getting paid when you hire me? Yeah. And they they were fine with, I don't even think they read it. Think about it, Nick. 20 times 40, at least 40. That's 800 a week. Yeah. That's like,
Speaker: 48 or nine a year. Plus over time before it gets behind the bar. Oh, we got that too. You want that too? They make like 70.
Speaker: Jimmy can come here and teach you. He punked out on that man. He could have moved here. Jimmy he should have came here. Yeah. Cause he'd make about the same. 80 plus working 30 hours a week. He could have been a bar manager.
Speaker: at the new brews. What? 80 grand for 30, 35 hours a week? That's insane. Yeah. That's stupid to turn down. He has a kid, dude. That's so stupid to turn down. I mean, unless you're moving to a new state and something like him turning it down, it's not the end of the world. I mean, that's, yeah that's moving. That's a life change of like moving out of state. You've lived in your whole life. Yeah, that's not, that's different. He's not, I don't see him ever doing that. Yeah, that's rough. But our servers, there's not a server at my restaurant that doesn't make over 55 a year, not one. It's disgusting.
Speaker: Um, 55, that's pretty decent. As a server, I'm talking 25 to 30 hours. I'm not talking 40. Yeah. I'm talking four to five shifts a week. It's disgusting. Yeah. Working for me. So what's the 20 an hour? What's what position is that? Chef? Yes. No, I cook open. Yeah. Well, yeah. Anything. Open. Yeah. ah Dishwasher. Cook. No, I we give our dishwasher 15 to start. OK, fair enough. Yeah.
Speaker: That's high. I was the kitchen prep, the busboy, and the to go takeout. And he just like threw you spare cash? Yeah, I set the taxes on the other stuff. He said that um my value or the reason why he paid me so low is because all the money was going into my business and I was like, yeah, eventually you'll own it one day. ah I even told I was like, I don't think so. But I mean, fine. There's nothing I can do. I didn't really have a choice. Didn't have an idea or anything until I was 22. So yeah, that's brutal.
Speaker: Yeah, 20 because I would ask him so he would be working all day and then all the next day and then all the next time I'm like, bro, you're making dill. He's like, no, I mean like 30 bucks yesterday.
Speaker: geez I'm talking 20 an hour to like drop fries and Brussels sprouts and coconut shrimp. I mean, I'd be happy to learn how to how to cook and do more. I know, but it's 20 to, I said I'd start your 20. You could learn whatever you wanted. Sure enough. It can be GM. Well, our kitchen manager. So my kitchen manager makes 26 an hour. Yeah. okay But I allow all over time. He made 105 grand last year. Oh, yeah. He doesn't do anything but cook. There are no arrests. There are no there's no responsibility because it's me. He doesn't have to come up with anything. He doesn't have to create anything. All he has to do is just make the dishes that I come up with. Yeah, that's it. that's right Well, we'll have to, of course, the position's been filled later. and Oh, not not that. But, you know, what's there to discuss?
Speaker: Well, so the way I'm planning it, I'm going to try to have my rent paid three months in advance. I'm going to try to go on like a twoweek like week saving two week, one week to try to pay my rent early. Um, so I'm hoping to have that settled. Can you do my lease ends and yeah, they, they allow you to pay in advance as much as you want. So I can just put it in the bank, but, um, That being said, hopefully, and well, my lease ends in March. I think March 1st. So maybe I can try to look for places around then. Because I did want to move back to Raleigh around March in the first place. You mean up next year? Yeah. Well, I mean, I can go back in time if you want.
Speaker: Yeah. I'll talk to Tony. He seems to be the guy. Well, keep me posted because I can't guarantee a spot, but the spot is worth it for even if it's temporary for five months while you do classes or try to do other stuff. Like I'll work or i'll you can work a schedule you need and I'll give you 20. That's fine. Yeah. But that'll definitely give me a way to get into a rally. That'd be pretty good. I appreciate that. That's dirty money. That's a good money. That's crazy money for no responsibility. That's crazy. Well, I mean, it's pretty good. I'll just take more responsibility, but that's fine. Well, look at that. There is no more responsibility. That's the thing. take care
Speaker: take There's nothing. Yeah, it's worth looking into when you actually can move. Yeah. I'm trying to figure out a plan because I wanted to do that initially, so I'd have hopefully around a three month. Backpace, I can jumpstart my way into Raleigh and have, you know, the.
Speaker: The you know fees all that stuff Yeah Some places you just have to look because a lot of places don't do down payment Like abelon peaks where I live the apartments you you always used to go to where I lived Yeah, every time I moved in there had zero. No first months. No last months. No, nothing. Just the security deposit just 250 bucks because I had a pen trustin They do that all the time other pet deposit Around here, that's all the time. ah Your apartment wasn't too bad either. What? That apartment was dope cheap. Yeah. Yeah, it was... You were just giving that as an example. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it was 18 a month. Oh, nevermind. Yeah. Bye. That's nothing when you make $20 an hour.
Speaker: Yeah. Quincy lives in a sick ass apartment in Cary and he makes, I mean, I make 17 and right now 600 is pressing it for me. So um man how 600 the hell's all your money going? Are you working 40 hours? Oh yeah. I'm working 40 hours. So you make 600 a week. Mmm. About five 50.
Speaker: idiot. Well, it makes a difference, you know, so you make your rent in one week. Yeah, but I have the rest of the money. So there's the hockey. um Then there's at least 600. No, hockey is like about 100 a month. Yeah. Then. um there's uh what's it called the ubers after work and stuff and that's about 100 a week so about 400 and then groceries which is about 60 i try to keep it around 60 a week um
Speaker: But even that's getting hard like groceries getting exposed you can't eat for $60 a week. That's crazy I've been I get two things a chicken I get five ah Mega meals for lunch from when I go to work and I try to make the last week
Speaker: if If I'm lucky, if not, then I'm working with Rama. So what are you making a month? That's what I'm saying. If you're pulling in... About like $2 ,200. Yeah, if you're pulling... You mean after tax or before? After it's probably less than $22 .00. So $550, $550 .00. There's no way you're making $550 .00. Yeah, I'm making $550. After taxes. Really? Yeah. $556 if you really want to be... So that's $2200 a month. Yeah. That's $1700 on miscellaneous.
Speaker: Well, 400 on um Uber. Uber, that takes away. So 1200. And then, let's see, again, 60, 60, that's 120, then 240 on groceries a month, and then ah at least 100 on hockey. So let's see, about $50 a week i on yeah so um hundred on hockey. on hockey. How much does that leave me? Like $500. Yeah, I think it's more than that. I guess and then like that's my miscellaneous if I'm trying like you know girlfriend or ah you know if I'm trying to get a snack or something from the vending machine at work so probably a miscellaneous thing there.
Speaker: Dude, our cafeteria is way more expensive and I hate buying from there, but and I i need to stop. I need to get crepes or something in from the grocery store and just because it's getting ridiculous. It's like four or five dollars for like a bar. Yeah. it Stop that. um
Speaker: Yeah. And then I have a cheat meal every Friday. So I get one Uber or like an Uber Eats. So I get, um, was it tropical cafe? Tropical smoothie. Yeah. Tropical smoothie. Yeah. Okay. So I mean, you're youre so that not typically even sit out about. But, uh, also that doesn't leave me any room for buying anything like shirts. So if I have things that go out, like toilet paper or something like that, yeah it basically needs to chew out that. So that I just don't account for, but I'm sure that that that's what I meant by miscellaneous. There's a lot of miscellaneous of things that you just.
Speaker: You would never think of like ketchup, toilet paper. Yeah. Juice. Toothpaste is expensive. Yeah. And I'll try to get mouthwash and mouthwash is expensive. Yeah. um So that extra $3 would be like an extra like $400 a month probably. Right around four or five.
Speaker: So, I mean, I could definitely work with that. So you'd move, get an apartment. I would stick with my same hobbies, but I have more of the money go toward rent essentially and have a better like lifestyle or living situation. I guess. Yeah. Well, what I was saying is I have a bartender that just works 30 hours a week and he lives on his own 1400 bucks a month, sweet apartment, no issues, car payment. He's making 12, 1400 bucks every week. Cash. Oh yeah. When I was making that, um, when I was working the, what, 12 hours a day and getting my overtime. Yeah. Oh, this is working, uh, six hours a day. Well, he loves he leaves cash in his pocket with 12 to 1400 a week. That's cash in pocket out the door. Yeah. That's lucrative business over here.
Speaker: Yeah. But when I was just making that, I was like, this is enough, definitely enough for me to, to live lavishly. And by lavishly, I mean, I could afford a car and be, and be like, oh yeah, excellent. Um, me and Danny were talking about that earlier. You can get a car with no down payment and just do the monthly payments instead of paying Uber every month. How much are those monthly payments? Like $750 a month? If you buy a Mercedes. Yeah, that's more than me and Jazzy's combined. my Daniel just bought a Kia 2024 Kia Rio. It was like $17 ,000. Wireless Apple CarPlay.
Speaker: It's ridiculous. This car is so sick. He was like 17 grand. I was like, dude, I could bought three of yours for the price of mine. And his as wireless carplay. Mine doesn't, I have to plug my freaking phone in. That depends on the brand. I was looking at this really sick Toyota Camry 2014. Camry's are expensive. Expensive. It was probably still $12 ,000. He said it was like 17. Yeah. Toyota's only had 6 ,000 miles on it when he brought it. Six? Yeah. It was 10 years old. Yeah. That's crazy. It was pretty decent. But Dylan's car is sick. Your car was sub 20, wasn't it? Yeah. Car's dope. Yeah. That was like, how much was your payment? 250? I think it was like three low 300s. Yeah. Crazy. You're paying that an Uber.
Speaker: Yeah, if I could pay 250, 300, that'd be pretty dope. You can get a brand new cheap car and that could work. Or you could just get like a, I used like normal car, like not cheap car. I just need something that I can not crush my legs in. As long as it's not like a Ford Focus, I'm fine. Well, that's what I'm saying. You can go get like a like in theory, if you went and got my car right now, say $10 ,000 for it and it's a nice car and it'll last you another, you know, five years. And you'll probably pay like 200 a month max, $150 a month. Hmm. That's a thing you can go buy a used car or a really cheap new car, which is also a thing. Hold on. They're not super nice, but that's a thing.
Speaker: I mean, Akia Soul's like 14 ,000. Yeah. They're ugly cars, but they're cheap. What? They're kind of cool. I really don't like them. Kimberly had one there. I know, I didn't like it. Wow.
Speaker: They're very cheap inside, which is kind of the point. Um, but if you have not a lot of money, it's a car for not expensive, a brand new car for not expensive and it'll get you where you need to go. And then in five years, you're like, I'm bawling out. You just traded and get a new car. Yeah, fair enough. But it's easier than doing Uber for several years and be like, I'll wait till I have a car or I'll wait until I can afford the car I want. If you're doing that either way, it's just, you know, the first way is it's your car. So IKEA right now and Carrie for 18, there's a 2020 white Optima. That's pretty sick with some sick rims on it.
Speaker: just You gotta think about the rims. And the rims are always a sweet add -on. Oh, they're not like aftermarket rims. They're just... Yeah. Like this looks nice the cool ones. Yeah. You remember Mom's Optima? Love that car. What year was it? It's a 2020 and it's all leather. It's got COVID. It's only got 50 ,000 miles on it. This thing will go forever. It's 18 ,000, 56 ,000 miles on it. Yeah. It probably is good for another 150 ,000. Yeah. 18 grand and it's leather. It's full of leather like mom's was with the panoramic sunroof. It is the SE. What's the normal, uh, interest rate? It depends on credit. I don't know his credit. Do you know what your credit score is? I haven't checked in a while.
Speaker: have to do that, but it's used. So go with something high like 10. Yeah. And then the other side of that is in, cause if you look at it in the way of, uh, like I was saying, like in, you know, four or five years, you want to go and get a new car that you like really love, like a brand new one. Instead of having paid Uber for several years, you would have bought a car. And now when you trade in your car, you'll be getting money back. Like they'll be giving you money instead of just Uber where you don't get any of that back. Okay. Just my score is 528. Don't buy a car. Thanks. Which one? What's the credit score? Is it like a FICO?
Speaker: Yeah. Okay, that's different. So average interest rate for a used car for not good credit is 19. Yeah, it's going to be way higher. Yeah, you can't can't go buy a car. I mean, you can. It would just have to be much cheaper. You'd have to get a $5 ,000 car and that's not worth it. You'll just lose $5 ,000. You might as well just go try to save up five grand and pay cash. Pay cash. Pay the keys. That's true. and Yeah. You'll pay 15 grand for a $5 ,000 car. That's crazy.
Speaker: and You should do credit commerce on one of the free credit things and just look at your credit report and it'll give you all of your information of why you have that credit score. And that's your actual credit score, not your FICO credit score. It's very different. It's worth signing up for that. I did that because that's how I found out. I had things that I didn't even know about. Fair enough. Yeah, and you look into it because if you have nothing that you didn't know about, it's just because your lack of credit and and yeah You attempt, you should attempt to open up a credit card like a Discover, or and they'll give you a really low limit, like a $800 credit limit. And you just use that for a year and just put stuff on it and pay it off. Put your groceries on it and just pay it off as soon as you buy your groceries. you You just put it on that card and then when it clears onto your credit card, you just pay it off because you were going to anyway.
Speaker: yeah And your credit will build up and up and up and up like super quickly. I'll send it open up in LSE. Sure. Anyways, well, thanks for being here, guys. It was nice to catch up. I was trying to explain to you were here, red Danny, earlier that this is a a little bit more freeform. We kind of just chill. We try to have a couple topics, but it's more just us hanging out, talking. It's less frustrating than the frustrating podcast. Go figure. Less frustrating, more mildly hot. Yeah, it's decently hot. but Some sources. Not super hot. Unless you eat the reaper sandwich and it's very hot. Don't do that. Don't sign the reaper. Don't eat the reaper. So next week we'll be back for mildly frustrating. Mildly frustrating. Yeah, for show for show. um And I think next week it's Nick's turn to come up with topics.
Speaker: Yep, so we prepared and and be So can we do a, if Nick's turn is next week, can we do a my turn the following week? Oh, I mean, I was joking because he would not do that. Oh, I was signing up for this. This isn't going to be the Asian podcast. But that's cool. and So I mean, it's not any cooler than what I said last time that you made fun of me for. I'm gonna make funny anyway. What was your idea last week? I wasn't listening. I wasn't really paying attention. Um, where I said everybody comes up with their own topic that they want to bring up. I pulled it. That way it's everybody's turn. Oh, I'm up for that too. You have a nick one too. Why? Cause he's not a preparer.
Speaker: We just figured that out. Yes, this whole last 45 minutes is illustrated. Yes, so by the frustrating, we'll figure out how because I still have a couple topics that I wrote down so we could always go back to that. But ah yeah, there's I'd like to incorporate some form of a little bit of a shared that way it doesn't. i Don't know cuz I would feel like you guys coming like okay. What are you gonna ask me? Which is fine, but I don't I don't want you guys to always feel like especially Nick because he comes in is like so Just ah let me know what you got Well, it's your show to be fair i've I've had ideas and we've either done them or most likely you've just been like But it's your show the one that I wanted to do what you get to do what you want
Speaker: You know, and that's what i I don't know. I feel like the only reason I say that is because I want him to feel like he's more involved. Well, he is. He was the other half. He was the only one you were talking to. Because from my point of view, having your own topic that you were bringing to the table is like you're going to be more like involved with the conversation. Like you're leading this conversation a little bit, but so it won't be a specifically or it won't be a mostly one way conversation. I just never wanted to feel like that.
Speaker: either to us or come out as on the podcast like that. But it's your show. I want to talk about. that But that's why I also talk a lot. So you come up with the idea. I talk on the idea. no I mean, which is how it's worked. Not because I don't want to do it, because I want I i my thought is it would flow better if I come in and I'm like, hey, this is what I was. ah This is the topic I want to talk about. You're like, oh, all right, go ahead. And that's kind of the whole podcast. um
Speaker: Yeah, I just don't want it to feel like it's me talking and you commenting on what I'm saying. That's sweet. Yeah, but I'm not, you know, this like I'm not a celebrity who started a podcast. No, you started a podcast. You're just not a celebrity yet. But there's a difference. Like if a celebrity starts a podcast, that's their show and people are tuning in to listen to them. They don't care about the other people, like Howard Stern, they don't care about who's with him, kind of. Yes, they do. Yeah, but if they all left, they would still listen to Howard Stern. But they're not them without Howard Stern. You know what I mean. No, you're incorrect. he's You take all those people out. He's not the same. It doesn't work like that.
Speaker: Yeah, well, it works a lot worse the other way. If you go and give Robin her own show, it's not it's not going to be anywhere near as good. So it works the reverse, too. It's worse the reverse. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, we could do whatever. That was just my thought on on the matter. That's what I'm saying. Are we talking about? I don't know. What did you guys get you? So we're going to do the podcast here. And then when I start the next podcast, like when I come up with a new idea, then we'll have to kind of figure out that form. What? What new podcast? One of the cutie patooties. ASMR only, the whole podcast. Sick.
Speaker: Mildly and whatever. Yeah, I feel like the structure would be sick. What? What are you talking about? Like for mildly frustrating. It'd be sick like you say, OK, topic. This he talks, I talk, you talk. This pros and cons to all of it, but that was I was saying the other thing for those reasons. Yeah, I think it'd be cool trade out. Yeah, and that's really what we've been doing Um, you get it I just I think I just uh, maybe it was when alan was involved maybe that that was that's always kind of how I felt um, is that people are more likely to talk if it's something they thought about beforehand and They were like this is frustrating to me as opposed to me dropping it which necessarily they don't necessarily have anything to say about it Yeah. Well, the beauty of the show of a show is everybody contributes to the ideas. The host has to bring it out. What do you mean bring it out? Like, just bring it out? Bring it to the table, yeah. Oh, yeah. You know, not just bring it up, bring it to the table in an interesting way. For show? Yeah, so we'll we'll see ah say everybody next week on that. I still have to edit it last week, so I'll do that probably like tomorrow or and clean it next week or something. The show.
Speaker: Um, for sure. It takes a lot of time, man. I have to like sit down and be like, all right, let's do this. And that's my night. Yeah, it's fair. It's like three hours to yeah do a one hour podcast. I mean more than that five most of the time It's like four hours. So it's like do I relax do I play video games or do I edit a podcast? I Can't do two of those at once. No. Well, thanks for being here guys. Thanks everybody for listening um We will see you guys next week on mildly frustrating most likely I like to leave that little ah little nugget of possibility out there because it's happened before where we just go back to the other one and
Speaker: hey my
Speaker: But until then we will see you guys later. Bye
