Speaker: Hello Pandalorians and welcome to another episode of Chatsunami. My name's Satsunami, and well, this year has been pretty... Pretty massive for the podcast. We got nominated for our first award at the Scottish Podcast Awards, reached over 130 ,000 plays, and we'll be moving on to our seventh season soon. But before we start that next week, I have a very special announcement. As you may have read by the title or my social media page, I have been ah lucky enough once again to be invited back to Fan Frontier's Epic Comic Con as a content creator, where I'll be attending this weekend from the 26th to the 27th of September. at the Glasgow SEC. In terms of conventions, this is honestly one of my favourite ones to attend and I always look forward to it every year. But as always, they have an absolutely brilliant roster of activities and events for people of all ages, from live wrestling and talks with comic creators, to cosplay contests and voice actor panels. That's not to mention the guests as well, but there is always something for everyone here and... As I said, it's a great day out. So what else can you expect from this event? Well, that's what I'm here to talk about to today. Without any further ado... let's dive into it. As always, we have the typical vendors, artist alleys, prop areas, as well as the interactive areas where families with young ones can take them to the kid zone where they can enjoy both face painting and then simultaneously the parents can feel old by taking them to the retro gaming area. Once again, the event is going to be split over two halls between hall two and three, which will indeed be fantastic because they'll be able to squeeze in so much more this year. But that being said, please remember to wear a pair of comfy shoes when you go because, trust me, as someone who walks around to these gons, it is a very long weekend. But speaking of excitement, we have a whole host of guests attending this year. Please note that some of the guests will only be available on certain days, with some attending on both. For Saturday the 26th of September, we have Emmett J. Scanlan, Jessica Henwick,
Speaker: Robert Llewellyn, Doug Naylor, and Yosef Kerkor. Then on Sunday the 27th, we have Denise Goh, Kayvan Novak, Rebecca Hansen, Callum Kerr, and last but certainly not least, Harvey Guillen. And if you're lucky to go both days, you'll be able to see Chris Barry, Elise Lovelock, Noah Klopp, and Michael Kovac. One thing I want to point out for that as well is, remember to be mindful of your times if you're booked a photo op with them, or a autograph opportunity with them, as they are on a set time limit. And unfortunately, if you miss them, unless you're cosplaying as Doctor Who, there are is little chance ah of turning back the clock for it. For the comic legends attending this year, we have Guesting. John Wagner, Simon Bisley, David Hine, Dan Cornwell, Nigel Parkinson and and Nika Nartova. Honestly, this is such a stacked line -up. And finally, here we have the serious part of the episode. You may have heard these words before, but here are the do's, don'ts and staying safe part, which, as I said, you might be aware of, but it never hurts to be reminded. As for the do's, of course, always have your tickets downloaded and ready when you go to the con. Wear comfy shoes and take breaks if you need to. Trust me, very important. Bring a water bottle and some snacks. Bring a portable charger and charging cables. Wear antiperspirant deodorant. Treat others with kindness. this in respect. Ask before taking photos of someone. Look out for one another if you're in a group. And of course, ask staff for help if you need it, and trust me, the staff are absolutely lovely. Huge shout out to them, and especially if you're listening to this one, because I know some of you do, but genuinely, they are fantastic, they have been doing this for ages, and they are more than happy to help you out if you need them. But here are indeed the don'ts. Don't forget to read the prop rules if you're cosplaying with a large prop or weapons. Trust me, it's for everybody's safety. As I said, do not miss out on the scheduling. Please check out the timetable and set alarms so you don't miss your favourite panels, your photo opportunities, any autographs, etc. Yeah, just be mindful of that. Don't meet someone you don't know alone. This is so important. The top priority of Fan Frontier and any con in general is staying safe. So please take that to heart. Do not take a photo with a person who is either resting or eating because I'm sure there'll be people wandering around the con who would be more than happy to take a photo. but as always, always ask for ah permission and please do not bother anyone who is, as Fan Frontier says, is taking a break, is eating, is relaxing before going back onto the con floor. And most importantly, please, please, please do not be rude to someone just because they are cosplaying a character you don't like. Now, I know we have our favourite villains, we have our favourite or rather least favourite characters, but remember, cosplayers are not the characters, so please... Please remember that behind all the cosplays, there is a human being behind that, and really, you don't want to be kicked out for being rude. Please don't do that. But most importantly, staying safe at the con. One of the initiatives that this con has been fantastic for implementing is the Ask for Angela system. So if you need help... please go to the staff and ask, do you know where Angela is? And they will give you discreet support. As for meeting friends, do not meet new people alone. If you are going to meet new friends that you've met online or in other spaces, please stay within the SEC grounds and speak up to staff if you feel unsure or uncomfortable. Don't forget to stay connected as well. So as I was saying in the do section, please bring a power bank. And if you're in a group, set up a meeting space. in case you're separated, because it is a pretty big con, so there are plenty of spaces that you can set a meeting point for. There are also quiet spaces, so please check out the floor plan on the Fan Frontiers show guide, or don't forget to ask staff on the day and they will happily help you. There is also ear defenders which are available to get at the information desk. And finally, in terms of food and drink, while there will be places to buy food on the day, please feel free to bring a refill. fillable water bottle because there are free water stations all around the Glasgow SCC so at least you'll be able to stay hydrated which is always a thing that we heartily endorse at Chats and Nami. Don't forget to bring snacks as well if you need them or as I said you can also buy the food on site. And that is it.
